While most of the general population has been lulled into a false sense of security, bankers and tech executives are spending millions upon millions of dollars to prepare for the collapse of society. Do they know something that the rest of us do not? Apparently talk of doomsday scenarios has become very popular at Silicon Valley dinner parties, and as you will see below, having a plan to escape to New Zealand appears to be a very popular “Plan B” among the tech elite. Of course this is not just a west coast phenomenon. Many bankers on the east coast have similar concerns and have also been developing contingency plans. Ladies and gentlemen, they know what is coming and they are feverishly getting prepared for it. In fact, J.P. Morgan Chase’s head quant just publicly declared that the next financial crisis is going to result in “social unrest not seen in the U.S. in half a century”. The following comes from CNBC…

That’s how J.P. Morgan Chase‘s head quant, Marko Kolanovic, envisions the next financial crisis. The forces that have transformed markets in the last decade, namely the rise of computerized trading and passive investing, are setting up conditions for potentially violent moves once the current bull market ends, according to a report from Kolanovic sent to the bank’s clients on Tuesday. His note is part of a 168-page mega-report, written for the 10th anniversary of the 2008 financial crisis, with perspectives from 48 of the bank’s analysts and economists.

Today, the internet and social media are helping to polarize groups, and events including the U.S. election and Brexit show tensions that will probably worsen in the next crisis, he said.
When society begins to come apart at the seams, many among the elite do not plan to stick around for the day of reckoning.
A Bloomberg article that was just published entitled “The Super Rich of Silicon Valley Have a Doomsday Escape Plan” has some amazing revelations. According to the article, over the past two years seven “Silicon Valley entrepreneurs” have purchased survival bunkers from a company in Texas and shipped them to locations in New Zealand…
In recent months, two 150-ton survival bunkers journeyed by land and sea from a Texas warehouse to the shores of New Zealand, where they’re buried 11 feet underground.
Seven Silicon Valley entrepreneurs have purchased bunkers from Rising S Co. and planted them in New Zealand in the past two years, said Gary Lynch, the manufacturer’s general manager. At the first sign of an apocalypse — nuclear war, a killer germ, a French Revolution-style uprising targeting the 1 percent — the Californians plan to hop on a private jet and hunker down, he said.
It would be weird enough if one wealthy individual did this, but the count is now up to seven.
So why have they chosen New Zealand?
Well, it is because New Zealand doesn’t have any enemies, English is spoken there, it is very stable, and it is very far away from everything else.
Plus, the country allows wealthy individuals “to essentially buy residency”…
The nation allows emigres to essentially buy residency through investor visas, and rich Americans have poured a fortune into the country, often by acquiring palatial estates.
Billionaire hedge-fund honcho Julian Robertson owns a lodge overlooking Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, the South Island’s luxury resort destination. Fidelity National Financial Inc. Chairman Bill Foley has a homestead in the Wairarapa region, north of Wellington, and Titanic director James Cameron bought a mansion nearby at Lake Pounui.
There has been a significant exodus of wealthy Americans to New Zealand in recent years, and once things start getting really bad there will be a steady stream of private jets taking off from locations in the U.S. and landing in that beautiful nation.
Of course not everyone plans to leave. Luxury survival bunkers are also being constructed all over the heartland of America, but they aren’t cheap.
For example, it was being reported that a “penthouse” inside the Survival Condo in Kansas was selling for more than four million dollars…
Another shelter for the ultra-wealthy is the Survival Condo in Kansas.
It was designed to withstand a nuclear blast or nature’s worst, but is far cry from what you might expect an underground shelter to look like.
There is a cinema, a swimming pool with a water slide, a spa, a lounge, a gym and an indoor shooting range to keep occupants entertained.
But survival comes at a price.
Last year, it was reported that plush 3,600sq ft penthouses within the shelter – a former missile silo – were selling for $4.5m (£3.6m).
Needless to say, anyone outside of the top 1 percent is not going to make it into the Survival Condo.
And in order to keep the rest of us out, it has an armory that is “stocked with guns and ammo”…
Additionally, an armory stocked with guns and ammo is in place in case of an attack by non-members, and is also available for owners to practice.
The bunker is able to sustain its owners for up to five years, by raising tilapia in fish tanks and growing hydroponic vegetables under lamps.
The elite can see what so many of the rest of us can also see.
Our future looks very troubling, and it appears to be wise to get prepared for what is coming in advance.
Unfortunately, the rest of us don’t have the money to buy a luxury survival bunker or to fly to New Zealand on a private jet. Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it can buy a pretty good escape plan.

A “societal collapse” is not coming, unless there is WW III, an EMP, Yellowstone blowing and/or major earth changes in California along the San Andreas, New Madrid, or NYC; which has potential for a 9.0.

IMO, one among many and one stemming only from my POV, the coming collapse of society and America as a nation is more likely to result from our growing “diversity” than a simple economic crisis.
It would be far easier to prepare for an economically induced collapse than a diversity induced one. One would be difficult but temporary, the other catastrophic and permanent.

Money can’t buy you knowledge skills physical fitness or mental preparedness for the horrors after a collapse. It doesn’t by you loyal friends or family to watch out for you when your eyes are closed in sickness and sleep. If they don’t have the skills and knowledge to grow food, prepare food purify water or physical ability to do so… They are. Spending money for what exactly? Do these billionaires know how to clean a rifle or pistol, fix or hook up a generator or install solar panels and maintain the batteries. Do they know how to unplug a toilet reset a breaker or nurse a sick child? They won’t magically be able to do that just arriving at a bunker. The hole in the ground will merely be N expensive pre_dug grave.

Money cannot buy tolerance for the mental hardship of dystopia that is nothing close to the life of ease and Rich ennui they enjoy now. In fact 99.9% of people will not be able to mentally cope with the dystopia after the fall of society. You cannot begin to remotely imagine how alien and horrific the reality will be and the adaptations you will have to make to live in a world so UNLIKE where we are NOW living in.

However, the best I can do is prepare to hunker down and hope/pray for the best. I feel fortunate to be able to scrape together enough money to buy several cases of canned chicken. But I am grateful, it’s 6 more months of protection against starvation.
The developer who built the silo bunkers also said, in 2015, that 40% of Congress would be arrested because of the Panama Papers, the Catholic Church, and the Clinton Foundation. Here in Pa it used to be illegal to jug fish or use a line with more than three hooks, but that may have changed in the last few years. I pretty much quit fishing the river here after the bass turned to hermaphrodites from all the birth control hormones flushed down the commodes and the pesticide runoff ruined the fishing.

Stuart. Been gardening all my life and I know what your saying. Every year is different, the wether is never the same. Some years the whole thing just gets away from me. I guess we have to really enjoy what we do get out of it. You may have heard about the preacher s he passed the farmers house and saw him working in his garden and said You and the lord sure have a beautiful garden this year. And the farmer replied. You should have seen it last year when he had it all by himself. Don’t be discouraged enjoy what you get and if you need more plant more. And try to have a little fun along the way. I’m getting better at it. Some things I’ve learned: ALWAYS amend your beds with whatever compost you have/can get, even if it’s not ready yet; don’t grow things in the middle of summer that don’t like heat or that taste gross with heat (kale is disgusting in summer, but absolutely delicious after a frost!); don’t put everything in one place – spread them out (a row of spinach in this bed, another row of spinach in a different bed, etc) this way you can see what likes being where. DO experiment with planting things in unorthodox locations: my tomatoes in the forest are doing about 800% better than the ones in the gardens and on the deck! Also, one variety of pepper is thriving in the forest, whereas its sibling on the deck isn’t very happy; with another variety of pepper, the opposite is true. Pests: DE for ants and earwigs, pop bottle beer traps for slugs, soapy or hydrated lime spray for aphids and mites. With all of these, though, you must be diligent and stay on top of them. We lost one hops crop already to aphids and leaf miners. It’s definitely a learning process, and I am nowhere near perfect yet, but the more I experiment, the more I learn and the more food I successfully produce 🙂 good luck and happy gardening!
Get some barnyard manure(horse and chicken), but let it age(4-6 wks.) before you put it on your garden. Also making compost out of vegetable scraps and dried leaves for your garden. These work better than commercial fertilizers. If you have a commercial stockyard in your town they usually sell barnyard manure. You can also mix the manure in with your disked soil a month or two before you plant, this would be the ideal way to go. I was raised by a father who farmed during his early teens and twenties until he went off to WWII. I always said farming in Braggs Bottom behind a mule pulling a plow is what made his survival through three straight years on the front lines possible. He was very physically fit and used to hardship.
He choose a different career, but we always had 3 acres of garden, which we 3 kids participated in planting, hoeing, and harvesting. It was a great learning experience, and we 3 kids chose other careers. I still have my own garden, not as large as 3 acres though. I don’t have that much land available or a tractor. I think the fertilizer tip will help improve your garden production.
One big tell for me was, in one of Mr. Snyder’s links, the journalist was questioning one of these bankers or tech execs. The guy said that as soon as the Masonic handshake was exchanged, the other exec opened up about all his preps.
They must all be Masons.

Half of prepping is skills-learning. These prepper-wanabees have no skills outside of the C-suite environment. They are toast in a SHTF scenario no matter what they buy now.
Amen. So how do we foster young people acquiring ancestral skills? I say, let’s find creative ways like hunting, trapping, fishing,gardening, carpentry, food preserving in high school. Make these the after school activities and then they attend a retreat where they are tested and find wild edibles and hunt and butcher animals, and tan hides.

Collect as many hand tools that you can. Files and saw blades are tge hardest tools to produce. Nails and screws, anvil and hammers, garden tools hoes, rakes water hoses, shovels axes hatchets pliers hammers tape measures line levels, chicken wire and fencing, rolls of barbed wire to set up your defenses, and buy all the cast iron cookware you can afford. Many will be cooking over camp fires in a collapse. So start hitting yard sales flea markets estate sales and get your stash in place now. All of these items will be in huge demand once SHTF collapse happens and you can use them as barter items. Get a good rototiller to till a garden and start your compost piles now to prepare your soils for fertility. Got your heirloom seed vaults? Hunger is a b1tch.

For those of us who aren’t wealthy, there is comfort in the thought that “The less you have, the less you have to lose!”. Of course, it is not a whole lot of comfort.
In 2017, the SNAP budget was 70 billion helping 40 million Americans.
That is equal to $1750 per person.
What we could do instead is buy in bulk mostly dehydrated food like rice, pinto beans, lentils, powdered milk, whole wheat, sugar, whole coffee beans, popcorn or field corn, etc. You obviously know where I am going.
It’s already been proven that you can easily feed a family of four quite well using a prepper diet like the LDS folks. You would have lots left over for some canned goods, bulk frozen meat, a hand grinder, vitamins, etc.
Thus you could through the federal governent provide MORE food per dollar and promote prepping to the most vulnerable folks.
Now they have an entire year of food all at once. You could even all them to trade it privately with others for fresh produce from farmers markets. Or similar products elsewhere.
Or give seeds as once was common…especially heirloom varieties.
I see this as an opportunity to have a teachable moment and actually improve nutrition,cut waste, cut Walmart’s profits, and genuinely improve food security.
You could easily help farmers this way as it’s guaranteed domestic sales.
It enforces ancestral skills in cooking. It eliminates frivolous grocery items like soda. One can easily mix up cereal from basic bulk items and make familia which is a very nutritious and delicious swiss cereal versus that pure junk in cardboard boxes.
Swiss muesli is delicious, nutritious porridge. It’s ten times better and ends up being less expensive. You can make it entirely from dehydrated food meaning you can easily control costs.

Noble thoughts. You tend to forget virtually everyone on SNAP votes Democrat. As long as we have Democrats, we are handicapped as a nation. We also have a lot of food suppliers that get quite rich off crap food that they sell, so we also have to deal with lobbyists. For these reasons I think your proposal would fail,

Your list for a stash of food is OK. Mine is quite similar, except I use honey instead of sugar, and I don’t keep much coffee around.
I believe in young people or I would not have spent decades doing youth ministry. The problem is they need mentoring BADLY and their parents fail to do it.
If every prepper would sincerely befriend and mentor one Millennial, they would become naturally conservative and thus loathe the democrats.
It is just like helping a young person understand the 2nd Amendment. Once they do, they naturally are won over to the conservative side.

I also think that those who can pull their kids out of public schools… Do so. More parental influence in private schools or homeschool if you can… The world is becoming more evil and this is not a singular event, it is ongoing. The millennials are vilified but don’t forget they didn’t structure their public schools, someone else did. Don’t forget to prep spiritually so God can help you.
It’s happening – slowly but surely! I’ve been meeting a lot of young people who are actually up on what’s going on with our food, the bees, etc and who are absolute sponges when it comes to things like organics, health and self-sufficiency. At least where I am, the people are indeed waking up! Most of my son’s generation here (I think he’s a millenial? Born in ’95) are quite conservative; like, young girls don’t go out and get abortions, but instead the young fathers encourage her to keep the baby and then stick around to be proper fathers and husbands. Like you, I talk to all these young kids when I meet them – but I don’t talk to just them, I talk to everyone. I work in the film industry where I’m constantly meeting new people and it’s both surprising and heartwarming to find so many people – both young and old – are of the same mindset 🙂
Look up the Permies. They are Millennials who are most often homesteaders, whether in the country or in abandoned urban zones. They are into permaculture and the wise insight of Sepp Holder. They are into every kind of self-ufficiency, so there is some hope.
All indications are that the generation following the millennials will have less tendencies to emulate them, so it’s predicted that STD rates and abortion will drop.
Make a difference, share the gospel, and sincerely befriend and mentor young people. Otherwise ancestral skills can be lost. This is how old folks helped the ex-hippies who fled the communes and became the Back to the Land Movement. That is how Mother Earth News got started and Organic Gardening.

You can choose to combine tough love, altrusim, and Christian values and genuinely help the impoverished help themselves so they can pull their own load someday.

Or you can wish that the USA never helps the poor. And of course that is futile as it would never happen.
The ultimate goal is making positive changes incrementally to stabilize the impoverished by political actions that improve domestic employment and benefits and fair wages by eliminating foreign competition and illegals working and eliminating the worker visa program.
When there are insufficient domestic workers, corportation either move or pay more. If they move, then put tariffs on them as they are traitors.
If you want to stabilize the country so people are healthier, why not in effect pay people with low body mass index as an insurance credit? Why not offer free state tuition to every healthy teenager who can earn a presidential fitness award? You do want healthy college age people for military service,right? Here’s a way.

So if you can draw a good vaccum, you can make small quantities of ice. This is not commonly known. Likewise you can use a bicycle to drive a vaccum pump and then hook this up to an existing standard dorm fridge (as even without power it is well insulated) and so keep these things cool. It’s a legitimate way for a diabetic to store insulin. But you still have to source the insulin. There used to be plans for these for medical professionals stationed in 3rd world villages.

I think it would be prett easy to write some basic prepper articles gear to:
1. Elderly
2. A young family
3. Vegetarians (but not vegans)
Using basic inexpensive dehydrated food in order to save money. A good portion of it would vegetarian but balanced, wholesome,and nutritional. Making it delicious is not difficult. Most often everyone likes a savory dish and a very basic pudding which is very inexpensive.
Young couples and the elderly are always short of cash. Cooking up a pot of soup or stew, especially using a crock pot, has benefits for the elderly as it’s lots of ready meals that can be individually frozen and are inexpensive. And they can be healthy and low sodium. And young couples are harried as both are working, and this is far cheaper and a hot meal versus sandwiches which are actually expensive due to lunchmeat and cheese. Having a sandwich at supper time used to really irk me as a young husband.
Prepping is often centered around food and it boosts morale. Talking politics is often counter-productive as it’s divisive.
Didn’t Kadafi have 150 tons of gold? Isn’t that over 8 trillion dollars? Or 8 billion dollars? Either way it won’t pay the service on our ever increasing debt for much longer? If we get Syrians gold then Irans ,then Venezuelas, then. .? We can probably go on for a while. But eventually we will run out of other people’s money?
