Twitter Purge: Our Orwellian Dystopia Is Now Our Present

In a Monday night blog post, Twitter laid out all the latest details of a historic purge that started with the permanent suspension of President Donald Trump.  Isn’t it odd how none of those considerations emerged during the summer when United States cities were literally burning as a result of countless violent protests and frequent riots?

According to a report by ZeroHedge, the Great Purge, which is a big tech censorship campaign rivaled only by that of Nazi Germany’s, has begun.  With the suspension of 70,000 accounts since Friday, the crackdown on dissent and those who know they are being lied to propagandized is here.  The Orwellian dystopia we were all warned about has arrived.

In twitter’s own words: “It’s important to be transparent about all of this work as the US Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2021, approaches.” In the aftermath of the biggest censorship purge in Twitter history, the company’s stock tumbled. The justification for the mass censorship campaign dubbed “the purge” by ZeroHedge and others is justified if you believe Big Tech:

We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. Given the violent events in Washington, DC, and increased risk of harm, we began permanently suspending thousands of accounts that were primarily dedicated to sharing QAnon content on Friday afternoon.

Already, the American Civil Liberties Union is warning the public that the Big Tech firms are expanding their power.

“Unchecked Power” Warning After Trump’s Permanent Suspension From Social Media

Social media platforms will soon be an echo chamber for authoritarians while those who have been censored move to other sites that allow the free flow of information.

This situation will amp up as we approach the inauguration. Things are about to get chaotic as people increasingly become silenced as Big Tech continues to foment division.

Personally speaking, I would not use Parler. Parler’s co-founder is Rebekah Mercer, daughter of Robert Mercer, founder of defunct Cambridge Analytica that spied on and stole millions of users data in a giant net. Then of course the fact that Parler has been banned from Apple, Google ( which operates on Samsung,)  and Amazon. Pseudo-Libertarian Peter Thiel, that has called for improsoning Assange is unlikely to create any better alternatives either. A libertarian that opposes the 1st amendment is as ludicrous as the DNC that rigs the primaries, and RNC that have historically created the highest budget deficets with the biggest spending increases for the Pentagon that is of no benefit to the majority of Americans.

My Twitter account was shut down years ago for no valid reason. So, I am not supporting Twitter either!

      • Now that’s what I call truth, and cutting through the BS. Yes, we are always driven from one bad player to a less-obvious bad player and nothing ever changes until honest people like you have their say and everyone else gets to say, “yes, that’s my experience, too.”

I don’t think people realise the favor TWEETER did them by doing this.

    3. A responsible media might look into the negative effects of Twitter/Facebook. People who participated are now the dumbed-down folks who honestly support censorship (of others only, of course) and who have destroyed in-person socialization. Just as Fox News was found in studies to reduce intelligence in its viewers (which is unfair because PBS and CNN are worse, because people still expect them to be doing their basic jobs and they are not) we should apply the same studies to fb/twit.
And on a side note, the way Jack Dorsey cheated his way to where he is, and the contemptible arrogance of the nasty little defecation smear, I personally cannot wait for the day he’s dragged out in public and exposed. I recently saw the full story, and the man who CREATED the product I understand has withdrawn from society. I hope this heartens him, to know there are people who know he was shafted. I hope that what goes around, comes around.
