That is the basic problem: focus. TPTB have it, the general public does not. This is the reason for all the diversions: TV, Entertainment, Political Theater. Its a type of divide and conquer where they never give the general public a chance to form any type of cohesive movement. Keep ’em all fighting about left/right, prodeath/prolife, RepubliCON/DemocRAT, Hawks/Doves, American Idle, Video Games, and on and on and on and on. Anything but about the real issues of freedom and The Republic.
The general public knows it should be more cohesive but it keeps getting fed all these diverse stimuli. Consequently when something rises above the fray, the 9/11, they jump on it and support it even to their detriment (like the (un)Patriot(ic) Act).
I know this because I fell victim to it. Now, I focus on what the beast really is: A corporate creation of the elites first put in motion by the US Civil War (which wasn’t really a civil war because it was a war between two DIFFERENT countries, but thats another story) and then focused into The Act of 1871.
I believe the US Civil War was the first “False Flag” of sorts. A war, by design, with internal, misdirected information. I know this, because, 150 years later it is still confusing people. A war about financial gain and financial slavery. Certainly it was about slavery just not the kind in the high school textbooks’ rhetoric. In reality the slavery they promoted (not fought against) was the kind where we seem to un-slave the black race while we tax slave the entire nation. It was about equal opportunity enslavement. 150 years later less than 2% understand the US Civil War. 99% still say it was about the slavery of the black man. (…a political device used near the end of the war when people started to understand what it was all about…)
While the populous was healing from the confusion and injury of the USCW they didn’t even notice that the government had been abandoned and replaced with a corporation with all the offices of the same name. The biggest ruse in history. Maybe not, but certainly in the top 10. While the government was barred from stealing from you by law (your liberty or your money) the corporation (I call it FedCo) could, at will. Not quite “at will” since FedCo needed to continue to appear to the public like our Constitutional Government to stop an uprising. (…cohesivity!)
Fast forward a few generations and FedCo is getting bolder and bolder because people are so fully distracted by so much and varied stimuli that a cohesive understanding of what FedCo is has become nearly impossible. …and also because Americans have forgotten what true freedom is.

I’m black and a Christian. I believe in being prepared. My family is mixed and I live in rual northeastern Maine. Not many blacks here at all. We have almost nine months of winter, so unless you are raised here or love the area, you do not want to be here in the winter. Most of my Christian friends have the fairly tale belief that they are going to fly out of here before things get bad. And my non Christian friends just can’t seem to get their minds rapped around the idea that things could go so wrong that they’d have to take care of themselves. They think someone will always be there to save them. They just stare at me when I talk to them about prepping. I think deep down inside, it scares the sxxt out of them to think of a collaspe of the system. One of my daughters who was raised in Maine and now lives in NY keeps a bug out bag packed to grab and come home after experiencing 911. I ask her to contribute to the preparing I’m doing, she won’t. My other children just depend on Mom and family in Maine. I have faith in God, however my bible shows me that God warned people and told them to prepare many times.Of course our ultimate survival depends on the God. According to the word good wins over evil. But there are some bad times before the final showdown. So to speak. I did not be to belittle anyone’s belief in the rapture. I’m a Christian. I’ve told church people about hyperinflation. They seem to believe it’s coming but they don’t see the need to prepare. Some people see preparing as a lack of faith in God. I see it as taking common sense precautions. There are other church people who think I’m crazy. I did what I can. I believe that the chaos will lead to the one-world government prophesied in Revelation. We have a year’s supply of food and water. We have guns and ammo. Kerosene heater and kerosene. Camp stove and coleman fuel. I didn’t start prepping until June. I saw Porter Stansberry’s End of America video. That woke me up. I could be wrong but I get the sense that the collapse is coming soon. I think it will happen this winter if not sooner.

If you prep out of fear, then it is indeed, a lack of faith. I don’t blame Christians for not prepping in a food/water sense at all. The Bible makes it clear that you have nothing to fear if you put your faith in God. If you feel that you are lead to prep, than by all means.

I used to wonder if I was showing faith with my prepping, until I noticed that three times in Proverbs a scripture is repeated (with some variation) that says: “The wise man sees danger and prepares (or hides himself), while the simple keep going and suffer for it.”
After seeing this…all I can think of is the book of Revelation. Everything has been building to this for a long time.
Make sure your heart and soul is prepared. In the end that is what will really matter.

Thought of this type of thing has kept me up at night for 3 years now. On Israel, though, I would disagree. Palestine was supposed to get statehood by the UN in September. If there is greater exchange then all bets are off for the survival of mankind – does not now much sodding ‘stuff’ you have stashed away as you would have to live underground for well over a year and when you emerge there will be little. Wealth in this scenario is meaningless as there would be nothing of meaning left.
The other factor that is not normally built in is that there are over 400 nuclear installations over the world with used nuclear fuel containment ponds that rely on continuous power supply to cool the spent fuel. If a major war occurs then the grid systems will collapse and many of these installations will go critical very quick and flood the atmosphere with radiation – Fukushima x100, x200….take your pick.

Most say by an EMP, I am not so sure about that idea. Is anyone else starting to have doubts zbout an EMP? Does anyone really know that this technology works? Have you seen it? I have seen the destructive power of a nuclear bomb. We have all seen it. That is what would scare me the most. An armed Iran or Syria. They could do a lot of damage with a couple of tactical nuke strikes to this country. 4 or 5 well placed detonations to cities in this country and we would be dealt a real blow.

Just do some research there is lots out there to check on the effects and causes of emp if you have a computer and internet. A coronal mass ejection can do the same thing if it hits the earth, one happened in the 1880’s and melted telegraph lines of 12 gauge wire so a microchip is toast. I’m doing this on a phone since my hardrive burned out 2 months ago, so its from memory the ultimate computer.
There are a lot of people fearmongering EMPs. The fact is most people don’t understand transients and EMPs. The unfortunate fact is that I do. …and because I do, most of the “information” on the internet is purely and simply bullshit designed to keep people reading.
A properly placed nuke designed to maximize its EMPness would do a couple things that would be devastating:
1) Know out the power grid. It might only knock out 10% of the grid but thats bad enough. It would take us years to recover. …and the really be distribution lines? Yeah, they’be be toast. Most of the equipment is protected, but, and EMP would be far more powerful and far reaching than a few lightning strikes and there for far more damaging. Figure this: a nuke with high EMPness and the power grid is toast.
2) Any type of RF transmission equipment that either has long wires attached to it (Telephone cabling?) or a sizeable antenna array will be toast. Below ground will help but not much. Essentially, all the radio transmitters, DSL DSLAMs, etc will be toast.
If the nuke is close enough to fry your ECM of your vehicle, you’ll be far more worried about the blast and radiation than you will about the EMP. Hello? Its encased in aluminum, the wires aren’t that long *AND* there is this thing call a “body” that your car as. its steel and all connected together? Its a pretty good RF shield and therefore a pretty good EMP shield.
Much like lightning causes electrons to migrate, so will an EMP only to a magnitude of 10 or maybe even 100. But, regardless, most things that don’t provide a conduit for the electrons to flow from one place to another will be spared.
I could go into great detail about how all this works, but, suffice it to say that if you have your system unplugged it will definately be OK. Same with everything else.
But, the big problem will be getting the electricity to run stuff. Any EMP damage will take years to repair. Better have a generator and a bunch of gas, know how to use it and know how to conserve fuel.
Don’t believe much you hear about EMPs. Its mainly fearmongering.

GC: While EMP is one of the results of a high-order nuclear detonation, it is also an effect of plasma storms on the sun. I do not recall the year, a little Googling should do the trick, in the 1800s we experienced just that, in a world where power lines were used for little more than telegraphs. Longer-term: riots (no police – no communications and no autmobiles), death (no EMS, no running water, no sewage pumps, etc.), raging fires (no Firefighters, no running water), etc…

As far as an EMP from a nuclear weapon, yes, it is real, yes is is EXTREMELY destructive, however, there are problems with this situation:
First, the weapon must be strong enoguh (not that difficult to obtain).
Second, it has to be deliverable (realistically, there are very few nations capable of delivering a nuclear weapon to the edges of space – this is where it would have to be for the EMP effect to cover a large-enough area to cause the desired effect.
Third, if a weapon detonated that high in the atomosphere, we will see none of the “nuclear” effects down here aside from the EMP – a little research on nuclear-theory physics and high-altitude winds will help you understand.
Furthermore, in reality, the only reason for the use of such a weapon to produce an EMP is to disrupt and confuse prior to putting boots on the ground. If there is an EMP “attack”, and there are not foreign boots on the ground within a 72hrs, it was a false-flag event – this is the most likely scenario (due to the difficulties in delivering a weapon to the required altitude, constructing such a weapon and getting it past our security, and, of course, the obvious reponse from the US if attacked with a nuclear weapon is a nuclear strike – very few are that stupid). <- on that note, anyone ever wonder if 9/11 were not a false-flag event, why our response was so limited? Prior to 9/11 the last time our country was attacked from the outside, causing that much death and damage, was 7 Dec. 1941 – as a result, we invented the most devastating weapon man has ever concieved of and we used it..twice!

Regarding delivery.. Iran has already successfully launched satelites into orbit. One was a communications satelite .. so they said.
Syria or Iran aren’t going to launch nukes against us. We’d wipe them off the map. The real problem is terrorists smuggling nuclear bombs into the US and then setting them off in US cities. We wouldn’t know who did it.

I’d be very concerned about domestic terrorists myself. Some of these groups DO have sympathizers who are either now within certain branches of the U.S. government, or who were once part of and/or associated with them. Two people I can think of are David Duke and one Robert ‘Bob’ Whitaker. EMP is real, or at least the military fears it and spends lots of money trying to figure out how to shield equipment from its effects. I have a family member that works for Boing on a contract to the US military and thats all he does all day long is analyze the effects of manmade EMP attacks on military hardware.

Especially given the survival rates you are talking about, people need to think this one through. They might be one of those 20%. I hope everyone with kids can get them to watch Jericho all the way through…seriously. At least they can see what things might look like, even the Hollywood version. @God, In July of 1962 the US Navy detonated a nuclear bomb above Johnston atoll in the Pacific Ocean. The resulting EMP wave knocked out the electrical grid as well as disrupting telephone calls between the islands in parts of Hawaii. This test was known as Starfish Prime. Actually, we do have plans and conditions for using nukes. You can prep for hard times. You can buy gold, silver, diamonds and anything else. You can move to Tim-Buck-Too and get 40 acres and a mule, carry a gun 24/7 and bring your extended family with you; all doable, all possible. Prepping for a nuclear WWWIII? IMO – we are almost toast. There are very few countries which would even consider attacking us directly; conventional or nuke.. the reprisal would be unimaginable. A single nuke, disguised as a satellite would send us instantly back into the dark ages.. and us with 350 million + mouths to feed. If you are familiar with military grade hardware ( I mean screws, nuts, bolts ) you will see that many of the consumer products being shipped are in fact produced using Mil Spec hardware. If they can make a reliable DVD player, which they can, the laser technology for a DVD player is readily transportable to military applications. A very large % of all printed circuit boards are now made in China. A very large % of all electrical components for those boards are also made exculsively in China. I have a friend who manufactures PCB’s and he has to buy almost all of his raw material from China. I ain’t what it used to be.

As far as the single EMP device detonating above our country goes, remember that we have rudimentary ballistic missile defenses. These went into service in about 2004 I believe. Bush built 100 interceptors. There’s also SM3 from naval ships.
While these are rudimentary and cannot defeat major attacks, a situation like the one that has been described can be defeated.
We would only use our interceptors against an actual missle attack. We would not know that what is billed as a communications or weather satellite is actually a nuke until it was detonated.
Forget Star wars, fleets and missiles. Who checks everything being imported into the USA. Is every big generator or large piece of machinery everything it seems? The seeds of destruction may already have been imported into US cities. With nuclear weapons being so small and powerful, war can be a very dangerous game. I’ve been reading this site for a long time and just recently started posting. I am a prepper, but I, myself an not religious. I’m not anti-religion, I’d say I’m more agnostic. My stance is good for you if you are religious, and what I love about this country is that you can practice just about anything you want. I don’t bash other’s views, so long as they aren’t hurting anyone or repressing anyone else. My aggravation comes when people start trying to convert me and telling me I’m going to burn f I don’t believe the way they do. Do you realize how that makes you sound?
My point for posting this is that if your SHTF Plan is to turn to your God, then great, but lately this site seems to have gone from great advice or interesting debate to this “Don’t worry God will save us” plan. To each their own, but when civil unrest occurs outside your door, and it’s time to defend your family, you can go pray all you want. I just pray I don’t miss.

Each of these “fear mongering” theories gives insight into a potential outcome. I just think it’s funny that the West hasn’t yet won the two insurgent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan after 10 years. If they had won, they’d have packed up and gone home right? Good luck, I’ve been trying for years. The last time the family got together I had all my financial facts ready. I actually sat down at the table with a Tin Foil hat on. Everyone had a good laugh.
Now 75 days later I get calls from my mother and brother asking what they need to do to get started. Unfortunately without throwing $25k at their problem now, I don’t think they are going to make it.
Though they can spend the money for the supplies, tools and weapons, they have absolutely no skills. Not even fire starting with matches and they live 600 miles away. They may have time to get the most basic weapons skills, but that’s about it.
It’s my hope post collapse, that I can get them to move within 24 hours. If I can get them here during the early stages and they have the stuff I’ve told them to buy, they wil have a chance. I’ll just have to train them up when they arrive.
After the events in Europe over the weekend it looks like Germany and France are getting ready to run the presses at full speed. With most sovereign countries printing money it could be a protracted collapse.
Now that it’s Monday in Japan it looks like the Nikkei is liking the new global QE that’s about to begin.

There is a brother in law in my family like those you describe in yours. He started prepping in May after I got him to reach one second after and later he read patriots. He’s spending $500/1000 a month now on preparing and bought his first gun (10/22) in August. He doesn’t know it but I picked up a used SKS just with him in mind to loan him; his property is a good intermediate Bug Out spot for me on the way to my own. But before he started prepping it would have been to risky to stop at his place but now I’d gladly take him. In 4 short months he’s solved all water issues, seed, and has started his firearms training. This month he’s getting an RIA 45 and I’ll loan him a 22 kit for it so he can get some decent training in. I’m amazed how far he’s gotten in 4 months on less than 1k a month. Oh and he’s got 6 in his family to worry about including himself.
24 hours is to short of time post collapse evac, think more like 72hrs just to be safe with any unforseen issues…

I cringe at how many still believe the first paragraph above. I imagine that a mass majority of us here disbelieve damn near everything that our government tells us, certainly this reader (now poster) does, and yet we fail to question 50+ years of propaganda and lies about communism?
I posted similar in another thread earlier tonight, but the very idea of a country, negates the ideals of communism. What most Americans believe of communism is actually *socialism* with the prominent political party being the Communist party, who’s ultimate goal is *supposedly* communism. Take a read of the English translation of “The Communist Manifesto” sometime. You’ll learn that first capitalism, and then socialism are regarded as necessary evils of government before communism can be _achieved_.
Obviously, that goal was lost somewhere along the way…probably about 4 years in for the former Soviet Union. First they skipped a step and then they barely began to scratch the surface of socialism before Stalin came along and really f’d things up for those people.
I envision the ultimate freedom of the human race actually being something very similar to Engles and Marx’s ideals (there are certain obvious flaws in those ideals — for instance the concept of any type of ownership, including the idea of a “state” or “state ownership”), but I don’t expect our species to grow up until long after my grandchildren’s grandchildren’s deaths.
Anyway, my point is that communism has never been attempted, much less outright rejected. I hope that explanation helps educate rather than anger anyone.

it seems to me that somone is always claiming the end of days is near. the bible said so, there for it must be true.
I heard this claim ever since I was a small child and doing “duck and cover” under my school desk just incase the USSR nuked us.
heard that claim all throughy-out the 80’s. Heard all through-out the 90’s for 1999 was supposed to have been the end of the world/end of time. Heard the claim all through-out 2000-10 for a terrorist was supposed to wipe us out.
every single claim is in reaction to a man made crises. not a natural disaster. it’s a flase claim made out of fear.
fear is a huge motivator. it can drive people to do the strangest things.
the world is not going to end cause the bible tells us so. the world will simply change. the reason for prepping is to provide you with supplies and defense to get you through a turbulant period of time.

The Bible claims to be the revealed Word of God which describes His Creation and His Plan for it.
Personally, I believe that everything that happens in this world happens for three reasons:
1. It happens by the Will of God according to his Plan.
2. It happens by Grace, in answer to our prayers.
3. And it happens by His Forebearance,as He allows US to exercise OUR free will; as agents of change and co-creaters with him.
So We can change the world with OUR prayers and with OUR actions.
Most events appear to be the reaction to OUR actions as cause and effect are manifested in the world, based upon OUR initiatives.
This manifestation reflects OUR individual and mass consciousness, as OUR minds interact at the quantum level. Everyone has a “quantum address” just as WE have an “IP adress”.
WE have the power to change the world We live in (within limits) if We will accept that responsibility. Most of US will not because it takes too much effort, and WE are too busy keeping up with the Kardasians to care or notice.
We face a colossal, human-induced global predicament. Emerging and converging ecological challenges we have chosen to ignore rather than acknowledge during my lifetime is in large part the result of the way silence is employed by ‘the powers that be’ and their minions to prevail over science. Hysterical blindness, willful deafness and elective mutism of knowledgeable human beings with feet of clay rule the world every bit as much as malignant narcissism, pathological arrogance and extreme foolishness of greedmongering masters of the universe rule the world. This pernicious situation is as intolerable as it is dangerous to future human well being and environmental health.
