Video: Model Shows How Ebola Will Spread: “It Only Takes One Infected Individual Making It Through An Airport Checkpoint”

Health officials around the world are scrambling to contain the Ebola virus with many, including the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, now preparing for its eventual escape out of West Africa.

According to CDC director Tom Frieden, the ‘window of opportunity’ for stopping the spread of Ebola is closing rapidly. In July, as the virus surged across west African borders, Frieden downplayed its potential to reach U.S. shores. “It is not a potential of Ebola spreading widely in the U.S.,” claimed Frieden in a preemptive effort to prevent panic. “That is not in the cards.”

The cards, apparently, have been reshuffled, as Frieden now joins a growing chorus of concerned officials around the world. “This is not just a problem for West Africa, it’s not just a problem for Africa,” Frieden said last week. “It’s a problem for the world, and the world needs to respond.”

In the United States, hospitals are quietly preparing Ebola infection wards and procedures for what many believe is the inevitable arrival of the virus on U.S. shores.

Mathematical models performed by numerous researchers suggest that anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000 people globally could contract the virus by December of this year.

Researcher Yaneer Bar-Yam, whose models predicted the rise of the Arab Spring just weeks before it actually happened, has been modeling viral outbreaks since 2006. In a report published in conjunction with MIT and the New England Complex Systems Institute, Bar-Yam and colleagues developed a host-pathogen model to predict the spread of emergent diseases, including Ebola, in evolving ecosystems.

The results are nothing short of terrifying as depicted in the video produced by the NECSI showing how the Ebola virus originating in West Africa might spread:

The most relevant features of NECSI’s model to the current crisis is the critical threshold of connectedness at which a virulent strain can spread out of control.

Even if a system seems stable, it may only take a few more routes of travel to trigger secondary outbreaks.

“It wouldn’t take much for the current Ebola outbreak to spread to more countries or continents,” says NECSI president Yaneer Bar-Yam. “It only takes one infected individual making it through an airport checkpoint.”

When it comes to pandemics, it only takes a little global connectedness to trigger a cascade of infections. The outbreak of Ebola raging in West Africa— labeled a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization—echoes a scenario mapped out by NECSI in 2006.

In a computer simulation of pathogens and hosts, long-range routes of transmission — most prominently, international air routes — can allow the deadliest viral strains to outrun their own extinction, and in the process kill vastly more victims than they would have otherwise.

In an evolutionary model accounting for spatial distribution, a pathogen like the Ebola virus can cause its own demise by killing all the hosts in its immediate vicinity. If there is no one left alive to infect, a viral strain will die off. Successful pathogens leave their hosts alive long enough to spread infection. Typically, the most virulent mutations burn themselves out, and a stable balance is achieved between host and pathogen. But avenues of long-range dispersal break this pattern.

This particular outbreak of the Ebola virus has been underestimated by health officials and government leaders since the very beginning. They assumed, wrongly, that it would behave like previous outbreaks. But rather than remaining contained in a specific rural area, wiping out its hosts, and dying off like previous outbreaks did, the virus has continued to spread. The likely cause is that travel systems are much more advanced today than they have been in the last several decades, and as noted by Bar-Yam, it only takes a single individual with Ebola to cross a checkpoint.

In fact, this is exactly what happened in Lagos, Nigeria. One person reportedly entered the country via a flight to Lagos, slipped through Customs with the virus, and now at least 19 individuals have been infected and another 400 are under surveillance.

It should be clear that unless global transportation systems and international border crossings are completely shut down, a move that is unlikely, the virus will keep spreading.

This week an official from the U.S. National Institutes of Health told Newsweek that the virus continues to accelerate and is now “completely out of control.”

    The Threat Is Real

Though we have warned about the potential havoc Ebola would wreak since it was first identified, many have failed to take it seriously.

Now, with nearly 2,000 people dead and potentially thousands of others infected, we are reaching a point of no return.

It’s not clear how officials plan on isolating a virus that has spread to at least six West African countries and could now have made its way to other regions like Europe, Asia, Central America or even the United States.

As highlighted by Yaneer Bar-Yam and his colleagues, since there is no cure the only preventative measure is isolating oneself from populations that could potentially carry the virus – and in this case, that means every one.

There is no cure for the Ebola virus; only early detection and basic medical care can improve a patient’s chance of survival. Thus, awareness of how quickly the scales of transmission can tip is paramount to getting the current outbreak under control and preventing more from starting.

Containment efforts around the world have thus far failed, so we must assume a worse-case scenario in which the virus makes its way to our regions, cities, and neighborhoods.

What You Can Do To Prepare

In The Prepper’s Blueprint, Tess Pennington outlines various Pandemic Preparedness tips.

Among her instructions for creating a sick room, Pennington recommends a basic supply list.

    Basic Pandemic Preparedness Supply List

But she also notes that a pandemic event will likely lead to significant shutdowns for businesses, government offices, potentially even your doctor’s office, so preparing for that is also an important consideration. And that includes having emergency food, water and other supplies on hand, because the last thing you want to do is have to leave home when those in your town or neighborhood could be carriers of a deadly disease.

Whether Ebola hits U.S. shores remains to be seen. But as of right now nearly 2,000 people worldwide are dead, the virus is spreading, and it has a mortality rate of 50% to 90%.

Government officials seem to be unable to contain it. This means that prevention comes down to each individual and their families.

Do you really want to wait until after infections have been identified in the United States to make your preparations?

      1. It may be just a matter of time and opportunity.

        • One thing I’ve learned over the years: if the government tells you to worry, don’t; and if they tell you not to worry, DO, immediately.

          • Colloidal Silver is capable of destroying any known bacteria or virus and nothing known can build a resistance to pure silver. Ebola is now a weaponized virus. I’ve bought some 500 ppm lab made silver and I can make the 10-15 ppm all day long. I suggest you do the same. I’d love to shoot the people responsible for this and other bad shit.

            • Do you know of any source that relates colloidal silver being tested and proven effective? Please post if you do.

              • Big Pharma suppresses this sort of information. It is not news that silver purifies the water on the ISS and it is universally used in hospitals to treat burn victims. I have taken it for years. I have drank it, put it in my ears, my eyes, and have breathed it in a nebulizer (something parents should try on their kids that have developed this mystery respiratory illness) I don’t go to the doctor because I am never sick very long or too bad. Not a soul can tell me this stuff doesn’t work.

                  • Math models, computer models, models everywhere including those models created to predict global cooling with an ice age in the 1970’s, then global warming, nope global climate change, now global climate disruption, and models predicting financial collapse. I’m highly suspicious of these man made models.

Now then the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition with super models, now that is something to see and behold.

                  • If we are lucky, TSA will be eliminated!!! 🙂

                • Silver SULFAdiazine, the active ingredient in Sivadene™ used to treat burns is a silver salt of a SULFA antibiotic and is used TOPICALLY, not internally. There is evidence that it actually WORSENS healing times.

I think you need to choose a different example.

                  • John Q
What you speak of is not colloidal silver

                  • Precisely my point.

You said: “…and it is universally used in hospitals to treat burn victims.”

I pointed out that Silvadene is an inapplicable example.

                • Mac,

I do not know why IMPERMEABLE SHOE COVERS are consistently missing from Tess and your pandemic preparedness lists.

Body fluid spatter on shoes is an IMPORTANT communicability problem.

Please advise Tess so that she may, in turn, advise her readers.

                  • Well I’ll take my chances with mine and you do the same with whatever you deem appropriate. I hope we live. And this article speculates some people will get in the country with this shit. Don’t they know our scum government has already brought infected people back here? This is unheard of madness bringing it here on purpose. Speaks volumes to their motives.

                • If CS cures anything, why did people die of infections in minor wounds in the days before the invention of penicillin?

                  • Because most of the population did not know how, or did not have the means to create the electrical charge required to make colloidal silver. The water must be distilled, the silver virtually pure, and made correctly.

                  • Because they didn’t know to keep wounds clean, what caused infections, how to cure them or how to make colloidal silver.

              • larry: Noodle around here…test results, etc….congressional testimony, ebola, virus and bacterial studies, clinical studies, uses, etc. Also, if you have to go out in public, use the cream in your nostril, it will kill for 4 hours, reapply….

                • Thank yu sir!

              • I do seem to recall a case involving a vampire or werewolf being killed by silver . So it must stop ebola as well.
No seriously. I am very interested in this, but would like to see some hard data before I jump on board entirely.
It’s one thing to say big pharma suppress this info, but lots of other herbal/home remedies are generally accepted by the scientific world. Maybe I missed that journal entry.
My plan for ebola is lock down house and family. Be prepared (with more than silver spoons and a battery charger). ;). Just kidding. FP

              • Hi Jim,
Colloidial silver is great stuff, though is not effective for ebola.
One of the best sites that people should read about ebola is by Jim Stone. He is an amazing man!

                His site is: jimstonefreelance.com

                Terry

              • People,

Please don’t get sidetracked. I swear by colloidal silver
and was introduced to me by my father decades ago, who is now in his mid 80’s and in great health.
This is not a normal Ebola strain. I believe it has been highly altered. I do believe the best information I have read to date you will find on a website by Jim Stone.

I am not into wasting peoples time or steering anyone in the wrong direction. You will be AMAZED to read what can be used. As far as I am concerned, Jim is probably one of the best investigative journalists alive.

            • According to the WHO (World Health Organization), approximately 1.25 million people die on the worlds roads every year.

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), approximately 2,598 people have died from Ebola worldwide since 1976.

So statistically speaking, which is deadlier? The Auto or Ebola?

You will forgive me if I don’t buy into the Ebola hype. It’s just an excuse to grow government, scare the public, control populations, and benefit the Medical/Pharmacological industrial complex. It’s a fraud!

              • FAKE and lies. No way.
Propaganda to make you think in wrong direction.

This could be true if we all were same cultural level and race as people are in central Africa.

                • Virus is known since 1976. No vaccine or good treatment invented.
Because it is not dangerous outside virus natural occurrence area.

                  • We’ll find out. Fwiw, there’s an Ebola patient in Omaha Nebraska.

                • noname says:

“This could be true if we all were same cultural level and race as people are in central Africa.”

Don’t worry, they want you dead too, but it won’t be due to Ebola.

                • Been to Detroit lately?

              • People in Africa are freaking out over it… if it comes to our shores, so will we.

                • Anonymous says:

“People in Africa are freaking out over it… if it comes to our shores, so will we.”

That’s where they want you…“freaking out over it.”

                  Do you get it yet???

It means more State power and control!!!

                  Do you get it yet???

                  • If anyone remembers a bit of recent world history, HIV was said to be a “world pandemic.”

                    How’d that prediction/scare play out???

                    ??? That’s what I thought!

                  • AIDS *is* an Epidemic.
And the supposed R0 for this modern version of Ebola is
                    officially only 1.5-2.5
But, supposedly it requires direct contact to transmit.
The CDC recently redefined direct contact to mean anything
within 3 meters. Sounds airborne to me.
A women infected five others in a cab, all who later died.
Minimum lethality is 50%, upper lethality is 90%. One man traveling through an airport infected NINETEEN people.
So the minimum actual basic reproduction number is between 5 and 19, which is well above influenza.

Going with the most optimistic numbers, we have a virus that infects 2.5-5 people per contagious person, and kills a minimum of half of them.

This is *way* worse than many people think.

This isn’t the same level of scaremongering the CDC drummed up for influenza. They arn’t making half the effort to contain it no, but it seems like they have actively avoided making a big deal about it and have gone through a great deal of pain to emphasis, for a while now, that the outbreak, while big, will be limited. Whenever officials tell you something always presume they mean to hide the opposite. This entire thing smells like a big fuck-up on their part, due to intentionally dragging their feet. Now they are all sweating bullets because they have only a hint of a clue what comes next..and they don’t want the public to know just how scared the federal health officials really are.

What I’m saying is, in a years time this could kill a half billion people, another billion from the economic, political and military fallout of it, or it could just peter out.
I hope for the latter. I’m preparring for the former.

                  • That’s because the majority here want to believe in hope and change…
                    ughh sorry..
                    pandemics..
                    and emp’s
                    and martial law
and Russians and Chinese invading our shores
and Muslims run amok who want to kill us all..
never mind the Russian,Korean, and Chinese nukes ready to land here any damned minute!!!!

run away as fast as you can!!!

bug out somewhere fast to a unique location where the drones will never ever find you

and have I got a deal for you!

                    yup..

                  • Yourmother, was just watching TV at friend’s house– they aren’t even covering it on TV!! All they talk about is the knock-out-punch of some football guy to his wife…

Actually, they don’t cover hardly anything on TV except ISIS and trivial stuff like making hamburgers.

                  • DevilMayCry says:

                    “AIDS *is* an Epidemic.”

                    No… “Boobus Americanus” is “Epidemic.”

Boobus Americanus ~ Ignorant boobs (fools) who actually believe just about every lie told to them by the State.

                  • I have a good idea. We can mark the people who are tested and don’t have Ebola or who are vacinated against it (theoratish) Then no one can go in a store and buy something or work somewhere unless they have the mark. Hey we could even kill thoses who are not willing to work with the government and society and take the mark. Hmmmm!

              • yourmotherwaswrong

Im with you on this and here is my twist
they make up this to scare people into …. taking the seed of the beast
if the disease is actual they made it,or if it ever was legit they will use it for their agenda in an effort when it starts to cross borders and countries
they will come up with the fix, and in it is one of those rice sized tracking devices

we all know how they work

                make up the crisis
then come to the rescue with their own brand of “solving the problem”

or the “cure” will fill some 1%ers pocket full of money and take it from those who barely have anything

I do believe there is a lot of hype going on with this, and it may just be a cloak for something sinister

            • Sorry to inform you that I personally dealt with not only colonial silver 500 ppm bot also Supersilver as well, you need to know that while silver compounds kill most bacterium by vibrating at the ultra violet frequency, But it fails to kill germs, viruses and fungie infections that are resilient to such frequencies . I am hoping if anyone with knowledge of herbal medicine to come forward and give us some info as to how to defeat Ibola .

              • Enki: wrong….I posted a link above….

                • Enki, Is correct.

              • Hi Enki, You are correct. Colloidial silver works on bacterial infections, not viral.
Hopefully you can read this reply and if you want some of the best info on the internet, take some time and read through Jim Stones website: jimstonefreelance.com

He is one of the best “NON-SHILL” investigative freelance journalists on the planet.

                Cheers,

          • I personally don’t think it is going to do squat. With all of the hubbub and the time that has elapsed and a freely open border, we should have seen something already. Don’t get me wrong, I will stay prepared, but am not holding my breath.

            • After a difficult day, trying to survive in this crappy, screwed up society, this is where I come to “chill”… if this website doesn’t take your mind off things, nothing will. 😉

              Thank you, Mac.

              • Anon,do I detect a hint of cynical sarcasm?

              • Anon I have to agree. If the reality of life gets you down, just come on over to SHTFplan and let the fantasy articles and comments cheer you up. I know they do me. Trekker Out.

            • what about a terrorist infected with ebola and strap on a bomb vest and set it off in a large city with a large crowd. wouldn’t that cause major panic because of the contamination and possible death to all who response to the incident without actually knowing they are contaminated with ebola?

              • Is that your plan there Habib? I didn’t think the cia would let you post that here..

                • Genius, I bet if WWTI and a few others on here, woke up with a Hog’s Head on the pillow next to them, they would be strapping on their, suicide belt! Trekker Out.

                • I hoping the cia are paying attention. They seem to fail at everything they do. Nobody is paying any attention to that angle and take care of the border so no can get through

          • Anybody else feel like they are at a tennis match?

It is under control vs it is out of control.
It requires quarantine to burn itself out vs it is ok to fly victims all over the world.
There is no cure vs we can better cure them here in the US.

I really have to wonder did the inmates take over the asylum or are the world health agencies so incompetent that they can’t make up their minds from month to month or are they shipping that mess all over the world on purpose??? Since when do you not quarantine a highly contagious disease? That is standard procedure if your goal is to defeat it.

        • “Mathematical models performed by numerous researchers suggest that anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000 people globally could contract the virus by December of this year.”

How could that not start a panic? Suppose there were reported cases in Mexico or Canada? Wouldn’t that spill over into a panic into the United States?

Wouldn’t the government tell news agencies to suppress the story to prevent mass panic in America?

          • If it was a real outbreak the govt would cover it up and the news would not report it. How much have you heard about Fukishima lately or all the sailors on the USS Ronald Reagan that are now dying from the radiation they were exposed to? This will fit neatly into d=some plan they have. That plan will most likely involve you giving up freedoms and/or bank accounts.

            • I think an ebola outbreak here in the USSA was being planned and now it looks like theyve got things lined up to import this disease.

NECSI president Yaneer Bar-Yam said “It only takes one infected individual making it through an airport checkpoint.” Wont be long now before infection comes through an airport.

Ole Cal says it only takes one infected illegal making it through the southern border too.

Whats to stop an ebola infected terrorist from infecting a crowd?

Now that theyve been bring some infected medical staff back to the USSA, theres a legitimate avenue of infection.

Its only a matter of time on ebola. We are wide open and weve been set up for a man assisted catastrophe.

If you dont have the supplies listed above, get them. The masks gloves and tyvek suit total out to about $12. Better to have them than be w/out if we have an outbreak.

              • Yes. I agree.

It can take up to 21 days before a person infected with Ebola starts to show symptoms. Experts say at this point, a person becomes contagious and can spread it to others.

A lot of travel can take place in 3 weeks.

            • So far looks like just black people die from Eboli.. lol…. I have supplies of colloidal silver. No worry here. I guarantee more people die of stupidity, than Eboli in the world. Stupidity spreads faster through sex and birth than eboli through the air.

          • Are these the same “mathematical models” that they
are using to predict climate change ? LMAO

RUN to the WHO for help !
Me thinks that this is an example of createing a proplem and then offering the solution.
            More socialism of course.

            • “It should be clear that unless global transportation systems and international border crossings are completely shut down, a move that is unlikely, the virus will keep spreading”

I think they did try to do this (close down airports to the area) and thats why they kept reporting people were starving! The people in the enclosed areas (quarantined areas) had no food, were starving, because shipments of food were not being brought in due to the closure of airports!! and so, the people were breaking free of the quarantined areas… they don’t trust the officials, and if it were us, I don’t guess I would either! especially if they were not being given food/water!

          • 100,000 out of 7.5 billon = 0.13% people dead with the Virus, now if they said 100,000,000 now that would make a difference.
It’s only bad if “you” git it, other then that NO ONE CARES.

LOOK WHO YOU PUT IN THE W.H. & CONGRESS.

Y’LL ARE DUM F*&K’S SO KEEP YOUR MED’S AND “DIE”.

            • 100,000 in December translates to 100,000,000 in late spring. I’ll delay filing my Tax return.

              • Tex,no need to have a pandemic to delay, just tell em your hard drive crashed,so,then you needed to destroy it,work out just fine!

                • Tex, “losing e-mails” seems to be working. Just a suggestion.

Ebola death toll reaches 2,296 – WHO

          FROM RT NEWS… 🙁

The death toll from the worst Ebola outbreak in history has risen to at least 2,296, the World Health Organization said Tuesday.

In total, 4,293 cases were registered in five West African countries, Reuters said. The figures show almost 200 new deaths from the disease, as of September 6.

WHO’s previous update related to September 5. The latest data also reflects the situation as of September 5 in Liberia, the worst affected country.

        • Every time I see someone mention “computer simulation” I think of the one that the Lib’s and Al Gore use for Global Warming….. It bring a certain level of distrust…..

        • Ebola seems to be controllable using first-world hygiene and sanitation. The people treated in a first-world setting seem to fare pretty well. The problem is that USA is importing turd-world practices along with the herd of turd-worlders.

          • 1st world sanitation in Detroit, Atlanta, South Central LA, Chicago,Memphis…..Yeah Im sure that Ebola in such places would not be contained. If it should hit Fergueson Mo…

        • Not saying this won’t get out of hand but the model is bogus. How does it spread through the entire Brazilian jungle when most of it is not inhabited?

          • Animals can carry the virus too.

      2. Thinking about how this would affect my 9-5 worries me. Going to work wouldn’t make since if making a buck results in the death of my whole family.

        Something to think about.

        • already set up VPN connectivity and a contingency plan with my employer. No way am I setting foot in a healthcare facility for work if it hit.

        • I think you need to stop thinking about your job, dude, and concentrate on surviving the Apocalypse coming our way.

          • I don’t think it will be the apocalypse. It will be something that leads us closer too, but it wont be the end all.

      3. DE-POPULATION by TPTB

        • You may not know how correct you are. I told my wife this morning I believe TPTB have started the culling. My son is home sick today and I won’t be surprised if his has EV68. This bug was only seen in the US once in ’76 in Californication in 4 siblings. No one here has any immunity so I expect older sheeple to start dying in about a month from it. That’s about how long it will take for the kids to give it to grandma and grandpa on their visits.

          • Maddog,
I think you may be right, My daughter was sick over the weekend and missed two days of school when she went back she was doing a very vigorous work out in strength when she felt like her lungs were closing up She had a touch of asthma when younger but nothing in the last 12 13 years we are in southern CO. there hasn’t been any reported case in this area but a lot of kids out sick, have to wonder how many get it but not bad enough to go to the doc. Been doubling everyone up on C and D3 and Elderberry syrup.

          • maddog,

The EV68 virus appears to be spreading QUICKLY. it has now spread to 10 states.

Mystery virus EV-D68 exploding among vaccinated children; U.S. medical system clueless without a vaccine

“The rapid explosion of mystery virus EV-D68 is sending hundreds of children to hospitals across Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, Utah and eight other states.”

“In Kansas City, about 475 children were recently treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital, and at least 60 of them received intensive hospitalization,”

            Natural News

            • Ranchers Wife and KY Mom

Went to two store’s for supplies this morning. At both the isle for over-the-counter cold remedies were jammed packed with shoppers. If I were to guess EV68 has reached Nevada. Reports from other areas are requested as you know the LSM will only lie. Look forward to other bugs as well. I spent a lot of time in central and S. America in my time in the service. I can not tell you how many shots we were required to get before leaving and even with that many got sick anyway with nasty bugs. We are now seeing why Ocommie and his pals invited all the illegals. Make no mistake they brought them here and for this reason.

          • MADDOG , I worry more about this virus than ebola.
My kids think i am a crazy handwasher when i bug them to wash after school and often through the day.
But its the best way i know.

            • Its really hard to keep them away from the bugs in school but be damn sure to have them wash when they get home. If nothing else but to help keep you healthy so you can care for them.

              • Did ya also notice , that this is only in “flyover” country ?
                Reeks of conspiracy .

              • Maddog I totalllly agree with my. as soon as my kids get in the car from school I make them use hand sanitizer just so they don’t bring anything home with them

          • When the dollar crashes TPTB will tell us that Eboli is spread as bacteria on paper money. And they need to confiscate it all and give you a debit card instead. Think I’m kidding??

          • I think my little girl and myself had this. It is nasty. We are both asthmatics so I’m sure that has made it all the worse. I felt oxygen starved and still do to some degree.

It’s been two weeks and we both still have a residual cough.

            Stay well!

      4. Maybe they will accecpt Obola patients… Enjoy…

No nursing home for us. We are checking into the Holiday Inn!
With the average cost for a nursing home care costing $188.00 per day, there is a better way when we get old & feeble.
We have already checked on reservations at the Holiday Inn. For a combined long term stay discount and senior discount, it’s $49.23 per night. That leaves $138.77 a day for: breakfast, lunch and dinner in any
restaurant we want, or room service. Laundry, gratuities and special TV movies. Plus, they provide a swimming pool, a workout room, a lounge and
washer-dryer, etc. Most have free toothpaste and razors, and all have
        free shampoo and soap.
$5 worth of tips a day will have the entire staff scrambling to
help you. They treat you like a customer, not a patient. There is a city
bus stop out front, and seniors ride free. The handicap bus will also pick you up (if you fake a decent limp).

To meet other nice people, call a church bus on Sundays.

For a change of scenery, take the airport shuttle bus and eat at one of the nice restaurants there. While you’re at the airport, fly somewhere. Otherwise, the cash keeps building up.
It takes months to get into decent nursing homes. Holiday Inn will take your reservation today. And you are not stuck in one place forever, you can move from Inn to Inn, or even from city to city. Want to see Hawaii? They have a Holiday Inn there too.

TV broken? Light bulbs need changing? Need a mattress replaced?
No problem. They fix everything, and apologize for the inconvenience.

The Inn has a night security person and daily room service. The maid checks to see if you are ok. If not, they will call the undertaker or an ambulance. If you fall and break a hip, Medicare will pay for the hip, and Holiday Inn will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad
to find you, and probably check in for a few days mini-vacation.

The grandkids can use the pool.
What more can you ask for?

        • Eppe, thanx for the laughs, needed as today a real rat fuck,my only ? is,any Federal .22 in the mini bar for a little target practice.Your numbers are right really not a bad idea at all, hell, did it even cheaper traveling staying at hostels.

          • Maybe use some ebola tipped federal on the flash mobsters 🙂

        • I’m not laughing at this, I’m making this the plan. Long term care is very expensive, and this is a fairly neat idea for your parents who are not bed bound.

Eppe always makes a bright spot in the day.

          • Another old one, but everyone neds to laugh….Enjoy…

            EVER WONDER???

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Why women can’t put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why don’t you ever see the headline “Psychic Wins Lottery”?

Why is “abbreviated” such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do “practice”?

Why is it that to stop Windows 98, you have to click .”?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dish washing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn’t there mouse-flavored cat food?

When dog food is new and improved tasting, who tests it?

Why didn’t Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box
that is used on airplanes? Why don’t
they make the whole plane out of that stuff?

Why don’t sheep shrink when it rains?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

            • “Abbreviated” is a long word because it comes from Latin. Most of our short words come from Germanic languages. Most of the long ones come from Latin or Greek.

Having to click the “Start” button to shut down Windows is because Bill Gates is just plain evil.

They sterilize the needles for lethal injection out of habit.

Planes would be too heavy to fly if they were made out of “black box material.”

I know those were rhetorical questions, but I like answering them just for fun.

The one about Bill Gates might not be correct, but I wouldn’t bet on it since he’s also one of the geniuses behind “Common Core.”

            • We also drive on a parkway and park in our driveway.

A train stops at a train station. A bus stops at a bus station. In front of me there is a workstation….

          • Why do I feel Towns address may soon change, perhaps on a regular basis!

            • Mining company mowed down a power line, killing my in house server internet connection. It happens. For you silver stackers, this same mining company runs 7 days a week with 2 8 hour shifts. It costs them more to get the silver than it is worth. Hmmm, wonder why they are expanding their operations?

When I get corrupted by all the millions of dollars that are SURE to come my way from opening up a website, I’ll upgrade to redundant connections.

Till then, beans and rice… beans and rice…

Actually, I diversified on my last purchase. Dehydrated potato slices, corn meal and white winter wheat! Could you imagine eating beans and rice for weeks? Kill me now!

      5. Great !!

      6. Something IS different about this Ebola outbreak. Just ask the co-discoverer of the virus in 1976- Peter Piot.

The Co-Discoverer Of Ebola Never Imagined An Outbreak Like This

As a young scientist in Belgium, Peter Piot was part of a team that discovered the Ebola virus in 1976.

He took his first trip to Africa to investigate this mysterious disease. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, he met people who had contracted it. “I’ll never forget the glazed eyes, the staring and the pain … this type of expression in the eyes … telling me I’m going to die,” says Piot. “That I’ll never forget.”

Piot went on to study AIDS in the 1980s and became founding executive director of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS. He is now director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

In an interview with NPR’s Melissa Block, Piot tells the story of Ebola’s discovery: He and his colleagues were looking at samples from a Belgian nun who had died of a disease in Congo. The question he thought he was trying to answer: Was it yellow fever?

Instead it was a new disease. “I was excited,” he recalls, “because one of the dreams of any microbiologists is to discover a new pathogen. That was very excited. But I certainly didn’t think it would develop into such a human tragedy as we’re seeing now in West Africa.”

“This is absolutely unexpected and unprecedented,” he says. “We have here a situation where Ebola finds an enormously fertile ground in very poor countries with very dysfunctional health systems,” he says. “A country like Liberia in 2010 only 51 doctors for the whole country.”

He hopes there will never be another outbreak like this one. “I hope that this is the last epidemic where all we have [as treatment] is isolation of patients and quarantines and some supportive care, and we don’t have stockpiles of vaccines and therapies.”

There is potential for Ebola to spread to neighboring African countries, he says, but he is not worried about “high-income countries.”

“Our basic hospital hygiene is such that it is highly unlikely it would give rise to epidemics,” he says.

But he does warn that we are moving into a future where health risks will increase: “We’ll have to be prepared that in a globalized world, these viruses will spread much faster than ever before.”

      7. what worries me the most is a terrorist could go to Africa which they are already there. And then go to America through miami or texas or newyork and maybe all 3.It would be the cheapest and easiest way to destrot our way of life…ai have a feeling they are doing this already, food check water, protection . You are definitely not going to work to risk you’re whole family….GLTA I have a feeling karma is going to catch up with the us..

        • If I was a homicidal jihadist thinking that I’m going to be rewarded in the afterlife for killing infidels, then that’s what I would do.

I’d infect myself with Ebola and then travel to America. Preferably to Washington, DC to jack up the politicians, and then to New York City to take the crowded subway all day long.

          • FreeSlave now be truthful. If you were a homicidal jihadist would you really infect yourself with Ebola and die an antagonizing death over a period of days or maybe weeks, or would you do it with one swift flip of the switch. Trekker Out. BOOM!

      8. They will spread much faster due to international air travel thus the oceans/seas/mountain ranges do not offer the buffers they used to,a brave new world!

      9. Better fill out that list now before this stuff sells out. Its projected here in December. Well…there goes Christmas!

      10. Preparing yourself for an Ebola pandemic is all about nurturing your immune system. The thing that kills you is your own immune system over-reacting and destroying everything including essential body parts. A healthy diet, good hydration, proper sleep, and vitamin D will go along way to get your immune system to do its job.

        • Prepper, though agree, where is the fun in that lifestyle?!I suppose vitamin D from sun while fishing/fish for diet,am addicted to coffee so hydration covered but can drink a cup,10 minutes later go to bed with a book and in 20 minutes off to sleep,I guess this could work.

      11. Why in the hell did they bring them to the US. Bring three to the east coast then one to the Midwest? What the hell! Why didn’t they take them to a island in the Atlantic and set up something there?
With the kids (ha-ha) coming across the border bring in the new bugs that all the kids are getting and now we have Ebola patient in different location in the US.
TPTB are smiling like hell right now.
There will be a false flag or the real thing Obullshit will declare martial law to start the Civil War or Revolution.
        A.S.M.S.
        Sgt.

        • thats how it gets to the usa imo.

us medical centers think they can handle it and beat it. one center(which are never in anything but large cities) messes up once and its in the usa with chances of sspreading anywhere.

the mgt of this has been pathetic.

        • Island in the Atlantic, sure, what,Marthas Vineyard,me mum has put up with the billaries/obolas vacationing there, tourist season is over DAMMIT!Well, excepting the fishing derby/opening of deer season as derby closes.

          • How abut Plum island?

            • A nice place, but,am good with that. There are actually a lot of islands that would make sense in the North East, not too hard to heli a basic mini hospital to one, heck,a few old institutions that with a bit of scrubbing and some equipment would work out fine, but then, the chance of a spread lessens,ah well, seemed like a good idea!

            • W.C. & B.G
Great ideas. I’m for it. Right when he tees off on the first hole and he is playing 32.
              Sgt.

        • Sorry Sargent I don’t really see the problem with the start of civil war. I personally believe it is the only way to correct the direction of our country. I know if a war was underway my reaction to the “100’s of teenagers” (fucking animals) attacking white’s in a shopping center would have been much different. I know, I know the elections are only a couple months away and we will fix it then. Please that’s what I was told last time and the time before that and the time before that …..

No, I will no longer be voting for anything. Is a complete joke and waste of time.

          • Don’t give up. The act of voting alone is symbolic. I agree that it has little effect on the overall system, but it has an effect on your psyche. That effect is that you care enough to voice your opinion. Whether some machine counts it or not means nothing in the spiritual sense.

I only continue to vote to honor those who fought and died for my right, my ability to vote. It is a gesture that I continue to fight, and believe that we can eventually get to a reasonable system without killing each other.

Voting and voicing your opinion is force. Force of will. Force of morality. Use that force.

            • Wish I still had your optimism. Believe it or not I once did.

              • I hear you man. I guess I am still young and naïve, though my oldest is 20 and I am a grandfather! Ugh that sounds horrible.

                Reminds me of the quote:

Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill.

Most would not call me an optimist, but a downer pessimist.

                I prefer realist.

                Good day to your sir.

                • Town,a grandfather?!Hope you saw this post I had yesterday:

Ooops,a day late.To all you old fogies who bred and had children who bred happy “National Grandparents Day!I figure your old(and probably look it!)so you deserve a little recognition. Now take those grandchildren out, fire em up on ice cream and other high energy treats and dump em back on your kids wired to the max, payback,it’s a bitch!

                  • This is a well known tactic of revenge for grandparents…

And a well deserved one at that!

                • I guess my point in not voting really has nothing to do with optimism. It has to do with not contributing to the system. I have gone Gualt and no longer provide any benefit to society if it can be helped. I am tired of having effort on my part to improve things stolen by slugs and then used to advance their communist agenda. If the majority of us withhold our vote in addition to our labor and intellectual property it will send the message we do agree with the direction of the country. I truly believe its time to start doing whatever we can as individuals to force real change. The more the country must deal with people attempting to run things who have advance through affirmative action the quicker we will be on our way to correction.

                  • should say “we no not agree with the direction”

                  • I do like the Gault thought process. The problem is I still have mouths to feed and can not disconnect from the matrix just yet.

Now if you got that hologram hidden utopia where I can work without limits, let me know. That said, there is a wonderful storyline about a group of people who did just that: BIOSHOCK.

Everyone ended up slaughtering each other as progress was totally unregulated and science went amuck. Human nature says we will always be in conflict.

Why? Because we are animals. When an animal is hungry, and a small animal has something the larger animal wants, it is taken, by force – if not totally consumed itself. This is a base nature of everything on this planet.

Civilization has always been an illusion. An illusion of consent. Just as paper money is an illusion. Same exact concepts.

        • Sarge, I think you know why they brought them in, at least I hope so 😉

          • Perhaps to work at a manufacturing plant?Hmmm……

          • “G”
They are going to give us the blankets that they used!
            Sgt.

      12. I have to admit that I am starting to get worried about this. When the outbreak was first reported I thought it would be isolated like all the previous outbreaks. However, this one started at a trading post town that was nowhere near as isolated as the places it had been seen before. I still think an outbreak in an advanced country could be contained, but you sort of have to wonder if it would be? Even barring the normal conspiracy theories you still have to wonder about incompetence leading to it getting out.

      13. BRING IT ON!!! at least i can say i wont be running to the stores when all this SHTF!

        • Are you sure, plenty of Goldfish Crackers?!

          • Chunky soup also

          • Plenty. my kids wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t 🙂

      14. Mother should I build a wall?

        ht tps://music.yahoo.com/news/pink-floyd-co-founder-says-wall-anti-war-030850322.html

yes by all means challenge the politicians

      15. Gosh…with all the predicted doom and gloom that never materializes, how can anyone take this news seriously? Not one person in this country has been reported to have Ebola and the reports I read about containment efforts in Africa failing, I have to wonder if it is all just hype to sell news.
I certainly realize that it is easy to get all caught up in the prepper movement as I am a prepper but I am so tired of the chicken little stories that I feel the need to mock alot of this crap. Prepping in and of itself is certainly a wise thing but I was at a point of sleeping with an AR next to my bed because I was sure “they” were coming to get me in the middle of the night.
I have taken a break and stepped back and now coming back and looking at the news I see new people here all caught up in it. I have to chuckle at infowars these days. I get the real news from Drudge and others so I am no uninformed and I certainly do admire the Patriotism I see on this site but until I see some of the kinda far-fetched news coming true, I am only getting more skeptical. God bless you guys for your great intentions.

        • I understand where you’re coming from, WarFace. I read an article somewhere that described it as “prepper fatigue.”

          Still gotta be prepared though.

          • Yeah, burnout is what I call it. The thing is…I WANT the collapse. Ive been itchin for a fight. I want my country out of the hands of these lying cowardly pieces of shit and it ain’t happening. I know it sounds bad because we don’t know what the collapse may entail but Ive lived a great life but doing something great for humanity is something I have always wanted to do. I guess Im getting cynical in my old age.

        • War,understand, one can only do so much, why I use the shop worn phrase”Live for today, prepare for tomorrow”.One can burnout,so,watch a movie on net for free/enjoy some ice cream,do some things that MAY not be around due to man made/natural disaster. One not at least trying to enjoy life now what is the purpose of surviving excepting a little fighting for freedom.

          • I hear ya brother. I have been burnt out for awhile now. I moved all my savings into PMs and got cornholed so I have burnout pretty bad. I know maybe it sounds bad but I wish the shit would happen so we can reset and get on with life. I don’t wish anything bad on good people, the bad ones, not so much. Im glad there are so many new faces here as compared to when I backed off, at least people are waking up but Im all dressed up and have nowhere to go!

          • Good point Warchild, get out and have some fun, go exploring etc. One good thing about doom overload is it makes me think up all kinds of ways to do these fookers in lol. I’m always thinking of security stuff and traps etc. Besides it gives me an excuse to stock up on federal ammo (I like living on the edge and taking chances) 🙂

            • Damn,it’s one thing to live on the edge, but,Federal?!I believe the “Cease&Desist”order is freshly inked in their law dept. as we type!On a side note, why make .22 ammo and state does not work well in semi-auto rifles and pistols,by the time you get to that point how much further does one have to go during manufacture?I really do not get this, any one who knows why please inform Warchild!

              • WC, I have not seen that statement on any long rifle standard velocity or high velocity ammo. I have however seen that on some subsonic loads and .22 longs. But I haven’t bought any federal .22 for years so idk what it says now. In my experience all other brands of .22 long rifle high velocity work fine. Stingers and Aguilla hyper velocity work best for me. As long as they are copper plated most brands feed and function well. Maybe they are cutting back on powder to save $$. • Ha ha, I can understand that mistake. The colibris are cool too they are about as loud as a pellet gun and good for nailing critters in yer trash can. I load them single shot in a semi auto for small jobs lol. If you live in town they are a good round to not alert the neighbors..

                  • WC, Hey I just thought of something… Federal is a mil contractor! That means we have little to worry about from the 2 billion rounds dhs bought. While they are waiting to clear the failures we can move in and get em 🙂

        • @warface
I hear you and get what youre feeling but it aint all hype, buddy. The shit has hit the fan for people and towns and families and even some countries. Since you stepped back take a minute to remember what has happened in the past.

Theres been financial shitstorms, lost jobs, lost homes, lost families, lost lives, lost liberties, lost morals. With all of this theres been increased government, increased military police, increased violence, increased poverty, increased violations of the Constitution, increased political corruption, increased laws meant to strangle us all, and weve all seen increased illness and threats of weird viral outbreaks and epidemics.

Weve had terrorist hits, cop killer hits, gang hits, cartel hits, disaster after disaster, and an illegal MF running this country who aint qualified to shine shoes on USSA soil.

Theres bound to be fluff stories. We know theres sensational garbage out there too. But if you dont think the shit has hit the fan for folks yet, I want what youre drinkin.

      16. millions of people are going to die, i predict; given that just like everything else with govt; they dont do what they have to do until they have to.

serious situation; but sitcom logic applies here: sheldon cooper of the big bang theory said once when trying to avoid getting the flu; that even in prehistoric days that they figured out pretty early to kill the guy with the runny nose.

if the usa doesnt realy have a cure or can manufacture enough to keep this from being uncontrollable; they have to just let the infected die and let the virus die with them.

        • lena, the ironic part is viruses given time try not to kill the host, would be like burning the only stocked/standing supermarket left after a disaster.

          • Kinda like the fed reserve virus.

            • Perhaps the cure for the fed is Fe,nah,…,too easy!

              • WC, I think I read an article or so ago you are a 1911 fan. You too must be a genius! IMO that is the best pistola there is. Gawd I love a good 1911, gotta go now I’m having a 1911gasm 🙂

                • Fan,more a drooling/slack jawed troglodyte at least when looking at a nice one like mine!Model 70/5″ barrel/actual old school Colt, the kind with the slide ect. made for lousy conditions.I will admit looking forward to trying friends Kimber with tight tolerances ect.,pretty and nice on range,a trench/mud firearm, probably not(well, unless the only one availiable).Another friend in Co(my gold panning buddy)bought one of the Remington 1911’s and loves it,seen pics of it and hope at some point to meet in person. As someone stated a few articles back”.45,when shooting more then once would be silly!”

                  • Arghhhh….!Series 70,will this day just end already!Really,been a ball buster of a day!

11 Ways You Know You Live In A Country Run By Idiots
(posted by Dr. Eowyn at Fellowship of The Minds blog)

        1. If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally, you live in a country run by idiots.

        2. If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion, you live in a country run by idiots.

        3. If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote on who runs the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

        4. If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy leaders in Egypt, you live in a country run by idiots.

        5. If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat, you live in a country run by idiots.

        6. If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched, you live in a country run by idiots.

        7. If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more, you live in a country run by idiots.

        8. If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of grade school for saying his teacher’s “cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable, you live in a country run by idiots.

        9. If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cell phones, you live in a country run by idiots.

        10. If the government’s plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working, with 99 weeks of unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but can’t find work, you live in a country run by idiots.

        11. If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

        • Excellent one Soc….
This is one crazy messed up world we live in, is it not???

        • Added you to my list of regular Commentors worth reading.

      19. Socrates,I guess we are in a country run by Geniuses(not the federal fan Genius!),as #5 does not apply!

      20. This makes a Lot of sense: “The hypnotic power of germ propaganda” by Jon Rappoport

        • “Hey, look over here.”

Ebola, Malaysian airlines, ISIS, immigrants, baby bumps, nude celebs, IRS, Benghazi, NATO Summits, Ferguson, Bundy Ranch, ALS water dumps, Bieber, Miley, Honey Boo Boo, Ray Rice, Penn State, Apple watches…

Meanwhile the banker controlled corporate state and it’s minions of enforcers and regulators continue to rob you blind.

          • Always good way to mislead the fools JRS. Excellent point. This is how satan manages the banking cartel.

      21. Remember guy’s…When it comes to prepping, There is only so much you can do.

The most important thing is to stay vigilant.
        Secondly, Stay on course!

When you discover a gap…Fill it.

When confronted with an Insane world, you will have to do things that to a “normal” person, would seem Insane!

I am pretty well prepped up…Been at it for a while…
9/14 is coming up… I depleted my fun money account, and stashed the funds in the safe…Topped off the vehicles, and bought extra BEER!
Prepping at it’s finest…Nothing goes down…I still have the cash… I will use the gas eventually…
As for the beer…Trust me, it will get drank!!!

As for the potential of an Ebola outbreak here in the US…When/If it happens…Gonna buy a God load more Beer!!!

        • Nobody,9/14?What is the significance here,or a typo and meant 9/11,in which case will assume the beer got drunken!

      22. Ebola is opportunistic so it will have a hard time taking off in the developed West. People forget how awful and backward conditions are in Africa. Basic hygiene we would understand (flush toilets, hand washing, shower every day, etc.) do not occur in the majority of the population. Little of the food is refrigerated, markets are a cesspit of germs and bacteria, the average person regularly has diarrhea, dust particles pollute the air, hospitals barely function – it goes on.

Just keep your immune system topped up, don’t contract HIV or other immune-system-suppressing diseases, don’t get too stressed and run around like an idiot, stay chilled, eat well, and you will most likely be fine.

      23. All of this may be just theory to most folks, but for me it is very real. My wife and I and another person are in our second week of a 21-day voluntary quarantine. The “another person” just returned here from Sierra Leone. Her husband remains in a remote outpost there as “essential personnel”. This is strictly voluntary on our part because we believe it is the right thing to do. Keep in mind that there are a whole lot of other folks who are coming here and assuming that since they passed the screenings before getting here, that they are OK. If it gets here, that’s how it will happen. It’s a small chance, but it’s very real. We will be happy and relieved when the 21 days are up and we can continue on with our “normal” lives.

As I started to write this, she was able to contact her husband via chat. Situation is not looking good there. The Medical Officer (similar to a Physician Assistant here) in the region next to them, along with his wife, have both died of Ebola. The medical officer in their town has learned that the dead Medical Officer had continued treating people even after he learned that he himself was infected. The Medical Officer he was talking to told him that they could not handle even one case of it in their town, and that when it shows up there, he’s leaving (he can’t do anything about it anyway, so he’s not going to die trying). Those little glimpses of what is really happening there are truly frightening. People have asked, “why is he staying there?” The answer is that there is simply no way out at this point. Just getting her here was a major effort with multiple canceled flights, and plenty of “adventure” along the way. Africa is a very different place – which is why the virus will likely fizzle out and die here when it arrives. The conditions that make it spread there just don’t exist here.

        • Quarantined, best of luck and look forward to hearing from you folks after the 21 are up.

      24. DAMMIT Frank, was just thinking today may be a good day to get HIV,arghhhh…..!

      25. The perfect storm is brewing of sicknesses which will lead to panic then civil unrest and voila national guard in every major city with their “off with her head” toys

      26. Seems ebola and collapse could hit the US around the same time. I wonder how the fight against ebola will go when the power is out?

      27. Gee, about 60 thousand people would even make it spread quicker huh?

      28. I don’t trust any of the officials. I don’t even believe those two americans had ebola. I think they were props….Bring them back to america, let the masses see there is a cure…..do some tv interviews on the morning show. Heck, put a doctor out there and let him wow the masses with the fancy doctor lingo……all part of the scam.

The global multi billion dollar medical community is caught with their pants down. The global medical funding scam is over. All that money and squat to show for it.

We’re toast folks. Buy your cigarettes now cause that is the only thing that is going to stop this thing from spreading….just ask the polish people how they erradicated the plague….

        • I don’t know any polish people.

      29. As long as the main stream media continues portraying the epidemic as an “African” problem, absolutely positively nothing will be done in earnest to fight Ebola.

When, not if, the first confirmed case(s) shows up in North America or Europe then we’ll see the crap hit the fan. By that time the virus will be raging out of control across most of the planet. With a 60% mortality rate, we had better get ready for some truly astounding death tolls if time runs out and this virus fully decodes our immune systems.

And we’re not even talking about terrorists using weaponized Ebola yet my friends.

Except for a few airlines, no health officials has the stones to pull the plug and ban air travel to or from the affected nations, and history will point to the this epic failure as a chief reason why the virus has amplified exponentially.

        Prepare now friends.

        • Satori,

I’ve seen numbers as high as 170+ health workers in Africa have died from Ebola, and they were wearing protective suits from head-to-toe. I suspect this Ebola strain has survived long enough to have figured out our genetic weaknesses.

Plus, with politicians running this crisis, who don’t want to let a crisis go to waste, we had better start looking out for each other, and fast, because we might not get ANY help from the government until things get scary catastrophically bad.

If our health care administrators thinks they can ‘manage’ an Ebola outbreak in North America, they are kidding themselves. The system can barely handle a bad flu season much less the carnage that may be approaching.

Can you imagine dead Americans just lying in the streets after collapsing from Ebola like we see in Africa?

      30. I think the idea of Ebola not coming to the USA and spreading is based on the idea of “we are an advanced, 1st world country.” Really? Really?? When was the last time you were in Detroit, the south side of Chicago, Birmingham, Atlanta, , etc, etc. These cities are no better than a “modern” city in Africa, maybe even worse. If Ebola gets a foothold in our large cities, it will spread just like it is spreading in Africa.

      31. Interesting and eye opening
the elite travel all over the globe ,politicians shake hands kiss babies and some of them probably do some unspeakable acts, and none of them ever catch shit like this

        let that sink in

        • I seriously doubt they create any disease that they don’t have a cure for (themselves). When was the last time you heard of an elitist dying of cancer (unless they needed to get rid of them)? Ever heard of a royal cancer case? Or anything else for that matter, it is obvious whats happening..

      32. What happened to BE INFORMED ?? I went on vacation for a few weeks and now that I am back I do not see his posts any more…..

        • Ive noticed this too
hopefully he’s just taking a breather from this all or on vacation

          or
          he’s bugged out already

      33. Keep H2O2 and colloidal silver in your preps and you will be able to weather these viruses better than the naysayers.

We haven’t seen this new EV68 virus around here yet. But I guarantee inhaled H2O2 will stop it immediately. It is a natural way to kill any bacteria or virus.

If you have any questions, I’ll be glad to answer, but don’t respond with the big pharma “H2O2 will kill you” propaganda.
        molon labe

        • Good call WIprepped…

I’ve been huffing peroxide for a couple years now twice a day. I don’t even dilute it.

      34. Warchild…OOPS my bad…9/11.. Being retired military I often screw up dates…day month year not month day year.
so 9/11 came out as Sept 2011. In my mind the anniversary would be 9/14…or September 2014..
I also want you to know, I had not, at the time I wrote that, even unloaded the truck… See what happens when a man works in an unnatural condition!

So…The anniversary of 9/11/01 is approaching!
That being said, I will consider my blunder to be an omen!
Tomorrow I shall brave the world…Go forth, and buy more Beer.
It is a well known fact that only Beer can Ill all omens!

The weather man sez that a severe drunk front is moving in, and one should always be prepared!

      35. Ebola is not airborne!!!!!

However, it does appear to be spread through droplet transmission.

THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT DISTINCTION!

PPE precautions and other prevention measures are different for airborne transmission versus droplet transmission. While airborne transmission sounds scarier, droplet transmission is just as dangerous and is responsible for easy transmission for viruses such as influenza and norovirus.

Learn the correct route of transmission for the pathogen so that you can utilize proper PPE to protect yourself.

      36. I do believe what Steve Quayle’s contact warned about two weeks before this Ebola outbreak ever happened was correct. See here,

        http://www.stevequayle.com/index.php?s=33&d=1040

This dude warned us TPTB have colluded with high ranking government insiders to release a biological weapon that would spread, and spread quick to wipe out the population before (or during) an economic collapse as a scapegoat to coverup the treasonous crimes committed against America (and the rest of the world). Anyone agree?

      37. Dawn of the Planet of the Cockroaches

      38. Oh by the way… if you’re into fast food… now would be a really good time to stop being into fast food…

“Would you like fries with my coughed up spittle all over your hamburger?”…

      39. I suppose I should move to Iceland. In that simulation they were the only ones to escape infection.

      40. IMHO, Ebola will spread just fine in America. It will start in high population/density cities.

Ever seen a Hollyood movie of New York City at full rush hour? Yes, one sick person caughing will spread a cloud that hundreds can walk through.

      41. 12 Monkeys

        or

        Contaigen

      42. The lesson for African countries is not that they need more medical teams from the West but that they should learn, as did the elites of Europe did in the 19th century, that public sanitation and proper urban planning are key to good health and preventing the spreading of infectious diseases.

This thing will run and run until it naturally burns out unless proper public health measures are taken and urban planning is taken seriously. There will be no magic bullet or even a vaccine that can be disseminated fast enough to stop the spread. In fact, the very act of running around vaccinating people in a panic will spread Ebola further.

I suspect extreme control measures will be necessary at some point, with the banning of flights, cross-border travel and area lock-downs and ‘burn outs’ – flame-throwing infected neighborhoods – to tackle the spread.

      43. I long ago stopped looking under the bed and checking the closet for the boogyman. Remember, our appointed time is something we can’t escape, whether it be by ebola or a summer cold.

        • I read somewhere Africa has more than enough money to develop and to handle all its problems. It is just that most of that money sits in foreign bank accounts and is basically sent out of the continent by the elites. Africa is rich in wealth, the problem is that it is not used to improve the continent and living standards. Dumb-ass westerners keep sending money there and the elites keep sending the money out of Africa and straight into accounts in Switzerland etc. No clean water but lots of Gucci bags. Sad…

        • I have always struggled with the appointed time thing, If we have our appointed time, There would be no need to wear seat belts, wear a helmet, walk down the street of a Detroit neighborhood or take any precautions of any kind because absolutely nothing will kill us if it’s not our time.

      44. i have read the pros and cons many of you have stated here. from them may i just say that i think most of us here have been in the scouts at some point in time of our lives or believe the motto “be prepared” why else are we all preppers at some level? With this in mind i take in any and all info and decide if it is credible or not, after which i check my prep for possible upgrade. Look we all know(feel) something is going to happen so lets stick together and we can get through it all

      45. funny how most of these reports just turn into amazon compensation links.

      46. The key to all the calculations is the infection rate, which is THE wild-card. Preliminary estimates of this variable of 1.29-1.66, with the lower associated with communicability at day six, the latter at day 12. (http://ecologicallyoriented.wordpress.com/2014/08/24/estimating-the-spread-rate-in-the-current-ebola-epidemic/)

When I average these rates (to a generational time of 9 days), we now have an infection rate of 1.475. Plugging this into my excel spreadsheet, total infection of everyone will occur Generation at 58, approximately 522 days. [Note: This assumes the infection rate remains constant.]

If you’re looking for a calendar date, it would be 12/15/2015.

      47. When considering the flu pandemic of 1918, and the speed at which it spread, I believe that there is GREAT reason to be concerned. Allowing flights to/from infected regions to continue is absurd. I have no intention of listening to government statements regarding the degree of alarm I should feel, as the only thing the US government can be trusted to do, is lie to its citizens.
This is not the Y2K disaster type of scenario. It is a life or death issue that will ultimately depend on an individual’s ability to think, and plan, for themselves.
Watchful waiting is my current status of alert.
