“I Fear For What’s Coming” – 68 Percent Of Americans Believe The Country Is On The Wrong Track

Do you LOVE America?

Family-Photo-by-Eric-Ward-300x300Are you deeply concerned about the future of America?  Is something in your gut telling you that our system is fundamentally broken and that the mainstream media is not telling you the truth about what is happening?  If so, you are definitely not alone.  Right now, there are millions upon millions of Americans that are absolutely horrified as they watch this nation deteriorate.  In fact, according to an analysis of recent polling data conducted by Real Clear Politics, approximately 68 percent of all Americans believe that the country is on the wrong track and only 23.5 percent of all Americans believe that the country is on the right track.  And of course our problems did not appear just recently.  In fact, many of them are the result of decades of very foolish decisions and they are not going to be fixed easily.  Unfortunately, there is very little consensus among Americans about how to fix any of our problems.  There is more anger, frustration, hatred and division in the United States today than there has been in decades, and there is very little hope that the great storms that are looming on the horizon will be averted.  Those that are wise are preparing for what is coming.  Those that are not are going to be absolutely blindsided by what is rapidly approaching.

Once upon a time, America was the wealthiest nation on the entire globe by a huge margin and it had the largest and most thriving middle class the world had ever seen.  But now America is drowning in the biggest ocean of red ink in the history of the planet and the middle class is being systematically destroyed.

If you read my articles on a regular basis, you already know all of this.  But now there are certain factors that are going to cause the problems of the middle class to greatly accelerate.

For instance, just consider what Obamacare is going to do to millions of American families.

The Foundry recently posted a story that detailed the extreme hardship that Obamacare is going to impose on one middle class family in Sonora, California.  This particular family is very healthy and does not have a history of health problems.  Up until now, they have had a health insurance policy with Anthem Blue Cross Insurance that they have been very happy with.

Back in 2011, this family was paying $389 a month for health insurance.

In 2012, due to changes in California law that figure went up to $499 a month.

Now, this family has just received a letter informing them that their current plan is being canceled and that if they want a new plan it is going to cost them $1,252 a month.

Needless to say, that news did not go over very well with that family.

    Just think about it.

Can you come up with an extra $753 a month for health insurance?

    Most American families certainly cannot.

Well, Kate Joy and her husband sat down and started trying to figure out how they could squeeze the new health insurance policy into their budget.  It turned out that they would have to cut out a lot of things.  The following is a list of the proposed cuts that they have come up withso far

    • Stop paying the extra payment on my mortgage: $100/month
    • Stop eating out: $150/month
    • Don’t go to the movies: $36/month
    • Switch to getting a haircut every other month: $15/month
    • Stop getting manicures: $40/month
    • Stop monthly charitable donations to Wounded Warrior and Habitat for Humanity: $70/month
    • Stop saving for an annual anniversary getaway: $60/month
    • No Christmas gifts to extended family: $40/month
    • Quit buying beef at the grocery store: $100/month
    • Teeth cleaning only once per year: $30/month
    • Cancel all magazine/newspaper subscriptions: at least $30/month
    • Cut DISH service to cheaper plan: $50/month
    • Cancel land line phone service: $70/month

If they make all of those cuts, it will save the family $791 a month.

Understandably, that family is having a very hard time feeling optimistic about the future right now.  In fact, at the end of the article Kate Joy is quoted as saying the following…

    “I fear for what’s coming.”

And of course her family is not the only one that is being absolutely hammered by Obamacare.

In a previous article, I discussed the results of one study which showed that health insurance premiums for men are going to go up by an average of 99 percent under Obamacare and health insurance premiums for women are going to go up by an average of 62 percentunder Obamacare.

And a different study found that health insurance premiums for healthy 30-year-old men are going to go up by an average of 260 percentunder Obamacare.

All of this is going to suck a tremendous amount of “discretionary income” out of the economy.

In addition, millions upon millions of Americans are going to make the choice to go without health insurance altogether.  And considering the level of care that we get in many of these hospitals that is understandable.  For example, the body of 57-year-old Lynne Spalding was recently discovered in a stairwell at San Francisco General Hospital 17 days after she had disappeared from her hospital room.

Those that provide our “health care” don’t care about us as much as they did in the old days.  Instead, the health care industry just wants to get as much money out of us as rapidly as they can and then move on to the next victim.

And of course health care is not the only thing that middle class families have to be concerned about these days.  Our national employment crisis is getting even worse, incomes are shrinking, and Obama is pushing Congress to approve a secret treaty that will ship millions more of our jobs out of the country.

And there are certainly a lot of troubling economic signs as we head toward 2014.  Just consider the following examples…

-Pending home sales in the United States have fallen for five months in a row.

-Machinery giant Caterpillar is reporting negative retail sales growthin every region on the globe.  Historically, the sales growth of Caterpillar has been one of the most important indications of where the economy is headed next.

-Major banks are warning the Federal Reserve that they may have tostart charging depositors a fee.  In other words, you may soon have to pay for the “privilege” of putting your money in the bank.

Of course this is just the beginning.  Things are going to get much, much worse in the years ahead as our economy continues to deteriorate.

And as things continue to fall apart, people are going to become a lot more desperate.  To get an idea of what is coming to America, just look at what is happening in Greece.  Some poor people in Greece have become so desperate that they are literally infecting themselves with HIV just so that they can get monthly government payments…

Suicides rose by 17% between 2007 and 2009 and to 25% in 2010, according to unofficial 2010 data (398).The Minister of Health reported a further 40% rise in the first half of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010. Suicide attempts have also increased, particularly among people reporting economic distress (610). Homicide and theft rates have doubled. HIV rates and heroin use have risen significantly, with about half of new HIV infections being self-inflicted to enable people to receive benefits of €700 per month and faster admission on to drug-substitution programmes. Prostitution has also risen, probably as a response to economic hardship. Health care access has declined as hospital budgets have been cut by about 40% (398) and it is estimated that 26 000 public health workers (9100 doctors) will lose their jobs (611). Further cuts are expected as a result of recent negotiations with the IMF and European Central Bank.

If you doubt this, you can find the original report with these findingsright here.

A lot of people accuse me of being a “doom and gloomer” for writing articles like this.

A lot of people accuse me of trying to spread worry and fear.

But I do not see it that way at all.

I was recently asked what the number one issue is that has me so worried that it keeps me up at night.

Do you know what my answer was?

    “Nothing.”

Nothing that I write about keeps me up at night.

I am not worried about what is coming and I do not believe in giving in to fear.

Rather, I believe that there is hope in understanding what is happening, and I believe that there is hope in getting prepared.

Do you want to know who is going to be totally giving in to worry, fear and despair in the years ahead?

The people that are not getting prepared right now.

Do you want to know who is going to be jumping off the top of tall buildings in the years ahead?

The people that are laughing at articles like this one.

For most adults in America, they primarily define their lives by their jobs, their material possessions and by all of the toys that they have accumulated.  When those things get taken away, we are going to see a national hissy fit that is absolutely unprecedented.

The Republicans are not going to save us from the storm that is coming and neither are the Democrats.

    It is coming.

That is why I am urging people to get prepared on an individual basis, a family basis and a community basis.

If you prepare yourself and your family now, you will have a much better chance of surviving the coming storm.  And you will be in much better position to help those that will need your assistance.

If you think back throughout history, most of those that we consider to be the greatest “heroes” emerged during times of great crisis.

Well, another time of great crisis is coming, and this will be a tremendous opportunity for a new generation of heroes to arise.

So do not cower in fear because of what is coming.  Rather, use this time to get prepared for the greatest challenges and the greatest opportunities that you have ever known.

When things are the darkest, that is when the light is needed the most.

Choose to be a light.  America will soon need you greatly.

            • I don’t mean to say that republicans

and democrats are all the same, BUT…..

I did see a donkey mating with an

elephant on late-night CNN last evening

              • Behold, the purple donkephant! 😀

                • Everything is fine!!! Everything is great!! Don’t worry, Be happy!! Time to start digging……..:(

                  • Bad times and bad public opinion are perfect recipes for a huge war. History repeats itself over and over again. I know this sounds like doom and gloom, but it is like these precursors to major earthquakes, the same situations in the past have occurred and war follows.

It is very frightening to think of hundreds of missiles in the air and mushroom clouds all over the planet. This is what war is about. People fight and they use what weapons they have to win. It is something that we likely will have to face and why I so much recommend to everyone to learn as much as possible about fallout. I would recommend this also to people that live down wind from nuclear power plants around the New Madrid fault. Fukushima can happen in many different places around the world. War is hundreds of Fukushimas if they target nuke power plants. We need to be ready for war, it is a reality that is more likely than anytime in history.

                  • Been reading Eric Hoffer’s “The True Believer” again. He points out that the “old poor” are not revolutionaries. It’s the “Newly Poor”, who are pissed off at having been shoved into the gutter, that make revolutions. Seems we may get to see if old Eric was right, if Obama’s destruction of health care continues any farther.

BTW this book is 60+ years old and yet reads like prophecy on almost every page. Not only lessons about what is happening to us, but also lessons on how to rouse the sheeple to turn it all around.

                  • Time for communities to separate from the federal system. In fact, past time!

                • Of those 68%, 100% are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN the country is on the wrong path.

The problem is, only 1% of those can rightly identify the problem, which is the source and control of money, and of those, 100% have no idea how they can fix the problem.

Collapse and cleanse is probably the only solution. Only when the banksters money is worthless will they be powerless.

Then a window will open briefly. Hopefully the fresh breeze of freedom will flow through and awaken the masses to the need for a revolution so we have sufficient numbers to protect freedom for the world.

                  • There is a solution to this problem, standupamericaus.org

                  • This is absolutely right. 50% think things are not liberal or progressive enough and 50% think that things should be more conservative or traditional. This gets us right back to the same shitty spot we started at. No it will come to blows eventually. Natural laws will take over and shit that makes sense will eventually prevail (because this is what naturally takes place by definition). Example: A man commits child molestation and puts it on video. He pleads not guilty. We spend hundreds of thousands to try, incarcerate, and rehabilitate. He is out in 8 years and repeats. We all know a 50 cent bullet could have been used within the first 30 days of the arrest. There will come a point that common sense becomes common again. It will be ugly getting to that point, however.

                  • If the 68% of the people that feel we are on the wrong track, marched on Washington,DC we wouldn’t be in this mess.

We are 95% of the way towards CWII….

                  • There is a solution. Get out of the federal system; ignore Washington, D.C.

              • OutWest, donkeys and elephants have been “doing it” forever. I thought you knew. [pun intended]

                • Well shucks, braveheart, you must excuse me

I just fell off the turnip truck…..

I did find it rather humorous though,

watching Wolf Blitzer trying to throw

a bucket of cold water on them because

he thought it might be bad for ratings

                  • OutWest, imagine how different things could be if we could separate the donkeys from the elephants.

              • Just one word on that visual Outwest, just one……..
                EEEEEWWWWUUUUUU!!!! 🙂

            • Good going FB, you’re #1, #2 and #3. Wow.

I can’t cut any of the things that the family in the article has to cut.
              I don’t have cable
              I cut my own hair
              We don’t go to movies
              We don’t do manicure
We have the cheapest cell phone plan that we can get
I have to have a land line for business
We rarely go out to eat
Charity is local face to face and it’s things we grew and canned or raised.

We live frugal and are getting better at it.

For the 68% that think this country is on the wrong course, each one has a different opinion why and a different opinion on how to fix it and a different idea on what to do with their own life to ready for this countries decline. That makes the 32% more powerful, they’re united in their ideology and will fight to keep it going in their favored direction.

              • I used to drive over to Sonora every weekend to shop. You would be surprised how many pony tailed Obamabots there is in that town. The Majority of them voted for this, now eat it.

                • I thought obamacare was a good idea, until I found out I was paying for it…”

                  • well the plantation democrats just want too spread the wealth around

the family mentioned in the story will just have too cut out there BS manicures fancy haircuts and such. and live like the rest of us

i wish i could get my hair cut every month i have too go 3 to 4 months between haircuts

the plantation dems just want the poor welfare kids too finally have health care

                  • It seems we face challenges on multiple fronts – economic, increasing numbers of earthquakes and extreme weather conditions, and ‘superbugs’.

Whenever possible, we should try to keep ourselves healthy and use natural methods (herbs, plants, etc.) for healing.

Risk of superbugs skyrockets as world enters ‘post-antibiotic era’.

Farm animals – breeding ground for antibiotic resistant bacteria
“Over 80% of all antibiotics are now used on farm animals.”
Meat from those animals later ends up in the market.

                • Seattle just elected a Socialist to the City Council. Hasn’t even taken office yet, she is squawking about the Boeing Company, and how it needs to be turned over to the workers, who she says are the real owners.

That and a $15 dollar minimum wage, free health care, guaranteed annual income for the homeless, an income tax in Seattle, confiscation of all firearms, etc., etc.

I give this idiot about 90 days before the recall petitions come out.

              • Mike is right. It’s a great time to be alive. Opportunities are EVERYWHERE:

Organize, communicate, volunteer, donate, and vote. Let your Barnhardt out. Be vocal, be loud, be unrelenting in your demand for FREEDOM. Take the initiative. Go to your Rep’s town hall meeting. Give them an earful. Believe me they are listening and they are fearful.

They want a “new order”? Give them a new order. Most of these assholes have been in office forever. Time to turn them out. Start with the asshole that represents you!

Create a Freedom Cell where you live. Enlist your family friends and neighbors. Many will follow you lead. Strike the match and watch Freedom burn in the heart of your city.

Engage the enemy and settle for nothing less than your Constitutional rights. 🙂

        • Our country is fucked and there is no stopping it. We must concentrate on surviving the collapse and making some kind of decent future for our children and ourselves.

          • I totally agree. We are on trac for economic collapse and World War III! We should all be ready to take care of ourselves.

          • Best thing we can do is share the Gospel and make sure our children and family and friends have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.

These sure look like the end times.

        • Awesome job at being first!

      2. Here in the Northeast, (I’m in Pittsburgh) we are getting 3″ to 6″ of snow. Yesterday I noticed a curious thing. The little grocery store I stop at in the mornings before work was packed with people shopping. It is never that way, usually just the venders restocking bread, chips etc. I asked the girl behind the customer service desk if it was holiday shopping or storm shopping and she said storm. These people that I never see there had carts filled with soda pop, chips, donuts and crap food in general. Of course the usual bread and milk was selling out but the carts of junk food was incredible to witness. People are not prepared to take care of themselves at all unless there was a sudden craving for candy and baked goods. I was astounded. There was water still on the shelf and matches and canned goods. If it was a true emergency these people were only screwing themselves.

        • Yep, when the emergencies hit, its time to make french toast and SH1T.

If you’re wondering what the heck I’m talking about, I wonder myself. But just look at what’s in peoples carts during emergencies: Milk, eggs, bread, and toilet paper.

        • 3″-6″ and people panic? Out west where we live the only time 6″ of snow makes the news is if it is in July. 😉

          • Hell shootit , pittsburgh is in the south…..LOL

            • Hammer there might be something to that Global warming theory, in the 70’s we would get big snow, as time goes on the snow Decrease to were we dont get much of a winter.

          • When we get just ONE inch of snow in Memphis, most people here panic.

            • @ BH. I lived outside of Nashville for a year. If it even flurried the people panic. And if it called for flurries, the kids didn’t have school!

              • Braveheart, same way here in knoxville. Stores packed for 3″ tops.

                • Hi, marine, waving at you from about 10 miles away! Yep, it’s crazy around here if they say its gonna snow…I heard umpteen reports of wrecks on the roads today on i40 and other big roads….

              • Jbird, the people here have the same mindset.

            • BRAVE- say HI to Elvis for me 🙂
The greatest entertianer ever to set foot on a stage.

              • Hammerhead, I’ll shoot him an email. No telling where he’a at this days. the entire neighborhood around Graceland has gone to crap. When I was a kid it was one of the best parts of the city. But not now, not by a longshot.

              • Sorry, the greatest entertainer was Liberace! There are thousands of Elvis imitators who sound just like him but NOT ONE Liberace imitator as NO ONE can match his skill on the piano. He was the HIGHEST paid entertainer for many years.

                • Along with tickling the ivories he was also known for playing the slobber blues on the ‘ol meat-whistle

                  • I thought he was a pitcher, not a catcher…

                  • He was a member of that ‘alternative lifestyle’ community.

                  • sixpack, pitchin’ or catchin’ doesn’t matter, its still playin’ baseball.

          • Here in western Washington state, just one inch of our wet crud snow is enough to cause total chaos.

        • Npgh,

I guess most did not learn any lessons from Hurricane Sandy. Normalcy Bias is a powerful metal state to overcome. Even staring at a deadly new storm that has already claimed 8 lives in the South, the idea that “it won’t be that bad here” still has an iron grip on peoples’ psyche. Hopefully a few learned the lesson and took steps to prepare.

          Good Luck up there Npgh.

          • Some shoppers may have been like my husband, also close to pittsburgh. We are so prepared but he wanted some comfort foods!!! He bought chips, pop, and a lemon cake!! Being prepared doesn’t mean you can’t buy yummies!!!!

            • Gotta have enough to make it through all those Thursday football games.

              • Just figured out we play on Friday and have to make another trip to the store. Hate when that happens.

        • I also live in the Northeast (but I’m in for rain, instead).

I wonder if they just have company coming for the holiday this Thursday, and then have Friday off, so they figure they’ll just get their snack foods and dessert items now so that they don’t have to go driving in miserable weather tomorrow?

        • Yeah well, you can thank Mr. Joe Biden for the fact that they are “only screwing themselves”… as “yourself” is the only safe person to screw anymore in this country.

        • Ha one of my many extra money jobs was retail third shift store clerk. The tard monkys who have lived in snowcation land their entire lives. Would roll in like the vikings and buy up everything before/during a storm.
Even the rock hard beef jerky and 10 dollar a six pack imported beer would fly out the door.
We got two pallets of kitty litter one time by mistake , that sht was gone in 60 seconds. Yes about 6000 #’s of kitty litter lol.

So not a new thing at all.

          • Last year, I bought 400 pounds of kitty litter at one time. 6000 isn’t that much, really.

            • Kitty litter makes for good footing on ice. Until it thaws, then it turns to mud.

              • There’s nothing wrong with a little mud—it’s a broken ass I have a problem with.

        • Npgh, good luck up there. those people should’ve been getting those canned goods, water, and matches if nothing else. then they could’ve gone elsewhere to stock up on other items. I’ve always done my shopping as early as possible before any storm hits. I think we preppers can be counted as among the 68% of the population who are alarmed at the decline of this nation. That’s definitely one reason why I prep. As someone else on here just stated, ‘Normalcy bias is a tough mental condition to overcome’. My ‘normalcy bias’ is being a prepper and that’s something I give up only at my own peril. braveheart

        • Thats like here in the islands,
Tsunami sirens go off everybody rushes the stores,
          What do they buy?
          Beer
          Ice
          Chips
          More beer
          Booze
          Wine
          More junk food
          Cigarettes

          WTF?
I guess they will be whooping it up as they watch a massive wave destroy EVERYTHING below 100′ elevation,
          Oh right,
Over here on Maui that is about 80% of everything associated with food, water, sewer, power, fuel and basic logistics,,,
Should be fun, ill just sit back and act like i got nothing!

          • When a storm hits up here, if it is going to be bad, I get the map gas torch to thaw the parts, hammer, wrenches and go hook up my snow plow. Blanket the long faces (horses, not Kerry) and let the dogs in the laundryroom. The goats…they could freeze to death, I hate them destuctive little shits. Unfortunatly nothing seems to kill them. One drank my old engine oil out of the pan while I was changing the oil. Didnt bother it a bit. hhmmmm got to change the coolant soon.

            • Thats pretty funny, keep the goats around though,,,
If you get them going dropping kids you will have an excellent meat source,
I had a couple but had to get rid of em because my borders are not fenced, but am working on that one, as soon as i get it all fenced and cross fenced im going to get a few again, good for keeping the weeds down, around here shot doesnt stop growing so gets overgrown pretty quick

              • these are milk goats. Heres how they eat. leaves first, then bark off the trees, then grassy alfalfa which they get twice a day although they usually pick through it then piss on it, , then after the trees are dying from the bark stripped off, then they might eat the weeds. If I need meat, I can buy it for 3$ a pound (lean ground beef) no hormones, vaccines, or antibiotics from the ranchers. I could also kill one of the deer that hangs out around the barn.

            • GU, what kinds of blankets do you recommend for your horses? Is there one that is truly waterproof?

      3. my dad always says i never spend money and whats coming is why.

i figure between obamacare, every govt printing money and the firestorm brewing in the middle east, within 3 years things are going to get really bad from one or all of those. we’re about out of road to kick the can down.

unfortunately too many people don’t think like i do and are going to be hurt bad compared to me.

and unfortunately too many of them still believe the govt will take care of them. sad to say, but as soon as govts have to cut the dependentcy cord to save itself; they will.

        • Lena,

Good post. I believe a psychological Rubicon of sorts has been breached when Americans see that their new health insurance tax has matched or exceeded their monthly mortgage/rent. This is a very sobering epiphany for Americans, especially progressives, who thought Obamacare would be free; only to find out that they are not exempt from the plan to fleece Americans for massive new taxes.

        • They always do.

It’s not like this would be the first time, and I AM talking about “in this country”. Seems like every wave of welfare reform, they take a decent sized chunk of population and toss them overboard. To say nothing of every single group of Veterans from EVERY SINGLE war we ever had, ever.

          • second that veterans sentiment. its pretty disgusting how this pres, most officials and lot of people treat them.

if i were pres, it would be mandatory for every person to spend 3 days a year or 3 days wages in service to a vet.

        • Got most of the money out of my bank account this morning. It wasn’t exactly a fortune, mind you, but I’m still glad I did it.

          • @ Tim…..?????? you didnt take Arizona’s doomsday date of Nov 28 seriously did you?

            • Heck no, LOL.

              • Arizona may be on to something, at a briefing we were told to keep our eyes pealed for a possible cyber issue on the 28th , is AZ a member of .gov?
I will be surprised if we make it to the end of the year before all hell breaks loose.

      4. After the collapse, we’re still in a world of hurt if we don’t have enough statesman (like the founding fathers) to stand up and help put things back together based on sound principle. Just recognizing the problem isn’t enough to fix it. People need to be educated on the correct way of reorganizing, or else we trade one dictatorship for another.

      5. The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves!

        • That’s funny!

          • Npgh,

You have to wonder how much more abuse are Americans willing to suffer before they pick up their pitchforks and run these progressives turds out of town. Until then, the beatings will continue!

            • I’ve seen people bend over when the bank over charges. Nothing will change people till its too late for change.

              • Anon,

Agreed. Everyone has their limit to the crap they’ll take. Even the rabid liberal progressives. I think we are beginning to see the slightest glimmer of push-back from the liberal scum, but ONLY because they have been suddenly disenfranchised from Obama’s free healthcare buffet. The shock has not yet worn off, and more is to come next year as they are about to find out.

They are still ignorant ideological liberal progressives, but now they are unwashed second class progressives within their own movement. It’s poetic justice IMO.

            • YH, if I was in any of those families, I would say no to Obamacare which I’m already doing for myself anyway, but I understand it’s their own decision. I’ve sacrificed a number of things over the years to have supplies, but I’ll be damned if I sacrifice anything to have health insurance that’s 3-4 times more expensive than what I already have. braveheart

              • braveheart,

I couldn’t agree more. The fact that Americans are so far gone that they would allow the government to define what kind of minimum health care insurance they need is unthinkable and yet it has happened. Personally I believe, and I will stand by this to my last breath, Obamacare is not about healthcare. It’s a new tax to bail out the Federal government.

It is founded on the premise that young adults will not be able to afford it and thus they will be forced to pay the IRS penalty. What 27 year old young man in todays’ job market can pay $400+ dollars per month for health insurance premiums? No, Obamacare is deliberately designed to “fail” so people will be forced to pay the penalties to the IRS or receive huge subsidies from the taxpayers. It is the embodiment of evil if you ask me braveheart.

                • YH, I couldn’t agree with you more. the feds can get screwed.

        • YH, It’s “The Floggings will continue until morale improves. Captain’s orders!”
Or at least that is how I heard it! 🙂

          • jeepboy1991,

Thank you for the correction. Floggings sounds too prim and proper for me. I prefer beatings. When you beat a person, they won’t soon forget it!

          • I’ve good news men! The Captain has ordered a double ration of rum for the lot of you.

The bad news is that he wants to water ski…

            • LOL! Good one!

            • Yes sir first officer, I have no idea how that ski rope came to be cut!(drops pocketknife over the rail quietly) But that shark is gonna need a LOT of bicarb.
              Yo-HO 😀

      6. Hey an article to agree with. : )

Now what to do if you’re not prepared…?

I like to point people to M.D. Creekmores 10 things and 10 more things. Lots of articles have similar suggestions, but I just like the format and style of going on a short, not too expensive shopping trip.

        http://www.thesurvivalistblog.net/survival-food-storage-walmart/

Shopping and buying won’t make you ready for all the trouble, but having the basics can put you past the starting gate.

        • Dude, even having the basics puts you ahead of the 95% of the population who won’t listen to preppers. You’re already off to a pretty good start.

      7. Lets cut out spending on government and then we can afford everything else…life will be good!

      8. My wife cuts my hair. We don’t have a mortgage. My wife does her own nails. We watch movies at home for free via the internet. We don’t subscribe to any newspaper its mostly lies anyhow. we grow or hunt for our own meat. We can get by on a $100 per week. Any way my point is that most of what they are giving up are not necessitys of life. Those things listed are Luxries. the same as having health insurance is not a necessity of life.

        • wiziwig is apparently a free live sports website

        • OLD GUY , I cant believe the list of CRAP that was in that budget , no kiddin we get by with a family of four on 200 bucks a week (no mortgage).
The sad thing i guess is we cant afford any more than that but nobody is going without anything and the government aint supplying handouts.
People are caught up in some kind of daze were they think that everyone in the home needs a smartphone and you gotta have every channel the satellite offers.
          I dont get it .

          • Hammerhead, if they were eliminating all of that crap to spend on preps instead, it would be totally different. Give me preps over Obamacare any day. braveheart

          • I laughed at that family list of do withouts. Boy are they sacrificing or what. We decided no meals out even for special times. And I give the wife credit on this one, we dont give each other cards anymore. Those aint our words inside anyways. We make a nice meal and enjoy it with a few candles at the table.
All the manicures and hairdo money is better spent on foods or home repairs. Keep it simple and stay out of debt. My money is best left in my own pocket not someone elses.
Now if 2/3 of us think were on the wrong track then why do we still see people blowing money on dumb shit? Maybe thats the third that gets the govt benefits. Didnt that total out to about 100 million?

        • Wow, and I thought $900 a month was impressive… that’s just astounding. Hats off to you, Sir. I must learn to hunt… and figure out what… the heck… to do with all that meat… so it doesn’t just rot…

          • THE GUY , we can ALOT , and smoke ALOT , it aint all about meat , its bargain shopping .
I havent bought brand new clothes in years i save the money for my girls . I shop at salvation army store.

        • Old Guy, I do all those things also. My son hunts and my husband likes to fish. I can all sorts of things, such as potatoes, string beans, veg. soup, stew beef, lima beans, speckled butter beans, sausage, tomatoes for example.
I can’t imagine anyone spending so much on such things. I cut my own hair and do my nails also. I can’t remember the last movie I ever saw, our suv is a 2000 and was a demonstrator at that. Has served us well too. My husbands truck is a little newer, but was used also.
I don’t own a camera, DVD or VCR. My cellphone cost me $39.00 and the two of us share 500 min. a month (the minimum). We at least need that for our cabinet shop business. Our home is paid for and we are completely out of debt.
There is not much to cut back on to meet extra expensives.
We are just two out of many that are in this boat. It is so unfair to have worked so hard and have to wind up like this.

          4yp

          • I’ve got food, rent (electricity, water/sewer, gas included)a landline and internet…wonder what frivolities I could cut…

          • I quit going to movies 3 years ago. I honestly can’t stomach their propaganda evil crap. Then to add salt to a burning wound we have a bunch of hypocritically violent, gun loving stars telling us….ENOUGH, then Jim Carey commenting on “from my cold dead hands” Fuck them, fuck Hollywood, I wouldn’t spend one red cent on them, actually I wouldn’t piss on any of them if they were on fire….I’m sure I’m going to get thumbs down but it’s how I feel.

            LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!

      9. As far as I know, there is nothing in the law that makes it illegal for an insurance company to provide old-fashioned coverage — i.e. coverage that doesn’t provide things that most people don’t want or need, such as maternity care, abortion coverage, mental health coverage, pre-existing coverage, etc. And the only penalty if an individual or family buys such “sub-standard” coverage is a 1% penalty (that they can’t collect except by attaching someone’s refund if they over pay.)

Some insurance company could make a bundle by offering pre-Obamacare policies at affordable prices.

        • My understanding is that it has been made illegal to provide policies that don’t offer everything President Obama and company figured out was necessary. Those policies are those subtandard bad actors who we have been saved from.

If you look it up and find otherwise let me know.

          • Someone on Fox News was touting some policy that provided insurance at a reasonable rate even after paying the penalty. I wish I could remember the name of the company.

            • the states that have the highest increse in insurance policies are those that were not as regulated as (blue) states that have slight decreases (that will be temporary).

and that 1% penalty, is PER FAMILY MEMBER – so a family with many children is going to pay quite a bit, especially after the “penalty” increases for the next year.

forbes has an article about it with good explanation. google obamacare penalties.

and those of us who are self employed, might pay up to 4500 dollar penalty and still not have health insurance. THIS is who this is intended to break first. Small business is done and the country is toast. No middle class. Welcome in the communist utopia.

          • Yep its the were all going to have the same thing when we come out on the other side law!
WERE ALL GOING TO HAVE NOTHING!
The ACA establishes a minimum level of coverage for all people, thats why you read these articles about 50 year old MEN with maternity coverage and 30 year old WOMEN with free prostate exams!
            Buncha fuckin idiots in government,

          • That’s true, if the policy doesn’t meet the new Obamacare standards of abortion coverage, contraception, mental health, etc., it is illegal to offer it and buy it.

Obama just announced last week he wanted to delay that requirement for a year, until after the congressional elections, of course.

        • Obamacare mandates what the minimum coverage is per individual and mandates that everyone be covered for pretty much everything regardless of their sex. So…as a man you have to pay for abortion coverage, pregnancy coverage, etc…women have to pay for male specific coverage that they can never use. Obamacare is designed to bankrupt the middle class and turn the U.S. into a communist third world hell hole. It’s coming.

        • Actually, there is a law aginst a simple plan as stated. That is why they are dumpling my policy and the rates are increasing. This is the definition of the ACA. The only legal plans are those that are grandfathered in (which they figured out how to do away with) and the new plans that are in place now.

        • One woman and her mouth got prayer taken out of schools for an entire nation because no body stood up…One woman and her mouth got up and griped about having to pay for her birth control and has gotten that changed for an entire nation….one man is slowly tearing our nation to shreds. So sad that one person is able to get so much chaos started because they are not shut up. We need to get the duct tape out, then the handcuffs and haul some of these idiots off!

          • Has anyone ever noticed that the “lone complainer” only gets his way, when his/her agenda is the same as TPTB agenda?

      10. I love watching prestorm shoppers,I buy one item say something nice to eat/extra leftovers as may be housebound a few days, hence easy as in 10 or less line, the panic you see some folks go thru, damn!I really just check plenty of wood inside/jenny good/oil lamp full.I also before a storm take a extra nice shower as want to severely limit jenny use.I make sure have a bunch of unread books from library also.

        • All we really do is make sure the Jeep is topped off so we will not have to pour stored fuel if we need it to keep the fridge cold, but most often we lose power in the winter so push it onto the back porch and run it a lot less. I don’t even bother to bring the jenny up from the retreat anymore. Our cooking, shower, and heat is gas and requires no electricity.

My wife went shopping this morning since family is arriving for Thanksgiving tomorrow. The prestorm shoppers were not out yet and most here don’t consider 5″ a storm anyway, but the network the registers were on went down as she was leaving and they had to close the store so now they are extra screwed.

      11. Q. Any of you veterans get the recent VA statement on veterans’ patient privacy?

        ….and I quote:

“How VHA May Use or Disclose Your Health Information WITHOUT [emphasis added] Your Authorization (See below for more information about these categories)”

[…they go on to list TWENTY-FOUR bullet-points on how they can give away veterans’ PRIVATE healthcare information WITHOUT their consent]

Here are some highlights on their arbitrarily releasing vets’ PRIVATE healthcare info without their consent:

        o Health or Safety Activities
        o Public Health Activities
        o Law Enforcement
o Services (e.g. giving information to contractors or business associates performing services for VHA)
        o National Security Matters
        o Activities Related to Research
o General Information Disclosures (e.g., giving our general information about you to your family and friends)
o Verbal Disclosures when you are not present

Sooooo NO privacy at all with regards to veterans’ healthcare…

They then go on to state you can request that parts of your healthcare information be restricted, but THEY DON’T HAVE TO AGREE TO IT!!!

No shit this country is on the wrong track…this train is headed for Communist Central!!

        • I’m a Veteran and I have never used the V.A. and I never will. The V.A. is now a collection agency designed to discredit all American Vets and take away their firearms. Stay away from the corrupt V.A. It may save your life by NOT going there!

          • I agree with the above posters who detail facts about VA healthcare. My dad, a WW2 vet was denied care by the VA, then was admitted later to Bay Pines VA hospital. He was released a week before he took his own life. He was 31. I too am a vet, and I receive healthcare from that same hospital. It creeps me out to go there. To opt out of the only healthcare I have is not an option. VA is just another big pharma pill pushing nightmare. If you receive their healthcare you must appear at least once every two years.

Keep prepping, Happy Thanksgiving, to everyone.

      12. Trust in and accept the Lord Jesus Christ, He is your/our only hope. Admit your a sinner, ask forgivness, live the life. It’s not easy but with what’s coming down the road, at least He’ll be with you in the mist of all the trouble.

      13. I disagree about the extra 110 bucks a month on the mortgage. I say if you can get it paid off quickly, do so. I refi’d 3 years into it, then paid off that full amount in another 7 years. I threw everything I could at that mortgage, to pummel it into the ground and get done with it. It was a $1,000-month raise after that.

        • Get that mortgage done so you can dump more into preps. Get more long-term-storeable food. Have the mechanic go through the car and bring it up to snuff, get it reliable. Get a CB installed.

          • CB radio, I hadn’t thought of those for years ( ok, Decades, Had one back in the 70’s during the heyday) until I found some midland CB handhelds at an estate sale a few weeks ago for a few bucks. I KNOW I have a box in the attic somewhere with my old ones and the antennas, gonna have to get them down and test them out. I wonder how much traffic there is on the CB bands these days outside of the truckers near highways. Post shtf, CB’s will probably make a comeback. Or not, frs/gmrs is much more common today so perhaps the CB bands will not be that well known.
How many people here are old enough to remember the C.W. McCall song “convoy”? Ok… ok… I’m old!

              • Come on and join our convoy, ain’t nothin goin get in our way

            • Jeepboy, I’ve got an old Cobra 25 LTD Classic with antenna in storage that I test once per month. Not much else on it besides the truckers these days. I remember C.W. McCall also. It hurts to get old. braveheart

            • I’ve got a Uniden AX44 mobile, with a 100w linear. I’m using it with a 12v adapter as a base. I can pick up the entire setup in a couple of minutes and go mobile if I need to…electrical tape is already in the BOB.

            • I was listening to Humble Pie and Ten Years After, back then. But I remember it and the other one I remember was King of the road?

          • scout, i have been looking at CBs , i have no clue what i am looking at. had one back in the day , but the new ones leave me feelin like i gotta be a technician.
            Any advice ?

            • I have both a base station and a mobile CB. My advice would be find some nearby Ham radio operators using the ARRL web site advanced lookup feature and ask one of them for help. Most hate CBs, but the knowledge is similar. Since I expect the airwaves to be crowded they both have single side band.

I also have a cheap (under $40) Baofeng handheld which due to FCC Part 95 are only legal in an actual emergency for FRS, GMRS, MURS, and non-trunked emergency responder (without authorization) frequencies. Licensed Ham operators can also use it on 70cm and 2 meter. It also receives commercial FM and weather radio broadcasts.

              • see ya just lost me in all the FRS, GMRS,MURS stuff.
                I got no clue .
I do have a shortwave reciever( i like brother stair) but i do not have a way to broadcast.
I guess i should just buy a CB and learn , probably the best way to learn ?
I have an old CB from the eighties , will it still do the job ?

                • Hammerhead, I’ll tell you what I know which is not really that much. Your old 80s vintage should still work. Is it 23 channel or 40 channel? (40 is newer).
Single side band (SSB) is a way of getting more trnsmitter power out of a radio (12 watts vs 4 watts I think) using some bandwidth trick I do not really understand but I know you need a ssb capabible radio at both ends. Mine are not ssb capable.

FRS (Family radio service)/ GMRS (general “something” radio service (I forget)) radios are the “bubble pack” radios at the sporting goods stores with advertised 16 to 30 mile ranges. Expect about 2-3 miles in reality.

FRS is no license (like CB) GMRS is supposed to have a license, but most people don’t bother. they share channels 1-14(the frs channels) on the frs/gmrs band which is vhf and different from the CB bands. gmrs uses channels 15-22 at a higher power than frs. most gmrs radios step down to 0.5 watts on channels 1-14 to match frs radios. The FCC is considering delicensing gmrs like they did with CB back in the late 70s but it hasen’t happend yet.

MURS is Multi use radio service using a 3rd different set of frequencies and requires no license.
CB, MURS and frs/gmrs cannot talk to each other since they are entirely different frequencies. (gmrs and frs can talk to each other)
I learned most of this with a few yahoo searches on the web. I hope this helps

                  • General Mobile Radio Service…73, babycatcher…

                • Hammerhead, you should test out that old 80s-era CB first to see how it does. I’ve got an old Cobra from the late 90s but it stays in storage most of the time. If your 80s CB still works OK, it should do. You’re doing exactly right with the shortwave. I’ve got 2 stashed away in my homemade faraday cage [metal trash can from Home Depot for $20]. I never touch any of the FRS/GMRS/MURS radios, so you know as much as I do about those. If your 80s CB still works Ok, try to stick with it and definitely keep the shortwave for backup. That will probably be the primary source for information once the internet is lost. braveheart

                • AN old cb from the 80s is probably better than a new one form now.

                  and not made in china.

              • I had a CB in my car way back and I do remember the song Convoy. I do have a question though. If one purchases a used CB radio and we do not have any electric, can the radio be hooked up to some type of battery?

                • They are usually ready to run on 12 volts, so a regular old car or deep cycle lead storage should work fine.

                • Jbird, if you have a spare car battery fully charged, yes it’s possible to run the radio from that battery. the wires on the CB are clearly marked red for positive and black for negative [ground]. Strip 1″ of insulation from each wire and use some battery connectors to connect the wires to the battery and that should do the trick for you. braveheart

                • Yes Jbird, That will work. Back in the 70s I used the battery out of our ski boat to run my cb as a base station. Any 12 volt car type battery will work to run one.

                • I was once told two 6 volt batteries in series would work as well as one 12 volt. Is that true?

                  • Yes and last longer too.

                • I’ve got mine hooked up to a 12v adapter, on my kitchen table. AC is AC and DC is DC. All you have to do for an older radio is use an adapter with the same volts and roughly the same amps.

I know, some damn electronics wizard will probably have to chime in and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I’ve been bench testing mobile devices for decades, using 12v house adapters and even 12v battery chargers.

I can’t tell you how many odd adapters I’ve found somewhere, cut the end off of it and used it for something where the volts/amps closely matched. The trick is to never greatly exceed the requirements for the device.

                  i.e. 24v, 3 amps DOES NOT EQUAL 12v, 1.5 amps

                • Yes, all it needs is a 12 volt battery, then use a Solar panel to charge the battery, cheap and easy to move and set-up

keep prepping and leave those old CB’s in a metal garbage can, lined with bubble wrap or carboard.

                  Keep prepping and reloading.

            • I think my mobile CB rig is a Cobra 148 GTL. It has SSB (single side band)which is very important. In simple terms it acts like more output power with the same transmitter wattage. (There are ways around wattage issues…or at least that’s what I hear);)
With a horizontal polarization on the antenna and a good ground plane(like a van roof)it will reach out to the local area better than most of the FRS/GRMS/MURS radios. I think this is from backscatter from ionosphere.

For about $150 and a $50 antenna you are reaching out for several miles without having to have line of sight. Get a few hand helds with SSB and you are good to go… at least with CB coms. We have both HAM radio & MURS as well.

              Comms are important.

              • I’m looking for a handheld, but no one carries them in the stores anymore. Radio Shack carries them online.

                • Braveheart, Check ebay and search cb radio handheld. Or search midland 75-785 or maxon hcb and several will pop up. They are identical, just different brand names on the cover. Amazon has the midland 75-785 and frys.com also has it. The ones I have are pretty good. scored them at an estate sale.

                • Costco carries the GRS Family radios often on sale for around 50-70 for a pair.

Also can be recharge by use of a solar panel setup..

Rather, I believe that there is hope in understanding what is happening, and I believe that there is hope in getting prepared.”

I believe the same things, precisely, and live daily life accordingly.

        ~GV

        • I too do not worry about the future. It will not add one day to my life. Obamacare has not affected us yet because my wife works for the state, but we’ve recently cut back to save money to install a privacy fence (with barbed wire fold-up extensions) and chicken coop at the main house next spring:

I cancelled my fulfilled DirecTV contract and my wife opened a new account through Sam’s Club. Reduced our existing bill by $600 over the next two years plus got a $200 gift card which I used to buy her Christmas gift.

Cancelled my cell phone service of $42 a month and bought a prepaid one on Amazon with 1,200 minutes over the next year (way more than I use) for $79 which saves another $800 over the same period.

Cancelled my wife’s Blockbuster subscription just a few weeks before they announced no more DVD by mail. DirecTV comes with free movie channels for the next 3 months so we’ll DVR plenty for when we cancel it when it is no longer free.

Sold my truck and eliminated the insurance, repairs, taxes, and tags on that. For a few hundred dollars I can purchase a trailer equal to its bed size to tow behind the Jeep.

Dragged four old cinder blocks out of the neighbors junk pile and built a “four block rocket stove” in case our natural gas and propane both run out at the same time. The wood stove we have here is a barrel kit which installs temporarily due to lack of space and isn’t much good for cooking.

Finally got her basement cleaned out (she’s a hoarder) and my tools unpacked. She ordered me a workbench for Christmas and I plan to become much more efficient in fabricating survival items.

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
          – Charles R. Swindoll

          • PrepPast,

How much confidence do you have in that barrel stove kit? I always think that just might be the thing for just in case, but then I worry that I’ll asphyxiate my family. I live way up north with electricity as the only utility coming in.

So I always worry about how we’ll stay warm when the juice goes out. I have a good kerosene space heater with 10 gallons of k1. But for long term, I really want something that can burn wood or hell even phone books if needed (but wait that was our toilet paper supply).

            thanks

            • Best thing I ever did was spend the money on a good, modern, wood stove, with a top surface I can cook on if I feel like it.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime purchase, and worth it. Right now, it’s cost me $42 for each year of service, in three homes. That number goes down each year.

              • Smokey, Thanks for that. I’ll add that to my “overall outlook”. Unfortunately, I don’t think I could take that view yet. I live in about 1000 sq feet with no chimney or vent to tie into. We have two little guys under 4. Mom has already told me she worries about them around a wood stove (she’s a worrier). And we’ll probably move out of this place in a few years. I would have to pay to get it vented properly, then pay to have that undone in a few years. But for the long term plan, I think I have to take your viewpoint and save up for a good one and do it right at my next home.

My current thinking is a cheaper wood stove I can instal in the garage, and then move into this house if it all goes bad in the next 5 years, or I could put in a vent free propane/nat gas catalytic heater or fireplace and take that with me when I move. Wood is less grid dependent, but around here there actually aren’t that many trees.

      15. We lost our power Sunday might for some unknown reason. I had a flashlight handy in the room we were viewing TV in and felt my way in the dark to get it wondering if the lights would ever come back on. (EMP, Solar Flare, ?)
As I sat there thinking after I had lit some candles, I felt pretty at ease knowing I had done all I could to prepare for instances such as these.
My husband is not a prepper and disagrees with much of what I do. He assures me that if anything happens he will surprise me as how well he can survive. Well, 5 minutes later he announced he was going to bed (at 8:00).I informed “Mr Survivalist” that he was going to sit RIGHT there until the light came on, (if ever) and prove to me to be all he claims to be.
Obamacare is one thing I cannot prepare for. So far we have not been cancelled and our insurance is thru the government. I pray we can make it. I live a simple life and there is not much I can cancel to raise extra money. No movies, no beauty palor, eating out, trips, no cultured nails, etc.
As so many of you say, prepare for the worse and hope for the best.
        God Bless

      16. Just inserting a comment that the WHO stated today that the deliberate HIV infections in Greece was actually just an enormous typo in the report they had written up, and that they actually have no evidence of anyone doing this.

        • Ah ha. Sure WHO. I’ll stick with the story as originally reported. The revised story smells a lot like bull crap to me. Thanks Jenn.

        • It sure was weird. And it’s not like it was an easy typo to make, either. It wasn’t like they just forgot to add the word “not” to a sentence, or something like that.

Maybe it’s someone’s idea of damage control, to keep even more incidents from occurring?

**sighs** People are weird. 700 euros is not nearly enough to convince me to give myself even a case of norovirus (been there, done that, still can’t look at applesauce without cringing…. it was all I could hold down for two miserable weeks), never mind something huge like HIV.

          • jenn- dont it seem strange all of the retractions in the press lately ?
Did you see the piece on bengazi that 60 minutes aired?
            and then retracted ?
Well now it seems Lara Logan and her producer are on some sort of admin. leave .
I guess the truth has its LIMITS .

            • I see those kinds of occurrences as a positive thing. To me, it means the MSM is at least trying to publish real news, even though they seem to be paying the price for it.

As far as the retractions go, it’s a bit like saying something in front of a jury in court—the judge can tell the jury to “disregard that” all he wants. but the damage has already been done.

You can’t “unhear” something once you’ve heard it.

          • True dat, girl.

      17. Jenn, I saw that. What a weird thing to make such huge mistake on, huh?

Pointing out that a good many of that 68% voted for this Sh*t and will continue to do so.

Having a hard time with sympathy these days.

      18. Kate Joy and her husband did the right thing in cutting back. To bad the $s had to go to ACA.

        • anonymous, I understand it’s their decision, but the money DOES NOT NECESSARILY have to go to Obamacare. they would be far better off spending it on preps.

      19. This family, probably middle to upper class *has* a bit of extra income to work with. Some, if not many of the items on the list are considered *non-essentials* and are considered luxuries to many of us. This is further proof of deliberately lowering the middle class down to lower class and destroying the lower class all together.

The paying off of the mortgage is a nice goal if you can do it, but be prepared for the enormous taxes that will be coming. You can’t get blood from turnip they say…but you can bet they will try!

        • i am really afraid of future property taxes , if i were to lose my “agricultural” tax status i would lose everything .
My fear is that they will mess with the family farms through taxation .

          • A lot of farms were lost during The Great Depression for non-payment of taxes. I would hope TPTB would see what an asset you are to this country (Thanks BTW), but like grandma use to say hope in one hand . . .

You might consider splitting off a small piece with a separate deed. This would create a separate tax bill for that parcel so if the worst happened you might be able to hold onto it a little longer if you couldn’t pay the taxes on the whole thing. People criticize me here for holding physical silver, but I have enough to pay my retreat property taxes for over a hundred years at today’s rates. I wouldn’t want to lose my retreat right before TSHTF.

            • I thought about it but it raises my overall bill now.
Anyway its a direct assualt on family farms that conserns me most , Agenda 21 is a huge threat as it will only support “factory” farms . All other land is to be
              abandoned and let go .
I live in a zone that according to the “land realocation” map will require abandonment.
I have alot of nieghbors(small farms) who are really worried about the intentions of this UN santion and how far the US government will go with it.

              • BTW , folks are gettin wise to this UN trap , to the north in Atrim county they passed anti Agenda 21 legislation and plan as a county to protect against this land grab .

MAC – We should have more articles and info on Agenda21 and what it means going forward . Its becoming more of an issue out in the sticks than ever before .
It seems to have been forgotten , thanks.

            • Lots of parcels here have been excepted from the mortgage deed, usually it’s an acre containing the house, it’s all mortgaged, but the taxes are separate.

        • Socrates–you bring up a good point.
Those families with two working for minimum wage have no buffer when their bill for mandated donation to the insurance company arrives.
Tell them to cut back on manicures, magazines, getaways, and donations, oh and restaurant/entertainment!!

      20. I’m not a prepper in its true sense, but I am ready to get the proverbial ball rolling with regards to the reset. Need to get to the other side of this thing. Sooner the better.

        • Ride, prepping will help you survive to the other side, where ever that may be!

      21. If you haven’t already, I HIGHLY recommend that you read “The Harbinger” by Johnathan Kahn.

        http://www.theharbinger-jonathancahn.com/

America was disciplined (as was ancient Israel) and we responded EXACTLY as they did…What happened to Israel for their recalcitrance? They were sent into Babylonian exile for over 2500 years…

We’ve asked (no, rather demanded) that God leave us to our own devices. Honoring that Free Will decision, God has removed his Providential Hands of protection from our once great nation and now look at us?
        Moral decay
        Economic Ruin
        Political Corruption
        Unprecedented debt levels (Soverign,Corp,Personal)

Rather than repent of our collective ways and ask for the Lord to heal us and our nation, we’ve done as ancient Israel, raised our angry and defiant fists towards Heaven and re-quoted Isaiah 9:10 all over again.

…we’re on the fast track to OUR Babylonian exile, and we have only ourselves to blame.
        -Dad

      22. isn’t it funny that we, the taxpayers, are paying for best healthcare for these crooked-ass politicians that have gotten the world into this mess, and healthcare for their families? these politicians are so evil! they ALL need to be voted out, democrats and republicans! vote for a third party of your choice, and encourage others to do the same. voting for a third party is a loser, you say? well, as I’m sure you know by now, voting for democrat or republican is a loser also. we all know that. look where democrats and republicans have gotten us so far? what’s to lose trying something new? my life experiences have shown me time and time again that change can be a very positive and rewarding thing. stop drinking the coolaide!

      23. Oh noes, they would have to cancel DISH network?

The fraggin horror, man. Marlon Brando is laying on the floor in that Vietnamese temple, passing out from it all… whispering “the horror… the horror…”

I’m even attempting to figure out how in God’s name I could possibly come up with an additional $791 A MONTH???

        Um.

        Let’s see here.

        Kill internet entirely
        Kill landline
        Kill heavily discounted cell phone
Kill gym (sounds trivial but I need that for… oh yeah… HEALTH reasons)…

        So far I’m at $190.

        Now what?

Stop eating. Completely. Oh I’ll be kind and give myself Nissin Cup O Noodles. Fine. That’s like what… 2 of those a day is… $18 a month in food. Ok I just saved another $140 a month by NOT FUCKING EATING…

        Now I’m at what… $330…

Kill all my electricity. Fine I just picked up about another $80. $410 now.

Note at this point I am NOT EATING, I HAVE NO ELECTRICITY, and I’m UTTERLY neglecting my health, and I’m halfway there now.

        Good good now what?

Bike to work I guess. BIKE 60 F*CKING MILES to work. Ok… no… basically pull up a tent and bike home on the weekends. Well, there’s my exercise I guess… yay me! On NO FOOD. Ah… yeah that. I save another eh $260 there (hey my car gets great gas mileage)… aaand kill my car insurance. My MINIMUM STATE LIABILITY car insurance.

        HEY I DID IT!

And all I had to do was live in a tent like a homeless person 5 days out of the week and not eat!

Wow, I should be REALLY HEALTHY NOW, thanks to all that G*DDAM USELESS health insurance! Which… apparently, I reall AM going to be needing under this scenario. Hope you guys like paying out a lot… oh right… insurance companies are in the business of collecting premiums, not paying out anything. I’m sure you’ll get me on a technicality like I dunno… I had an ingrown toenail once and I failed to report it so therefore no soup for me!

WELL! Peachy! This has worked out so very well for me!

… Pffft “DISH network”… f*cking please… some people ahve way too much time on their hands…

      24. You don’t have to be a genius to see how badly this country has deteriorated in the past 10 years or so. The core of the United States has been slowly rotting away for the past 50 to 60 years. You could fill a book as to the reasons why. The finish line for the complete destruction of this country as a society and nation for the true foes of America is within sight. I can’t even imagine; in my worst nightmare; how this is going to play out. I will say; to everyone who reads this board; your going to have to be Stronger; Bolder; and Smarter than you’ve even been in your entire lives; for your and your family’s sake. Its going to be THAT bad.

        • On the upside Dave, with no wife/kids can take risks, tis fine as long as I take a few to the rock in hell with me!

“The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves!”

You are absolutely spot-on ! How much is enough?? The lawyer/politicians & banksters should already be lamp post decorations all over D.C. But how many people even bother to email or call their disapproval to the politicians now? What will it take to put people in the streets short of a system-wide collapse or calamity? Have most people even seen the national debt clock lately because they’re too busy watching American Idolatry or Dancing with the Scars?

        • This is largely because the “complaints” box is located in the maximum security wing at Gitmo.

Or was the heavy-handed intimidation tactics lost on everyone?

Doubt it was or people would minimally be demonstrating at this point.

      27. There are many articles to read at Devvy Kidd’s website… http://www.devvy.com today, that will stay there til Dec. 10th. I would like to bring your attention to 2 fr them in particular.. one is a documentary called 911: The New Pearl Harbor…by Massemo Mazzucco (not sure of the spelling)… but it is done in 5 sessions of one hour each and you can watch it on the internet…the website is given… it appears to be a summary of much information that is known re: 911… I have only watched one session so far, and highly recommend it. Another article, that ties into this article by Michael Snyder, is titled: “The Federal Reserve System as a parasite” by Dr. Edwin Vieira..it must have been written several years back, but it is so educational. You will learn what a real “dollar” is…what commodity money is; fiduciary money, and then fiat money… and so much more. Once again, I recommend printing out a copy as it is long but gives the whole picture of our current money system via the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury…This is not information that is easily found…if it was, people would know what a real “dollar” was, as intended by the Constitution. direct website: http://www.hiwaay.net/~becraft/VieiraMono4.htm (If it does not work, go to http://www.Devvy.com and find the article by Vieira)

      28. You don’t have to be a fortune teller to know this, but the Stock market will continue to go up as long as the Feds keep pumping stimulus money into the economy. But the day they stop lookout, your going to see a crash like never before. All the insiders will know this before it goes public and as usual they will be able to get out and only the little sheeple will get trampled. Who knows when this will happen, next month, next year, or 5 years from now. But it will happen when the bearings on the printing presses burn out. Trekker Out!

        • IN the meantime, make all the cash you can off the markets.

I have turned 10k into an INSANE amount since 2009.

          Take advantage.

      29. THE WARNING occurs in DECEMBER!

During The Warning, Jesus will tell all of us in the United States that 2-6 weeks after it we will have to leave for HIS special Refuge Places prepared by chosen humans and His angels (NOT the fema death camps filled with guillotines and crematoriums– don’t believe me? Then how come no journalist has EVER been ALLOWED in one? What is SO super secret about them? But of course, unless you are a government plant, you KNOW the answer to THAT question!)

Any of you who would read the last ten Messages at http://www.thewarningsecondcoming.com including the one TODAY will see that The Warning is just weeks away! It is IMMINENT!

It will be an INCREDIBLE act of Divine Mercy!

Furthermore, as it approaches, we will begin to “feel” something spiritually inside and actually “know” that something is approaching.

Remember, it comes on the heels of the Ison Comet, which begins to arrive, as I understand it, on Thursday, November 28th.

The plain truth is that our country elected a man who set out to destroy it and that he is indeed doing.

But during The Warning, each of us, including our president, will be shown EXACTLY where we would be in Hell or in Purgatory or in Heaven, if we would have passed away the day before. And then we will be given the chance to repent, in front of Jesus, and change our ways.

Sadly, Jesus said, not all would convert during The Warning!

That’s how many lies Satan has told all evildoers and deceptions he has shown them when the ONLY place Satan WILL be with the unrepentant will be in the fiery, dark, lightless, bowels of Hell, and Hell is forever.

Satan HATES man, because God put Humans ABOVE the Angels.

Please listen VERY carefully during The Warning during your own private encounter with Our Lord.

Let us all take this opportunity before The Warning to sincerely and genuinely repent of all our sins, and if you are Catholic, you can do that in the Sacrament of Confession, to make your Warning experience “less intense”.

Because of everything I have ever mentioned (no, I do not know it all, I have learned SO much for all of you!) we need to stock up NOW on enough nonperishable food AND water (if you haven’t already) because after The Warning the whole planet stands to be in chaos, for at least as long as a week and much that has been prophesied that will take place AFTER The Warning will occur: WWIII, man-made famine, currency collapse, MARTIAL LAW, and the emergence of the Antichrist who will FIRST be seen and hailed as a peacemaker among “seven warring nations in the Middle East.”

Don’t be fooled. Jesus has said anyone claiming to be HIM on this Earth will NOT be Him, as Jesus WILL return, but not be on our planet, and not in human form, but transformed form.

The internet will most likely be shut down too.

If I haven’t already, I thank each of you for teaching me so much.

        I will miss coming here.

If you have ANY time, just read the last ten Messages at http://www.thewarningsecondcoming.com, or just read the LATEST few.

You will thank yourself for having done so.

        God bless you all.

        – The Lone Ranger

        • I also follow the site you spoke of………..he is coming. Repent and don’t be fearful God loves us, have faith!!!!!!

          • Yes, A Believer, Jesus IS coming and I am NOT referring to Christmas,, but to THE WARNING!

      30. Ok, going to take the contrarian position here –

I for one am fearful of only one real scenario, and that is if things do NOT hit the fan, and keep churning along as they have for decades now.

If I were a praying man, it would be for this SHTF to GET A MOVE ON. I am tired of waiting for it. Tired of seeing the weak, ignorant, bottom-feeding masses grow daily. Tired of seeing humanity rape, plunder and destroy the environment. Tired of witnessing the adulation and worship of those most corrupt, decadent, and profane in our world.

        THIN the f**king herd already!

        • I did my share of raping plundering and destroting the environment today. I took my chain saw and killed a half dozen trees for firewood. Saw belching blue smoke from the oil mixed with the gas. I drove to the wood,s and hauled the wood in my gas guzzling 3/4 chev pk that has a big block 402 engine without any smog devices or catlyic conveter. I really enjoyed myself. I am now enjoying the heat from that wood burning in my stove. and I am eating a deer that I blasted in the face with a 12 guage shotgun.

          • That Bambi had big brown eyes, right?

            • Yep I kill Fawns & yearlings god eating. Who wants to eat some old tough buck that stinks because he is in rut/

      31. Had a dream the other night that I got a new job and had to fill out a form to indicate what form of abuse I would like to have. One of the choices was, for example, verbal abuse in front of the other employees, and it was supposed to last a few months and make us better employees. I said “This is BS” and lost the job.

That’s what things feel like right now – what form of abuse should we sign up for? Obamacare or pay a fine? What kind of risk should we take financially? Everything is risky, from every kind of financial investment to keeping money in the bank, or not. Thank God we still have our insurance, for now at least.

      32. It don’t take a rocket scientist to see that this country is going down the chute. 68% now believe that this country is going down the tubes, that means that approx. 17.5% of those are the voters that voted for the dik likr…Hows that hopey, changey working for you now???
You all can prepare for what’s coming. You know who you are are, the ones that laughed when we tried to warn you about voting for this a-hole because of some perceived white guilt. Suffer you a-holes. Sometimes I feel almost ecstatic when I hear some Libturd complaining about their struggles. Ain’t Karma a B!tch. Ha,Ha,Ha!!!

        • Hey, say when. My neighbors don’t speak to me now after my response to THEIR email complaining to ME that ACA was gonna tap into their bank account and other stuff, blah, blah, blah…
And actually to my face said they weren’t sure if they’d vote for him AGAIN in 2012??
Nope..they don’t dare speak to me.
          YOU…CAN’T…FIX…STUPID!!

        • Its worse than I thought. The Golden Rule/united healthcare site has some blather about rates going up in 2014 but the phone help can’t tell you when or how much. All they can tell you is you’ll have 30 days notice about the rates being jacked. I guess the 133% increase (~233% what I’m paying now) is not fear mongering. Looks like USA is in for a major shocker. I guess the poor will just drop down to medicaid, the rich will shrug it off, and the rest of us will have to decided if we’ll keep working just to pay the piper.

        • truth, no one is signing up anywhere.
One state had 50,000 new sign ups for Medicaid…but only 6000 for ‘other’ insurance.
6000 probably with serious health issues!!!

      33. Well Well,…. lets examine the demographics of the 23.5% that thinks the Country is on the right track. They either are dumber than a brick of 16 penny nails,(no offense to nails)stuck on a dark shelf in the back of a closet, or they are the thieves, politicians, military contractors or banksters profiting heavily off of eveyone else’s misery. No worry, they will get handed their too, when the SHTF Reset Button, puts them in the bread lines with the rest. Remember only the “Meek and Preppers shall inherit the earth.” The other’s destiny, has already been decided.

      34. The same stat showed up when GWB was president. Now with Obama. The problem is the American people do not know what they want. That is seen here on this site in droves.

        • ncjoe, that may be true with nonpreppers, but not with the people here. Come on joe, you know better than that. you’ve been coming to this site longer than I’ve been. I know you read the posts here every time you come on here. We always know what we want and where we stand on various issues. why would you lie like that? How do you live with yourself? How can you look at yourself in the mirror and not see anything wrong with yourself?

        • NC joe

“The problem is the American people do not know what they want.”

They know what they want which is opportunity. The problem is both horses are bought in the two horse race and the plan is for opportunity to be moved to the developing world.

      35. We already live a very simple, plain life. I cut the hair, never have had my nails done, we don’t eat out, don,t have tv, almost never go the the movies, we grow most of our own food, I shop at resale for clothes, we don’t get magazines or news papers, we drive an old truck, grow and sell our own animal feed, I milk goats, and also make our cheese, we don’t waste anything, we don’t take vacations, and we don’t buy birthday or Christmas gifts…I could go on, but the point is, we live very, very simply, yet we pay a good deal for health insurance. If ours is going up, I just don’t know where we will get the money. I refuse to go on Obamacare!

        • Welcome to the fold

          Same here..

          possee

        • I haven’t set foot in a hair salon since 2001, which was for my wedding day. I’ve never had a manicure done. I learned how to do my own hair. Cut, color, style. Just studied many tutorials on the internet and took it from there. With enough practice, I’ve had women ask me where I get my hair done, and they are surprised when they find out that I do my own highlights. I know how to do many things with just natural products I find in the kitchen cabinet too.

I haven’t been on a vacation since my honeymoon either. Birthdays and Christmas are limited to a couple of gifts per person, and that’s within immediate family.

I haven’t had cable in so many years. I think it was the year 2000 since I had cable on.

A lot of the things that I have had to adjust to doing without, are just now hitting people who have had these luxuries for years. All I can say is, welcome to my world. Learn how to be more self sufficient and downsize.

          • Some people go to your area for vacation. There isnt one place Id rather be than where Im at.

        • please buy lottery ticket. I think you are due. Seriously, you are troopers.

      37. Obama is pushing a war in the Middle-East if nothing more than to drive the price of oil through the roof. $5.00 to $7.00 gas prices (or more) will just about finish off the middle class. There will be no recovery if it goes hot in the next 3 new moons, I look for the first new moon of 2014, but that’s just what I think.

      38. fifteen years ago I bought a brand new made in sweden chain saw. cost $200 plus 10 dollars taxes. This morning I went and bought a new bar, sprocket, a gallon of bar & chain oil two chains and two files. paid $76.65 and $6.90 in taxes. I suppose I cant complain making the original bar last 15 years. I cut firewood this evening and the new parts worked fine. Ive owned USA made chain saws that I bought new beforeI purchased this Sweden manufactured saw. And the US made saws where junk within 2 years.

      39. My wife Is cooking deer tender loin tonite. I just snuck a piece when she wasn’t looking very good. You cant get this quality kind of food eating out.

      40. WTF have the OTHER 32% been smokin’?

      41. I can’t feel sorry for anyone fussing about having to cancel their satellite tv and give up eating out.

      42. We are not on the wrong tracks.

We’re on the RIGHT tracks, just going too fast and going to derail…..

      43. Today we went to see the movie “Catching Fire” then came home and make taco’s. It’s the little things that make a day great. Nobody can take those things from us and we should try to enjoy life everyday in some way. I too feel a crisis is coming and I believe when it comes I will regret not having more days like today…..Enjoy everyone!

      44. We must realize in general the government doesn’t even like the middle class, they only desire to see us as a managed resource (pay taxes, to fight their wars, have our wealth confiscated, to serve them in any way they see necessary to further their goals which by the way are not really meant to benefit us in any way. Their goals includes eliminating the middle class and have society composed of a small but extremely wealthy and powerful class and then a vast under-class with little to no wealth or rights. That’s right, even our rights are intolerable. If you haven’t noticed that’s why the public education system is mediocre, or that the quality of health care will greatly diminish under the ACA, or that they refuse to require the labeling of GMO based food, and we could go on and on but you get my point. They simply don’t care about us, we are seen as disposable.
I think our society by and large has been successfully propagandized. For example; most believe the right to have an abortion, or gay/lesbian rights, or using coed bathrooms, and etc. are rights. I personally don’t care what people do, it’s none of my business and I don’t judge but those cited examples and others are not really rights for very good reasons. First of all; the government cannot bestow anyone with rights because rights are attained naturally already upon birth, it is not an act of government. Secondly; the government can legislate a “right” (which is actually a privilege) but it will never empower an individual because it cannot be used to challange government, it is not possible to oppose the prevasiveness and intrusivenes of big heavy-handed government with the type of rights they create. Does any thinking person believe the government would promote more rights to challenge it and therefore make it more difficult for them to control society? And lastly; What the government gives it can take away, whereas our constitutional rights can never legally be taken away though the government is striving to do just that. I recommend each and every person to peacefully live and fulfill their own purpose and destiny independent of any political system.

      45. The only ones that will lose something are the ones that have something to lose.

      46. I think the country has been on the wrong track since they remove prayer from school and the Ten Commandments.

Every time you kick God out, hell comes in for a visit.

What do you think about our situation now?

      47. Cut land line phone services to your home? Unbelievably horrible advice. Advice that one could expect might come a freaking moron who’s slept through the last decade and is clueless about the NSA illegal spying, monitoring, location tracking, hacking – all of which is being done to cell phones, you freaking imbecile. Cell phones have been the absolute worst and most dangerous technology that has ever been invented. I absolutely DESPISE cell phones and what they have done to harm our privacy and our freedom and to openly violate our 4th Amendment Constitutional rights. And, don’t be fooled, sheeple. You can bet the farm that the forces in our government who were behind pushing this technology on American citizens realized from the BEGINNING that they would be able to use them as though they had a lo-jack chip shoved up the ass of every citizen.

Over in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places in the Middle East – these predator drones are coordinating their targeting based on cellular phone signals. Turn your phone on, and its starts to ‘roam’ and searches for a cell tower – and bingo, some evil geek wearing cokebottle thick glasses who sits behind the computer console has your exact location within seconds, and with one click of his mouse – you’ve got a hellfire missile shot up your asshole.

This advice by Michael Snyder is the most irresponsible, mentally insane piece of advice that I think I have ever seen on any survivalist oriented website. This guy is trying to get you killed, at worst, and at best – he is pushing advice on people that will make it easier for Big Brother in Washington DC to track and monitor every place you go any hour of the day, assuming you have that despicably evil cell phone on your person.

        • Tucker the govt has been behind the development of the internet but no one bothers to be upset about that one, huh?

      48. Just heard a story about First Light CU put one time $100 limit on withdrawals due to computer glitch, that was yesterday and today it is still on. I think we will see more mini-bank holidays ahead.

      49. NOTE: This message has also been posted on “We’re going to need to go outside the law…to stop obeying the laws” article, especially for Braveheart, and Slingshot to peruse

        Good Day to all.
For California Girl and Redneck: I thank you both for your nice comments and your hospitality.
For Braveheart: Consider your foot not in your mouth with me, as everyone has made such mistakes in their lives. I suggest, Sir, that you focus your efforts and concentrations upon things of importance. I hate socialist, knee-jerk, liberals who claim to be Jews and do not follow Torah in any way, much more than you. I have read your comments the entire time you have been posting, Sir, with never a comment….until I could assure myself of commplete anonymity. Do you have this? Do you have a secure e-mail that cannot be compromised?
If the answers to those two comments were in the negative, I highly recommend redirecting your focus of concentration. You have a fine, analytical mind. Don’t waste your thoughts on things that do not matter.
You’re an American. Focus on that and how people act. Focus on service, to your country and countrymen. Focus on righteousness.
For Slingshot: Yes, what you are doing matters. You are not a “wannabe” or anything deserving a derisive moniker. You are a patriot, and an American. Continue to train.
So my question to all I have addressed herein, and all who read this site: do you want more?
If I have ten responses that bespeak sincerity and the desire to follow instructions borne of practical military experience and schooling….then I will give you what you need to start the ball rolling, so to speak. I’ll show you how to do it, here, in these sites.
One more thing. I state that we all have our “dark” sides to contend with to maintain dignity and seek after good.
Please do not misconstrue my openness and good intentions for weakness. I will fight to the death for any of my countrymen and my nation….but will not allow either of them to kill me.
And that other side of mine? It is far darker and more experienced than you can imagine.
Keep it civilized, stay focused, and be well. I await your responses.
        Snake

      50. Stop eating out:Don’t go to the movies:Stop getting manicures: Quit buying beef at the grocery store:Cancel all magazine/newspaper subscriptions:Cut DISH service to cheaper plan:
        MANICURES?? IN THIS ECONOMY?
They’re just now doing this? And they want MY sympathy?
I wish I had their money. Especially the money they’ve wasted over the years.

      51. America used to be a very good country. People don’t have to fear what is coming. Because what will happen in the future is in our hands. We just have to be mindful of it and make a move.
