The threat of a large-scale terrorist attack caused by chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons of mass destruction has been at the forefront of investigations in recent months, so much so that in March the White House issued a warning highlighting the four most likely scenarios for a nuclear attack on U.S. soil.

Following the attack in Brussels earlier this year it was learned that terrorists had not only targeted nuclear facilities in Belgium, but that the chief of the power plant in question had been staked out, recorded and followed. A security guard at the nuclear plant also died under mysterious circumstances.

Now, according to a report from Zero Hedge, another nuclear plant has been targeted, this time with a virus that has infected its computer systems:

Remember when “someone” used the Stuxnet virus, or rather worm, in an Iranian nuclear plant several years ago to freeze Iranian nuclear production, leading to a major diplomatic scandal involving the spy agencies of both the US and Israel, as the world learned that in the present day industrial sabotage only needed a flash drive and a computer virus to render even the most sophisticated piece of industrial machinery obsolete? Well, moments ago, Bloomberg reported that a computer virus was discovered in a German nuclear power plant.

    • A computer virus was discovered at the Gundremmingen nuclear power plant in Bavaria, German news service DPA reported.
    • No danger to employees or populace
    • Power plant noticed the virus in its Block B on Mon.
    • RWE specialists to determine how malware entered computer system built in 2008

BR (google translated) is reporting that the malware is thought to be brought in by a data carrier, and the affected portion of the system is the fueld assembly loading area.

The affected IT system is part of the fuel assembly loading machine of the power plant. This raises, for example, old fuel from the reactor core and transports it to the storage pool. An influence on the control of these loading machine has the IT system according to the operator but not. In the power plant all other safety-related IT systems have been checked without finding the meantime.

The competent authority and the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) have been informed. The reconnaissance takes place with the assistance of IT specialists in the RWE Group. The malicious software may have been introduced by a data carrier.

Ironically, in the case of the Iran “infection”, one of the suspected parties was Germany’s own Siemens. It would be painfully ironic if the same someone had infected a Germany nuke at roughly the same time.

While the WMD threat once again appears to be centralized in Europe, the fact is that the United States has scores of power plants across the country and in all likelihood terrorists, whether middle eastern, state-sponsored, or rogue organizations, are actively looking for ways to cause maximum damage to American citizens.

An attack on a nuclear facility may be improbable, but it’s certainly a real and highly dangerous possibility that could leave tens of thousands of people dead and entire regions of the United States uninhabitable.

Moreover, the threat isn’t restricted to just to nuclear plants. With our porous southern border and no immigration control to speak of, those who mean to do us harm can easily cross into the United States, WMD in hand, to launch an attack on the American people.

In fact, in the summer of 2014 the Texas Rangers were dispatched to the southern border after nuclear materials that could be used in a dirty bomb attack were stolen in Mexico.

In 2011 it was reported that Customs and Border Protection had identified and seized a nuclear weapon of some kind as it was being smuggled into the United States.

The threat is most certainly real and as completely insane as it may sound, it’s only a matter of time before such a CBRN weapon is used in a large population center in the United States or Europe.

Perhaps it’s time Americans consider preparing for a nuclear attack:

Regardless of whether you decide to stay or bug out, there are a few items you should strongly consider adding to your prepping supplies. Aside from the usual stuff like food, water, tools, weapons, and medical supplies, you’ll probably need the following:

You’ll find that everything on this list will also be useful for other scenarios like nuclear war and dirty bomb attacks. Truth be told there are countless ways that you or family could face a radioactive threat, but with the right mindset, gear, and supplies, you can survive even the worst nuclear disasters.

      1. I think we can safely say that this viral infection was not ISIS or Al Queda originated. Only a high level cyber group could have done something like this. So probably an intelligence agency in China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, USA or Israel. My bet is on western intel groups.

This is a set up for sure. A nuke false flag is coming.

        • They just took the Stuxnet malware and introduced it into another system. It might have been modified before the insertion was done, and that would only require one good programmer to crank some additional code out.

          • Yeah,

It’s not as hard as it would seem and doesn’t need a lot of people or a sophisticated organization to accomplish it after the initial attack has shown how it is done.

        • The USSA’s stupidity knows no bounds. Just throw all of your power grid utilities including your water delivery systems on the internet. There that should make things easier for everybody.

Oh shit, FBI agents raided the wrong house. GENIUS was there passed out next to the STILL when Feds knocked down the door and smelled strawberry jasmin bourbon. Turned out it was just Genius’ shampoo which he had made from some tallo and some brew. I understand Trump has been washing his hair with it for years.

      3. Could they be the latest new hires at the Nuclear Plant in Germany, those “Refugees”? Who could possibly imagine that people walking in mass demonstrations screaming how much they hate and want to kill for Allah, then mass raping women, children, and other men, would stoop to putting a virus into our or Germany’s Nuclear Plants. Inconceivable.

      4. I don’t have any experience with nuclear power plants but I have a significant amount with fossil fuel plants.

The protective instrumentation known as Interlocks are hard wired. Water goes low, they shut down the fuel supply. Iv & Uv scanner flameout, they shut down the fuel supply. There are no computerized connections vulnerable to hacking. I assume the same is true in nuclear power generation.

Want a concern? Cut maintenance budgets and work your operators 100 hrs a week. Every opps I seen over three decades had both something not working correctly, no level indicator, no flow indicator, filthy sight glass, coupled with human error. “I assumed”. “I thought”. “Too much was happening”. I have heard the industry say, knowing a very large potential problem was looming with possibly catastrophic result, “We don’t staff for emergencies”. Too bad the surrounding community believes they do.

        • @Kevin
Im pretty sure there isnt a nuke plant in the states that used any controls that are vulnerable to any virus. The problem is that most were built before DDC became the norm. I think the last plant was commissioned in 1986. That means both Control and Supervisory are both analog. There have been a few plants that got upgraded in the mid 2000’s But technology was still Basic DDC and had neither USB or Internet connectivity except on only the most basic level.
All these scare stories you see are pushed by the power companies and large controls companies (Siemens, Honeywell) who want US to pay for the upgrades on their aging 40 year old plants.
Most modern controls are distributed control systems. That means there is a small embedded computer controlling the valve that has certain parameters such as high and low position, rotation speed so on and so forth directly programmed into it. You communicate with them all the time. If communications differs from the norm or is absent they go into fail safe mode. All you can to is tell it to open or close a little more.
This computer is controlled by another computer which has the same sort of criteria which is again controlled by a master computer. On top of all of this is another computer that provides supervisory control and will have very limited ability to control the system itself.
It is very hard to get thru all the different layers of protocol to cause any problems on these systems. Even the operators cant make them go into situations that are not allowed. The plant just plain shuts dpwn.

          • We had DCS Honeywell system. Control loops were cascaded or auto. Regardless the fail safe interlocks were hard wired. If a monkey was let loose in the control room he could shut the place down but not damage it.

        • Kevin and Ed

I am still in the industry. I am in Fossil and Hydro as a supervisor.

I agree with you both. The only way to get into the control systems would be to do it from inside. I am more worried about the SCADA systems in the switch yards. They are vulnerable.

My greatest concern would be physical attacks by someone who knew the proper places to hit. If there were several teams and they knew the proper places then that would be a huge disaster. They could take out the entire grid.
Hopefully none of this ever takes place.

      5. Re: The threat of a large-scale terrorist attack caused by chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons of mass destruction…

This is one of the things that really concerns me.

Thank you Mac for posting this article!

      6. Jesus sh..t. why dont i just do my fricking job, i just had to come on here to look again. Get ready for Nuclear phucking meltdown. B From CA, your comment is crazy, yet true. Its the damn truth. The cabal can’t regain back control and the false flag option is on the table to cancel the elections..What a cluster phuck of country we are living in. Hey Genuis, your getting phucked with, dont take it too serious, B is a ligitimate longtime poster, just busting your balls a little.

I find it interesting that all the nuclear plants, most of them were purposely built on Yellow national park, so that when the volcano blows, nuclear meldown commenses and the NWO kicks into high gear. As far as the muslims yelling for allah, and other crap, threateing women and other crap, they can only pull that shit in Germany and Europe, pull that crap in my city, and see how quick they shut up and hall ass. Pull that crap in Houston and see if the HPD cops dont draw and light your allah yelling asses up in public. That crap does not work in Houston or Texas. Any muslim needs a referal, just check out how the Dallas cop handled the Pamela Geller draw the prophet meeting, when he capped you asses. As you can see, one cop, one pistol and two dead ass jihadist. allah my ass, keep yelling.

        HCKS..

Yes, the self renoun Agency ass clown super moderator.

      7. Was it not just the other day when Obullshit said he was going after ISIS with cyber attacks. Or was that code from Obullshit that he was going to pull off another FALSE FLAG? I just don’t trust this POS in the White House. I believe he is willing to see the USA a third world country and he will use is Muslime friends to do it, or he will do it himself and blame it on them so there little turd can come out of the well.
        Sgt.

      8. Everything happens for a reason. The reason is they want us all dead. No outside the box thinking allowed.

      9. Going after ISIS with cyber attacks????

        What…

        HUH?

What’s he going to do, screw up their access accounts to their goat porn websites? LOL

EMP-HEADS UP RECEIVED LESS THAN AN HOUR AGO-EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE FOR A CYBER SHUT DOWN OF THE US POWER GRID AT THE WILL OF THE PERPETRATORS CHOOSING, LIFE AS WE KNOW IT WILL TURN TO BARBARISM QUICKLY, AS THE BARBARIANS ARE ALREADY IN OUR COUNTRY

ACCORDING TO INFO RECEIVED AN HOUR AGO ON 4/27/16 -THE ENTIRE POWER GRID IS POISED FOR AN INTERNAL CYBER ATTACK AT THE MOMENT OF CHOOSING.INTEL SOURCE STATED THAT AFTER INTENSE 2 WEEK INVESTIGATION AND HIGH LEVEL MEETINGS THAT LASTED THAT LONG, IT’S QUOTE “1,000 TIMES WORSE” THAN EVEN “THEY HAD THOUGHT”-THERE ARE SO MANY COMPROMISED OPERATING PROGRAMS AND SPIES THAT “THE AGENCIES CANT KEEP UP”! FORGET THE NUKE EMP-HE SAID “ITS WHO EVER FLIPS THE SWITCH” FIRST!THEY EVEN DISCUSSED THE EFFECTS OF THE POWER GOING DOWN AND HOW IT WOULD AFFECT THOSE WHO’S LIVES ARE ADDICTED TO THE INTERNET AND WHO ARE ON SSRI’S AS WELL AS EBT CARDS BEING UNUSABLE,NOT TO MENTION ALL COMMUNICATIONS ,BANKING, AND TRUCKING, COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP!

        • Respectfully, how long does he give you, before you can know whether the prediction has failed.

      11. I always though of Stuxnet in the same way as the ink, which marks the bank robber.

In theory, the virus should betray anyone, who has connectivity with Iran.

Speculating that terrorists are responsible is rather ironic; it should mark people, who enable terrorists, imho.
