    Americans watch more television than anyone else in the world, and as we watch television, we are constantly being bombarded by commercials from pharmaceutical companies.  As I discussed in a previous article, pharmaceutical companies spend more than 15 billion dollars on television advertising each year.  The reason they do this is that it works.  We are the most drugged nation in the history of the world, and the pharmaceutical companies are absolutely swimming in cash.

    Bird flu has been detected in mammals on the Texas panhandle, including skunks, raccoons, and foxes. Cats have also been coming back positive for bird flu. While we have told domestic pet cats have been infected and died of bird flu, the inclusion of skunks and raccoons is new.

    HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has called for an end to “epidemic denialism” so that issues of public health importance (like the autism epidemic) can be addressed at the root cause. The root causes can be traced back to the unaddressed environmental toxins in air, water, food, and medicine. Speaking to growing concerns, Kennedy challenges the widespread assertion that rising autism diagnoses are simply due to improved diagnostic methods. He argues that autism’s disproportionate impact on young people and the absence of severe cases among older adults point to modern, man-made environmental factors as primary culprits.

Due to the prevalence of stereotypes and prejudices in relation to groups, it is often thought that there is not much point in individual members of disadvantaged groups attempting to make economic progress. The prevailing notion, which is rooted in egalitarian ideologies and interventionist policies, is that economic progress is impeded by membership of a disadvantaged group. Any individual members of a disadvantaged group who achieve notable success—for example, millionaires or pop stars—are viewed as exceptional cases that prove the rule.
