US To Suspend Syria Diplomacy With Russia, Prepares “Military Options”

In the most dramatic diplomatic escalation involving the Syrian conflict in the past years, yesterday John Kerry issued an ultimatum to Russia, in which he warned his colleague Lavrov to stop bombing Aleppo or else the US would suspend all cooperation and diplomacy with Russia.
24 hours later, this appears to be precisely what is about to take place, leading to an even greater geopolitical shock in Syria. According to Retuers, the United States is expected to tell Russia on Thursday it is suspending their diplomatic engagement on Syria following the Russian-backed Syrian government’s intense attacks on Aleppo, U.S. officials said on condition of anonymity.
“We are on the verge of suspending the discussion because it is irrational in the context of the kind of bombing taking place to be sitting there trying to take things seriously,” Kerry told an audience in Washington.
“It is one of those moments where we are going to have to pursue other alternatives,” he added.
Why now and what happens next? According to US officials, the Obama administration is now considering tougher responses to the Russian-backed Syrian government assault on Aleppo, including military options. According to Reuters, the new discussions were being held at “staff level,” and have yet to produce any recommendations to President Barack Obama, who has resisted ordering military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the country’s multi-sided civil war.
“The president has asked all of the agencies to put forward options, some familiar, some new, that we are very actively reviewing,” Blinken said. “When we are able to work through these in the days ahead we’ll have an opportunity to come back and talk about them in detail.”
However, now that diplomacy with Russia is set to end, this will give the greenlight for Obama to send in US troops in Syria, with Putin certain to respond appropriately, in what will be the biggest military escalation in the Syrian proxy war in its five and a half year history.

TEHRAN (FNA)- India’s military said on Thursday it carried out “surgical strikes” in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir against alleged “elements” who were planning attacks on Indian territory.
India’s director general of military operations, Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh, said India received “very credible and specific information” that militants located in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir were planning attacks on Indian-controlled Kashmir and “in various other metros in our country”, UPI reported.
“Significant casualties have been caused to the terrorists and those who are trying to support them,” Singh said in New Delhi.
Indian officials said Wednesday night’s attack was in response to two militant attacks on Indian positions in September, including one in which 18 Indian soldiers were killed when militants stormed an army base near the Pakistani border, an attack Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said would “not go unpunished.”
The circumstances surrounding India’s purported cross-border attack are not fully clear. India and Pakistan both contest the Kashmir Valley, which has led to two wars over control of the territory since its independence from Britain in 1947.
After India’s announcement of the “surgical strikes,” Pakistan said no such strikes took place ,calling India’s announcement a “fabrication” and said only “unprovoked” small-arms fire occurred along the border in which two Pakistani soldiers were killed and nine injured.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said his country will respond “forcefully” if India launches another cross-border attack.
“If India tries to do this again, we will respond forcefully,” Asif said in a statement. “India is doing this only to please their media and public.”
Pakistan has captured an Indian soldier too.

Ladies, be sure to get yourself a Treadle Sewing Machine. Go to yard sales and pick up miss-matched sheets, pillowcases, old table clothes. Anything that can be turned into simple clothing. Buy bolts of material on sale. Yard sales are good for old patterns and nobody wants grandma’s old button boxes.

An acre of cotton will yield at most 750 pounds of raw material. You can’t use the acre to grow anything else, either, it will need to fallow in vetch or similar for two years before you can grow food.
Just keep stocking up on manufactured cloth and clothing. Fill one spare closet or a few boxes and you’ll be in duds for a decade or more, and have a lot more time to expend on the rest of the things we need to do when the time comes.
