This Means War: US To Target Putin’s Personal $40 Billion Stash

by | Apr 21, 2014 | Headline News | 269 comments

Do you LOVE America?

Editor’s Note: Consider for a moment that you are President Vladimir Putin. You’ve seen US and European sanctions seize the personal wealth of members of your parliament through various banking mechanisms as a result of their material support for the actions in Crimea. As the President of Russia, what do you do when those same sanctions now target your personal wealth and business interests? Do you sit idly by while $40 billion dollars are confiscated from your personal accounts? What course of action do you take next?

That is exactly the position that Vladimir Putin is now in, and according to the following report, National Security Adviser Susan Rice makes it clear that the United States is seriously considering this as an option.

The strategy may have worked out great when the United States seized the assets of deposed leaders in Egypt and Libya. It’s an entirely different matter when you target the President of a nuclear armed nation and one who has had no qualms about going head-to-head with the United States, not just in rhetoric but with his actions both economically and militarily.

Of course, as Zero Hedge notes, we’re sure the Obama administration “has considered all the intended and unintended consequences of such a move.”

By Zero Hedge via Steve Quayle / Infowars

While the White House has continually threatened further sanctions against Russia for non-de-escalation (even as it un-de-escalates itself), thespecifics of the additional sanctions have been sparseGerman CEO warnings over blowback from economic sanctions… the “nonsense” of replacing Russian gas with US gas… the Russian warnings of “interdependence” and “boomerangs”… all reduce the West’s arsenal of financial sanctions. But, as The Times of London reportsperhaps the US has found a crucial pain point for Putin – a sanctions regime that would target Putin’s personal wealth, which includes a reported $40 billion stashed in Swiss bank accounts.

    As The Hill reports,

The White House on Friday refused to comment on reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal wealth could be targeted if the West were to move ahead with additional sanctions over Ukraine.

I’m not going to get into foreshadowing particular individuals or entities that the United States may target,” national security adviser Susan Rice told reporters at the White House. “But let me just say we’ve been clear that there are additional individuals, officials, close associates of senior leadership, oligarchs and those entities that they are associated with that remain very much potential targets of additional sanctions.”

The Times of London reported Friday that the U.S. was preparing a sanctions regime that would target Putin’s personal wealth, which includes a reported $40 billion stashed in Swiss bank accounts.

Putin’s actual holdings are a tightly held secret, and the extent of his holdings are difficult to estimate. But a threat of trying to freeze the Russian president’s personal assets could have played a role in a deal brokered Thursday by foreign ministers from the U.S., Ukraine, Russia and European Union.

Perhaps it is worth remembering Putin’s response from last week’s Q&A

Putin was asked why the US can do whatever it wants and no one punishes them, while attempts are being made to punish Russia.

“The US is certainly one of the world’s leaders. At some point it seemed that it was the only leader and a uni-polar system was in place. Today it appears that is not the case. Everything in the world is interdependent and once you try to punish someone, in the end you will cut off your nose to spite your face,” he said.

Though we are sure Obama and his team have considered all the intended and unintended consequences of any such actions.

Is this administration totally incompetent or is the objective here to plunge us into a global military conflict?

No one can be this lacking in foreign policy and geo-political strategy, which leaves only the latter as a possibility…

So what does Russia do to make up the loss of revenue? Easy one! Generate a severe crisis in the Middle East with Iran, Syria, and others and drive the price of oil up to $125 to $150 for the summer. Get your revenge on the U.S. and everyone driving, and sell your oil at a much higher profit. Why not drive it up to $175 or higher a barrel? There are so many ways that Russia can get back money lost via energy.

The world still needs crude. That shale crap tar sand has a very low net energy gain and a very high cost to it. Few people understand that shale rock and tar sand need tremendous amounts of fresh water to refine it. Oil is still going to be a bargining chip and a means of control on the political stage. Russia has Iran, and that is still huge in the scheme of things. Saudi Arabia is not stockpiling on every weapon thay can get for no reason. Take out Saudi oil producing ability the cost of oil goes to over $200, maybe $300. Those oil producing nations will profit enomormously. Watch this to play out and pay at the pump possibly IF a world war doesn’t start fisrt if the U.S. continues to mess around in Russia’s business.

BI, I really don’t think the West can just ignore Putin’s land grabs. If the West doesn’t care, what is the response going to be when the next country starts taking over someone else’s sovereign territory. Putin reminds me of Sadam Hussein when he invaded Kuwait.

What if in 5 years the folks in California decide to secede and join Mexico, then, in a year all of the states bordering Mexico who have all kinds of ‘illegal alien’ populations vote to join Mexico as well. Will the US allow that to happen. Native born Americans are quickly becoming a minority in California, especially in the south. Beware what you wish for.

The elections held in Crimea and eastern Ukraine to secede from Ukraine cannot be recognized in the international arena or by the UN. Ukraine’s sovereign territory does not belong to Putin or the Russian Federation, Putin is the mischief maker and needs to be stopped. Hopefully he will come to his senses soon. Russia has nothing to gain in the long run by escalating the current confrontations with the West.

              • sixpack

Putin hasn’t ‘grabbed’ anything, and as for “What if in 5 years the folks in California decide to secede and join Mexico” —that’s nothing but a red herring. Ukraine did not ‘secede’ from Russia, it was given away against the will of the people, by Nikita Khruschev, another western puppet.

The PEOPLE VOTED overwhelmingly to rejoin Russia. As usual, your arguments don’t hold water, but do have a lot of irrational hatred and propaganda.

“Ukraine’s sovereign territory does not belong to Putin or the Russian Federation” —actually, yes it does now. We’re not the boss of the world, the NWO just thinks they can pull it off anyway.

The UN is nothing but a western hoax played out on the world. As such, it should be destroyed, in the interests of world peace.

You can pile on all the red thumbs you want, that doesn’t change the fact that there is no evidence of anything like what you claim. Russia has enough nukes that it doesn’t have to take any shit from us, yet they still do. WHY?

Maybe because Russia IS NOT the warmongers here—The U.S. is.

It is not russian spetsnaz in Mexico.
It is US marines in Finland (part of Russian Empire) –

“US Marines Black Sea Rotational Force” – WTF?

US planned to take over Crimea and Sevastopol Naval Base since 2010 or even earlier.
US spent $5 billon dollars in Ukraine to make it happen.
But Putin (not only him) turns out more artful.

Do not confront Russians (most populous white nation in the world) – you will loose no matter how good you are prepared!
Learn history – Russia always win earlier or later.

Modern Russia does not threaten other countries.
Most of the wars with Russia are defensive.

                • cam

About your comparison with the Crimea and California going to Mexico: I would consider California’s leaving a gift from the Almighty. If Mexico wants their debt, deficit spending, unfunded mandates, unfunded pensions, and bankrupt cities and state government, They can have it. Think of all the liberal socialist idiots we could pull out of the national discussion with one act.

                • Chris

U r a liar and a socialista propagandist! In 1937 Stalin, just to put terror in Ukraine has killend 3 million by starving them! So don’t u dare go lying! A world without America is a world lost in slavery and neo-feudal mentality and the mediocrity of the socialist leaders like Putin!!!

              • Be informed

@ laeagle. I always try to be fair, as I don’t support the U.S. when it is wrong. The U.S. is wrong with Russia and China. First of all NATO did not have to expand into the Baltic States that were once USSR. This placed the enmy within a 2 days walk of St. Petersberg. If this was Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean states with an enemy within firing range of short range missiles, the U.S. would be doing the same thing, again the Monroe Doctrine. You just can’t push your military right to the doorstep of someone and have them not react to protect themselves. This is national security.

The Ukraine problem is the because the west and the U.S. could not just leave well enough alone and let Ukraine stay Russia friendly like the people decided on in the last election. They had to stir up the cauldron because BO needs a war to get the U.S. out of the economic freefall.

In regard to Iraq and Kuwait. It was a British decision long ago to deny Iraq much of any type of harbor. Kuwiat was a country that should have been part Iraq. As with the U.S. there is plenty of land that they annexed from in this country’s history. Israel annexed the Golan Heights, the West bank, Gaza, Sinai Peninsula, which some of this was given back and some continues to build Israeli settlements on. Countries take ancient land back and incorporate them into their country. The U.S. takes personal property under the head of eminant domain whether someone likes it or not. Often with not such good and fair compensation.

Ask Bundy and others about the strongarm of the U.S. government, not against foreign nations, but their own citizens. Ask fellow Americans how the American government has treated them if they were not conforming and bowing down to whatever the government demanded. Fair or not. See how the unfair foreign policy has little difference between domestic policy of Americans. I was it was different, but like that prick reid said, anyone that supports Bundy or the protection of the Constitution is a domestic terrorist.

I have a big problem with the U.S. going in and “freeing” Libya and taking sides and then calling foul over Syria and Russia getting back a stragetic essential port for their navy. Did NATO have the right to go in and allow Yugoslavia to be carved up into several separate countries? What about Iraq and thousands of dead and tens of thousands of injuried soldiers later, along with trillions wasted and a country worse off before when hussein was contained?

The U.S. is spending our tax dollars on imperialistic adventures and getting into other people’s business. Money that could be used in this countru to rebuild the infrastructure and create hundreds of thousands of good paying American jobs. Messing around with a country that could in 30 minutes make this whole country a smoking crisp. The U.S. is completely wrong 100% and the whole situation is almost entirely because of NATO and the U.S. not knowing when to stop pushing Russia into a corner where it MUST fight or surrender. This is costing all Americans money and if it continues to accelerate, the whole country will be lost because this is the way war works, it becomes not conventional awful quickly.

The more unfair a country like the U.S. is, the more it becomes hated or less allied/ England even voted not to support an attack on Syria showed just how little respect the U.S. and BO has. The U.S. is destroying itself in world opinion by acting just like Rome. Even the collapse of the money system and decentalization parallels it. The U.S. pulling back to fix the whopping problems at home needs to be first and foremost. Just look at the storm destruction of the recent hurricanes to the Louisana wetlands and sand bars that protect it from future super hurricanes that could be done to your home state if the U.S. wasn’t wasting so much money away from the U.S. Sorry for the long winded soapbox, but I am very tired of the U.S. allowing this country to fall apart while helping other countries to crumble apart.

                • sixpack

That was absolutely beautiful, BI. Just perfect. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

                  • sixpack

There is just one more rather uncomfortable thought that I’d like to bring up for consideration.

Everyone but the short-sighted must see by now, that the main reason why there is so much political anger against Putin right now, is simply because PUTIN IS NOT ALLOWING THE NWO TO PROVOKE HIS COUNTRY INTO WORLD WAR III.

Add to that, that Putin pretty much single-handedly stopped the invasion into Syria. They published some disturbing truth about Benghazi, details our government hid from us. Russia also had a small hand in the Iran conflict and the other would-be escalation into a world war that didn’t happen.

Russia has consistently vetoed aggressions in the middle east…U.S./EU led aggressions in the UN. Don’t take my word for it, look it up yourselves.

Every one of us in the good old US of A, should be searching our souls right now for whatever truth we have left.

We should be thinking about how the USA, as the designated attack dog country of the NWO, can even think about vilifying Russia for doing what WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING FOR DECADES…

RESISTING THE NEW WORLD ORDER and resisting their propaganda and lies.

                    Let the red thumbs begin…

                • shortchanged

Well done ‘Be informed’ , I heartily agree with your comments, just a small point I would like to add.

There is reportedly two or more US warships in the Black Sea, very close to Crimea and Russian Ports.
What would President Obama say or do, if Russian warships went to the Gulf of Mexico and cruised around, as the US ships are doing in the Black sea? Choke on their Cherios probably.
I am not anti Amercan, just anti aggression.
As an Englishman I abhor the banging of war drums by the UK goverment and wish for some peace in my old age.
Our Defence Forces are for just that, Defence, not invading and killing other people in countries that have not done us harm. As I see it, President Putin is operating in his own backyard which has nothing to do with US, UK, or indeed nato, which in my opinion should be abolished. We should all go home and stay there.

I must agree with dear old Six Pack that you are a gentleman and a scholar of the first order. I was honored by a lot of red thumbs in my comments above. I guess I am a product of the cold war and staunchly anticommunist. I have seen what the communist have done and my family have suffered grievously at the hands of the communist. Like a talk radio host says, “I know them like I know every inch of my glorious body”. I do not think the “cold war” is over since Putin has come to power. It has become quite apparent that the Kremlin is haunted by their downfall and losses and is trying to revive their games again for world domination.

Six Pack, I had never heard that Kruschev was a Western Puppit. Maybe that is why he backed down from raining nuclear messiles on to the US back during the Cuban messile crisis in the 60s. Perhaps you also deserve the title of “a lady and a scholar”. Thank you for enlightening me. I do not hate the Russians per se. One of my childhood heroes a man known as the ‘Tiger Man’, Sasha Seimel was Russian.

Those of you who get your news from Russia Today, Pravda, etc., let it be known that it is nothing but lies and propaganda that has been carefully and craftily produced by one of the greatest propaganda machines in human history. Unfortunately, the media in the West has become unreliable and most can no longer be considered an independent news source.

BI, you try to make an eloquent case against the West and on the side of Putin and the Kremlin but if you are getting your info from Pravda and RT (you have recommended RT as a source several times) then your arguments are all based on false premises and facts. A Commie (Putin and the Kremlin) by any other name is still a Commie.

Six Pack, I really don’t know enough about the NWO, but you seem to know quite a bit. I look forward to hearing more about the NWO. Watching Red Dawn, I always thought we were concerned about the Russians invading the USA, I guess that is not the case. They, the Russians, will be fighting along side us against the NWO now. We can look to Putin and his Comrades to fund our insurgency against the NWO invaders when they try to take over this country and come knocking on our doors! It gets pretty confusing for this old ‘cold warrior’. (smile). As they say, politics sure does make strange bedfellows.

I don’t know about Mexico, but, the Spetznaz were in the Ukraine before Russia annexed Crimea!

Have you heard about those long range bomber incursions into Western and American airspace? Of course that was not provocative. They were just friendly fly-overs as they tipped their wings to the folks below.

                  • shortchanged

I must protest at some of your assertions laeagle, the Russian aircraft were not flying in American airspace, unless of course you think that all the North Atlanic area belongs to the USA, which of course it does not. They were in fact in International Airspace, in which they are entitled to be.
President Putin is defending his own Countrymen and territory, as he has a duty to do. Can’t you see he has done everythig he can to calm the situation down, but Mr Obama and Mr Kerry are hell bent on provoking Mr Putin with threats and bully boy tactics, and dragging the EU and possibly the rest of the world into war. Those that call for war should be the ones to fight it, that way wars would not happen.

                  • laeagle

Do you remember the reports of longrange Russian bombers straying into US airspace up in Alaska? Perhaps I am dreaming? Check it out. The Russians have been supporting many communist and dictatorial tyrants around the world and in our own backyard. To paint them as if they were the ones being bullied by Nato and the West is to not understand the geopolitical games that Russia has been playing. Russia’s role in Iran and Syria and other Middle-Eastern countries has been to undermine the West in any and every way possible. The ‘Cold War’ has been reignited and Russia is at the center of it.

Six Pack, It is hard to construe that Russia is trying to prevent WWIII from happening based on all the things that it has been doing around the globe and in Europe particularly.

The biggest threat for WWIII will be from the volatile regions in the Middle-East and particularly from Iran. WWIII could ignite from what is happening along Russia’s borders with Europe but the Europeans and Nato’s response have been very restrained so far in spite of repeated Russian aggression. Putin is scoping out the perimeters and seeing what he can get away with knowing the US has some of the weakest and dumbest leaders in the history of the ‘free-world’ and the US military has been downsized to WWII levels.

I can’t say that NONE of them had learned about the Constitution, American history, etc.

Maybe the plan behind this is to send American born military abroad to foreign lands. Keep the immigrant military here, to deploy as needed here in the U.S.

Currently, many foreigners enlist at Embassies abroad. If they complete their enlistment to an Honorable Discharge, they are granted US citizenship. If they are killed in action, the grant is automatic. They are screened at the Embassy carefully, one of the duties of the Marine guard details and the military attaché section there.

This proposal, however, is for citizenship for illegal aliens, or the children of illegals, the instant they sign up. No screening, just enlist. Want to bet this would expand to service in some kind of civilian program? In a heartbeat. Sign up for Meals on Wheels or some La Raza charity and, bingo, you are now a citizen.

              What a crock idea.

              • durango kidd

I served with a Cuban in Nam. He was a refugee from Communist Cuba. He joined the Marine Corp and had served honorably for six years, and was applying for citizenship when I met him.

If an Illegal is willing to serve for six years and receives an Honorable Discharge, his citizenship should be automatic.

Such citizenship should be conveyed AFTER, and only AFTER an Illegal has honorably served. Illegals need to EARN their citizenship before they qualify for any benefits like food stamps, health care, and Taxpayer Forge for their cattle. 🙂

                • sixpack

“and Taxpayer For{a}ge for their cattle” Bundy is not an illegal alien. If one looks at it, it’s also partly HIS family’s public land too, and he has the same rightto use it as the rest…stupid sheep.

sixpack: As a “Sovereign Man” by his own definition, he is an alien. You cannot be a “Sovereign Man” and a citizen of the United States.

The terms are mutually exclusive. 🙂

He is either a “Sovereign Man”, or he is an American citizen subject to the laws of the land. If he is an American citizen, then he needs to pay grazing fees like all the other ranchers do….

And taxes, just like the rest of US. He is not special. He is a criminal. 🙂

Got damn, The Durango ‘Krugman’ Kidd proclaims that a person is a criminal and deserves his just sentence! Who are we to argue against such a defender of The empire? Revenuers never had such a good friend as they have with the likes of the Durango ‘Krugman’ Kidd.

                    Sieg frickin’ heil.

            • Just Me

This really isn’t a new idea…. I joined the Air Force in 1977. There was a Mexican guy in my unit. One day we were all sitting around, talking and telling each other where everyone was from. When we got to him, he said he wasn’t an American. Everyone was like, “Huh?”

He then explained he joined the U.S. Air Force right from Mexico, under a program that would get him U.S. citizenship for serving in our military. Most of us didn’t have a problem with that, figuring that if a guy is willing to fight for our country, that’s probably the kind of guy who deserves to be a citizen. A big difference from those who sneak in illegally.

              • Average Guy

They get here, they get jobs, they live.

                Same as any other.

Maybe there’s a problem about benefits being tossed about, but they are the same as bird seed being tossed about at a bird feeder, don’t complain about who shows up to eat if you’re giving out Free Food!
Concentrate instead upon the very idea of giving out Free Food at your expense and stop worrying about free range humans.

Or, what? You’re Not a free range human? You accept an ownership upon – you – telling you where you can go and where you cannot? If so, why? Also, what the heck does the word ‘freedom’ mean to you? Let alone the word, ‘liberty’.

            • WonHungLo

And they will receive big tax checks sent to them for thousands of dollars for EIC and other “dependents”–because the mexicos have learned the loophole in the chalupa–that you can claim any dependents ( nieces, nephews, sons, daughters, aunts, grandparents) even if they reside in a foreign country.

That’s right tax paying American slaves—the latinos get billions of dollars annually by simply writing “Maria” and “Jose” ten times on all of the dependent lines and claiming they are supporting 10 familia in latin america on their roofer/fruit picker/landscaper/hotel maid/dishwasher salaries.

Surely Putin can file economic sanctions too. E.g. none of your ships can go East from China. That would THEN make EVERY AMERICAN poke their head up from the couch and realize something ain’t right. Or, since he probably wants to deal with the Chinese, maybe he says, no oil tankers from Saudi. Since the Saudis largely bought out large parts of our national gobblement, then this would be a death blow. Perhaps the $40B theft is a response to something Putin has already done but which has not come to light… maybe he’s building a pipeline from Iran and will finally give the Saudi’s some competition. The main economic reason Iraq had to be squashed was they could be producing as much oil as Saudi – and the Saudi’s didn’t want the competition. That’s my guess.

Read your Masonic literature carefully, Jim in VA.

Masons worship the “Great Architect of the Universe.” The gnostic ambiguity of that worshipful term is slowly unwrapped degree by degree until, as the most important US Mason Albert Pike documented in pre-1913 editions of Morals and Dogma, the Masonic adept discovers he is actually worshipping Lucifer.

Not only the testimony of defectors from Judeo-Masonry, but open publications, document the Judeo-Masonic worship of Satan and the subservience to his synagogue, even to “rebuilding the Temple.”

At this point, you “blue” Masons, remaining ignorant, provide useful even occasionally philanthropic cover for the wicked higher orders of command and control.

MT, I am in complete agreement with you. I really do not understand the love-fest for Putin. The man is a theif and a KGB thug. The West doen not have any other option but to resist the bastard and if war is what he wants then there is no choice but to protect ourselves. MAD has worked in the past but it may not be a deterrent now that Obama has weakened our military capabilities. I think economic sanctions are a viable first step but there needs to be strong leadership that can articulate and mobilize a strong response. Putin is the Kim Jong Un of Russia. Just like Reagan told Gorbachev to tear down those walls, the West (I dare not say Obama) perhaps under the leadership of Merkel of Germany needs to tell Putin to let go of Ukraine’s sovereign territory.

So IF Putin has $40 billion, he’s what, number 5 on the evil rich person’s list?

            • Mountain Trekker

sixpack you merely proved a point, out of all those Billionaires only 2 are Politicians, and they’re both Communist. Putins one, see if you can guess who the other one is. (Clue) Both want to tell you what to do, and both would like to take your guns. Trekker Out.

              • sixpack

Somehow Putin didn’t make Forbes list…ever thought that maybe the idea that Putin is a billionaire might be, oh I dunno, maybe a LIE or just plain propaganda?

Oh yeah, they can’t risk making themselves out a liar so obviously PUTIN’S billions are hidden from view…that way they can make any claim they want to, without fear of being found out.

How convenient that PUTIN is the only man on the planet who can completely hide billions in wealth…

Give it a rest. If 40 billion is in rubles, at 36 rubles to 1 dollar, he’s not so wealthy after all, is he?

                …that’s really only about $1,121,426,250.06

                • wrong

                  I wish I wasn’t wealthy like Putin. Only $1,121,426,250.06! Poor slob…

But I understand your point sixpack.

Me too, but you’ve got to admit, the fact that he does not have what people claim he does, looks less like he’s a gaddafi, or someone who robbed their own country. It looks more like useless propaganda to me.

        • durango kidd

Exactly Mac! The NWO PTB evidently thinks that they can crush Putin’s Russia while avoiding MAD. If I were Putin, I would pick up the phone and tell the Swiss President in no uncertain terms:

“Allow the WEST to confiscate my accounts and I will turn Switzerland into a cinder before the sun goes down the next day!”

That would get the attention of Switzerland. 🙁

          • sixpack

            Absolutely! What leader wouldn’t?

what makes you think he hasn’t done JUST THAT, DK?

        • TAKE NO SHIT!

To be honest who ever does this to the Russian people because the Ukraines don’t want to join the (European Union) are truly a pack of M F idiots in want of education.

I do not believe for one minute that the President and people in power of our country would do this. Our country is run by the most wonderful, dedicated and exemplary employees in the world. Intelligence is something they ALL have.

We have lots of jobs, all the young people and old alike are taken care of like Kings and Queens. This is paradise. The the person who would authorize such a thing could have only one wish in their head…….how soon will I die.

        • JustMe

I’d wager that if such a thing occurs, it will be because obummer’s owners bemand it. After all, Russia is in the nwo’s way. And don’t think for one minute that they care waht happens to any of us…

          • sixpack

“After all, Russia is in the nwo’s way”

Exactly. Does anyone here really think the U.S would stand for another country freezing any of our 8 billionaires fortunes? Of course not. This govt would be squealing about the injustices, like a bunch of wild pigs with their hooves in a trap.

Anyone who cannot recognize the double-speak in all of these actions, from 9/11, Iraq, Syria, Libya and Egypt, on up to Russia, is willfully blind or so full of hatred, that they can’t reason anymore.

50% of the country would vote for BHO again, if they had the opportunity. The same people will cast their votes for whatever Democrat is put up in 2016. If BHO hasn’t finished us off by then, President Hillary can administer the coup de gras.

U r talking about Russia of course! They need to be stopped! Incation is NOT the answer! As of July 1st 2014, the FACTA Title V act goes into full swing.

The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) is a United States statute that requires United States persons, including individuals who live outside the United States, to report their financial accounts held outside of the United States, and requires foreign financial institutions to report to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) about their American clients. Congress enacted FATCA to make it more difficult for U.S. taxpayers to conceal assets held in offshore accounts and shell corporations and to recoup federal tax revenues. The FATCA is a portion of the 2010 Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act.

This allows the confiscation of a lot more than just the 40 Billion that Putin has amassed. ALL Americans with foreign accounts (including Swiss) are going to have their account balances reported to the IRS, the ages old junk yard dog of corrupt administrations.

The fish nets are heavy and they are reeling them in. Have to collect all that fiat while they can , just prior to WW III. Many countries are doing similar measures.

        • buttcrackofdoom

          party like it’s 1939!

        • KY Mom

I expect more Americans will renounce their U.S. citizenship.

Delayed, from HR 2847, FATCA will go into effect July 1, 2014. This will make it nearly impossible for Americans to protect savings accounts.

Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)

Incredibly, 48 Nations Embrace FATCA To Reveal U.S. Depositors
“FATCA is four years old but it is still being ramped up for its big worldwide rollout July 1, 2014. Foreign banks must hand over the details of American account holders … or face serious repercussions.”

“With disclosures, prosecutions and summonses, the IRS is getting quicker, better and more complete information than ever.”

“After foreign institutions identify U.S. account holders, FATCA requires the institutions to impose a 30% tax on payments or transfers to any who REFUSE to step up and get into full U.S. compliance.

At first, Foreign financial institutions (FFIs) MUST report account numbers, balances, names, addresses, and U.S. taxpayer identification numbers. For U.S. owned foreign entities, they MUST REPORT the name, address, and U.S. TIN of each substantial U.S. owner.”

Are You Ready to be an Unpaid Government Spy
“FATCA is one of the worst laws ever written. In addition to requiring yet more disclosures for US taxpayers who have foreign accounts, FATCA also MANDATES EVERY FOREIGN FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ON THE PLANET TO SHARE CUSTOMER INFORMATION WITH THE IRS.”

“But what most people don’t know is that FATCA contains an obscure, broadly-written provision that potentially turns every single US taxpayer into a government spy.”

“You see, the law decrees that if a foreign bank or business does NOT comply with FATCA requirements, then everyone else in the financial system MUST WITHHOLD a 30% PENALTY on ANY PAYMENT TO THAT BANK OR BUSINESS.”

          • durango kidd

Time to move to a Flat Tax like Russia where everyone pays 13%. Then WE could eliminate the IRS, increase tax revenue and lower costs!

ALL income to be taxed at the same rate, including corporate income.

All in favor of eliminating the IRS give me a red thumb. 🙂

            • Average Guy

The Durango ‘Krugman’ Kid wrote, “Time to move to a Flat Tax like Russia”

          • WonHungLo

And the institutions that defey the IRS will have a flood of new customers. The IRS will be constantly trying to identify such institutions. Iran or DPRK may jump into this. If USA issues threats, Iran would detonate abn atomic bomb to clear up the ambiguity concerning whether they have one, and make it known that they have more than a few.

        • Poon Tang

Socrates, well done as usual. I would love to see all the politicians have their Swiss and Cayman accounts exposed. Publicly in the world press.

Never happen, unless a congressman fails to tow the NWO line. Only then, will they sacrifice him on the NWO alter. The NWO globalists have nothing to fear…the U.S. can’t touch them or their money.

This is another reason why Putin is not a NWO puppet…he’d be invincible if he was.

        • sixpack

Maybe so, but it will not affect the NWO globalists—you can bet on that.

          • sixpack

to the red thumbs—do you really believe the NWO globalists banksters would do anything to financially destroy the world, without first protecting THEIR OWN ASSETS from harm?

            You’ve got to be delusional.

The globalists won’t lose a nickel, no matter how they manipulate the economies of the world.

Kill ’em all and let God sort it out.

“Putin was asked why the US can do whatever it wants and no one punishes them, while attempts are being made to punish Russia.” …..yeah, why IS THAT?…..on the other hand, my first thought was where did putin get 40 BILLION, with a capitol B……it’s clear to ME, culpability is EVERYWHERE you look. lock ’em ALL up, i say!

        • Walt Kowalski

If you lock them up, there’s a chance they’ll eventually get out.

Well, if we have to wonder where he got his money, then there is no proof of wrong-doing. But Russians are not innocent until proven guilty, because the NWO banksters hate him.

      5. David Chu

Mr. “Tyler Durden” or the “Tyler Durdens” of has gone off the deep end. The operative question here, besides this piece of yellow journalism from infowars, is “Does President Putin really have $40 billion stashed in Switzerland???” Remember, he is THE Russian President who forbade his government officials from having secret accounts in foreign banks in the first place because of this precise and potential threat. So, before we go off the tangent and chase white rabbits down disinfo and misinfo holes, people need to stop and think about the veracity of this story.

        • admin

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that Vladimir Putin, who essentially has defacto control of all Russian resource interests, is the richest individual in the world. I’ve made this point previously and I believe it to be true today.

Just because Putin restricted capital flows out of Russia for others doesn’t mean he didn’t engage in this activity himself. He is after all, the guy in charge, and the guy in charge (especially in Russia) gets to do whatever he wants.

Whether he has $40 billion in assets held in Switzerland is the question — but that he has $40 billion (or more), in my view, is not.

I certainly see your point here and we should question the reports here as we would with any other.

          • David Chu

When one has the ultimate power of life and death on planet earth that President Putin has, I suggest everyone here do some research on something called “Perimeter” or “Dead Hand”, $40 billion is pocket change. And even that is a presumption and assumption that is being floated around without any proof whatsoever.

Mac, you say that President Putin has $40 billion somewhere ~ can you prove it, document it?

            • Charley Waite

Who are you? I don’t remember your name around here and certainly you haven’t built up the rep to bust in here and demand Mac do anything. And why pimp your “Escape to Patagonia” sales pitch when one clicks on your handle?

Here is One of the Factors, driving this NWO Globalist War against Russian’s Putin. If you follow Russian Politics, Putin is very much a Christian, and has raised the Christian Church to a new level. Putin also has rid the High level Russian Government positions of all Jews, unlike in America.
“The Difference Between Putin and Obama. – You Got to See This!!” on YouTube So as you see this war against Putin, is really the US Jewish Movement using Americans to fight their Religious War. Don’t be fooled folks. Let the Jews fight their own wars.

so lets cease money from another world leader with nuclear capability. Sounds real smart to me. Expectantly since we have such a strong leader in america. I would be all for going after Putin if we had a strong leader with a back bone, but since we have what we have i would sit back and let the situation play out with out personally attacking a person like Putin. Let’s just hope, for the sake of argument that Pres. Putin knows who’s is pulling this off. A rouge administration with ignorant criminals at the helm. So let’s hope if Putin is going to take a shot, let him target the problem, not Americans. The good thing is, Putin is not an idiot. However though he has a kindergartner for an opponent that is accustom to buying off poor peoples votes in order to maintain his position. Hammerun, “Putin knows who’s is pulling this off.” Wise words. I too think Putin has shown great restraint towards the monkey with a hand grenade. I truly don’t think Putin WANTS to pollute the entire world for centuries with nukes…or he certainly would have already.

The propaganda and lies in this Ukraine thing, are astonishing.

In a previous post, I courteously listed the GPS coordinates to obummer’s place, hoping he’d return the favor and blow the monkey off the planet for us…wishful thinking, I know.

Seriously, I do believe that Putin is aware that, with the exceptions of some who are still stuck in the cold war, WE the people do not approve of this administration and their activities…not at all.

It sucks, however, to see some people on here, posting like a left-wing libtard, oblivious to the differences between fact and fantasy.

They don’t seem to be able to understand, that it isn’t a love for Putin or Russia that evokes these seemingly “pro-Putin” comments, as much as it is CONTEMPT and HATRED for the HNIC.

          Oh well—DIVIDED WE FALL.

ALL of the ‘nincompoops’ there in the District of Criminals need to realize that ‘Vlad’ has a whole bunch of options available to him, while the United States has very few. For one thing, he is much closer to the action than Barak is.

What do you suppose happens when Russia turns the natural gas that supplies most of Europe with heat to the “off” position. Europe quickly ‘caves-in’ and the United States is left standing there, all alone, with her dick in her hand and a funny look on her face.

Barak Obama, the politicians and the rest of the 1% aren’t very likely to suffer the immediate consequences of their ill advised foreign policies …….. we, the average citizen of the United States, get to enjoy that.

I really hope God & Jesus Christ do love me …….. my damn government very obviously doesn’t hold me or my family in very high regard.

There can be little doubt that humanity is burdened by the fact that there are absolute psychopaths operating both as the puppets(presidents, prime ministers, etc.) as well as the puppeteers(global financial oligarchs, military industrial complex, etc.)

Clearly those dark entities are witnessing the “great awakening” that is currently taking place and they are ratcheting up their efforts/timelines in a attempt to snuff out the Light.

I urge all of my Brothers and Sisters to stay true the course for we are beginning to be buffeted by the leading edge of the storm.

Yes Putin has many options , I don,t think that he wants to hurt the people of the US. But he wants the US off his back. The people that pull the strings of BO,the elite is where all of our. trouble is. I,m sure that if a few of these Rothchild families were targeted they would string up there black puppet pretty quick.

          • sixpack

Had Putin wanted to hurt the American people, or if he was on the quest to conquer the world, as some people think, he would have let the nukes fly already, while we were busy in Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Ukraine at the same time.

While we’re spread pretty thin and almost broke.

      14. Miss DeeDee

Two weeks before BO placed sanctions on Russia’s elite he warned them so. They all removed their assets from harms way. Are we to believe Putin left his $40 Bil. fortune in a breifcase on some subway platform by accident for us to scoop up. Besides that, If Putin decided to drop 80 thousand troops into the heart of Switzerland’s financial district all he might expect is our leader’s stern warning that there would be serious consequences to follow.
I’m headed to the bank to transfer most of my money this afternoon to a safer vault.

Putin didnt become one of the richest men in the world because he is lucky, shrewd is a better description, like i said before, you can buy a whole lot of cooperation and friends with 40 billion dollars,,

          • sixpack

But if he did that, he wouldn’t have $40 billion dollars…only the NWO banksters can have their money and spend it too…

            • sixpack

Also, Bill Gates has almost twice what WE THINK Putin has, so how much could that eugenicist buy?

      15. Jeff

It is possible that Obama’s deep to the core of his being hatred of the USA, is of such magnitude, that he wants to provoke a war with Russia? I can not see how once the shooting starts that all of the weapons we and they have would not be used, including the chemical, biological and nuclear weapons would not be employed.

One of the traits that liberal seem to have is the inabilty or unwillness to understand the concept of unintended consequences. Do they really think, one can deprive a guy like Putin of 40 billion of his money and he will respond exactly they want him to? Of course, when he does not they will be once again be/act suprised. They will again state, as an axcuse, that they had good intentions and only ment well.

        • Prepper

Jeff, it’s the perfect setup for a false flag. BO secretly orders nuclear, chemical, or biological attack on Americans, blames Putin for it, and then institutes martial law, suspends the Constitution, and implements the executive order that turns us all into slaves.

          • Jeff

Prepper, you have made a good observation. I would not put it past him to do a false flag event as that. We, the public have been lied to in the past, when the president wanted military action, certainly within the life time or everyone reading this blog. Antichrist Obama has lied so often, one has to wonder, when is he telling us the truth?
A war with Russia is never a good plan. Never. If the FUSA goes to war against Russia, we WILL lose it. The reality is that their stuff is good enough. The arm chair generals can say what they want about our military hardware is so much better than the Russians. We’re going to lose because, the FUSA does not have the industrial base to manufacture things faster than the Russians can break them. One of the reasons why we won WW II was we out produced the Nazis and the Japs. Numbers do matter.
Item two, the Russians just may have some friends who want a piece of the action and spoils too. It is possible that the China and Russia might have a back room deal to devide up the USA, much like the Nazis and the USSR devided up Poland between them. It will suck to be us.

            • Hill billy

I’ve been to Russia. By necessity, those people get a lot of milage from their resources. As far as the U.S. having neater toys, the more pipe you have, the easier it is to stop up the plumbing. We derided their spacecraft technology, but who do we pay cab fare to in order to get to the ISS? Skylab lasted what? Maybe a year? MIR was the Energizer bunny. We greatly outspend them on military hardware, but mostly becaise the MIC sells us things (that don’t live up to their promises) at hugely inflated prices. ie: the F35

Jeff, very plausible scenario, but what bothers me more, is that if Mt trekker and laeagle are any example of what this country really thinks, they will pull off such a scenario without a hiccup. Perhaps the anti-Russian rhetoric is gauging just that…how easily the Russia-haters can be duped because of their irrational hatred of Russia, for the sake of hatred.

You can thumb me down if you like, but we all realize that hatred is blinding, so blinding that you can’t see the truth through the hate.

Whatever the NWO wants—I DON’T. Even if that means supporting Putin. I hate the NWO ideology a lot more than a country that isn’t doing anything to me.

Even IF this “threat” to Putin is true — which in all likelihood it isn’t — $40 billion is probably just a fraction of Putin’s fortune.

There are big bucks in feeling sorry for the poor…just look at the wealth that has been accumulated by Hillary and Billy Boy, Jesse Jackson, Moochelle and Barry, and any other of the numerous supposed advocates of the downtrodden. Look at the wealth accumulated by Castro, by Chavez in Venezuela, by Nelson Mandela, by Harry Reid….the list continues into oblivion.

This supposed threat is no more serious than is Obama’s intention to ever approve the Keystone pipeline. And guess what, the reason for further delaying it has nothing to do with supposedly placating big money environmentalist donors. The REAL reason is to hold out so long that Canada has no choice but to sell their oil to Communist China, instead of selling it to us via the Keystone pipeline. Barry uses U.S. policy to benefit the Communist cause in every manner possible, at every opportunity possible, and as often as possible. Let’s hope and pray that Canada can outlast him.

NO ONE is going to take Putin’s money, he’s too savvy and smart. He’s always several steps ahead of Obomba.
What will happen is that Russia and China will precipitate a deliberate attempt to crash the petrodollar in retaliation of any serious sanctions that impact Russia negatively.
Thus far the so-called sanctions have been ludicrous at best. ANd that IS a good thing, as this whole Ukraine affair is none of our damn business!

Furthermore, Ukraine is NOT worth we here in the USA to die for in a possible “hot” war. In such a scenario there would be NO winners, as everyone in the world would lose. The bankers would emerge from their bunkers to a dying and poisoned world.
One would hope that logic will prevail and lunacy be done with!
Putin is not afraid to brace Obama and call his bluff.

        • Snowed

Dude, let’s see, you are a banker in Switzerland and somebody phones you up from the USA and says “freeze that Putin account”. Now, what do you THINK you would do? Moscow is 4 hrs by plane and 2,500km. New York is 8 hrs away. Sure, USA has airforce in Germany; but, i’ll bet Russia has feet on the street in Zurich. We’re not talking about some CEO fatcat in the USA or some wacko military ruler in Libya.

          • Kulafarmer

Yep, definitely not, your talking about a powerful leader who has the respect of more than two thirds of his countrymen and the rest fear him, not like ours where 1/3 love him, 2% respect him and the rest hate his ass!

      28. Npgh

Whether it’s $40 for $40 billion it doesn’t matter, it is a personal and direct threat from the US.

      29. chow

In my opinion I think Obama is paving a way for him to declare martial law before 2016 election and declare himself president for life and field marshal of the armed forces like Idi Amin Dada.

First he will declare war with Russia when Putin decides to respond harshly to the sanctions imposed on Russia. The US will then be in turmoil because of lack of funds to wage war; thus printing more money and the world losing faith on American credit creating hyperinflation and Obama declaring state of emergency ordering ban on public gatherings, confiscation of wealth, total control on all food and supplies. He doesn’t have to send his goons house to house to confiscate firearms because he knows people are not bond together to create a rebel army to go against.

        • Mich

          Good analysis, chow.

That is also why I believe he is reviving

          the Cold War.

He can bring about all the things you

mentioned in the guise of National

          Security against the Russians without

firing a shot. After obama gets everything

he wants here, it’s easy to call off

the so-called Cold War. No harm, no foul.

      30. mallardhen

BO is a schoolyard bully, without a doubt, but I think Mr. Putin is not and he is playing for real, BO may have bit off more then he can chew if he goes on with his intentions. War is not pretty for anyone least of all a country with as many problems as we seem to have at the moment, the ones who will pay the final price are the US citizens who seem to get the short end of most of BO deals anyway.

Weedhopper, I know from experience that’s a difficult position to take, but I understand why. All of the veterans in my family discouraged me from going into the service back in the 70s. the military just uses people. then look at how the government treats veterans after they have left the service, especially the VA. My vet relatives won’t deal with the VA, period! It’s not worth the trouble you have to through to get those medical benefits. Putin Ill Duce acquires 40 billion dollars into off state accounts, yeah he’s a real good guy and a Russian patriot. That $40,000,000,000.00 put into the Russian economy could have been spread around ten fold and employed many more than the few Swiss bankers that it now employs.
