Can we trust the federal government to protect us from terrorist who may be coming to the U.S. to cause trouble?
President Obama and other establishment figures are assuring us that thousands of Syrian refugees and other immigrant pools should be accepted in the U.S., and that risky figures will be swiftly screened out by an appropriate Homeland Security vetting process.
However, a fresh report identified scores of suspected individuals who were missed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA),who operate under Homeland Security, during airport hiring processes, yet are on the government terrorist watchlist.
Ultimately, many of them work in “secure” positions at the airport that could compromise security and put Americans at risk.
The Controversial Times reports:
A review of screening and security procedures inside the TSA has revealed that 73 workers approved for access to secure areas are actually on the terrorism watch list.
The report (PDF) summary says:
Despite these layered controls, our testing showed that TSA did not identify 73 individuals with terrorism-related category codes. According to TSA data, these individuals were employed by major airlines, airport vendors, and other employers. TSA did not identify these individuals through its vetting operation because it is not authorized to receive all terrorism-related categories under current interagency watchlisting policy.
[…] TSA acknowledged that these individuals were cleared for access to secure airport areas despite representing a potential transportation security threat.
And surely, these 73 individuals are just scratching the surface. Imagine what else they miss.
If these people were approved by a vetting process with Homeland Security oversight, how can Americans really expect better results to filter out potentially dangerous individuals from a flood of refugees during a time when ISIS infiltration is at the top of security concerns?
The answer is obvious and blunt: they can’t and shouldn’t.
Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson and FBI director James Comey acknowledged the risks involved with vetting Syrian refugees, but vowed to be vigilant:
Top law enforcement and security officials cautioned Wednesday that bringing in 10,000 Syrian refugees as planned carries a terror risk, with Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson acknowledging background checks can only do so much and “there is no risk-free process.”
“The good news is that we are better at [vetting] than we were eight years ago. The bad news is that there is no risk-free process,” Johnson said at a House Homeland Security Committee hearing.
[…] Officials said while they are confident about their vetting process, there is a risk in terms of screening refugees who have never crossed the intelligence radar.
“If the person has not crossed our radar screen, there will be nothing to query against so we do see a risk there,” FBI Director James Comey said.
For political reasons, the Obama’s federal government is refusing to protect the border or keep out people who hold a security risk. Instead, their acceptance is fast tracked and those opposed to it are demonized in the media.

Genius, I have lived up here in the mountains for 15 years. Escaped California while it was getting uninhabitable and our town on the east side of the bay took it’s last dying breaths of normalcy and what was left of yeah, I’ll say it, white bred suburbia with hard working, good people carving out a life for themselves. Once the Pakistanis, Indians, Filipinos and Iranians came flooding in, the town was overrun with people who couldn’t speak English and crime settled in. So I moved up to the north country looking for an escape, to blend in, enjoy the country and find peace. About 3 years ago, suddenly… planes showed up and started going back and forth making passes until they would form a grid of trails above us, and they continue to this day, mostly active all summer and fall. Who knows what they are doing up there, but my husband and I stand out in the field some mornings or late evenings and watch up to 6 planes sometimes, covering the entire town and outskirts of it. Then the next day or two, we are both sick with coughing, sinus pressure, headache and sore throat with watery eyes.

They need to screen TSA for bad attitudes as well. Some of these people are have the ugliest ways imaginable. Last flight I took, I told one girl that it looked like she loved her job (not). So… the pay is low and you don’t like the job. Don’t take it out on the passengers who may be on an anniversary trip or celebrating a family event.
Low-paying job? A FEDERAL GOVT. job low paying? Last time I checked, federal jobs are still the best jobs available with better pay than anywhere in the private sector with benefits to match. But you are right about all fed employees [not just TSA] have the worst kind of attitudes imaginable. Also, they’re protected by unions and affirmative action.
Braveheart; Many of those TSA people are part time and have a few hours between shifts. There is a lot of turnover and they miss a lot of things in people’s carry ons that are scanned. Not much money in pay either. Wait til they go on strike!

I personally know people who have hired one of these dangerous people because they were qualified for the job and also had a clean background,including for a live-in nanny position… cannot rely on backgrounds alone, as I said, the majority of P/S have a clean background record — at the most only an infraction or two.

This country has too many laws that were put into place because lazy people were allow to make them. Also the attitude of, “That sounds good” without fully knowing what that law actually meant.
We are so conditioned that we have to have another persons (Police/Lawyers/Judges) do the action of defending, policing and punishment of offenses.
The real test of living together and people doing the right thing is a Vigilante Response and Taking the law into your own hands.
Now there are some that will say there would be lots of violence. You bet! But that amount would decrease in time and those that would do crime would ABSOLUTLY know their was ramifications for THEIR actions.
A “Without Rule Of Law” scenario? Violent! Unpredictable! Might get the job done.
what saddens me the most is the continued lack of seasoned tactically smart and strategically sound well spoken leaders that will speak out about the state of theis country. the inspirations to be beacons too other Americans. There are so few motivational and educated experienced and committedpatriots these days. Much less aware and willing to speak the truth oabout what is happening to us…These are dark days as this country is being torn apart from within. Those people of character i mentioned above, are really the last real hope this country has, but as long as they are ridiuled and marginalized, they are a gift to this country that goes unrecognized and are far more powerful that the ragtag militias and grassroots. What America needs right now is the Pattons of this generation, and a d determination to push back the PC and the rampant socialism and communism spoken from the streets, our Government and its politicians. GS, If you want a long term investment in ammo you might consider getting a basic reloading setup. Lee makes a good product for a good price. You will save a lot of fed notes in the future and learn a valuable skill. Handmade ammo is more accurate than factory ammo and you can make any combination you want. Warning: Reloading can be addictive 🙂
I have a single stage bench press but I use my Lee hand press instead, I just like it better. A hand press is cheap and portable and a good starter. If you load for a bolt action rifle the best accuracy and longest brass life will be if you neck size only. The ammo will only be good for the rifle that originally fired the brass so be sure to mark which one it is for. A good book for all around loading is “Modern Reloading” by Richard Lee. I think it is out of print but you can find it on amazon or ebay. You will give yourself years of enjoyment and savings by reloading.

Totally agree, full length re-sizing leads to case trimming and eventually less times for available reloading. As long as bullet jump is within parameters, and there is no jamming, neck size away.
