More than 450 people in the state of Florida have been ordered to give up their guns by the state government. Under the new law signed by totalitarian governor Rick Scott, the Risk Protection Order aims to “temporarily” remove weapons from gun owners who have been deemed by a judge to possibly be a threat to themselves or others.
In the aftermath of the shooting in Parkland Florida, Governor Scott signed gun control bills into law just three weeks after 17 people were killed at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. According to Fox News, roughly 200 firearms have been confiscated in the state since the law was enacted. Sgt. Jason Schmittendorf, of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, told WFTS-TV, “Around 30,000 rounds of ammunition” were also stolen taken confiscated seized.
A five-person team in the county that’s worked solely on the risk protection law reportedly has filed 64 risk protection petitions in court. Broward County, according to the news outlet, has filed 88 risk protection petitions since March. “It’s a constitutional right to bear arms and when you are asking the court to deprive somebody of that right we need to make sure we are making good decisions, right decisions, and the circumstances warrant it,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told the station in defense of the task force. The problem, however, is that every single one of the petitions filed under the Risk Protection Order in Pinellas County has been granted by the judge, according to the report.
These demands to turn over morally acquired property even though there are no charges filed are nothing short of the tactics employed by the Nazis. “Obey the edicts of the government or else…” The Risk Protection Order does nothing but assume a person MIGHT commit a crime or MIGHT POSSIBLY be a danger to themselves. How is that any different than punishing people for thought crimes? American has just begun the slide down a slippery slope and until people begin to stand up and push back, guns will be taken out of the hands of the public. Florida began confiscating guns under the new law in April. The first gun seizure under the law occurred when Florida authorities stole an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle from an Army veteran. Jerron Smith’s gun was seized when he refused to surrender it voluntarily, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said at the time. The officers also seized a .22 caliber rifle he owned, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a bump stock, and numerous other weapon-related items.
In addition to confiscating guns, the Florida law also raised the age to buy a rifle to 21 and established a three-day waiting period on all gun purchases.

Kingfish, then answer to this question is something called DUE PROCESS OF LAW GUARANTEED UNDER THE BILL OF RIGHTS. It needs to be proven and verified that someone is and/or could be a threat to anyone else. And we also need to question what kind of criteria are the ‘authorities’ using to determine whether someone is at least a potential threat. In all of these cases these people were never charged with anything. If the ‘authorites’ can’t or won’t show a legitimate basis for what they want to do then they need to forget about doing it. You are reading the regulation that defines a weapon that is taxed under the National Firearms Act; also known as a Title II firearm or a Class III firearm.

I do not see how this can possibly be Constitutional. You cannot take something away from a citizen without Due Process. That means that both sides present their case before a judge. You cannot punish someone by taking away their Second Amendment rights because someone THINKS a person may do something. There is no way the Supreme Court would uphold this.
