It’s Coming: “We Are Seeing a Very Material Slow-down Across the Economy”

Remember back in early 2008 when the Presidential election was in full swing and the majority of financial and political pundits were hailing the booming American economy, record home ownership and never ending growth?

By the end of the year everyone had changed their tune and the United States of America was, as former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said, “on the brink” of an unprecedented collapse.

When the stock exchanges turned, credit markets froze up and the U.S. was in the midst of its worst recessionary environment since the Great Depression the oft repeated phrase “nobody saw it coming” was being peddled by the mainstream on every front in an attempt to convince Americans that the crash simply came out of nowhere.

The following analysis from The Market Ticker is a blaring alarm.

This time no one can say we didn’t see it coming.

An interesting paradigm shift is happening here.

I monitor lead times and vendor fill requirements on a fairly regular basis, including from some big e-Commerce folks.

In the last couple of months I’ve noted a rather dramatic shortening of inventory lead times from them — that is, expectation that if you are a vendor you will be able to ship product to them much faster than before.

Some of these shortenings are really dramatic — 50% or more.  Amazon, in particular, is getting extremely aggressive in this regard.

This implies that the inventory drawdown we saw in 1Q GDP revisions is going to continue.

I believe we are seeing a very material slow-down across the economy in final demand.

Last week’s consumer income and spending report strongly suggested this to be the case, and the big retailers, including online retailers like Amazon, are highly attuned to this dynamic and have the data before the government does (since they’re the ones who collect it!)

If they’re making changes like this it is in response to market conditions; they do not want to get stuck with inventory they cannot move, whether their suppliers get paid up front or only on sale or not.  Reality is that product that sits is expensive to warehouse and manage while generating zero revenue; that is a direct assault on the top line of the business and that’s the worst place to take such a hit.

I don’t think 1Q is an aberration given these changes that I’m seeing across the board with various retailers and supply management.  I think it’s economy-wide and in the next quarter or two we’re going to see it show up in bright lights to caterwauls of but nobody saw it coming!

    Source: Karl Denninger, Market Ticker

    (Emphasis Added)

Essentially, what’s happening here is that business owners don’t want to risk ordering too much inventory all at once like they might do in a healthy economy. This can only be a direct result, as Denninger notes, of market conditions and fear of getting stuck holding inventory they can’t sell.

As was noted last month, the American consumer is strapped and their incomes can no longer support the consumption necessary to keep the economy growing. The latest inventory draw-down confirms this effect, as does the fact that major household retail brands are being absolutely pummeled according to their latest earnings reports.

The government has officially revised the first quarter economic growth numbers (GDP), confirming that the economy shrunk between January and March of this year. By mid summer we should receive confirmation of a second quarter of negative growth, officially taking the U.S. back into recession.

The wind is about to be taken out of the sails of this economy. It should become apparent to all those towing the recovery line in coming months, though they will likely tell us that no one could have known this was going to happen.

    We’ve been warned.

By the end of this year it should be crystal clear.

“The dollar is NOT going to collapse. Those who claim it will are insane.”

Hey Mac, I think DK is calling you out!

          • The American consumer has to be lined up with

a tree to see if they’re moving these days.

            • No no. you ae supposed to say in your best Gomer voice: “Well suprise, suprise”

            • The media may try to tell everyone everything is “fine” in the “economic recovery”. But, many can see that is NOT true.

              • When the economy is being propped up with two trillion monetized by money from no where from the Federal Reserve your in trouble.

                • Oh and simply put. Its called stimulus as the Treasuries fund the government which feeds directly into the economy.

                • You mean stocks and high end goods like violin swimming pools at million dollar homes are being propped up. High end antiques and the like.

I was thinking about going down to the local manufacturing plant and apply for one of them assembly line positions but I can’t afford the plane ride to China.

                  • China will be tanking soon enough. Be careful what you wish for. 🙁

                  • No I mean EBT cards and any expenditure Uncle Sam makes. Those Treasuries fund government.

The remaining money, roughly the same amount is going to the banks to both balance their books because of bad loans and is buying stocks which is legal for the banks to do post Glass-Steagall demise in 1999. This falsely inflates stock values going an appearance of a recovery but without the legs to support it.

                  • Balance the books? They are all broke. The money is going toward huge compensation and bonuses which is “propping” up the high end real estate market, the stock market, and any other hedonistic persuit the elite want. Meanwhile kids are starving in this country and the middle class is withering on the vine at a huge rate.

I understand Glass-Steagall and the ramifications. I understand bonds and how the government is funded. Too bad the bail out money is going for them million dollar homes meanwhile food stamps are getting cut. You can talk about free-loaders all you want. I know good, hard working American people that need food stamps because wages are not keeping pace in this country thanks to most favored trade status to China and the flood of immigrants. Yet the food stamp programs get cut and the bailouts roll on monthly. I don’t need an education, brother. All I have said is true.

              • Keep it up KY Mom.
                You’re The Greatest!

            • Cars sales jumped in May. June numbers will be interesting. Subtract the 100 million Americans not in the job market and you still have 230 million Americans who ARE working.

The in place inventory is 11 years old on average.

The car makers only need to sell 15 million cars a year to have a banner year and support the NWO economy. They are currently on track for over 16 million units.

While I agree that the end of the year may tell the tale, a good June could push consumer sentiment positive and keep this ship afloat until after elections or until Israel hits Iran: whichever comes first. 🙁

              • Hey DK I was thinking about your statement that the dollar wouldn’t collapse because of the NWO would use that as their currency. My theory is they need it to collapse so they could use bitcoin or something like that to control ALL transactions. They cant control all cash transactions. Just a theory

                • C&B: The dollar IS their currency. Bit coin is backed by absolutely nothing; not even the largest economy in the world or the most powerful military.

Bit Coin is a currency for speculators and fools.

The NWO GB will control ALL transactions when the dollar goes digital with quantum computing, just a few short years away. Think again. 🙂

                  • The US dollar is backed by nothing(technically speaking)and isn’t that what Bitcoin is is digital currency?

                  • C&B: The dollar IS their currency. Bit coin is backed by absolutely nothing; not even the largest economy in the world or the most powerful military.

Bit Coin is a currency for speculators and fools.

The NWO GB will control ALL transactions when the dollar goes digital with quantum computing, just a few short years away. Think again. 🙂

                  • C&B: The PTB GB have no control over Bit Coin. Why would they want to use it as the currency for their Club? Second, Bit Coin Exchanges are not safe, therefore it is not predictable.

The NWO must have a currency for their club that is safe and predictable (within limits) that they control. Internet (digital) banking will not be safe until quantum computing is the norm. 🙁

                  • the durango kidd says:

                    “Car sales jumped in May.”

[If] that’s true, [It’s] only because of central banking (Fed) manipulation of interest rates!

Without a near 0% interest rate, “Car sales” (and other sales) would be flat, and you know it!!

“Bit Coin is a currency for speculators and fools.

LOL… You once said the same thing about precious metals.

                    Pretence rules… right DK!!!

                  • Well I’m curious, since the USD has lost some 97% of its purchasing power after the inception of the Fed Res in 1913, how much lower can it go, really?

                  • YMWW: Yes its true. You can take that to the bank. And yes its because the FED has lowered the interest rate on car loans. That is what they are suppose to do to try to stimulate the economy for the 99%.

With respect to precious metals, I have always stated: “Invest in gold. Speculate with silver.”

Its in the archives. Again and again and again. Over and over and over again. Find it! 🙂

                  • Car sales jump every May, right after the tax refunds in April.

                  • Scott C: Purchasing power is relative. While the dollar declines in value for the proletariat, the number of dollars that flow to the capitalists increase, as they own the “means of production”, mitigating their loss of purchasing power.

When the PTB say, “eat cake” rather than bread, eat wheat grass instead, and sprouts. You will live a lot longer than them. 🙂

              • Curious, how many of the 230 million are children and seniors? or do children work and purchase new cars now?

                • loulou: I don’t know how many kids are in that number, but I do know that seniors in Arizona purchase lots of cars. Usually just before they retire, so that they have a dependable vehicle for their retirement years.

Even my dad, who worked two jobs all of his life for basically minimum wage, and had an eighth grade education himself, bought a new car when he retired. Boomers are retiring now in large numbers.

Just saying even if that number were reduced to one hundred and fifty million, it would only take 10% of the population of workers to meet that 15 million car number.

And eighteen year old’s living at home but have a job? What do they want most of all? 🙂

                  • And here is an oddity in terms of seniors: I have known many middle-class senior couples, when 1 out the 2 people is headed for a nursing home, they downward spend their savings so that it won’t get sucked down the drain by the extensive nursing home costs…and from what I understand, an allowable expense is the purchase of a new automobile.

                  • Anyone here know someone who has a new car?
                    Neighbor? Family? Friend?

                    Yeah. Me either.

                  • DK that’s because they killed off all the VETS in
                    Arizona

                  • 10,000 Boomers are retiring every day. I suspect a few of them are those who are buying cars. Don’t judge everyone by your bank account or those of your friends and neighbors. Birds of a feather flock together.

There are a lot of people out there with money, who earned it righteously and are spending it. 🙂

                  • sorry d kidd,

you lost all credibility when you randomly threw out a 330 million population of the USA number. More importantly, you didn’t bother to adjust for the young and elderly that aren’t even in the workforce.

Well, not in the real world. Maybe in your world there are toddlers punching keypads and kicking at items on assembly lines.

who knows where your head is, since you spew out many statistics and numbers that you expect people to accept as fact. I call bull shit.

The current population of the USA is currently, a little over 318 million. Lets just use a figure of 320 million to compensate for illegals and get us a little closer to your figure of 330 mil.

The facts are, that about 27% are under the age of 20; and about 13% are over the age of 65. That puts the more probable age groups in the “potential” workforce and brings the total of those to about 192 million. To be fair, lets say; of the under twenty and over 65 age group, 10% are available to work. Add that 1.28 million “potential” workforce to the 192 mil and we have about 193.28 million.

Now, subtract your figure of 100 million as “unemployed” and we are left with 93.28 million people employed or in the workforce.

A far cry from the 230 million “workforce” you used in your figures.

About 1.5 million of those are in the “military workforce.

Over 50 million have some form of disability. Who knows their ages and where they fit into this equation.

                    Just sayin’
                    PWTW

                  • pissinginthewind; Don’t dismiss that 13% over 65 and suggest that they are not buying cars. They are. A lot of those people have a lot of money because they worked during the boom years in America, saved, invested, and have retirement plans too.

Not all of them live in government assisted housing or survive on food stamps. 🙁

                  • Answer to Calgagus: Yes, I do actually. My 87-year-old next-door-neighbor who bought not one, but TWO absolutely brand-new vehicles the week before he put his wife in the nursing home..true story.

                • The Government will CRASH the Economy when they are good and ready, and use the excuse of another false flag like an attack like 911 or an EMP. You know the kind that erases all financial data, of how they bankrupted us before they Rob Fort Knox of all the Gold, and Print up Trillions in new currency. Remember on 9-11 when the section of the Pentagon accounting office was destroyed. Read this: Just one day before Sept 11 2001
                  CBS Reports Pentagon
                  Cannot Account for $2.3 Trillion
“‘According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions,’ Rumsfeld admitted. $2.3 trillion — that’s $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America.”
                  — CBS, 1/29/02
                  Dear friends,
One day before the 9/11 attacks, US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld made the above astonishing admission. Besides being reported months later in the CBS report given below, the quote is still posted at [expired] on the Department of Defense website. And on PBS at http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/military/jan-june01/dollars_2-12.html we learn that this figure came from a report of the Pentagon’s inspector general. “Its own auditors admit the military cannot account for 25 percent of what it spends,” reports CBS News Correspondent Vince Gonzales.
The timing of this admission just one day before 9/11 kept this story from even making the news at the time. Even when it was finally reported months later, this revelation received scant coverage…

                  • Durango’s religion is man and has great faith in them and their “honesty”. You guys aren’t going to change his mind. Even when the SHTF, he’ll find something else to blame it on (probably media fueled), like those who don’t have faith in men.

                  • Care Package: No my religion is not man. I believe in Jesus Christ and him crucified for my sins.

I have no faith in the GB’s or the Federal Government. I am just explaining to the folks here who do not understand what is really happening.

They get LSM Propaganda on one hand, Alt Media Fear Mongering on the other, and ignorance from a few Bloggers who have neither the education, experience, or special expertise necessary to understand even the BASIC mechanisms of the FED, spreading disinformation.

And car repos will jump in August.

                • Car repos……..

I worked as a “repo man” for a while. I was wanting to live dangerously. I got over it real quick.

Cars, cars and more cars. Cars, more specifically the inefficient combustion engines in them are the problem.

The more important problem with everything is the car manufacturers; The “big three”. They have squelched every thing that comes close to interfering with their greed.

                • DK and my little brother Chicken Little are off the reservation and off of their meds again! The sky is falling and that nebulous group the NWO will be around any day to fix it. REALLY??? I call B.S., again! The EU is squabbling over who they’re going to seat as their new chairman (President of the EU Commission) and how to regulate small Romanian farmers. This can’t be the seat of the NWO. Maybe it’s us, the U.S. but wait, the citizens of Connecticut, the bluest of the blue states and its neighbor, N.Y. , also blue, just told their state’s respective governments to go get screwed, they’re not registering the military style rifles, at least many of them. Let’s see, who could it be then this NWO. I’ve got it, it’s rootin tootin Putin and his resurrection of the old Soviet Union. Once he gets the Ukraine back the rest of the former republics will fall in line and the next thing you know, the old USSR is back! Yeah, that’s how it works and they will be the head of the NWO. But then they have to deal with the Chinese like they did back in the 40’s and 50’s, boy that’ll be a mess, again. So now I’m really confused, who exactly will run this NWO?

                  • Chicken Biggy: The sky may be falling for you, but I have been aware for more than 40 years and preparing for this day and this time, ever since. I’m ready. That’s why I am optimistic.

You could call it “wrong head” or “upside-down” dot blogspot dot com.

              • @ DK

Why don’t you start your own blog on economics and “Bible believing”?

For clarity, you could name it “upside-down” or “wrong” dot blogspot dot com.

                • You could do it as a joint venture with Barn Cat.

              • The Auto Industry is marketing hard right now to returning troops Thanking them for their service, and to come and get Good Ol’ American Debt Strapped with a Brand New Over Priced Vehicle with a patriotic twist that they deserve it. Terms: Only $350 a month for life, and it comes with a US Flag in the rear window. Yeeehaaaa!!! Damn I’ll take 2.

              • They are on track to produce 16 Million cars and park them somewhere and pretend they sold them. They are on track to use the Gov’s money to give anyone with a pulse a car. They are NOT on track to SELL 16 Million cars.

                • Paranoid; “All I know is what I read in the newspaper.” 🙂

                  • Paranoid: For sure, no one is buying Peugeot’s and those are the ones parked all around Europe and in Baltimore per the story at zero hedge.

Ford Chevy and Chrysler are selling, but one month is not a trend. We will see. 🙂

                  • DK said – “all I know is what read in the news paper.”

That’s why you say such foolish things ……. you don’t know the truth !!

                  • Quick: I was quoting a historical political pundit, which is why you didn’t get the joke. 🙂

                  • Ever hear of “Will Rogers?” No, I didn’t think so. 🙂

              • “Car Sales Jumped in May”

Whose car sales jumped? The dealers or the manufacturers? If you are saying the manufacturer then I would agree. Of course “selling” those cars only to be parked in a parking lot (Dealer) would be considered stuffing.

Check the “dealer” inventories to see how many cars are truly being sold. It is all a game until it is not.

              • last figures I saw were there were only 84 million working in what are considered real full time jobs. If 230 million were working then there would be no need for the trillion plus a year in funny money and the manipulating of the unemployment stats among others. You really get off on making things up. Must be the happy weed.

                • John W: That is true, but the major car manufacturers also sell many tens of thousands of cars to Avis, Enterprise, etc. They also sell to city, county, and state agencies, not to mention the federal government, or corporations. All purchases are not made by individuals. Expand your minds, my Peeps!

Who knew that car sales, or not, could be such a hot topic? LMAO!!! 🙂

              • BELGIUM TO THE RESCUE!!!!!!!

              • 230mm people working??? Geez the economy must be booming making all the children work. You forgot to subtract the non-working age citizens.

Cars sales are not calculated on sales to the consumer they are calculated on the shipment o the dealer. Dealers agree to allotments on a on thou basis, whether they sell cars or not. Car inventories are actually on an increase with lots full, and inventory lots busting at the seams.

Be careful using the manipulated auto industry numbers as a gauge of economic health

              • @ durango

Yous sir, are WRONG. Dead wrong. There are not 230 million people who are working; the actual number is closer to 145 million who are working, with over 90 million who are NOT working.

                See for yourself:

                http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html

                Population, 2012 estimate 313,873,685

                Persons under 18 years, percent, 2012 23.5%
Persons 65 years and over, percent definition and source info Persons 65 years and over, percent, 2012 13.7%

so, the number of people in America who are either under 18 or over 65 is 23.5 + 13.7 or 37.2% of the population

That means that the WORKING AGE POPULATION is 100 minus 37.2 or 62.8%

62.8% of 313,873,685 is (drumroll pleae)

                197,112,674 WORKING AGE AMERICANS

89,815,000 not in the labor force

divide 89,815,000 by 197,112,674 and you get 0.4556530951429333

                or about 46%

Yup, you read that right –> FORTY SIX PER CENT of working age Americans are not working

Now, you might want to quibble over this that or the other… and knowing you dk, I am sure that you will. That’s because apparently you don’t mind making a complete ass out of yourself.

You are entitled to have your own opinions; you are NOT entitled to have your own facts.

That being said, dk, go and finish your coloring book; grownups are talking

                • Son of Sam: If you bothered to read my posts you would know that a figure of 150 million workers WAS used as a ball park number for the number of people employed.

Also, you might want to consider the purchases of new cars buy all levels of government and corporations. A considerable number, no doubt.

The point of the comment was that while the economy is not turning around, ESPECIALLY for the folks here, is that the NWO does not need 100 million Americans at the bottom of the pyramid to support their NWO economy. 🙁

              • Ummm, sweetness and light, that would put the population of the US at 330 million. And not all of those 230 million hypothetical Americans are old enough to work. Stay in school, kids.

            • “THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ HAS SPOKEN!!!”

sounds of thunder and images of roaring flames…

-cut to Toto pulling back curtain to reveal old, frail short man trying to pull curtain back…

-Yeah the economy is ‘sound’ all right. The word ‘hollow’ certainly rings true here. Hollow is a sound, after all.

While the crevasse between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-not’s increases, take a good look at the latest ‘real’ market indicators, such as the totally fictitious and blundered ISM numbers posted the other day. Everyone KNOWS that are not even close to real, yet the stock market roars. Sounds like 1929 all over again to me!

7 In 10 Americans Believe The Crisis Is Not Over Or Worst Is Yet To Come: 52% Can’t Afford Their Homes
              (from ZeroHedge site)

For all the talk about a recovery, pundits, especially those who peddle expensive newsletters, continue to forget one key distinction of the New Normal: there are those for whom the recovery has never been stronger, well under 10% of the population, i.e., the already wealthy whose net worth is allocated in financial assets. And then there is everyone else, that vast majority of Americans, who not only have not benefited by the Fed’s relentless balance sheet expansion and accompanying asset reflation but whose incomes just posted the first decline in real terms since 2012.

It is this latter segment that should be concerned by a recent survey conducted by the MacArthur Foundation titled “How Housing Matters”.

According to the survey during the past three years, over half of all U.S. adults (52%) have had to make at least one sacrifice in order to cover their rent or mortgage. Such sacrifices included getting an additional job, deferring saving for retirement, cutting back on health care and healthy foods, running up credit card debt, or moving to a less safe neighborhood or one with worse schools.

              • gotta love Zerohedge…..lot of fun filled facts.

              • My 17 y/o just came In From the other room (he does not watch news, etc) and says to me ” how can they say the economy is better when we have over 17T in debt? I think we are still in the collapse of 2008!” I think he’s getting from osmosis hanging around me. The kid is sharp as a tac and I’m proud.

              • The stock market roars because the Fed is doing the buying then sticking us with the debt that was greated to do the buying. Good deal if you are one of the lucky. There is virtually no volume which is not the way things work in a real market. The stocks are being kept up so that the people who can cause Obama some real grief, the ultra rich are kept happy and quiet. As for the pee-ons the name says it all.

          • DK is correct or at least not in our lifetimes ….it’s already been 6 years since the dollar collapse bandwagon picked up steam !!!

            • Pastor warns ‘terminal generation’ to ‘be prepared’

Courson “expands on that warning in his first book, “The Terminal Generation.” Its basic message is: The world as we know it is about to change forever; be prepared.”

Courson “uses empirical, scientific and biblical analysis of current world events throughout the 222-page paperback. He does a verse-by-verse analysis of Revelation, and compares them to modern events.”

The “terminal generation” refers to “anyone 65 and under — the Baby Boomers, hippies, yuppies, Generation X, and the Millennials.”

“America as we know it is going to change…”

              http://www.commercial-news.com/local/x2117435464/Book-warns-people-to-be-prepared

            • what is “our lifetime?”
im 22. guarantee my future is filled with depression.

              • How about in the next five years or sooner based on economic and political events?

                • You idiots have been saying that the last 5 years , now’s it’s ANOTHER 5 ….HAHAHAHAHA

              • @ ridiculous

I feel for you. Seriously, I do.

The largest percentage of the USA population age group, is now…. you guessed it, 22 years old. The next highest is 23

It is depressing when you realize that the majority of them that vote have been “indoctrined”, by the educational system and political correctness, to the point that they are mostly liberal minded selfish children.

There is no hope for a strong country, when the idiotic and crooked politicians are supported by the masses.

The only hope you kids, or “young adults” for those like yourself, have; is to keep your heart right with your Maker.

With that faith and salvation, you will make it through what little time there is left in this cruel and diminishing world.

The revived world and Heaven that is to come is for eternity, and that is where your mind should be focused.

“IF” you stay focused on Jesus and His promises, there will be no depression in your life. None!

                PWTW

                • I believe you are mistaken. The geezer generation is and will be the largest group for the next ten or so years then they start doing the die off shuffle in large numbers.

                  • Nope, I don’t think so, John W.

If you read my words correctly, you would know I didn’t mean a generation of twenty-somethings.

The news last week was that there are “more” persons at the age of “22”, than any other one particular age group.

The 23 year olds make up the next most populace.

You are right about the ole geezer population/generation.
Baby Boomers retiring at the rate of 10,000 per day has got dibbs on the largest generation populace ever.

And, D Kidd is right about them buying a shit load of new cars. Most are like my Old Man. 78 years old and had everything paid for. Drawing a decent retirement. No wife or grandchildren to support. No body to run with anymore. Too old and stubborn to travel and enjoy life on his own, so…. what does he do?

He buys a new car to make himself feel good. Didn’t need it at all. He has three other vehicles already tagged and insured.

Says he feels better in his new ride when cruising WallyWorld and his trips to the Dr,’s offices and such. Heck he even quit paying his electric bill by mail so he gets to make a special trip to town each month, (about 16 miles round trip) just to “pay the light bill”.

I think it is stupid and sad all at the same time, but; hey, he worked over 45 years to have something to fall back on and enjoy retirement, so…. if he spends it all on the auto manufacturers and the oil companies, it’s his world.

There are many, many more just like him.

                • yea. i was just hoping to meet a girl who was like-minded. all the ladies i meet are miley cyrus following, thuggy, dirty sluts. its cool to sleep around now, unfortunately.
so people like myself will die off, no children. Goodbye USA.

            • You are right. Dollar collapse, what a Joke. After all, there are TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of this currency joke all over the planet.

What could possibly go wrong? And backed by the FULL FAITH AND CREDIT OF WHO?!?

            • Your point is? So instead of a collapse the debt will just keep increasing. Great strategy.

              • “My point” is unadulterated SARCASM!

          • YMWW
Are you that kid that likes to start trouble even when no one is around ? Get a life dude. At least DK contributes, your statement speaks volumes about you.

            • ridiculous says and all young under 25 yr olds: Young people need to learn a trade like my generation now retired, and keep a steady job. Installing, repairing stuff cannot be shipped overseas. Most my family were in the skilled trades. One had his own biz as electrical contr. There is no excuse for young people to not work or bum off their parents. Some of my generation had dropped out school at 15 and 16 and worked their whole lives in the trades and had houses and kids.

            • @Just_Sayin

Are you that kid that follows others without thinking for yourself?

Do you have any original thoughts of your own JS? If so, would you please expound them.

              I’m waiting…

          • YMWW: An economic collapse is NOT a currency collapse.

The article just repeats Tobin and Baumel, The fathers of modern inventory management, who developed the THEORY of “Just In Time Inventory Management” for supply chain distribution facilities.

If you really knew anything about Keynesian Economics, other than parroting an internet meme, you would know that. 🙂

            • that being said, durango, karl denninger is the SMARTEST patriot i’m aware of across the LOOTED plains of america(y’all should be READING what he has to say EVERY day). been reading him for around 7 years now, and if he says sumthin’….you better bet yer ASS he knows what he’s talkin’ ’bout…..haven’t heard back from you about that person that posed the question”how many of the 230 million are children”? seniors retired…disabled…i don’t know the correct number of working age americans that heve a job, but it’s VASTLY under 230 million….i would imagine it’s more like a hundered million LESS than that.

              • BCOD: Just saw your comment. I am not down playing Denninger’s analysis at all. I was just relaying where the strategy for distribution facilities inventory management (like Amazon) originated for the edification of YMMWW.

Check my response to loulou. If the number were reduced by 100 million (kids)as you suggest ….. it still leaves 170 million potential car buyers. One month (May) does not make a trend, but it is something to watch.

My point is that the NWO does not need 100 million Americans with their nose to the glass, on the outside looking in, to keep their economy afloat.

They have replaced these American consumers with Chinese, Indians, Indonesians, and others. 🙁

                • the durango kidd says:

“it still leaves 170 million potential car buyers.”

Only because of the Keynesian manipulation of interest rates!

                  It’s called a Debt Bubble!

Without fascist interventions in the economy, interest rates would be much, much higher, and auto sales would be in the tank.

If the Fed ever allows interest rates to seek level, (true market rates) the game is over!!!

Now you know why the DHS has purchased all those rounds of ammunition.

The “criminals” in short order are gonna need to protect themselves from the “people.”

                  • Its only a “debt bubble” for those without meaningful assets like you. Otherwise its leverage or an expense item if you own a company and can depreciation the asset.

                    Incorporate!!! 🙂

                  • the durango kidd says:

“Otherwise its leverage or an expense item if you own a company and can depreciation the asset.”

Without the fraud of central banking, the “leverage” of which you embrace would not be possible.

Without the fraud of central banking, this country would still resemble the republic it once was.

Gold-backed money curbs political criminals. It keeps the State in check!

BTW… you claim to know what my assets are. You are truly a presumptuous ass!

                  • Leverage is a fact of life that cuts both ways. I have never met a person in real life who had any money or assets, made it themselves, and didn’t understand the basic mechanisms of the FED. Never.

You don’t. It speaks VOLUMES to me about your financial condition. Have a good day. 🙂

                  • @durango kid. you said
“Leverage is a fact of life that cuts both ways. I have never met a person in real life who had any money or assets, made it themselves, and didn’t understand the basic mechanisms of the FED. Never.”
i think there are PLENTY of people that don’t know how the FED works….here’s a quote that sums up why i believe this……….. “the world will finally be right when the last politician is strangled with the entrails of the last banker”…..or sumthin’ like that

                  • sorry guys, that wasn’t the quote i was looking for, got sidetracked…what i meant to say was “if the people find out what the FED’s role is in the banking/monetary system, they will overthrow them overnight”

                  • BCOD: Well as least YMWW understands that the source of his angst is the FED, which is more than most American sheeple recognize as you pointed out. I will give him credit for that, but he hates “credit”.

If Americans really understood that QE has been a continuation of the Great Bank Bailout of 2008/2009, I believe that DC would be burning with Congress in session.

                    🙂

                • Where do you come up with this stuff? How are there 170 million car buyers in the US? They loaning to children now and the unemployed? You make no sense. Must be the Colorado weed. The majority of Chinese live at barely the poverty level and the day they cannot export there world crashes.

                  • John W: Obviously you have never talked to any Chinese over the Internet. 600 million are doing pretty good. That’s half. At least much better than they were so they are more optimistic than many on this thread; but don’t worry, China is on the edge of the precipice looking into the abyss.

Collapse is coming to China. Buckle up. 🙁

              • Don’t know if you’ll are aware of the chess moves being played by Obummer and Putin or not… but it don’t look good! ;(

The last move by Putin was to join forces with
China to eliminate/destroy the dollar and to engage in joint military exercises, in preparation of eminent NATO encroachement.

Now, Obummer has made his latest move. Basically, he is declaring war on Russia. Please see latest post at Paul Craig Roberts’ site called, “Are you Ready for Nuclear War?” (Please be sure to click on the references in the article also!!)

Also, please see RT news website– the article there is called, “Obama Pledges $1 bn for more Troops, Military Drills in E. Europe”.

Also, “US Plans ‘First Strike’ Nuclear Attack on Russia and China” (Its a “rush transcript” so not written too well, but has very important, detailed information on the crisis). You can get to this one by clicking on the article at Paul Craig Roberts site.

Also, at RT news website, an article titled, “US Plans ‘first strike’ On Russia (E40).

Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, forgive those who may have offended you and please pray.

                • “US Plans ‘First Strike’ Nuclear Attack on Russia and China”

That could possibly be the last mistake obummer ever makes…

                  • LETS HOPE SO- WISH PUTIN COULD DO PRECISON STRATEGIC ATTACK TO ONLY TAKE OUT ONE OBJECT AND LEAVE NO COLLATERAL DAMAGE- IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

Sooner or later, one of them will declare, “check mate” and when that occurs, I don’t think it will bode well for the American people.

                  • Anonymous, I know exactly what you mean…I even offered the exact coordinates once…

                • Two words: “Yellow journalism.” Having said that, every major power prepares a plan for a first strike and or response. Two words:

                  “war Games”. 🙁

                  • Anonymous, I know exactly which target you mean and it would go a helluva long way to solving our problems.

                  • Actually DK, you’re right. Every competent military already have their “what if” plans in place, even in peace time.

THIS country especially, since it seems to keep it’s nose up everybody else’s ass all the time and needs to be prepared for that first provoked strike.

In the context of this type of article, it IS being used to invoke fear and add to the already insurmountable hatred that is brewing in this country.

I call that one word: “propaganda”.

Of course, there will be a flurry of red thumbs, but the truth is apparently an acquired taste.

                  • sixpack; There is a lot of yellow journalism and fear mongering on Alt Media which is unfortunate; oftentimes making it no better than LSM for news.

I hope for better from Alt Media. They should not squander the opportunity to provide an ACCURATE voice as a substitute to the propaganda from the PTB.

There is enough BS from LSM that Alt Media sites could dissect and discredit; without discrediting themselves, like and as exampled by say, zero hedge. 🙂

                • has anyone read the Bible? Doesn’t it say that we will be killed by the brightness of his coming. Nuclear war doesn’t add up to that. I believe that we will all go the the tribulation.

                • When all is said and done you will find out that Obama and Putin have been engaged in a deception all the while. It is all kabuki theater to hide their real strategy of cooperating in the destruction of the US.

            • Any reduction in JIT would be a signal of a forecasted reduction in demand..?

              • DeezNutz: Yes. 🙂

            • What you state is partly true. While a economic collapse does not necessarily mean a currency collapse a currency collapse guarantees a economic collapse. You also must consider how sound is the currency. Most fiat currency is basically worthless unless you are the US which has the world reserve currency for now. What will probably save our dumb asses is the big increase in energy production due to the fracking boom which will decrease the need to float dollars.

          • “Thank you, Your Honor

May it please the Court, I got NEWS for the durango kid.

As you read this, dk, and ladies and gentlemen of http://www.shtfplan.com, the dollar is collaps-ING!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, how can dk ignore so MANY economic indicators?

Sanity by definition is something that is real, rational, provable.

Example: The sun is 93 million degrees hot. That’s “reality based”.

Another example: If I swim in the ocean and choose never return to shore, I will either be attacked by fatigue and drown, or, I will be attacked by a shark and die. That also is reality based.

Conversely, to think that you or I can fly (without the help of a plane or other apparatus) is NOT reality based.

Therefore, labeling people who believe the dollar is collapsing as “insane” has no basis in fact.

Thus, dk, the burden of proof is on YOU to prove TWO things: one, that we are INsane, and two, you must give evidence that the dollar is GAINING in value.

I respectfully suggest you can not meet either burden.

Your Honor, I rest my case.

            – the Lone Ranger

“Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.” – Clarence Darrow

“Mental health is an ongoing process of dedication to reality at all costs.”
            – Dr. M. Scott Peck, M.D.

            • Lone Ranger: The dollar is “collapsing” for you because you are the proletariat. Your income is static and your loss of purchasing power is real.

The capitalists (fascists) who run this country and own the means of production increase the number of dollars flowing to them, by taking them from you through inflation.

              Too bad. 🙁

          • I have a distant relative who remembers what happened in Germany after WW II , she told me that she had to take a bag of Cash for a bag of Potato , So as there will come challenges for our military around the world which is the only thing backing the Dollar, the world would realize that this paper is backed by nothing , until then happy shopping , but remember Paper catches Fire.

          • I’m not too savvy on economics so I don’t have all the trade speak to argue with DK. I’ll just say that I sincerely hope he’s correct but methinks he’s WAYY off base.

            • Dunk: The LSM is too optimistic. Alt media is too pessimistic. The truth is somewhere in the middle, but both sides are trying to sell you something by exaggerating the facts and showing their audience one side. Theirs. Its ALL propaganda.

Do YOU wanna buy my monthly newsletter??? 🙂

        • SGT. Dale just want to get this in. I continually hear people attacking Law Enforcement, Please don’t apologize for being a LEO, I’m as tough as the next guy and quite proficient with a weapon, but sure would hate to live in a society where there was no Law Enforcement. I give you a big Salute. Trekker Out.

          • Bergdahl’s Father Declares Muslim Victory — Obama Smiles as He Hears War Cry of Allah

Obama Smiles As Soon As Robert Bergdahl Praises Allah
            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBrp0VDUvjA

“While the Obama administration is proudly touting how it was able to free an American soldier who was “captured” by the Taliban, what no one picked is the fact that Obama SMILED as soon as he heard the most famous war cry of Islam, “bismillah al-rahman al-rahim,”

Arabic for “in the name of Allah the most gracious, the most merciful.” Watch Obama smile as soon as Bergdahl gives the most famous Muslim expression, the “Bismillah” or the “Basmallah”:

The “basmallah” is the Islamic expression for victory and only indicates that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s father is a Muslim.”
            http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/06/bowe-bergdahls-father-declares-muslim-victory-obama-smiles-hears-war-cry-allah/

            • I’ve to correct something you said. Basmallah is not the Islamic expression for victory. It means “in the name of God the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful.” Do you know what this means? It means that Allah or God is merciful to those who believe in Him and even to those who do not believe in Him.

              • SAM,

Thank you. I don’t speak Arabic.

The translation noted above is from the article.

                • But the clear connotation is: I’m a muslim.

              • Jehovah God is merciful to all. Allah not so much! Trekker Out.

              • Really? Someone better tell his followers about that as they kill all those who do not believe in him.

            • KY Mom, I just finished watching that video. I think the people who served with Bergdahl are speaking the truth.

              • the renegade braveheart,

I too believe the people who served with Bergdahl are speaking the truth.

              • After a closer look, it seems like just another link to the same info—sorry.

          • M.T.
            Yes it is picking up.
What I’m afraid of is some of the New guys/gals on the job will react to fast and someone that is a good guy will get shot, and killed.
Where I work in in a small town where everyone know each other. The Police are looked up to and, it has happened several time where I have needed help, and without saying anything there they were backing me up.
Larger Cities are really go to have a major problem it doesn’t stop very soon.
If you remember the 60’s and early 70’s Those days will look like a nice day in the park.
            I return your Salute!!!
            Sgt.

            • Sgt Dale, what America is experiencing with law enforcement today is the militarization of America’s police forces.

The new folks are being issued BDU clothing and armed with military like weaponry etc. They are being bombarded with training very much like combat troops receive and being hyped up on combating the “terrorist” in society scenario.

The mentality of the new police/sheriff/trooper is very concerning given the recent news reports of questionable shootings, adverse reactions to being filmed, etc.

America would be better off with the “Peace Officer” of yesteryear!

              • Cold War Relic, AMEN to your comments. There are still some of the ‘peace officer’ types out there, but their numbers are going down. the mentality that is being put into the minds of today’s local, county, and state cops is simply the mentality of federal LE which goes back to the creation of the US Marshals Service. I am equally concerned. I don’t trust anyone who accepts that ‘us vs. them’ propaganda as gospel without questioning it. If I’m ever confronted by that type, it won’t end well for somebody.

          • Trek,if all law enforcement was like sarge or at least the guy who comes across the site is real, things would be fine, know a few leo’s am actually friends with who hate the war on drugs/hate the swat team mentality and will side with the people things get tough. One quit the CHP because members in his area were found guilty of violating the drug laws for millions, now a deputy in middle of no where and likes it that way.A quick view of the sites availiable show a willingness by many in law to be basically thugs. The good leo’s need to break the wall of silence.I would be happy to help protect myself and neighbors and will if crime strikes and am around, that said, expect to be arrested and charged with a slew of crimes, face it,many in all facets of law enforcement hate competition

          • Since before the inception of the Declaration Of Independence until 1897, there was no police, no standing army until 1870, and nary a whisper of judicial recourse (read prosecutors, district attorneys, or appointed judges,) for crimes against the “People” (Referring to a corporate charter) until 1906. Once the corporate elite supplanted “Common Law” with “Rule of Law” the slope has eroded over the road since.

Current law enforcement is a thin veiled disguise for corporate thugs to fuck with free men. I for one can do without them, they are 100% reactionary with ALL crimes that matter – rape, murder, assault, battery, theft.

They are all over speeding tickets / red light cameras, (NOT RECKLESS DRIVING), code enforcement, taxation, BATFE, child rearing, and quashing personal liberties that offer financial gain for the government at the expense of the citizens.

So what are they there for again? To serve and protect themselves (New Mexico ring a bell) and wealthy elite asshats that keep burying us “Little People” in more shit as we struggle to dig ourselves out….

            • Just look at the fines imposed for minor infractions. Three hundred bucks for car pool lane violations, four hundred for going five miles over the limit. It goes on. These used to be twenty five and fifty dollar fines. Just where do they think the average working stiff will get several hundred dollars for a nothing violation?

              • Quite right John W, yet another clear example of Prosecutorial Malace directed at people over minor “crimes”. (which the corporate laws applicable to such are constitutionally not enforceable anyway, but ignored by the judiciary system entirely) and to which there is no victim. (Which means no real crime committed in the first place)

It used to be that to establish a crime had been committed, a circuit judge would be REQUIRED to establish there was a victim (person or persons) before charges were filed. (What arraignment used to be for) Under current law, (Which I hate to call the bull crap we find ourselves faced with,) no longer requires a victim be a person, but can be a government agency, a corporation, or a foreign national – all of which DO NOT meet the basis of a victim as applied to common law, (Constitution) but have been recognized under Corporate Law. (Since 1906)

Real change could be had by dropping any law that fails to establish a LEGITIMATE victim, and revocation of judicial power from the municipalities to a system of circulating judges as was used before 1906….. sigh, that’s a dream for the ages.

        • If a cannibal eats a man from China, will he be hungry one hour later???

          • EPPE
            one word. YES!
            Thanks I needed a laugh.
At least this time I didn’t spit pop or food on the computer.
            Sgt.

            • eppe

              He might suffer from indo-gestion……

          • EPPE, that reminds me of my last encounter at the chinese restaurant. i said i want an order of “FLIED LICE”, she fired back at me, “that’s FRIED RICE, you PLICK!”

            • Thanks for the good laugh!

              • and what’s with those damn fortune cookies , anyway? i ALWAYS get the same damn one…”you will soon be hungry AGAIN”.

          • Eppe, I would be surprised if the cannibal is still alive after eating someone “made in China”.

          • oh great,
eppe, now we are outsourcing our jokes

            • I guess it would be better than getting a fortune cookie that said “THAT WAS NOT CHICKEN”….

          • Try eating a German, you’ll be hungry for power.

          • eppe,
Don’t know about that but they avoid eating clowns since they taste funny.

        • It is G.W.’s fault along with every other douche-bag puppet that has been in government since the early 1900’s. Unjam your head from your hind-quarters…there is a two party system…Party #1 = the owners of the country. Party #2 = the slaves. Guess which one you are.

        • So next week I’m having a nice day in the hotel room with a new gal.
          Why?
She cannot find a guy with a good job who is not a scumbag.

          Any questions?

          Love this collapse.
          Such opportunity.

The real reason to go to college… all the tail you get.

There’s a lesson for you kids.

          So there’s a prep.
The black book I’m building of bug out locations with hot women there.

          Now that’s a prep.

          Hey, mac.

Don’t delete this.. It’s real life shit.

      2. Anybody that’s not blind and paying attention has seen it coming for awhile. a lot of empty store fronts, nobody in existing stores, empty restaurants and millions on unemployment. DUH!

        • Various Riots are occurring around the globe. I saw a “mainstream” story on TV that showed one and despite its “coverage”, never even hinted as to why it may be happening.

Food shortages and currency crisis’ are hitting the smaller countries first. Just a matter of time before it’s our turn. The cracks are there for everyone to see, (for those that want to see).

This household won’t be surprised at all at the stats by the end of the year. Only surprise may be what they will then throw out of the inflation index to show all is normal..

        • @ Jim in Va. –

You’re correct in your observations. People are, for the most part, out of money and fast approaching their credit limits. Many have already ‘bottomed-out’.

Technology and the corporate greed of ‘outsourcing’ has killed any skilled manufacturing/factory/foundry/mill or machining operations in the United States. Bye, bye Ms. American Pie along with the once prosperous middle class of the United States.

At some point our goobermint has to start taking in more than they spend and begin paying down the debt that WE already owe. This isn’t going to happen. What happens next isn’t pretty. I wonder what will happen when the Chinese try to ‘repo’ Hawaii?

We certainly DO live in ‘interesting-times’!

Seriously boys & girls, life is much more interesting than anything on reality TV. You are going to get a front-row, right up close and personal seat to see the greatest events in the history of humanity show for free.

          • Oh, the show won’t be free…we’ll all pay.

          • Shortly Mexico will be repo-ing the Southwest. Lets see the US get over that. Rumor is that Obama wants to give Alaska back to the Russians which is strange since we bought it from a willing seller.

        • I second that….each year when we visit our old place in VA, we look to see how much has changed…lots more empty storefronts, more equal housing apts. I’m so glad we left when we did!

          • I’ve been eligible for govt subsidized “affordable” housing, since I first became disabled. It would be much cheaper than what I’ve got now, about $99 a month, according to my income.

But I’d rather live in a tent than get stuck in one of those welfare complexes, stacked on top of hundreds of gimme dats—what a nightmare. Cold chills run down my spine just thinking about it.

      3. End of the world alarms are starting to sound like the boy who cried wolf. Just prep thats all you can do. Dont get caught up in the never-ending hype. This is more hype.

        • EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • If you are prepared, some of the best prep purchases can be had while Nero fiddles.

        • i disagree, s/g…..y’all effen well BETTER pay attention to all these “HYPE” stories!

          • BTW…some good deals in so cal (high desert) right now if yer willing to buy in bulk. food-for-less has 20lbs rice for 6.99….macaroni 25cents a lb…p-nut butter 1.49(skippy) you gotta buy 5 at food-4-less
el super has folgers instant coffee 8oz 2.99
albertsons SOLID white tuna 5oz can 88cents(i know….radiation)…there’s a BIG difference between solid and chunk tuna, you know…pay attention next time you open the two side by side
we lookin’ at STAGFLATION(when the things you WANT go down in price, and the things you NEED go UP in price!)

            • Sounds like several manufacturers are fixing to down-size the quantities in the packages, again. I’ve noticed that when things go on major sale, say, macaroni and cheese for example, we get new packaging shortly after. The price often goes waaaayyyy up as well.

Usually, the words “New and Improved” comes with less of it in the box, fewer ingredients, or cheaper substitutes for some of those ingredients. Tuna will have more water, but less tuna in the can, and it might be the same with other canned goods.

Nalley’s chili has been one of my favorite measuring sticks.

I realized the chili shortage, when I opened a lost can I found on the back of the shelf from 3 years ago. It was about 1 1/4 inch from the top without the liquid. The last can I bought last month was down to about 1 3/4 inches (2/3 of the can) now, with about 1 1/2 inches of some kind of liquid on top.

Just reach back and pull one of your older cans or boxes out and compare it with the “new and improved” ones, and you’ll actually be able to see the subtle changes.

              • Hidden Inflation… Too many of those .03 dollar bills floating around so costs increase.

              • like half gallon icecream tuning into 1.75 or even 1.5 quarts!

      4. Tick tock tick tock
Another day another 400# of kale,
        Peace

        • 400# of Kale? Don’t they sell Roundup on Kula? Yuck

          • Kale Chips are one of our favorites! I’d take some from you Kula.

Our local lumber yard hardly stocks lumber anymore. Just the basics and that’s it. Wouldn’t want to get stuck with to many 2x’s.

            • There’s a large commercial lumber yard riverside ca I’ve dealt with for years. And for years I didn’t know there was buildings behind it, they had units stacked up so high. Except for the last couple of years. When the economy is down so is lumber inventory and it’s pretty damn accurate. Consequently, that yard is pretty dog gone flat right now.
Remember the good ol days back in the 80s and 90s?
New homes, new cars and trucks, lots of toys, boats, jet skies, eating out at high end restaurants. If you weren’t knocking down over a hundred K per household, you were loafing around.
But! Those days are long gone. It looks like (I’ll leave it up to as to whom) somebody wants the middle working class kicked down a station or two, down to a level of poor, wanting and beholden. We’ll support you, educate your kids, house you, supply your medical needs, feed you.
Just keep voting for where your support is coming from. Pitiful!
I’m tired and about fed up with this shit!

              • Im with you,
                Fed up with this shit!
                Who is John Gault!

                • I’m John G.
                  And you could be too.

              • You spoke right from my heart.

            • Kale chips are grinds!!!
              5# Green curled kale
              4 cups cashews
              2 cups sunflower seeds
              1 red bell pepper
              2 cups dietary yeast flakes
              Lemon juice
Strip stems from kale leaves, rinse and set aside

Add all other ingredients to food processor with chopper blade,
When fine texture add lemon juice till mixture is a nice paste,
              Spin kale leaves dry
Mix kale with paste mixture and massage it in real good,
Spread leaves in a dehydrator and dry!
              Enjoy!!!
Should fit in a 9 tray excalibur
Is brittle so best to store in a big plastic container not a bag.

              Kale slough

              3-5# kale
Blanch then remove stems and cut up, rinse well and spin as dry as possible. Refrigerate
              Dressing
              1-1/4 cups mayo
              1/3 cup sugar
              1/4 cup cider vinegar
              1/4 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp chipotle, cayan, paparika mixture
              1/4 tsp black pepper
              Salt to taste

Combine all ingredients in a ball jar, shake, refrigerate.

Place as much of blanched kale as you want to eat in a bowl and toss with some of the dressing mix, enough to coat kale liberally, enjoy!

I keep the dressing in the refer for up to a week unless i devour it all within the first day or so, can add grated carrots or beets or whatever to the mix, is almost all good!

              • Thanks Kula

We make one almost like the first. They hardly last the day. I’ll try the other one soon.

                • Yep, addicting, have eaten almost a whole batch between my sweety and i while taking it out of the dehydrator!
That got chuckles for weeks between us

              • I have to ask, what do you mean by “spin dry”?

                • Salad spinner, i have a big one for high volume greens rinse work, works best, but i also use my little home kitchen salad spinner too, if it isnt dry enough the dressing doesnt stick, and it also doesnt keep as long in the chill

                  • Thanks Kula, I’m gonna go check on one. I had no idea there was such a thing. I pictured in my mind, something like in a lab, spinning vials around and around…

                  • 3 red thumbs because I didn’t know and asked about something?

                    sheesh.

        • I grow a lot of Premium Kale for the fall. Nothing better than with a piece of bacon or some fatback in the pot while its cooking down.

          • I make a mean cream of kale soup,,
Is a nice light green color but is deeeelicious!

            • We make “Swamp Soup” with it. Very tasty!!

            • Kf, I’d be mighty interested in learnin’ that recipe!

              • Ill dig it out and post it on another thread
Is really quite simple though, basicly cook down some bacon, as much as you like, sautee onions and garlic with bacon when bacon is cooked,
Clean the kale remove stems and chop it up, can use the stems too but need to chop them finely because they end up stringy otherwise, add it to bacon onion garlic mixture and cook it down, add salt and pepper, add chicken stock, puree mixture in food processor or blender, immersion blender works good, make a rue and add it, add heavy cream, let simmer for a few hours, or not,
I sorta wing it with this one, never came out bad other than one time when i used way too much kale, was too green,

          • You know how to eat brother….mmmmmyum!

          • That’s how I remember making collard greens…better than spinach.

      5. Here in Lake Havasu… Plywood is what is selling…
Only new signs on buildings are ..No Trespassing …
Office space has set unoccupied for years..
        Retailers parking lots empty..

The Govt. Numbers will be completely fake..
Just like the three time revision to -1% GDP.. Likely MUCH lower
And unemployment at 6.. Really.. Here more like 60%..
Expect “robust growth”.. “Green shoots” and ” shovel ready ” talk.. ( we can’t handle the truth)
We are ALL in BIG trouble…
Anyone who believes ANYTHING Oblabla says, should use their second amendment remedys

ON themselves… Eyes wide shut…God bless all my thinking brothers and sisters..

      6. Things were slow in retail in my neck of the woods this past weekend. Weather was great, but only few in the stores and those that were out were lethargic and zombie-like. Very erie feeling being out and about Sat and Sun.

        • took the kids to see the new disney movie and went 20 mins early, thinking it’s so popular we might not get a seat….drove in the parking lot and it was nearly EMPTY!…got into the movie and realized nearly everyone in the parking lot was there to see the movie WE were seeing.

      7. See what coming?

      8. Sorry but I do not see any slow down in Texas. Sam’s, Costco, and HEB (Large grocery chain in Texas) are always packed. Restaurants are full. Thousands of people moving to Texas every week which is not good for us Texans. Homes are selling above asking price in less than a month.
It’s inflation that worries me. Food prices are crazy. Our electricity, water, and taxes are rising but nothing is slowing down here.

        • That’s what I’m seeing here too. I was at Sam’s club this past weekend and it was wall to wall people. Carts and buggies filled to the brim. Restaurants are full and even the malls are packed as usual. I’m in NC.

        • I’m in Texas. And you’re right. One of the few states that are holding their own. DFW has Bell Helicopter and Lockheed. Hard to suffer with those two big defense contractors.

Plus Texas has a pretty friendly business environment. Which many businesses have taken advantage of.

Top 5 if not top 3 states to be in. Texas is.

          • Your oil and natural gas don’t hurt none either.

        • yep. I live in Central Texas and work for HEB and we are setting sales records every week. BUT the market manager told us last week the pork ribs are about to go from 2.97 to 7.97 a pound. go figure.

          • Wow!!…better get working on my “SOO-EE” call, especially since the DNR keeps flapping their traps regarding exotic porkers roaming the woods. SOO-EE, SOO-EE!!!

        • Things are indeed great in Texas. Over the last few months, I’ve made several long (1100 miles round trip) trips to east Texas in search of “farmland”. The only obvious sign I see is a whole lot more foot traffic across town, but otherwise, business seems really good along the I20, I30, and I27 corridors. Haven’t been down to I10 / I35 south since last year.

          • yes, but will you have water in Texas? Dry as a bone in some places, I hear.

            • yup, WATER will be the MOST important thing to have! but even MORE important will be guns and ammo to protect it with…..but even more important that that will be a community to help with the security, but even more important tha that will be FOOD……awwwwww SHIT!….we really ARE screwed, aint we!

              • If we can work together, not so much.

              • Anyone truly know the conditions of the Produce Growing regions of California. I know Cal. has a drought but whats happening with the Produce. Trekker Out.

                • got my feelers out to a friend that drives through there often trekker…ask the question again in a new story and i will have an answer for you.

                  • i aint gonna get no help from HIM. he’s got his head burried in the sand and insists everything’s fine,,,,no REAL drought. i told him to google pictures of lake shasta, which has almost NO water left in it. can’t talk to SOME people.

        • There is a shortage of housing, but people just don’t qualify for a mortgage, or have enough for a down payment. Banks are Not lending and 50% of all house sales are purchased with 100% cash. Then on the other side 58% of current homeowners are struggling to make their payments and at least 31% of Homes in Florida in the first quarter of 2014 upside down on their mortgages, and owe more than they are worth. However I have a Brand NEW $459K house going up next door. As soon as that sucker is built, I am putting my house up for sale. lol

A new report by RealtyTrac says that 31 percent of homes in Florida were seriously underwater in the first quarter of the year. That means the combined loans amount secured by the property is at least 25 percent higher than the property’s estimated market value.

While some homeowners with negative equity continue to live in their homes and make payments, others are either delinquent or in foreclosure.

At 15 percent, Florida continues to lead the country in the percentage of distressed properties, indicating that while the problem has declined it continues to dog the state.

Florida had the highest number of completed foreclosures over 12 months ending February and the highest rate of serious delinquencies, defined as loans 90 days or more past due, according to CoreLogic, a data compilation and processing company.

CoreLogic estimates that the Sunshine State’s foreclosure inventory as a percentage of all mortgaged homes is 6 percent, which though the second highest in the nation, is a 3.9 percent drop since last February. The foreclosure inventory represents the number and share of mortgaged homes that have been placed into foreclosure.

          • and THAT is precisely why prices of homes will DROP very SOON,…..drastic reductions coming to a theatre near YOU,….and SOON! i’ve said it here before and i’ll say it again….1980 prices before it’s all over with….the math says so….aint she a BITCH, that MATH?

            • Apparently, if she’s common core, she is whatever you want her to be…

        • Our economy here in Hawaii is the same, it appears real strong, lots of tourist, and people everywhere, but it is slower than in the past, construction is down if not almost non existent, restaurants close all the time, the tourism numbers were good, a bit higher than last year, but the amount they spent was down in the teens percentage wise, there are more homeless, and more people on assistance than ever before. So it depends where you look and who you talk to.

      9. Remain calm, all is well 🙂

        ALL IS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      10. Sorta off topic a bit but here is a new Prepping program that will be starting on Thursday evenings. I’ll give it a try.

        http://www.thesportsmanchannel.com/shows/america-unplugged/

        little info:
Hosted by former Navy Seal Cade Courtley, America Unplugged is a new series that takes viewers on a cross-country journey to meet the folks that are unplugging from society. Each of the eight episodes provides a riveting look at the excitement and danger of living off the grid. The terrain, wildlife, and food sources are as varied as the people who choose this lifestyle. But they are all motivated by the same thing; they want to live free, as they pursue their own version of the American Dream.

        • Probably wont be long before we hear of these people being arrested. Wanting “to live free, as they pursue their own version of the American Dream.” is akin to domestic terrorist these days.
          YOU WILL SUBMIT.
Hmmmm… Little known fact, the English translation of islam is… wait for it… wait for it… SUBMIT
          Hmmm….

        • What’s happened to New Ordnance. He must be busy planting corn. Trekker Out.

      11. I can vouch for the observation. I’m too financially illeterate to vouch for the conclusion.

We are getting hit hard, exactly like this, where I work. It’s been going on for almost a year now.

      12. There are two Americas. One struggles to get by and the other is rolling in money. A terrific view of it can be had in the Naples Florida area. Several gated communities of McMansions are being built right now and as a crow flies five miles away or less people live in leaking trailers and even campers and mow the lawns of those in the gated communities.

The latter greatly outnumber the former.

          • With 1 In 3 Homes Unaffordable, Freddie Mac Prepares To Enter The Trailer Home Loan Market

“I can’t say this is surprising. After all, with average peasants, I mean citizens, now priced out of the domestic housing market (Zillow recently showed 1 in 3 homes are unaffordable) due to billionaire financiers and foreign oligarchs buying up all real estate in cash purchases, American serfs now will find out where the “elites” think they belong. In trailer homes, naturally.”

“As is generally the case in the USSA these days, crony capitalist oligarchs have perfectly positioned themselves to benefit financially from the final transition of Americans to neo-feudalism.

Recall that in my post from last October titled, Carlyle Group’s Latest Investment … Trailer Parks, it was noted that trailer park owners share the following attractive quality:

Our customers have no alternative shot at homeownership, nor do they [normally] even have the credit scores and quality to seek anything better …

They never leave the park they are in, and the revenues are unbelievably stable as a result.”

            Zerohedge

        • Yeah in Naples FL in the Late 90’s they were building 7000 Sq Ft homes in gated communities, and these were the 2nd or 3rd vacation homes for the well heeled. Wait when SHTF and these homes become a free for all for anyone who can defend them. lol

      13. I don’t think the DOW can stay up much longer. Not that it represents the actual economy. More like cheerleaders at a football game.

In this case. No amount of cheerleading is going to get the team to score. In fact, the team is so far behind. The cheerleaders are about to give up.

What does this mean? The DOW is about to tank and many of the sheeple will finally realize we preppers were right all along.

        • I have been thinking this for 2 years now. Still floating around 16k. I can’t make sense of any of this shit anymore. Just going to do my thing and not stress over it. Bank some money while I can. Buy some hard items that will last while I can. Get my shit in order while I can. Who knows, maybe the US can sustain this shit for 10 more years and another 10 trillion $ in debt.

          • You do know what’s happening don’t you? FRB “prints” new money in their database. The “money” is created by strapping debt onto the federal government. Goes up like $1T/yr despite your party affiliation. Then the “money” is loaned/leveraged into the stock market. It really is surprising the market has not gone up more. That is what ought to scare people. With $1T plus in “money” creation per year: where in the HELL is all that going?

            • That is the beauty of it all. It really is going primarily to the bankers as they are being bought out of their mortgage securities. The US pays the banks and banker industries for there loans and then they sit in the corner off the hook and rich as hell. The taxpayers continue to accumulate the debt. All of the sudden you get the headlines of the present. The rich are getting richer and the poor poorer. Wealth gaps galore. At the same time the government continues to take control of every important aspect of our lives. EPA=water control, USDA/BLM=land control, food control, NSA=all things previously private. Shaping up more and more like the hunger games movies. The underclass scrapes by for the crumbs and the wealthy elite ruling class go golfing and are idolized by the masses/underlings. Fuck all those people the watch/support things like the Kardashians, the NFL, HGTV, etc. that are treating us like the imbeciles that we behave like.

              • Gonetoolong says:

                BINGO!

            • With $1T plus in “money” creation per year: where in the HELL is all that going?

Just one ignorant man’s opinion but I think I know why it is not worse. What we think of as money is not really money- it is a book-keeping convenience for keeping track of debt. “Money” went out with hard currency in precious metals. A lot of the “wealth” of the last few decades was basically just commercial I.O.U.s, mortgages, etc. which were accepted as “money” because they were expected to be payed off to the note holder. When it became obvious that bad debts were not going to be payed back, they were recognized as worthless. All of a sudden a LOT of “wealth” that people were already spending was seen to be not really there but the economy had already incorporated it into every part of life. Now we are “creating” more imaginary wealth to take the place of what we know was not really there in the first place but is counted-on anyway.
The trick is to balance the evaporating imaginary wealth with the new creation of more imaginary wealth behind a different curtain and hope nobody points out the Emperor has no clothes before the switch is completed and all bribes are in place.(Sorry for the scrambled literary references- “scrambled” seems to be contagious.) If luck is running high, one worthless debt will take the place of another and all will even out. Back in the real world- keep your eyes open and your head down.

          • I hope it will last at least 2 yrs. so I can cash in on CD’s sitting in the credit union. But if I lose the money, then I will still have what I’ve stashed (goods, not money). Small piece of land, good water – start homesteading in survival mode.

            • it wont last two years you better be doing what you can do now, lots of stuff coming down later in the year

          • Don’t bank it. Keep a few thousand in cash and put the rest into physical gold and silver. There’s a good chance we’ll see a false flag cyber attack where all of our money is stolen from our bank accounts or there will be bailins. I keep as little cash in the bank as possible.

      14. It will all come crashing down prior to the election. I hope it doesn’t, but we might as well get it over with.

        • We still have a long, hot summer to get through. In my area, certain businesses are still holding their own and others are slowly failing. In one section of town alone, 50-80% of the retail space is empty along with their parking lots. Confederate, I also believe it can come crashing before the elections. Everyone just keep prepping and get all you can before the crash takes place.

          • The main source of empty store buildings in my area is the building of newer and bigger stores. For example, we have a fairly new super Wal-Mart. The old building has been empty ever since they moved out. Lowe’s built a new store. Only half of the old building is occupied. Food Lion built a new store. The old one has been empty ever since. A Mexican restaurant built a new building. The old one is still empty, and will probably stay empty until it falls down because it looks like a Mexican restaurant. It might be good to have a rule that says when you build a new location, you have to demolish the old location and sell the property clean and ready for new construction. In the town I used to live in, Lowe’s moved twice, so there were two empty buildings that weren’t good for much else.

        • not going to happen, obama needs smoke and mirrors to keep the senate. if the gop takes the senate, they might actually grow a pair; as long as reid is there to stop anything that obama doesnt want; the socialization of the usa can continue.

i’m targeting this time in 2015. obamacare will continue to make all things worse, the fed will have stopped printing money and obama’s executive order to cut CO2 at coal plants will start affecting the whole country; i expect a serious recession then.

then, in 2016; the start the show up all over again with more money printing, freebies and govt jobs to usher in hillary.

        • The real turd sandwich will happen after the elections when the dems could the house too. You can bet thats the only reason they haven’t pushed gun control again this year.

        Go Seattle!!!

        • Seattle will rue the day they passed a $15 minimum wage.

      18. All good and well in Texas. Long lines at stores, waiting times at restaurants etc. the oil boom in south Texas is still booming, too many folks now over night oil millionaires, many new expensive cars on the roads, no end in sight, solid residential with increasing values…what is there to worry about?

        • Well I wish some of these people here would move where you guys are. Every line is packed, drive throughs the longest I’ve ever seen, and the grocery store….. don’t get me started on that. Everytime I go there I almost want to start knock’n peoples blocks off. Lucky I have religion.

They are building houses in my neighborhood as fast as they can and everyone sells for the asking price if not more. Guess it depends where your at.

      19. Well forgive me for pulling a “Rich 99” but the big one almost happened in ’08, close to six years ago and we’re still sputtering along. I think we’re gonna Grandpa shuffle along for a quite a few more years. Or…..until the bosses tell KingKoon its time for the closing act.

          • i think those are both right.

we’re going to keep the ball rolling a while, but the next downturn is going to be worse than 2008 becuase the govt and most people did nothing to fix any problems, govt and personal debt is high or higher and incomes and revenues havent increased to be able to handle it.

      20. We are in a small town in Minnesota. There is a real slow down here.

Example: The local High School kids started a food pantry in the school to feed those who don’t have anything to eat at home.

Example: Our local Target and WalMart stores are in the process of getting rid od a large number of products. Like they used to carry 5 types of mustard, now they carry 2.

Example: The multinational medical device company that my DW works for has had a hiring freeze put into place.

A lot of people prepping, a lot of families turning their summer cabins into year round retreats, a lot of people living the Minneapolis are for the countryside.

        • Honestly, the folks who are centered around government-funded anything are doing extremely well financially. The folks who aren’t – aren’t…no government teat to suck from. I am enjoying my semi-deserted town.

        • Hey ES,

Small town MN boy here too. Somewhere around Willmar.

Ag sector doing okay now, but falling commodity prices don’t make the future look good.

Don’t see many people prepping, but most out here live that way to start with, so it is tough to see the difference. Wages are low, but there are some jobs around, for now…..

          What does IOWA stand for?

      21. leaving Minneapolis/ not living

        • Its interesting because nearly the opposite in NC. In this major town, only people not working are the ones on welfare. Of course, I know many 40-something and 50-something who make $10/hr. They’ll lose their houses soon enough. But, at the same time, huge companies here pay $30/hr (1099/corp-to-corp) for programmers and testers in India; so, must be they can’t find people in the USA. What’s more, they pay $72/hr for the onshore H1 visa workers. Must be they really cannot find Americans who know how to test software or to do computer programming.

          • I’d love to see some of those $30/hr. jobs here in NC. I might go back to work for something rich like that, at least for little while. Tech jobs here in my town start at $12/hr. If those high paying companies can’t find workers, maybe they ought to advertise.

          • They can find Americans to do the jobs they just aint tryin to…federal and corporate policy has been geared in favor of third world peoples for decades now…it favors the outsider over the native sons because the outsiders know nothing of freedom or questioning authority and are used to living like dogs so theyre ready made little slaves…change the rules back to favor the native sons and youll see a big change in a short time…wont happen as long as globalists are calling the shots!

            • Best comment of the day!

        • Inflation is misunderstood by the public who somehow believe that is a naturally occurring economic event and hence unavoidable unless of course evil businesses did not raise prices and greedy labor did not want higher wages. The main stream media is as silent today as it was in the 1970s as to its cause.

In the end for working people its death by 1000 cuts. Its a slow bleeding as opposed to hyper inflation which is a fatal hemorrhage.

If Obama can get away with all his crap. Imagine what Hillary will do.

        • Very valid point of view IMO. I say lets vote all Dems and let them crash this mother fucker once and for all. I don’t give a shit who gets “elected”, we will end up in the same shit heap. I feel we might as well allow a true libturd drive the car into the ditch rather than a RINO lie to us about how he will make everything alright. We can get the shit moving forward and get it over with. I will either vote Hillary or not vote at all if I have to choose a RINO such as JEB or KrispyKreme Christy. I refuse to vote for the less stinky son of bitch anymore.

Since it is a regional health, education and shopping hub for rural areas in a 100 mile radius, it seems to be doing better than ever.
Water, or lack of it, is the problem in my part of Texas.

Good luck, you’ll need it.

        • I know have said it many times to the point of “ad naseam”but remember, even on small budget the smalls add up,10 bucks gets a big bag of rice/lighters/some basic even minor first aid stuff.I and no one knows when things will go south man made or natural but till then even on limited budget can prepare some.I would also check sites like CL for free stuff like camping gear/packs ect.,may not be the best but tis better then nothing, yard sales can be at times a great source of good items at good prices. My point is you can do it,if you are here reading this site you at least are starting to accept that things can get ugly very quickly, every little bit of goods and knowledge you store might make the difference between surviving or not, though would be nice we all can’t afford million dollar underground bunkers set up for a decade of living(and living large!),that said,we all can do our best to be ready, and thus will end with(give me credit, have not said in awhile),”live for today, prepare for tommorow.

A small strip mall has 5 store front with three of them are empty. We had 4 gas stations and now we only have 3.
The bars are empty hours before closing time.
I have stopped writing tickets and started just giving warnings, because the folks I stop, I know that they are not working. I don’t want to add to their misery. (I will only give them two strikes, the third is our out.)

      34. A local food bank has built a major warehouse to acquire food from the supermarkets cast offs. The other food banks are having trouble maintaining food bank levels. We have the highest foreclosure rate in the state. I do see more store fronts empty.

      35. No more time frames on the economy, this has been a failure for years now. One thing you can look for with the closing in on an economic collapse is everyone should start to see much more international tension building with the U.S. instigating all of this or uses some proxy to do it.

The economy is tied hand and hand in the excuse to use an international crisis to draw all attention away from the demise of the U.S. dollar and the debt. The closer it is to this fall out the more intense some false falg or real event is going to be. War is the number one bet. Then some viral outbreak or mass terrorist attack would be the next in line. I kind of think that the government is still going to try a gun grab and this would be some sort of terrorist attack using legally obtained firearms. This way the anti-gunners can attempt to scare the ignorant public that the 2nd Amendment was at fault, not the terrorists that actually committed the crime. Even a false flag type of cyber attack that they blame on North Korea or Iran so this gives them the pretext to attack a country.

Watch the false flags really start blowing in the wind as the economy goes further towards the edge. This I would use as one of the indications rather than some time line.

      36. Since 2008 this economy has been a plummeting Drip Drip Drip Chinese Water Torture. You can cut expenses to the bone, prep for the worst, and find some roommates. 30% of of Adults from 25 to 35 yrs old are living with their patents. Unemployment for those 18 to 25 is over 10%. How do those people pay off student loans? Nothing like be a lifetime debt slave to big banks. Those people who have it made in America, are the Seniors retired over 62 who raped this country dry. Got Full Medicare, Social Security, Full Pensions, Own their Homes, and then they have the gall to tell us we need to learn how to save money. Anyone less than about 55 Yrs old is screwed Big Time.

        • Are you a lifetime debt slave to big banks for student loans? Who’s choice was that? Was it the fault of senior citizens? Do you really believe the average senior citizen raped our country dry? I thought it was President Clinton that raped the social security program. There are a large number of citizens over the age of 62 who are a financial disaster. Sometimes life dealt them bitter blows, as in medical crises. Sometimes they were their own worst enemy. I have watched people waste, squander good chances, in all age groups. I do believe I have the gall to tell you that you do need to learn to save money. You need to learn how to turn a nickel into a dime. I understand how it feels to have the elites refer to us as the unwashed masses. I understand what it feels like to come home from a low paying job, get a short rest, then start a home project. Standing on a ladder pumping on a chinking gun, putting chinking between house logs for hours on end in the burning sun is not fun. Staining house logs for hours on end is not fun either. Nor do I particularly like laying floor tiles or large sheets of linoleum where you have air bubbles that take forever to push out. Countertop tile laying is probably my favorite, but still takes time. It takes time to go to various recycle stores to find compatible tiles. Many of the bright spots in my life come from the many bargains I find. I think of the idiots willing to pay full price for everything. Those in the age group above 62 can have a lot of great things going for them if they choose to listen to a different drummer. Those in the age group of 55 and below can also hear the same drummer if they choose.

      37. This is a couple of paragraphs from the article; “Why the world can’t bring itself to destroy smallpox once and for all”, from the web site VOX, on June 2, 2014.

        ——————————————————–
        3) Smallpox could survive in dead bodies

Ramses V, a pharaoh who had smallpox. Getty Images

Huge disclaimer: the risk for this one seems to be very low, according to experts, but it’s too intriguing to not share. Smallpox, as far as viruses go, survives fairly well in dead tissue. And many people have been killed by smallpox — at least hundreds of millions of them.

Researchers have already found dead smallpox virus particles and DNA in bodies as old as ancient Egyptian pharaoh Ramses V, although they haven’t found any live viruses. No one knows exactly how long smallpox can survive under these kinds of conditions.

One could consider the lack of live viruses unearthed so far as evidence that this scenario is unlikely. But in recent years, as this Nature piece reported, when an old smallpox scab turned up or workers uncovered a 19th century mummy of a smallpox victim, the CDC comes in to investigate using security precautions, just in case.

        5) We could always recreate smallpox from genetic information

One could argue that in the information and genetics age, nothing really dies forever. It just dies until the technology to resurrect it appears. And for smallpox, that time is now.

USING ITS GENETIC SEQUENCE, PEOPLE COULD MAKE SMALLPOX FROM SCRATCH TODAY

The complete DNA sequences of roughly 50 smallpox samples are available to the general public. This means that people could make smallpox in the lab. “Someone could if they wished recreate live virus from scratch just from that public information,” Grant McFadden says. He’s a virologist at the University of Florida who doesn’t work with live smallpox but has advised the WHO on smallpox research.

A sophisticated laboratory could resurrect smallpox right now. And at some point in the near future, anyone could. And if that is the case, then what would destroying the samples in these two labs in the US and Russia really accomplish? We might be able to destroy smallpox next year, but we won’t be able to destroy it forever.
        ——————————————————-

Why did I bring in up? Because something like this could be the next false flag. I have thought for a long time that dead bodies could be a reservior for smallpox, especially in the graves in the American west because of the very dry conditions. This would be nature at work. Notice how the CDC comes in to check out things just in case when a smallpox victim for many decades or centuries ago is unearthed.

In other words something like this could be the next distraction from the economic collapse coming. Or it could just be taking advantage of a real natural plague that develops because of the utter filth that so many people live in countries that have no sanitation.

        • I got the smallpox shot as a kid…maybe it will offset the cancer-causing Simian-40 virus they gave me with my polio shot. As they say, “a prize in every package.”

      38. I think the economy started declining at a faster rate this year. I’m not sure when that started but I’m definitely noticing it now with my online business. I’ve had to keep fewer copies of items because sales are slowing. I don’t want to get stuck with stuff or have it lose value while I hold it.

        • I’m rootin’ fer ya REB.

Doin’ some gardening and plan to put up another 100 qts. of green beans. We are just finishing up the last of the 2010 jars.

Some of, or i should say, most of the people I talk to say they don’t really like green beans that much. It’s mainly because they have never eaten green beans that are cooked right.

Here is the best way I’ve found.

Drain 1 qt. of canned green beans.
          dump in pot
Add three tablespoons of olive oil, also(a small piece, about
enough for a biscuit, of country ham
will make a huge differance in flavor) its optional.
Add one teaspoon of sea salt or kosher (more or less depending
          on taste and diet restrictions)
Add one and a half of beef bullion cubes Wylers is the best
Add enough distilled or well water(Not city water, please) to cover beans.
Cook until tender but not mushy. Black pepper to taste.

Enjoy with fresh baked cornbread, potatoes, and a slice of tomato and cucumber. Umm Ummm good.

        • You are doin’ all the good REB.

      40. i wonder how many of your family members, children, grand children are going to die or suffer as a war torn cripple for the rest of their lives soon because the amerikan traitor b.o. and his globalist oligarchy super friends wants a war with russia and china to cover up their crimes and greed.

        maybe it will be you.

      41. They revised the 1Q lower so they can show a small uptick in 2Q. That way they can avoid the 2 quarters in a row stigma. Just games. A shell game of under which cup hides the truth? with these guys, there is no truth. We’re being conned.

        • It’s all fake and the propaganda will continue even after the crash. The 2009 recovery is just an illusion!

      42. The only thing keeping global economies going is global money printing and propaganda!!! It’s all an illusion but sooner or later producers can’t keep producing what they can’t sell. I think we are approaching that point now. Cars aren’t selling, homes aren’t selling, brand name consumables are absolutely collapsing. Just look at the beef section at your local grocery store. At my Publics and Win Dixie the beef section has shrunk by at least 3 feet and chicken and turkey are now the dominant meats. Consumers are waking up to the smaller weights in a big package even though most of us noticed this 5 years ago.

Here is something that’s not an illusion: the Canik 55 TP9, 9mm semi auto. $319.. comes with 2 18 round mags, adjustable sites, sepra style holster and cleaning kit. Fantastic value!! Now if I could just find a good deal on ammo.

Get ready, when people get hungry they get crazy and stupid. That includes friends and family folks.

        Good luck to all.

      43. Important article. Only caveat, though, is I read articles like this every month. One day something will happen, and it may even be soon. But we don’t know, and can’t know, so it’s best to diversify, including gold and silver while they have knocked it down for political reasons at the moment. If someone knows of an infallible market timer or timing method, let me know!

      44. Nations need their OWN currency (definition of, small subdivisions of currency, legal defined, and tax-law that reads on nation’s own currency).

Each nation may have their OWN separate currency … (definition, fractions and laws).

For international trade, the present bid / ask price ratio is working and now in place.

Bit-coin concept, at this time is more complication.

As foreign transaction needs fair and slow-moving stable
ANCHOR (such as the bid / ask futures pricing of Gold … price .1 times now, plus .9 times the year ago moving average).

Bid/ask pricing will allow a slow stable Gold ANCHOR for foreign tractions, government and large long term legal contracts. This is MONEY.

A good Money Anchor is needed long before Bit-coin adds
more noise to the money-anchor versus the currency argument. Gold is a poor anchor … but it is now the
        BEST money anchor.

Define money as an Anchor, Currency as national, defined.
Bid/Ask will tend to level a fair playing-field over time.

      45. If people don’t change the way they live, and live like nobody else, then later they won’t live like anybody else. It is a matter of perspective now, and a matter of perspective later. In plain English, get your house in order. Just like the above post says people get crazy and stupid when they run out of food. So look at places like – http://www.gunbot.net/list

      46. Its time to unleash the Cracken.

      47. Hell on Earth is Coming, with a Vengeance!

      48. Everything is very open with a really clear description of the challenges.
