Obamacare Success: Half of Georgia’s Insurance Enrollees Fail to Make Monthly Payment

The Obama administration has stated unequivocally that the debate concerning whether or not the Patient Affordable Care Act has been a success is over. They’ve won the argument and its evidenced by the tens of thousands of Americans who have signed up on exchanges across the country.

Here’s a small glimpse into just how successful Obamacare has been.

In Georgia, where some 650,000 people are eligible for subsidies only about 220,000 applications have thus far been received. So, to start, we’re about 70% short on the originally estimated sign up rate.

Even more successful than that, however, is that of those 220,000 received applications Georgia Health News reports that at least half of the applicants have failed to actually pay their monthly premiums even though most of those people are being subsidized by the government to some extent.

Georgia insurers received more than 220,000 applications for health coverage in the Affordable Care Act’s exchange as of the official federal deadline of March 31, state officials said Wednesday.

Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, though, said premiums have been received for only 107,581 of those policies, which cover 149,465 people.

“Many Georgians completed the application process by the deadline, but have yet to pay for the coverage,” Hudgens said in a statement Wednesday.

Obamacare is, apparently, so affordable that even people receiving massive discounts on their plans via government subsidization can’t make their payments.

Earlier this year it was noted that there would be a near instantaneous collapse of Obamacare services stemming from the fact that the system itself is predicated on the notion of having one group of people pay for the insurance of those in need. Well, when those people who have money fail to even sign up, let alone make payments, then those receiving full or partial subsidies will not be putting enough money back into the scheme to cover the overall costs. Karl Denninger explains how this arithmetic works:

You’re “27″, the average premium is $266.20/month or $3,194.40 per year.  How many 27 year olds have an extra $3,200 to spend on this?  Remember, this is the price that virtually every uninsured 27 year old must be willing — and able — to cough up in order to prevent the model this system is predicated on from collapsing.

If those 27 year olds don’t show up, and they won’t, then the system collapses instantly.  If they do show up because the government threatens them with fines the economy collapses as $3,200 a year exceeds the average 27 year old’s disposable personal income after mandatory expenses (e.g. food, shelter, etc.)  Remember, there are always exceptions but these premiums are averages and over large pools of people the statistical averages are what matters — not the ends of the barbell.

We realize that Common Core standards may have made it difficult for Obamacare proponents to work out the basic mathematics of it, but regardless of how you approach the problem, the answer always results in an unsustainable business model.

This isn’t just theoretical. The data from Georgie shows this phenomenon taking place in the real world right here and now.

What it all boils down to is this: Obamacare is dead in the water in less than a year and will require a massive overhaul or outright repeal.

As democrat Congressman Stephen Lynch pointed out on Boston Herald Radio last week, it’s only going to get worse from here and we should fully expect it to hit the fan in short order:

There are parts of Obamacare that have been postponed because they are unpalatable. As these provisions come into effect the administration thus far is saying ‘we really can’t handle this right now so we’re gonna delay it.’

These obligations keep piling up… it’s going to hit the fan.

That’s a huge tax. It’ll be the first time in this country’s history that we have actually taxed health care. We used to treat it like food… that people would die without it… don’t tax that. Well, we’re in a new day now.

I think it’ll be impossible for a repeal right now… You’ve taken on 31 million new people… you’re trying to provide health care for them.

The problem has always  been paying for it. You’ve got to rely on the other individuals who already have health care to pay for that.

This is what happens when you pass the bill without first reading the bill.

      1. And here I thought this shit sandwich was free!

        • So did a lot of people who voted for Obama.

It’s all fun and games until YOU have to go out of pocket for someone else.

I guess they thought only those who voted against the Messiah would have to pay…

          Reality’s gotta hurt.

Obamacare may well be the final nail in the coffin for this economy. Who can afford to pay $3000 – $10000 a year for insurance? Subsidized or not, this is going to hammer everyone.

          • Reality is a biatche!!!

            • Yeah, but who could have seen THAT coming?

It’s so surprising coming from such a competent administration and party.

              • @ Unreconstructed Southron,

“We had to pass it to find out what was in it.”

                Sigh………….

              • Despite NUMEROUS PROMISES from Obama, many are finding out that due to Obamacare, they may NOT keep their insurance plan or their doctor.

“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”

Under Obamacare, The Doctor WON’T See You Now
“Unless the ACA is redrafted to provide insurance coverage that most physicians and hospitals will accept, many patients will find that when they need medical care. The doctor in NOT in”

“States already are struggling under huge budget deficits from their existing Medicaid programs. Since states lose federal funding if they adjust their Medicaid eligibility guidelines, their only option for reducing deficits is to CUT already-low Medicaid reimbursement rates.”

Physicians already are reluctant to treat Medicaid patients under current rates that are a FRACTION of private and Medicare rates.

Cutting reimbursements will exacerbate the physician-access problem and could lead to closures of so-called “safety-net” hospitals that care for many of the poor and uninsured. These hospitals have long depended on federal Disproportionate Share (DSH) payments to offset the cost of caring for the uninsured.

But the ACA severely CUTS DSH payments on the assumption that the uninsured will gain either Medicaid or private insurance. If large numbers of patients remain uninsured, the financial difficulties of safety-net hospitals will be compounded by their obligation to provide uncompensated care.”

“Many people will NOT be able to see the physicians who have treated them for years, use facilities providing the most appropriate treatment, or access care within a reasonable time and distance from their homes. Some specialty hospitals have been excluded from all exchange plans.”

This is happening in MANY places…
Obamacare Patients DENIED ACCESS to Doctors, Hospitals, Cancer Centers

“Obamacare patients are discovering that many doctors, hospitals, and top cancer centers do NOT accept the plans they purchased.”

ConsumerWatch: Some Covered California Patients Say They Can’t See A Doctor

Patients enrolled in Obamacare find themselves…
                -stuck in ‘Medical Homelessness’
-Unable to find Doctors on the plan

“In some states, MANY of the newly insured (Obamacare) patients checked the physicians’ lists they were provided and were told they weren’t accepting new patients or they did not participate in the plan.”

These newly insured are having to go to clinics to see a doctor and get medical care.

How long do you think they will continue to pay their health insurance premiums?

                • What happens when the Doctors do not get paid?

                  • Changes will have to be made. The doctors and hospitals won’t be able to continue “as usual”, if they are NOT getting paid. They also have payrolls and other expenses to meet.

I predict wait times in doctor’s office will increase and we will see more doctors take early retirement.

              • Has anyone noticed Osama’s ears in the silhouette?

                LOL…

                I don’t think they’re big enough.

                • If his ears had been attached to the zeppelin, it might have stayed aloft.

                  • PO’d Patriot, that hole in the zeppelin is all the hot air about Obamacare since 2008 leaking out.

                • I noticed that right off and got a good laugh. Ya can’t see the other side of his head but I’m sure he’s smoking a big fat one.

                • He looks like curious george.

                  • dont insult Curious George like that, he’s CUTE!

                • Hello, Yo Mama. Yeah the ears were definitely too small.

              • Obamacare became less credible when they

put Jack Kevorkian as head of the board.

                • Or MORE credible?

                • Mich says:

“put Jack Kevorkian as head of the board.”

If one wishes to end their life, that is their choice. No one else has a claim otherwise!

If you feel this is not the case, you don’t understand or appreciate liberty!!!

A “Jack Kevorkian” role in ObamaCare is another matter entirely.

                  • Ezekiel Emmanual consulted the authors of the ACA, and he declared that rationing was crucial to the “success” of this law. The end-of-life panels will make sure that young and useful healthcare recipients get priority over the elderly. Not sure how our most benevolent oligarchy will provide care for those with mental and physical disabilities. Will the 19 y.o. illegal immigrant get better treatment than a 5 year old girl with cerebral palsy? Just asking!

                • Kevorkian died two years ago, perhaps a harbinger of things to come.

                  • Yo Mama and confederate, there might be some other Kevorkians out there that we don’t know about.

                  • At least you ‘get’ it, braveheart

                  • the renegade braveheart says:

“Yo Mama and confederate, there might be some other Kevorkians out there that we don’t know about.”

Very true. But why besmirch the reputation of Dr. Jacob “Jack” Kevorkian?

                • Apparently, telling the people the TRUTH about Obamacare was never that important.

                  Blueprint for Obamacare lies revealed

“Through segmented focus groups and a national telephone survey in 2006, we identified a set of values that drive these swing voters’ perceptions of reform,” wrote Lake and Crittenden.

They asserted that “VALUES” and “PERCEPTIONS” are more important than “FACTS” when selling health-care reform.”

          • Let it all collapse. I can’t wait to see Al Sharpton on the of NY, begging for food. 🙂

            • Negative financial impacts of Obamacare…

Although Obama promised people with Obamacare, they’d get LOWER premiums and could expect a raise. The opposite is happening.

March 15, 2010 – Obama speech in Strongsville, Ohio.
OBAMA: How many people are getting’ insurance through their jobs right now? Raise your hands? A’right. Well, a lot of those folks, your employer, it’s estimated,
would see premiums FALL by as much as 3,000%, which means they could give you a RAISE!

Think the insurance premiums are bad now, just wait until next year…

Health insurance premiums are set to skyrocket
“Insurance industry officials state that Obamacare health insurance premiums are set to skyrocket; some people will find theirs doubling or tripling over the next several months leading up to the November 4th midterm elections.”
              http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/03/19/Obamacare-Premiums-Set-to-Skyrocket

            • YMWW, if some kevorkians could be put to use on politicians, I can live with that.

          • If this keeps going, and it looks as though the ACA is here to stay, what is going to end up happening to people who fall outside the bell curve? I mean, we are all different, but when you go to a doctor today, your blood pressure, weight, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. is supposed to fit into this “box” and if it doesn’t, then it is assumed that you are doing something wrong.

What if you are a person who has high cholesterol naturally? The doctors are going to put you on high doses of meds to get that number down to what they deem “safe” levels. What if that “safe” level will harm you? The same for any other condition. If you then refuse to take meds that may harm you, are you then going to be prevented from other necessary health treatments until you “behave” yourself?

The road to hell is paved with good intentions, but this is all bull!

They will make you pay, and then they will take your treatments away.

            • Yeah, it would be nice to find a way to hide from all of this crap! Anyone got any ideas?

              • Implosion.

                Wait it out.

They can say “it’s here to stay” all they want. Reality will not be mocked. Mock all you want, reality will kick you in the nuts for it.

If you try to fly a brick with no wings, it will fly about as far as the initial push of energy will propel it, and that’s it. That is a fact, not speculation. Say “it will stay aloft” all you want, that don’t make it so.

In the end, all this will do is screw over the MediCaid folks that were hard core Democrat voters.

Way to lose your voting base in 3-4 years time. Nice job there.

                • The Guy, I agree. It’s going to fail and fail big time. government-controlled health care has failed everywhere it’s been tried. won’t be much different here.

                  • Obamacare, spending more taxpayer money…

Maryland Obamacare exchange spent $90 million on technology before abandoning website.

“Of the $90 million, exchange board Chairman Joshua Sharfstein said that the marketplace spent $55 million on the website itself, The Washington Post reports.

Officials opted in late March, after six months of struggling with the inoperable system, to give up on fixing the website and start over again with a model of Connecticut’s more successful exchange website.”

              • Me here,

I wonder what would happen to a country somewhere if they did the following:

                A. Decided to start speaking English as their official language.

                B. Adopted a Constitution and Bill of Rights based on ours.

                C. Capped taxes with a provision that only a unanimous vote by the people can raise them, but a simple majority can lower them.

                D. Outlawed property tax.

                E. Encouraged land ownership by the people.

                F. Pass a current events test and show ID to be able to vote.

Add some more. I think that this country would have an influx of able people chomping at the bit to move there.

Hey, a guy can dream, right?

                • Stig’s AC, a very interesting dream you’re having.

                • Sounds pretty good, we’ll have to try that here !

                • KY Mom, thanks for those “reminders” on Monkeycare.

                  • I just wish more people would see what a train wreck Obamacare is.

              • Stand your ground was my first thought. We have a Christian healthcare program that keeps us out of some of the healthcare crap. It’s affordable but not for everyone I guess.

Stay as healthy as you can. Eat good food. Work outdoors. Don’t go in any more debt and get out of debt as quickly as possible. Prep and Pray.

              • Me here, Please check out medi-share or PHCS, you can opt out of Obamacare and the cost is half of my old ins premiums. You should also have a chat with your doc about some kind of concierge services, I have a doc that lets me pay her 200. cash a year and will see me or call in a script whenever I need it w/o an appt. There are ways around obamacare if you look long and hard. I also found a cash discount lab on the internet for any testing you may need.

                • I would like to know where that Dr is. I wish Arizona. The
200.00 would be well worth it. Please let me know where he is.

            • Take that example one step further Stig. What if you have high cholesterol and youre prescribed the statins you cant handle. So you stop taking the meds and they do a blood test only to find out youre not in compliance. What does the govt do w/ people in non compliance? These days they use the BLM and guns.
This aint going to go over well for the people. Lock n load.

              • I hear ya. I think I’ll just head west and set up a tent on the Bundy Ranch so I can see govt action first hand. probably take a few pot shots myself.

              • it isn’t going to go well for the government

            • Uhhh, that’s what the DEATH panels are for.

            • Better plan on going back to the Middle Ages or pioneer days and take care of yourself and your family as best you can. Sucks if someone you really love is going to die, but resign yourself to it. Real medical care will be available only for the wealthy and the despicable politicians. Back in the 1960s and earlier, people got old, then they died. Today, people get old or get sick and the circus begins. Some form of life continues, but the patient dies eventually and the family is left bankrupt. We, as a culture, are terrified of death and see it as not natural. We better become more closely acquainted. As far as tests, I just refuse to take them. So far, my very nice doctor allows this, but has warned me that under Obama, I will have to take the cholesterol and other tests. We’ll see. I may just never go to the doctor again. So be it! I know that sounds delusional, but I have made up my mind that I won’t go, even if it means I die on the front porch. What’s going to be hard, is making that decision if it’s my husband, one of my kids or grand kids. Death used to come hard and often and we need to get used to that. If I’m going to die anyway, the POS president we have isn’t going to be consulted or allowed to interfere in any way.

              • I’m with you. Hopefully things will be bad enough that Health Ins. won’t matter. Just like the olden days, get treated by a country Dr. and pay him with chickens or something…and yes, we are all going to die. I have several books now on medicinal plants and “battle field” first aid. I would like to just take care of me and mine and leave the Gov. out of it!!!

                • Vicky and Me Here, I agree. If I lose my current coverage for any reason, THAT’S ALL SHE WROTE, it won’t get replaced with ANYTHING. I’ll take my chances, come what may. Life itself is a chance anyway.

              • Vicky,

“I may never go to the Doctor again.”

Good for you. That’s the key to long life. MDs and hospitals have a dirty secret. They kill more than they cure IMHO. It’s all downhill once they hook you up to big pharma. The ONLY situation where western medicine excels is in emergency situations – repairing the human body in the aftermath of car wrecks, battlefield injuries, etc and in treating acute infections.

I avoid doctors like the plague – have not been to one in forty years – learned to stop eating industrial food -moved out of the city to clean air, good water and a strenuous outdoor life. Highly recommended before SHTF.

A high protein paleo-diet works for me. I stay away from grains except for Painted Mountain Corn which is my principal survival carbohydrate that I grow myself. Check out RockyMountainCorndotcom for seed and more info on life in the mountains of Montana.

            • @ Stig’s American Cousin –

The ACA = universal health care; almost. The ONLY way that universal health care kind of, sort of, almost works is if it is a “single-payer” universal health care plan.

Didn’t you wonder why you didn’t hear about any of the major insurance companies complaining about the ACA? It was supposed to be a major ‘windfall-of-profits’ brought in by all of these newly ‘mandated’ customers being forced to buy insurance as a part great thundering heard of newly insured Americans. It, sadly enough, hasn’t worked out exactly as planed however.

Most physicians, those in private practice, are very reluctant to accept ‘new’ patients covered by the ACA. They have to absorb the cost of so many administrative requirements in order to get paid that more and more of them are avoiding ACA patients and insurance in general.

The physicians have also discovered that they can avoid the cost of malpractice insurance by requiring patients to sign a waver of liability prior to treating them.

More and more physicians are ‘dropping’ the administrative cost of dealing with insurance companies by charging their patients less up-front and then letting the patient deal with the insurance companies.

It’s a whole brand new world out there on a lot of fronts. I know of a whole lot of folks that are attempting to “unplug” from the attention and oversight of the government to the greatest degree possible.

            • The overall goal is to replace the existing native born population. Nudging them along especially the older whites by denying health care is a dream come true for these clowns. Health care was never the object here but ensuring chaos was and in that respect Obummer care is a success. If he ran again today he would win again. No limit on stupid with Americans.

              • Yes John W is stating the real fact. The powers that be. haven’t any use for the remmants of our once great making productive blue collar so called middle class. We don’t make good Serfs Peons & slaves. They don’t need us to produce for them and don’t need our votes. They have decided the brown skinned folks from south of the border can & will do their bidding for a pittance.

            • SAC, “but when you go to a doctor today, your blood pressure, weight, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. is supposed to fit into this “box” and if it doesn’t, then it is assumed that you are doing something wrong.”

I’m a prime example of that. When I first got my lab work done, it said I had hyperthyroidism. I turned down the radiation therapy and said no to the surgery to destroy part of my thyroid. I declined the 3 medications the doc wanted to give me.

I went home and bought some nascent IODINE and started taking it. A few months later, I was retested.

My doc was floored that my thyroid levels tested NORMAL. “It can’t be” he said. “This test must be wrong.”

I said “Maybe the other test was wrong. Maybe we can’t trust the tests at all, but we’re not going to discredit test results, just because they didn’t yield the result you were looking for.”

I then told her about the iodine supplement.

I WAS SIMPLY DEFICIENT IN IODINE, NOT HYPERTHYROID.

My blood pressure is another story, but more of the same nonsense. I’ve beaten them both, without the help of any doctors. The hardest thing, was getting off the medications…the meds will kill you, if the condition doesn’t.

They want you to believe every adverse test result, is a permanent disease, to be treated with medications for life—that isn’t necessarily true. I’m living proof of that.

              • Your very correct…glad you got better…

          • And it is not just the monthly cost of Obummercare that gouges us. The deductible on my son in laws policy is $6500 before he is covered even partially for anything! After paying $275 a month! Affordable? NOT!

          • And it is not just the monthly cost of Obummercare that gouges us. The deductible on my son in laws policy is $6500 before he is covered even partially for anything! After paying $275 a month! Affordable? NOT!

            • Sorry for the double post. My computer stutters when pissed.

              • thats ok ,i gave ya a thumb up on both

          • I was paying 1500/month (17,000/yr) on Cobra. No doubt the huge co was scamming me; but, again, lots of laws but no enforcement on the rich. Anyhoo, it was about the same as the high deductible plan I had given up which was about $600/month. So, I went back to high deductible of course. Now I have a good job with a good company with decent insurance. For now.

          • Question: “Who can afford to pay $3000 – $10000 a year for insurance?”

Answer: Only that mythical family of four who live within the District of Columbia and make the “average” $125,000 per year as calculated by IRS.

            That’s who.

Most of these people are government employees who make, on average, 60% more in their government job than a comparable job in the private sector; if they could find one. How many families in DC could afford O’Bummer Care if they only made $50k a year?

            None.

Engage your employees or be impoverished by them one rule, regulation, compulsory tax, or euphemism at a time. Can you say, Affordable Health Care Act?

Damn, the VA looks better as a viable alternative for me, all the time. 🙂

          • it’s simple, really. we were lied to, and it’s on film EVERYWHERE you want to look. lock ’em up. no need for trials. they have already tried and convicted themselves on national TV over and over again….lock them up and throw away the keys…..a lot of people don’t believe in the electric chair, but if I’M ELECTED KING, we are gonna have electric BLEACHERS! and these will be the first sons-o-biches to go. jail is MUCH to lenient for these people that have cost america(ns) BILLIONS….nay, TRILLIONS by the time it’s over with.

          • $3000 to $10000 is just for health insurance. Don’t forget about liability insurance for vehicles and home insurance. This is to be paid with money that is taxed, re-taxed, and then taxed again.

          • IRS,should go to every persons HOUSE,who voted for oboozo the killer clown,AND if they aren’t paid in full and seize everything they own,THEY WANTED TERRORISTS running america,so they should be the first ones to pay,AND TAKE THEIR KIDS TOO…besides everything they own………..

        • Future news headline:

“Socialized Medicine Needed to Fix Obamacare.”

It was set up to fail. But at least he “tried.”

          • 100% correct.

The sheeple will scream “Socialized Medicine Needed to Fix Obamacare.” Fucking idiots.

            • Yea, and there will be a new tax too, if you work and get a paycheck from an employer it will be there with the FICA MEDI SS etc

            • Obamacare IS socialized medicine!

          • Stigs , let me change some of your wording on your post to make this right for everyone

“Socialized Medicine Needed to Fix Obamacare.”

It was set up to fail, but at least he(Obama) was tried and convicted..
that sounds way way better doesnt it?

            • Too bad it’ll never come to that.

          • I don’t feel sorry for the doctors, hospitals and insurance companies, if any, that get hurt financially by Obamacare because they could have stopped it.

            • Exactly right Lucy. Shitbags one and all. The government is using the 7 deadly sins to remove the last vestiges of freedom and liberty and most will turn it over eagerly for there equivalent of an EBT card. Greed was used for the doctors, hospitals and insurance companies. They deserve everything they get.

            • How could they have stopped it? Pelosi allowed no comment from anyone on the bill. Blame Max Bachus and a couple of other idiot senators for this.

          • What’s to fix? Obiecare was a cluster from the onset, and they knew it, including Obama.
When the 30 or 40 million ( what ever the number is this week) uninsured are still uninsured and in all likelihood won’t be because they have their hand out waiting for it to be given to them, as usual. I wonder who Obamas going to blame for the failure this time?
Somebody needs to be hunted down and put in prison when this finally blows up.

            • Bush

        • Their new metric of success is that 8 million people signed up. Nothing to do with being affordable, just that when they hold a gun to your head they can get 8 million people to sign up!

          • Out of three hundred and thirty million.

            THREE HUNDRED ANDS THIRY.

8 is what? 2.4% of the population.

            Wow.

            Color me over-effing-whelmed.

            ONE MEEEEEEEEELION DOLLAHS!

            Uh, sir… a million’s… not that much anymore…

Sure sounds big though, don’t it 🙂

            It’s not.

          • Plus people HAD to sign up…no choice given. It’s like the IRS gloating about ALL of the people who paid their taxes this year and how successful their tax program is. Really!!!

        • Obamacare was never intended to succeed. It was a step toward a single payer, top down, government run system.

People being given freebies don’t bother to follow through with the sign up process because they know they aren’t going to pay for their own care anyway.

          • If they run single payer like the IRS runs 401s, there will be no health care for a conservative.

          • Twenty million more third world immigrants, amnesty and the Democrats will be in power forever. Too bad the Stupid Party does not realize that.

        • Pelosi et al have wanted to tax health ins benefits for a long time. If they can’t tax it, they don’t want you to have it.

        • The HNIC who has never run a business or held a real job hasn’t learned that “you cant do business with someone who has no MONEY”

          • 4 hours to approve my comment 🙁

            • Put in a bogus address below your handle,

ie – Da Yooper @ yahoo. Com

The computer will soon begin to recognize you.

              • Thanks Mich

          • You can if they get a subsidy. Remove the trillion plus in funny money spending and this economy is history.

        • In a sort of nihilistic, existentialistic sense… it is “free”. I mean… in the sense that you really didn’t have to so much VOTE for it or anything, in order to be force-fed it…

          Oh you mean MONETARILY free.

PFFT no. Come on, what is this, CandyLand?

… no matter how many laws you pass to try to MAKE it CandlyLand… there’s this irritating damned thing called ENTROPY. You may have heard of it.

          I KNOW! OUTLAW ENTROPY!

… that’s more or less what the Left’s position boils down to, if you take it out to its logical conclusion…

        • When the patriots resume control of the U.S., and we will, we should send all the statists to Gitmo.

          • We’re gonna need a lot more space at gitmo…

        • y99…….

Two bleeding heart liberals walked with their 7 year old daughter up to the front door of their neighbors house and knocked.

The older gentleman answered and asked “How can I help you neighbors?”

The little girl proceeded to tell of her idea–while her glowing parents gushed with smiles and nods behind her– about how she always sees the homeless man sitting behind the grocery store in dirty clothes and surrounded by bags of his possessions. The little girl had the idea to raise $50 so that the man could spend a night in a hotel, with a warm bed and get a hot shower–she asked the neighbor if he’d like to donate some money.

The neighbor looked at the little girl and said, “Well I am getting older and yard work is tough on me–if you’ll rake up the leaves in my yard and bag them, then take the smaller sticks and break them up and put them in the kindling bin next to my wood pile, I’d be happy to go down there and give that homeless man $50 for you.”

The little girl looked at the man for a few moments and then had a flash of clarity for the first time in her young life. “Why don’t we get the man down there to come up here and do the raking, bagging and gathering the sticks to earn the $50”

The older neighbor looked at her with a twinkle in his eye, “welcome to the Republican Party young lady”….

….not much of a republican myself–more of a conservative, libertarian constitutionalist but this one always sums up the liberal mentality so well..

          • Javelin:
            Very well put.
You can tell that the little girl got some schooling and is now smarter that her parents.
            I lean C.L.C. also.

        • Yep it’s a shit sandwich and we all have to take a bite and another bite and another bite. As a matter of fact it’s shit sandwiches on the menu for ever because you won’t be able to afford peanut butter and jelly.

The reality is we have 86 million citizens trying to pull the load for 244 million. The math is impossible. It’s like thinking we can ever pay off the deficit or after the boomers all die everything will be ok.

Does anyone want to buy a bridge??

          • I’m putting more peanut butter and jelly in my preps tomorrow…

        • “Got to pass it to find out what’s in it” -Sounds like a turd.

        • The shit sandwich IS free, but toothpaste will cost you $1,000,000 a tube…

          • All great responses to the shit sandwich epic, I thank you all, only wishing I knew some of you great people first hand, I really hate the interweb at times.

            God bless

            Y99 out

This is what they hate, that we just aren’t listening to all their rainbow talk.
            Green shoots…shovel ready..economy turning around….BS
            It’s all coming apart rapidly…
Ovomitcare is just chains we can believe in…believe it…

          • Maddog, I call them LIBTURDS. Seems more appropriate.

        • We should nuke Russia. That will show our uppity citizens.

Show them what I’m not entirely sure…

AH whatever! Nuke Russia I say!

(Do not actually nuke Russia. Thank you.)

      5. Can and will comment without reading the article. Discussing Ocommie care is a complete waste of time. It was designed to fail to usher in single payer healthcare. That is the goal and Americans can expect nothing else without a major RESET of the system because believe it or not both parties (demoncat and republican) want it. It has nothing to do with healthcare and everything to due with control. You WILL be controlled through single payer healthcare, no doubt in my or any thinking persons mind. Kiss any freedom you may think you have good-by.

        • That sort of “control” is a big, big, BIG mistake…

          I’m just tellin y’all 1%.

Fine, don’t believe me. You will, I assure you, when everyone gives up in the face of overwhelming odds and you have 330 million basket cases to take care of and wipe the asses of.

Sad thing about all this? We coulda been friends. But nooo… you had to be Quaid…

        • maddog,
You nailed it. Deathcare errrr I mean Obamacare is just another road to Buchenwald for lo-information voters.

Round up the sheeple or better yet just get them to register voluntarily. Then round them up, brand them/get their biometrics, and get them moving down the road to the Final Solution.

Best to take charge of our own health outside their death system. Live healthy. Grow our own. Throw in with those we trust. Observe OPSEC. Stay vigilant. Wake up more people in our AO. Learn how to feed the resistance.

More on these topics over at rockymountaincorndotcom.
Stay healthy and avoid lead poisoning if you can.

        • Actually, those dolts think Americans are dead. Americans don’t die, they do something else. Ocommiecare and the whole medical system is mostly broken. So, true Americans are turning to other systems. Whether its medical vacations or those non-insurance pay-into-the-pot programs or even the medical offices which take no insurance at all, innovations that work. not stupid rhetoric and posturing.

      6. 1961 RR Speech HC

Reagan says. “One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine,” he says. “It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project.”

        • Maybe we should disguise the coming “politician purge” as a humanitarian mission—it will be in everyone’s best interests to get rid of those tumors in DC…

      7. In some of the Clinton papers that were just released there was this little tidbit from Bill; he was afraid that Hillarycare would result in people not having insurance. Too bad obama didn’t read the Clinton papers.

        • Thats the problem with arrogant politicians,
They always know better than everyone else

        • Obamacare is just an updated version of Hillarycare.

      8. Obamacare was meant to fail , it was also intended to destroy the private health care system .
Its just a matter of time before a single payer (socialist) healthcare system replaces it .

It all boils down to loss of more freedoms and more government control over the people.
It is also a giant leap forward for the UN Agenda 21.

        Another plate of socialism please…..

      9. You keep calling it ‘Health Care.’ It’s EXTORTION on a massive, unprecedented scale. And who told this Administration that college kids have ANY discretionary income? INCOME?! They are in school, and any INCOME they may have is completely devoted to alcohol, NOT giving it away to pay for your health care!

Yesterday, there was a news article about how the politicians in Washington, DC don’t respond nor care about public opinion. Let me put that another way — they don’t give a fuck about you and me.

        • College students are allowed to be on their parents plan till 26 years of age.. I hate ahc plan too , however , there is no other way to be covered by health ins.If you need prescriptions and regular treatment, you have no choice…unless you have no income ,what do you realistically suggest … I am listening.

          • SD;
I suggest these 26 year old adults get a fucking real job and stop mooching off of mom and dad. I understand that there will be exceptions, but seriously most kids go to college for 4 years. 18-22 give or take. Get a job and get your own insurance.

Or better yet, don’t go to college, learn a trade, start your own business and make a killing. Pay for your own insurance.

I am all for helping the youth, but at some point they have to stand up for themselves. No one held my hand in my early 20s. If I didn’t work, I didn’t eat.

Sorry for the rant… just pissed off that a good portion of todays young kids are being coddled.

            GR

      10. Even in Georgia….

The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship.

Little Sally led off. “I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30” she said proudly, “My sales approach was to appeal to the customer’s civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success.”

        “Very good”, said the teacher.

Little Debbie was next. “I sold magazines” she said, “I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.” “Very good, Debbie”, said the teacher.

Eventually, it was Little Johnny’s turn. The teacher held her breath.

Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher’s desk. “$2,467”, he said.

“$2,467!” cried the teacher, “What in the world were you selling?”

Toothbrushes”, said Little Johnny. “Toothbrushes”, echoed the teacher, “How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?”

“I found the busiest corner in town”, said Little Johnny, “I set up a Dip &Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample.”

They all said the same thing, “Hey, this tastes like dog poop!” Then I would say, “It is dog poop. Wanna buy a toothbrush? I used the President Obama method of giving you some crap, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it’s free and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth.”

Little Johnny got five stars for his assignment. Bless his heart.

        • WINNING!

        • Eppe, you deserve more than 5 stars for this one. man, you are great. keep them coming.

      11. What many are forgetting about the ‘dismal failure’ that is Oblamadoesntcare, is the over reaching and tyrannical enforcement arm of the whole fracas- the I.R.S.

Has anyone really ‘looked’ at the listed ‘payment guidelines’? The amounts they ‘require’ you to pay are nothing less than highway robbery, and Chitcago mafia tactics.

They have a graduated scale that dictates a percentage of your income go towards your health insurance, otherwise you are ‘under covered’ and liable for penalty payments. Those ‘fees’ go up every year and frankly, I cannot see 3/4 or more of the U.S. even being able to pay that. Oblamadoesntcare is not health reform or care. It was designed as a money grab from the get-go.

        • I wont pay it.
I dont care if they send demand letters or what not, i dont even care if they send an agent or 20,
          They can go to hell.
Land of the free my ass. Pfft”
          I own nothing,
Will make sure i never own anything worth over 10k
          Want to lock me up?
Bring body bags cause im not going anywhere!

          • Kulafarmer, same here. I’m not going anywhere and I’m not buying anything I don’t want either.

          • 100% with ya Kula. I own nothing. Sucks, but they got me backed into a corner.

        • Yeah, I looked at it. I also looked at what I would have to pay if I had to go on their shitty plan too. Like 50% of my paycheck for their crappy “silver plan” that really does nothing for me.

If I get sucked into it, I plan on getting my money back with the “tax payer appreciation bat” policy. It’s goes this way- I have to pay for a product I don’t want; It’ll be an IRS agent broken arm and a broken leg, two broken legs or two broken arms, which ever works out. If I can’t procure an employee, I’ll take a refund via GSA vehicles. Nothing personal, it’s strictly business. Extorting money does comes with it’s own rules. Wanna play mob style? Game on!

      12. Love the pic Mac…sums it up nicely…

      13. you mean I don’t get my big screen and my home gas bill paid, wtf ?

      14. What’s the deductible on that policy? Probably a few grand. Pay the monthly and then pay your doctor bills also!!! This whole deal just sucks.
Try to have a nice day. Stu OUT.

      15. I’m fresh out of funds Mr. President,no can buy.

        • I’ll buy right after him ,Michelle, reid, and polousie.wife had cancer can’t afford the $375 “affordable” plan, even if I could drs won’t take ostupidcare.

      16. “Sir, no one can afford health insurance…”

        – “I KNOW! We’ll make it so that by LAW, they have to buy it! Because that will fix everything! Our laws are like laws of nature after all!”

        o_O…

        Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

“Sir, the gravitational constant of an object at sea level on Earth is 32.2 ft/sec^2”

        – “Once again, I have a great idea!”

        Son of a… *facepalm*…

      17. They’ve won the argument and its evidenced by the tens of thousands of Americans who have signed up on exchanges across the country.

        Oh.

So the 0.001% of the population proves your case, does it?

        I HAVE AN IDEA!

I’ll go to work every day and work 30 minutes! Then go home!

By your criterion, I should be a resounding success, right?

      18. Obungler care was NEVER about getting uninsured people coverage. It’s about crashing the health care industry so the government can finally socialize it.

In other words, it was never intended to work.

        • But yet when you go to a hospital or clinic, you see all of these happy people flittering around, doing their jobs like they’ll always have it…don’t they all realize they are next in the scheme to destroy the economy?

If they ever took their blinders off, they’d be looking for a pitch fork or a shovel…

      19. I remember back in the day when Hillary was rubbing her hands together about this thing (or some form of it) as well.

        You would think.

That after over a decade of salivating about it.

That these morons would have come up with something that would have AT LEAST lasted 5 years…

      20. Good Times, Bad Times, you know I had my share;
When my woman left home for a brown eyed man,
Well, I still don’t seem to care.

        • Gotta love Zep,,
          Ramble on…..

          • Really a Rover kind of guy me self!Tis all good though!

      21. Here in Canada we’ve had medicare for decades. Ten years ago they eliminated our premiums, they were only around $40 per month anyway and your employer would pay them for you on their plan. In over 46 years here I’ve never received a bill for a visit to the doctor, ER, or for an operation or childbirth. It’s free for us. Other countries got their “socialized medicine” off the ground with very few hitches and run them smoothly. Hundreds of dollars per month for Americans? Something is very wrong down there.

        • Corruption,
Thats the problem with freedom, greedy people fu€k it up for those of us who really want to be free.

        • how is your system paid for because nothing is free. what kind of income, property or sales taxes are yall payn.

        • Correct. If you go to the doctor here then they do 5 to 10 needless tests. Why? There is nobody who can force them to do what is right. The insurance companies have this little arrangement where anyone without insurance pays $1000 whereas if they have insurance then the hospital or clinic only charges the insurance company (and you) $300. So, insurance companies are happy for the crooked doctors since they have a scam which very heavily penalizes anyone without insurance.

          • its called defensive medicine….so no one can sue the shit out of them for missing something. 95% of all head injuries do NOT need ct scans based on thorough medical evaluation. an ed doc is going to scan 100% because of the 1/10000 he may miss something and be sued for millions. that same 95% probably don’t have insurance.

        • AnneMarie–the United States has 22 individual states with larger economies than Canada and 24 states with larger populations than your 30 million…

Heck, we have 50 million on food stamps and another estimated 40 million illegal immigrants filtering on our medical systems…

Throw in over 100 MILLION working age Americans ( between 16 and 65) who are currently not working….and you actually believe you can compare Canada to the USA?

It may work for 30 million people with a high percentage actually being productive members of society—but in the USA our massive hordes of unproductive leeches make this a guaranteed losing idea.

          • I’m comparing more than Canada to the USA, there are many other countries that managed to get medicare going, and I’m sure there were some obstacles involved.

Since the American economy is in the tank, this move to medicare should most likely never have been undertaken.

You have ten times our population, so you should have ten times the number of (hopefully efficient) employees to get this thing off the ground. Everybody working together in Utopia to get’r done. I thought Americans love to brag about how great they are and are so much better than everyone else. (Sorry, I grew up down there and I’ve heard it all.) American ingenuity and all that stuff has hit a wall, unless of course this whole fiasco is going according to plan.

            • ann
it all came to a end with the welfare state. when you have millions of people sitting on their asses and expecting the gov to take care of them no social program is going to work. also americans were able to brag because we were self reliant and didnt want or need big gov or ins co’s running our lives.

      22. Im 27 years old and my wife is 28 years old. I have a full time job that does not give health insurance. My wife was hurt in an accident last march and still has not been able to work. Right now for my good health insurance i pay around 800 a month. 2 years ago when i got it i was only paying 500 i just got a letter in the mail saying my bill is going up another 60 dollars a month starting in June. How is this so bad. I just went on healthcare.gov and seen that i will pay the exact same amount of money on obamacare and get less for my money. The scary part is that the 266 a month they come up with is for the worst coverage. And if anything happens to you, you are royally screwed paying deductibles and copay’s out the ass. This is absolutely BS. I really hope they find a way to repeal this law and fix the system. I know the system was flawed in the beginning buy it is completely screwed up now. I hope the obama supporters are happy they elected the worst president in US history by a long shot. And he has destroyed this country. I hope this can be eventually fixed because other wise there are going to be even more poor people who will not be able to support them selves pushing everyone more into debt draining the whole country. good luck all because we got a couple more years of the same old shit. and beyond that its probably going to be the same old because they will just promise to give more free stuff to there unemployment army that is fully dependent on the government and there programs.

      23. I went to Home Depot this past weekend to get some materials to make some reapirs along my fence. As I walked up to the check out 5 HD employees were congragating there talking about a meeting they had earlier that morning where apparently the “higher-ups” told them their hours were getting cut, and they were now considered “part time employees” because of Obummercare. They all said that they wouldn’t be able to make it with the cuts in pay they were facing and would have to take on second/third jobs. A couple of them said they had tried to sign up for Obummercare but were shocked when they realized they wouldn’t be able to afford it, and it wouldn’t cover what they needed.

Before making any comments myself, I asked if any of them voted for Obama, all five said they did. (Face palm) At that point I officially stopped feeling sorry for them and told them that it was time to pay the pipper, that they got what they asked for, and to stop wasting time complaining and to ring me up.

I was reminded of John Wayne’s old quote; Life’s tough, it’s even tougher when your stupid.

      24. Almost makes you WANT to sign up for the Free Sh*t Army doesn’t it?

I’m positive there are millions of people with far less foresight and who are unaware of the “we now own your house” clause that are doing. That very thing. As we speak.

      25. You think it is bad now wait until the 27 to 35 group tells Obullshit they aren’t going to send any money.
Wait till the Zombies and Leaches learn they too are going to have to pay something. They will RIOT! Target rich areas for sure.
        A.S.M.S.
        Sgt.

      26. BO care stunk the second it was conceived. The U.S. health care system is just about the worst in the world right now in which these parasitic vampires take money and make a person sicker than when they started. 50% of all medical dope in the world is taken by 5% of the population of the world that is the U.S. Now BO care emboldens an already God Awful medical system to make it that much worse.

Whether it is a planned failure or just shear stupidity doesn’t matter. The end results are just more suffering for Americans. More despair, less money to those that have signed up for it. BO is driving this country right into a financial ruin of a train wreck and trying to run the country right into a massive war. Decay is so evident in some many fascades.

        • BI, you tell it like it is. Keep on!
          Snowed out

        • Obamacare is a MASSIVE bill – both in the effect it will have on Americans and in the sheer size of the print edition. I’ve never tried to read it but I’ve heard it’s almost three thousand pages long!

The physical size of it indicates (to me) that it’s been laying around for years, waiting for the appropriate time to pull it out of the hat. In an earlier administration it was probably called “Hillarycare” and only God knows what it was before that. But legislative bills such as that don’t just spring up in a matter of a few weeks or months, they require years of work to get even the references right – if they ever do get them right. This law probably started sometime in the 1930s under the Roosevelt adminisstration and it’s been kept – with an occasional update – in a filing cabinet somewhere under the White House.

So maybe it IS the “Bill from Hell”!

          • Red Skelton said on one of his radio shows in the 50s about the stupidly of socialized medicine. He was ahead of his time.

        • It’s not that we have the worst health care. We have the best health practitioners in the world. If I would ever need some major repaired, I wouldn’t be going to another country to get it fixed.

The problem is the government. Rules and regulations have driven up the cost of not just health care, but everything. Without tort reform and getting big brother out of the way, we will never have anything affordable again!!

Ponder this thought.. Before Obama, there were 34,000 pages of federal regulations. Now there are 175,500 pages and rising every day!! That’s only federal..

Didn’t our founding fathers say something about limited government and staying out of states’ and individuals lives???
          molon labe

          • “Rules and regulations have driven up the cost of not just health care, but everything. ”

            Right on ,
Look at any business and i will bet that it is suffering from some sort of government intervention thru the EPA , FDA or IRS and probably every other ABC dept.

These entities are unconstitutional , they are allowed to regulate without legislation. If this continues , these regulations will effectivly nullify the constitution.
People gotta wake up to this , the government is standing on our necks and its gettin hard to breath .

If these asshats in DC really wanted job growth , they would just get the hell outta the way.
But they dont they want dependency and control.

        • BI, all the Obama crowd did was take “Hillarycare” from the shelf, dust it off, and put their own updates on it. It’s never going to fly regardless of circumstances.

      27. Off topic: More silver uses….
        PKLL

        Burns
Burns occur from the sun, radiation, x-rays, fire, heat, and from other chemicals in our environment. Silver sol is at its very best when it’s used to treat a burn. It reduces pain and inflammation and improves wound healing. Silver sol liquid can be sprayed on the burn or used to soak the burn, and the gel can be applied to the wound where a significant reduction in pain, inflammation and tissue damage will be visible in the first hour.
Often burn wounds are so painful that you will want to spray on silver sol liquid or gel. The gel will stay on the wound for a long period of time. The liquid will get into the wound very quickly, but needs to be reapplied every few hours. Drink one ounce of silver sol liquid twice a day until the burn is gone.
        Cancer
While silver has proven promising against many health conditions, those who have cancer or who may suspect they have cancer should always consult a physician before pursuing any course of treatment.
Cancer is always caused by a multiplicity of factors. Toxins, poisons, and pesticides have all been proven to cause cancers. Bacteria are one of the greatest causes of cancer because it neutralizes your immune systems, allowing damage inside the cell on the DNA level. It is estimated that up to 60 percent of all cancers have a root in bacterial causes.
Silver sol is a broad-spectrum preventative agent. It destroys bacteria in as little as 15 seconds and kills the viruses and mold that may also cause cancer.
Those suffering from cancer should drink four ounces of silver sol on day one and four ounces on day two, sipping it every hour. Drink two ounces a day for the next five days; take two tablespoons twice a day thereafter as a maintenance dose.
Sinus, mouth, throat, or lung cancer patients may want to use an inhaled form of liquid silver sol. One ounce can be inhaled from a nebulizer 30 minutes a day. This allows the silver sol to come in deep contact with the lungs, bronchioles, and sinuses. This approach should be combined with oral silver sol use.
There is also a very experimental method for IV usage. About 3,000 cases have used silver sol intravenously, with no reported toxicity problems. An IV can be made utilizing 250 CCs of silver sol liquid at 10 parts per million. Mix one to one with a D5W mixture hung in a bag and dripped for one hour, given every other day for 10 total doses.
It should be noted that saline solution cannot be used because the salts in the saline inactivate the silver sol. This is a very important formulation and can be adjusted in any parts per million of the silver sol. Using the mathematical proportion of 250 CCs, you can use any part per million that you need to begin with.
When you put silver sol liquid directly in the veins it will begin killing even the most serious bacteria in 15 seconds. Noticeable improvements will occur within the first two days. It has shown to be promising against viral infections like hepatitis, against cancer, and even against Epstein-Barr and the AIDS virus. Pa pa milk thistle can be used as a liver and intestinal cleanse. Drinking antioxidants daily will help cleanse the blood as well.
        Silver and Cellular Abnormalities
According to the Journal of Chem. Medicinal Chem. (Nov. 2007), beams of ultraviolet light can be used to destroy tumors and cancers. Special molecules are injected into the bloodstream and then activated by a beam of ultraviolet light. It only takes a few minutes of light beam therapy to actively attack the cancer cells. The top research scientist (Colin Self) stated: “I would describe this development as the equivalent of ultra-specific magic bullets.” This break-through in cancer treatment is significant to silver sol because, according to Penn State University Professor Roy, silver sol has been published to resonate at a frequency of 910 terahertz which falls in the same category of ultraviolet light frequency as the antitumor lights (Curr. Science Invest, 2007).
It has been shown that infectious agents are associated with causing solid tumors (Kaposi’s sarcoma), blood-based cancers (Leukemia) and other forms of cancers such as cervical cancer, which is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus. (Townsend Letters for Doctors, May 2006). As you can see, bacteria, viruses, mold and other infectious agents have been reported to cause cancers. Taken daily, silver sol can prevent cellular bacteria, viruses, and mold so that the single-cell abnormalities never go beyond a single cell.
This is important because once diagnosed, doctors often prescribe chemotherapy or radiation that can cause immune suppression. This suppression of normal immune function allows for multiple pathogens to seed or spread. In this situation silver sol may have the potential to play a dual role: either destroy the infectious agent that causes the cancer and/or destroy the pathogenic load arising from the immunocompromised patients (Townsend Letters for Doctors, May 2006).
Doctor Rentz (Am Acad Environmental Medicine, 2003) reports that the following cancer-associated infections are susceptible to silver sol treatment: HIV (Bull Cancer, 2006), Kaposi’s sarcoma (Eur. Neurology, 2002), Epstein Barr Virus (J. Biol Regul Homeost Agents, 2005), Respiratory syncytial virus (Pediatrics, 2005), Influenza, Parainfluenza, Fungemia (J Support Oncology, 2005), Rotavirus (Bone Marrow Transplant, 2005), Cytomegalovirus (Cancer, 25), and streptococcus pneumoniae (Medicine, 2005).
        Dr. Gordon Pederson
According to a NASA Technical report done at the University of Wisconsin, silver sol can be skillfully administered and due to its picoscaler diffusion capabilities will impregnate all collective atoms within each tumor cell or pathogenic cell with silver ions (Final technical report, University of Wisconsin, and NASA CR-114978, code 3, cat 04). This saturation potential supercharges silver’s ability to displace the potassium-dependent glucose transport mechanism which is the exclusive means by which cancerous cells feed themselves, thereby selectively starving cancer cells without harming normal cells (Townsend Letter for Doctors, May 2006).
        Published cancer results include:
“We studied malignant fibrosarcoma cells (cancerous fibroblasts) and found that electrically injected silver suspended their runaway mitosis.” (Becker, 1995).“Women with breast cancer (confirmed by biopsies), each received a single dose of silver sol at a concentration of 10 ppm. The 30 subjects were re-tested by biopsy at day 19 post injection, resulting in 100% normal tissue” (Antelman, MS. 2000).

        • thanks, PK….how about a link …or a recipe for MAKING that colloidal silver?…could you put it up on the latest story on SHTFPLAN?..TIA

      28. I’ve said for two years now Obamacare won’t work. The money doesn’t exist in private hands to pay for it, OR they would already HAVE health insurance.

What comes next is govt health care, paid for by more printed money.

That was the plan all along.

      29. In 20 years no one will remember this argument. What 27 year old can afford this you ask? Every Canadian, that’s who.

      30. ***** MERS CoV UPDATE *****

Sharp Rise In MERS Cases May Mean The Virus Is Evolving

        http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2014/04/21/305680650/sharp-rise-in-mers-cases-may-mean-the-virus-is-evolving

“The spike in cases, especially among health care workers, could be a signal that the virus has reached a tipping point and could be ready to spread out of the region, says Dr. Michael Osterholm, who directs the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.

“It took us over a year to get the first hundred cases of this viral infection,” Osterholm tells Shots. “Now in just the last two weeks, we’ve had a hundred cases. … There’s a major change occurring that cannot just be attributed to better case detection. Something’s happening.”

“”It’s time for the world to wake up and demand that the Middle East do the kind of job that we need done to stop this transmission [of MERS],” he says, “and to protect the rest of the world.”

      31. Anyone who has dealt with the common man could have predicted this. I rented a house to a disability family. (unmarried of course, but at two of the kids in common). They don’t pay you. Goofyment sends them the check and then they are supposed to pay you the rent. After a few months they stop paying. See how long they can squat. Its a custom amongst that class of people. I felt sorry for them because the mom and dad were deaf. Well, he had a FT job. And they had a 15 and 17 yr old who NEITHER of them had a job. normal kids (well, not really normal since they were being trained to be takers and not makers). It gross to see super-rich making up these hare-brained schemes and then trying to convince everyone they will work.

        • “Its a custom amongst that class of people” — Exactly what “class” of people do you think the disabled are in?

A 15 yr old without a job? Maybe you’ve forgotten about SCHOOL. You have to be 16 to get a work permit in some states.

“well, not really normal since they were being trained to be takers and not makers” — how the hell would you know what they are being “trained in”?

You sound to me like some miserly old bigot who has been soured on life in general.

          I feel sorry for YOU.

        http://www.theguardian.com/science/2014/apr/22/asteroids-nuclear-scale-blasts-earths-atmosphere

“The former astronaut Ed Lu, speaking about the data at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, said: “While most large asteroids with the potential to destroy an entire country or continent have been detected, less than 10,000 of the more than a million dangerous asteroids with the potential to destroy an entire major metropolitan area have been found by all existing space or terrestrially operated observatories.”

“The most dramatic asteroid impact in recent times occurred when an object exploded over Tunguska, Siberia, in 1908 with an energy yield equivalent to between 5,000 and 15,000 tons of TNT. An area of remote forest covering 770 square miles was flattened by the blast.”

      34. Repeal Obamacare
        Repeal Obama and his mob
        Repeal Congress
        Repeal our govt
This country needs REAL HONEST PEOPLE to run the country, not corrupt liars out for themselves.

I hope Georgia is the match that starts the fire. I wonder what the rest of the states are going to look like.
With any luck this they will be worse than Georgias payments.
I hope the midterm elections bring out the Real American Voter and we start the Real change. The type that makes the U.S.A. great again if it is not already to late.
        N.R. N.S. N.REB

      36. This is theft from the American People pure and simple. This is not a tax, it’s extortion and the supreme court justices who said it was a tax, ought to have their asses beat, tarred and feathered.

        • ……and in addition those justices along with their families, should be exiled to a Muslim country.

        • Especially when they jammed it down our throats and exempted themselves! Speaks volumes about their “Grand” ideal.

        • you KNOW it’s been said that the swing vote(forget which one it was) on the supreme court was threatened with something very bad to happen to him if he didn’t figger out a way to pass it. i mean it was obvious to ME that they had SOMETHING on him to MAKE him vote FOR obamadon’tcare. they(the powers that SHOULDN’T be) got dirt on ALL rich people/politicians, so that when they make waves, they go DOWN. sorry, america, there’s no fixin’ stupid. just keep your heads burried in the sand and pretend there’s no corruption here.

      37. It’s a drip, drip, drip to socialism.

Every time they push it back, that’s more time to get obamacare tentacles further into the system to where it will never be gotten out. if they push it back to 2016, it’ll have wound thru the medical system so bad that canada’s health system make look good by comparison.

      38. I distinctly recall the repeated claims that something like 30 million Americans were without insurance and that Obamacare would solve that problem and provide these deserving people with the health care they’d either never had or couldn’t obtain due to pre-existing conditions. It was their “right,” we were told over and over and over and over.

Now we read that only 8 million actually signed up for Obamacare.

Now we read that only a fraction of those 8 million have actually consummated their signup by paying the first premium.

Now we read that Obamacare will “never” be repealed because the minimum of 8 million people signed up.

What on earth is this scam???

We know it’s nothing more than a scheme to impoverish tens of millions of Americans with outrageous premiums and even more outrageous deductibles. We know it’s nothing more than an excuse to reduce the money available to us from our paychecks, so that we can’t, heaven forbid, do or buy things that ensure our freedom and liberties. We know it’s nothing more than the beginning of the government taking over the decision for who will live and who will die, and when.

        WE know all this.

So why doesn’t the House of Representatives and the Senate know this, and do what is needed to stop it??

There is no excuse for this pile of horse hockey to be happening.

        WHAT was Justice Roberts thinking??!!

        Gardening related
I was wondering if anyone knew what timeschedule to use when doing a traditional mixed planting of corn, then beans, then squash? I want to try an experimental planting like that just for the hell of it, good soil builder too,

        • Wikipedia can be good for something. 😉

Very good thing to plant the “Three Sisters”. There are also other companion crops that grow together amazingly well. Best of luck on your crops!

The Three Sisters are the three main agricultural crops of various Native American groups in North America: squash, maize (corn), and climbing beans (typically tepary beans or common beans).

In one technique known as companion planting, the three crops are planted close together. Flat-topped mounds of soil are built for each cluster of crops.[1] Each mound is about 30 cm (12 in) high and 50 cm (20 in) wide, and several maize seeds are planted close together in the center of each mound. In parts of the Atlantic Northeast, rotten fish or eels are buried in the mound with the maize seeds, to act as additional fertilizer where the soil is poor.[2] When the maize is 15 cm (6 inches) tall, beans and squash are planted around the maize, alternating between the two kinds of seeds. The process to develop this agricultural knowledge took place over 5,000–6,500 years. Squash was domesticated first, with maize second and then beans being domesticated.[3][4] Squash was first domesticated 8,000–10,000 years ago.[5][6]

The three crops benefit from each other. The maize provides a structure for the beans to climb, eliminating the need for poles. The beans provide the nitrogen to the soil that the other plants utilize, and the squash spreads along the ground, blocking the sunlight, helping prevent establishment of weeds. The squash leaves also act as a “living mulch”, creating a microclimate to retain moisture in the soil, and the prickly hairs of the vine deter pests. Maize lacks the amino acids lysine and tryptophan, which the human body needs to make proteins and niacin, but beans contain both and therefore maize and beans together provide a balanced diet.[3][4]

Native Americans throughout North America are known for growing variations of Three Sisters gardens. The milpas of Mesoamerica are farms or gardens that employ companion planting on a larger scale.[7] The Anasazi are known for adopting this garden design in a drier environment. The Tewa and other Southwestern United States tribes often included a “fourth sister” known as “Rocky Mountain bee plant” (Cleome serrulata), which attracts bees to help pollinate the beans and squash.[8]

The Three Sisters planting method is featured on the reverse of the 2009 US Sacagawea Native American dollar coin.

          • Thank you much,,

        • The three sisters work awesome, but my pole beans almost choked off the sweetcorn!!

Couldnt find the corn after a couple months and then the corn fell over,
And the corn wasnt short either, it was a synergistic variety that grew about 7′ tall,
The squash i planted the first time i tried interplanting snuffed out the corn, but i planted them at the same time.

        • Thank you, i like the site,, going to do some reading there later on,

        • So this indian has actually been fucked twice by the government.

          • At least twice.

        • TO EVERYONE; I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE RFID VIDEO BI POSTED THE LINK FOR. VERY CHILLING AND FRIGHTENING. MAKES ME MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER TO RESIST IT. IF IT COSTS ME MY LIFE TO AVOID THE CHIP, THEN SO BE IT. BE INFORMED, THANK YOU FOR POSTING THAT LINK. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS VIDEO. HARD TO GET THROUGH BUT NECESSARY.

      40. It was never about the health care for the people.

IT WAS ABOUT INFLICTING PAIN ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND TO INSTALL A COMMUNIST TYPE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM—THE SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM.

please forgive me for the all caps.

Everybody the same. Equality: Wealth and resource distribution. That is the goal of the new order.

Well, they leave out the one thing they can’t fix: The heart of man and only God can do that.

        Just my opinion.

      41. Been scarce again for a couple weeks…thought Id check in…Kula I do that type of planting when it gets warm enough for all three to survive on a limited scale…here thats late May into June…corn grows fast enough to stay ahead of the squash if its warm enough…theyre talking snow tonight and tommorrow with highs later in the week getting back into the 50s…so none of those plantings here yet…been cutting/burning brush and repairing barbed wire fences…chizel plowed the corn field and mould board plowed the potatoe field…got some lime on one the hayfields and the one garden area(1/2acre) chizel plowed…been cleaning up the ashes and char from the brush piles and putting it on the garden areas…getting my incubators fired up full of goose and turkey eggs and finally got my bee hives populated, good to see them buzzing again…hoophouse plastic goes on next week Lord willing and the main hoophouse is full of greens needing harvested and eaten :)nice reward for all the hard work…tools to sharpen/build and repair…never enough time, running on 5 hrs sleep,if that, but its a good life and the winter has been way too long…love being busy!…y’all take care of yourselves and ignore this commies health care plan…youll do better without him/it!

        • REB, good to hear from you and don’t stay gone so long this time if you can avoid it.

          • Thanks Braveheart…

        • Cool beans Reb,
I have a hoop house i use for starting seedlings, about 45’x20′ comes in real handy,
We are already in the mid to high 80s during the days and coldest at night has been 53 over the last couple weeks, finally stopped raining, is good and bad,
Trying to figure out what to plant in my fields, have about 4 acres i need to cover up, alfalfa is expensive, but real good when its dry, but figure ill put the three sister mix in an every two week rotation 1/4 acre or so at a time over the next few months so i can sell the stuff if i feel like dealing with it at best, or just have one hell of a heavy cover crop residue to plant my alfalfa into in november.

          • Kula…I dont have a little face I can use here to show envy 🙂 like this smiley face but you get it Im sure 😉 …envy where your weather comes in at least…get so tired of the cold…I like to plant and till and grow stuff and its still winter…talking flurries and low 20s here again tonight and after some 60s and even a 70s degree day this really sucks 🙁 …never been out there most likely never will get out there but its good to know theres someone out there on a mountaintop in the middle of the pacific ocean who understands liberty and likes to grow things…good luck to you my friend!

      42. Has anybody actually looked at the program? I checked out the website. Currently i pay $335 a month for me and my family for a total of 5 people THROUGH my employer. I went to Obamacare to see if i could get it more affordable…..

It was over $1000 a month for crappier insurance. $5000 deductible!!!!! My wife’s gall bladder surgery only cost $2800.

        Screw them.

Since there are no pre-existing prohibitions people will arrive at the hospital and buy it there when the admissions clerk is checking them in.

Of course, the real goal was to bankrupt the insurance companies so the government could then institute a single payer system.

        • Yep, our insurance here is ridiculous, rates are based on age.
2 years ago my quote from blue cross blue shield through the farm bureau was going to be about 564/ month the medication rider was another 325/ month or a total of 871, with the taxes added was just under 950/ month but covered everything and had a 15$ copay
Now last month, the same policy sorta, same carrier different coverage, 5000 deductible, 20% copay, no medications, and was almost 900/ month with the taxes,, i was like WTF???
The nice lady explained it was because i am 50, asthmatic with high blood pressure,,,
          BS
im getting a years worth of meds from an online pharmacy from india for less than 2 of my inhalers at a local wallmart pharmacy. Screw the insurance, screw the government, dont want their subsidies, you still gotta pay the full cost then you get reimbursed at tax time ,,!,,

          • That is, as long as the govt decides to give it back to you at tax time…

      43. Not to even mention the extremely high deductible that must be PAID first before any thought of the “insurance” kicking in. Just because you’re a card carrying member of the “Obamacare” plan doesn’t ensure that a doctor, clinic or hospital will even recognize the insurance. What a freaking system.

        • Priceless.

      44. Incidentally, I am a dual US/Canadian citizen, who has lived half my life under each system. I can only say leftists are going to experience some very, very poetic justice when they find out, too late, what a piece of horse manure socialized medicine actually is.

Have fun leftists! You will deserve EVERY hour spent waiting in lines, every extra month delay for an MRI, every extra thousand dollars a month, etc. while your vile leftist betters exempted themselves from their own legislation. I can’t think of anyone more deserving than you ignorant, disgusting, free lunch leftist low information voters to receive your own medicine. Or lack thereof

      45. So here’s a few questions…when all of the people who did not sign up, approximately 70% of those eligible by the sounds of it, they will fill out their taxes and if they don’t have health care, they will have to check a box. If they check the “I don’t have healthcare” box, they owe $2,500 that is taken from them in taxes.

So, what happens when they can’t pay the $2,500 in taxes? They are not paying taxes and from there, can be charged criminally. Can you imagine when that amount of American’s can’t pay, so the system collapses without other people’s money coming to the rescue? Then, the 70% of eligible people can’t pay the $2,500 so they are now going to be prosecuted for not paying taxes…

What people in this country do not realize is that the government cannot give to one without taking from another…period.

The government does not produce anything. Everything it has comes from the working. Every outstretched hand that get’s stuffed with …pick any subsidy…get’s it stuffed with money created from the working or stacked in debt for future workers to pay.

There is no getting this country out of debt. There is no getting this country out of the entitlement attitude. There is no getting this country out of people having babies upon babies to get more of the workers money.

Just go to the local mall and watch the zombie gothopotamus’s walking along staring into their Icrap bumping in to planters and chairs looking like they just fell in a tackle box and report back here if you truly believe that we stand a chance at fixing this Titanic.

Sorry to get on the bah humbug wagon, but lately it’s becoming more and more depressing as I see our Country losing the glimmer of hope that I used to see in people’s eyes. The American dream is no longer an option for many. All there is is existing for some.

Living to pay bills. Living to make payments on things. Living to pay interest on credit cards that can’t be paid off because they needed an Xbox. Living to have a day off on the weekend where they sit, eat Cheetoes dipped in nacho cheese and jump up and down in excitement when an overpaid fast person runs over a stripe because a year from now, that will make a difference, right?

Kids are zombies now compared to when I was young. We used to climb trees, hunt gophers, ride dirt bikes, make tree forts…the list goes on and on. Today kids post picture after picture of their face on Instagram, or twitter or facebook. Social networking for me was called outside and that’s where my friends were.

We were taught to open doors for others even if we had to wait for them to walk a few more steps…taught to fix things instead of throw them away…taught to work hard and be thankful for a job because it paid enough that a mother could stay home to raise our kids…taught that we didn’t NEED an Icrap unless we could pay for it…taught that if you wanted something to save for it…taught that paying interest was a horrible idea.

Needless to say, this is not the country I grew up in. I do not see that it has gotten better. I see a country that is more self absorbed than ever and has drifted further and further from the Lord.

        OK, I’m done…God Bless,
        NP

      46. First time responding, but been following for almost two years.
My family of three would cost $465 a month, with a $12,000 deductible. That’s $17,580 before we get coverage, on $48,000 a year combined, before taxes. That’s affordable right there.

        • Was that sarcasm?

      47. Nobody said the Health Care Act was going to be free.Everyone has to contribute to make it work. However, the bill should never have had any insurance company near it. It should have been operated by the U.S. Government like Social Security. They should have had a payroll deduction to ensure that the money would go to the program, and only subsidies would go to the poor, disabled, and elderly. The Europeans pay a high tax for their health care program and no one is turned away, or put on a wait list if the medical procedure is urgent. The doctors make all the medical decisions.

        • With respect anything of value shouldnt have the govt anywhere near it they muck up everything and then some…since when has any govt program ever worked?,besides we the people didnt give them any leave to halter this bit into our mouths…insurance companies suck but at least we/I could choose to “NOT” do business with them…as for payroll taxes to insure the money went to the program…friend you cant be serious…look at ANY govt program with a payroll tax and youll see one full of graft and corruption from which the money stolen from your paycheck is siphoned off regularly and replaced with IOUs that are actually worth “less” than the fiat they steal from it…cant say what the euro-peons actually do but not much they do works so why would we want to emulate them…besides this aint europe and God willing we wont ever fall to that level…of course if the kenyan has his way we may be looking up to europe before this is all over…God help us!

      48. No average American can afford health care, a lack of jobs or low paying jobs leave no money to treat sickness. People can’t even meet their living expenses like food and shelter. This is the obvious destruction of our nation and standard of living to meld the u.s. into a new world order. Real unemployment estimates are in the 25 to 35 percent range. If people can’t earn an income, what do you expect them to do, just die? We are all brothers and sisters as human beings. Health care is a human right and should not be a profit making enterprise. If the people do not care about each other, then all hope is lost to rebuild our nation. Get rid of the two fake opposing political dogma’s designed to divide and conquer, opt out, don’t vote and don’t give your approval to your diminishing humanity. Right thinking or left thinking, it is all a charade. Being human and caring about people is all that really matters. United we all win, divided we all fail. It is that simple.

      49. I live in GA and in my County of 150K, at a BOC meeting they discussed that ObamaCare was costing the County an extra 500K this year in new fees and premium increases. YIKES!!

        • CL;
Haven’t seen you post here in a long time. Hope all is well and that we read more from you.

          GR

      50. Hey, this is right out of Saul Alinsky’s handbook on how to take over a country and be in total control. Take over healthcare and you will begin to control the people. Make them dependent upon the gov’t. Put the country in a debt situation that cannot be sustained to make the people more dependent on the gov’t. Obama is a master at this since he has studied under Frank Davis, a well-known communist. Hillary Clinton is a devout follower of Alinsky as well. This isn’t about healthcare, it’s about taking over the country and establishing total control of the people of America. The gov’t is stockpiling small arms and ammunition…why? Why does the Dept. of Education need weapons and ammo? A lot of false flags are being raised recently to add to the smoke and mirrors to cover up what is really happening. America is going down the tubes.

      51. Half of the enrollees didnt pay their premium and the other half were on fully subsidized medicare
of the 8 million supposed enrolees I would bet over half are fully subsidized,, wonder why that statistic hasnt been released???
