This article was written by Michael Snyder and originally published at his Economic Collapse Blog.

Editor’s Comment: This is happening nearly as rapidly in the United States too, and other parts of the world aren’t too far behind. The system is working overtime to phase in what will become a mandatory cashless grid. It will make the real economy into a black market, where anyone and everyone can be criminalized for making unauthorized transactions of all kinds. It will make tracking of all financial activities default, and it will give all the control to the institutions that operate the system.

The banks want a cashless society because all transactions must flow through them, and each piece of circulating cash represents money they aren’t investing and profiting from, as well as money that they aren’t charging deposit fees and fines upon. The system of money reflects the freedom of a nation, and while America has already suffered enough under the Federal Reserve notes system, the cashless grid stands to be even more oppressive and enslaving.

The Cashless Society Cometh: European Nations Such As Sweden And Denmark Are ‘Eradicating Cash’

    by Michael Snyder

Did you know that 95 percent of all retail sales in Sweden are cashless?  And did you know that the government of Denmark has a stated goal of “eradicating cash” by the year 2030?  All over the world, we are seeing a relentless march toward a cashless society, and nowhere is this more true than in northern Europe.  In Sweden, hundreds of bank branches no longer accept or dispense cash, and thousands of ATM machines have been permanently removed.  At this point, bills and coins only account for just 2 percent of the Swedish economy, and many stores no longer take cash at all.  The notion of a truly “cashless society” was once considered to be science fiction, but now we are being told that it is “inevitable”, and authorities insist that it will enable them to thwart criminals, terrorists, drug runners, money launderers and tax evaders.  But what will we give up in the process?

In Sweden, the transition to a cashless society is being enthusiastically embraced.  The following is an excerpt from a New York Times article that was published on Saturday…

Parishioners text tithes to their churches. Homeless street vendors carry mobile credit-card readers. Even the Abba Museum, despite being a shrine to the 1970s pop group that wrote “Money, Money, Money,” considers cash so last-century that it does not accept bills and coins.

Few places are tilting toward a cashless future as quickly as Sweden, which has become hooked on the convenience of paying by app and plastic.

To me, giving money in church electronically seems so bizarre.  But it is starting to happen here in the United States, and in Sweden some churches collect most of their tithes and offerings this way

During a recent Sunday service, the church’s bank account number was projected onto a large screen. Worshipers pulled out cellphones and tithed through an app called Swish, a payment system set up by Sweden’s biggest banks that is fast becoming a rival to cards.

Other congregants lined up at a special “Kollektomat” card machine, where they could transfer funds to various church operations. Last year, out of 20 million kronor in tithes collected, more than 85 percent came in by card or digital payment.

And of course it isn’t just Sweden that is rapidly transitioning to a cashless society.  Over in Denmark, government officials have a goal “to completely do away with paper money” by the year 2030

Sweden is not the only country interested in eradicating cash. Its neighbor, Denmark, is also making great strides to lessen the circulation of banknotes in the country.

Two decades ago, roughly 80 percent of Danish citizens relied on hard cash while shopping. Fast forward to today, that figure has dropped dramatically to 25 percent.

We’re interested in getting rid of cash,” said Matas IT Director Thomas Grane. “The handling, security and everything else is expensive; so, definitely we want to push digital payments, and that’s of course why we introduced mobile payments to help this process.”

Eventually, establishments may soon have the right to reject cash- a practice that is common in Sweden. Government officials have set a 2030 deadline to completely do away with paper money.

Could you imagine a world where you couldn’t use cash for anything?

This is the direction things are going – especially in Europe.

As I have written about previously, cash transactions of more than 2,500 euros have already been banned in Spain, and France and Italy have both banned all cash transactions of more than 1,000 euros.

Little by little, cash is being eradicated, and what we have seen so far is just the beginning.  417 billion cashless transactions were conducted in 2014, and the final number for 2015 is projected to be much higher.

Banks like this change, because it enables them to make more money due to the fees that they collect from credit cards and debit cards.  And governments like this change because electronic payments enable them to watch, track and monitor what we are all doing much more easily.

These days, very rarely does anyone object to what is happening.  Instead, most of us just seem to accept that this change is “inevitable”, and we are being assured that it will be for the better.  And no matter where in the world you go, the propaganda seems to be the same.  For example, the following comes from an Australian news source

AND so we prepare to turn the page to fresh year — 2016, a watershed year in which Australia will accelerate towards becoming a genuine cashless society.

The cashless society will be a new world free of $1 and $2 coins, or $5 or $10 bank notes. A new world in which all commercial transactions, from buying an i-pad or a hamburger to playing the poker machines, purchasing a newspaper, paying household bills or picking up the dry-cleaning, will be paid for electronically.

And in that same article the readers are told that Australia will likely be “a fully cashless society” by 2022…

Research by Westpac Bank predicts Australia will be a fully cashless society by 2022 — just six years away. Already half of all commercial payments are now made electronically.

Even in some of the poorest areas on the entire globe we are seeing a move toward a cashless society.  In 2015, banks in India made major progress on this front, and income tax rebates are being considered by the government as an incentive “to encourage people to move away from cash transactions“.

Would a truly cashless society reduce crime and make all of our lives much more efficient?

    Maybe.

But what would we have to give up?

To me, America is supposed to be a place where we can go where we want and do what we want without the government constantly monitoring us.  If people choose to use cashless forms of payment that is one thing, but if we are all required to go to such a system I fear that it could result in the loss of tremendous amounts of freedom and liberty.

And it is all too easy to imagine a world where a government-sponsored form of “identification” would be required to use any form of electronic payment.  This would give the government complete control over who could use “the system” and who could not.  The potential for various forms of coercion and tyranny in such a scenario is obvious.

What would you do if you could not buy, sell, get a job or open a bank account without proper “identification” someday?  What you simply give in to whatever the government was demanding of you at the time even if it went against your fundamental beliefs?

That is certainly something to think about.

Many will cheer as the world makes a rapid transition to a cashless society, but I will not.  I believe that a truly cashless system would open the door for great evil, and I don’t want any part of it.

    What about you?

Would you welcome a cashless society?

      1. No surprise here, Wasn’t this kinda foretold???

        • Michael Snyder: “What would you do if you could not buy, sell, get a job or open a bank account without proper “identification” someday?”

I’d say it’s yet another fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy, and if you don’t want to be a Hell-Bound piker, then it’s a great time to repent of your sins and submit to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

“And he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.” (Revelations 13:17 which is written many hundreds of years ago).

          • Free, out of the 3 “One World” gigs, I have always thought that money would be the first, because it would be the easiest.
Govt & religion are harder to change.

Something MAJOR will have to happen to change the mindset of billions of humans.

Just thinking outside the box, but if we were visited from an outside extraterrestrial entity, much would change in both arenas.

We would find out that we are just a small speck in the vast area we call the universe.

Maybe we would find the ‘true truth’…

            • I’ll just whip out my Jesus debit card 🙂 Question is, what are YOU gonna do?

              • G, till we know the true truth, all we can do is go with the flow for the time being.
I would like the world to get along together.

Seems to be a moot point in this span of time we are in.

                Yall behave…

                • Yes eppe we will have to go with the flow except for doing everything POSSIBLE to insure we are prepped and have a battle plan! I had enough shine the other night so I will behave (maybe) lol. As far as can we all get along, I think that as long as a lot of people are ignorant and don’t want to learn or look into things I would say the answer is NO. I know it would be great but mob rules (demonocracy) is not for me because I am not a herd thinker. I like to share my ideas and humor but people hate it when I call them on their shit. Theyre loss for not looking into things and good luck to them I hope their ignorance serves them well. I learn a lot of good stuff from a few people here and I encourage others to do the same. I do get carried away sometimes especially after havin a few. I just have a low tolerance for lying and stupidity. Your a good man eppe, I wish I had your patience lol 🙂

                  • G, we all have our own devils to contend with in this short span on this earth.
I have done more evil than most, I try to do better in this later half of my life.
Only to know the true truth would solve a multitude of questions…

                    • eppe, You and me both. You have no idea…. (no I haven’t killed anyone) yet lol.

                    • G, yes I do too…

To bad we did not grow up in the same hood…

Then again we did, just different hoods…

                    • (imagining all the trouble we’de be in) Its a miracle were alive!

                  • Genius, you sound like me and my family. Man, you would fit right in with our team. I’d even take in eppe, but I don’t have his patience, either.

                    • Braveheart1776

“Patience Hell, I’m gonna kill something” said the Vulture.

Life span? Lucky to live another five years and ten years would be really pushing it.

Watching some show about Nostradamus and his future predictions of an asteroid in 2047. Plus some other castastrophy in 2070 or so. Damn I’m going to miss all the fun.

              • Genius

                Sing the Plastic Jesus song?

                  • I think these guys are posters here lol.

                    • That was great! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

            • Eppe,

Most are cowards that won’t want to rock the boat. Just look at all of the free Amerikans who still think they live in the greatest country on the planet. A vast majority will put up as much resistance as a wet paper bag.

              • Kf, sad is it not???

              • People will always find ways around ‘the system’.

                • … so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark…

Thank God it’s not that time yet.

          • Michael Snyder: “What would you do if you could not buy, sell, get a job or open a bank account without proper “identification” someday?”

I’D SAY THAT DAY IS ALREADY HERE. YOU CAN’T DO TWO OUT OF THE FOUR LISTED WITHOUT ID RIGHT NOW.

        • Headlamps

It should be mounted on a headband with an additional strap passing over the top of your head. It should have two separate light clusters to fulfil flood and spot light functions. In addition, it should be able to produce both red and white light.

AA battery power and bright white LEDs is recommended over the AAA battery bluish white style lights. You cant see anything with bluish white light! If these companies actually field tested any of their products I would be amazed. Being stealthy is what the red light is for; you cant move through woods in the dark with red light either. Red light is for preserving night vision and for reading and such without attracting attention.

You should be using rechargeable batteries and have both receptacle and solar chargers.

The old fashioned miner’s carbide headlamps are excellent if you can find them sold anywhere.

          • A fellow from Argentina advised the same thing. He said that in the Argentina collapse power was out for many months.

A headlamp was needed to use during the night for short trips to the bathroom. He said lighting a candle was too much effort and wasted the candle as well as stunk up the room with smoke.

            • when it comes to headlamps
              spend a little extra
the ones you get from the big box stores are perfectly fine
except that the ones used by backpackers have battery life
              that is grossly superior
consider brands like Petzl,Black Diamond etc
              they do cost more
but this will be more than made up for in the GREATLY extended battery life
also consider a headlamp that includes a red led
this is great for night vision

              • Satori, thanks for the name brand drop. I use one (big box purchase) for when I catch up to the deer I wacked and the sun has gone to bed. Keeps my hands freed up for the knife work part and to keep from bumping into briars.

          • At the big box sporting goods store they have plastic ammo cases. Get one for 223, it stores AAA rechargeable batteries, and one for 308 ammo, it stores AA batteries. The batteries are in individual plastic compartments that protect the other batteries from contamination if one battery leaks. I do like NiMH batteries. They have huge capacity and new designs can hold a charge for up to a year.

I also like 18650 lithium batteries, these can be removed from dead laptop computer battery packs. Stand alone chargers, flashlights as well as extra batteries are available on Amazon. These typically are 3.7 volt, 5,000 milliamp hour rated batteries. That is a huge amount of power and some of the flashlights that work with these are among the brightest I’ve ever seen.

I live in an area with a long cold winter. Most batteries take a nap if the temperature goes below freezing. Alkaline, nickel cadmium (ni-cad), or nickel metal hydride (nimh) are all temperature sensitive, and loose capacity quickly as temperatures drop. Lithium batteries are rated down to -40F. There are special Ni-Cad batteries you can get at hardware stores for outdoor solar lights that work down to 0F. Point is if it’s a piece of survival gear and if you’ll ever need it to work in the cold, have some lithium batteries in your supplies. Disposable lithium batteries also have a huge shelf life, 10 to 20 years.

Flashlights that attach to firearms Picatinny rail are a cool tool. If there’s a noise in the house, I grab one item and I’m ready. They sell multi-mode lights that are dim, bright and strobe. Don’t fall for it, just get a light that turns on and off that is bright. You don’t need complicated just at the moment things get complicated. Even a minor concern, distraction, bit of confusion at the wrong moment could result in you or an innocent dying. The light should also be quickly removable with one hand. Attackers will fixate on the light. If needed you can remove and hold it well away to the side with your weak hand, or just set it on a table/ hook it on a lamp shade, in a room pointed at the door. If someone bursts in they will usually fixate on the light. You’ll have time to react and stop the threat. My light runs on lithium batteries, I test it often and have several spare batteries. Do not bring the light to the range for practice, repeated exposure to recoil can break these lights. They should hold up when you need it, but don’t beat it up unnecessarily.

          • I buy mine from Cabellas, are small, AAA batteries, LED with two intensity levels, in red and white light, the red is good for reducing visible glare and for preserving your night vision.
Get it, got it, good to go

          • Acid ~ I have found headlamps very useful even in ordinary times, and of course they would be 100x more useful in a long-term crisis. The best example for current use is changing a tire at night, in the rain. Picture attempting to juggle a flashlight versus wearing a headlamp.

One caveat that I will add is this: if possible, test the switching button before you buy. My first headlamp was an ‘Energizer’ brand; after taking it out of the package, I discovered that when you switch from off/low/high/red, each press of the button makes a very loud click. And the package shows this thing being used by a hunter, no less! I called Customer Service to gripe about this and they mailed me a full refund. I dunno if they ever modified the design, though.

        • VA legislature proposes a bill to disarm the anti-gun governor’s security detail.

        • Yupp….. The goyim (cattle) will be ear micro-chipped next…

        • The mark of the beast will be the debit and credit cards when the dollar is done away with…….more ways for the government to monitor what you spend your money on and how much goes into your bank account.. think about it the American people must stand their ground and use cash more and stop using the debit and credit cards the only ones making money are the banks…THINK ABOUT IT..

      2. And once cash is gone, the banks can then say what you can spend YOUR money on. Some banks are already banning the use of their cards for arms and ammo, just like porn. If they are against it, you can’t use your account to buy it. One more layer of control by TPTB.

        • It will put a stop to the alternate economy.

        • Hell, cash is definitely being eradicated in my house hold every day as it is.

      3. Berkeley would lose its “got any spare change?” culture!

      4. Berkeley would lose its “got spare change” culture!

        • Got any spare gift cards?

          • Can I scan a buck? lol

      5. Stupid Sheeple…. And we lost our nation when the liberals took over the education system.

        • Stupid Sheeple is right.

Snyder says….”Would a truly cashless society reduce crime and make all of our lives much more efficient?…Maybe.”

          Are you kidding me, really?

Then all transactions will be limited and controlled by the Controllers. However; they will not have anyone to scrutinize their transactions and there will be plenty of drug and crime laden transactions going on, but only by the Controllers.
Remember they answer to no one except Satan.

        • Stan how true, we can’t blame the Government or Anyone but the Stupid Sheeple that use everything but cash! Trekker Out. Semper Paratus!

          • I have talked to three local banks here about this refusing cash so far and they never heard of it.

            • I won’t go as far as to say refuse cash, but BOA is at least making it as hard as they can for you to do so. In my area of Florida, they have closed all of the drive up windows and reduced the inside tellers to one or two at most. If you want to make a deposit, you now use an automatic teller or stand in line for an hour to cash a check. Since a huge percentage of the local workers do not have the option of direct deposit, the lines can be out the door on certain days.

            • Recently I reviewed a statement from a local bank they have closed on Saturday there by making you use the ATM. They have also required more holding days for large withdrawals and deposits from other banks or people one transaction has been set to 10 working days.
Once cash is removed from the American people we will be at the mercy of the banks and government control on what can be purchased. Another lost freedom in America. PEOPLE PLEASE CONTINUE TO USE CASH ITS THE AMERICAN WAY.

        • The Bilderberg Group are liberals? George Bush no child left behind turned schools into war zones. Right wing supports Israel. Go for the control not the victims. Of course victims are sitting ducks and not scary.

        • Very true, Stan. The Frankfurt school had this all as part of their plan

      6. Yeah and those Swedes one day will get urging from the parish that they won’t need the phone app to tithe. Just roll up your sleeve and accept this number tattoo and you can leave your phones home or in your car. And taxes, we’ll take care of that and deduct it from your bank account (or place of employment). If we make a mistake and take too much, not to worry, it might take six months but we’ll get it back to you.

        • Better yet just send us your check and we will give you what is left. Not too far fetched. I think it was in 2010 that the UK proposed just such a thing. All pay checks would have to be sent to the government and they would then pay the worker, after they took out their part. That way they could insure that they got paid first and if there was any left, you could have it.

          • Automatic Draft Payments accepted and required. aka the beast system.

            Working for the Beast
Doesn’t bother me in the least

            Got my dues paid
So just concerned about gettin’ laid.

Her tits are a little droopy
and her ass has got a sag,

But I still have enough stiffly charm
so I don’t settle for an old hag.

            • Damn, and I thought my poems sucked lol.

        • Even worse… in 1929 if your money was in a bank that failed, it disappeared. The Republicans just pushed through a $30 trillion bailout for a new bailout. All money will disappear into the bankster maw. Forced to use banks. Some municipalities are creating their own currency.

      7. The intent is to track everything you earn or spend – why – because it lets the government tax it! Any country that is $20 trillion in the red is going to squeeze out every tax dollar it can find. And expect things like taxes on any benefits (like healthcare) that ‘exceed’ some government established minimum or maximum.

        • Got that one right NM!!

      8. Fucking pricks.

      9. ‘Cash Is Being Eradicated’: Digital Payments Take Over Western World

How dare they attack my personal stash of toilet paper!
Who in the hell do these people think they are?

        • I don’t see how a country can go cashless.

There is a culture of a sub economy in America.

Pawn shops, check cashing places, car title loans, payday lenders, rent to own appliances, laundry mats, etc.

Most people that use these type of business don’t have a bank account. A lot of people don’t have bank accounts because of bad credit.

          • Dave Ramsey talks about being ‘unbanked’ as though its a bad thing.

        • You know ftw, you bring up a good point. If they monitor what we buy, they’ll monitor what we don’t buy, and ask why.

          • This is true. I have a garden and my grocery bill drops dramatically in the summer. I will expand it next summer and be back to eating from my garden through the winter also.

      10. You can’t eliminate cash, because there are so many transactions done person to person. Take yard sales for example. I don’t think they can shut down or control the types of interpersonal transactions. People will just shift to local scripts, Paypal like services, or Bitcoin. Barter is another option, I’ll give you ten Avocados for one box of fifty 22 LR. I’ll wire your newly acquired generator into your house for 10 Kilos of Kailua pork. One cord of Ironwood for that rusty 10.22 rifle. Only highly interdependent city folk without access to natural resources and farms can be made to go cashless. I don’t give a damn about them. This “Country boy will survive”.

        • I hear tell that in Louisiana, you need to purchase a permit and charge state sales tax at your yard sale.

          • and if a little kid-no lemonade stands!!!!

            • police would shut them down anyway.

          • And no cash can be used. This is why I don’t like Bobby Jindle.

            • You will have to have a smart fone with a transaction app. and if you can’t afford one the govt. will provide one. Like you say, barter will be the new currency except for the sheep that have nothing to barter thats worth a shit. Silver dimes I’m tellin ya 😉

          • and the kicker is Louisiana has a supposedly “conservative”
governor who is quite the Bible thumper

            WTF ???

people who are still locked in to the right vs. left way of thinking need to wake the F_CK up

        • Ill trade you one pound poi for 1/2 pound poke,
          Or 1 pound Pohole

      11. But, but what my Iraqi dinar!!

      12. Guys,

They do not have to eliminate cash. There is absolutely no law here in the US that requires businesses to accept cash. Years ago Wholefoods stopped accepting personal checks.

Here is the link right from the Federal Reserve.

Is it legal for a business in the United States to refuse cash as a form of payment?

        http://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/currency_12772.htm

        • But doing so will definately hurt their bottom line. See how many stop accepting cash and then see how long they last if that is the case.

      13. Guys,

They do not have to do away with cash. Businesses can REFUSE to accept cash.

Here is the information right from the federal reserve.

          Who knew?

          Now I do. 🙂

Is it legal for a business in the United States to refuse cash as a form of payment?

        http://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/currency_12772.htm

      15. TPTB may very well eliminate cash. Good luck eliminating silver and gold. Lots of products to buy from grams to ounces to kilos. Some PMs are bullion and minted by a country while others are hand-poured or stamped with various types of art. Skulls and flags are popular motifs. So are silver bullets. Call them collectibles if you want. Call it jewelry. But in the end, when the paper or digits are worthless, it will get you what you want and is a medium of exchange.

      16. Would you welcome a cashless society?

        thinkin’ ’bout it.

It could be the footsteps of the Savior.
        He comes closer each day.

Re 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

      17. Like i posted a week or so ago how i went past sprint to pay my bill with cash and they were going to charge me 3 bucks just to pay with cash but debit or charge card they did not charge a fee i thought for a second may be just to conpinsate them for the time it takes to fill out a deposit slip but no they sell phone accessories also so its not that they are just pushing for cashless society

      18. Sooner or later be wipeing my ass with either dollarbills and or their bill

        • Or swiping your ass with your cellphone.

          • I suggest wiping your ass with sprint cell service. Get a better phone man!

            • Might as well set it on vibrate while wiping.

      19. I don’t want to start an argument, but you guys that think these attacks on us can’t come to fruition, are wrong.

Everyone here thinks too short term. This takeover of rights in our once free society has been going on for decades, maybe centuries. We are on the precipice. With the dumbing down and pushing of dependency, this will happen in one more generation.

We must reverse the degenerative education system and also remove the useless government employees that keep stabbing us in the back or we are doomed.
        molon labe

        • One more generation WIp? I don’t think we’ve got that much time. If I ain’t dead by then I’d be one old nasty bastard.

          • Let’s start a pissed off nasty old bastard club eh? lol 😛

            • Genius…Can I get an application to the club?

              • Hell ya, just say the word and yer in!

            • LMAO! You should see me when I get likkered up.

            • You can be the poster boy, lol.

          • If you look at all collapse scenarios played though out history it always looks like a hockey stick on the chart.

A steady incline with a sharp hockey stick type acceleration leading into collapse.

        • Obama just gave the education system back to the states.

      20. So what’s the big deal with a cashless society? How many centuries did we go without using cash? With proper preps, you will be better off with a cashless society. Mankind will adapt and survive just like it always has. Actually, looking at it long term, civilization will be better off, due to the fact that the individual will have to become skilled in something useful to survive. If you have something to offer, you have something to trade for whatever you may need. Screw the government!

      21. Why WWIII Is On The Horizon — Paul Craig Roberts

        ht tp://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015…craig-roberts/

“The events of September 11, 2001, are regarded by informed people as “the new Pearl harbor” that the neoconservatives said was necessary in order to begin their wars of conquest in the Middle East. Paul O’Neil, President George W. Bush’s first Treasury Secretary, has stated pubicly that the agenda of President Bush’s first meeting with his cabinet was the invasion of Iraq. This invasion was planned prior to 9/11. Since 9/11 Washington has destroyed in whole or part eight countries and now confronts Russia both in Syria and Ukraine.”

        • Just be thankful your not some young kid with retarded parents and a retard yourself that is going to be conscripted into said war to fight for the ziofascists. I wonder if they will let them keep their Iphones? Maybe I can make a catapult that launches land whales I captured from the grocery store, that would make a bad assed SPLAT! Let the culling begin lol…

      22. Some may accept this as inevitable and go along but I don’t like people in so-called expert or authority positions making decisions for me. The few have been allowed to make decisions for the majority and now just about every aspect of life is on the brink of disaster.

      23. … “I killed the banks.”

… Andrew Jackson temporarily kicked the foreign
Banks out of America. For sixty years America was
Free of Foreign domination of our money system.
An attempt was made on his life as was an attempt made
on the the life of Actor and American Ronald Reagan
when he stepped out of line. Eventually Reagan was
poisoned via aspartame(rat poison). Kennedy, Lincoln,
and the Bankers disagreed as to America’s right to
issue it’s own currency. The threat to the Banks monopoly
ended with a bang. If Jackson had killed the bankers not
just killed the banks, the Cancer would not have returned.
The public is becoming aware of the criminal nature of
the banking establishment. Soon the Banksters will be
deposed and America will prosper. Not only will the bankers
Fail to implement a cashless society, they will cause their own
downfall by attempting this arrogant agenda.

      24. Prep tip,
Honey stores darn near forever and you’ll need sugar in some form as a long term item.

Another, fruit cakes on sale now with the holidays are widely available and I’ve read will store “forever”. Although high in sugar, they do contain nuts and fruit and can serve as another source of quick energy and morale booster.

****To me, most important for your prep supplies: caffeine tablets, NO Doze, or store generic brand.
Our current bottle is 200mg. and sometimes a half of one will do.
You might need to stay awake on guard all night sometime and coffee doesn’t always work.
If your life depends on staying awake and alert, (rifle at the ready) caffeine tabs are your best friend.

        • Now there’s some good advice Ketchup! Coffee takes a lot of space and cooking and depletes you of water. Honey makes mead too 🙂 I personally store over 250lbs. of sugar (also has no expiration). The dollar store has cheap caffiene tabs I need to get a bunch. Fruitcake? Damn man, that’s pretty desperate lol. If fruitcake is a prep item, there are a lot of prepped grannies!

          • This granny does not eat fruitcake. My mama did. Uck. 250 pounds of sugar? A lot. I use about 25 pounds a year but… have been recalculate for the hooch production. Bees next spring… 1-3 hives. I love honey and will try mead. Since I don’t drink… not sure why I want to make alcohol, but I do. I found a simple recipe for making fruit vinegar, too. No weird chemicals.

          • Yeah, Genius, there’s no fruitcake in our preps.
First time I brought one home wife said, “wth is that for?” (she doesn’t like cake of any kind)…With all the sugar in them they’ll prolly do more harm than good. But as a morale booster…
ever read the true story of crocodile dundee? When he found a bee hive with honey? Gorged himself.
But she doesn’t mind when I bring home another quart of local honey.

        • I use fruit cakes as a lethal weapon. Just hit someone on the head with a Christmas fruit cake and knock them out cold.

          • Always have been a lot of jokes about fruit cakes, but a friend just gave me a box full of candy and the fruit cake was the best item in there. Trekker Out. Bringem On!

        • Yaupon is the only plant native to the US that contains caffeine. You can make tea from the leaves and tender stem ends. Once established, they will grow like weeds with no care necessary. I have some over 10 feet tall. I will be transplanting some smaller ones to other areas in the coming year. They look a lot like privet hedge, so they aren’t noticed much. The leaves are a little darker, and the stems are a little whiter.

Yaupon gives you a lifetime supply of caffeine. Just don’t drink too much at one time, or you’ll barf.

          • Arch, ilex vomitex.
Native americans boiled this up and drank it. Then in the sauna. So much caffene they would purge. (puke). Cleaned up the insides of your body.
            Nice landscape plant also…

            • But can you smoke it?

              • Good idea.
Maybe a few limbs on the sauna, hell of a buzz. Get dizzy, step out.

But they could throw cannabis on and really float away…

                • Eat peyote

                  • Or eat 2 aguave worms and a quart of mescal.

Was not one of my better nights, for what I remember…

                    • It’s a wonder you lived thru that!

                    • B55, one of many different flavors…

            • What about Mormon tea? That plant has a stimulant, epinephrine. Similar effect. Also native plant to North America. If you live where it is hot and dry.

          • For tea replacement use our mountain native Potentilla fruticosa, cinquefoil. It is available at nurseries. Although we drink imported tea, our Potentilla is grown in colder areas as their main tea plant. I planted two this spring, being partial to tea more than vomiting! I did have Yaupon Holly in my Texas garden.

          • They grow wild around here. There are a bunch under my pines that I am shaping gradually for landscape purposes. The next pruning occurs after the net lights come off:)

      25. Jag prata en liten gran på svenska, have Swedish blood, worked for a Swedish company, and been in Sweden multiple times.

All this being said, I will say that Sweden has also been one of the more stupid nations in the world.

Letting Nazis pass through by train to occupied Norway in WWII? Ingen problem. Turning southern Sweden into Mecca North? Why sure! Imprisoning pastor Åke Green for simply reading passage from the book of Romans stating homosexuality is not the way God intended things? What’s next? Putting a 666 on every transaction? Rev. 13:17 talks about this exact thing: “…so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.”

Of course, leftists worship at the Shrine of Al Gore and the Temple of BIG GREEN MONEY Global Warming, so no problems there.

      26. It is written blah blah none of this shit surprises me at all. In this world there is banks corporations and gov the gov decides how much of your $ they want to let the other two control because you and I will die someday and not need $ anymore. The state is the default for all $.

      27. The Odds Are Never In Your Favor

        h ttp://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-12-28/odds-are-never-your-favor

“Don’t be a slave to debt. Live beneath your means and accumulate some physical silver and gold. Don’t vote for candidates selected by the vested interests. Spread the message of liberty and freedom to anyone who will listen. Support the alternative media and send pertinent articles to family, friends and acquaintances. Think critically. Do not trust your government. Prepare for the inevitable collapse of this rotten, fetid, corrupt paradigm. Hope, love, courage, and persistence will ultimately win. The tide is turning. Panem will fall. What replaces the existing social order will be up to us.”

take some time and read the entire article

        • Been doin that fer 20 years 🙂

      28. that will all work till the next major blackout and nothing can be bought.

      29. I’ve told this before, but the local J.C. Penney (gone now) wouldn’t take cash for a catalog order. So I stepped over to the next cash register and paid cash for a gift card for the exact amount of money necessary for the order. Then I stepped back over to the first cash register and placed my order using the gift card.

        • The genius of it all lol.

      30. Doomsday Preppers is no longer on Nat Geo Channel. Strange that there has been no word on why the series was canceled. They don’t even play reruns. Does anyone else find this very, very strange? The fact that no one is saying anything about Doomsday Preppers tells me something is us. My guess is some bureaucrat convinced Nat Geo Channel that the show was “unhealthy.”

      31. Bjs wholesale club won’t take cash for gasoline purchases. Gotta say debt is for suckers I’d rather go without before being a sucker. I’ve missed out in some good deals because I’m in no hurry to spend$ but have scored some good deals being a holdout. So many fools spend to their credit limit women especially. Then they are a slave to their work to just make minimum payments. Bunch of schlepps this is why I don’t envy people who have it all they end up in bankruptcy eventually.

      32. There’s nothing wrong with a cashless society – the problem is more human as usual in that the power and money hungry idiots ruining our world want it to lord it over everyone. We need to get at the root cause of our world problems and that’s the current leadership. They need to go and we need to help them go quicker!

      33. What’s in your wallet?

        • moths..

          • …and a echo.

      34. The reality is they’ve got us. All it took to take over the german people was a little bit of propaganda, if the people defeat themselves from within they are easily taken over. In the age of the internet, we’ve gained the ability to comment at a moment’s notice whatever the **** we feel like saying, and to completely disregard who might read it. That ability is coming to an end. Here’s the part of this argument that most people won’t accept. The only thing that can save the people from the hands of tyranny is themselves. Eventually, the timeline will choose a winner from the groups of people on the earth, as politicians have shown themselves an equal and sometimes better opponent to those who seek liberty. You’ve got the fattest, most spoiled nation in the history of the world (which some can’t see, and it’s absolutely disgusting) literally henpecking whatever is thrown out at your local mcdonalds, and in the past wisdom was rewarded. If a people were strong enough to throw off the yolk of tyranny and beat the **** out of whoever was screwing their wenches, they did it. And here’s another thing. I bet 99% of the American public would rather cuckold than go toe to toe with an african american con. You know that perfect prison and military system, that we’re constantly brainwashed about through a steady 25% of tv shows currently being watched that is oh so appropriate, and completely free of the stain of corruption? Guess what. African Americans are stronger, prouder, and more than equal to whites (I’m actually betting on the African Americans). Not that I’m black. Basically whatever status quo there is today, when people hear about the starvation and death that’s coming their way, the popular subject on zh will be hillary or omalley.

      35. Electronic systems ‘killed’…no transactions (no digital money), no food-stamp cards…system collapses.

        • Hahaha China mart lobbied against food stamps and for more corporate welfare. Food stamps were cut and they haven’t made a decent profit since. It is a tangled web they weave.

      36. Most companies here pay employees who do not have bank accounts with pay cards. Cash is not an option unless you are doing lawn or odd jobs.

      37. I generally prefer to pay for things like automobile repairs with a personal check, from a local banking institution.

Over the last year, I have encountered two repair shops who told me that they no longer accept personal checks as payment. One of these places relented, after I told them that I did not have any cash on my person to pay for the repairs and that I refused to let them force me into using a credit card. The other repair shop told me over the phone in advance of my visit, so I had the opportunity to bring a sufficient amount of cash with me to cover the cost of the repair.

I immediately recognized this new practice as being extremely nefarious. Unless I am mistaken, companies who accept credit cards have to pay a fee that used to be about 3% as a surcharge on every credit card transaction. This surcharge is supposed to cover the cost of the business being able to tap into, and have access to, the credit card verification system – which helps the business verify that a credit card is valid and also has not reached it’s maximum charge limit.

So, my first question was this: How can it be possible for a business to prefer to pay the 3% or whatever the cost is now – than to go through the process of accepting a personal check on a local bank? Has the cost of processing personal checks been deliberately and maliciously jacked up as a devious means of coercing businesses to force their customers to use credit cards, which they then have to then pay INTEREST on any unpaid balances?

And, we all know the identity of the tribe of blood sucking vampires who collect that usury, do we not?

As the article clearly points out – the banker vampires LOVE the idea of abolishing cash, because they can then collect fees and interest (usury) on literally EVERY purchase that is made on ANY item, no matter how trivial.

The goyim would not be able to buy a pack of gum or a soda pop – without using a plastic card, and then that purchase would automatically generate a transaction charge or, at a minimum, would increase the outstanding balance on the card – which would very quickly become nearly impossible for people to pay off soon enough to avoid the interest charges. Oh, and if these vampires ever do manage to abolish cash – the very next thing we can expect these bloodsucking bastards to do is to reduce or totally eliminate any grace period, which would effectively prevent the goyim from being able to avoid paying interest on their balance.

        • Tucker: Time to Call Orkin and tell them to send the…Big Truck! To Rid all societies of the Vermin infestation which has totally hijacked all that matters within said societies.

It may also be a good time for whites to switch gears, and finally make Honest people out of these various minority groups..And the best method whites can do is to instead of acting sheepishly full of whitey-Guilt, and provideing endless apologies or excuses every time whitey is called a rayssis or antisemite or hate monger or nazi or skin head seperatist…

Is to switch gears and begin to Act like the absolute worst ever Rayssis and antisemite and hater and ass kicking white man or women that those minority groups has ever dreamed of or feared of..

By doing this it will mark first time in history those whinney crying race baiter minoritys can actually be called Honest folk…

Good example is say next time some ape monky black savage begins crying of white rayssim, ok, then hows about the closest white man near the savage smacks him hard as he can and says fuck you savage ape!

Or some new york bolshie kommie bitch whines and calls a white person an evil nazi antisemite, again…Hows about besides a swift punch to the bitches face she also hears whitey tell her to back off or we start building Real camps or gas chambers eh.

After 40+ years of whitey bashing that has resulted in vast portions of white america becoming such idiotic guilted pacifists and accepting it all, it is high time to put a stop to it all…And Nothing will halt it faster than if white folk actually do go all out rayssis and antisemitic etc on said minority groups to make Honest claims out of their prior False claims the past 40+ years now.

Like Incogman says always..All You Whiteys that seek and speak truth are going to get labeled and called rayssis and antisemite nazi haters no matter What you do now..So, You may as well Go All Out!

Help Make America, #110 and never Again!

          • Now ya better watch out which white women you try to kick around or you might just lose the family jewels you are so proud of.

      38. Promises promises

It’s gonna take something monumental , these fence sitters are fuckin glued in place

        • Most will never get off the fence. It never happens. The Revolutionary war was fought bya minority with a majority in favor of the king and the rest fence sitters. The Revolutionary soldiers had more to worry about from the loyalists than the redcoats.

      39. US Military bases in combat zones operated with Script not USD for currency. As the back market acquired more and more Script it would periodically be announced that the current form would not be honored on a certain date.

With the above in mind the USD looses a substantial amount of its world currency status and the value of the USD falls as dollars held overseas get spent before their value drops. The flood of currency within the US domestic market then becomes the reason to issue new currency. Naturally one would have to account for the taxes paid on the former currency and prove that it was 100% legal acquired. If one cannot do both to the satisfaction of the authorities the funds would be confiscated without any compensation with possible criminal charges.

People are left holding small, yet quite ornate and beautiful pieces of art work suitable for framing.

They decide what is and isn’t currency.

        • Kevin2: but if over seas us dollars get rapidly spent as you said…Why or how does it equate into those dollars comming to here in usa?…It if spent there over seas nations would remain there to get spent again by next dollar holder who just recieved dollars by selling stuff.

So I think what you said is a bit flawed thinking eh?

I think it is a huge falsehood idea created by or from the past 15 years or longer of so many online articles that claim america is On the BRINK! of an Imidiate Wiemer germany type Hyper inflation event like no others yet.

With Fed money printing as the reason/culprit…

But they are wrong, for unless First american citizens get wheel barrows full of cash on hand to pay such high prices for a loaf of bread as done in germany 1920-30, no such hyper event can Ever happen period.

Plus just as was prior done by, was it Nixon? did it, the fed govnt in usa Can and Has already prior done a wage and price freeze event…Or just a price Freeze upon ALL store bought goods and services…Which will fully Cancel Out any potential Hyper inflation event from ever occureing here.

Plus I do not believe we shall Ever see the fed govnt here start passing out such wheel barrows full of cash to average citizens, so it is all falsehood fear monger nonsense at best, and likley the reason that even after constant daily fear based articles of hyper inflation events could happen any moment now has all been wrong for so long.

The real Goal is exact Opposite for average citizens here. It is rather the goal to create massive numbers of Very Poor folks nationwide…And such poor no cash available type peoples can never create a hyper inflation event period.

And when you think about these issues..Most everything written the past 15 years or so now online has in some way revolved around this falsehood idea and senseless fear based articles on it all…Maybe Thats why it aint yet happened and aint going to probably.

        • Wow.

      40. TPTB wants to go to digital so they can control your money. If you have cash you control it.

Its all about control. We have it and they want it. TPTB can not only control it, but they can crash it and steal it from you. As I always say you don’t have it in your hand you don’t have it. Possession is 9/10 of the law!!!!

Silver and Gold. Gold and Silver!!! Brass and Lead. Lead and Brass!!!

        Sgt.

        • Buy junk (pre-1965 coins) silver. This is in reach for everybody.

VERY roughly speaking, a gallon of gas cost a silver quarter and dime in 1970. Obviously gas and silver fluctuate, but VERY approximately, the same is true today.

The paper shorting with silver will end one day.

Jim Rickards – who was lead counsel at LTCM, and does financial war games with the Pentagon, things we could a.) see societal breakdown or b.) return to some kind of gold standard, or c.) turning to SDRs for things like oil, international payments, etc – which would be inflationary! or d.) one other option which I can’t recall right now.

Further, if there is a CME or EMP, you would be well advised to have at least a portion of your savings outside the electronic system.

Maybe Ted Cruz will be elected (yes, that’s right, I am indeed a Cruz supporter. And no, his is NOT perfect. Neither would YOU be, if you were running. And neither was Reagan – so don’t give me this cynical, obscurantist horse manure about not voting for anyone, as that means Hitlery will end up in power); maybe things will get better. I don’t have a crystal ball. But I DO know that a culture that is MORALLY (can anyone say “partial birth abortion?”) rotten from the inside is going to have serious issues of some sort. So make your plans accordingly.

          • Cruz was born in Canada. His candidacy is unconstitutional.
