Why Are We Siding With al-Qaeda?

Last week, I urged the Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to stop protecting al-Qaeda in Syria by demanding that the Syrian government leave Idlib under al-Qaeda control. While it may seem hard to believe that the US government is helping al-Qaeda in Syria, it’s not as strange as it may seem: our interventionist foreign policy increasingly requires Washington to partner up with “bad guys” in pursuit of its dangerous and aggressive foreign policy goals.

Does the Trump Administration actually support al-Qaeda and ISIS? Of course not. But the “experts” who run Trump’s foreign policy have determined that a de facto alliance with these two extremist groups is for the time being necessary to facilitate the more long-term goals in the Middle East. And what are those goals? Regime change for Iran.

Let’s have a look at the areas where the US is turning a blind eye to al-Qaeda and ISIS.

First, Idlib. As I mentioned last week, President Trump’s own Special Envoy to fight ISIS said just last year that “Idlib Province is the largest Al Qaeda safe haven since 9/11.” So why do so many US officials – including President Trump himself – keep warning the Syrian government not to re-take its own territory from al-Qaeda control? Wouldn’t they be doing us a favor by ridding the area of al-Qaeda? Well, if Idlib is re-taken by Assad, it all but ends the neocon (and Saudi and Israeli) dream of “regime change” for Syria and a black eye to Syria’s ally, Iran.

Second, one of the last groups of ISIS fighters in Syria are around the Al-Tanf US military base which has operated illegally in northeastern Syria for the past two years. Last week, according to press reports, the Russians warned the US military in the region that it was about to launch an assault on ISIS fighters around the US base. The US responded by sending in 100 more US Marines and conducting a live-fire exercise as a warning. President Trump recently reversed himself (again) and announced that the US would remain at Al-Tanf “indefinitely.” Why? It is considered a strategic point from which to attack Iran. The US means to stay there even if it means turning a blind eye to ISIS in the neighborhood.

Finally, in Yemen, the US/Saudi coalition fighting the Houthis has been found by AP and other mainstream media outlets to be directly benefiting al-Qaeda. Why help al-Qaeda in Yemen? Because the real US goal is regime change in Iran, and Yemen is considered one of the fronts in the battle against Iranian influence in the Middle East. So we are aiding al-Qaeda, which did attack us, because we want to “regime change” Iran, which hasn’t attacked us. How does that make sense?

We all remember the old saying, attributed to Benjamin Franklin’s Poor Richard’s Almanack, that “if you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.” The “experts” would like us to think they are pursuing a brilliant foreign policy that will provide a great victory for America at the end of the day. But as usual, the “experts” have got it wrong. It’s really not that complicated: when “winning” means you’re allied with al-Qaeda and ISIS, you’re doing something wrong. Let’s start doing foreign policy right: let’s leave the rest of the world alone!

      1. Silly rabbit…. because it’s profitable!

      2. God love ya Ron Paul, but the spooks INVENTED Al Qaeda and armed them in the early eighties. It’s not a question of WHY they are arming them, it’s a question of WHEN will they be held accountable for their treason and deaths of young American soldiers by their actions.

The AUMF declares that the US can pursue Al Qaeda anywhere in the world to defeat them for their part in 9/11. That is why they are anywhere the bosses wish to start a war.

Happy False Flag Day to all.

        • Oh my gawd!!!!! You mean it’s true after all?

      3. Very simple, Uncle Ronnie. We created Al Qaeda. DUH.

      4. Another false flag is being put together and Putin has gone on record exposing it. But our media does not report that this Hollywood style propaganda film of the Syrians carrying out a gas attack against its own by President Assad M.D. is a hoax in the making.

God Bless the thousands who died seven years ago when the New York Twin Towers came down; special thanks to the firemen.

      5. Well Ron is not quite right…the USA and allies have actively supported ISSIS/El CIA duh; with weapons, training, funding, air support, medical aid and most importantly, propaganda…!

If the white helmets set off the fake CW program, we could be in the middle of WW3 In no time. BTW, 2 days ago USAF F15’s dropped white phosphorus bombs on a Syrian village near Al Tanf. (that’s CW weapon attack) !!! No peep in the media at all!

      6. What do you expect from these killers posing as the US government? Since when does what the US people say matter one bit? The greater Israel project means taking most of Iraq, a big part of Syria, the northern one third of Saudi Arabia and the eastern one quarter of Egypt among other middle eastern territory in the process of controlling the entire middle east with their satanic ally Israel. Controlling Iran, Afghanistan and every other Mohammad also. Of course Hillary would have followed the same orders as Trump currently follows. Do you see any truth exposing this treason? Or is it USA USA USA like a herd of deaf dumb and blind sheep?

      7. The simple fact is that the US is a state supporter of Islamic Terrorism.

        • Kevin2, the vast majority of Islamic terrorism wouldn’t even exist without US support. Cut off US support totally we would see their attacks take a nosedive. I’d love to see that happen but I know it won’t. TPTB are really determined to bring on WW3.

          • The Deplorable Renegade

” the vast majority of Islamic terrorism wouldn’t even exist without US support.”

            I’m in full agreement.

I have visions of some retired KGB types on pension hanging out, drinking vodka and saying, “You have to hand it to the capitalists”. “They make their lies believable”.

        • And look at what the US is doing in Yemeni mass genocide killing busloads of children..

      8. I’ve given up on the US gov.

As I frequently request in the comments section at Russia Today –
        “Dear Russia and/or China,
        please Nuke Washington DC.”

      9. It’s like this everybody. We are in a no-win no-win situation. We are siding with al-Quada because they are against the Syrian government. We are against Syria because they support Iran. Iran supports terrorism . Yes,it does. It says so itself. So,anybody who is against Syria is our “ally”. This term is loosely used. We will support them. How we got into this mess in the first place, well, thank Obama for it. But there we are. Now,if we were REALLY serious about doing something about Islamic terrorism we would cut ties to Saudi Arabia. We would build a wall on our borders that would reach to heaven. We would not permit ANYONE from Islamic countries into the U.S. We would have spies every mosque. Keep dreamin’.

        • southside

“How we got into this mess in the first place, well, thank Obama for it. ”

          It predates Obama. 911 was a sham to justify the Us using its military forces ostensibly to fight terrorism or the broader, “potential for terrorism”. The reality is as General Wesley Clark stated in the “7 nations” video;

          h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPHxfOen-dA

The goal is to remove stable governments and to induce fragmentation that can’t say no to foreign economic / business interests. In the end Russia’s southern flank is very vulnerable
as its highly populated with Islamics. Destabilization is the result, its being repeated therefore its intended.

          “We are in a no-win no-win situation.”

Quite to the contrary; they’re accomplishing just what they desire. Forget their words, watch the actions and results.

      10. Why, To destabilize the country,so we can get in there gold vault. They don’t have as much as Kadafi, or anywhere near Iran , But hey, 20 dollars ,is twenty dollars ,it don’t matter how you make it? And we gotta at least make our interest payments. How else do we do it?

      11. Every time I hear a government official call Iran the leading sponsor of terror, I want to puke. The US government is the world leader in sponsoring terror groups. The list I have so far is as follows: Al Qaeda, ISIS, PKK, MEK, Taliban, and my favorite the KLA. We supported Al Qaeda and the Taliban to fight the old Soviet Union. We created and still support ISIS to fight Syria. We support the PKK and MEK to fight Iran. We took the KLA off the terror list because we wanted them to fight Serbia. We bombed civilian targets in Serbia to help the terrorists in the KLA steal Kosovo from the Serbs. Then we gave Kosovo to the KLA. Their leader is still the president there. He is a Muslim communist, and the leading heroin smuggler in Europe. We even put a very large US military base in Kosovo to protect the terrorists. There is more to that story, but I don’t want to write a book.

        • Thanks HIM. I appreciate your insight on things I did not fully understand. The US Government is a predator no doubt. Its so sad the state of the globe and our Tax money is going to financially this assault on other countries. I have been on a sitdown strike for about 5 years now to not pay amy taxes to the beast. Boycott Taxes.
