Over the last several years we have documented with clockwork regularity Venezuela’s collapse into failed state status, which was cemented several weeks ago when news hit that “Venezuela had officially run out of money to print new money.”  At that point the best one could do was merely to step back and watch as local society and civilization turned on itself, unleashing what would ultimately turn into Venezuela’s own, sad apocalypse.

Last night we showed what Caracas, looks like this week:

    ven1a

As we wrote then these are simply hungry Venezuelans protesting that their children are dying from lack of food and medicine and that they do not have enough water or electricity. As AgainstCronyCapitalism added, this is a country with more oil than Saudi Arabia, and the government has stolen all the money and now they bottleneck peaceful protesters and threaten them with bombs (or haul them to prison and torture them).

As pure desperation has set in, crime has becomes inevitable. A man accused of mugging people in the streets of Caracas was surrounded by a mob of onlookers, beaten and set on fire, who published a pixeled-out but still graphic video of the man burning as mob justice is now the supreme arbiter of who lives and who dies:

“Roberto Fuentes Bernal, 42, was reportedly caught trying to mug passersby in the Venezuelan capital, and before police arrived at the scene, the crowd took the law into their own hands.” The video can be seen here.

Now, in the latest shocking development, Venezuela saw a new wave of looting this week that resulted in at least two deaths, countless wounded, and millions of dollars in losses and damages.

According to Panampost, on Wednesday morning, a crowd sacked the Maracay Wholesale Market in the central region of Venezuela.  According to the testimonies of merchants, the endless food lines that Venezuelans have been enduring to do groceries could not be organized that day.

As time went by, desperate Venezuelans grew anxious over not being able to buy food. Then they started jumping over the gates and stormed the supermarket.

“They took milk, pasta, flour, oil, and milk powder. There were 5,000 people” one witness told Venezuela outlet El Estímulo.

People from across the entire state came to the supermarket because there were rumors that some products not found anywhere else would be sold there.

As a result of the massive crowd, the authorities were unable to preserve the peace. “There were 250 people for each National Guard officer… lots of people and few soldiers. At least one officer was beat up because he tried to stop the crowd,” another source told El Estímulo.

Other food dispensaries run by the government were also looted by the people.

Far from the promised socialist paradise, as the massive group of people moved, an entrance gate collapsed under the weight of the crowd, leaving several wounded.

The image below shows a human stampede over rice.

Over the last two weeks, several provinces have hosted scenes of looting in pharmacies, shopping malls, supermarkets, and food delivery trucks. In several markets, shouts of “we are hungry!” echoed. On April 27, the Venezuelan Chamber of Food (Cavidea) reported that the country’s food producers only had 15 days left of inventory.

PanamPost adds that lootings are becoming an increasingly common occurrence in Venezuela, as the country’s food shortage resulted in yet another reported incident of violence in a supermarket — this time in the Luvebras Automarket located in the La Florida Province of Caracas.

Venezuelans lost control this week when offered small portions

Videos posted to social media showed desperate people falling over each other trying to get bags of rice. One user claimed the looting occurred because it is difficult to get cereal, and so people “broke down the doors and damaged infrastructure.”

In the central province of Carabobo, residents ransacked a corn warehouse located in the coastal city of Puerto Cabello. They reportedly broke down the gate because workers were giving away small portions.

“There’s no rice, no pasta, no flour,” resident Glerimar Yohan told La Costa, “only hunger.”

    Social Collapse Is Inevitable

With the economy dead, the only thing remaining is to watch as society implodes. To that end, Oscar Meza, Director of the Documentation Center for Social Analysis (Cendas-FVM), said that measurements of scarcity and inflation in May are going to be the worst to date. “We are officially declaring May as the month that [widespread] hunger began in Venezuela,” he told Web Noticias Venezuela. … “As for March, there was an increase in yearly prices due to inflation — a 582.9 percent increase for food, while the level of scarcity of basic products remains at 41.37 percent.”

    ven3a
“We are officially declaring May as the month that hunger began
in Venezuela,” says an NGO that measures inflation and scarcity

Meza said the trigger for the crisis is the shortage of bread and other foods derived from wheat.

“Prices are so high that you can’t buy anything, so people don’t buy bread, they don’t buy flour. You get porridge, you see the price of chicken go up and families struggle … lunch is around 1,500 bolivars… People used to take food from home to work, but now you can’t anymore because you don’t have food at home.”

The is why, Español Ramón Muchacho, Mayor of Chacao in Caracas, said the streets of the capital of Venezuela are filled with people killing animals for food. “Muchacho reported that in Venezuela, it is a “painful reality” that people “hunt cats, dogs and pigeons” to ease their hunger.”

Subsquently, Muchacho warned that Caribbean islands and Colombia may suffer an influx of refugees from Venezuela if food shortages continue in the country.

“As hunger deepens, we could see more Venezuelans fleeing by land or sea to an island,” Muchacho said.

And that is how all socialist utopias always end.

    * * *

Meanwhile, as civil war appears inevitable, as previously reported there are factions vying to oust Maduro, although we are confident the dictator will hang on for dear life (literally) and force his population to endure more of this socialist nightmare. One can only hope that these shocking scenes remain relegated to the streets of offshore socialist paradises, although Americans should always prepare for the worst in case they eventually manage to make their way into the country.

      1. I fear this is what our country will look like within the next five years.

        Can you imagine?

It’s almost unimaginable, but it’s very very real for millions of people right now.

        • I believe government leaders anticipate such situations at some point here in America. That is why they have been busy purchasing storable food, supplies, millions of bullets, etc.

All these supplies were paid for with taxpayer money…

          • Five thousand pissed off and hungry citizens….just think if each was carrying and AK or AR and a load out vest with extra mags, marching on the their capitol (The peoples’ house) instead of an empty supermarket. It’ll come soon enough here. DC minions better have THEIR BOB ready.

            • Their BOB better include an airlift because they aint gettin out

            • Hey Venezuelans, how’s that Socialist system working out for you?

Hey Bernie supporters, move to Venezuela and “feel the Bern”.

              • As AgainstCronyCapitalism added, this is a country with more oil than Saudi Arabia, and the government has stolen all the money and now they bottleneck peaceful protesters and threaten them with bombs (or haul them to prison and torture them).
                THAT IS NOT SOCIALISM
                THAT IS CAPITALISM

                • You seem to know very little about socialism. What you describe in the bread and butter of just about every socialist nation, including the one I escaped to come to this capitalist one.

                • If they had capitalism they would not be starving you moron. Only workers socialist paradises have these problems. All the oil in the world and they are broke. Elect Berni and see it here.

              • I believe Socialism in America has been part of the plan for a LONG time.

“Socialism is the prelude or ‘intermediate step’ towards communism,” according to the Communist Manifesto written in 1848 by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

Norman Mattoon Thomas, a Socialist Party candidate six times: “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

“Socialism works only until you run out of other people’s money.” -Margaret Thatcher

          • Venezuelan government a year or two ago banned prepping. The law was intended to stop people from buying government subsidized food and smuggling it out of the country to sell at full price in neighboring countries.

The side effect of food rationing meant that people could only buy a couple days of food at a time. The people of Venezuela have been bleed dry of all their stored food that average people would keep.

They are living hand to mouth and the governments destruction of small business there included farming and ranching.

Like Obama, Shavez wanted the voting public to be the ruling classes bitches. Why destroy farmers and ranchers, because imported food falls under control of the government to set prices, subsidies, and control distribution. The nation became a welfare state that ate at the whim of the government. The government now with a worthless currency has lost their leverage. And it’s all falling apart.

Does anyone see now why Obama has the BLM and EPA taking farmers and ranchers water, water rights, and land? Obama has his homeland military police just murdering ranchers and farmers if they dissent. It’s a power grab.

            • Next year the FDA and USDA will be shutting farms down for not complying with FSMA. Millions of small farms

              • Kula, the day is fast coming when even ranchers and farmers have to take a stand. FDA and USDA can get f#$%ed.

                • I am and will, going to sell direct to end user, cash discounts

                  • Kulafarmer

                    What does that mean?

                    • Direct sales to individuals

                  • Mark of the beast is coming. No one can buy or sell without it. It’s staring us right in the face.

            • where i live there is a on going fight with the forest service over water rights for cattle, after the Bundy and Finicum incidents the forest service has brought in ARMED guards carrying auto weapons and wearing vests, even though the locals have NOT given ANY kind of reason for this, they still brought them here and because they did, NOW some are so outraged by they ARE talking about doing something!! IT is just talk BUT, the FEDS are doing LAND, WATER, MINERAL, grabs everywhere!

              • Bullet proof vests being worn by the feds won’t mean squat when the opposing force is trained in going for the ‘head’ shot…. I know several individuals who are pretty good – they consistently shoot 3 to 4 inch shot groups at 750 to 800 yards with their 308 or 30-06… just what the hell do the feds think we’ve been training for?
Oh, by the way, a standard – store bought – 308 will still deliver 1.5 to 2.6 times the kinetic energy at 1000 yards as a 357 Magnum round being fired out of a 6” barrel at ‘point blank’ range… don’t believe me? Look it up…

                or:

                http://www.shooterscalculator.com/ballistic-trajectory-chart.php?t=f630255c

In other words: the feds are just plain stupid if they think they’ll be able to go toe to toe against the average gun owners I know, and they won’t stand a snow-ball’s chance in hell against some of the better guys I know… overall, the lessons learned from Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn will be well remembered…

                Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

                • Jerry C, if the feds try to take on my family, they’ll get a lot more than they bargained for. They’re all damn good shots thanks to the vets in my family and can all do head shots as well.

            • You are a cracked cracker. Your ranchers “grazing rights” loonies, lost thier bid for what you white supremist want. .anarchy at the expense of black and brown people. You have been manipulated by your masters.
              God sees everything.

              • Monica Acosta-Zamora, I see another stupid troll attacking white people, so move your stupid ass along.

              • Monica Acosta-Zamora, are you here legally?? The Donald is going to send you back to be with your Brown people so you don’t have to put up with us raycist White people ever again.

As for our “Masters,” don’t you worry your pretty brown little head. We White Americans will take care of those scheming Semites once and for all and regain our destiny, soon. Very soon.

          • you don’t NEED food, if you got enough BULLETS, mom!

        • The same thing happened here at several Walmarts when the EBT system failed and the store was overwhelmed by “hungry” EBT card holders. If you took away EBT, welfare payments, unemployment insurance, food stamps and all the other government funded programs you’d be looking at similar chaos here in the US. What makes us different is that we can print our own monopoly money.

          • Rodster, those programs are not government funded, they are taxpayer funded. Remember, they stole that money from YOU and other working taxpayers, and handed it to the lazy free-shit entitlement society that did nothing to earn it. That needs to stop NOW.

        • Nah; We can just order KFC take out. This is not the way it goes here. They have gone Socialist, so the Gov is supposed to take care of them. And it’s broke (With more oil reserves than anyone else on the planet) Hummm. In the US it’s the FSA (Free Shit Army) that does this in the cities, when the food stamps don’t work. Out here in the boonies, there is food everywhere, it just won’t get shipped to the FSA. So they can burn down the stores in their location, get their asses shot off, and it will all be better. Much Better.

          • “FSA”….. LOL!!!!

        • No, you need to imagine it in the usa; because it is coming and you need to be prepared to survive it.

What tells you it is not coming ?

18 trillion in debt ? 100 million on food stamps ? millions out of work, making 30K or less and racial division all over the usa that our president seems to enjoy piling onto ?

It will take a miracle imo for the usa not to go thru the same thing within 25 years and probably much less than that.

          • Lena
Everything points to 25 days or less… and I am worried.
Those who are not worried will end up providing food Venezuela style.
No guns for me, I believe that camouflage, contact avoidance, remote location and so on, is a better approach.

            • Bobane

              Carry a BIG knife.

          • The National Debt is now $19,400,000,000,000.oo and climbing… but hey, what’s a trillion or two at this point…. especially when the unfunded mandates are estimated at somewhere between 100 trillion and 200 trillion. I just try to follow my own personal motto: Buy More Food.

            • 19 trillion here, 19 trillion there, pretty soon it will add up to real MONEY!

        • Preppers won’t have to stand in line.

          • You need to stand in line regardless. If not people will know you have food. When it runs out they will come for yours.

            • Bingo, correct answer.

If you look fed, you will be noticed. If you look clean & healthy, you will be noticed. If you look “prepared”, you will be noticed.

Learn to blend in with your surroundings (a.k.a.: camofluge).

To brag that “Preppers won’t be in any lines…” is somewhat presumptuous and as Wojo says, they will come for yours.

The only way to avoid this is to say buried in your bunker and not come out until you’re sure it’s safe to do so.
Good luck with that one. ( “Blast from the past” movie comes to mind…)

              • You two are full of shit. We will have to blow people’s brains out. Stand in line, no.

                • Menzo, I’m with you on that one.

                  • Thanks BH

                    • Menzo, you’re welcome. I believe it’s best to avoid people as much as possible in any post-SHTF scenario. I’m not any fan of standing in lines for any damn thing myself. I’ll be at the BOL before something happens.

                  • I think BOTH ways are correct depending on where you live, IF you live in a highly populated area and everybody is standing inline you will need to some how fit into the norm or you WILL become highly visible and talked about and THEN some will come looking! NOW if you are in a low populated area you can stay low profile and MOST won’t know any different other then than a few nosey’s and you’ll always have some of those, the bottom line is DO NOT stand out like a sore thumb, try to keep as low a profile as possible for YOUR own type of area!

                    • I was speaking for my own situation. I’m in the sticks.

                    • Good call.

It will depend on your situation and location

                      Thx

                • Menzo.

I am not standing in line.

                  • Same here,

                • Everyone is full of crap. But we all have to crap eventually. It’s not pretty, but it serves a purpose. So, choose your words carefully.
Seriously doubt you will have enough ammo to protect your Crap once they find you…
Again, good luck because even Preppers may have to stand in line eventually.

                  • You ever heard of reloading? I built an outhouse. I will crap in that.

                    • Sure. Reloading is great. But, as with most anything, it is a finite resource.

Same with crap. You eat, you crap, you live. You don’t eat, you don’t crap, then you hopefully grow wings and stand at the gates or get lead weights and go where it’s hotter then Hell…

Doubt most will have the capacity to store and protect all the resources needed to survive something such as what is discussed, or worse, for very long. But there will those who will have those resources and protection because of their foresight (Prepping) and/or because of their money or status.

Majority of us are not like our counterparts. We don’t have the money or resources to stand alone for extended periods of time. Alone, we cannot afford to build, store, and protect our hard work forever. We don’t own abandoned salt mines with all the perks. We do the best we can with what we have.

We will have to seek help from others eventually. Granted, initially, we will be on our own, but we cannot function this way forever. We will need contact with others.

Our individual, and collective, futures will depend on it.

            • Wojo, if preppers already have a few years’ in storage for themselves and their families, AND keep their mouths shut about it [OPSEC], no need to stand in any line for anything. I’ll be at the BOL before the balloon goes up.

              • Hmmm….,hide while the govt. final looting/takeover takes place under the auspices of martial law, nope.I and hopefully many others will be fighting 4th gen style, places of our time and choosing though sometimes fate chooses the time, then, just fight on regardless of outcome for you personally.

                • Bobane, I just finished reading a few articles at that site. It’s an interesting site, but I’ve never seen one date-setter who was accurate about anything.

                  • They even have a link to a handy countdown clock:

                    ht tp://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20160605T12&p0=64&fg2=ff605a&msg=Tribulation

                • Chicken skin,,,,,
Maybe thats the day we have a big shake, what a freaky deal that would be if something does happen

                  • In New Bern, NC there was a rumor going around at school that the world was going to end on March 16, 1965. The day went by and nothing happened. The very next day, we got hit by a big tornado. Some people were very worried that night. The wind was howling and the night sky was glowing red. I don’t know how, but the airport on one side of us had heavy damage, and a concrete block country store on the other side of us was blown to pieces. We only had a minor leak at the top of my bedroom wall. It never leaked again after that.

                    • OK,so,June 5,2116 is the beginning of the end of times, noon,Chicago time.I doubt this will be different then most days but someday things will fall, guess there is a 1 in 365 chance tis right. This, according to above mentioned link.I will try and enjoy everyday while doing a bit each day to prep for tomorrow, seems to work.

                    • Archivist, while it’s possible something COULD happen on that day, it doesn’t NECESSARILY mean that it will. Just treat it like all the other days is all anyone can do. I’ll be headed back to the BOL that same week. I’ve seen too many date-setters over the years get egg on their faces to believe in them. All anyone can do is wait and see.

                    • I’m just saying other people were worried. I wasn’t. We just went to the center of the house and waited for the storm to end.

            • Standing in line you can gather intelligence, but let no one get Intel on you.

Just be one of the hungry dirty masses. Gather Intel. Watch for the government double cross, it will come. Be ready to run if you smell a rat.

Smart people have more than 1 year of food on hand. I have pondered the last few times in the Grocery store, what if this time, is the last time I can buy groceries before our collapse begins, and looting sets in. Not if, but when.

And I grab a few more cans of my Fav foods. For a well balanced diet.

~WWTI… Look for the New Movie Out Amerigeddon. Martial Law and New World Order tries to control the masses with their caused Collapse and Tyranny.

          • WhoTFknows

            Rat Tar Tar. Hahahahahaha!

Those people on “Alone” are eating right now. HaHAHAHA!

          • The gulch next to my house is real deep, the rats will eat anything i throw in there in a couple days, pick the bones clean

        • don’t look now, anonymous, but you got an OPTIMISM problem!

        • Civilization is an illusion.
Civilization hangs by a spiders thread from Total collapse and chaos.
That is how it is Today. That is how it has Always been. So calm down good people.

Life has Always been a struggle for Most People. Famine, War, Disease, Invasion, Criminal Kings, Criminal Politicians, have ALWAYS been with humanity.
We have had a few years of relative Peace and Relative “safety”.
But those days are drawing to an end. Unfortunately.

The collapse, chaos, turmoil, is being caused and unleashed, by a handful of super rich, Bankers, and the CRIMINAL corrupt LIAR Politicians. Politicians controlled by Bankers are INTENTIONALLY DESTROYING our civilization, our Economy, and they are trying to start a NUCLEAR war. Insanity.

Our own President and corrupt, criminal, LIAR, bought off, Politicians are DESTROYING the USA. They are a FIFTH column destroying the country intentionally from within. Destruction of freedom, family, economy, by design.

Rome was destroyed INTERNALLY. History repeats today.

Get squared away. Get right with God. Might get sporty.

          • All you post is true yet if Obama ran for a third term he would win. This place is beyond saving.

          • aint it funny how when history repeats itself, the price always goes up.

          • Yep. One of the biggest problems standing in the way of their NWO is a strong USA. The reason we are watching it be destroyed is because we’ve allowed communists and fascists NWO thugs to infiltrate and they are destroying the military by keeping us at constant war weakening our defense, perverting the military and our society in every way imaginable I.E. letting polotically correct communist homosexuals take it over.

Eventually the USA will be in a situation like Venezuela, but the only difference is that it will be 1000 times worse.

        • The sick thing is, if the fricking leftist in our govt start taking in Venezualan “refugees”, these people will come to the USA and all vote for the same freakin socialism that led them to this disaster in their own country.
Happens over and over–guatamalans, Mexicans, Hondurans, Salvadorans–they come here and vote for those who give them free shit and then riot in a few years when the teet runs dry and their kids are hungry……..so very tired…

      2. USA will have the same happen here soon.. They are testing all these other nations out to see how things play out… USA want to grab our guns first…

        • Dusty, these are not tests, the situation in Venezuela is the result of failed policy. Socialism/communism does not work. I also happen to agree with anonymous in that this horrible scenario will visit us within 5 years. Everyday is an opportunity. Stay quiet Be smart.

          • This should be sent to all Bernie Sanders voters.

          • Jacknife, uh, 5 years? I can only WISH I had 5 more years for prepping. We don’t have even 1 year, let alone 5. I expect what’s happening in Venezuela right now to happen here sometime this year. According to Baltic Dry Index, there’s very little to no container ships coming to the US right now. Food shortages here in the US are much closer than anyone realizes. Won’t matter what form of payment you have. THERE HAS TO BE PRODUCT AVAILABLE, PERIOD. Going to be a long, hot summer.

            • Brave heart
Go visit ‘wakeupbabylon.com’ for THE DATE.

              • No need, tis 6/05/2116 if you believe the article in link.Noon central US time tis the beginning,if you believe it.My daily path will stay the same,a emp or something else can hit today, either way,am ready as I guess I can reasonably be with limited resources, though building em a bit each day including skills.

                • Warchild, while something could happen that day, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will. Date-setters ALWAYS end up with egg on their faces. Just have to wait and see.

                  • I have to agree with you here. After the Shemitah excitement fizzled out last fall,in spectacular fashion, I now listen to what people have to say with their idea of “when” the collapse will take place, but then continue to methodically get my preps in place to the extent my resources and ability allow. I might accelerate things a little bit around the time of one of the prognosticated dates, but waiting on doomsday is a stressful way to live and I have had enough stress in my life as it is. One of the posters in this thread recently stated that according to his extensive study, May (Friday) the 13th was supposed to be the day a big market meltdown would begin. I listened to what he had to say, looked around to see if there was anything that needed to be bumped up on the prep priority list and went about my business. I still had a great weekend out at the BOL and still managed to enjoy a cold beer or two. Life rolls on. The one thing to remember about most of these guys time/date specific predictions of doom is that for SHTF is that the data that the data they are using to make the predictions is usually flawed or corrupted. Using charts to predict the stock market makes no sense to me since the charts today are based on a fraudulent market and make believe data. People have been predicting the time and date of the Tribulation for a long long time. Raise your hand if you remember Y2K! All of these prophets have been wrong so far. I guess there may be some very sick people pulling the levers of power who have a date picked out for the start of doomsday, but I do not personally know any of them and I doubt that they are telling too many others of their plans. We all know that a very big SHTF moment is coming sooner than later, what shape it will take and when it will happen is anybody’s guess. But if you are going to place a certain amount of anxiety into peoples lives with a date certain SHTF prediction , at least admit that to a certain extent you are guessing and do not pretend to have some superior insight and wisdom gained from years of study. If you can’t do that then go post your revelations over at BIN where it will be more warmly greeted.

            • You could be right but I said WITHIN 5 years. I won’t argue a timeframe when the bible says no one knows the day or the hour except the Father. Jesus did explain a timeframe using parables which I believe we are living in today. That’s why I say everyday is an opportunity.
              Stay quiet Be smart.

              • Was not referring to you J.K. Your thoughts and ideas are always a good read. Best wishes always.

      3. I am very concerned as to where this country will be in five years. Maybe less than that time. The bank bail ins. Negative interest rates. The National Debt. Inflation. Derivatives. Housing crisis with the bad loans by banks.
Unemployment, Retirement, Social Security, Government Assistance to include Medical.

It might get real for us as it is in Venezuela.

      4. Being well rounded in prepper terms, means having food in store.
I hope all here have done that already.

Because we are the smart ones….

        • That where most here are only 25% (which is still good) prepared. There are stackers, that think buying supplies and guns is all they need. then there is the gardeners, and the skilled workers, and the smallest group is the physically fit ones. Very few have all four categories covered. It increases your odds of surviving and being able to provide for family and friends if you prepare in all 4 categories. Stacking alone and running (attempting) off to a BOL hours away by car, or weeks by foot, lowers your survivability by a whole lot…slim to none. Especially if you are not in great condition.

          • Dave in ID, I agree all 4 categories should be covered. On bugging out, your best bet is to go early BEFORE the balloon goes up. If you’re already at a BOL when it happens your chances of survival increase significantly.

          • Dave, while not suicidal am not long for the breakdown.I am stacked, know folks with gardens that would like me around in challenging times/work takes me too far from homestead for beyond much excepting stealth potatoes, they grow sometimes/some seasons not.I have my two places to rest me head when working pretty well stacked/hike a lot along with as a carpenter so basic conditioning covered but running long distance with a full ruck/not so much, yet!I will see atricities that no matter the odds will fight and probably die doing so,some though need to be fodder and go for it from the start, not let the insanity dig in/entrench itself without fear at point of spear that they also can/will die.I really as no one depending on me too m,uch can go this route, and,am comfortable with this though not looking forward to it.

          • Dave in Idaho.

You just covered a multitude of prepper sins. ;0)
Hardest is getting better in shape.

            On gathering food.

You might want to look into some live traps/cage type. Of course you can use conibears and snares to improve your catch. Also decoys. Duck, geese, turkey, dove, deer ( yes I have seen the archery target deer get molested by other deer)and I have added crow (Halloween Prop) to the list. All those animals that you have stuffed and placed in your man cave, might get you a meal. I am going to use small mirrors to see how they affect squirrels. (12×12 glass) Almost forgot to mention all the “Game Calls” that you can use.

Again it might be good to get a CO2 or pump pellet rifle or pistol. Low velocity 22 cal. ammunition.

            • @ Anon….I have snare and leg traps, but really need to get some live traps too. turkey decoys sound interesting, although they are more than plentiful here, when they get “thinned “out, would be helpful. @ Warchild….yep. physical fitness here is like the clap, everyone changes the subject or just ignores a comment and goes back to talking about stacking. Poblem is, that fitness is just as important, if not more, than stacking. Hard work is also a form of fitness. You don’t have to be a runner to be in good conditioning. It is important to do some kind of cardio and weight conditioning. the person that can hike up 10 to 20 degrees for a few miles will get that remote deer that others can’t. The best prepping is to practice.

              • Dave in Idaho,

You are right about needing to be fit and also about no one wanting to talk about it! I weight trained when I was younger, but haven’t for 10 years. Now I expend a fair amount of energy shoveling and going up and down my hill. I know I can walk a for hours. Still, I am not in good shape like when I was young. Another part of good shape is eating natural foods with sufficient nutrition to keep your body working well.. and Americans are not talking about that either! Even our health food stores sell more supplements than nutritious food. As we get older it is harder, but for women especially, our bones weaken if we never built strength.

Even thinking rationally and clearly are hard to do if you eat poorly and do not exercise. An American failing is that we betrayed our own bodies and our health. .

              • Glue corn to the trip pan on a steel trap to catch turkey. Soaked corn on a fish hook will catch stuff also. I also like conibar type traps. A wire mesh funnell trap will catch fish. A large treble hook hung from a springy limb and baited with meat will catch carnivores. Deer can be caught in a snare. I read in the Book Centennell about a way to store lead and gunpowder. You make a lead box and size it to hold enough powder to shoot the lead when its molded into bulletts. the powder is sealed in the lead container and stays dry and can be cashed until needed. I believe in 100 pound bottles of LP. it keeps forever and can power a gas engine or cook food, heat your BOL and run a refrigerator. I took a old 1940,s LP M farmall tractor. Rusty looking old thing. but it runs well. I cut off a stump to where the rear housing just cleared it . Then placed the tractor over the stump and let the air out of the tires. Removed the Radiator Magnito and carb and regulator. plugged the intake and exhaust and water outlets with oily rags and pulled the spark plugs and filled the cyls with heavy oil and installed spark plugs with the porcelan part broke off. and jammed a piece of wood in the flywheel locking up the engine. Anyone who happened on it would think its just junk. However I could have it running in a couple of hours. and Ive got a spark plug device that will air up the tires. I hid all the parts and tools needed to put it back in service in a remote place. Don’t need a battery with the magneto and hand crank. And if something should happen to that old tractor we own three more M Farmalls the LP stuff would fit on. and it could be made to fit almost any old 4 cyl tractor that the magneto would fit on.

                • The lead box sounds interesting but will be honest, just have premade/reload stashed in weather/corrosion tight containers. My guess is I survive long enuff to need it,well, things still dicey and will want it on the fly as it were.
I do not have grandkids ect. so really don’t see a long term for me,that said, old school might be good for future generations as the rebuild if there is one will be slow, black powder has worked well for centuries and tis easy in comparison to making/feeding more modern firearms.

        • Eppe, yes we are the smart ones. I’m still stacking for home and for the BOL. I’ll be back in GA in 3 weeks.

          • Braveheart1776.

I often wonder if you ever get tired of stacking. Doing a long haul from Memphis, Tn. to Georgia would wear me out. Although seeing family is a comfort.
What I do find is as our battlefield changes so does our preps. Then there are times of great inspiration and genius that changes everything and I find that challenging as I do not Go With The Flow as many do.
Yet it can be very tiring. Glad I am not a Gamo. Recalculating, Recalculating. ;0)

The only other thing I can say is that I believe time is short because there are too many variables that can go south in a heartbeat.

            • Anon, yes those trips are long and hard. They definitely take something out of me. I get ‘prepper fatigue’ on occasion just like anyone else. But if I stop prepping, and become like the SHEEPLE, then I’m signing my own death warrant. I believe that “going with the flow” is totally counterproductive. Eventually, one of these trips will be my final trip, the bugout trip. Once I’ve finally bugged out, then I’ll be bugging in. There is NO alternative to prepping as far as I’m concerned.

              • we don’t have to worry about what’s coming, BECAUSE we are prepared for what’s coming…..bring it….it’s well past time for the reset.

              • Totally agree, “there is no alternative to prepping”. It is the adult thing to do.

      5. Hard times are coming. Obama at a commencement speech blamed preppers for getting ready for civil war. He should wise up and change those policies that motivate those to get ready. He’ll start acting out on the prepper movement by collecting food and guns and material to get the rest to fall into line. keep an eye out folks!

        • The Democrats are famous for blaming somebody else for
the problems that occur on their watch. Yes, the Republicans are not much better but I have never heard a democrat take responsibility for his or her actions and become accountable. I’m tired of hearing it is Bush’s fault and nothing is done to fix the problem. So it grows like a cancer. I have no good words for the jerk in the White House. Get ready for Hillary.

          • Hard to get ready for Hillary: Don’t know who sells Barf Bags.

            • Paranoid, LOL. Good one.

          • “I’m tired of hearing it is Bush’s fault”

Blame the predecessor, but by all means continue upon their path.

Economy crashes, causes are primarily deregulating the financial sector and secondary the decline of the middle class from Free Trade. The flow path is Bush 41 tried to do it, Clinton did it, Bush 43 let it continue, Obama campaigned against it and is attempting to expand it with TPP.

            Then comes Trump……hopefully, game over.

            • You hope? Hope is like when you feel you’re going to fart and end up shitting yourself. That’s what hope will do for you.

        • If he blamed us for getting ready for a war; that’s likely the first true thing he’s said in years.

        • Jim In Va……If Obama said that then Amen to his speech since I am ready for war. My enemy is those in power selecting criminals like Obama, Bush’s, Clinton’s etc. I won’t wait for any trial and no prisoner taken.

        • Jim, we all know something deadly serious is coming. If Obama and company feel froggy, let them go ahead and jump. I have something called bullets to take care of that.

      6. Anon, I doubt many of the Venezuelans imagined it five years ago. In spite of their lousy political system they had a pretty good economy – until the price of oil tanked! Didn’t someone once say something about putting all your eggs in one basket?

        • OldFart

We will know it is time when they shut down the internet, cell phones and the T.V. will have the Emergency Broadcast System, barking instructions to the Sheeple of America.

Might even have the D.C.jerk reading off his teleprompter. Nope. He will be out playing golf.

      7. Socialism.

        • they ran out of other people’s money

      8. Welcome to Bernie Sanders America.. Of course, it will be different here, cuz Bernie knows how to do socialism the right way…. (Of course I’m not serious!!)

        • Attacking welfare / EBT cards is attacking the symptom. The ranks of their users has dramatically grown since 2008. That caused this to happen? There lay the cause and knowing it the solution.

      9. Sell some of that bounty of oil cheap and feed your people, that’s the humane thing to do. But no, greedy corporate inhuman assholes want 100% control of Venezuela and it’s resources, the people can die. The millions of poor there discarded for the few wealthy who hate the poor of their own nation. Same thing here in America. That’s the thing about greedy hogs running the world, their money can never decrease and must always be mounting higher. Pure psychopaths in an explosive entitled rage to defend their pathocracy. Do you see any pushback of warmongering in America? Hell no. The youth of America today are plain brainwashed stupid, unlike the late 60s when youth and citizen discontent of the Vietnam war was a huge factor in ending that war.

        • No corporate assholes in Venezuela. Years ago the government booted the oil companies out in the nationalized oil industry. The government or the thieves

          • NPPH, in Venezuela, the government ARE the thieves.

        • “he youth of America today are plain brainwashed stupid, unlike the late 60s when youth and citizen discontent of the Vietnam war was a huge factor in ending that war.”

Youth today to a great degree are being carried by their parents old money. In the 1960s the youth had the draft so it impacted THEM. Let that draft come back, include women too as TPTB already having your wallet desire your children for cannon fodder. Pushback is coming. Its in an incipient stage with Trump and Sanders that are just sounding the caxton. Regardless how they fare this is not going away.

It matters little if the greed that is so great that it collapses society comes from Wall Street or Government.

      10. They will definetly target folks who had enough sense to build stockpiles. To the socialist gov we are all the same in that thinking them confiscating your supplies for redistribution is where they will begin once the stores are cleaned out. It’s not hard to see the ebt crowd out numbers the paying folks. I have no doubt that if people become hungry they will be dangerous especially with all the firearms out there. Folks you better be ready to hole up at your place.

        • Asshat, I’ve got another supply run to my BOL in 3 weeks. How long will I be there this time? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Good question…..

        • Local cops might pillage your stores but unless you have a Wall Mart warehouse your insignificant to the official authorities.

          • Kevin2, where my BOL is located, no worry there. The local cops are NOT that kind. Plus, ANYONE who tries to take anything from us will get something they DON’T want instead.

      11. Oil Reserves? Hmmm….

Sounds like someone is ripe for a regime change.

The Venezuelan Army will rally around the food storage, and bullets will be deployed.

        • Ben Raines, I agree on the regime change. Only hope I see for Venezuela at this point. I can’t believe there’s NOT a percentage of their military willing to oust Maduro.

          • They got to get rid of Maduro, he was a bus driver, dumber than a bag of hammers.

      12. Are Venezuelans armed ? Not hard to believe its coming here to your country and mine both have corrupt systems we all just had more of a cushion that’s all. It is wearing out though. With the way USA is going you guys are headed for a civil war the whole world knows it.
The topic of the American political situation cones up often and everyone I talk to seems to agree … your country is too far down the path to turn back. I’ve heard many hear say they are afraid and I’m seeing more and more people here take a hard line against Americans. Most of us Canadians can not for the life of us figure out this intense seething hatred towards Jews blacks. We totally get the Mexican illegals. We have immigration problems too. But where does this hated towards blacks and Jews come from.
We just don’t have that level of hatred towards anyone and we seem to get along well enough. Myself I have Asian friends native friends black friends I’m sure I have a Jewish friend too (but I wouldn’t know unless he told me) no one here really cares what colour religion or where you come from.
Lol sorry for the rant folks
In other news Ive been home a few days now and I must say after the last 5weeks I’ve had what I honestly think were my finest hours. I’ve run down Buffalo on horseback played the games eared tribal honors fought one if the largest forest fires in our history what next ? I’m not sure maybe a few weeks in the bush and start prepping a 10’x10 hunting cabin.

        • Beaver, actually more another war of succesion, civil war means you want to take over the @ moment govt.,many just want it to leave us alone, hence, succesion.Yes, it will be a blood bath and in theory you maple leafs govt. has agreed to help quell unrest with your military in the US(and vice versa),hope they are smart enuff not to do it.

        • angry beaver

“But where does this hated towards blacks and ews come from”.

Good question. I am going to leave it alone.

We should ask ourselves what has happen to our country?

I agree for civil rights and I agree there should be legal immigration and the government should work for the people.

We should have a thread with a title of. “What do you find wrong with people”.

To exclude race, color, religion and ethnic background. Think as if we were all manikins.

Thanks for your epic story. A once in a lifetime experience.

        • @ angry beaver…I will try to lead you in the direction to answer your race question on blacks and illegals. First you must look at the FBI crime statistics on percent of population /percent of crime, then the gov preference programs shoved down qualified potential employees verses “color” qualified. Then look at the “black Leaders” and La Raza, on the rhetoric they spew against whites. Then compare all the data with other minorities that have came to America in the last 150 years, such as the asians, Hmong, chinese, Africans (real ones) etc. All the crime data, and so called leaders (there are not any for these groups) . Compare.

      13. What everyone should do is to promote food independence but keep purchasing food so that the food producers continue to stay alive. Not everyone is up to running a farm. People who own their own home should be encouraged to plant trees that provide nourishment. If people in the city have balconeys or porches, there are porch sized trees. You can grow food and herbs in pots on your porch. Even house plants can be edible. Everyone can help so that no one starves.
Of course family first but I’m thinking this is really a National movement to secure the lives of all Americans. A revival of the Victory Garden. A vegtable garden in every back yard. That is my goal for America.

        • B of CA
That is my goal, increase the number of gardens. In 2007 we had about 23 million gardens. Now we have about 45 million gardens. Not to mention small farmers. I don’t like to count on farmers because they tend to withhold food when there Iis no money… as in the Germans starving with nothing on shelves to buy… and the stores filling up the day the Allies took over. We will not be able to rely on farmers to feed us if the money system is in chaos.
My version of fitness is me attached to the working end of a shovel these days. Potted 4 bare root trees today and trimmed them back. 2 hazelnuts, 1 redbud (edible beans), and a red oak (edible nuts). Be niceIif I live to see them produce. Bartlett Pear leafing out, so are Elderberries and apples. Garden is packed. Gotta keep moving forward.

          • Rebecca,

A year ago I planted 4 fruit trees, you may recall my complaining about the hard work digging.

I tended them and trimmed them late this winter.

This spring they look beautiful. Lots of blossoms, but I’ll pick off most of the buds and just let a few treats mature. The trees grew really well last year.

Every year my trees get bigger, stronger and will produce more, just as this government gets weaker and our nation produces less.

Anyone out there reading this, plant now. Venezuela took years to hit rock bottom. It’s time for people to take Rebecca’s advice and plant a home vegetable garden. It could save your life.

            • Plan Twice
Thanks. Fruit trees are wonderful producers. I have planted a few 3 years in a row. This is my 4th year and I planted hazelnuts… and the redbud. I have a few more apple trees coming along too. Apples, pears, and plums are super easy. Fruiting mulberry are wonderful and a good herbal medicine.
I started my blog to encourage people to grow a garden and to eat native plants too. Wild day lilie are edible and I just added 50 to my garden. Never mind potatoes, barley, asparagus, peas, radishes, carrots, cabbages, turnips, onion, garlic,, and about 150 starts on warm season vegetables still in the house. Herbs. Tea plants. Even prickly pear fruits!

            • That is exactly right. It took years for things to get to this point in Venezuela. I was watching an older youtube about the Tower of David in Caracas, an unfinished skycraper that was taken over by squatters essentially. The residents were all praising the government for letting them stay there- and to the degree they could, they turned parts of that building into decent apartments. But, in all of that time there could have been roof gardens and water catchment going on in the upper stories where no one wanted to live (because of the long hike upstairs without an elevator). Not to mention the hike being a deterrent to thievery as a thief would have to pass some pretty narrow and treachorous channels to get up there. For all the time those people spent queueing in line, they could have had a full garden by now. But when you are two days away from going hungry it is too late.

          • By Redbud exactly what tree do you mean? Why Red Oak? White Oak Acorns are lower in acid and make better flower?

            • Flower? my how spelling does sometimes go it’s own way.

              • Paranoid,
Redbud, as in Cercis Canadensis. A member of the bean family. I have cooked and eaten the bean seeds for years. The red oak was given free with my order, which included a Bur Oak that I purchased, a type of white oak, it has less tannin in the nuts and easier to leach them out for flour. Red oaks are high in tannins but do leach out. I hang the nuts out in the rain for leaching. I use food from various trees, easier than gardens and good opsec. Today I planted 4 of 14 trees I received. I expect rain, a good time to plant. I planted a red oak last year also and it is leafing out. I kept it in a pot until fall and planted it then. Spring is a poor time to plant here.

                • @ Rebecca, spring here is the best time to plant …..after the ground thaws. I will be planting the garden in a few days. I will send some pics. The pigs weigh over 200 lbs. July 13th is their RIP (rest in pieces) date. The digging and block stacking you are doing is excellent physical conditioning. I bet you can out lift/work quite a few of us “stackers” here.

                  • Dave in Idaho,
I worked out on Nautilus equipment for a long time, 20 years or so… I have strong bones! I have moved 5 tons of block and should order more pallets. I doubt I could out arm wrestle you but I am stronger and less fearful than many women (disconcerting to some men). As a hick from the sticks, a little strength helps.

Yummy little piggies! I am jealous for sure… but at some point I will raise one for me and one for sale (I am learning).

Wednesday I am off to begin learning beekeeping, now that I have seeded out zillions of wildflowers for them, and the perennials are getting established.

                    • I could let you win!!!!

                    • Dave in Idaho
                      now that’s a plan

          • Rebecca.

Depending on where you live and what fruit tree would be best for that area. Why not ask if everyone plant one fruit tree in their yard.

            • Anon
I ask that everyone plant one fruit tree in their yard. Please.

              • I’m with you two; I’ve planted more fruit trees that I can count, but tropical weather “modifies” what will grow. Have about 30 coconut trees (you’d be surprised what can be done with them) and most every other tree that will grow and take here. Brazilian cherries, acerola cherries, bananas, plantains, breadfruit, tons of avocados, mangoes, orange, grapefruit, pineapple..we will not starve unless forced off this land. And they have to find us first. It’s good to be bugged out already.
Bees? No worry, occasionally we hear a huge hive fly by overhead. And we stay absolutely motionless when we hear them. Killer bees did not breed well with the locals on their way from S. America, but we take no chances anyway.

Ditto, give me a piece of dirt and in a few years I will eat like a queen. That is why owning a piece of land is the most important to me. No water? I will use native edibles.

              • Most fruit trees, apples, peaches plums need another tree from different stock or variety to cross pollinate with. Not all varieties can cross pollinate. Some research when buying is necessary.

                • Plan Twice,
True enough. Most folks living in town have pollinators close enough to take care of that. Where I now live, no such thing. My closest apple tree is about a half mile down the road. Even self-pollinating trees usually produce better with a partner. For named varieties like apples, for example, pick 2 different varieties. A quick Internet search will give you partner names. In addition, crabapple will pollinate apples.
In Dallas, I once planted fruit trees in front of every neighbors’ house on my block. Two by two all the way down. In return for part of the harvest, of course. Where there is a will there is a way.
When young my first house was in a neighborhood with a lot of older folks who could no longer handle the fruit from their mature fruit trees. I harvested and shared with them. Canned fruit is great for elderly neighbors on fixed incomes… and many liked the visits. Didn’t hurt to keep an eye on them, either. Think outside the box.
When I was older, the young couple next door hated the “mess” from their pear tree. I harvested and preserved every pear. They got rid of the “mess” for free. Be open to manna from heaven.

      14. I notice certain websites are no longer accessible, at least on this device. Counterpunch, I haven’t been able to get for six months, now whatreallyhappened has been blocked for a couple of weeks. Can anyone else log onto these sites?

        • aljamo.

I have noticed some blocking of new sites that I wanted to explore for info.

        • Aljamo –

Whatreallyhappened is my goto, everyday #1 Site. [sorry Mac ツ]

Though Mike Rivero’s site gets attacked on a daily basis from outsiders – he is for the most part able to get it back up and running in a quickly manner.

Whatever this device you are using – is the problem!
I have never encountered [whatreallyhappened] being down for a whole day – the most, maybe only a couple of hours.

          • Site seems to be running just fine, say your device/os/service provider tis the issue.

        • Alijamo:

Heard today that the owner of the Internet has upped censorship. But I have come across things that were but are not now. I think there are legal battles. Some can’t afford to fight city hall. But thanks to those who do. They’re helping all of us.

          • B from CA
I have read that searches that run through China are subject to China’s rules for content and since China keeps adding capacity, more searches go through them. That was supposed to be why you can pick up a site on one search but not on another. Any tech folks out there who could confirm this?

        Frederic Bastiat, 1801-1850

And yes, all those Bernie Sanders supporters actually ARE that stupid to think this time it will be different… after it has failed in Venezuela, Argentina, the USSR, Zimbabwe, Greece, Portugal, Red China and yes, my Canada had its own crisis under Paul Martin in the 1990s until they abandoned the extreme leftist stupidity (and then voted in Harper)

      17. Do y’all remember when zero was ADVERTISING for folks to go on welfare? They WANT this to happen, people. They’ve been planning on it.

      18. I thought people had to be skinny to die of starvation. Those people in the video were fat. Also when people panic and start destroying property they should be shot. Why can’t people stay calm. If they have the energy to riot then they sure as hell are getting caloric intake from somewhere. Venezuelans, don’t be like the Ethopians: Move to where the food is.

        • So you are saying don’t do anything until you have starved to the point you have no strength left, then leave your country to the thieves. Don’t resist the scum, let them win. Wow. hope I get you in range,

      19. In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends

This country needs to come together and root out these evil bastards or this game they are playing will end us all

      21. Thanks for the heads up on those sites. Mac can’t be upset about whatreallyhappened because it is listed up above and I have read some of his articles on that site and commented here through that site.

      22. Maybe the predicted 90% die off isn’t that unrealistic. We are certainly not immune to a food shortage. Even though im old im fit. I can walk all day. And I have a pack donkey the can do the same carrying 250 pounds. I have a remote cave that stays 58 degrees year round . and it has water inside it. Me and mine are gonna wait until the die off is over. And when I come out I will deal very harshly with any trespasser I find on my land.

Give Jack an apple for me. He can eat apples?

      23. B got a mulberry tree and crab apple tree plant a garden too I could technically grow all my food and jar it for year round consumption. Just keep the garden going till the ground freezes. After about 4 months it thaws and can start growing again. Bag a couple deer some turkeys and raise rabbits too. I like the rabbits killing ugly chickens is easier than cute little bunnies though. I would do more but I work for a corporation which consumes the best hours of the day. The wife likes the garden and helps me out a lot. I could do a garden 10 X the size of what i do. I have the space to. It’s just the amount of labor would take all my time to manage it all. It would be a full time job without pay. The only thing that stops me from it is time and labor. It wouldn’t be smart to start a garden that is too big to manage to get more food than I ever needed. The mulberries are excellent the tree was here when I bought the house. Same for the crab apple tree. If I went out and shook the mulberry tree till I got all the berries down I’d have about 2 five gallon buckets full. I’ve thought about making wine. They could be made into jellies or preserves to use later or for barter later. Make hard cider out of the apples. Pies you name it. It’s nice to have the trees they are no work at all. Well established healthy trees don’t happen over night takes years to get the trees from saplings to produce. Well worth it though if you got the space.

        • Asshat:

Sounds like you have done a good job of providing food for your family.

I completely concur with your approach of minimizing the size of your garden. In the modern world we currently live in, balance makes for a better existence. Besides, it is the skill you learn with a small garden that is all you need, in an emergency, your garden can always be expanded.

          • The garden if keep some seeds can also always be started elsewhere if one needs to leave.I do when working other areas buy as I can from local growers/eggs ect. This should be done by all as to get more folks who want to do this on small scale business see the worth of it.The more smaller scale operations we have country wide growing food, the better.I still also stay stocked up on beans/rice/canned goods ect.

        • Asshat
plant a redbud… edible seeds similar to lentils and zero work until harvest. I have always had a food forest, trees are so easy and provide masses of food. Hazelnuts are quick and easy.

      24. Would be worst here. More people are armed. The bloodshed will be unspeakable.

      25. Nothing to worry about …. the billions of rounds of manstoppers and M16 rifles Obammy has been buying for the US post office and Social Security are just for target practice …

if you believe that – Moosehell’s private bathroom is open to visiting Bruce Jenner wannabes ….

        • “Nothing to worry about …. the billions of rounds of manstoppers and M16 rifles Obammy has been buying for the US post office and Social Security are just for target practice …”

Huh? … guess I had heard it all wrong – I thought that was going to be resupply stations for people like you and I?

Thought the head chief black man was doing a nice gesture for once for the public … and now I get this shitty upsetting news?

          • Easy FTW!Do not get too upset! You along with millions of others have faced this ugly reality and have gotten thru it!I know, you think your loving/benevolent govt. is looking out for their citizens, helping them ready if country say invaded ect.

I hat to be the one but someone needs to let you know, all the firearms they purchased are not for citizens!Once again,a shock but tis part of the hard fact facing whe n one is prepping!

Yep,you want firearms and ammo you have to do it on your own,a sad but true fact.Good news is you are at a good place to get some basic info. on firearms to fulfill your needs,so,start asking questions and you will get some ideas,we are here for you!

I when I came to this realisation also started wondering if the huge plastic boxes at camp fema really were welcome to summer camp cake molds, you know, step off Th omas the train at camp and a piece of welcoming cake, still think that is true!As for the hermatically sealed doors at camp, well, obviously for our personal comfort to keep out insects ect.

              • FTW, man, he missed that one didn’t he, lol?

      26. Anonymous,
I hear ya. I see no hope in the D/R corporate machine and its corruption.

      27. Hi, if any of you are still interested in what would happen to america of a SHTF hit the economy I strongly burgh you to look at the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and Rita. It played out on a small scale there.

        • and walmart on black-eye-day, if you want an even smaller scale.

      28. Oh the communist fux will tell you that socialism wasn’t implemented correctly and that is why it is failing there in Venezuela.

Communists, socialists, fascists, progressives, democrats, new age modern liberals, and many RINOs are not Americans, they are parasites to this republic. They are ticks and leeches on the ass of Americans, sucking the blood and life out of everything good that the USA stands for… Truth, liberty, justice, freedom, private property etc etc…

        • What they never bother to tell anyone is that “correctly” doesn’t exist in reference to socialism.

      29. Venezuela embraced socialism (Bernie Sanders) and communism. These ideas always end in misery. Voters need to learn from history. It is much less painful than first hand experience.

      30. You know something. I have nor comment..I heard some disturbing things yesterday..not only is my business going down the gutter, the oil business is shutting down lam the major projects because they have to go to other alternative energy sources, so go figure.. I heard from my source the scientist that things are going to go ape sh..t here but won’t kick into high gear until 2017. It could start any time.

        HCKS..

        • We have a poster saying6/05/2016 at noon chicago time is it,now 2017.Things could go wrong today or decades down the road, live for today and prep for tomorrow.

On a side note, what business you in.I will say for whatever reason construction on commercial/ residential end going strong it seems in New england. How and why is beyond me but take it while you can I guess.

        • judge jeanine for president, i say!

      31. Coming to a BIG City near you.

I can see this happening with in 4 years under a Clinton or Sanders. Socialism doesn’t work. We are at the tipping point right now.

Thank God I live in the country.

        Sgt.

        • speakin’ of tipping points, watch the show tipping point on one america news network(oann) at 7pm pst. i love liz wheeler, a real hard hitting gal that won’t put up with a liberal guest’s crap. she hits right back at them with both barrels….a real conservative’s news network….seems lately, even fox says things to piss off THIS conservative, so i watch OANN now.

      32. Socialism of the ‘Dutch Disease’ variety never works and always leads to a catastrophe. Chavez took the bounty of the oil money and gave it away to the poor and to poor countries. He never put it back into investing for the future of the oil industry cash cow. His behavior was akin to the Beverly Hillbillies before they got banking advice.

Two countries took the economic thoughts of Naomi Klein seriously: Argentina and Venezuela. Both countries are spinning around the toilet bowl in a major way.

        • I think its still working in Holland, Germany and Norway. The main difference? The ethics of the citizenry and governmental corruption.

          • germany?…..it’s still WORKING in germany?..PFFT!

      33. I showed my daughter that zerohedge article over the weekend while she was here with my grandkids. She was shocked at how bad it was there- people are just not aware of how bad and how close this is. Muchacho (no kidding, that’s his name) the head guy in Caracas says that there may be a huge wave of people fleeing to neighboring countries soon. He mentioned Columbia and Caribbean islands, but we all know we would be a destination too. The most telling videos coming out of Sean Pennland are in Spanish, made by individuals desperate for assistance. You can really get a sense of how they feel betrayed and are finally at an ideological nexus. The breaking point, I believe, was when the beer supplies dwindled recently because Maduro refused to allow Polar access to dollars to pay their suppliers for raw materials used to make the cerveza.

So, I’ll be putting up more canned meat this week. Yes, this is coming to us in one way or another in the not too distant future.

Avoid crowds if possible. Have a diversion pantry and safe. Use your out of date items for the diversion pantry. I, like many on here, am not going to stand in line unless we are in a slow burn situation that stretches out for months or years. Then, it would be a good disinfo tactic. But, I don’t really think that will be feasible in rural areas like mine anyway, unless food queues are set up at WMarts and Dollar Stores. The local churches are more likely to step up to the plate for real with local produce from growers within the community. But, as has been said already- if you can avoid standing in line for help, and avoid being noticed, that is really the best situation you can be in.

We are having dinner Friday with some friends who have a llama farm, and chances are high that these topics will come up. I am very grateful that I am not asleep anymore… i do fully believe that even the most minimally prepped family is light years ahead of the general populace in terms of what they will face. There will be incredible suffering.

      34. Tragedy in Venezuela; and others; why do the nations rage; is it because of faith, work ethic, politics, lack of knowledge, etc., what is it? Internal problems? External? Socialism is attempted when free market Capitalism has been overrun by Corporatism and debt slavery as implemented by politicians. People will run to where they can stay alive. In Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Brace yourself.

        • jpl_texas
most folks think socialism is a response to the failure of capitalism, but it is a response to the Bigs turning capitalism into oligarchy. The longer oligarchs are in place, the more people suffer. Capitalism is a harsh system and the Bigs hate it… oligarchy is socialism for the Big boys and it kills every economy in the history of the planet. Capitalism does give people hope that they can better their situation withhard work and good Iideas. Socialism is a bandage on oligarchy… spreading the protection out enough to not tumble the oligarchs… and why the oligarchs resort to it. The oligarchy’s worst nightmare is a return to capitalism because they only start buying the government because they aren’t truly competitive.

People that decry socialism and communism think it is about lazy breeders… but it is always brought in by lazy capitalists that buy the government to institute their socialist protections from competition. Once the Bigs get socialist protection it’ a downhill slide. The Bigs run that route to keep their perks in place until it runs it’scourse and kills the economy.

          • @Rebecca: Good words; free market capitalism (a la Adam Smith) would be great if we could only secure it from corruption and take over. There is nowhere to flee to. Education and skill is the only way to live within the system; otherwise, its to live as a food gatherer in the woods.

            • Jpl_texas
I have an education and job skills.
Right now I am more impressed with the skills I got from my parents for living in the woods and gardening. Today I am canning a portion of last year’s beans before they get so dry they can’t be cooked. I will plant a portion. Once new beans are at hand, I will can the last of that crop. Today’s batch is spicy beans because I am completely out. I will can a batch of plain next, but fewer than last year, since I have a few left. Then barley beans with bacon. After that, chickpeas. Black beans. Oops, grew too many beans. This year I am growing bolitas beans, dry peas, tepary beans.
I hope I can keep my land, shelter, food forest, and potager… plus all the food and herbs that I grow here.

      35. Like Greece and other countries, Venezuela is a proving ground for the global elite traitors to test reactions of their subjects when society collapses. The US government performed a similar test, albeit on a much smaller scale, when they shut off all EBT cards in one city while adding unlimited amounts to EBT cars in another. (No one ever mentioned the thieves in government used OUR tax money to pay for this crap!) In the city where the cards where shut down, riots ensued while in the city where cards were given unlimited amounts, people “bought” (with OUR money) as much as they could carry then went back for more.

Attention sheeple: This IS coming to America! WTF UP!!!
