Mystery Company Is Rapidly Acquiring U.S. Gun and Ammo Manufacturers

Reports that a mysterious company has been buying up U.S. gun manufacturers have been popping up on the internet for several months. When we first learned of the possibility that a single company was rapidly acquiring companies like Bushmaster, Remington, and Marlin Firearms we immediately suspected that something was amiss. Apparently, we were not alone, because others were thinking the same thing.

One rumor that popped up was that global financier George Soros, historically an anti-gun advocate, was behind the moves, and that he was positioning the gun industry to reduce pro-gun lobbying efforts. This prompted the National Rifle Association to step in to assure American gun owners that this wasn’t a behind the scenes coup. “The owners and investors involved are strong supporters of the Second Amendment and are avid hunters and shooters,” the NRA said in a statement.

While Soros may not be involved, the New York Times identified the company making the acquisitions as an obscure organization known as The Freedom Group, which is managed by multi-billion dollar investment firm Cerberus Capital Management:

In recent years, many top-selling brands – including the 195-year-old Remington Arms, as well as Bushmaster Firearms and DPMS, leading makers of military-style semiautomatics – have quietly passed into the hands of a single private company. It is called the Freedom Group – and it is the most powerful and mysterious force in the U.S. commercial gun industry today.

    Never heard of it?

You’re not alone. Even within gun circles, the Freedom Group is something of an enigma. Its rise has been so swift that it has become the subject of wild speculation and grassy-knoll conspiracy theories. In the realm of consumer rifles and shotguns – long guns, in the trade – it is unrivaled in its size and reach. By its own count, the Freedom Group sold 1.2 million long guns and 2.6 billion rounds of ammunition in the 12 months ended March 2010, the most recent year for which figures are publicly available.

Behind this giant is Cerberus Capital Management, the private investment company that first came to widespread attention when it acquired Chrysler in 2007. (Chrysler later had to be rescued by taxpayers). With far less fanfare, Cerberus, through the Freedom Group, has been buying big names in guns and ammo.

From its headquarters in Manhattan, Cerberus has assembled a remarkable arsenal. It began with Bushmaster…

After Bushmaster, the Freedom Group moved in on Remington, which traces its history to the days of flintlocks and today is supplying M24 sniper rifles to the government of Afghanistan and making handguns for the first time in decades. The group has also acquired Marlin Firearms, which turned out a special model for Annie Oakley, as well as Dakota Arms, a maker of high-end big-game rifles. It has bought DPMS Firearms, another maker of semiautomatic, military-style rifles, as well as manufacturers of ammunition and tactical clothing.

“We believe our scale and product breadth are unmatched within the industry,” the Freedom Group said in a filing last year with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Why Cerberus went after gun companies isn’t clear. Many private investment firms shy away from such industries to avoid scaring off big investors like pension funds.

…Whatever the reason, Cerberus, through the Freedom Group, is now a major player.

Source: San Francisco Chronicle via The New York Times

While Cerberus may be acting purely from a business perspective in acquiring some of the largest and oldest gun manufacturers in America and they may have the best of intentions, we remain cautious about the New York Times’ interpretation of events (especially when we see the same news report republished in their sister magazine in San Francisco). It is, after all, the New York Times, a left leaning media organization that has long advocated, either directly or indirectly, restrictive gun legislation that runs counter to the Second Amendment.

Anytime a single company acquires most of the major players in an industry – and the most liberal leaning media outlet in the world plays it off as no big deal – it should be cause for contemplation. For all we know, the Freedom Group is intent on centralizing gun lobbying efforts into one organization. We’ve seen this kind of double speak before, and while the Freedom Group leaves a positive feel, so too does the “Patriot Act” until you get past the cover. If it turns out to be the gun industry equivalent of a Trojan Horse, and Freedom Group management is embedded with anti-Second Amendment leadership,  then the risk becomes that Congressional lobbying efforts to expand gun freedoms could be muted and restrictive legislation enacted as a result. There would, in essence, be no one left in American industry to fend off an attack on the second amendment.

We are, of course, speculating about the motivations of the Freedom Group’s parent company Cerberus Capital Management, but for conspiracy’s sake we’ll note that Cerberus is a mythical creature employed as Hades’ loyal watchdog to guard the gates to the underworld. This begs the question: Is the Freedom Group guarding and preserving the peoples’ right to bear arms (which seems to be the case), or are they the watchdogs for someone else, simply positioning the chess pieces for when the time is right?

      1. Too much MEGA-money in too few hands leads to freedom killing activity, even if the name of the company is “freedom”.

Thanks Mac, I had not heard of this story, but it does not surprise me. “They” know that one of the main hurdles with taking over America is we all have too many guns and bullets, and one way to “affect” that is buy up all the suppliers…

btw- We saw the same thing happen when BP and Shell (oil companies) bought up all the independent solar manufacturers.

        • If impacting how many guns, bullets and other related items is their agenda, they are A LOT late in the game. If I am not mistaken, the last estimate was that there are 3 guns for every person (children included) living on American soil.

They can have my gun when they pry it from my cold, boney, dead fingers!

          • Fed Up,

I’m on the same page but I think you may be missing the point. While we have lots of armed citizens now, I think “Freedom Group” (and I sort of spit when I say it) is creating a power base. They act like one of the “pro 2nd” crowd now, but when the government starts really going after the 2nd, just watch. I bet Freedom Group will be the first in line explaining to all the good citizens why we need to listen to what the government is saying and step in line. “It’s all very reasonable.” And “we’re from the government and we’re here to help.” Just Matt says, “kiss my ass!”

            • You might be right. If the government starts trying to find ways to circumvent the 2cd Amendment, they may go along with it. I guess I just don’t see the owners of a gun company wanting to give up their power.. er.. money… At any rate, maybe the government would manipulate the company so they don’t have a choice or offer them a “sweet deal” in exchange for their cooperation.

It is hard to predict the future since my crystal ball broke. Maybe the antenne on my Tin Foil Hat need adjusting. 😀

            • We saw the same thing happen when that British financier bought up controlling interests in Smith and Wesson, then cowtowed to the Clinton Administration’s gun control whims back in the 90’s. Remember what happened to Smith and Wesson’s products and their standing in the firearms marketplace? It tanked and it still hasn’t recovered.

I do not trust any corporation that had to be given taxpayer bailouts for their last venture, as it leaves me to wonder what portion of those purse strings (and subsequent purchases) are controlled by the fed.

If you want to impact a majority of gun manufacturers and haven’t been able to bankrupt them with junk lawsuits and excessive regulation, then purchase up the controlling stock interest and do exactly what they did with Chrysler and run it into the ground.

The endgame…. You control the industry because you cannot sell guns from a company who is bankrupted with too much debt and forced to scuttle the entire works and sell off the assets to cover preferred and common stockholder losses.

              Think: Gun Czar?

Gun control through stockholder greed caused by the roller coaster losses of the stock market is brilliant planning on the part of those billionaire rabidly anti-gun, world domination types, like George Soros.

Be very wary of cloaked figures in the night who claim to be on your side without any track record of their intentions as they may well stab you in the back once they believe they have your trust.

My best suggestion… buy lots of Marlin, Remington, DPMS and their other group of products before they are no longer available. Also, rally the NRA or other large firearms group to call them to task as to their intentions; to put their money where their mouths are, so to speak.

            • I have to agree a monopoly is never good.

            • We are missing the point. It is not guns they are controlling but the manufacter of ammunition. Notice that everybody now is out of 22ammo. That has been available for years… now it is gone ..From 10-12 dollars a brick to 40dollars per hundred.. very bad news

          • Fed Up – “Your terms are acceptable.”

(One of the best lines in Men in Black)

            • We can live in denial all we want, but the truth is that there are sinister forces at work to destroy America as we know it. All we have to do is read history to see what despots did to the citizenry once they got in power. Even Hitler posed as an angel of light with his grandiose promises of a better Germany for the people. The German people trusted him and bought into his lies. It’s called deception! Can you think of someone today who has deceived the American people?

              Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

“Experience has shown that even under the best forms of government, those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”
              – Thomas Jefferson

              America….beware!

          • Yes I agree but what about bullets? you can have all the guns you want but you better have a shitload of bullets!

        • Their normal MO is to call it what they want you to think it is, but it’s real intent is 180 degrees out ie: Patriot Act, Card Check, Fairness Doctrine, and on and on and on…….

        • I wonder if the name isn’t just a ploy to lead some astray and false confidence and trust??

          • BJ, ever read legislation? You know, like the “Health Care Choices Act of 2009″… One of the first things someone does to take something from you is try to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. I’ve been very suspicious about this for a long time.

I’m with That Guy: too much consolidated in one makes me nervous. Can you spell “Central Control”. Even if The Freedom Group is truly about “freedom”, the consolidation of firearms manufacturing resources under the control (however direct) still makes me nervous. Many smaller targets are harder to bring down that one big one. You just put all of your resources into killing the elephant and bring it down.

Would you rather have an elephant trying stomp you or an equivalent number of rats, by weight, trying to eat you?

Its the same principal. They get all the resources gathered up and then they’re on, big target that cannot be hidden.

            Here is the Wikipedia entry:

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Group

Looks suspicious. Looks like a takeover.

          • The name freedom group is typical mo of the left. They have nice sounding names that let the unaware believe the government is safe and yet does the opposite. Its a name made for diversion. Like obamacare is called the “patient protection and affordable care act” ……….give me a break.

            sanF

        • With the exception of Remington, most of these are low level manufacturers of little consequence.

Buying existing production facilities is a quick way to expand capacity and achieve economies of scale, by expanding the Remington brand and product lines; which is what I would do making “Bushmaster” and “Panther” product lines for particular weapons.

These owners appear to be neo-cons and dual citizens looking to capitalize on the small arms market potential in, I would guess, Revolutionary Africa. Lots of wars scheduled there as the NWO extends it grasp.

Given this investment I feel much more confident that Hillary’s Small Arms Treaty goes NO WHERE!

On another note, this firm is very well connected, but has never been very successful in its endeavors. Too little too late to stop
          American gun ownership.

          This is for export.

          • DK, you consider Bushmaster, DPMS and Marlin low end? While I would not put them above Remington, I certainly would put them in the low end category. Maybe the “Not High End” category. But then, not much can compete with Winchester and Ruger. 😉

            • NR: I wasn’t talking about quality, I was talking quantity and brand ID.

Remington has a much higher historical profile than these newer brands.

I would wrap these other names into the Remington Brand by labeling a particular product line after them, ie Ford Mustang, etc.

            • NR: Example: “Wells Fargo Bank” is in no way the historical Wells Fargo. It went broke years ago and was merged into First Interstate Bank, HQ’d in Minneapolis.

These bank CEOs were brothers. After the merger the solvent bank (First Interstate)kept the Wells Fargo brand name and moved its top management to San Francisco.

I mean, wouldn’t you rather run a business from SF than the Twin Cities?

In a similar way, I would keep the Remington brand as the corporate name, but say, use the Bushmaster name for an assault rifle and Panther for a sniper rifle under the Remington brand.

The key to these transactions is achieving market share and economies of scale. Otherwise much ado about nothing, I think.

The Ruger foundry is down the road and around the corner. 🙂

        • All I worry about are quality issues on AMMO and those not much. Not worried about the Anti gun buying up the manuf. First off, I like guns ,but honestly, Do you think if they stopped making them, how long before a shortage exists? 50 years? 100? My 03 still shoots. Ammo is almost as bad, I see a lot of ammo being sold; darn little being shot.

          • Buy components, learn to cast & load your own. Don’t keep all your ammo/supplies in one cache.

        • Too many bad things transpire in the name of “freedom”. This may very well be one more.

        • Freedom group anything named that in ‘ 1984’???
          ministry of love type thing??

What better way to disarm Americans, big banksters buy up all the manufacturers, when they have em all, they can close them down..SOoOO simple
this used to be a free country, but then the bankster bought control(1911 Jekyll island)

        • When you trace all the “missing” money from MF Global, TARP & the stimulus packages, that leaves alot of cash washing around to throw @ buying up strategic companies (like gun companies) buying off white tarts who alledge having affairs with Herm Cain…….oh just any old thing to direct the new facist ship of state along it’s merry old pathway, that’s alot of jingle in the pocket folks.

        • I believe we need to look at two Universal Truths in situations like this:

          1. Follow the Money.

          2. The simplest explanation is most likely the correct one.

This is not in the same class as when a single financier bought S&W and went PC.

Nor is what is going on in this story in the least unusual compared to the same thing that is going on across all industries. All you have to do is look at the Family Tree of any name recognized brand and you will be shocked at how many diverse brands are subsidiaries/branches of some mega-corp who has bought into or bought up totally numerous companies.
Eventually, every company we do business with will be owned by fewer and fewer mega-corps, until one mega-corp will own every brand out there. Its money folks, pure and simple. When one group owns many diverse brands, or owns many similar industries, you get less competition, more price control, more everything that puts that group in charge of the majority of the market. These people won’t buy up multiple brands just to kill them off for some political purpose. Political agendas, whether pro or con, need money and lots of it. The Freedom Group simply is vying for monetary/profit control of an industry, well, actually many industries. Diversity makes more money, same as any individual’s diverse investment portfolio does. Not every tree hides a boogeyman, but that doesn’t mean you don’t check it out just in case…be vigilant.
Personally I hate to see companies bought up by these big conglomerates. They become faceless, isolated from their customers compared to when they were individual firms. Big and bureaucratic. DPMS is in my area, and I bought my first AR from the founder out of a garage he used as a shop in Osseo, MN, when they first opened. When they moved to Becker, MN and had a building, you could go there and chat with them and they’d show you all over their facility. They set up at local gunshows, and you actually could talk with them and get personal service, even from the owner. Once Remington (Freedom Group) bought them up, then Big Corp rules went into effect. No shop visits, no gunshows, no personal service.
Just another bad trend that is strangling this country.

          • This president and congress seem willing to bankrupt the oil business and the American people along with it. So I wouldn’t put it past them to do the same with the fun stuff companies either.

        • Another point of concern is that that a Wall Street investment company could gut the companies and bankrupt them, just as so many investment firms have closed down viable companies in the last 30 years in the ‘pump and dump’ model.

Why isn’t the SEC investigating this company for monopoly laws infringement, and wht better way for the super-rich globalists to manipulate the price and availability of firearms and ammunition in the market?

          • The total market share held by “Freedom” is very small.Remington Arms is but s shaddow of what it was back just twenty years ago.

This all seems to be “much to do about nothing!”

        • Doesn’t this sound like an antitrust case?

        • Cerbrus is a hedge fund that buys up stressed businees, they own the largest paper copany in the US. They also owned car rental companies, tupperware. They buy these copanies , build the up , and take them public to make money…

        • The only thing I can see happening with this is that after this “Freedom Group” has bought out almost every major firearms producer, they will simply halt operations. Simple!! No need to outlaw guns if no guns are produced.
Am I the only one who sees this?

          • It would be too much to hope for! I hope you are right.

        • Here’s my prediction. Freedom Group will buy up all of the gun manufacturers and then “set company policy” to only sell guns to the military. Therefore, you won’t be able to buy guns or ammo without the need for gun control legislation. You will technically have the right to bear arms, but none of the manufacturers will want to sell to you.

        • This whole story is B.S.

      2. I’m watching Henry which promotes “Made in USA”.

        • Slim,

I hate to be the one that tells you this, but the fact is nobody on any of these blogs want to hear ideas that promote try to save the USA. You see that doesn’t sell. I prepare for the worst, I buy what I think my family will need, I pray to the good lord to help us through this trying times, I come here and post comments but in the 1 yr I have been going to all the sites nobody seems interest in trying to save this country. Buy USA is great I do, I get pissed when I find out something with a American company is made in Japan, to the point I send it back to them. Thats just what I have noticed

          Sincerely,

          DPS

          • Henry is a family owned business and it sounds like you have never seen their video for sales. I hate to be the one that tells you but I’m not trying to sell you anything or any ideas. When I see Henry sell to a corp, the writing on the wall will be complete (for me). I feel the same way as you and I do take you sincerely. Have you ever held or shot a Henry? Beautiful guns that are well made. Go to their web site and read comments from others and you will find that you are preaching to the quire. I don’t mean to be any more short than you.

            • Slim,

Yes I love the Henry guns, And I realize you are not trying to sell me anything. And yes I know that my statement will be hidden due to fingers down. And that’s fine, you see I’m one of those guys that just says what I think. I don’t do this to disrespect any body sir. I do it because that what I was raised to do. Like my Dad always to me, having a opinion can be a very unpopular thing.

          • DPS–any advice on American-made toys for Christmas? Lincoln Logs and American Girl Dolls are now made in China. Such BS. Legos were always made in Denmark, but now are also made in Mexico, Korea, etc. Maybe I should be hitting the stores carrying Amish-made goods for Christmas…

I used to scoff at my parents’ refusal to buy foreign-made cars, but now I understand the point they were trying to make.

            • Mama Bear,

Check out the lehman’s web site so really cool toys for kids

              DPS

            • Thanks DPS….I kind of look askance at Lehmans, but will give them another try. They have some really cool things, but I figured out they were a little overpriced when I compared their “do it yourself” laundry soap to the raw materials (borax, fels naptha soap, washing soda, a bucket and a wooden spoon)–they were overcharging by a ridiculous amount. That’s why I like to shop at stores in our Amish community…they do not take lightly to being screwed out of the money they earned the old-fashioned way!

            • Mama Bear,
Your welcome Maam, Its good to see other folks looking to buy American made.
Its just a thought if you really want to do something for the kids or grand kids why not give them something that will last forever. Your time spend the day with them teaching somethings that you were tought growing up. Drag out those old 8mm films with out sound and show them what goofy kids we are were growing up. Myself I intend to take my daughter shooting for the day thats all she wanted for christmas, my time and attention.

              DPS

            • mamabear, toysmadeinamerica . com

            • I saw some pretty cool toys on the Lehman’s site–Amish-made Lincoln Logs and an Indian Teepee for my 2-year-old boy caught my eye…the 5-year-old is already getting an American Girl doll. They are so young, and already have more toys than any kid should own; it is ridiculous. I would like to get them each a rabbit, but DH put the kibosh on that seeing as we alreay have a dog, two cats, a turtle, guinea pig and a pond full of koi. Plus they would probably be pretty mad if we had to eat the bunnies WTSHTF…LOL!

            • Go to ‘Still Made in America .com’

            • My last Ford truck had metric nuts and bolts mixed in and indicated that the parts were made in Mexico and assembled in Canada. Next I bought a Toyota all signs point to it being made in a plant in Kentucky.

          • DPS:I’m with you on the “buy USA” thing.Don’t know if it will do any good, but I try to do what I can. I sleep better at night knowing most of the things I buy are made here rather than “over there”.
            Best to All

          • You speak like a GOOD family man and I knew that before, during & after from your previous posts.

          • lehmans is pricey and if you have their catalog you will find that many of their items are actually imported. best bet is to spend the dollars rght there at the community that makes the goods. another company that swears they make their shoes in usa is new balance..that may be true, but their shoes are made from imported goods. same goes for your furniture manufacturing-most upholstery is made and precut overseas..this put alot of folks out of business here in n.e.miss. go to hancock fabrics, hobby lobby, or joann fabrics for 100% cotton. if you check the end of the bolt for price by the yard you will also see that chances are very good the fabric is from china. the only fabric shop i find that sells fabric made with usa cotton, woven and printed in usa is connecting threads..pricey but real quality. if i am gonna spend my money anywhere i would like to know who makes the product and what is it made from and who is making the profit for it..is it a fellow american or is it someone who hates us.

      3. If I own a company, or companies and they are privately held; I alone make the decisions regarding capital investments, product development, R&D, marketing etc.
If I decide that I no longer wish to pursue a particular market segment; no one can counter my decision.

If you can’t beat them, buy them.

      4. buy ’em now, stack ’em up and make sure you lay-in a lifetime supply of ammo and lubricants for each one of the and no less than 10 hi-cap mags apiece.

If TPTB can somehow manage our circus hologram of a democracy they created long enough that YOU won’t need these weapons to protect life, limb and property….I guarantee you that your children will when it ALL comes apart.

Just remember, don’t break the law. Acquire legally and don’t go all Tackleberry (aka Full Retard) unless/until there’s already blood running in the streets. You can’t protect your loved ones and life’s work from a jail cell or a detention camp.

      5. Lets play pretend, this group is who they are, but lets say they issue a recall order on a lot of the newer sold units or they are unknown to any body they are installing micro tracking unit in each of these, who wounld they be accountable to, or once people found out, they could simply say sorry we will remove them. you say they couldn’t hide such a devise with out any one knowing, now about looking at your dollar bills boys.

        • that is what I was thinking or just make all the newer products defective junk with bad ammo that won’t fire

          • BJ,

Or maybe the CEO is a simply American that wants to provide more for his family, Maybe he is just chasing the American dream. Since when did it become a crime against humanity to earn money? Isn’t that what a America was built on? I don’t claim to know this man , but I can say that if I had that kind of money you can bet your a– I’d be buying firearm companies left and right. This is no means a attack on you BJ I see you as a man that wants more for your family to. It is our god given right to want to improve ourselves..I watched last winter as you struggled to find work. We all struggle, Instead of seeing the bad in the story I see it as a inspiration, that yes there is still opportunity out there.

            Respectively,
            DPS

            • Hopefully you are right, although something just seems off kilter with this story…maybe I am a pessimist?

But on another line of thinking, didn’t some one above mention that monopolies are illegal?

            • along those lines, the most probable scenario is that they see the coming collapse and social unrest around the world and figure they can make some big bucks when it happens. You don’t drop all that money on companies just to shut them down, unless you are going to sell them off piecemeal. This is an investment company and they have been around for a while trying to make money. Sometimes they don’t make a good decision, like chrysler, but sometimes they can see the writing on the wall. If I remember correctly, I think they also picked up the whole foods chain of stores, getting into naturals, vitamins, and organics. They are probably looking at the shift in public sentiment and coming collapse and want a good way to make money off of it. After all, what would you be willing to pay to defend your family once the SHTF?

            • Cerberus does’nt buy anything without a longterm goal. The people who Own it are not your friends.

            • And there is a easter bunny 😛

      6. In due time ALL corporations will be destroyed. Whatever corp “thinks” it might own these manufacturing facilities, there will be a day when the corrupted courts will no longer be able to enforce the claims of a fiction in a bankrupted fictional world of debt.

In the end, the FINAL war will be between the People God put on this Earth and the corporations spawned by the most evil among us.

So long as the govcorp can support it’s creations by delivering the People ignorantly into perpetual debt, it will be so.

Again, it comes down to the power to create money. It must be taken away from the govcorp and it’s criminal partner.

Until the Power to create money is returned to the People, they will be left without power. That is the battle folks. There are no other issues of relevance.

        • And the corporations own the house, and henceforth the house edge.

If I can bet, I will bet on the corporations.

          • The advantage depends on what you use for chips and who gets to create them.

            • You may be the only one on this site who gets it. Create the chips…YOU OWN THE GAME!!!!!

        • That’s probably why it says this in the article. He is aware of that.

“This prompted the National Rifle Association to step in to assure American gun owners that this wasn’t a behind the scenes coup. “The owners and investors involved are strong supporters of the Second Amendment and are avid hunters and shooters,” the NRA said in a statement.”

          • What if NRA is the boogeyman in a three-piece suit??
You don’t think they can be bought??
Dh is moving to Guns of America..at least there’ll be less mail.

            • from what I can see and read and have heard from other older gun gurus, today’s NRA is NOT the old NRA

            • BJ, the NRA sold us out multiple times. They have incessantly caved on legislation multiple times. They are big enough to be bought off and I think, in the 60s, they were.

But, thats all in the past. I don’t like the NRA because they are this huge marketing machine that sells insurance, etc. I’m a lifetime member of CCRKBA (Citizen’s Committee for the Right to Keep and Bare Arms). They were instrumental in getting the gun ban lifted in DC.

Anyways, I’m sure some place has the history of the failures of the NRA. The politicians claim they’re scared of them at times, however, thats an excuse. They wouldn’t want to admit that over one third of the population are gun owners that dream about shooting greedy, self serving, anti-gun politicians when they sleep. Its public pressure that stop them, not the NRA or the CCRKBA or the GOA.

            • I don’t care for the constant pleas for funds from the NRA or any of them. I do what I can do and I gaurantee that, on a percentage basis, it is a lot more than most folks. I got this little thing in my head that says I have to have tried peacefully before I start doing things the hard way. Lots of letters to my elected lunatics, and money to causes for freedom, that sort of thing.

Here is the way I do it: Lifetime member NRA. Lifetime member JPFO. Annual member Gun Owners of America. Annual member Oregon Firearms Federation. When possible I buy from them and link them to comments on news stories. I always trash talk Sarah Brady and every other person that supports genocide.

Check out “No Guns for Negroes” and all of the other fine material at JPFO. They’re my kind of advocacy organization….kind of radical, LOL.

            • JJ You’ve got a point, a big one. I like the NRA yet have had suspicion of them for quite some time and my reasoning is thus: Any legitimate threat to the anti-gunners or the plans of our ZOG Government is almost immediately “dealt” with in one manner or another, and it’s only going to get worse the more hostile they become against American citizens. Nazism/Socialism is definately gearing up again, and history has a way of repeating itself. God help us.

      7. Obviously gun manufaturing is a lucrative buisness, and currently with the shit thats getting played out in our treasonous government, the sales of these tools of liberty, are flying off the shelfs..in their own report they show the ammount of arms and ammo sold, sure doesnt look like they are holding back, if anything they see a need and are filling that order.

Cerberus ..hummm, anyone have any insight as to whom the owners are and what their stand on the second amendment is?
maybe they are working both sides of this, it wouldnt be the first time an arms manufaturer built for both sides of a conflict

            • nice catch VRF. Thanks.

          • A hell of a lot of jews in that group, who have been behind most of the anti-gun legislation (Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein). I’m highly skeptical of Cerberus from seeing that list of its Executive officers.

            • “A lot Jews” are not the same as zionist. Check it out.

          • Steve Feinberg
His hobbies include game hunting, chess, skiing, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Steve and Gisela Feinberg are prolific donors to the Republican Party and related organizations. Former Republican Vice President of the United States Dan Quayle works for Cerberus as Chairman of Global Investments, and former United States Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was a client.

            • VRF, what in that list is supposed to reassure us?

            • @john Q..Nothing was in that list to re-assure you..except that Soros isnt part of that group according to that..

and to give the information of who is, in case we ever need to know

          • Need to find out who are the major shairholders are they can influence the companies direction.

            • yep..and Russ, thats your job.
post it when you find it
              thanks
              VRF

        • Guns will be outlawed soon. When they are this company will be bailed out. The BANKERS know this, that is who owns this company!

      8. I have heard of this freedom group, usaually(nowdays) what ever a groups name is, they are the opposite of. Well, I am watching c-span, no corzine yet. You think he is HANGING with the dc maddame? hahahahahahahahahahah!

        • “I didn’t know where the money is.”

          • Ha! Check his pockets!

          • they can track every dollar, every phonecall, every text message, i call bs. Its a showtrial, he will go to jail for a bit, so save his family perhaps( maybe have a hat attack like the Enron thief) and the banksters that snagged it are laughing all the way to the………. halls of congress

      9. The freak Alex Jones pusher of paranoia started this rumor and all his minions are eating it up. Does not mean we have to.

        • Danny, I wouldn’t call AJ a freak. I’d call him an over active doomer. Maybe a TFH’er (Tin Foil Hatter). He has a lot of good information which he promptly re-interprets, cranks up the volume and the treble and makes you think you should go outside and look up to watch the sky falling.

Look, you can learn a lot by listening to AJ. Just don’t take his stuff at face value. Heck, I don’t even take stuff here at face value. Its just not smart. I’m neither sheople nor anti-sheople. I am sheep dog. Just because the US Government and the LameStream media is trying to brainwash us doesn’t mean that every one that preaches against them is correct too. Don’t be a repeater or any type. Take in info, check it against common sense and sources. If it doesn’t fit or pass your personal CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check, an IT term) then reject it.

        • I disagree. Alex Jones does get carried away with volume and emotion on occasion, but everything he says is backed with names, dates and sources. He has reliable, notable guests who are experts in their fields.

With all the crap coming down on us now by the corrupt establishment it is wise and prudent to take heed and prepare. Or is it wiser to stand there and think we are paranoid freaks?

I am reading “The Creature From Jekyll Island”. How paranoid does one have to be to learn the truth of the planning, secrecy, the stated but actual, goals of The Federal Reserve and our corrupt banking system? It is just the tip of the iceberg.

          • There people that are fully awake to whats going on, and then there are people who cannot , will not ever …sad but true. Most Americans moved to Egypt, floating on ‘de nile’
If it is not ‘produced’ by tel-lie-vision it does not exist

      10. I thought we had laws in place to keep monopolies from forming.

Apparently that is not the case when it is part of the “agenda”.

        • Mr. Blutarsky,

You have highlighted a fact of which “free market” libertarians should take note. “Free market” enthusiasts pretend that government is the enemy of business, but that is totally delusional. Big money always buys off the government, so business and government are always partners in crime against you and me.

          • Blut,

There is a difference between capitalism and CRONY capitalism. True free market leaves the crony out.

            • The difference is this:

“True free market” capitalism is a fiction, never happened, never will; “crony” capitalism is reality.

          • Our government in truth, is a corporation.

          • The reason why big money buys off government, is that government has the power.

Government has the power because government is too big.

Cut government down to size, and big business stands alone.

      11. This isn’t new news, Its Soros! Want to really get them out of our business quickly? Don’t buy their products. If you own them find there defects and sue them. Post videos on YouTube of any weapons or equipment failures.

Spread the word about the ownership. Most gun owners are conservatives. Buying their product is like donating money to the anit gun liberals. The profits will be used to take your gun. Isn’t that ironic, paying them to come take your gun and rights???

        • Its not Mr. Schwartz.

      12. The New York Times is not left-leaning

        • I think you forgot to include: *sarcasm*

I hope you enjoy this great news as I did when I was told.

        Paul Lowe

OUTSTANDING!! I just left my neighbors house. Devon is with the National Guard for this area. He just got home from a EDRE (emergency deployment readiness exercise) at the armory. He said that during the exercise 3 companies of infantry were polled by questionare about the drill and it’s purpose. One of the questions was, will you as a member of the Nat. Guard use lethal force against the American public if ordered to do so? One of the men stepped forward and refused to take the poll and explained that it was a moral judgement on his part and that he could not do so. He then placed his weapon on the ground and fell in behind the formation. Devon said it was like a waterfall, Every member layed their weapons on the deck and fell in beside the one lone specialist. This included ALL NCO’s, STAFF NCO’s and SENIOR NCO’s. The only people left in front of the original formation was 3 Capt’s. 2 Lt’s and the BN Commander who was so upset he started having chest pains from yelling and screaming about court martials and disbandment of the unit into other units. Devon is a Mstr.Sgt and he went with his troops and told them that he could not be prouder of any of them. He was floating while he was telling me this. Maybe we have more than just hope on our side. SEMPER FI. my thanks for the honor of being here Robert
        Paul Lowe

I just heard from Devon. He was TX’d by his Plt LDR and advised that the Specialist Who first layed down his weapon is being held in county jail by the Bn CMDR, awaiting a hearing under the UCMJ. Devon couldn’t get any more info than that. I don’t want to post the mans name until we have more information. I am so upset by this that I am having chest pains. How can they do this to one soldier and not them all. I will let you know how things go. Think I might go lay down for a bit. SEMPER FI.
Gary Greene That is great, sort of, to hear. That the officers wont stand by THEIR oath is troubling. Where is this?

        • Make sure you keep us posted.

Can you find out the name of the battalion commander? It sounds as though he should be under obsevation.

        • On the topic of the Specialist who first layed down his weapon.

The facts are the facts, when one person dissents, the odds of others dissenting go up dramatically. Likewise, when one person steps up to help, others will too.

Beacause of this, TPTB will target the one who had the audacity to dissent, make an example of them, and show those who “followed” the orginal dissentor to try to gain future compliance.

          Please do keep us updated.

          • Fed Up,

I would think by targeting the first man to lay down his arms, they will be opening up a can of rage,I was brought up too stand aside my brothers in their time of need. So by locking up just one man leaves a whole bunch of pissed off men. I don’t know maybe I’m just different then most but I’ll try and keep the info coming.

            DPS

            • I didn’t say TPTB had any brains or that their actions wouldn’t spark rage in the dissentors group if they singled him out, I simply stated that those are generally the actions of those in power trying to maintain control over the group.

I know that many of the folks who come here are in the dissenting minority. It is my hope that more folks in the Armed Forces are like the specialist you mentioned -they have integrity. It is my belief that it is folks like this specialist who will dissent if TS ever HTF.

          • Think Michael New.

        • DPS; this should make us all mad. Evil and the push to destroy this country has no quit in them. They keep pushing to see how far they can go with us.
Around 2000, a unit(won’t say to protect them) was asked during a questionare, if ordered to attack Israeli, would they have any problems with it? Would they have any problems firing at Israelis? Good news; 93% said yes.

          • DRD5508,

Your right it should makes us mad, The words that came out of my mouth when I read this well I won’t go there. I also sent this on to our son who just deployed as well as our oldest that has been over 4 times, his responsewas ( see I told you so) meaning our young men know whats right and better yet know whats wrong. There really isn’t a gray area.

            DPS

I know I’ll be glad for the weather to clear up to, I owe I owe so soon of to work I’ll go.

          • That 93% has been watching too much H✡llyw✡✡d propaganda on their Talmudvisions.

            • The 93% are saying that they would have a problem with attacking Israel.

            • Exactly. That 93% should be willing to defend the USA from “Israel,” its bankers, its other swindlers, it genocidal warmongers, its pornographers, its sex slavers, etc. etc. etc.

        • That squares with my experiences in exercises over in Korea. The officers were pretty damn useless. Lt’s on up. Fucking useless bastards and bastardettes who couldn’t tell gas from diesel.

My best day over there was washing dishes all day for Sgt. Platt. The cold froze the mud and the hot water kept me warm through my hands. Wonderful day. There was just something about Sgt Platt, black as Kiwi and just a natural leader, worked the hardest himself, kept everything running smooth, and he may have had some ‘nam experience, he was a bit older than me obviously. But some of these guys, you’d charge into a hail of bullets for – a Sgt. Garner in Basic was like that too. You knew if you were in a tough situation they’d be right there with you.

And what forms that kind of people. I’m willing to bet Platt and Garner, yep both black, grew up rural, at least working-class, no corners cut for ’em and they learned early on that work and hard work is the only way, no excuses. Bet their Mom’s paddled ’em! They grew up the way I did, or tougher.

Meanwhile, the officers, and they were a fair racial mix too, seemed to come from different backgrounds. Middle-class, or least with middle-class expectations. I heard more than one confess that they signed up for the officer program because they didn’t realize their original goals, but had a college degree. The program was 90 days, hence the term 90-day-wonder. They tended to be lazy, and had quite the entitlement mentality. Bet none of ’em had to haul buckets of water etc. as kids!

So if the military is turned against the American people, it may be officers vs. enlisted types? I’m gonna feel sorry for the officers … Nah, I’m not I was pulling your leg!

          • Orders are orders. Some people will blindly follow orders, to the bitter end, like the boys in HitlerJugend who fought till they were taken down.

          • I must agree on the officer description… even though I am one of the bastards…
I think you are right, alc, about the background cause for all this. My best pals from army are sarges not officers. I just couldn’t get along with those overpompous schmucks who thought they were better than the rest. being an officer I can just speculate that they got this mentality from getting the stars on their shoulders (ranks are denoted by stars in Lithuania). Lt’s were not so bad (if I got my hand on them early on) but as time went and stars piled on the shoulders, all of them began having this “star sickness” that we called (by WE I mean me and sergeants)
you have to steer clear of any officer in SHTF scenario. they are dangerous incompetent animals, who have no respect for human life or interpersonal morality. their mind is broken by years in those military academies. You wouldn’t believe some things that they indulge in their thinking! Orders are sacrosanct for them, everything else (freedom, liberty, humanity, you name it) comes second if at all.
You have been warned! steer clear of any military officer. the higher the rank the worse the condition! anything higher than captain is a complete raving lunatic dreaming of aggrandizing himself by murdering anyone in sight.
I know I’m pooping in my own garden (being an officer and all) but the truth will set us free. I must tell that I would have become one of such mindless zombie-officers, but faith decided that I had to go to Sweden for my military education, and there I had a quite different experience of military career. when I returned to Lithuania, I was shocked and awed by the complete lack of competence and humane treatment of one’s own subordinates.
having said that, I must add that there were some officer who did not fit to that description, but they are in such a minority, that it is hardly worth mentioning (I mentioned this only out of respect for them who did not loose their human part)

          • I had a different experience with officers. I was enlisted and worked for the ADC (Assistant Division Commander) of a light infantry division. The CG, both ADCs and the C of S were true leaders. Then again, every one of them had fought in War2, Korea & Nam. As a matter of fact my ADC was only a bird colonel sitting in a BG slot so I didn’t have an Lt aide de camp to worry about. Anyway, he had fought in the European Theater and was in the woods outside of Bastogne when McAuliffe made his famous reply. After Hitler ate his Rosco Col. Singer, who was an E5 Sgt at the time, was waiting to get sent back to the states. One morning when they were in formation the Bn. XO came out and asked who wanted to go to West Point? The colonel told me no one knew what West Point was but the XO said “you have to go to Paris for the physical” so he raised his hand.

So 22 (23?) years later he walks in as the newly assigned Brigade XO of the 3rd Brigade of the 101st in Nam. The CO looked at him and said your in charge, walked out and went to Japan for a week of R&R. That night Charlie launched the Tet.

Yeah, I had good officers and a great job. (But I have met some Lts & captains I wouldn’t follow into a whorehouse also)

        • God Bless the troops. Sadly the government will just impose more taxes and hire the likes of “BlackWater” private contractors to get the job. Or worse; bring in the “UN” blue helmets….

          • Jim,

That may be true, but here is something to think about. What happens if these young men chose to not lay the guns down? What happens if the decide that they will not point their guns at the people but instead stand up and Say what we all know to be true. (That Sir is Treason)and you sir are a domestic threat and the for you are under arrest..Give that a little thought.

            DPS

            • You can’t under estimate our enemy. If the bureaucrat expects the soldiers to turn their weapons back on them and try to defend our constitution my guess is the blue helmets will already have them surrounded.

My God if they consider a prepper a terrorist threat imagine what they think of a National Guard Unit that would disobey their command?

            • Jim,
The NATO troops are already here on our soil and trained

            • that takes real courage…and courage only takes a private or corporal or mgysgt so far. i have heard of it happening however. in small groups. the treasonist bastard is usually just sent elsewhere where he wont bother or be noticed by anyone else that has scruples.

        • How heck did the most honorable fighting force in the world get created to serve the most dishonorable bunch of murdering thieves? It may escape your logical though process until you realize that honor and ethics must be present to make effective warriors. TPTB, since they have no honor, cannot understand it and, therefore to their peril, have over looked it.

…and they will choke on it because we will choke them with it!

Don’t ever count America out. The American spirit endures. Someone tell those boys that they make us proud to be called Americans with them!

I was just told today that there is no way American gun owners could stand up against the military. He’s right but for the wrong reason. He meant we’d be out gunned. We can’t stand against them because if stand *WITH* us! This is very much because of the honor and courage of these fine young people, however, it is also due to a large part that OathKeepers has played in the last few years.

Thanks be to The Lord for OathKeepers!

          • NetRanger,

You hit that one on the nail. Oathkeepers and our soldiers, Thats Honor.

PS read their site these morning about the feds wanting a list from the mormons, Scary stuff..

            • DPS,
Yes, about 8:15am FEMA came into a Tennesee LDS Cannery and demanded their list of customers who buy long-term foods from the Mormon Church volunteers who give their time to hep people can up their food storage. The volunteers told then (according to the press) they did not have a list. FEMA demanded to know if anyone paid for their food with a check. The colunteer countered that they did not.

For some of you who don’t know it is a Mormon Church principle for members to buy up and store or can at least one year of food for lifes uncertain times as well as storms, power outages or a terrorist attack. This has been church doctrine for 150 years.

Today the Senate passed a bill making it against the law for ‘anyone’ in America to have more than a weeks worth of food in your house. I aid and teach food storage to new and old once a year at the Corpus Christi Ward. I taught my first class last February. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in June this year. According to this new law.. I am a wheelchair bound, widow of a late attorney (old WWII pilot), faithful to God – law-breaker terrorist. Buy more rice, beans, water storage, and your favorite viddles.

          • Nancy Kosling,

What bill did they pass saying its illegal to keep more then a weeks worth of food stored? If you going to drop a bombshell like that I myself want to read this bill.

            DPS

            • @DPS
It first passed the Senate in ’09. The bill has been amended and changed around to some degree ever since, but can’t make it through the House. It has never been signed into “law” (if there is still such a thing with the criminals we have in DC).
I looked this bill up last night, it is S510. Infowars was blowing off about it.
It concerns the complete control of all food. Supposedly Monsanto is behind it.

        • THEIR OATH never included turning their guns on their neighbors, so they ARE standing up for their oaths as they should.

        • “One of the questions was, will you as a member of the Nat. Guard use lethal force against the American public if ordered to do so?” Am I the only one who is enraged by the taxpayer-funded standing U.S. forces asking a question like this? Especially given that Congress just passed an obscene bill authorizing the military to consider U.S. territory as part of their “battlefield”; and especially considering the increasingly violent response of local police and their imported military “helpers” to even the most peaceful protests? It is NOT an innocent question, folks. There is a very good reason why they’re asking this question. It’s this background reason which infuriates me. Cut off ALL their funding. NOW!

      14. Off topic, sorry. Mf global up date. Gensler from the cftc took a trip out of the country today. hahahahahahahahahaha! RUN,CROOK,RUN! Clasic $hit! Why does this concern shtf readers? THEY STOLE MASS PHYSICAL gold/silver, and they manipulate the price of physical in our pockets.

      15. Time to shoot the traitorous officers

      16. Cerebus and the firearm companies acquisition is old news. This group pruchased these companies to make money. Apparently they also purchased Chrysler. If you don’t have what you need in firearms then you’re behind the curve.

      17. Scary! A monopoly like this will, at a minimum, result in rising prices due to lack of competition.

      18. “Cerberus ( /ˈsɜrbərəs/),[1] or Kerberos, (Greek form: Κέρβερος, [ˈkerberos])[2] in Greek and Roman mythology, is a multi-headed hound (usually three-headed)[1][3][4]”

“Cerberus was the offspring of Echidna, a hybrid half-woman and half-serpent, and Typhon, a fire-breathing giant whom even the Olympian gods feared. Its brother is Orthrus, always depicted as a two-headed hellhound.[5] The common depiction of Cerberus in Greek mythology and art is as having three heads. In most works the three-heads each respectively see and represent the past, the present, and the future, while other sources suggest the heads represent birth, youth, and old age.[6] Each of Cerberus’ heads is said to have an appetite only for live meat and thus allow the spirits of the dead to freely enter the underworld, but allow none to leave.[7] Cerberus was always employed as Hades’ loyal watchdog, and guarded the gates that granted access and exit to the underworld (also called Hades).[8]”

Thought others might see a possible similarity here:)

        • So in my dream where my team used a Remington 700, 30-06 and a Gold Triggered Marlin 336, 30-30 and a H&R Single Shot, 44 magnum to shoot a 3-headed demon guarding the well of souls to release the spirits of The American Revolution to devour the living essence of The Powers That Be was maybe symbolic of something?

          Hmmmm…

          That ROCKS! Lock and load!

          • Sorry Ranger. It was a Marlin 45-70. It just looks like your 336.

(I’ve got one of those also, GLR)

      19. Something doesn’t quite sound correct regarding the intentions of the Freedom Group. I followed the link above and cut this comment out of the story from Business Week News:

“Feinberg’s Cerberus Capital Management LP formed Freedom by acquiring competing arms manufacturers, including Remington Arms Co., and melding them into a single company. Freedom filed for the IPO in October 2009, only to experience several setbacks since then, including a slower gun market in 2010 and the September departure of Chief Executive Officer Theodore Torbeck”

This statement regarding firearm sales in 2010 is bogus. Sales for firearms are and have been at record levels since the Bamster was elected as president. Trust no one.

Also, regarding the Henry Firearms comments above…I agree that buying USA made, and Henry Firearm products are both good ideas. I went to see Santa last weekend and asked for this one…http://henryrepeating.com/rifle-survival-ar7.cfm

Even if you don’t need another rifle you need this one.

        • You want an excellent piston driven AR platform with “bar none” customer service? Check out LWRCI. Located in Cambridge, MD. I currently own the REPR in the 20 inch and 16 inch uppers in 7.62 and the new SPR in 5.56, with the spiral fluted barrel (16 inch) all of which are subminute of angle. With these, my poor M1A are pulling “safe queen” duty and rarely see the light of day.

          • POP, the Jokes On You! You AR guys are just all over it. You see the letters and you just can’t help it! Its OK. We love you the way you are!

But, I got a chuckle. The AR7 is a fine little 22 takedown where it will all fit in the butstock. …and it floats. Not originally a Henry design. Armalite marketed them years ago.

Regardless, I did enjoy your blurb above. Safe Queen duty. Hehehe. You’re a funny guy!

After reading this fine article I went out and checked out Henry. I have a couple rifles I think I’ll trade. I need one of their leverguns in 44Mag. 44Mag, My 4th love. Palm smackin’ good!

            • NR, I know what you’re saying. Trust me I’ve had quite a few DI (direct impingement) AR’s that leave the shooter wanting. One of my M1A’s is a custom Fulton Armory build on a Sage EBR chassis, but it can’t hold a candle to the REPR’s accuracy. The AR has evolved and come along way since the first design by Eugene Stoner prior to the Vietnam War. Still, I’m not putting down the DI guns. Larue tactical make a good DI gun, but of course those you have to run “wet” (heavy lubed) due to the design. The piston driven, not so. Just a little “Slip 2000” around the bolt and you’re gtg. JM2CW. BTW, of course I like the Henry as I have shot them at the range. I am very fond of.22’s and own several. My two favorites are the Rem nylon-66 (Black Apache) and a Remington pump Mod 121 fieldmaster from the late 50’s. I take them to the range and shoot them for hours. Take care.

          • Don’t forget to look at the Ruger SR-556. Love mine, even if the trigger is a little heavy.

        • Mully–strange that I got stuck on that statement too–hey, remember Nov, 2009??? didn’t gun sales soar??? and haven’t slowed??

          • Exactly, JJ. No one was able to buy ammo in 2009 and the first half of 2010. Sold out everywhere in the country. If you wanted to buy a firearm you had to get in line with some deliveries 9 months out. As I said, “Trust no one”…I am thinking that the Freedom Group is potentially a problem. We all need to keep our eyes wide open on this one.

      20. Remington was long owned by DuPont, CCI by Olin.

I guess that’s not the case any more?

For me, the writing is on the wall when RUGER gets bought.

Got a lever-action, a revolver, and a bolt-action, all in .22. And a “ranch rifle” borrowed from a friend because after all, this is a ranch…… I really figure I’ve got all the guns I need. Oh, and a pellet rifle and a Red Ryder, everyone’s gotta have a Red Ryder!

I was really worried about this site last night. When this site, SurvivalBlog, and TickerForum are “disappeared”, the writing is REALLY on the wall.

        • I’ll bet Mac was up most of the night.

        • Did you forget that in the early 1990’s RUGER SOLD OUT GUN OWNERS?

Ruger provided their expertise to the gun banners to identify “assault weapons.” Their payoff was that the Mini-14 wasn’t banned—at first.

          • Yeah I remember that.

The Mini-14 should have been banned for being so inaccurate though!

            • ALC (or anyone)…what experiences have you had with the mini-14 being inaccurate? I got one for my husband, and he is not getting a very tight grouping with it…he is not a marksman, but his dad was a marksman in the marines in Nam, and he’s not getting a good shot grouping with it either.

          • I don’t think he understands.

            Geeeez. It aint that hard.

      23. A close frined of mine knows people at the top of the NRA and they say this is not true…
“…we ran it by the folks at NRA headquarters and it appears there is a lot of misinformation circulating that is not true.”

        Time will tell.

        • Since the late Neal Knox was sacked, the NRA has been gelded.

LaPierre has had a couple of cushy decades in his half-million-dollar-a-year job playing kiss-face with the same militarized cops that are tyrannizing and murdering us.

You probably already have Michael Hoffman bookmarked:

You might be interested in his lectures on usury and his recently released second edition of Judaism’s Strange Gods.

      24. If it is purely business then they will probably have the guns made in China and sold under the American name. Many guns are now reproduced in China and they have huge gun making facilities,China has said they made more SKS rifles then all the guns ever manufactured in the USA not sure if it is true. People will just have to know where the guns they buy are being made.

      25. Buy up to collapse the market or buy up to control the market ?
If you own it all then YOU set the prices for everything, so stand to make huge profits. Doesn’t that sound familiar…
When you can’t buy ammo, what will you do ?
What use is your conventional firearm then ?
Your US Constitution is like religion – it gets revised, chopped and changed to suit contemporary circumstances.
Believe in the parts you want, don’t believe in those you don’t.
Remove parts you don’t want, keep those you do.
You CAN’T trust it ! You can’t assume your 2nd amendment will guarantee you get to keep your guns.
You can’t trust anything or anyone any more !
That should be painfully obvious to everyone by now surely.
2012 will be the year it all goes down. Bets of luck – you’ll need it.

        • What he said…

      26. Sounds like somebody practicing sound business. Didn’t we just have an article about how many guns were sold over the big shopping weekend? It’s no surprise that a lot of people are buying guns these days, what kind of fool wouldn’t capitalize on this if able? It’s similar to the “sin funds”, those mutual funds that focus on alcohol distilleries/distributors, casinos/gambling interests, and tobacco companies – all those things considered semi-evil but that continue to be profitable even in bad economic times. And if this ownership is resulting in more design choices (ie. Remington offering a pistol) and a stronger industry (ie. “1.2 million long guns and 2.6 billion rounds of ammunition in the 12 months ended March 2010”), I say go ahead on.

      27. Gun Control….use both hands.

      28. I DO NOT trust a Company who’s name is associated with Hell and Satan. No good will come from this!

      29. 90 million gun owners hold the freedom of America in their hands. 90 million American Patriots can change this country without firing a shot.

        Organize, volunteer, donate, vote.

        (Pass it on.)

        • Vote? That is a fantasy “solution.”

          • @ John Q Public

Agreed! The soap box & ballot box solutions have been negated or compromised by the ruling oligarchy. We have one box option left!

            The ammo box!

          • @ John Q Public

Agreed! The soap box & ballot box solutions have been negated or compromised by the ruling oligarchy. We have one box option left!

            The ammo box!

      30. Cerberus: the mythical three-headed dog that guards the gates of Hell.

      31. Sound like they are doing something right. Walmart is selling Bushmaster AR-15 now.

      32. Guess they are trying to corner the market and raise prices. Every time I go to buy more ammo, the price has gone up!

      33. Arm yourselves America, and buy lots of ammo…

        oh ya, We already did.

        great for stocking stuffers too

        • Can’t remember a Christmas I didn’t get a box of Super-X Hollowpoints. …and remember all the breakfasts of fried squirrel, groundhog and rabbit they returned. Wow! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

          • Never considered eating groundhog, but since they are so available (even took one in my urban back yard with my 22 multi-pumper) I’m off to Google some recipes.
By the way, a good air gun will get you small game in any environment with little notice by neighbors or authorities, and ammo don’t get no cheaper!

      34. Best things you can do are:

Support your local Scouts/FFA/4-H youth shooting programs

Take people who are not gun owners but curious, to the range for a day of shooting, for free – yep, you foot the bill. My local range is $12 for the day, a *brick* of cheap ammo is $20 or so, and I have 2 rifles and a pistol, good training weapons. Even if I have to buy some targets there, we’re talking one big blow for gun-rights for $30. You can even train people on airguns to start, someone not familiar with guns at all can benefit a lot from starting out with an airgun.

Support the NRA, GOA, JPFO (Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership) NRA-ILA, etc.

Go and *clean up* those messy “public shooting areas” you all know where those are! Rampart Range in Colorado Springs, Los Angeles has a sort of canyon area north of town, every place has some public land, a junkyard, etc where people go and shoot informally, leaving all kinds of crap behind. They’re fun places but a black eye as far as public relations go. Put in some time cleaning ’em up, maybe put up some signs or flyers talking about biodegradable targets like soda crackers, necco wafers, animal crackers, fruit, veggies, or soda cans which someone *will* pick up for the aluminum.

      35. You’re absolutely daft and ignorant. Corporations, ecspecially investment firms, are only concerned with one thing – money. All the companies listed are based in the US. Guess what? All US companies are in the tank. It’s not some conspiracy, it’s profit. You don’t see Glock, Colt, Ruger, Taurus. Benelli or Beretta on that list, all of which are equally iconic as Remington. Stop stirring your right-wing propaganda pot.

      36. I would say someon in a high lace knows something about uturegun sales. You don’t buy a gun company to shut it down. You buy it to make a profit. The biggest gun buyer i the government.

Add in the fact that both china andrussia are getting ready for conlict with the US, I would say they are buring he companis cause there is gonna be a very big order coming from te government soon.

        • Actually, their business model DOES make a profit by shutting the businesses down. See my longer post below.

        • you say that you dont buy a gun company to shut it down, but thats exactly what freedom group did. i worked at bushmaster and it was a great place to work, until freedom group took over. no more fun, all corporate, and in the end they laid off everybody off

          • Thanks for giving us this information because many people would explain these buy-outs as just innocent corporate business.

      37. Most likely Israeli money buying up American gun and ammo makers. They bought up our airline security services in years prior to 9/11 then helped orchestrate the attack via ICTS (check bollyn.com). You and I don’t think like israelis but there is an agenda in play for sure. cerberus, scratch the surface.

      38. Upon looking at their website closely, I’ve got to say, it is a facade. Seems to me that someone is wanting to quell the 2nd Amendment spirit by buying out all these companies and then imploding them before the anti-gun groups attack. Looks like a coordinated but covert effort.

Keep arming up fellow Americans. I have a feeling we all will need it soon, too soon.

      39. Rachel: While these guys will definitely bid on a RFP as an approved contractor for DOD, the real market for new small arms sales is international.

Private “security companies” working for the CIA overseas will be the biggest buyer for these weapons…. without an RFP by the way.

If you plan on pursuing an “African Spring” and formenting “democratic revolutions” you will first need weapons that are not procured by and directly linked to the US government.

This would be done through offshore corporations owned by the CIA. Just saying.

      40. Something stinks! Free armed Americans are the largest army the world has ever seen. Gun control and confiscation are on the horizon. What better plan then to control the manufacturing of weapons prior to confiscation?

In 1910 seven private bankers met on Jekyll Island to plan the establishment of The Federal Reserve and how to present it as a benefit to Americans. It is not Federal, it has no reserves, it controls our monetary system and is directly responsible for the financial catastrophe we and the world face today.

The point being that we do not have access to closed door planning and the evil men behind it.

      41. Mac:
Sorry to hear you site was “hacked”.Might be some of Federal spooks who visit decided to test you cyber-defenses.They won,you lost, fortunately not completely. But you have been put on notice.Better forewarned and forearmed, than wishing you were.Getting as much of your hard tech “in-house” as soon aspossible might be a good thing.
        Just sayin’
        Best to All
        GFG

      42. This probably isn’t as sinister as some make it out to be, but it’s still bad for Americans. This is a classic conglomerate action that acquires older companies, strips the assets while claiming to be “consolidating for efficiency”. This happened to my industry (machine tools) in the 1970s and early ’80s. I have never entirely forgotten, nor will I. This, by the way, is the same racket that Mitt Romney was running with Bain Capital, which is why he’s now the favorite politician of the Vampire Squid gang, (Goldman Sachs). And it’s also what Daimler Benz did to Chrysler. Saw that close up before I finally “went Galt” in 2008. Why Cerberus ever bought Chrysler from DB still amazes me – the place had already been stripped bare. They HAD to be planning on making a profit on the bailout they knew they could arrange.

I mourn for Marlin, but the union and Conn. state regulation situation was going to put them under soon anyway. I’m no fan of Ruger, but I do hope they stay in business by fleeing New England.

        • This probably has some merit behind it..chances are in time , they will pull the classic conglomerate action.

until than anyone paying attention should get stocked up and learn how to reload and get the equipment to do so.

          TCB..for yourself.

        • Feds raid and SWAT amish for years, why should mormons be spared…(dark satire)
Seriously though, They are after citizens for choosing natural healthy foods like the devil , but after real criminals who steal billions they’re impotent to lift a finger

      43. Just a Thought, I had read somewhere, cant remember where, but that the ammo manufactures were adding an additive to the gunpowder that would render it inert after two years. Has anyone heard of this. I do remember during Police, State qualifications, shotgun shells that would not fire, a brown liquid would spit out of the end of the barrel. Share this if you know please?

      44. question is who are they? who owns that company? dig deeper do the due diligence and stop the speculation..some say bushes are behind the three headed dog??

      45. Any way you look at this, it isn’t a good thing. I am going to apply for a purchasers permit and buy a gun as soon as I can, along with ammo. This just doesn’t look good to me.

        • Where do you live that you need a “purchaser’s permit?”

      46. Could it be about forming a patent cartel? You have get a government sanctioned monopoly on ‘intellectual property’ and THAT means you control supply. Who is your most lucrative customer? The people who bestow your IP ‘rights’, the government and those who own the government. It’s backdoor nationalization. Money follows power and power excludes competition, hence the IP rent-extractors rule. Guns for the state, Shinola for the people.

      47. My computer protection detected an attempted intrusion yesterday night as well. After ensuring my network was completely secured, I traced the attempted intrusion back to Germany.

I’m not sure if the attack actually came from Germany since once you hack into someone else’s network you can do all kinds of things and it looks like they did it, not you. Anyone else have this happen?

      48. If there was something sinister about it, They wouldn’t have pursued Walmart as a new customer. Walmart is now selling the BUSHMASTER PATROLMAN A3 CARBINE. That sure doesn’t sound like they are trying to keep guns away from the public more like good business. Probably will help coordinate facilities much better, Remington now makes an ar-15 (r-15 VTR) by using several parts and barrels from Bushmaster. Also Bushmaster, Remington and Magpul worked together to develop the Adaptive Combat Rifle (ACR).

      49. AMERICA PLEASE WAKE UP!!!!..The international bankgsters has a big plan set up already, disarm the American people. This corporation name’s: CERBERUS says all..”guardian of hell”.These people are anything else, but stupid. They use words and symbols that most people don’t pay attention, and
they know that the best way to do this is through the media,tv programs, hollywood, sports etc.Keep the American people entertained, while the snakes like George Soros are preparing the knives.May the HOLY GHOST SAVE USA !!!!!

      50. bob chapman who writes the international forcaster wrote about this several months ago. it traces back to soros.

      51. Sounds like a monopoly to me. Isn’t that illegal.

      52. first off, y ou better vote Obumass out, if you can.
Broadcasters always say,why is he doing this or that?
Don’t you nerds know that he was put in office(illegally)
to ruin this country financially. Wake up and smell the
crap O is duping you with. Watch the illegal voting
machines vote him back in. ta ta

      53. I believe I read that Soros was an investor in Cerberus.

      54. Concentration of the wealth into fewer and fewer hands will eventually lead to higher and higher prices for those of us who believe we are in the middle class. Actually we are now the peons in this country as the actual middle has all but disappeared.

When the supremes supported the right wing and eliminated the requirement for disclosure of the identity of those paying for political ads pretty much put the frosting on the cake. They no longer have to take responsibility for their actions. Of course they have been hiding behind phoney organizations for years but now they don’t even have to make the pretense of making known who they support.

What does this have to do with gun and ammo? It won’t take long before the prices will increase and it will cost us more and more to shoot and the price of weapons will increase. Face the fact that various branches of the govt are the biggest buyers of guns and ammunition. Whether it be the local police force, the border patrol or the army they will pay whatever price they need to have the ammunition to support their mission.

When the shortages happen or the prices increase we will never know the reason why. It will be blamed on Obama, the Liberals, or the liberal media the whipping boys of the right. They don’t and never will take responsibility for their actions.

      55. You folks obviously do not understand the firearms business at this level. I’ve been in the business for over 30 years and have worked for several maufacturers. The firearms industry on a world or even just the national scale is not monetarily very big. By combining several major manufacturers and backing them with money from other industries, this brings some real strength to
to our fight to keep our Second Amendment Rights. I’ve had the pleasure to meet some of the Cerberus top folks and I can tell you they are hard charging, hunting, fishing, outdoors, Second Amendment believing folks.

Copout, as for your statement about brown liquid coming out of your shotgun shells. I think it was the same BS flowing past your lips.

        • Michael, thank you for sharing your direct knowledge.

        • Michael, I know where you’re coming from, because the whole situation looks like the machine tool industry I was in back on the 1970s and 1980s. It’s also a very small industry, dollar-volume-wise. What I’m reading about the mismanagement of the Marlin transfer to Remington doesn’t give me much hope. The incompetence being reported looks so very much like what went on at Bridgeport after Textron bought them out. Getting good engineers and production managers to work for a company dominated by financial people is difficult at best. Been there, seen that, burned the T-shirt in disgust.

      56. The Cerberus/Soros connection is false according to Snopes.com:

        • Snopes only discredits the reports that George Soros is behind Cerberus…it does not give any other information as to the intent of this corporation.
Unfortunately I’m a suspicious character by nature and don’t put a lot of stock in what Snopes reports….can’t they be deceived too? Sometimes it’s difficult to know who is speaking the truth.

“You will know them by their fruits.” Meaning of course actions speak louder than words regarding most anything.
Again unfortunately, we will not know the truth until their actions demonstrate what their intentions are, so the only alternative is to stay vigilant and sound the alarm if and when it’s needed.

      57. This is a prelude to a NWO takeover of the 2nd Amendment.

      58. Sayldog listed, from cerebrusmanagement.com the principals of the company. Ask.com/WikiAnswers asks the question: Who are Cerebrus Capital Management Owners? Answer: George Soros. Now, I don’t know anything about Ask.com/WikiAnswers so I can’t comment on whether or not the answer is correct. However, if George does own or has a large interest in Cerebrus, then it should be obvious what the long range plans of the company will probably be.

      59. This from What a name for a company. This should alert to the philosophy of folks one is dealing with in this company as well as goals Re the gun manufacturers, esp. if George Soros owns it or is a backer. I guess we will see what happens.

Sorry, I misspelled Cerberus in my pevious post.

KERBEROS (or Cerberus) was the gigantic hound which guarded the gates of Haides. He was posted to prevent ghosts of the dead from leaving the underworld. Kerberos was described as a three-headed dog with a serpent’s tail, a mane of snakes, and a lion’s claws. Some say he had fifty heads, though this number might have included the heads of his serpentine mane.

Herakles was sent to fetch Kerberos forth from the underworld as one of his twelve labours, a task which he accomplished through the grace of Persephone.

HAIDES (Aides, Aidoneus, or Hades) was the King of the Underworld, the god of death and the dead. He presided over funeral rites and defended the right of the dead to due burial. Haides was also the god of the hidden wealth of the earth, from the fertile soil with nourished the seed-grain, to the mined wealth of gold, silver and other metals.

      60. You have to wonder also why the government doesn’t step in to prevent a monopoly in the manufacture of arms. Any other industry, and you can bet the government would have its nose in the acquisition.

Also, Cerberus acquired 51% of GMAC when GM went bankrupt. The US government has put more than $16 billion into GMAC via TARP. It makes you wonder who really owns the gun manufacturers, doesn’t it?

It’s just another piece in the puzzle, which is becoming more and more evident with each passing day.

        • I will add that GMAC, at the time, was the ONLY profitable division of General Motors. But GM had to sell it to raise capital to keep the UAW in beer and sushi.

      61. BLACKWATER, BLACKWATER, BLACKWATER.

      62. Ah stuff it. I’m going to state this outright, right here, right now.

      63. J. Danforth Quayle – Chairman, Cerberus Global Investments, LLC

        …Our old friend Dan Quayle!

      64. The so called “US-Americans” (only the native Americans are real Americans all the others are invaders that are occupying America) got the first and the second amendment to use it if a tyrannical government take place so you can wipe it out. But right now you clearly have a tyrannical government but obviously you do not use your freedom of speech and your guns to wipe the totally evil and tyrannical government out. So, then what is the advantage of having guns? You have no justified right anymore to have guns. The USraelies are using their weapons (and used them from the beginnig) just to turture, kill and destroy whatever is good and holy. Now you are even get prepared to slaughter Iranian children by following your JEWISH masters of death and destruction. And you are doing everything to create World War III by provocating Iran like cracy. The US is based by the Holocaust on the real Americans, the Nativ Americans, the US is build up by the slaves and the US is running nowedays by sadistic, power-addicted Jewish mass murderers and their followers.
No, to stop you destroying the earth, the nature and the human race we, the good and peaceful people in the world, need to completely disarm all the USraelis! The USraelis never should have any kind of weapons again, because obviously you are using all your weapons only to support cruelty, murder and any kind of evil actions. Shame on you, occupiers of America and destroyers of the world!!!

        • @ German Justice…..I hate to remind you, but there was a huge influx of German citizens along with other Europeans who settled in this country over two hundred years ago. You need to read your history and know the facts before you make accusations. Germany has a sordid history because of its mass murders of millions of Jews of every age…..that includes babies too. So please spare us the rhetoric about America’s supposed evil character at its inception. America was settled by thousands of Europeans, not just the British. Please get your facts straight before making ridiculous statements.
America had Judeo Christianity as its foundation and that’s what we need to get back to….period!!!

          • I do not care about your version of “history”. The fact is, that USraelis used to blame Germans for decades for the so called “war crimes” – the war crimes you are commiting in the reallity each day without paying any kind of compansation that we, the Germans, still do even if we did not kill anybody.
(I never killed a human beeing and not even a mass murderer JEW, but the always tricking Jews did ruin my whole life without any reason, just because I was friendly and helpful to them in the past. I know it is a big mistake to serve JEWS well because they will hit you into the face as their version of thank you for doing so. This is why we, the Germans, want the JEWISH IMMIGRANTS to leave our country because otherwise they will do to us, the Native Germans, the same what you did to the Native Americans. The JEWs do not belong to us, move out of Germany and leave us alone!)
You are blaming the Iranians to develop Atomic bombs and you are using it as an excuse to kill Iranian children. But what is with bombs in the US and the Atomic bombs in Israhell. What is if we would invade you because of your Atomic bombs? You are making war to overpower other nations all the time, Iran does not attack anybody! You are guilty of the most terrible war-crimes ever made. Period.
You must get completely disarmed, and you deserve to get blamed for decades and get forced to pay endless compensations, instead of us, the Germans.
And I will tell you something. My vision will come truth. Your power-game-time is over. It does not matter if you want to realize it or not. And almost the whole world hates USrael. Do you have any idea what will happen to you after the completely brake down of USrael? I guess you can not imagine this. And your shitty lying propaganda against Germans and Persions will not work anymore, because the world is awakening and get to know who is behind all the lying propaganda and the wars and mass murder and who wants to enslave everybody.
I predicted the downfall of the US many years ago, and the arrogant and ignorant USraelis did just laugh at me. I guess the 40 Million people on food stamps now stoped laughing at me in the meantime… 🙂 And the rest will stop laughing very soon too!!!
And I am sure you and your Jewish companions will have a terrible awakening too – very soon. If you continue like you do the real Holocaust on the USraelis might happen very soon, but not made by Germans and not made by me to make this clear! Do not think that you can win a war if Russia gets involved! The Austrian Zionist-promoted president of Germany (paid by the American Zionists) Mr. Adolf Hitler, made already this mistake by the way and Napoleon made this mistake too. USrael with all this weapons was not even able to win against third world countries like Vietnam and Afganistan, and now you want to go into a war against Iran and his aliens China and Russia. This is just insanity!
I know the Jews are very tricky and this worked very well in the past, they could create wars like crazy, make big profit out of it, and then blame others for it. But this won’t work anymore because the people are wakening up, and besides of this some devine materializations might happen soon. Then your bloodthirsty power-game is over. Finally.
Enjoy your downfall. Have fun my dear! 🙂
And do not forget to visit the great website http://www.wake-up-america.net!

            • Sig Heil – you idiot POS sore loser.
We kicked your asses twice and you still are whining about the Jews – just because they are smarter than you (but then who isn’t). Super race my a$$..Greatest accomplishments: killing defenseless men, women & children. We will do to the Iranians, who think the Nazi way is their guidepost, the same thing we did to you. BTW – how’s the 3rd Reich working out for you ? Morons.
Not real proud of some of my German ancestry – would rather be an Israeli today. They know how to fight as they have kicked the crap out of all your Nazi loving towelheads every time they are attacked. I sure understand why you would want us disarmed but we would still kick your a$$.

            • NUTS! I know a few native Germans here in the USA. Fortunately, they are thought, kind and smart folks. Once the US taxpayers figure out that protecting Germany is no longer cost effective and our troops come home, you can face Putin’s tanks by yourselves. I guess the loosers in this world will always need a scapegoat to blame for their own failings.

            • Hi Anonymous,
I guess you did not really realize yet that you are the loosers. Whoever laughtes last laughes the best. 🙂
And yes, Germany will come to our side, because they are tired about the evil games of their American/Israeli occupiers.

            • @anonymous: The USraelies loosing their houses, living in camps and on food stamps, they are hated everywhere in the world and think they are the winners? How insane are they? They are just violent and angry and insane and obvioulsy out of any kind of compassion towards anyone – a very dangerous combination and a big thread against all the real human beings. Disarm them now! But their beloved government has already build up the concentrations camps ähhh I mean Fema Camps for them. Enjoy your journey there!

            • It was I big mistake that Germans did emigrate into the US. They have build up the country and made it strong. Now the Jews are taking over and abusing it for all their mass murder. Germans get out of the US! Let them fall down!!!

            • Hi German Justice,
you made the mistake to serve the Jews and they have ruined your live in return by cheating you, right? I am not surprised about it, and you just have to learn your lesson. Obviously you do not understand the Jewish character. The Jews are programmed like a computer to cheat, to destroy and to betray. Nobody can change it, this is how they are programmed and this is why no honest and trustworthy people likes them, this is why they got persecuted in almost every country they have lived in and became dominant. Criminals are becoming dominant if you serve them, this is just how it is.
German Justice, it seems that you have paid a hight price to learn this lesson and to understand the Jewish mentality, and we thank you for sharing this experience with us. I am sure, manny people especially in the US can learn something from it.
Also I want you to know that not all the people in the US are stupid Jews servants. We have a strong resistance movement against them controlling and enslaving us, like you had in Germany.
Also I want to make clear, that real Christianity has nothing to do with Judaism/Zionism – it is even the opposite of this. Real Christians are inspired by the holy Spirit and not by the false “God” of the Jews that is in reality just a Demon. This is why the catholic church did persecute the Jews in the past. It was necessary to protect the Christians from the demons, the Jews are worshipping.
The Jews are coming into a county, taking out everything, leaving the Natives behind robbed and cheated and then they go into the next country to do the same fraud. They did it with Germany and now they are doing it especially with the US. It was our mistake to let them in. Now we are in a big crisis and hopefully many of us will learn their lessons from it: Never cooperate with the Jews! They will just break your neck in return.
And by the way, thank you for letting us know the website http://www.wake-up-america.net!

            • JESUS CHRIST, speaking to the Jews in the Gospel of St. John, VIII:44: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is not truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh from his own resources: for he is a liar and the father of it.” ——-then answered the Jews – ”

      65. Come On someone do a little homework. The guy who runs this company is major republican donor. Before jumping to stupid conclusion do some checking on your own about the people behind these companies and how they operate. Theauthor of this article sure acts like a hack trying to grab headlines. Bad journalism.

      66. Yet another reason to hone your gunsmith skills and firearms knowledge….. If it comes to the point where a monopoly should limit supply and manufacture, it becomes essential to have the ability to “build your own”. Plus its a great skill to promote bonding with and pass along to younger generations who have acquired the attitude of firearm ownership and proficiency is attained by “checkin out the Academy sales ad in the Sunday newspaper sales circular”. Simply put; Why leave it up to a megacorp to supply YOUR personal protection tools when its simply a more fulfilling experience to provide your own?

      67. Also IMHO, this move should it turn out to be a CorpGov move to corner and choke off the market, would be a.God send for smaller state and regional manufacturers who already enjoy a strong loyalty base and often provide a generally higher quality and more tactical customization friendly products.

      68. I’ve had a few dealings with Cerberus and they certainly smell $$$ here. The bigger concern is if they workign on behalf of the government to help control the sale of guns.

Certainly no one can say that their board is for or against the 2nd amendment.

      69. Need to tell you guys that the only reason a company would buy out gun manufactures is to shut them down.. But my sources which are good. Say that it will continue to run even if someone ends up stealing the machines..Then sold in black market to continue to keep Americans armed.

just be aware that’s whats going to happen. Because theirs no reason for a big company to buy out gun manufactures unless they had other plans which are never good.

      70. This is, in all probability, good old American Capitalism.(Dan Quayle being involved only adds credibility to that assertion.
However, American gun companies have never been especially on the side of citizens or at the forefront of our right to keep and bear arms.
Remember, Sturm Ruger was all for banning high cap magazines. Remington & Winchester supported the corrupt anti-gun National Fish & Wildlife Service ban on lead shot because everyone would have to buy a new shotgun.
Several manufacturers were all for banning “black military assault rifles” because they didn’t make an “AR Clone” and wanted you to have to buy their “traditional” style hunting rifle.
For all it’s warts, the NRA and like organizations are our only defence. Period.

      71. It’s a bs email story and even if it was real, other companies will emerge. There’s 230 million guns, not 3 for everyone, but a millian guns each for the few with balls enough to actually put up a fight over the 2nd Amendment. If even that few do the right things, Big Bro can be destroyed.

      72. After doing a little research, I have fewer misgivings about this “Freedom Group, Incorporated”.

The predecessor to FGI was actually American Heritage Arms — the offshoot started by the crew at Remington on a wing and a prayer in 2006 to try to get out from under a crapper-load of debt that Remington had gotten itself into. Their first acquisition was Bushmaster in that same year, while still named American Heritage Arms.

In 2007, they changed the name of the corporation to FGI around the same time they acquired Remington; shortly after that, they acquired DPMS. Marlin & Dakota Arms followed in 2008, with S & K and AAC following in 2009.

Cerberus Capital is full of “well known” gun advocates & hunters — remember Dan Quayle? He is the Chairman of their Global Investments arm (Cerberus Global Investments, LLC). Stephen A. Feinberg, their Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Senior Managing Director, is an avid hunter (he has a BIG elk on his office wall that he actually shot); William L. Richter — who is involved in companies like Rent-A-Wreck — is more of a mystery. But this company is, or has been, associated with the likes of Dan Quayle, Donald Rumsfeld, john Snow and others — top talent for getting in on slices of the big pie.

I won’t say “mystery solved”, since this company also does divestitures an corporate raiding — but I do feel a little bit better. They are just the money men behind the scenes — it seems like the “good old boys” from Remington are still running the show.

      73. Remember #1 thing learn how to build a firearm. Buy a couple of 45s and a.12ga.for home & village defense.Keep the Demos out of office. Maybe stop wasteing time watching stupid non-reality shows(of course we are probably not doing that).Main thing vote those anti-gun butt wads out of any office

        • Good list; one more thing. Personally observe the voting process, at the precinct sites, at the gathering places, and at the vote-counting site. Ask questions about verifying totals. Make sure the programmers who have inserted vote-flipping subroutines and other Republic-destroying subterfuge are ratted out and hanged for treason.

      74. in our small town of benson az our postmaster is collecting names, addresses, and phone numbers of anyone recieving lead, bullets, or other shooting related materials in the mail. i have been told after this happened to me personaly it was his personal proaugative to do so

      75. What’s the obsession with owning firearms? No wonder the world hates America. Get over yourselves. Oh and God isn’t going to save America cause A. He doesn’t exist and B. If he did, he’s not that much of an idiot.

      76. Theodore Torneck is a higher up @ G.E. General Electric And they work hand & hand with the government! Something is fishy!

      77. Worst case, the existing companies are merged, then closed.
        Boo hoo.

I will then put out the prospectus for two new companies – maybe three, or more.

The Canadian Small Arms Import/Export Company – in Windsor.

The Mexican Small Arms Import/Export Company – in Tijuana.

The Bahamas Small Arms Import/Export Company, etc. etc.

No need for manufacturing facilities- but also, no reason
        why not.

      78. Snopes debunks the rumor. Well worth reading!
