In a chilling but unsurprising move, Communist China seeks ultimate control over the population by introducing a scorecard which will supposedly keep the public in check. The big brother system will monitor all citizens 24/7 and keep a “score” of their activities.
The Communist Party’s plan in China is for every one of its 1.4 billion citizens to be at the whim of a dystopian social credit system, and it’s on track to be fully operational by the year 2020. According to News.com.au, an active pilot program has already seen millions of people each assigned a score out of 800. Those people will either reap the benefits of having a high score or suffer the consequences of a low social score. Depending on which end of the scale they sit, their behavior could see them punished.
The data is combined with information collected from individuals’ government records, which include medical and educational, along with their financial and internet browsing histories. Overall scores can go up and down in “real time” dependant on the person’s behavior but they can also be affected by people they associate with. “If your best friend or your dad says something negative about the government, you’ll lose points too,” the ABC reports. The Chinese will be assumed guilty by association and no longer able to speak out about their own oppression.
Participation in the “social credit” system was first announced in 2014 and is mandatory. The government is attempting to control the actions of the public in a bid to reinforce the notion that “keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful,” according to a government document.
“If people keep their promises they can go anywhere in the world,” said Tianjin general manager Jie Cong. For Jie, it’s black and white with no grey area. “If people break their promises they won’t be able to move an inch!”
Penalties for a low score range from losing the right to travel by plane or train, social media account suspensions and being barred from government jobs, according to Business Insider. Chinese journalist Liu Hu is one of the millions who have already amassed a low social credit rating. Liu Hu was arrested, jailed and fined after he exposed official corruption. “The government regards me as an enemy,” Liu Hu told the ABC.

In Russia, those same political prisoners were beaten senseless, put in mental institutions, starved, and unless they ratted out random folks as “collaborators”, they might never leave. This meant an untold number of guilty by association folks who likely did nothing wrong whatsoever. And all of them might also be forcee to rat out innocents.

I wish it were that simple. When young Christians go to universities, and they are taught by extreme leftists in Humanities courses, then they are bombarded by propaganda. This 2017 film details a man from Finland who is forced to flee and end up in the USSR where he’s used as a propaganda tool. It shows the repression and details the forgotten story of some American Christians who went to Russia willingly and endee up being repressed, tortured, and executed.
There are more brutal depictions like Out of the Ice which is an older eighties film or miniseries about Russian-Americans who went to start automobile factories and ended up trapped there.
Everybody should see these films. If things went belly up here, something like re-education labor camps could happen here. The second one will make an impression on a young naive person. It’s right out of the Gulag Archipelago.

Wolyn (Hatred) 2016 is a film about WW2 and the effect of Ukrainians fighting their Polish immigrant neighbors and both suffering against the Nazis and the Russian Communists. They are all brutally annihilating each other using terror tactics to demoralize and break the enemy.
It’s very bleak and a wake up call to young Americans who are clueless about the abject misery that happens in war which is seldom discussed in history books. To me it’s almost required viewing as preppers have unrealistic expectations of how they would survive untouched in the midst of an onslaught of mayhem.

I’ve been saying this for some time. There is not much difference in what the Chinese are doing and what some employers are already doing in the US. Some employers in the US want to see your social media and e-mail activity before they will consider hiring you. Insurance companies may be improperly accessing your marketing and medical activity to check on your life style which may influence the cost of your insurance or even your ability to get insurance. If you have a low credit score your car insurance may be much higher. Mine was $400 per year higher than it should have been because I don’t borrow money. Finally found an insurance that wasn’t checking credit scores. Eventually marketers and the government will give us social scores also. Totalitarianism. Communism. Resist. Defeat it. Or it will crush you.
….and Google is facilitating the social media score as Google is developing the search engine software which uncovers these “social crimes in opposition to the State”.
