The Federal Bureau of Investigation is teaming up with the “highly efficient” post office to make sure they’ve got your fingerprints. Even though it wasn’t that long ago that people were warned of sharing their DNA with ancestry sites, it seems they might have reason to be concerned now about the FBI’s desire to snag your fingerprints too.

Now, the government has announced a new program in which they hope people will voluntarily give their fingerprints. As the public has become more aware of such privacy concerns, it seems strange that on Friday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced a new partnership with the United States Postal Service where customers can voluntarily provide them with their fingerprints while you’re at the post office.

For a fee, the FBI can provide individuals with an Identity History Summary—often referred to as a criminal history record or a “rap sheet”—listing certain information taken from fingerprint submissions kept by the FBI and related to arrests and, in some instances, federal employment, naturalization, or military service. –FBI.gov

But there are ways to get this information without giving your fingerprints to the FBI. In fact, most of it is public record anyway.
Of course, there are plenty of ways to obtain a criminal background check without providing the federal government your fingerprint. Most of the information is a part of the public record. If you’ve forgotten that you’ve been arrested in the past and want to check, you can start with local records before you give Big Brother your fingerprints. There are also some websites that can pull up records for a fee as well, without giving up your fingerprints. –PJ Media

I’ve been warning on this site for 8 + yrs never again lick any envelops shut using your saliva. Especially if sent to the IRS or a Government Utility. They will collect your DNA. Use a dipping paper towel, and dipping it in water to moisten the seal of the envelope works plenty well. The back of the sticky stamp takes a good fingerprint. Avoid having to send out any mail at all, and pay online as much as possible. Every body is making a fortune collecting data on people. Your credit card companies watch what you buy on a credit card and market you certain products.
Good thing I use latex gloves and spray some water on the adhesive strip then.

What makes anyone think that the Post Office doesn’t already have your fingerprints on file?
Just by mailing a letter, a bill, or a package, your fingerprints are all over that envelope, package, or the tape used to seal the package.
Lick an envelope in order to close it, and your DNA becomes readily available to any government agency that might care to analyze it.
They already have all the infor on all the peaple now they need us to think we gave it to them.Those that do will be called real americans those that don’t get chipped.
Easier ways to get DNA.
Plenty of Americans have allowed the Main Stream Media to convince them that the Libertarian ideals of a smaller & less obtrusive Federal Government is a bad thing. Many of the Founding Fathers would have identified themselves today as LIBERTARIAN, rather than Democrat or Republican. Rand Paul, like his father, has consistently advocated for the limited Fed. Govt. suggested by the Founders. The BLOB we call the Fed. Govt. is antithetical to INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. DRAIN THE SWAMP.
The FBI can go f#$% themselves. They’re not allowed to get anything I have.
I only have one question…what’s a post office?
