The U.S. Federal Government under both the Bush and Obama administration has made it perfectly clear that in the event of almost any major disaster scenario, including economic and environmental, they see the institution of Martial Law as not only viable, but inexorable.

While too-big-to-fail banks, bond holders, unions and sovereign governments receive bailouts, the too-small-to-save American working and middle classes are transformed into welfare recipients and the poverty stricken.

We have a very serious problem already and the government doesn’t want to talk about it for fear of economic and political backlash. People are already getting sick while swimming at beaches, as well as from consuming food in affected areas. It’s possible that some water supplies have already been contaminated.

After one of the largest booms in history, the pendulum must swing the other way. We will, regardless of all the hope in the world, experience one of the largest contractions the world has ever seen. It will take decades for America to fully recover.

This was not an issue of whether we could openly carry a weapon in public, or even conceal-and-carry a weapon in public or in our vehicles. This was the most basic of freedoms.
