California Mayor Forced to Hand Over Electronics and Passwords at Airport – Compares U.S. to Nazi Germany

Stockton, California Mayor Anthony R. Silva attended a recent mayor’s conference in China, but his return trip took a bit longer than usual. At the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) this week, agents with the Department of Homeland Security detained Silva and confiscated his personal cell phone among other electronics. According to comments from the mayor, that may not even be the most alarming part.
“Unfortunately, they were not willing or able to produce a search warrant or any court documents suggesting they had a legal right to take my property,” Silva told SFGate. “In addition, they were persistent about requiring my passwords for all devices.”
The mayor’s attorney, Mark Reichel, told SFGate that Silva was not allowed to leave the airport without forfeiting his passwords. Reichel was not present for Silva’s interaction with the DHS agents, either. The mayor was told he had “no right for a lawyer to be present” and that being a US citizen did not “entitle me to rights that I probably thought,” according to the paper.
Evidently, Silva was well aware of the situation and only had his concerns heightened by first-hand experience. Talking to SFGate, he briefly compared the government battle on privacy to notorious dictatorships worldwide.

This isn’t fissionable reactor core materials. They are not going to start a chain reaction and go china syndrome because buried trash is burning nearby. The materials might catch fire themselves and then the result would be nuclear contamination going airborne. Last I checked, airborne gases don’t cause earthquakes on fault lines.
If the Nuclear materials had any chance of chain reacting and creating an uncontained nuclear reaction, then they would have done that in the last 40 years that that stuff has sat in the ground already. And frankly had that happened, the fire wouldn’t be moving toward the nuclear materials, but away from them as they would catch alight anything around them that could burn with the high heat of a nuclear reaction event.
In case anyone is wondering, the New Madrid fault line is between 3 and 15 miles deep. So things on or near the surface won’t come anywhere near that fault line.

DHS border authorities have always been able to legally do the things this guy complained about without a warrant. The border search authority given to them by law allows it. This was the case before DHS was formed, the authority was always given to the U.S. Customs Service and for the INS Inspectors working at borders as well. That this mayor or the average American is now outraged or up in arms about this only shows how little people have paid attention. It has literally always been this way at the border. Is it right? That’s a whole other discussion. But let’s not pretend like this is a new thing that DHS is doing.

All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.
6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.
Americans call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver’s licenses and Department of Transportation regulations.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
Americans call it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture… Thus read “controlled or subsidized” rather than “owned”… This is easily seen in these as well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.
8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
Americans call it Minimum Wage and slave labor like dealing with our Most Favored Nation trade partner; i.e. Communist China. We see it in practice via the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two “income” family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920’s, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.
Americans are being taxed to support what we call ‘public’ schools, but are actually “government force-tax-funded schools ” Even private schools are government regulated. The purpose is to train the young to work for the communal debt system. We also call it the Department of Education, the NEA and Outcome Based “Education” . If he was so appalled, why did he give DHS the property and information? I will not comply with any illegal searches or seizures. If we do nothing to keep our rights, they will surely take them away.
Because if he didn’t, they would have seized his electronic devices and done it the hard way. When you cross the border, all bets are off. It’s always been this way in this country, long before DHS was formed and the U.S. Customs Service was doing it. They don’t need a warrant at the border, they don’t need probable cause, they don’t even need suspicion. You don’t have to like it, but understand that it’s always been that way and there are piles of case law to back it up. This guy can’t sue and won’t get a dime.

After reading the above 21 comments, I have concluded that nobody here knows a damn thing about the governments rules and regulations in Airports/Travel Centers.
It is for this reason to this day I will not travel by flight or by rail. Once a person walks into one of these “trap zones” of travel. The person has already surrendered any “Rights” once they have entered these DHS Zones.
That’s right folks, if you travel by flight or rail. You have voluntarily surrendered any Rights that you had before you entered those gates, and these people can pretty much do what they want with you.
It’s your right to not like it, which is exactly why I choose to avoid these traps. Peoples monies have been stolen, people being molested, physically abused and good luck in proving your case – only chance is one may have is video surveillance and that is if they release it.
Like the common “no free speech zones” that have been implemented and enforced. The DHS/NSA Travel Centers are “no human right zones”.
If you are a person who does not want to comply with this authoritarian style treatment, avoid these centers at all cost. Make other arrangements for long distance travel.
It’s written right on your ticket or posted at the counter what your rights are, once you pay for the ticket you entered into a legal contract.

The only question I have, is just what the heck is the Mayor of Stockton doing attending a conference in China? Sounds like a big waste of tax money to me.

Then you have the subways of places like New York, and the El in Chicago. Same procedures can and do get performed on the public who use the Transit System.
