For years the government has been stockpiling weapons, ammunition, riot gear and armored vehicles. Military personnel have been training in tandem with federal and local police using everything from fully armed helicopters to tanks across America’s major cities in what appears to be a hybridization of domestic law enforcement agencies. Yet, questions about these shadowy activities have been dismissed by media and public officials as nothing more than training designed to help our country’s fight against terrorism at home and abroad.
But while the majority of Americans either have no clue this is happening or simply prefer to keep their heads in the sand, a new report from the Washington Times via Infowars suggests otherwise.
The armaments, training and anti-terror directives are not for use against terrorists in some far-off war zone like Afghanistan, but rather, are designed for American citizens right here at home.
Yes, you are the target.
The troubling aspect of the directive outlines presidential authority for the use of military arms and forces, including unarmed drones, in operations against domestic unrest.
“This appears to be the latest step in the administration’s decision to use force within the United States against its citizens,” said a defense official opposed to the directive.
Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” was issued Dec. 29, 2010, and states that U.S. commanders “are provided emergency authority under this directive.”
“Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,” the directive states.
“In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” under two conditions.
The conditions include military support needed “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” A second use is when federal, state and local authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”
“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” the directive states.
Military assistance can include loans of arms, ammunition, vessels and aircraft. The directive states clearly that it is for engaging civilians during times of unrest.
This is not some conspiracy theory or sensationalist view of government operations. This is an actual military directive to be executed under orders from the President of the United States.
The tens of of billions of dollars spent on ensuring that these directives are successful once implemented indicate, in no uncertain terms, that the government is planning on this actually happening at some point in the future. Otherwise, why spend the time, money and effort?
This latest revelation shows that the U.S. government has a plan for quelling widespread civil unrest. And, earlier this year Dave Hodges shed light on another important aspect of these directives: what to do with those civilians who aren’t killed when the military rises up against Americans:

Food hygiene will become even more important in an emergency, as nasty though it sounds to say it out loud, an attack of the squits could kill without access to modern medical facilities. If the US defaults in all that money borrowed, land as collateral, wouldn’t you as a holder of debt try to repo the asset? If you have a heavily armed populace, and the not just the US collapses, but the whole world, I would think invasion. We are the breadbasket of the world (that’s seems to be going away). If I was another country, holder of defunct treasures, a pissed of populace who was suffering, would I invade another country, where the populace is already irratatated at their own government. Willing to allow another to invade and engage the people? Not only would it be a bloodbath, it would thin out the herd. Oh, the NDAA, that Is used for collaborators. Just a thought, nothing seems to make sense anymore, so why not speculate in other possibilities? This scenario is as bad as “they”or “them” are coming after you. I’ll take my rural county as an example; we have at the top 25 total Law Enforcement that’s all towns and county. Now how long do you think 25 LE will last? Even if its 250 or 1000 not long if they get involved, no they will not get involved they will just go home like any sane person would do. It boils down to numbers, boots on the ground and the way I see it they are not there. Some will say the National Guard, we have a Company in my county but 75% do not live in it, so they will have to drive several miles to reach the Armory no way they will stay home also. Again it boots on the ground in most of the counties in the states and they are not there. My thoughts from the river bank.

Yes this is true. However, the point is that posse comitatus was in effect, and Patton did this in 1932, he wasn’t even a General yet. He was following orders, even if he thought it was distasteful. Look at Kent state, Waco… This list goes on and on.
Yes, I know you’re right. I guess what I was trying to get at, was that those people we tend to idolize as “war heroes”, like Patton, are idolized for the amount of death and destruction they caused to the enemy. In war, that’s how you “win.”
Therefore it follows that people like Patton could / would be every bit as ruthless OFF the battlefield. Patton followed orders to destroy, mercilessly, everything in this path during the war; why would anyone think he would discern any difference between one order and the next? After all—a target is a target.
Another example would be General Sherman’s March to the Sea during the Civil war. History has hailed Sherman as “hero”, for the total annihilation of everything in his path…but is that really all a “hero” is?

The biggest problem is the majority of the people don’t know what’s going on outside of their sphere. To work, home, and the store, that’s all most know.

I would like to request other readers’ opinions of the best HANDGUN (not rifles or shotguns) against JBTs-in-uniforms for use in large scale civil disturbances. Consider the following options:
10mm in a 1911 frame (Kimber). Low capacity, high penetration, high cost, high accuracy, easy to switch out magazines, difficult to find ammunition except on the internet.
vs.
10mm in a Glock 20. High capacity, high penetration, moderate cost, medium accuracy, easy to switch out magazines.
vs.
44 magnum. Low capacity, high penetration, moderate cost, high accuracy, slow reloading.
vs.
45 ACP. Low capacity, low penetration, moderate cost, high accuracy, fast reloading.
Best not to be involved in any ‘large scale disturbances’ with these options. 10mm is too expensive and when you’re out of ammo, you’re screwed. .44 with ball will go through most anything you need to and .45 will give you a few more shots before someone gets you. If you need a handgun, maybe get a contender with a 45-70 and line them up. That way 1 shot will take out the whole bunch!
If you can stay away from mass chaos, go with the .44. Load it light for practice and it’s easy to stockpile now cause ammo’s still on the shelf. The west was won with a .44 and a lever gun! And they will still be working after all the autos jam up.

A pistol is for close quarters and would not be the ideal choice compared to a long gun in battle if the enemy are using rifles and in their battle gear. but there are times where it could be useful because it’s concealable. Sun Tzu says war is based on deception. Sometimes a Hugo Boss suit and tie is better camouflage than camo and a plate carrier, but there’s a time for that too.
For a SHTF pistol I always take into consideration cost, reliability, capacity, weight, recoil, practicality, weight of ammo, cost of ammo, availability of ammo (including when shelves are empty) and parts, how well you can shoot and use it, stopping power, easiness to use, concealability, and suitability for nighttime battle. Not the biggest hand cannon, or the most powerful caliber, or the fanciest gun to impress others. I once read an article about SHTF pistols and this guy had the S&W .500 magnum at the top of his list. A 500 Magnum is powerful but it’s cartoonishly huge, ammo is expensive, it’s heavy, and there’s only 5 shots. Even .45 ammo is heavy, think about if you had to be on the move, combined with an all-steel lower capacity gun but not to say there aren’t some advantages of the heavier frame. Seven rounds was a lot back then when infantry rifles were often 4,5,8,10 rounds.
I like the service pistols because they’re torture tested and battle proven by the military. My top sidearms are:
-Beretta M9 or 92FS 9mm
-Sig Sauer P226 9mm
-Smith Wesson M&P VTAC 9mm
-Kimber Custom TLE II or TLE II RG .45
-Heckler Koch HK45, USP, or Mark 23 .45
-Glock 21SF .45
Most of them have rail and night sights options, and are high capacity. All 9s and 45s because they’re common calibers, both are military calibers, and as standard ammo for interchangeability in the group.

My .02 on your questions.
10mm is an ‘esoteric’ round. It has lots of power and tends to ‘over-penetrate’. That’s not good in hostage standoffs or tight quarters. The round is extremely pricey and hard to locate. You are better off with a good quality .40S&W with BJHP HST rounds, basically the best you buy. Extreme expansion, retention and knock down power.

The .40 S&W bullet itself is basically the same as the 10mm, the shell casing is shortened and powder charge reduced. I used to use a 10mm Colt Delta Elite (1911 frame) and loved it but not the other negatives I mentioned.
.44 Magnum- Lots of power, recoil and knockdown coupled with availability of rounds. I would look into the Smith & Wesson Model 29 or Stainless 629 versions- both great .44 Mag wheel guns. Don’t worry about lower ammo count…that’s what speed loaders are for.
.45 ACP. My personal favorite for many reasons. Load a great quality 1911 frame with top of the line BJHP HST rounds and you will dropping sasquatches left and right.
The particular round I speak of penetrated ballistic gel to 13 inches (that’s a lot) and hits with a 230 gr BJHP that opens up over 1″in dia, while retaining all of it’s weight. Coming out the other side is very, very messy and large.

The best choice will depend on the circumstances,
Trying to evade and escape in a public chaos situation will sort dictate what defensive arm should be provided , where stealth is a concern a handgun would be the choice for conceal-ability a rifle would stand out and attract to much of the wrong attention. An alternative would be a AR15 ( 16″ barrel) platform disassembled in to two parts at the take pin it can fit in a very compact small pack the only drawback is no immediate use .
Depending on the speed required to evac and the circumstances I would choose a mid caliber handgun you are not going to engage an armed security team that would be suicidal , think last ditch defense to get you to the treeline , looking like eveyone else in this situation ( NO CAMMO! No web gear visible on a small pack (2500 CI or under) think light ammo good penetration no handgun is going to defeat body armor aim for the hips . .357 is probably the best choice you can also use .38 special in the same handgun the ammo is popular and available. The round is accurate and light and available in many platforms. The OSS in Europe used primarily hand guns and edged weapons for “Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap” behind the lines and just melted away into the populace. With a handgun you can also later get another more suitable arm from those that no longer require them. If stealth is required this is probably the best choice .
If it is a full out grinder firefight situation I would go all out , pack , web belt kit , plate carrier, MBR and as much ammo as needed ( perferable in a domestic caliber) stealth rules still apply , do not go looking for an engagement , fight only on your own terms.
You should at this point have a medium pack, sleeping/ shelter gear , plate carrier , provisions , water filters , etc and a battle belt suspender system or FLC set up with your 1st line gear . And a suitable MBR ( Main battle rifle , PTR91, M1A, AR 15 , ETC.) and are training to use them , you should be using the contents of your packs and shelter equipment to gain experience. Try a bushcraft weekend
Set up a concealed expediant camp ( tarp tent etc) use your gear and evaluate its effectiveness.
I am partial to KIFARU and Tactical Tailor products do not skimp on your gear get the best you can afford and USE IT before SHTF occurs.
Even if nothing occurs ( fat chance of that happening ) at least you have the satisfaction of learning and knowing how to survive in the worst circumstance and a greater appreciation of what you now have.

There has just been two precursor earthquakes on different spots on the Antarctic/Pacific Ridge. In the past both of these areas have lead to an earthquake of at least 6.5 within 15 days, most of them above 7. In 2005 one of these exact spots were hit and an 8.7 occur in northern Sumatra. Based on the previous precursor quakes, at least a 7 is coming and there is a good chance of an 8 or 9 pointer coming by June 15. The past 6 precursor earthquakes are all pointing to something much larger than most of the major earthquakes. The likelihood of such an earthquake(s) has gone up from 80-85% to 90-95% with these two latest quakes.
While a mammouth earthquake in another area of the world might not seem to affect the U.S. an earthquake like almost a hundred years ago in Toyko would be a calamity to the world stocks. A super mega quake in the Aleutian Islands, something like the Chile quake of 1960 that was a 9.5 would send large tsunami waves from Mexico to Alaska. California coastline from such a quake based on the contours of the coast could reach in the 30 foot range. Hawaii would be hit by waves that could get as high as 50 feet. The Aleutian Islands are one of about 5 areas in the world that an earthquake can be in the mid to even high 9 magnitude. Could be decades away, but it is overdue by previous tsunami destruction records.
6 precursor earthquakes saying larger this time are warning. One or two more of these and the chance will reach near 100% of a very large earthquake coming.
