The future tends towards the path of greatest destruction, perhaps, because the system has been set up for such a fall.
It has indeed been rigged to extract wealth from the body politic. The people have been squashed down economically into revolutionary masses, and as the system is cracking apart, and all the corruption is spilling over at the centers, out in the mainland, the people have become easily provoked, yet quick to follow and slow question the reality of what is going on.

Apparently, the possibility is real enough that scientists have calculated and modeled the frightening rapidity with which humanity would be culled by such a disaster. And for that matter, you could add an EMP, a massive seismic event, or even a hacking event.
Humans have become very fragile, and vulnerable to devoured by their own kind.

In a grid down situation,a solar energy system (even just a trickle charger) could charge batteries for electricity, including your vehicle battery, to power the cigarette lighter, to start a fire, even if you have no gas to run the vehicle.
Use the trickle charger outside.
Inside, it gets too hot and could start your vehicle on fire, contrary to what the sellers of the product say. Don’t forget to add a couple extension cords to your useful items list. 🙂
BTW, nice bug out kit but it wouldn’t last long. Really it is just designed to get you where you need to go. Hopefully if you decide to bug out, you have somewhere to go that is well stocked to provide for the long term.

I don’t think there’ll be a zombie apocalypse, just the thought of folks not getting their happy meds, coupled with homocides/suicides, grudges etc etc is gonna be enough to deal with. A zombie scenario is my favorite one to prep for. I figure if one can survive that, they can survive pretty much any other scenario. I’m also a big fan of that movie genre.

I like my 12GA. shotgun. Now for the 22’s. Oh yes the little 22, I like something Mag fed. like the 10/22 or some of the new AR 22’s, and for the 22 handgun I like the Ruger Mrk. 1,2,3, This my choice. I just got a new GSG/SIG and I’m liking it a lot. This is one way to stop a Zombie attack. Now make sure you have a good heavy knife, sword, machete heavy combat knife. This will help at close range. Silence is golden. Crossbow, Recurve, Compound bows will come in handy. Last but not least and it make noise is exploding targets.
