Chinese EMP Weapons Program Confirmed by Intelligence Agencies; Designed to Attack US Carrier Fleets, Taiwan

Reports from organizations like the Center for Security Policy have confirmed that Electromagnetic Pulse, or EMP, weapons could potentially wipe out the entire infrastructure of the United States in a matter of seconds, the consequences of which may be the death of 9 out of 10 Americans within a period of one year after the blast. Many Senators, Congressman, and terrorism experts have said that EMP is the single biggest security threat the United States faces from foreign powers and terrorist organizations. Research by EMPact America indicates that a properly deployed EM pulse weapon, or weapons, has the capability of wiping out and disabling the power grid across the lower 48 states.

The threat is serious, and it just got a whole lot worse.

According to a declassified report obtained by The Washington Times the Chinese have been building and testing EMP weapons in an effort to offset their inferior technological capabilities, and are prepared to use those weapons in the event of conflict over the island of Taiwan (and likely other potential theaters of war):

China’s military is developing electromagnetic pulse weapons that Beijing plans to use against U.S. aircraft carriers in any future conflict over Taiwan, according to an intelligence report made public on Thursday.

Portions of a National Ground Intelligence Center study on the lethal effects of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and high-powered microwave (HPM) weapons revealed that the arms are part of China’s so-called “assassin’s mace” arsenal – weapons that allow a technologically inferior China to defeat U.S. military forces.

The declassified intelligence report, obtained by the private National Security Archive, provides details on China’s EMP weapons and plans for their use. Annual Pentagon reports on China’s military in the past made only passing references to the arms.

“For use against Taiwan, China could detonate at a much lower altitude (30 to 40 kilometers) … to confine the EMP effects to Taiwan and its immediate vicinity and minimize damage to electronics on the mainland,” the report said.

The report, produced in 2005 and once labeled “secret,” stated that Chinese military writings have discussed building low-yield EMP warheads, but “it is not known whether [the Chinese] have actually done so.”

The report said that in addition to EMP weapons, “any low-yield strategic nuclear warhead (or tactical nuclear warheads) could be used with similar effects.”

“China’s [high-altitude] EMP capability could be used in two different ways: as a surprise measure after China’s initial strike against Taiwan and other U.S. [aircraft carrier strike group] assets have moved into a vulnerable position, and as a bluff intended to dissuade the United States from defending Taiwan with a CVBG,” the Pentagon acronym for carrier strike groups.

Peter Pry, a former congressional aide who helped direct a commission on EMP several years ago, said the commission found that China plans for nuclear EMP strikes against the United States, as well as Taiwan and carrier forces, are part of its military doctrine and exercises.

“There is also evidence that China is developing, or has already developed, super-EMP nuclear weapons that generate extraordinarily powerful EMP fields, based partly on design information stolen from the United States,” Mr. Pry, president of the group EMPact America, said in an email.

If the United States is ever embroiled in a military conflict with another large nation – say Russia or China – we can fully expect that the first strike would be EMP-based weapons.

Taking down the power grid would lead to almost immediate chaos on the streets of America, affecting everything from food transportation systems and gas pumps to phone communication and essential utility services like water.

      1. ” One Second After “. Is a must, but hard read. I know everyone here would ” get it ” in a few seconds but most of this country would be trying to call the power co.

        • My wife and I just read it, good food for thought.

        • I thought about buying about 20 copies and anonymously sending them to friends to wake them up. I could include a copy of this article with it to further push the point of preparation.

          • Everyone slso needs to read World Made by Hand. It picks up after the “event” has already happened to show you what life would/could become. Not an EMP event book.

        • Thats next on my list. I just finished reading “Patriots” now Im reading a book called “The Things That Keep Us Here” about an average family after a pandemic sweeps the world.

I heard “As Wind in Dry Grass” was a hard read to. I plan to read ALL the “hard reads”.

          • I plan on reading “The Road” too. Saw the movie and it was huge downer! 🙁

            • The book is not exactly the feel-good story of the century, either.

            • “The Road” is a good read. Grueling, but good.

          • “Lights Out” by David Crawford is a pretty decent book as well, worth reading.

            • Lights Out and One Second After…two great books that REALLY opened my eyes to the danger we are truly in as a nation!!

            • Agreed I’ve read and reviewed both books. I prefer Lights Outs slightly if I had to choose.

              Joe

          • Actually,I stumbled across a series of (legal) torrents that have something definitely worth looking into.

Hunt down “A-Z of Bushcraft & Survival Skills”… legal (not pirated), and promising.

        • They are not going to use am EMP. We would hit them ten times harder with ours. It’s just like nukes, when both sides have them, then they will not be used.

          • That only works if both sides look at things the same way. Us is totally tech dependent, china, not so much, getting there though. Probably in 20yrs the risks would be too high to play that game of chicken, but today china has a huge incentive to blow off an emp, and if the US returns the favor, well who is better off at the end, I mean besides Russia of course.

          • If one country uses them the other would not be able to launch one. Launching requires computers, computers get fried in an EMP event. The fact that we could be hit by an EMP is very real. Especially since our defenses have been removed to the south leaving us very open to it. It’s all part of the NWO, agenda 21 what ever you want to call it.. it will happen by mid summer if not sooner.

        • The 1881 Household Encyclopedia is a must have guide in hard copy…because that’s where you will be after the event…1881

      2. I agree that “One Second After” is a real eye opener! It was a life changing book for me. I made my family read it including my teenagers. Sobering work of fiction that very well may become our reality in the not so distant future.

      3. The only thing that helps me sleep at night is that they still “need” us to buy stuff from them. Our economys are entertwined enough, I think, (I hope) that they know they would be cutting thier own throat. Scary stuff.

        • I disagree. They don’t need America or anyone else now either. America has already been and gone, so get over it. Theres no chance whatever that the US will get to the number one position again. Not now. Not in 100 years. Your best bet would be to learn Chinese.

        • It gets even deeper than that… and yes, China would indeed be cutting their own throats.

If China launched even a single rocket*, even for just EMP purposes, the US would launch nuclear missiles in return (and they’re hardened against EMP)… and the US has more than enough to take out every major city/military center there. And there’s the EMP reciprocation attack, which China is in a far worse position to survive because of their population – that is, China needs technology (and more importantly, North American food sales/shipments)to keep their population from starvation.

          * (Note that I said rocket instead of missile for a reason – in order to place and effectively use an EMP device, you need something capable of far higher orbits than a typical ICBM can do. This doesn’t preclude building a lot of ICBMs and ‘carpet-bombing’ a country, but either option gets expensive in a hurry…)

While China does have the rocketry to place EMP-enhanced warheads in the right places, it would require quite a few of them to do the job enough to satisfy ‘One Second After’… which in turn requires at least a dozen rather large rockets – enough to get everyone’s attention should they be built.

The whole Taiwan thing is (albeit slowly) becoming a moot point anyway. IMHO, China likely doesn’t care anymore. Taiwan is already a separate entity, and is independent in all but name. Funny thing is, IMHO Taiwan’s population really doesn’t care too much about this fact – they’re too busy making money off the rest of the world.

          • Speak of the devil…….LoL
I just sent an email this morning to someone on here wondering where you had been after not seeing you around for some time now??

            • Been a little busy 🙂

New job, pushed out a guest article for shtfblog.com (been hanging out there a bit too), and otherwise had to play host for family on top of all that (most of ’em live back East).

          • Your presumption of needing something more than a typical ICBM for an effective EMP attack is completely in error. Having served over 30+ years in military aviation including weapon systems, any of the modern improved range SCUDs will suffice quite nicely, for they have ranges of 1,000-1,300km and can reach apogee of 85-95 miles. All that is needed is to load these on various sea going vessels of appropriate size, approach with stealth and launch over their intended sections of the country.

Here’s a nice graph to show the various distances:

            http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b2/High_altitude_EMP.gif

            • Thank you for saving me the trouble of rebuttal.
              Odd Questioner said
“you need something capable of far higher orbits than a typical ICBM can do. This doesn’t preclude building a lot of ICBMs and ‘carpet-bombing’ a country, but either option gets expensive in a hurry…”

Odd, ICBM’s can achieve altitudes ranging from 500 to 750 miles, whereas, an effective EMP nuclear strike could be achieved at 80 miles or more. ‘Carpet-bombing’ with ICBM’s? Yes, its called M.I.R.V.- Multiple Independently targetable Reentry Vehicles. One Trident II SLBM can carry up to 12 warheads, which seperate sometime after apogee. Thus, a single missile can strike several targets, or can redundantly strike fewer targets. Now that is definitely an intimidating weapon system regardless of how one uses it.

            • That’s nice, but ballistics disagrees with you.

First off, you need to reach an altitude of 300 *miles*, and do so over the center of the country, in order to satisfy the ‘One Second After’ scenario. Your SCUD can only do 1300km (740 miles), and the nearest border to Kansas/Iowa/similar is Canada, well over 900 miles, or 1400 kilometers. Now – how exactly do you propose to smuggle a fully-functioning SCUD missile and its required launch material into the US, pray tell?

Ah – but you mention doing it by sea… which means you need around a dozen ships to gain sufficient coverage, since you’re only getting 90 miles of altitude. Here’s what you need:

              * At least two w/ six missiles among them for Atlantic coastal cities – one in the Northern atlantic coast, one in the Southern.
              * At least two w/ four missiles among them for the Pacific coastal cities, spread out the same as the Atlantic.
              * At least one in the Great Lakes w/ at least 12 missiles on board to have any hope of reaching the northern inland cities
              * At least one in the Gulf of Mexico w/ at least 10 missiles for the southern inland cities.

…and you’ll probably still not be able to do much with Salt Lake City, Denver, Casper (Wyoming), Montana, etc.

You’ll also need a sufficiently stable platform to launch it from, which means having big enough ships to do it. Ships which are incidentally also going to be large enough to catch the attention of the Coast Guard, Navy, etc.

So… you’re going to have to smuggle at least 32 SCUD missiles (with spares to account for failure rates), plus all the launch equipment, fuel, etc, on at least six large ships. I’m pretty certain that 32+ missiles and six large ships are going to be noticed if they go missing.

Assuming you somehow manage to avoid your theft getting noticed (hey, we’re talking China, right?), you can stick to shipping lanes and use some form of subterfuge, but shipping lanes will not be ideal launch points for your Gulf ship.

…and still, the first nuke to detonate will quickly have their launch points determined long before detonation, the ships will be backtracked to their origination point, and the culprit likely determined with certainty by the time the first nuke detonates. This in turn will result in a mass launch against whatever country is at fault 30 minutes later, with a still *fully functional* nuclear force… especially if something is brewing to a flash-point in Taiwan anyway.

PS: Your graph doesn’t show one vital statistic: distance/effectiveness from blast.

            • A second PS: you’ll likely manage to get two missiles off of each ship before the ships themselves become vapor. 😉

            • J Gibbs: What is your take on all the fuss about comet ELEnion? How big is it IYHO?

            • @Hermes:

“Odd, ICBM’s can achieve altitudes ranging from 500 to 750 miles…”

Problem is, that flight profile is parabolic, not constant. An ICBM wasn’t designed to get up enough speed to achieve orbit, which is pretty much what you would need to get the altitude *and* the distance required. By the time you get anywhere useful for a ‘One Second After’ scenario? In the vast majority of cases, your ICBM will have run out of gas long ago, and will have fallen well below the altitude you need to do a decent job.

              Start here: http://steeljawscribe.blogspot.com/2007/05/missile-defense-101-icbm-fundamentals.html

Another monkey wrench in your works: The higher the loft you need, the smaller the payload you can carry.

Got one more for you: This is what China is currently capable of:
              http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/report/2006/2006-prc-military-power05.htm

The DF-31 (mentioned) might hit Seattle. Upcoming models *might* do the job, but again, only their space agency is capable of sending a big enough warhead high enough to satisfy the ‘One Second After’ scenario.

Otherwise, you’re stuck with what I described up top… multiple IRBMs launched from ships, unless Canada and/or Mexico suddenly start hosting missiles with sufficient altitude _and_ range.

          • Hi Odd, with all due respect you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. An ICBM will work just fine. One does not need to put the goddamned weapon in orbit (which requires at least 19kmph) in order to detonate at the correct altitude. You just kind of lob it up there at a lower (non-orbital) velocity. North Korea could probably “do it”, at this point.

I know this for a fact, I lived on an SSBN for many years. Don’t expect you to take my word for it, dyodd.

        • Yes they would like us to buy their stuff, but with what? Dollars? For how much longer? They are not stupid though and wouldn’t want one of our sub commanders getting even for our loss. They’d manage to ” let” al queda make it happen.

          • China buys/uses US Dollars to keep their own currency artificially depressed, which they need in order to keep their own economy growing. If we lose, they lose, pure and simple.

        • MIT,
I disagree with you on this. We buy their products on credit! We buy their products, then they purchase our mortgage backed securities (mortgages packaged into securties), our treasury debt, our securitized credit card debt, securitized auto debt. In other words, what one part of our society buys, another part of our society has to borrow. They don’t want our debt anymore, they don’t want our toilet paper dollar, so what can we sell them? What else do we have in this country in great abundance? Oh yeah, I forgot, we can sell them our abundant supply of trial lawyers, socialist politicians, illegal aliens, and welfare mooches.

          • “trial lawyers, socialist politicians, illegal aliens, and welfare mooches.”

Lol! Nahh, the PTB need these people to declare war on the middle class.

          • Not everything we buy is on credit. Most corporations are not, just look at places like Walmart. Right now China needs us because we are still a consumable nation. Also, they need our food! They’d starve without our exports of ag products. But not for much longer, as they are steadily making new deals with new friends in countries we never thought they would.

            • Yeah, imagine a walmart that only carried stuff made in america. It would make 7-11 look like a super mall. It would be bad for both sides. They do neeed our food. What makes me nervous is the how much of our land they are buying up. City and rural. I’d hate to see the grand total of what they own. And, yes, the new deals they are making (that we find out about after the fact) are cause for concern.

            • Think about what you wrote for a second. China needs us to buy their stuff, but if we devalue the dollar with our printing press do they really want FRN toilet paper fir their products?

And what better way to get more crops then to kill off 270m Americans, move in as hero saviors ( blame it on NK since they are food competition any way), and then offer to buy our food for their new printed WW money.

        • Something to consider. if we had total devastation, and lost 250-300 million people, it would obviously be over for the United States. If the Chinese lost 300 million people, that would be a drop in their bucket, and that many fewer mouths to feed. They don’t really need the United States. They can get by without us.
Something else to consider. When they attack us with an EMP, they have enough troops to outlast us, AND to defeat private citizens with guns. It’s simply a matter of numbers.

      4. China to US: “Nighty-night bitches”

        • well, it looks like they’d have to use E3 pulses to do any real damage to the underground infrastructure, and it would have to be HUGE as the E3 stuff is not as potent as the higher frequency E1 and E1 pulses – but travels farther underground… The US would still take the country out from any number of nuke sites around the country/world. lights out for us, life over for them.

a good read on EMP: http://www.thespacereview.com/article/1549/1

/the only way out of the depression is war.
//which “depression” am i talking about? history does tend to repeat itself…

          • Read the Art of War sometime. And please don’t be so arrogant. The US hasn’t won a war in 66 years. Korea was a draw, you lost Vietnam and ran away. Gulf War 1 was a compromise, Somalia was a fail!! And you have yet to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, because you can’t win it!! If the Chinese use EMPs or whatever and you fucking morons “retaliate” with Nukes, then really, you both deserve lights out/life over as you put it.
You’d think, that after centuries of wars, untold misery and death, humans might have evolved a little bit further. But we’re really no better than chimps. I wonder what bullshit lie they use to start this next round of killings.

            • Points of order:

Korea was a *UN* led effort, and is still ongoing (see also why we still have a DMZ). Officially, it is still under truce.

Vietnam was originally a draw, by treaty. A democratic Congress refused Pres. Ford’s request for to help when North Vietnam invaded… long after the vast majority of of US troops left. Overall and strategically, it could be considered a loss, but is far more complex than your somewhat ignorant statement insinuates.

Desert Storm (another UN-led war) ended like it did thanks to coalition ally requests that it end that way.

Somalia? Hardly worth considering as a skirmish, let alone a war. Now if any real effort had been put into it… Bosnia was on the same scale. Strangely enough, you completely fail to mention Bosnia, which has long ago settled down. I wonder why that is?

“And you have yet to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, because you can’t win it!! ”

Iraq is pretty much set and completed; only time will tell if the efforts were worth it or not.

Afghanistan OTOH is still a work in progress.

They are two separate entities, after all. The only reason they get lumped together is because Bush wanted it that way. OTOH, they are independent entities.

That said, there have been ancillary effects that we have yet to see complete on their own, for both good and ill.

If you’re going to claim to know anything about military history, it, well, helps to actually know some before you go off on your troll/tirade. 😉

“But we’re really no better than chimps.”

In many ways, you’re right. OTOH, I find it strange that you go off on this long tirade over a hypothetical that seems as remote as you getting spontaneously gang-banged on the street by a roving pack of gorgeous bikini models.

            Really?????

            We are compromised already!!!!!!!!!

            Read;

            A secular article snippet, from 2009;
            http://unconstrainedtruth.wordpress.com/2009/10/18/obama-administration-to-show-russia-our-nuclear-sites/

President Obama is allowing Hillary Clinton to meet with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to form a treaty between the US and Russia. This treaty would allow the Russians to visit nuclear sites in America to count missiles and warheads.

            • all this talk about nuclear weapons–everyone needs to remember our best weapons systems. The nuclear submarines in our arsenal. there is enough missles there to end life on the whole earth many times over. They could get the entire US from coast to coast with an EMP, but they cant get the subs. payback is a bitch.
Basically, nobody wins. The Chinese have a much easier time destroying our economy, and hacking our computer systems.

      5. I have lived and worked in China for six years. China and Taiwan have had ever improving relations and the mainland is
Taiwan’s main trading partner and area for investment. All this “Cold War” style rhetoric sounds like it comes from Orwell’s Ministry of Truth (aka The Pentagon) “…we have always been at war with East Asia…”

        • I thought we were always at war with Eurasia. report to the ministry of love for processing. You will be known as un-chickenlegs until we can wipe every instance of your and your attitude from all records.

\almost time for the two minutes hate.

          • Now that was funny!

          • It was Eastasia. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

(…as /me settles down to continue reading Goldberg’s prose, in strict defiance of the Ministry of Truth.)

        • Agreed, big-time.

      6. I find it hard to believe that China would use an EMP on our carriers. The reason is this: The US buys computer chips from China that are used in our weapons. Its already known that these chips can sometimes contain back doors that could allow the producer the capability to render the weapon ineffective. Remember, we don’t really produce things in America anymore.

      7. Think about it. If (when) they do this we can and will do this to them. We have a far greater ability than they or anyone else does. I think we would beat them to the punch. WOW what a great way to pay them back for what we owe them. Sleep well.

      8. I have a hunch that we’re pretty much screwed no matter what. If the elites can’t achieve their 90% wet dream kill-off numbers one way … they’ll get them another way.

        • Well the Germans rounded up Jews and slaughtered them in millions. Had they fought back instead of meekly walking to there deaths …… Well, let’s hope, if the elites try and get rid of 90% us today that well fight back to remove the 10%. Better to die fighting than to not resist and die for nothing.

      9. If they use them against mainland USA, we could be screwed. If they use them against our carriers, THEY are screwed. Our carriers have been hardened against EMP for decades. All it takes are a few strategically placed radio valves to do it.

What scares the hell outta me is that China is supposedly one of the nine nations with scalar weapons. Any weapon that makes nukes look like fourth of july fireworks in the hands of a nation hostile to us makes me nervous.

      10. The scary thing about these EMP weapons are their effect on the environment after detonation. Amerika has what, 75 nuclear power plants or thereabouts? Imagine half of those facilities being cut off from grid entirely and their back-up diesel generators failing. The USA would become inhabitable.

        • Most nuclear plant designs have the diesel generators working to shut down the reactors. 😉

Now the nuclear waste treatment plants OTOH…

        • The US would become uninhabitable—-after a couple hundred million died from starvation. So many ways to die–are there not??

      11. Much of the power of EMP is myth and legend.

Remember, it will certainly tear up the large infrastructure. Those huge, long, multi-towered transmission lines you see going cross country, those could easily get blasted. Now the wires, but the equipment on each end. …some of which has an 18 month replacement cycle.

Even smaller systems like the local urban and rural electrical systems could see some damage.

These legends of every computer and every cell phone and every automotive ECM being taken out is just bullshit fantasy. However, if there is no power to run them, they’ll be pretty worthless. Most everything is shielded to keep RF in and that will keep EMP out, mostly. Its the unshielded, long line, transmission facilities that would suffer the most.

I need to pick up “One Second After”.

        • No need (to pick up the book). If you’re an EE, it’s good for a laugh (and not a little nit-picking), but otherwise it’s pretty much a scare-book.

There’d be damage, sure, but nothing like a complete meltdown.

          • Horseshit. No power, no pumps, no water. Stone age here we come. It is easy physics and ya don’t some dumb fuck engineering degree. My kid is an ME and don’t know shit if he’s not looking for it.
I trade for a living and know engineers that lost their ass trying the business of ponzi guessing. Funny shit when people think that their degree means that they should actually know something.
BS degrees, is the perfect fit.

            • Can’t speak for MEs, but I can tell you that “no power, no pumps, no water” is, in your own words, “horseshit”. Especially from one single airburst over Kansas.

Not saying it’s impossible, but it’ll take a whole lot more than what the book describes to pull it off.

          • OQ…How do you know that an EMP is not a threat? Not just your opinion, facts please!

            • I didn’t way that it is not a threat – I said that the book ‘One Second After’ has a bad premise and faulty technical facts in it – in order to have one explosion launch an EMP wave that would take out the entire US power grid? It would have to be one big momma of a blast, and you’re still faced with the problem of getting it there, in spite of ballistics. This means you need something that only a full-blown space agency has hold of.

overtheedge actually provided the facts a long time ago. Let me repeat/quote what he posted below.

              (original at https://www.shtfplan.com/emergency-preparedness/super-emp-capable-of-disabling-power-grid-across-lower-48-states_06202011 )

              =begin quote=====
I read this article and something wasn’t right. So I read it again and then went looking at the documentation that was declassified. No, no, no I don’t use wiki or some other dope on a rope quote.

So here is my problems with the article:
              300 miles altitude
              Coast to coast impacts
              Delivery system
              Weapon yield

              So why my beef?
Maximum Compton recoil effects are about 35 kilometers altitude. This depends on what the ionosphere is doing at the time which is dependent on the magnetosphere. At 35 kilometers, no coast to coast effects unless we have a 500kM burst. But here is where the problem arises. The dreaded inverse square law. Double the distance and you have to quadruple the yield to get the same energy deposit per square meter. You will get a bigger footprint and ergo wider area effected on the ground. It is figured you need a minimum of 10+kT yield with gamma ray enhancement. So conservatively figuring the yield at 10kT within 5kM, raising the burst altitude to 500kM is roughly a 100X increase in distance requiring 10,000X increase in yield to maintain the same energy deposit per square meter. Hmm, 100MT yield? No, I don’t think so. Even the largest H-bomb had a yield of only 50-60MT. So, let’s drop the gamma ray energy level by 100. This gets us to 1MT, quite do-able. Except we are still faced with delivery system.

1MT nuclear devices are much larger than a bread box and weigh a damn sight more. Boosting this to 500kM is a pretty mean feat. Now imagine doing this in a ballistic curve with the detonation altitude at 500kM over GZ. To put this in perspective altitude wise, most low-earth orbiting satellites are in the 500-1000kM range.

I don’t think I’m gonna lose any sleep over this. Oh and here is something for your purusal.

        • I think if you really do some more research on EMP’s, I think you’ll find you’re basicallly wrong on your assesment. the military may be hardened against emp damage, but the civilian network is no where near protected. With most power grids, especially in the summer, maxed out, it would take much to shut the whole system down for a long time. That’s a fact.

One second after is a great read. I still have not read The Patriot, but I have heard its a good read as well. I kinda interesting in some of your reloading knowledge. Which reloading system do you use? I have been looking a the Lee Classic but I would like to have some feedback from somebody that has used this loader. Any info would be helpful

          Thanks
          DPS

          • If you would like to read Patriots but don’t feel like spending the time or money, here’s an alternative. James Wesley Rawles wrote a screenplay for a movie called Pulling Through, based on the novel Patriots. It’s quicker to read and you get the main gist of the story. It’s online, its free, and it’s a great read. Just google “pulling through screenplay” or click on my name to get the link. I highly recommend it for anyone who is serious about preparing or bugging out if and when the SHTF. Warning: You will feel unprepared when you read this but I hope it will stimulate your thinking and give you ideas how be more prepared than you are now.

            • Prepper

Thanks buddy it was a great read. Now I do feel unprepared. But it sure has given me many idea’s

              Thanks Again buddy,

            • When I click on your name I go to a blank site. Probably me but just sayin…..

      12. This is much ado about nothing. The world loves us because we elected Obama, the media told me so!!

        • Spot on. Plus he apologized to everyone already.

      13. Still reading One Second After..

Dont know how to feel about this precieved threat yet..
        could it be just posturing?

could it be another cold war reteric?

could it be a hold over our head threat?

China would be just as devistated if they fucked the US like this, because what comes around , goes around..they arnt the only ones that knows how to play this game

      14. “””The declassified intelligence report, obtained by the private National Security Archive, provides details on China’s EMP weapons and plans for their use. Annual Pentagon reports on China’s military in the past made only passing references to the arms.”””

some more declassified material to keep the sheeple scared so we can keep our vast military in operation

        • that’s all it really is in the end.

          MOAR WAR

why? to distract from the fact that our society is crumbling like a stale taco

But it’ll be okay- cuz…”When every worker is staffed in the army and fleet, we’ll have full employment- and nothing to eat”

      15. I’m surprised the US isn’t planning on using one on us under a false flag attack. What better way to clear the path for an easy invasion/sale of our valued property.

        • And to wipe out 14.4 trillion in debt and a 100 trillion in future obligations.

      16. One Second After got me thinkin…
now i’m no expert, but i did a little reading on how to “harden” or shield something from an EMP, and i found some info on faraday cages, these apparently protect electrical items by re-alligning the magnetic field around it? so i went out and bought a galvanized steel trash bin, lined the inside with cardboard, then i cut two of the three prongs off an old extension cord (leaving only the ground) bolted one end to the bin, and plugged it into the wall. i tested it by putting an FM radio in the bin, even with the lid cracked a little i still get a signal, but with the lid closed it goes completely to static. (saw this trick on youtube)

i went on craigslist, and picked up a spare wire harness, CDI box, stator, coil, and regulator/rectifier for my bug out bike, wrapped them in foil, and put them in a 50cal ammo can. i’m storing this in the bin, along with an am/fm radio, walkie talkies, a spare wristwatch, and my night vision scope (not sure if this would be affected, but hey, i had the room)
it might be overkill, and i’m not really sure how effective this might be, but what price peace of mind?
total cost of the faraday trashbin project: less than $50

        • Nice investment. A key ingredient in a post EMP is power and transportation. I can’t afford an old vehicle so I’m trying to learn what components of my Honda Element I’d need to stow in a faraday box to get it up and running. I bought two solar packages just to charge batteries and hooked the two panels together and put the second inverter in my faraday box. So if the two panel system I use fails I think all I need to do is replace some coduit and the inverter and I still get charged batteries.

          • Fuck the EMP..i have 3 vehicles that will not be affected
            1928
            1968
            1953

My 08 Gov motors will be pushed to the front of my drive as a bunker, or cover

            • What is the 68?

            • 440 RT Charger

            • Red

            • Had a roomate back in college that had a big bloc Super Bee w hood shaker. What a blast!

            • VFR, Likely the ignition coils and the condensers on the old vehicles would become useless after the EMP burst. Coils are particularly vulnerable. Better consider the faraday cage for some spares.

        • I built a faraday cage for my diesel genset. Should it grounded, doesn’t need to be grounded, bla bla. THe military know how to protect their shit. No good info from your friendly neighborhood gubbermint.
Protecting the water supply is next. A solar genset that can’t power a water pump is useless as tits on a bull.

          • Oh, and I store a pile of batteries in an old microwave oven.
Google 1859 carrington event about CME that could kill alot juice in the power infrastructure.

            • Do ya really think batteries would be affected? i keep mine in my fridge, but thats more of a temperature thing…

      17. Using #10 cans filled with crisp $10 federal reserve notes can shield you from any of the effects of an EMP attack. Just make sure you have surrounded yourself with the #10 cans and that they are completely full of those wonderful, crisp $10 bills. Someone said in another thread that we should all watch out for $1000 bills must be hallucinating…$1000 bills have not been printed since 1946 when all denominations larger than those wonderful, crisp $100 bills were no longer printed. Just stick to the crisp $10 bills, you’ll be glad you did, and remember to stack those cans as high as you can so you can protect yourself against the terrible Chinese EMP pulse coming to a hidey-hole near you!

      18. well folks war is a busyness therefore not all of you lot will be kill just the sufficient amount. a war will china will be no winner only looses, and don’t forget Russia and India. as well Israel and Iran, France and the UK. so in the end it is the poor folks that will loose all the rich folks will be somewhere else. therefore all this rhetoric of us missiles is useless, the us in the past 10 years has done nothing but loose wars, Afghanistan, Iraq Libya Iran, and now the end is soon coming. why courage of the talibans and patience, they can fight for the next 300 years “can you”.. so there is your answer the thing to do is for all us servicemen to go home, humiliated or proud there is no difference the difference is if they are alive or dead..

        • The worst part aboutmit is that those guys are so specialized they won’t be able to find work…thousands of engineers have been laid off here in Houston over themlast two years… I know several, and there is no work to be had…and when a job does pop up there are hundreds of applicants… The only thing they can really do is switch careers/industries for the time being. Problem is, just about every industry is getting hammered now…. And it’s only going to get worse…. The depression is right here and now for millions of Americans and it’s not going to let up anytime soon, unfortunately.

          • IMHO/IMPO? It never hurts to generalize once in awhile.

I know of too many guys in IT who get paralyzed because the professional title on their business cards say “Oracle DBA”, “MCSE”, or “.NET Developer”. Sometimes, I’ve found that the best (though sometimes only) jobs out there are those which require you to step outside your comfort zone and learn new things. 🙂

      19. I think I lost my mind at a truck stop in Albuquerque. If anybody sees it, please return to me asap. And be careful, it’s a fragile little thing…
Last weekend me and Bubba tested one of them emp proof trash cans. First, we used his trash can since we didn’t want to buy a new one. And we put all our important electronic stuff in it. (things like garage door openers, cb radios and tv remotes, you know, the most vital stuff we had) Then we built one of them Mintos in a 2liter coke bottle bombs and taped 6 old photography flash cubes to the outside. Rigged it with an old battery powered camera to go off just as the coke bottle ‘rocket’ reached it’s peak. Right when we had launched the thing, Bubba’s wife Earline comes out to ask us where her new blue tooth is. Without thinking, Bubba says “it’s in the can!” So Earline pops the lid off and bends over and starts rummaging through the cb mikes, old happy meal boxes and stuff (in hindsight, we shoulda emptied the trash out before testing.) Now , keep in mind, it takes several seconds for them Mintos bottle rockets to top out. While it’s climbing, Earline turns and looks, kinda puzzled like, at Bubba and says “what the heck is Junior’s new playstation doin’ in the trash? It ain’t broke already is it?” Just then, the rocket hit peak altitude, the bottle exploded and all the flash cubes started popping at once! Earline looked up just in time to get a face full of soggy Mintos, busted flash cubes and diet coke. I never knew a large woman could jump that high. I fell over laughing, Bubba turned white as a ghost and his dog ‘Measley’ who was watching the whole thing, got so scared he peed right in the middle of the driveway. Can’t say the test was a complete failure though, we ended up with some great pictures of me and Bubba running for our lives.

      20. LMBO…..your a hoot!

      21. Interesting article. In a catastrophe situation, it’s always good to have some locally grown food handy. Start a garden in your yard and enjoy the fresh vegis. Local merchants and suppliers are very important so next time you are shopping, skip WalMart and support your local economy.

      22. This EMP thingy just won’t go away. Yes, there is a slight potential, slight.

The use of nukes is verbotten. The world would only tacitly accept useage for defense purposes only. NOT pre-emptive defensive attacks. How do you spell suicide? Ever hear of launch on warning?

So what is the greatest, but still damn small, possibility? Portable EMP devices by non-governmental organizations. Let just one be detonated and we will see deniability by all governments and one helluva world-wide hunt for the perpetrators. The perps will never outrun technology when the world is searching for them.

Just my opinion. Stick to dealing with the current crisis and forget about what none of us can fix/repair/replace. Many folks in the US have already experienced the lights going out. In an economic meltdown, most of us will get the same experience. Deal with the most probable first. Most of the lesser probabilities will already be covered once you have prepped for most probable.

Or maybe … the folks that lived through the 18th, 19th and early 20th century were made of far sterner stuff than these generations. Maybe we (the collective world-wide we) are just a bunch of whinning, incompetent, oxygen thieves stealing the air of those who not only can, but do as well. Some of us will attempt to maintain our disqualification as oxygen thieves. Many of us will succeed. Succumb to fear and gain instant DQ.

Good points OQ, NSG, Chickenlegs and Netranger.

      23. In the event of an EMP attack, all Patriots with mobile capability in the Southwest should bring their preps, weapons, and ammo to Dogtown Resevoir.

Dogtown Resevoir is a first class bugout location, if you can find it.

        • Durango, how about us in the NW. Just saying. “hey kids, let’s go for a walk.” once a guy doesn’t have to worry aboshooinging up for work or making the mortgage a little outdoor time might be fun. Wife is an OB nurse and I’m a paramedic any use for us?

          • I love iPhone spell check. Should be “showing up”

          • JAFO: I responded once. It didn’t take. I’ll try again. Of course you would be welcomed, but its a long way from the NW after a SHTF EMP.

You should probably connect with folks in the NW and find a BOL similar to Dogtown Reservior with comparable characteristics for an EMP SHTF that moves US back to the last century or more:

National forest, 300 days of sunshine, large lake, lots of game, lots of fish, lots of wood. Clearings for food production by sq ft gardening solar greenhouses within 1/2 mile. Toilet facilities, concrete picnic tables and benches, small local population (distance less than 10 miles.) Winters would be cold but manageable. Preps would be extended by local resources.

Approximately one tank of gas from Phoenix, Las Vegas, Albuqueque, and SLC. Passersby would not likely stumble upon it. You must know where it is in advance, and be going there to get there.

IMHO an excellant location for an EMP SHTF. For me, the only missing ingrediant is potential placer mining. Otherwise it represents an excellant outpost for survival in a new world.

It might not be a good location for other SHTF Scenarios, but for starting over, the characteristics at this location are ideal. I am sure there are many such locations throughout the West that could support groups of people struggling to survive.

Everyone should ID a couple near them.

            • Been doing something similar up here (Oregon). I’d prefer to keep it within a half tank of gas (@ 30MPG) though, so that I don’t find myself stranded at either end.

Personally, I prefer 300 days of rain… sounds weird, but it does one thing that the SW does not: provide sufficient clean water. Once that’s licked, the rest falls into place like agriculture, moderate temperatures, plentiful lumber/wood, and even hydro power.

      24. if we have an emp attack…it’s a flase flag.

      25. china’s leaders wak off to the book, one second after, and other people do to. What do you do to the big bully on the block? YOU KICK HIM IN THE NUTS and drop him for good. We will see these weapons used in our lifetime!

      26. MF: Nice link on the Faraday cage. I like the idea of using a galvanized garbage can and lid, however, I think I will still line the interior with non-conducting material, like foam, if only to protect the contents from bouncing around.

So basically, a galvanized metal building could be used as a garage to protect your vehicles, moters, engines, and other electrical equipment. Good to know.

        Thanks!

      27. “I want them here at 11 a.m. tomorrow,” “They are going to have to explain to me how it is that we are going to avoid default.” “I have gone out of my way to make compromises,” “I’ve been left at the altar now a couple of times,”

      28. A snippet of a Vision:
        http://www.unleavenedbreadministries.org/?page=carrierdestroyed

General, I have a friend who, during the nine years I have known him, has never been wrong on any “prediction” he has made. This includes, but is not at all limited to, the Dow-Jones Industrial’s “bottom-out” on 24 Sept 2002; and the rise of “per-barrel” oil prices, to the very dollar amount(s) this year! The subject prediction, detailed below, concerns the US Navy.

Some days ago my friend was given a Holy Ghost vision of a US Navy Carrier Task Force, consisting of fifteen ships and three subs, being attacked by Chinese (PRC) forces. In the scenario there was a “football-shaped fleet” (see Attach) sailing in formation. There were fourteen surface ships ahead of/or around the flagship, a CVA/CVN. Suddenly the carrier, which was in the center of the formation, was hit on the port side. A huge hole opened and the carrier then “slowed and shuddered to a stop.” Before any planes could be launched it rolled 30 degrees to port, casting all aircraft into the ocean. It then rolled to 90 degrees and capsized; all in a matter of a few minutes. (Enemy surface and subsurface elements were also operating.)

At that point the entire formation was struck by missiles, each ship being hit; including “two [SSN] submarines”, which were operating submerged on the flanks of the CVA. This included the loss of a “rover,” fast attack sub, which was also in the Task Force. Subsequently, enemy aircraft over flew the fleet; therefore it must be ascertained the attacking planes were never detected by the radar screen. The ships were sunk by “air-to-surface” missiles, whereas the subs were sunk with “air-to-subsurface” devices. I suspect the missile which hit CVA had a “nuke tip.” I also suspect the recent Sino-Soviet exercises were perfecting their operations plan(s) to attack our WESTPAC units. Be advised the “bait” will be an incident with Taiwan; and the Russians and the North Koreans shall be, in some manner, involved in the scenario.

The entire formation was sunk; not one element/unit surviving. The loss of life was great. Be advised, the gentleman having this vision has absolutely no knowledge of US Navy surface or subsurface operations/tactics; to include convoy screening techniques. Have a great day, sir, as you and the other “Chiefs” are going to need a bunch of them — soon.

        • i saw a group of soldiers emptying m27 IAR’s into a group of civies at the national mall… it wasnt pretty.

      29. The above was mainly in reference to China, which I failed to make clear.

Report: Chinese Develop Special “Kill Weapon” to Destroy U.S. Aircraft Carriers
Advanced missile poses substantial new threat for U.S. Navy

        U. S. Naval Institute
        March 31, 2009

With tensions already rising due to the Chinese navy becoming more aggressive in asserting its territorial claims in the South China Sea, the U.S. Navy seems to have yet another reason to be deeply concerned.

After years of conjecture, details have begun to emerge of a “kill weapon” developed by the Chinese to target and destroy U.S. aircraft carriers.

First posted on a Chinese blog viewed as credible by military analysts and then translated by the naval affairs blog Information Dissemination, a recent report provides a description of an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) that can strike carriers and other U.S. vessels at a range of 2000km.

The range of the modified Dong Feng 21 missile is significant in that it covers the areas that are likely hot zones for future confrontations between U.S. and Chinese surface forces.

The size of the missile enables it to carry a warhead big enough to inflict significant damage on a large vessel, providing the Chinese the capability of destroying a U.S. supercarrier in one strike.

      30. China is more likely to take Russia. It’s right next door. It’s oil rich beneath. And it hasn’t been replacing its population. China, with its one-child law and preference for males, has an overabundance of deprived, hormonally-driven young men in great need of an outlet. If China does anything, it will be something that can get a lot of boots on the ground. But, that’s just the anthropoligical view.

        • This is a partial repeat post from another story on this web site.

          A vision;
          http://www.unitedstatesprophecy.com/Russia_Invades_America.html

Russia Will Attack and Invade America!
Foreign Armies Will Bomb Our Churches and Synagogues

Vision of New York City Bombed by 10 Russian Nuclear Missiles
Around 1986 God took me up into the heavens and I found myself flying like superman through the air. I was in the clouds and the cover was so thick that I could not see my hands in front of my face. I couldn’t understand why I was flying through the air. As I dropped in altitude and started to get below the clouds, I began looking to my left and to my right. As I was looking, I saw five nuclear missiles, long range intercontinental ballistic missiles to my right and to my left. A total of ten missiles! Each one carried multiple warheads with the red Communist star on the fuselage of the missiles. The five pointed red star is the universal representative symbol for Communism. The star that I saw on the missiles looked like the second red star below. At the time of this vision Russia had a red star on their flag which is the first picture below. I feel in my spirit that these will be Russian missiles.

As I looked down to the ground I saw Staten Island, Manhattan Island and New York City. I could not believe that these missiles were getting ready to hit New York with such a magnitude. They were coming right down onto the state of New York. The next thing I knew, I was standing down on the ground looking at all of the devastation. All the buildings were totally annihilated. The big skyscrapers had fallen over as though a domino effect had happened when they were blown up. When they started falling, these skyscrapers fell one against another knocking each other down. There were dead bodies lying everywhere. Tens of thousands were dead and the air smelled of rotting, burning flesh. Not only did the air smell foul but as I looked everything was dark even though it was midday. I could not believe my eyes!

I then sensed time had passed, weeks and months. God then let me see little children taking instruments like butter knives and scraping the corpses of the people that had died. The children were looking for food by scraping the flesh off the people’s bodies only to cause their own death later of radiation poisoning. The devastation was beyond anything of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The death and the disease that broke out after was beyond imagination. I could not believe what I was seeing. I was overwhelmed and sickened by the devastation. I asked God why He showed me this? He said He is going to judge the United States and He’s going to judge it hard. He said that the enemies of the United States are going to attack.

After having this life-like vision of what is coming, it was quickened to me later that Chicago and a lot of other big cities are also going to take a hit. From what I’m receiving right now, this is going to be worse than anything this nation could ever imagine. The American people will not believe what is happening to them. God is going to execute His judgment on this nation and He is going to pay America back double for the sins that have reached into Heaven.

Read Revelation 18, it is about America.
America is the Babylon spoken of in this chapter.

          Revelation 18; 17-19
17 In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’

“Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. 18 When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city?’ 19 They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
where all who had ships on the sea
          became rich through her wealth!
In one hour she has been brought to ruin!’

Foreign Armies WILL Invade and Occupy America – The Enemies of America Will Bomb Our Churches and Synagogues

During the same time as the vision about the state of Florida in July of 1995, God gave me a vision of a massive army coming down on America. He said, “John, I am going to allow the enemies of the United States to judge America. When America’s enemies come they will have no mercy on the men, women and children. I saw troop movement and they appeared to be Communist Chinese and Russian troops coming into the United States. As they came in, America was no match. I saw churches and synagogues were being leveled by heavy artillery. As the churches were being blown up I saw Jews and Christians being herded up and shot like cattle in front of their churches and homes. I saw the troops killing children and infants with their bayonets. I saw the American people tormented beyond imagination. The troops were void of emotions. Their objective is to take the nation and take it hands down. All able bodied working people will be forced into slave labor. Some will be taken to other countries and some left here. The soldier’s main objective was to kill all Jews and Christians. As I am seeing all this horror I asked, “Lord, what is happening?” He said, “Because of the wickedness of the United States of America I am allowing her enemies to invade her lands.” God ended the vision.

The enemies of America are supernaturally being drawn together. When they come, they are going to catch the nation completely by surprise. Great is going to be her destruction and torment. This judgment is coming soon! The American people, Christians and non-Christians do not believe that God has fiery indignation that will be poured out. The great day of darkness is quickly coming upon the whole world, the day of God’s wrath and judgment.

          Jeremiah 50:3
For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

          • Visions and religion. Glad I still have faith in reason and basic humanity. We are as we choose… unless we’re too lazy or afraid to bother. Glad I got myself out of that rut. Whew.

          • JRSMAC: You gotta stop eating junk food before you go to bed. Not only does it give you indigestion, but it makes you delusional as well.

This is nonsense. Russia will NEVER invade the United States. Never. Neither will China. There is no profit in it for either of them, only suicide. Russia’s goal, advantage, and biblical destiny is in the domination of Europe, or what is left of it after the Earth Changes.

China and Russia may come to blows eventually as China will eye the vast natural resource reserves in sparsely populated Mongolia, Central Asia, and Siberia. That is a natural conflict for future resources. It also faces conflict with India in partnership with Russia.

China needs US to buy its products. China has also stated that it can survive a first strike. There is no advantage in invading a nation whom you profit from when it is 13,000 miles away.

Mutual Assured Destruction deters every major power from attacking the other. Even after much of the US is detroyed by earthquakes on the east and west coasts, and in New Madrid, the US still has more than enough retalitary capacity on its nuclear submarines to render any adversary impotent and return them to the stone age.

The goal of conquest is to extend your borders not create a competitor state thousands of miles away. Greece learned that. Rome learned that. Great Britain learned that.

The Bible verses you site do not apply to the USA and virtually every legitimate bible scholar will tell you so. The USA is absent from the End Times prophecies of revelation because God has already judged America by Earth Changes and the country is consumed by internal politics and survival issues.

These earth Changes represent the end of the Age of the Gentiles, the “independence” and rise of Israel, and its dominance of the middle east.

            • Thank you, Durango Kidd, you saved me time, I was getting ready to write something similar, but you already did it. Good job 🙂

            • Believe what you want.
May the wise take heed, our destruction is close at hand!
Repent, and draw close to God!

        • Russia would fight back. Buy some liberal pacifist in America and it will just capitulate like France. Much cheaper.

      31. Sometimes the stuff posted here needs to be fact checked. EMP weapons have been around since the late 70′ and 80’s. All military hardware is shielded against it.

Most computers and yes almost any device that transmits a signal is shielded agasinst it. Sure it will take out a transmission line but there are even devices intalled on them. It acts as a fuse. You want a real scare while we are at it! Go check out a neutron bomb. Real nasty.

Kills all life and leaves the infracture and buildings intact. Been around for about as long.

      32. Last night our towns in the northeast experienced rolling blackouts that lasted a mere 5-10 minutes, we were prepared with flashlights and candles, and we were able to go out into the streets and communicate with neighbors, but to say we could have lasted months without air conditioning, refrigeration, TV, internet, landlines, etc. even cell phones all dependent on electricity would have been very iffy.
Could you imagine an EMP attack?
        Are we prepared?
You can never be prepared for an EMP, only the entire USA military would be able to get a handle such an event, and who knows how long that would take.
        Just pray it never happens.

      33. I stumbled onto what seemed to be a knowledgeable article about EMP and Faraday cages. The author talked about the metal garbage can cages mentioned in several posts here. One thing that caught my eye was that he said the way to test your faraday cage is to tune a radio to a strong FM station and put it into the cage. If the signal fails, the cage is good to go. If you can still hear the radio; you got issues with the shielding. I got no idea if he is right or wrong; but sounds better than guessing to me. The article also said that grounding a vehicle was likely worse than doing nothing since the ground would act as an antenna. He suggested parking the vehicle under a metal carport which was grounded on all four corners. Again, I ain’t got a clue, so if this is BS, don’t yell at me.. 😉

      34. perhaps china is trying to “star wars us”, ala reagan vs the cccp evil empire, and push us into (further) bankruptcy. look out below….and watch out for those pesky pentagon research projects…they can max out your visa in no time, especially in times of war and/or national interest…think sacrafice for the good of the collective…uh..republic..

      35. You have no idea and don’t have a clue.

      36. You have issues and you’re good to go idiot!

      37. jrsmac
I’m a bit confused. If you really believe the stuff you posted, why are you on this site? I don’t need you to save me. Cause if you really believe the stuff, you can’t save yourself when the shtf. If you are prepping, I would question your faith. Of course I question the faith of all that refuse to trust the same god that knows when every sparrow falls. Or maybe … those who prep and preach fear the judgement that everyone will inevitably face. Ever read the statistics from the prayer and medical outcome meta-analysis? No? I didn’t think so.

Please remember, we just went through a rapture alert by a supposedly bonafide preacher. Do you know the levitical law pertaining to false prophets? Do you realize that any leading of people away from the true word is punished by eternal damnation? False prophecy is a quick way to accomplish that goal.

I’m attempting to be diplomatic, but you know the old saw, “Diplomacy is to do and say the nastiest things in the nicest way.” I’m gonna be nice. I’m gonna be nice. I’m gonna … like hell I am. Outhouse class predictions aren’t prophecy but rather the evidence of a delusional mind that needs serious therapy.

What did your preacher say when you presented him/her with this critical prophecy? Did you notify the Dept. of Defense? Or maybe you just don’t care about our youth in harm’s way. Inquiring minds want to know.

        • These are visions God has given to Christians, which I am am sharing.
None of you have to believe it.
Let the wise read and understand, God judges nations in the now, and individuals in the afterlife.
          50,000,000 abortions(MURDERS)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God told Cain, “Your brother’s blood cries to Me from the ground.”

50,000,000 MURDERS of children, their blood cries out to God from the ground.

          We are under God’s judgment!!!!!!!!

          • JRSMAC: The “Babylon” of Revelation is Rome as stated clearly in later passages as sitting on seven hills upon which the city sits.

Keep reading. It will eventually sink in, as even a blind chicken can find some corn.

      38. “There is nothing new under the Sun.”

The “Babylon” of The Revelation of Jesus Christ may be Rome, but it is all sovereignty at all times and in all places, as well. A government that permits–ney, encourages and even forces its citizens to pay for–millions of abortions every year is a government that is, at least in part, truly evil. A people that permits its government to do this is a people that will end poorly.

To comment on the recent apocalyptic literature, I have read much of it, and I will offer just one thing. THE ROAD is, in my view, one of the great works of literature. While on the surface it is the story of a man and his son trying to find their way to some semblance of civilization, it is, down deep, the story of each of us as we make our way in this world, searching to keep “the fire” and find “salvation.” It is the story of Everyman, father and son. It is the story of God and Man. It is the story of Christ and us. It is a universal tale of hope, love, and the joy of salvation through Grace.

      39. Personally I don’t think the Chinese will ever have to use an EMP on a US target. They have a far, far more devastating weapon at their disposal. They own the US economy right now. They can use back door channels to communicate to Washington that if the US doesn’t stand down, they’ll take steps (selling T-bonds, etc) to destroy the US economy.

The mightiest military in the world is powerless against a financial weapon like that.

        Joe

        • Joe,i respectfully disagree…as long as our currency and bonds are bought by others, they are participating in the game…i think they know that when the music stops and they quit accepting our worthless scrip, we will simply give them the one-finger salute and the war begins…

      40. jrsmac, I won’t denigrate you or your comment, but I must urge you to remember that all visions/dreams are not of God. The bible tells us to ‘test the spirits, whether they be of God…’ And every believer would do well to remember that all things, including our experiences (dreams, visions, an overwhelming feeling during a church service, or whatever it is) must be understood by comparing them to the word which we already have. If it doesn’t line up with the word, or if there’s any contradiction then the experience is not to be believed as coming from God. Maybe you already know this, but just a friendly word of advice to truthfully check things out. I too, have had a couple of dreams not much different from yours, but I wouldn’t say it was a vision and I’m not convinced it was anything more than a strange dream.
Now, on a lighter note, if I was gonna have a real ‘vision’ here’s what I’d like it to be:
A Godly, honest man comes to the forefront in US politics and, at the same time, the people of this nation wake up to the facts of their own immorality and selfishness. And the people see the truth about the puppetmasters and corporations that have been manipulating them. While a great revival of honest humble faith in God is happening, our political admisistrators are all replaced with men of integrity who pursue the same goals as the people. Government, at the federal level, is reduced by about 95% across the board. Most cabinet level depts are eliminated. Our borders are closed and secured (just as if we were a real sovereign nation again!) and our wars of adventure are ended. The majority of our national debt, which is held by evil greedy corps, is simply repudiated and the remaining debt is paid off. After that we have no debt in any year except when we are in a congressionally declared war. And we don’t ever declare war except for actual ‘defensive’ purposes, such as invasion or provable threats of impending attack from an enemy. Also, ALL of our troops stationed outside the US are brought home. Most would be mustered out of service and the armed forces reduced to no more than 200,000 for all branches combined. We would supplement this with about a million regularly trained and ready reserves that could be called up quickly if needed. The reserves would be strictly under state control unless the gov of the state transfers authority to the pres during a declared war.
As for economics, the vision would show that we returned to a pm backed currency, central banks were eliminated, and the gangsters brought to justice. High tarriffs would be placed on imported stuff that we could make in America, or that we used to make here. Most of the problems of the so-called free market would quickly correct themselves, and we would not be competing with cheap labor elsewhere in the world. They can make their own stuff if they can’t afford, or don’t want, to import from us. We’ll do the same. Trade with other nations would be conducted in a fair and honest manner.(remember, the banksters are no longer calling the shots. trade isn’t rigged in any way to benefit them)
I suppose the whole vision could be stated more simply- That we, as a nation, returned to the Constitution as the governing document of a free, honest, God fearing group of people. Hey, if you’re gonna dream, might as well dream big!

        • The Godly ones have been in power forever, lets try an ungodly one for a change and see how it works out, the Religious freaks have ruined the country, lets see how someone non religious works out, bet it works out better for the us.

          • You don’t get out much, do you, herb? We haven’t had Godly people in gov for a long time. And as for ‘Religious freaks’ ruining the country- what are you talking about? Are there some misguided fanatics making laws somewhere that you don’t like? What laws? What fanatics? Please give us some specifics. Or is it that the people of faith in America refuse to condone immoral actions and that upsets you? We aint saying you can’t do the actions, we’re just not gonna agree that it’s right. Besides, looking at congress and the administration, I don’t think we could get any more ‘ungodly’ leadership than we already have!

      41. I was waiting for the lighter note.

        • Guess I could have said ‘meanwhile back at the ranch’ but it just didn’t have the right look when I wrote it!

      42. Did you know that Dr. Peter Pry now does a radio show on Wednesdays? This topic is ALWAYS up for discussion. I really feel like you guys should listen to it. I think that this would be extremely informative for you guys. I’ve been researching and trying to prepare for this as best as I possibly can. Here’s the link so you can go listen to it this Wednesday: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/empact-radio/2011/07/27/pvp59-two-guests–reza-kahlili-and-fred-fleitz two people are going to be guests on it; Reza Kahlili and Fred Fleitz. I’m pumped to listen to it.

      43. JRSMAC: Thanks for the link, I tried it, but frankly I couldn’t get past the BS halfway through the first page. I understand that “babylon” is also a system, but the city which you initially cited as destroyed, is Rome. Your premise is FALSE.

America may still be a member of NATO at the end of days and have some participation in end time events. But America will not be the dominant power that it (still) is today.

America will diminished by the Judgement of God, but not through the actions of other nations which HE has used historically by raising up and destroying other nations as when Nebecanessar destroyed Israel, Eygpt, Assyria, and Tyre, as example.

God will judge America by Earth Changes marking the end of the Age of the Gentiles. America will retreat from the world stage to heal and bind its wounds as Americans, awake and aware, rebuild the physical and political infrastructure in America to reflect their heritage.

Europe will grow stronger, despite its present predicaments, and become the dominant world power. That is Bible prophecy.

Europe, with Russia, and China, and all of the other nations of the world (UN) will meet in the Middle East. Israel will destroy those who come against it, and the Lord Himself will move to destroy them. That is the word of the Lord and is being played out even as WE debate the issue.

The Bible is self explanatory for those who read it. Your intrepretation is false and merely the kind of propaganda that WE have seen others try to spread here before in an attempt to engender fear in the hearts and minds of those who lack the knowledge of the Word of God. Not gonna happen here.

Those who know the Lord do not fear His coming and the end time events that proceed it; but rather, they embrace it and rejoice in it. Amen.

        Keep prepping.

      44. I stop reading this website for a month, come back, and is a load of fearmongering crap. All military hardware is shielded against EMPs. This is nothing new. Fact check before you post, Mac.

      45. Hey everyone, these visions are not mine, but visions other saints have had.
I have never had a vision.
I compare these visions with the Word of God and see if this would be the way God would work.
I am not ignorant of the Word of God.
None of you have said anything to me, I was not already aware of.
The things I have shared, I believe are going to happen.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing
        without revealing his plan
        to his servants the prophets.
Even though I know all this, am I still prepping?
        Yes!
I believe our economy is going to crash first, and there will be extreme, unimaginable trouble in America!
I believe Great Earthquakes are coming, especially if America goes against Israel.
The New Madrid Fault, an earthquake that will spit America in two.
Any nation that tries to make Israel give up their land, God will come against!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe Great Famines are coming.
I do not believe prepping is a lack of faith, but a mind of sound wisdom.
If you see trouble coming you prepare for it.
What we can’t do, God can!

And as for Rome going to be whatever…………
I too believed somewhat, what some end time preachers preached.
        http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/america_babylon.htm
But I wish all of you would read the above link, all 4 pages and really give it some thought.
It’d hard to go against what you thought was right, but, really, you should read these pages.
You don’t have to tell anyone you read them.
You don’t even have to agree with what is said.
But I definitely urge you for your own sake check it out.
God Bless my Brothers and Sisters in Christ here.

        • jrsmac- I will look into the links provided. And, just in case you’re new here, let me offer some friendly advice which I’m sure you already know but I’ll say it anyway: whenever you post anything about religion and especially Christianity, you’ll get lots of disagreement. From Christians with a different view and certainly from the non-believers also. We throw some occasionally sharp barbs at each other, but it’s almost always without personal hatred. We just like to argue among ourselves! Seriously, it’s sort of a 3 ring circus here sometimes, but it’s fun! And informative. So stick around and by all means, add whatever you can. Maybe someone here will actually learn something!
And as a fellow Christian, let me implore you to stay true to the word of God. I’m not sayng you aren’t, it’s just important that we remind each other of that. End times prophecies are fascinating to study but we, as believers, should remember that our faith is first and foremost about redemption from sin through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. Everything else is built on that foundation.
Whether I agree with everything you say, or none of it, and I don’t know yet because I haven’t had time to study it, we both need to stay focused on pursuing the truth. Bless you. And welcome to Mac’s world!

          • Thank you SmokinOkie.
            God Bless!

      46. nice post Smokie

      47. Folks get this I know for a fact that we were working on an EMP device (O.K. Bomb) that was designed for tactical and battle field use that was NOT nuclear based. Bad part of it is if we got this idea or tech. you can bet the other side(s) do to as we can’t seem to keep a secret in this nation worth a hoot any more! EMP weapons that are nuclear have a stigma concerning use due to that fallout and radiation thing as well as any nuclear detonation used as an act of agression or war be it to attack or in responce to an attack is not going to be viewed or tolerated by other nations not involved and brings all risks of counter strikes and unlimited nuclear responces being very real and possiblle actions against the nation who uses them first by the targeted nation or other nations due to fear of being next!
So now we have a conventional based EMP device that does away with all the nuclear weapon issues and is a smaller more locallized type of weapon where the effects would disable a battle group of a navy or a city’s power grid, knock a squadron or two of aircraft out in a split second, it would be impractical to try to use this class device to kill the whole US electrical system in one fell swoop ( nuclear based EMP supposedly only 1 or 2 would cover the whole US lower 48) this dosn’t mean that stratigic hits to key parts of a grid wouldn’t work to cause mass blackouts and domino type cascade failure of large grids, while this could cause short term problems and be useful to a enemy it would not cause the lingering long term system damage preventing rather timely restarting the grid, and would not take out all other electronics outside the local areas where the small conventional EMP’s were set off.
These are the reasons a non nuclear EMP is more scary to me than the BIG nuclear emp’s mentioned in the article.
For reference the Conventional device used powerful explosives to colapse a magnetic field (super conducting magnet based ) around a copper “armature” with a specific design to direct the EMP through a magnetic or mechanical amplifier stage and output the results in a specific direction. Another design had A similar design except it explosivly moved a armature of unknown material into a magnetic field to genterate the EMP. Either way it seems to be a rather finite problem set to get a device that would work rather well, the strength of the magnet and the speed the magnetic field can be caused to cross the armature plus armature design and command/control issues are all within the practical and not to hard area of probable and If a highschool science team wanted to they could most likely put a workable device into action with not to much trouble at all!!
        Scary Stuff Folks!!

      48. question about the faraday cages

Several pages say that even insulated trash cans don’t work. Does anyone have any factual pages that say that they do?

I have a couple family members that have pacemakers. If a car can insulate enough for the radio to work do you think it could do the same for pacemakers? Or maybe an old fridge with air holes covered with copper screen? (provided, of course, that we would be given notice that an emp is on it’s way)

Is an emp blast a split moment? Or can the charge continue to roll around for a bit? Or could it be probable that different missals would go off at different times because of different heights? or even have missals go off a week apart? If they could stop our retaliation they could shoot a couple off a week for a month and fry anything previously protected.

Has anyone ever wondered if our gov has a small ‘kill switch’ that could take down the grid for a town or state that might be considered too ‘independent’?

Just random things I worry about preparing for, thanks 🙂

      49. we will all go together when we go , all subfused with an incondescent glow, there will
be no more misery when the world is our rottissiery we will all fry together when we fry, we’ll be french fried potatoes by and and by. No one will have the endurance to collect on their insurance,Lloyds of London will be loaded when we go.

      50. EMP and China………..I read some shit on the various websites BUT this takes the cake.
The DTs are really getting to the scum in Washington

      51. /
see cache : “a pop. magazine (on sci.) tells
how to make one in yr bk yard w/ spare parts….” duah

      52. FYI all, “The Effects of Nuclear Weapons”, a Department of the Army “pamphlet” (hardly a pamphlet at 1.5″ thick!) has, amongst a great deal of other very good-to-know info, detailed descriptions of EMP, how it is generated from high-altitude, air-burst and ground-burst nuclear explosions, areas of effect, etc. Included is descriptions of vulnerabilities of various equipment. A highly recommended technical read >>IF<< you can find it. If the included circular plastic damage/radiation effects calculator is still with the copy you find, so much the better.

Also, Popular Mechanics published a usefully informative article about "conventional" explosive EMP devices a while back.

      53. China doesn’t have to conquer us and turn us into a third rate nation of slaves. We’re doing that right now to ourselves. Look around, because of our so called elected leaders we no longer have a manned space program. We are more that flat broke and dependent on countries like China to keep the population under control instead of rioting and we have meekly allowed the government to strip us of our constitutional rights. As the comic strip Pogo once said “We have meet the enemy and he is us.”

      54. As president, i would send a written message to every country with a nuke (including Israel) that when our lights go out, their LIGHTS go out….that is why the nuclear navy is sitting out there underneath a mile of ocean….This means we don’t care if you did, they did or it just happens, if it happens, the roaches, not the meek, inherit the world…so you better reign in your “friends”…it used to be called MAD…and it is…

Classified report: Russia tied to blast at U.S. embassy

U.S. intelligence agencies concluded in a classified report late last year that Russia’s military intelligence was responsible for a bomb blast that occurred at an exterior wall of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia, in September.

The highly classified report about the Sept. 22 incident was described to The Washington Times by two U.S. officials who have read it. They said the report supports the findings of the Georgian Interior Ministry, which traced the bombing to a Russian military intelligence officer……………………

Russia threatens to wreck the reset
Posted By Josh Rogin Tuesday, July 26, 2011 – 6:28 PM Share

Russia has threatened the Obama administration that it will end cooperation on Iran and prevent the transfer of material to Afghanistan if Congress passes a law criticizing Russian human rights practices.

The White House argues that the U.S.-Russian “reset” of relations has had three positive results: the New START nuclear reductions treaty, Moscow’s cooperation in sanctioning Iran, and approval (for a price) for U.S. military goods to transit Russian territory on the way to Afghanistan. But Russia is now using two of those three points as leverage to pressure the administration to get Congress not to pass a bill that would ban visas for Russian officials implicated in human rights crimes………………………..

      56. People draw close to God through His Son Jesus.
This stuff about Russia and China is coming.

        Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

      57. Trashcan EMP shield? Works better if it’s buried about 5 – 6 feet deep. And covered with dirt. What gets fried? Solid state circuitry that (generally) is connected to a potential energy collector – some sort of antenna. Could be an antenna per se. Could be the power grid. Could be a metal car body. Got an electronic ignition on your car? Problems. Points and a condenser and a rotator head? Probably make it, although you’ll need spares if you want to keep the car running, anyway. I do recall changing them things out at regular intervals – used to be called periodic maintenance… Of course, gasoline with 10% ethanol will rot out your carb fast enough that it won’t matter much, anyway. And how will the gas get moved from the refineries to the gas pumps so (without power) you can pump some to refill your tank? Ah…generally speaking, not. And one more thing…

No need to put the EMP warhead over the center of the continent. Nah. Put several of them up along both coasts… in international waters. Then, who yah gonna nuke back?? If most of the east and west coasts, as well as Gulf coast, businesses and activities are fried, the “fly over” country is going to be in bad shape soon enough, anyway. Again, if launched from say, one of three unregistered ships floating in international waters, using SCUD type boosters shooting straight up, so that the blasts are over international airspace, and not in US territorial air space, who yah gonna strike back at? Iran, North Korea, heck, Pakistan – any of them could do it to us tomorrow, let alone China.

Simple fact is that if you are real worried about EMP, you need to start living like the Amish – and do it now. “Prepping” needs to be technology deep to ride out the full EMP effects. Got a horse and buggy? How about equipment to make hay with, without power? Got a barn to put the hay in? I presume you will be making loose hay, as there probably won’t be much bale twine after TSHTF. That is a whole different set of older technologies than the classic square baler… The list goes on. And even the Old Order Amish know that a skilled lone believer family can’t make it very well on their own – which is why you will see the Amish in communities. It takes quite a few folks with buggies to support a single carriage wheelwright, for example. There is a skill density factor at work there. Many preppers don’t get that. Classic farming was always a balance between cooperation and competition.

Other than moving to the country, and getting straight into horse powered agriculture, you”re pretty much at the mercy of an extant system. Cut yourself off, and try for self sufficiency for a while. Can be done, until stuff breaks. Or wears out. Or you run out of vital substance “X.” Ever rendered lard? Harder than it sounds to get it right. And that’s about the most reliable source of grease you’ll have in a long term low tech, broken system scenario. Got pigs? Not exactly suburban back yard animals, ’cause they do stink. (Well, OK, the pigs don’t stink per se – but their poo does.) Even your backyard flock of hens. Got a never ending source of oyster shell near by? Where does the chicken feed come from post-SHTF? Got a rooster to fertilize the eggs so when a hen does go broody you can actually get baby chicks? Point is – it just ain’t that simple. Nothing is. And the whole system is so interconnected that even a decent portion of it failing will inevitably lead to a major systemic breakdown. Which is gonna be ugly as home made sin, since so many Americans are armed, and seem to think that will enable them to protect themselves from others who want to rob them of their stash of “X”, while allowing them to, I guess, go rob someone else of their stash of “Y”. Sounds like we’re in for a real big nationwide gun fight for a few months, and then the survivors are gonna get real hungry for the rest of their lives. Learning to be a good serf takes time. And we’ll be lucky to maintain 1880s level technology. Fact is, we’ll all do what we can, and most of us will die a lot younger than we planned to, if the wheels come off. For whatever reason.

Cheapest critical prepper stuff you can buy? Couple of shovels and a good garden rake. A good potato fork. A good hoe or two. A lot of solid metal trashcans (to become feed and seed cans and made into expedient food storage pits.) A scythe. A couple of buck saws and axes. Ways to sharpen tools. Some spare handles for above. That’s the basics to get a garden in and cared for, keep the grass whacked back, be able to harvest grain and hay, and get in firewood. A hand cranked mill for grinding grain is high on the list, too. Dutch oven comes in handy if you want to bake anything. (I like the 14″ ones a lot better than the more common 12″ versions, cause I can get a 9″ pie pan lifted out without burning myself or spilling the contents – hard to do in the 12″ ovens. And I do like pie…) Oh, yeah, some way to start fires. Got flint and steel? Know how to use ’em? Point is – if you are talking real EMP attack, we’ll all be at the basic “growing food to eat and live on” level real, real soon after the big fry. And the rototiller may or may not work. If you don’t have what you will need NOW, you are not going to have time to get it then. And NOW is running shorter with each passing day. Sadly, most Chinese are not that far from being able to do just what was described above. Most Americans are not. And therein lies the strategic calculation that the old men in Zhongnanhai are making. Go figure. Good luck. Oh, and if you are younger than 40 or so, remember to go down to the pharmacy and buy yourself some reading glasses in varying strengths. You’ll need them sooner than you think – and they may not be available post SHTF. Good luck, one and all.

      58. Reading glasses good idea.

      59. The Washington Times is a daily broadsheet newspaper published in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. It was founded in 1982 by Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, and until 2010 was owned by News World Communications, an international media conglomerate associated with the church. The Times is known for presenting socially and politically conservative views…Wiki…Is this a reliable source for this discussion?

      60. Hale Meserow just published a new book in which a high altitude EMP takes out America’s grid and terrorists invade on horseback. It’s called “Lights Out America” and is available on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JSZEF4

It also includes a survivor guide in case an EMP happens for real.

      61. EMP is actualy old system we can build so simple… and now i build the Other EMP by focusing this EMP like Laser works.
And i need to coorporate with china militry to develope it to be more powerful because its need much money to make this new EMP by my design..
1.this EMP mush just cina have this technology.
2.try to help china for make high beam laser to shut down every satelite, spy ship, and other things above china. its more chip than build rudal to shut downn the satelite.
