They [The American People] fear for the future of our country. What they’re talking about is that they fear for our freedoms and they fear for the principles that formed this country and have always been the basis on which we’ve operated. I share that fear and I believe that they should be fearful.
And, I believe that the greatest fear that we all should have to our freedom comes from this room and what may happen later this week in terms of a tax increase bill masquerading as a health care bill.
I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country.
What’s more important to you? Security or freedom? How much freedom are you willing to give up to feel more ‘secure’ about your health care? And, do you feel more secure knowing that the government will be making your health care decisions for you?
This isn’t just about health care. It’s about a whole lot more. Once we let the government make our health care decisions for us, where will it stop?
- Will we have to go to the government to request to purchase a new home when only Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be lending money for mortgages?
- How about if we want to finance a car purchase and need to request lending facilities from government owned GM, Citi, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo?
- What if we want to eat healthy foods, and can’t get them from our local farmers anymore because of the Federal Food Police, and our only option is to buy from mega-food conglomerates like Monsanto?
- What about home schooling our children as opposed to forced government education?
- What if you’d rather use gas to power you car than solar energy or electricity? Will you have that right ten years from now?
Make no mistake. Once the government is allowed the power to control health care, or any other industry for that matter, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, for us to force them to release their grip.
It’s not the health care bill that is more dangerous to our freedoms than any terrorist. It is the unchecked attempts by government to mandate every aspect of our lives’.
Congresswoman Virginia Foxx must not have read the bill or she is just pandering to her base.
The bills being fashioned by the leadership in the House and Senate should be called the 2009 Health Insurance and Pharmaceutical Industry Protection Act. The bills are just another example of the Reagan-Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama age continuum of goverment by corrupt global criminal corporations.
It’s amazing how stupid people can be to believe that this fake reform is a government takeover of health care decisions and funding when in fact it is just another goverment giveaway to a corrupt health care industry.
We are supposed to ignore that Medicare has been a widely praised single payer program in the U.S. for over 40 years, where doctors make the decisions, the agency running Medicare is in a great bargaining position to keep costs low while operating at 3-5% overhead, compared to so-called “private” insurers who waste 25-35% of each health care dollar on massive marketing, CEO bonuses, and investor profits.
The myriad private plans for non-seniors cost hospitals and doctors an extradinary amount of wasted dollars in billing and plan contracting costs. The so called “public option” left in the plan is nothing like Medicare’s national scope, available to every senior. This so-called public option has been fashioned to fail as it is available to only 6-10% of us, it must negotiate with each provider, and will phase in over 4-5 years to make sure that it does not compete with the fat profits of private insuarnec companies that designed this pig of a bill.
The fact that this congresswoman is believed, that Fox News and other corrupt controlled political main stream media has viewers, that people believed Obama would be any different than Bush and those before him, show what a dumbed down Ameican Idol culture know nothing and be proud of it country we have become.
All very good points. Democrat and Republican, not a dime’s bit of difference on most issues of actual importance. Same policies, different guy at the helm.
Socialized medicine has been alive and well in America for a long time.

I do believe one of the main agendas is to centralize power with the federal government, but in addition, this is certainly another giveaway to yet another corrupt industry who has bought off our elected officials.

Yes, and a good indication of that is that an amendment passed last Summer to allow individual states to set up single payer systems was stripped out. Unfortunately state rights have been dead in the U.S. for a long time.

And this bill isn’t by any means helping the healthcare system, if what I have heard is correct. I read on a few places that this bill makes doctors that are at all trained in something treat ANYBODY in that field. For instance, if you go to med school and become a foot doctor, but happen to have some schooling on treating the flu and shit, then you are obligated by law to treat people with the common cold. Thus making any kind of specialist a regular general practitioner.
Though, I will be the first to admit that may be false information.
Maybe it is because she knows that there is no real terrorist threat. She knows that all acts of “terrorism” are perpetrated by Western and Israeli “security” services (e.g., MI6, CIA, Mossad, etc.) or their paid agents.
If there were real terrorists that threatened us, the FBI would not have any time to waste investigating Quakers and peace groups. If there were real terrorists, the US government would plug the pores in our southern border, through which over a million people a year pour into the US.
