Our current dire fiscal condition, our leaders’ dysfunctional unwillingness to address the flawed behavior that caused it, plus many other recent events both in the US and in Europe, point to the idea that a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion is just not on the menu. That leaves us with some final and total catastrophe of the involved currency system(s) as the inevitable outcome.
