Panic Buying Grips America Ahead Of World War III: “Never Seen It At These Levels… We Can Barely Keep Up” Says Leading Preparedness Distributor

As is often the case, most people wait until the last minute to prepare for the worst.

As reported by CBS Detroit, one Army Surplus store owner reports that preparedness equipment is flying off the shelves:

“We’ve been very busy. Unusually busy, I’d say,” Orr told WWJ’s Sandra McNeill. “It’s definitely an increase, just in selling all the normal prepper stuff, end of the world stuff. A lot of water prep stuff, food, MREs — the military meals.”

And there’s been a substantial increase in the sale of a particular item they don’t sell much of — a so-called radiation antidote called potassium iodide.

“It actually stops your thyroid from absorbing any radiation. So, it fills your thyroid with iodine, which it normally does anyways,” said Orr.

Another popular request: gas masks. But most people looking for those will be out of luck.

“Gas masks are a big thing too, but we only sell them as novelty,” said Orr.

Ed Thomas, a spokesperson for TopTierGearUSA.com, which distributes high-end protective equipment for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical emergencies, says that their web site has seen a 1200% spike in orders in the last week.

We’re barely keeping up with the inflow of orders and our staff is working double shifts just to get everything shipped. People are concerned with North Korea, World War III and what President Trump might do.

I’ve never seen it at these levels.

Everything… Anti radiation pills, gas masks, body suits and respiratory filters… people are trying to get their hands on these critical supplies in case this really happens.

Our biggest concern is that our manufacturers won’t be able to keep up with demand.

And it’s not just preparedness supplies. As Zero Hedge reports, bunker sales in California have skyrocket:

While a global nuclear confrontation is generally viewed as a bad thing, for Ron Hubbard, President of Atlas Survival Shelters in Los Angeles, it has resulted in an economic windfall.  Here’s more from The Sacramento Bee:

“It’s crazy, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Ron Hubbard, president of Atlas Survival Shelters, told Fox11. “It’s all over the country. I sold shelters today in North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, California.”

As we’ve reported previously, the situation has gotten so serious that the island nation of Guam, recently threatened for annihilation by North Korea, has issued a nuclear emergency guide warning residents to not look at the flash or fireball following a nuclear detonation.

President Trump announced Friday that the U.S. military is “locked and loaded,” ready to respond to North Korean aggression.

With panic buying taking hold, it’s only a matter of time before prices for items like gas masks anti-radiation pills go through the roof. Following the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan, panicked U.S. West coast residents pushed prices for a single package to $200 on auction sites. Under normal circumstances, a package of the FDA approved pills sells for about $20.

I think I’ll put an ad on craigslist to buy everyone’s emergency supplies next month. If you’re one of those buyers, you are not really serious. But hey I’ve been doing this a long time and it may be a cheap way to rotate my stock!!

I remember just before Y2K the generators were stacked to the roof on sale. A small sign beside them said “no returns after January 1st”. I waited for the flea markets and got three for the price of one after that non event.

There may be items I wish I had, and there may be items I’d like to get, BUT I’m good to go and I am completely at ease. Just this am my wife was asking if there was anything else we needed. Not that I know of.

Down at the Kroger they are having a sale on canning jars. Normally $14.99/dozen on wide mouth quarts. On sale for $7.99, and with a coupon from Sunday’s paper for $3 off I just saved $10!!

Sometimes people just baffle me. Why would someone ever buy those overpriced KI pills? If you are worried about exposure to radioactive iodine (meaning within fallout range), just make sure you have iodized salt on hand. Same effect without the exorbitant cost. And, if you never need it for a nuclear event, you can use it in your cooking! It has an indefinite shelf life too.

And you don’t really need any of these overly expensive prepping materials. All you need are common materials and common sense. You are better off buying a book about using natural, local materials to do day-to-day activities (like wash clothes) instead of these exotics.

      • Archivist

The iodine eventually goes away. The salt itself lasts forever, but not the iodine in it.

Anyway, I don’t believe you can eat enough iodized salt to replace iodine tablets.

        • flower child

Anon, To get the equivalent 130 mgs adult daily dose of potassium iodide (KI) that’s in the tablets, you’d need to choke on 5 cups of iodized salt per day.

Thats all fine and dandy but you will most likely survive unless your real close, so IMHO, better to have some supplies to read and mitigate hazards that can be dealt with, better that than being miserable for lack of a way to shield your thyroid, sure you could still die but more die from complications that could easily be avoided than that bright flash and 280000 degree wind

        • laeagle

          Nail,

In a nuclear disaster, it will be catastrophic beyond our collective experience. In a long term survival situation, the iodine pills are but small consolation but every little bit helps and may make a difference and tip the balance in your favor. Death is the conclusion of last resort!

          • CrackSummSkulls

You know radiation travels downward, so if you go into a mine shaft, it will fill up with radiation from an open shaft. Radiation fallout is like snow. snow on your roof, on the ground. Find the center of the structure if it is a 5 story building go to the 3rd floor, middle area and hunker down. Put as many walls between you and the outside as possible. Stay upwind from a blast zone. You have a wind age direction and wind speed meter. Right? You got that in your sniper kit right with all your ballistics charts. right?

Go to this site and look up your area on the map and find where the closest Nuke Plant is and the radiation it is emitting right now today as it updates every minute. Go to RadiationNetwork dot com Keep this handy link on your cell phone for mobility info, and the readings if the radiation levels are rising. Stay up wind. And move away from downwind of a nuke plant. Go 50+ Miles away at least. Keep a bottle of potassium iodide in every bug out bag and one in your vehicle along with your gas mask.

      • Heartless

For some reason reading all this, listening to the news, thinking…. reminds me of Roy Batty’s (Rutger Hauer) soliloquy in ‘Bladerunner’: “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.” Just seems appropriate.

According to experts, surviving nuclear was is a fairy tale… people DON’T survive nuclear war… read, “On the Beach”– the radiation travels on the wind and will eventually reach everyone. Consequence? You start vomiting, having diarrhea and then die…

A story I heard in college. A couple stoners were gonna make popcorn. One kid said he’d been collecting pot seed for a year. They sprinkled some into the hot oil and it started popping, when the popping stopped they looked and just saw cracked shells, but the oil had a green tinge. They dropped in a bunch more, the seeds all cracked and popped. The oil was filled with pot resins, they added popcorn, popped it, added butter and got stoned out their heads eating popcorn and feeding their munchies at the same time.

          • laeagle

            Nail,

We use to pop dried field corn in the hot ashes of a camp fire! We would take a handful of dried corn right off the cob and clear a little spot next to the fire, moving burning coal out of the way and to the side. We then threw the corn into the hot ashes and stirred the corn like with chopsticks. Soon the corn will start popping and you can pick them up and pop them into your mouth as you blow off any ashes. It is not for the ‘instant’ crowd but we enjoyed it and considered it a fun food.

Relik– you have a good point. However, things have changed. The nuclear bombs they have nowadays are THOUSANDS OF TIMES more deadly than the ones used on Japan.

Check out Paul Craig Roberts website on this subject (he was consultant for the defense department during Reagan’s term). (He quotes experts and gives references, of course).

We can survive an EMP explosion over our country– well, about 9/10 of us will be dead but SOME will survive) but nuclear war? FORGET IT, BABES… ITS ALL OVER.

          • Survivor727

It really depends on your definition of “nuclear war.” A tactical exchange is survivable while most strategic exchanges would not be. A general, global, thermonuclear war would probably destroy most of the life on this planet, not only because of blast, heat and fallout, but because of the ensuing nuclear winter, nuclear powerplant meltdowns, nuclear waste storage pools around the world boiling off and contaminating surrounding areas, chemical plant explosions and any number of toxic cataclysms that would be unleashed without man around to control them. I get a kick out of all of the people looking for “prepper bugout land” in Montana. Don’t get me wrong, I love Montana, but you can bet your bottom dollar that all of central Montana is targeted by China and Russia because of the Minuteman Fields there. In a first strike, Montana would be a giant area of glow in the dark glass.

I met a lot of people during the four years I was in Japan who were alive during WWII and were still alive in 2000. If “On the Beach” and similar novels had legitimate scientific basis, the radiation from Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have killed them.

It makes sense to prepare in a common sense sort of way for emergencies, but not to pay $600 for a gas mask. If you have ordinary food and water in the house (like a bunch of those gallon or 2 gallon jugs of water you pick up at the grocery store for a buck or two, and extra canned food that you eat normally anyway), that should do you. I do have some iodine tablets, which I got a couple of years back from about $12, and some duct tape and plastic sheets from the dollar store. The normal stuff people have around their homes (well, maybe not the iodine tablets, but everything else). The plastic sheeting you use for painting and dollar store duct tape works fine, you don’t need to let specialty emergency supply companies scare you into spending thousands of dollars on supplies just because they come in a bright orange bag with “emergency” printed on it. In fact, if you might have to run somewhere, you are much better off having your emergency stuff in an ordinary school backpack – who would you attack first if you were desperate for gear, the guy with a cammo backpack covered in molle straps, or the gal with the “hello Kitty” backpack – which would you think was a more useful target?

North Korea has 60 nukes at best and most are not on ICBMs or even thermonuclear. The actual amount of land area in the US that can be affected is relatively small so odds are that you would survive the initial blast and radiation. It takes a dose of 5 Sv or 500R in a short period of time to ensure death and you will not see that unless you are close to ground zero. Don’t believe me? Research the residents of Muslymovo, Russia that have lived with fairly high radiation for decades. The most likely cause of death would be starvation due to the collapse of the food supply.

      • X7734-0845

        Japan was “Kiloton”.

Modern day is “Megaton” (or more).

The difference is a much larger blast area, much more material uplifted in the blast, therefore more radiation in the “winds”, as well as the oceans.

It is survivable, but you need to be away from the jet streams, major ocean currents, or just be buried very deep for substantial amount of time..

        • Kevin2

A kiloton is 1000 ton equivalent of TNT
A megaton is 1 million tons equivalent of TNT

The order of magnitude is 1000 times. NK has yet to test a fusion (H) bomb. A fission bomb (A) is limited to 50KT. Fission bomb deployable is in the 20KT range due to size. Most deployed nuclear weapons in Us and Russian inventory are in the 100KT range as there are diminishing returns on size. For maximum effect they are air burst at 1000-2000 ft which enlarges its destruction radius but limits the radioactive fall out. Gamma rays at the instant of the explosion penetrate deep but immediately dissipate. The majority of the fall out has a few week half life. US troops were walking over the effected areas in Japan two months after the bombing.

Is America safe if the U.S. makes a preemptive nuclear strike? Dr. Paul Craig Robert’s says no-way and explains, “Even if every American city is spared retaliation, all the Americans would die too due to the radiation and due to the nuclear winter. . . . all of the temperate climates would have freezing temperatures every day of the year for three years. So, clearly there wouldn’t be any food grown. This is over and above whatever the radiation does to people

BELOW IS FROM “US has plans for preemptive nuclear attack” by Paul Craig Roberts– at before its news website…

“These weapons are so lethal that if just one percent of the inventory of the U.S. and Russia were used, the death toll would be at least 2 billion people. Also, if less than half of the inventory of either the U.S. or Russia were used, life would cease to exist on planet earth.” Dr. Roberts goes on to say, “I have been warning

      • Son of Liberty

        P. C. Roberts misses it by a mile. Multitudes will live through a nuclear war, only to die due to a lack of preparedness. No gas masks, Iodine tablets, bunker space, etc, etc, etc. We’ve been sold a bill of goods by those who are leftist liberal weenies. Many will survive, only to die because they have bought into the nonsense that no one will survive. Life will change, no doubt, but it IS survivable.

        Blessings,

        Son of Liberty

Nail banger, listen to the talk with Paul Craig Roberts on the Greg Hunter show (few years ago, its called, “Everything is about ready to collapse”). He says that just one bomb from Russia’s SS-18 would take out everything along the east coast from Boston to Atlanta, Georgia and one fighter jet has several of these bombs on it. The nuclear bombs nowadays are 17,000 times more deadly than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima!! 17,000 TIMES MORE DEADLY THAN WHAT WAS DROPPED OVER HIROSHIMA!!!

      • mike

Sounds like an Al Gore. We only have 10yrs left I do believe is what he said 20yrs ago. All this is like a fart in the wind it stinks a little while till something else blows in.

        • Anonymous

Funny and well said, mike, but unfortunately, you are spreading MISINFORMATION– i.e., you are ignorant.

    12. Ron Ahrens

But, but I thought the vice peddling pussy grabber was going to save New Babylon America, and there would be no need to prep anymore????

    13. TEST

Preparedness is a good thing for many reasons (safety for your family, personal respect, ability to help who can’t fend for themselves – e.g. retarded, babies, elderly – in a crisis, etc.)

But neglecting to prepare for not a maybe, but a certainty – viz., your death, is a major issue, it seems to me. After all, one is going to be dead a whoooooole lot longer than one is alive, even if you are Roy Kurzweil.

As Mark Twain once said, it’s not the things I don’t understand in the Bible that bother me, it’s the things I *do* understand.

If you’ve never cracked open your New Testament, might be a good time to do so, as you go about your other duties.

    14. Anonymous

In an old interview with Paul Craig Roberts (on Greg Hunter talk show) he says that Russian military technology is vastly superior to ours and that if just one bomb from a SS-18 could take out everything on the eaSt coast from Boston to Atlanta. Its over 17,000 times more powerful than what we dropped over Hiroshima.

      • Plan twice, prep once

Soviets built huge rockets with giant blockbuster hydrogen bombs with a fifty mile killing radius to compensate for inaccurate targeting. You could miss by twenty miles and still destroy your primary target.

Then they invented MIRV’s, multiple independently targeted reentry vehicles. That old giant rocket could now deliver a dozen small hydrogen bombs that could each more accurately hit a city each from Boston to Atlanta. It’s not the horror of one bomb destroying all that territory. If you were between targeted cities in reasonable cover and could stay sheltered for a week or two you could potentially survive.

        • Kevin2

Actually the US had the jump on the MIRV

“The first true MIRV design was the Minuteman III, introduced in 1970, which held three smaller W62 warheads of about 170 kilotons in place of the single 1.2 megaton W56 used in the earlier versions of this missile. “

anon one of my closet friends worked as an engineer at the NV test site for many years. a small war with Korea will not cause nuclear winter. It would take many hundreds of nukes to do this.
the few that would be used in this limited strike would just kill millions.

That said nuclear weapons are the stupidest things man ever invented. If we would have spent all those trillions of dollars on mankind, no one would want for food or clean water anywhere on this ball of rock.

as prepared as I can be…. hope I don’t need it.

I don’t believe a serpent tricked eve into eating an apple either. Why would she cover herself in fig leaves if an apple was eaten? I believe Satan tricked her into having sex with him and open the realm of good and evil to her. I believe the evil of today is that off spring. I believe the world is millions of years old at a minimum. I believe heaven is another diminsion not a place with gold streets. My four year old I believe isn’t walking down streets of gold but fishing at the right hand of my savior. See I’m not the majority yet I realize something far greater had to create the beautiful place we inhabit. If you would care to take the time and walk through nature I can’t see how you can’t agree in part with what I’m saying. I’m not a church goer never been a fitter in but I see the beauty all around me and I like you try to find the truth not so easily deceived.

After reading and observing in my almost 60 years of life I have figured out that I haven’t figured it out so I’m an agnostic. God is on everyones side, just ask them. Man has used religion to motivate very unholy acts. Christianity is dominate because the empires that had it in a very prostituted form, mainly Spain, converted millions at gun/sword point. The Islamics are still doing it. Assuming there is a heaven; Gandhi isn’t there because he was of the wrong religion and he therefore occupies hell next to Hitler? I have a disconnect.

I have a belt buckle from WWII. It says:

The H-414 is the fastest rated powder for both the 30.06 (with 150gr.) and the .243 (use it in both) in the lee book. Damn I wish I hadn’t bought all that 4000MR now…

First: We grow popcorn. Dried corn of other types will not pop, it will parch.
Second: Sagan’s “Nuclear Winter” article was totally debunked later. They used the worst case value for EVERY assumed variable.
Third: Not a single post mentioned radiation meters. This is an absolutely essential item. We’ve three digital ones, two RadAlerts, and many KFMs to share with neighbors. We keep a RadAlert and a 0-50 milliR/hr in each vehicle along with a compass (for determining wind direction and the direction to ground Zero).
Fourth: ain’t enough I in iodized salt to make any difference.
Fifth: go to http://www.ki4u.com and download Cresson Kearny’s “Nuclear War Survival Skills” (KFM instructions) and you will realize that PCR does not know diddly squat about nukes. We’ve copies of Glasstone’s “The Effects of Nuclear Weapons” published by the US Government, 1962 edition. Still in print. Buy one and you will know more than 99.9999% of folks.
Sixth: Yes, “On the Beach” was total BS. Only hardened targets (think sub pens and underground military bunkers) will get ground bursts. Optimal height air bursts will be used against every other target. They cause much more damage and generate minimal fallout. How many folks in Japan died from fallout? Zero.

    27. shane

Any nuke, regardless it’s source, can be made 90% less lethal quick as the affected populations learned beforehand what to do and not do from the first instant of the initial flash. Proof of it and the how to’s from ‘Physicians for Civil Defense’, google GoodNewsNuke

      • shane

Regarding surviving nukes, for most, whether they think they can or think they can’t, they’re right! That’s cause those who think they can’t, that it’s futile to even bother to see if there’s anything they could learn and do, they won’t and then they can’t.

      • Kevin2

Air occupies 13.8 ft3 lb. Water 62 lbs ft3. 4000 lb car = 65 cubic ft water. Now a 55 gallon drum should weigh maybe 10 lbs empty. It will displace 390 lbs of water. figure 12 of them under a raft of wood should work. Huckleberry Finn.

        • Traitor Hator

Ive seem a training film of guys driving a jeep on a tarp folding the tarp up the sides of the jeep just right , and carry it to the water. How big would an air bag be the equivalent to 12 drums? Could you put it under the truck and inflate it? Could you imagine being able to cross the Mississippi anywhere.

          • Kevin2

One gallon is 231 cubic inches so its:

            231 x 55 x 12
            ————– = 88 cubic ft
            1728

            • Traitor Hator

So 20 feet long ,5 feet wide ,1 foot thick. Or 10 feet long ,5 wide , 2 thick ? How to make a air bag? The first to cross the Mississippi? Ultimate off road . One of you rich guys can figure it out? And do it.? 5 feet would stay inside wheels ?.Deep mudder tread could provide propulsion? Fronts would provide some direction? Strong tarp with glued and sown seams . High volume air compressor. How many PSI nesesary. Hooks to front and rear bumper. Alternative? How many things were ounce believed impossible?

              • Kevin2

Thats the volume, personally I don’t see it working.

                1. The material must be very strong.
                2. Anyone taking a shot at it creates a leak due to the container being non rigid, you sink.

                Find a bridge

                OR

Make a raft with plastic BBLs.

                • Traitor Hator

15 by 4 ,1 1/2 to 2 feet thick. You drive in the water first to cool down exhaust. Then backout and roll bag under car . Put sheet of 1/4 inch plywood on top of bag were exhaust would hit . Inflate. Railroad bridge? Private barge? Do they make garages for house boats?

    32. Traitor Hator

Is it possible to rig a window shocker that plugs in the wall? Or will the fuse just blow? A roll of chicken wire ready to nail over your bottom floor Windows . People put all different locks on. But they will just break the glass and climb in.

      • Kevin2

Its called a bobby trap and its highly illegal. Even 110V can kill. Now an electric fence for animal control while not legal for said application (most likely) at least has a far lower probability of death.

        • Traitor Hator

Yes, One of those solar powered animal electric fences modified to do Windows? Or a plug in the wall voltage regulator? Is electric cost near zero?

I voted for him because he said that he would focus on “America First” and disengage from these foreign military actions. Hillary conversely was championing both Globalism and engaging in military confrontations. Now it appears that the differences between the two are in perception regarding these issues not substance.

Trump need to stop with his ‘words of war’ as far as the antagonizing. The NK crazy man is a psychopath and that is the worst way to handle them because they are very retaliatory. I wish he would stop with the tweets.

Well Kevin we all knew there wasn’t a viable political or ballot box fix. At best loose cannon Trump bought us some time. The thing is if we nuke north korea. Who else who has nukes are gonna let them fly. Its a pandoras box. Over the years ive had the same dream dozens of times. and there is a dark landscape. no noise no wind and everything is burnt. It seems that very few people these days plan ahead. Having been a fire marshal and teaching safety, for disasters etc, it was only a small percentage of a community that ever planned and prepared. That results in panic buying at every drop in the bucket of bad news. When a person live preparedness, as a life long issue as I have, a person is not as frightened, as those that did not prepare at all and arm jerk their prep items.

      • Nailbanger

One thing ive found is you really get a good idea of your true needs and what you really use when you have been doing this for a while, lots of stuff you thought you needed you dont, and lots of stuff you didnt really think about. For sure the most basic stuff is real important but even more i think will be knowing how to and having the means to produce more of what you need down the road. That to me is the most daunting part of it, some stuff is easy, well, easier anyway, but some stuff will be difficult, like soap, simple, basic, but does anyone really grasp the process to make soap and truly have the resources that will produce enough fat and the various other ingredients to make it? Even a simple thing like bacon, you might have a pig or be able to bag one, but to make bacon and hams or stuff like that, and to get them made before the whole damn thing spoils. If its freezing out, sure, no prob, but if like us the temps never go below the low 40s and thats for maybe 5 hours, normal temps in the 60s-80s, stuff goes bad quick.
Lots to it that most people have never even thought about.

        • Old Guy

Living off of stoared hoarded goods isn’t surviving . That is simply enduring. Being able to renew those good is necessary for long term survival.

        • grandee

so true- it’s the process of producing your own survival.

          do you produce or consume?

take solar-will you only be a consumer of batteries? or do you have the ability to use and retain solar heat w/o the batteries?

the ancients knew how to use the sun. knew how to build/plant to capture it’s life giving rays–w/o batteries!

something i’m learning at this late stage in the survival game.

simple gardening tactic: tomatoes love the heat. build up a north/south berm of earth, plant the tomatoes up against it. they thrive on the warmth of the dirt. this has worked for me for the past two years. this year was the best harvest of two heirloom types.

on a bigger scale, plant your fruit trees against a brick wall that captures the solar heat. prune tree to hug and spread out along the wall.

We use wood heat in the garage in winter. build yourself an ash hopper. make the lye. make the soap.

prepper consumerism is NOT the way to go.

as you said, “… even more i think will be knowing how to and having the means to produce more of what you need down the road.”

Im pretty skeptical about most fear porn stuff. its bad enough that the melting reactors in japan are poisioning the pacific and the west coast. I just seen footage of Trump way back in 1999 discussing what he would do about korea if he was president. Its pretty much the same as he is saying today. No matter who starts it or How it is presented as justifiable. Nuke way is a no win situation. everyone will lose. Only one fact bombs do win wars. If we are gonna bomb North korea. Lets use a Neutron bomb. It kills all organic life and leaves infrastructure intact. And don’t poison the air for decades. If I didn’t have any children or grandchildren I wouldn’t mind so much. But as it is Im very disappointed. Congress is in recess and trump is on vacation. Bet most of them are holed up at Mt Weather or under Cheyanne Mountan. We where warned. The georiga guidestones tell that they want to reduce the population of the planet.

Yet ANOTHER Republican *murdered* by the left this week:

Remember: H8TE, violence and oppression are bad… unless the leftist brownshirts do it. Then it is “understandable,” “justifiable,” and even “good.”

A Republican committeeman was executed by his rabid anti-Trump neighbor with two bullets to the head late Monday evening. Clayton Carter, 51, shot his neighbor G. Brooks Jennings twice in the head, murdering him on Jennings property in front of his wife. The murder took place in West Goshen, Chester County, Pennsylvania. http://freedomoutpost.com/gop-leader-executed-anti-trump-fanatic/

Of course, a few week ago was the attempted murder of Republican Rep. Steve Scalise by leftist James Hodgkinson, which is turn follows such lowlights as the burning of Berkeley, Dr Alison Stanger, professor at Middlebury College, VT., being hospitalized by leftists after she supported free speech, or those good ol’ leftist “Rape Melania” signs (nope, still no word from the feminists on that one)

    48. Bigbluedrew

This really boils down to what are we prepared to live with as a nation. A; We can ignore Kim’s rhetoric and about 3 years from now when he has developed an ICBM that can reach our shores, live with perpetual CREDIBLE threats and nuclear blackmail. By this time IRAN having watched our inaction and national cowardice will be ready to join the fray with there own blackmail and ceaseless demands,or option B: Grow a pair of balls, bite the bullet and destroy their capability while there is still time to do so in a manner that will not leave MILLIONS of our countrymen dead. This whole thing reminds me of the cowardice of many in power here during the 1930’s and there unwillingness to grow a spine and deal with Hitler. We waited until we were directly attacked to enter that war and over 100 million people died in it. We need to man up and accept what our founding fathers knew, freedom ain’t free, yeah I know America certainly isn’t what it was but it ain’t North Korea either. Fighting them will be bloody and costly but let’s face it head on NOW LIKE MEN instead of faggy pajama boys. The price of inaction will just be that much higher later.

      • Genius

You watch too much TV. When did Hitler attack us? We don’t have a missile defense system? Iran will attack us? Your pretty out there bud……

        • Bigbluedrew

Genius I watch the series Shooter and Cardinals baseball and that’s about it. On December 8th one day after Pearl Harbor Germany declared war on the United States. As for Iran attacking us I recall a little event in the 1970’s regarding our embassy I delieve, but that wasn’t an attack was it. Our missle defense system is still in development and it’s ability to shoot down an ICBM is sporadic at best, with numerous test failures. If your neighbor repeatedly says he plans to kill you and you see him in his back yard practicing daily with a rifle what would your response be, never mind I already know.

          • Warchild Dammit!

Big,perhaps if we (the US) didn’t kill the former leader of Iran and then supported a dictator like the shah we wouldn’t at least then had problems with them.We keep going into the mid-east,just stay the fuck out of that region and their business!

            • Bigbluedrew

All this nonsense in the Middle East is about oil and perpetuating the petrodollar. It IS in our national interest. Let the petrodollar crash and watch what happens to America. Insane system I agree but the ship has long sailed, can’t extracate ourselves at this point so the PTB have no choice but fight to maintain the status quo or lose everything.

    49. Plan twice, prep once

N95 dust masks stop 95% N 100 stop 100 %. Kelp tablets contain iodide for thyroid.

    52. Frank Thoughts

The irony is this: by far the biggest threat to Western countries is from out-of-control migration from Africa, and terrorism and social decay caused by radical Islam. Asians, on the other hand, are a civilizing and wealth-creating force in the world and should be partnered with, not threatened. North Korea may be backward compared to many 21st century countries but North Korea is several generations ahead of any African country. North Koreans are disciplined, can make things, can think, can run a peaceful, crime-free society. It would be wiser to just do business with them and cut the lectures on free markets and democracy. They will get there in time as they get wealthier. China is a much freer place today than it ever was; gays are free to live their lifestyle there.

The US military should be spending its time 24/7 kicking down doors in Western countries and snatching radical Muslims and illegal Africans, not wasting time and money posturing against Asians. If it really cared about preserving civilization, the US military would be fighting the forces of ignorance and laziness since those are the sources of social and economic decay.

Social (In)Security is insolvent in 5 short years. It will pay out more than it takes in. Did you
read the ZH article? $47 million dollar shortfall. Most people cannot wrap their heads around that. That is more than double the amount of the national debt which will never be paid down. If they can’t pay down the national debt one cent, how can they fix the Social
Security problem? Millions of people have no other safety net whatsoever. No IRA. No money in the bank, no pension. They are going to die. When you combine that with the
pension crisis in many states, we are a banana republic in no time. Most states will not change their constitutions regarding pension obligations, which means taxpayers are on the hook. That is why someone moves out of the State of Illinois every 5 minutes. If they
did print enough money to salvage it, a loaf of bread would cost $120 bucks. That is where
we are headed. If this Korea thing is not executed quickly when things get hot, the worlds
3rd and 7th(?) largest economies will be decimated. OR… OR…. maybe thats part of the
plan. You get 2 of the worlds largest economies reeling and on the ropes and that just may
benefit the economy of some other country. No? Of course, if China gets involved in this
conflict, all bets are off. Look for a Deep State false flag to make it look like NK fired a missile at Guam or Hawaii or Alaska. That would be the ploy for China to stay neutral which is what they claim they would do if NK throws the first punch. I think Trump is making deals
with the Deep State so he gets some of the things he wants and they get some of the things that they want. Hope he understands that in the end they will not live up to their end and he will be stabbed in the back which is what the Deep State always does. The Deep
State will get its massive war and Trump may well get nothing out of it. We shall see. If the
China-India thing turns into a big border war, China may not be able to commit to a 2 front
war (Korean) at the same time. That could be part of the strategy as well. Get a Sino-India
thing started so they would be too overextended to get involved with a NK-USA conflict.
The Somali’s seem to gravitate towards the State of Minnesota. They must have some kind
of We Are The World welcome mat hanging around the Twin Cities. They are also taking the
Somali’s in at St. Cloud and Rochester. If North Koreans ever got a true taste of capitalism,
they would bump off that little fat turd in a New York second.

    53. Brian

It is good to see someone is having a good time. Emergency preparedness entrepreneurs are doing well; more power to them! I have been reading “Grain Brain” which tells about the impact of glutens on your body in general and your brain in particular. Pity that more MREs and Freeze-dried entrees aren’t gluten=free. For health reasons in an SHTF situation, you should master the art of fermenting foods like cabbage. High in Ladctobacillus and vitamin c, sauerkraut is a good choice. Good luck!

    54. Mark Tinley

All this prepping for nothing. Wealth and stability are created out of thin air. They are never going to lose control of the system. Whatever happens is what they want to happen. Right now they just want to keep everyone in a state of fear and panic.

Why do you think nothing has happened since 2001, 2007, 2008, etc? “They” are always at the wheel friends. Barring a comet striking earth or the eruption of a super volcano, life will go on as usual. No collapse. No meltdown. No ww3. No anything. They are going to continue to tell you that all these bad things are just around the corner like they always have. People will continue buying wares and etc. What’s the fad now? Iodine? Whats it going to be next month? This has been going on in the same pattern for years. Nothing is going to happenn.

This is going to be a slow burn. Decades of decline till we reach third world status in every city and suburb. And nobody is going to stop it. Nobody. This is the plan. The few steal the wealth of the middle class until nothing is left. Put a quarter in yo ass cuz you just got played.

I’m far more interested in how useful PoC in Charlottesville think their preps are right now. What do they now wish they had available that they hadn’t thought to purchase? What items do they think are particularly useful? Are there any steps they intend to take now in light of what they have learned after the events of this weekend?
