“There was support for countries to supply new and heavier equipment to Ukraine, so that they can respond to these new threats from Russia,” British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said at a press briefing.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that the US is “looking across the board right now, not only at what we have provided … and whether there are additional systems that would make a difference.” The latest cutting-edge weaponry the Pentagon has transferred to Ukraine has included Switchblade drones, which are low-cost Kamikaze drones capable of destroying armored vehicles and tanks in the more advanced version of the system.

However, Blinken hasn’t specified which “heavier” weapons the US would be willing to send. So far any efforts to transfer jets or tanks have been met with inter-alliance resistance given it would likely put NATO and Russia on a more direct collision course. This as on Friday Slovakia announced it has “donated” an S-300 air defense system to Ukraine.

Weapon shipments have also so far included Javelin anti-tank and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles. But the Ukrainian government has persistently lobbied for more, often with emotional language – such as Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba’s appeal to NATO this week: “The more weapons we get and the sooner they arrive in Ukraine, the more human lives will be saved,” he said.

Ahead of the foreign ministers’ meeting, Kubela met with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, stating on Twitter that he had urged the “three most important things” for Ukrainians are “weapons, weapons, weapons.”

So far Brussels appears to have responded positively. the UK’s Truss has signaled that NATO is looking to go beyond the older Soviet-designed systems currently being given to Ukraine’s military. This after all is what its forces are trained on and are efficient in. “We agreed to help Ukrainian forces move from their Soviet-era equipment to NATO standard equipment, on a bilateral basis,” she said.

FM Kuleba has responded by saying he’s “cautiously optimistic” that NATO will meet the demands for more. “I was very specific about the requests and the timeline that they should be accommodated. I will be looking forward to the follow-up from allies,” he said.

So far Putin is looking like he new neither Russia or the Ukraine.

He’s in trouble now and needs to do something dramatic if he wants to save face and remain in power in Russia, and every day this war drags out without some significant victory the less likely he is to.

I just hope Biden has the sense to stay out of it (which is looking less likely by the day). It isn’t our war and we should not only stay out of it and are probably in no position to fight another war anyway.

      2. What is the logic, which hears that no NATO peacekeepers would be allowed, then equips the Yukes as NATO peacekeepers.

        (idgaf about Russia. Just asking.)

        • This is perfect logic when you’re carrying out the plan. I would do the same if I we’re them. On a more important note…. I have lost almost half of my indoor veggie plants due to using “jiffy peat pots”. The shit that’s supposed to degrade “netting” does not! It rootbound my plants and virtually killed them! The only ones that made it through were tomatoes, Kale, some peppers. I spent all fukkn day digging those net pots out and sterilizing the soil (you have to sterilize most all potting soil” in the oven at the rate of 1 hour per pot! “45 minutes at 270 then cool for 15 mins.:” What a drawn out pain in the ass! After all that I put the soil back in the bags and made 1.5×1.5 inch and 2 inches deep and filled with seed starting soil and coir. Replanted new seeds and hope this works. Roots will go directly into planting soil undisturbed. My growlights are making the good plants grow like crazy! Kale, lettuce, tomatoes, some peppers. I’ll let ya know how this turns out. (ps… my taters are kicking butt with the growlights!

          • You ever thought about adding pigweed to your food gardening plans? Probably one of the most nutritious and easy plants to grow and harvest for food, early production of greens and grain.

For that matter, if you don’t have land available, you may well find farmers that will let you harvest the crop that always seems to infest their fence lines in some areas, they usually just burn it off around here (the stuff’s pretty herbicide resistant).

(apologies for interrupting a political discussion to inject prepper stuff)

            • I have never heard of “pigweed”. But there are edible weeds around here. Too cold outside still for gardening. I made a raised bed garden in the backyard once but it was a hassle with all the weeds, bugs, etc. Besides it is a windy sob a lot of the time. And I am gone a lot in the summer too. I’m thinking about a greenhouse.

              • It’s not really a weed as such, it’s also known by the name of Amaranth, something that usually brings a pretty good price (under that name) in health food stores. Might be useful as a small cash or barter crop. You can find out a lot about using it for food and harvesting it on the internet, it grows well almost everywhere except the extreme north in the US.

      3. Stupid fools bringing total war on us all that are bought off in our government doing the bidding of even bigger fools that are of course globalist scumbags. They all need to die so we can continue to live our lives in relative peace. Oh please come unafraid out into rural America talking your shit and bring your security with you as these mercenary traitors need to take their medicine as well. We all have toys and training. Let’s see who has trained the hardest and is pissed off more.

        • They’re not stupid.

Theft’s why they are in charge and we’re not.

          • No they’re in charge through murder and fraud and lies and corruption and greed and every evil thing

            • IOW, everything we tolerate and usually ignore as long as they keep telling us what we want to hear.

        • Keep growing your FBI file, shithead.

      4. Nato code name “operation allied force” 1999 air strikes bombed hospitals & killed civilians etc in Yugoslavia March 24th to June 10. Eu-Germany & US-A & Nato “CON IS STILL ON”. MINSK AGREEMENT 2014 NOW KARMA-2022 A.D.

      5. I have followed this forum, off and on for years. I wonder if the old contributors such as deplorable renegade, Rellik, Kula farmer and others still visit here. By the way I see that Genius still stops by and I believe he is a solar guy. I may finally be ready to do solar with a battery system and sure could use some advice.

        • @skillet, Sure I will give you advice. Ask away. Do you live in Lick Skillet Kentucky? (a real place). Tell me what your plans are and what you want to power.

      6. Those tanks look older than the ones the russians are using. That cast armor is always effective except when the bird dung is pelican size. The US seems to have no idea how to fix this or they don’t want to fix this. I’ve never seen a more incompetent bunch, even under obama which is really getting down there. “Never underestimate how much Joe can f**k things up” as his old boss, now his new boss always said.

      7. NATO military equipment to Ukraine usually is destroyed by Russian missiles. Russians know where the collection points are in Ukraine. Military hardware is never delivered. Russian missiles have already destroyed 3 NATO equipment staging areas as well as killing NATO personnel.
