They’d have us believe that happy days are here again. And, if your only source of information for economic news is the mainstream media and their talking heads, then in all likelihood you’ve bought into the hype about an economy on the rebound, consumers being more confident, housing prices in recovery and a government that’s soon to resolve America’s fiscal woes.
Nothing could be further from the truth. We are very rapidly approaching a situation that could be much, much worse than what we experienced in 2008.
Remember, in 2008 then Secretary of the Treasury Hank Paulson warned that we were literally on the brink of collapse and Congressional representatives were told that the situation was so serious that should the economy, financial markets and the US dollar crash, it would lead to riots and the need for martial law.

If we were on the brink in 2008, and we spent the last five years injecting TRILLIONS of dollars into the system, why are we once again at the cusp of another crash?
Because they fixed nothing.

The fact is, there is nothing they can do to stop whats coming. The money junkies (a Gerald Celente term) cannot stop their theft. As such, they cannot stop the complete blow up. It is imploding because of their theft. The implosion will stop their theft. Its an equilibrium thing. They’ve been propping it up the tunnel so they can steal more. But, they’re out of timbers and the tunnel is about ot collapse, trapping us all inside. “Inside” refers to the “easy life” that most Americans and others around the world live. We actually have to go back to creating and adding something.
Way to much emphasis has been placed on worthless activity. They call it entertainment. It ads nothing to this world but it does use up resources. It, therefore, robs us of value while returning nothing. So much of the world has been build upon this. There must be a re-alignment.
…and, its coming.
The greatest asset a man has is that he enjoys his work and that his work helps keep others supplied with one of the 5 basic needs:
Security.
Food.
Health.
Shelter.
Love.
If what you’re doing doesn’t serve one of the above functions, you’re a drain on society. Endeavors of entertainment and greed subtract from the 5 basic needs. This is what is happening to our world. It is falling apart because entertainment and greed have been elevated above their true positions. We have, effectively, “lost our way”.
…or at least some have. But, be prepared! You are about to witness a time of re-orientation! It will be painful, but, to those of us that understand, VERY fulfilling.

you make an important point. Change is definetly coming, but not all will survive. The changes coming will be much more extensive, and more far reaching than even preppers can imagine. There are many variables to consider, and none of them are good.

Very important to be able to handle rapid critical thinking and one of you biggest assets is going to be your ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing situations.

I don’t like being ‘forced’ to admit that you are probably spot-on with regard to the question of timing. Clever folks that the PTB are; I still question their ability to keep all the balls in the air for very much longer. There are simply way too many serious events all coming to pass simultaneously for the system to be able to deal with them all effectively.
The six new 5 gal. gas cans sit there in “Dad’s-Crazy-Closet” with the fuel stabilizer sitting right next to them. A tag tied to one of the cans gives the amount of stabilizer per 5 gal. can. I wish I could store more, but that’s the best we can do. But in a world where everyone is on a quarter of a tank; 30 gallons of gas might just make you ‘King-of-the-Rubble’.
We are going through everything, sorting stuff out and making absolutely sure that we know where everything is. You may also wish to take what may be a “last look” at what you have set aside.

I have been buying more long term food items each week, for a long time. Even if I wasn’t a prepper, using dollars to buy items that rise in price on a regular basis, just makes common sense. Nothing is going to get any cheaper from here on till the end.

True, but I don’t give them that much credit. I am beginning to think their fiat scam is like Frankenstein’s monster. They used the carcasses of failed scams past to assemble a financial beast that may be out of their control now, or sometime in the near future. Sure, they can manipulate, lie, cheat, outright steal, but at some point, no matter what you do, you confront the inevitable law of diminishing returns.
They want our guns before the crush things, but what if they no longer can control the timing? Just something to think about.
I’m thinking that if it appears that they are losing control, and they do not have their gun confiscation program set up and operating, then they will pull some kind of false -flag on a very large scale in order to bring in martial law immediately.
I’d look for the nuking of a city (terrorism false-flag)…possible bio-terror attack…or even an EMP attack that they will attempt to blame on N. Korea or Iran.
In any case…they will want something big so as to throw the entire nation into confusion. This would also serve to distract the public’s attention from them and cause it to refocus on whatever boogieman they create as being the ones who did it. (Remember 9/11 folks)
I do believe that if they sense that the people are starting to wake up, they will do something of this nature to quash the uprising.
Remember….their creed is to bring order out of chaos. They are the masters of engineered crisis in order to provide the “solution”.
And I somewhat believe they may even have the technology (HAARP) to possibly cause earthquakes or other weather events that could contribute to the problem.

a good point to remember, is that the controllers always seem to tell you what they are going to do, before they do it. if they are buying bullets by the millions, they aren’t doing it for target practice, unless we, are the targets. Walt I believe that you are correct in your assessment of the situation. Have you noticed how they are ginning up the stories about Iran and N. Korea? Again with the weapons of mass destruction. A major military conflict is the only way they can save “Their” system now without the masses finding out. As the dollar is not hyper-inflating yet, the Federal Reserve still has plenty of room to continue debasing the dollar. Granted, when we hit that final downward spiral into hyper-inflation conditions will worsen at a geometric pace. But we’re not there just yet.
As long as the world and Americans still have some confidence in the dollar as the world reserve currency, the Federal Reserve will keep printing money and buying most of America’s debt until the rest of the world calls it quits and dumps U.S. Treasuries. Then things will get very interesting indeed.
Its correct. If one prints the money, then they get the money. So, its easy money for them. They will keep on printing it and effectively stealing from working Americans until Americans find the alternative.
Until an alternative currency arises. To date, people are still mainly trading in dollars. Can you buy from your local shop with barter? My local shops are almost all national chain stores; so, I cannot. I have to use dollars. None of them even take a local currency.

I haven’t found any local shops here in Florida that barter, although I’m sure I just haven’t found them yet. However, I have seen a number of ads from gun dealers in Texas and Montana who will sell firearms for silver or gold.
On a recent trip to Germany a small local merchant near the hotel had a sign posted which said he accepts both German Deutsche Marks and Euros.
The message is out there among the awakening population that unbacked fiat paper currency isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on, and it’s just a matter of time until the rest of world figures it out. When they do, hang on to your seat.
Canada recently announced it will no longer make pennies and Obama is considering a similar measure. The Powers That Be cannot have anything in circulation that holds any value what-so-ever.
When the copper content in a penny is worth more than a $1 dollar bill, you know we are screwed beyond all recognition.

I have no interest in being a sheeple, i.e. as those who are deemed inordinately tolerant, or welcoming, of government intrusion and regulation. But, my trust is not in Sam Colt. Sam Colt may be made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
It is going to be interesting to see how things are going to shake out. That is an interesting ad in blue on the right column of Mac’s page entitled: “Obama’s Third Term?” An unstoppable economic force is underway right now that has nothing to do with Obama or his policies. . . He will be credited for this massive creation of wealth and will use it to push his socialist agenda. hmmm interesting. Maybe Mac could do a column on that possible scenario.
Life has taught me to invision the worst possible case and even try to take it a few steps past that while hoping for the best. That way should the worse case start to stick up its ugly head, you’re ready to deal with it appropriately instead of being in denial. That’s a good reason to prep, cause failing to prepare is preparing to fail. And, when it is all said and done we don’t want to find out we failed.

Also what many fail to do is include that the Disciples bring forth 2 swords, which Christ calls “Enough”.

Bottom line, self defense, and defense of the defenseless is a Biblical mandate. The economic events taking place today should really not surprise anyone. The book “When Money Dies” (sorry don’t remember author and am to lazy to go find book) is a referenced history of the events leading up to the hyperinflation of Weimar Germany. You can follow along with the events of today’s America with a little imagination and changing the names and titles of the principle actors. Our economic calamity is unfolding in near lock step with Weimar Germany’s. Only the final solution is yet to be exposed while our “republic” is preparing to confiscate citizens’ weapons. I’m afraid Fox News is just as unreliable a news source as ABC, NBC, CBS, ETC, etc. YOU have to search out the truth, bits and pieces at a time. You’re not wrong, prepare now if you haven’t already. Read about Argentina’s inflation around 2000 @ Silver Bear Cafe(?)to get an idea of what it may look like. Last, and I don’t mean to preach, stop hoping, start acting. The sequester is a joke – 89 billion – only 10% cut in the deficit about a 2% slow down in growth of .Gov spending.
What happens when they cut the other 900 billion to stop borrowing money. There is still a 16+ trillion dollar debt to pay.
This is just the beginning and a very small beginning at that.
You guys talk about .Gov fixing the sequester. THEY CANT FIX IT – THEY CAN ONLY CONTINUE BORROWING.

Another way to preserve green beans for long term use is to dry them.
They can be strung up on twine and hung in a hot place (like your attic)
to dry. Then put them in a brown paper bag and seal them. They will keep

For unknown reasons the media and therefor most citizens think our problems are in the rear mirror. Nothing has changed including the euro zone, the debt both government and personal, the health of the banking system etc have not changed. Most people just quit hearing about the issues. Americans are concerned about sports, reality tv, who won on several contest shows and distractions that politicians feign in order to have us look the other way. They point to the housing market getting better as proof we are emerging. The housing market is gamed by shadow inventory and lack of inventory. If the rates were not suppressed and the delinquent loans called we would have a clear dismal picture of our lot. Things are disturbing and have not improved. We are in deep trouble and people have their heads buried. People need to get ready.
The house next to mine has been sitting empty for basically three years. How’s THAT for shadow inventory? I hear that sometimes the banksters don’t foreclose and take posession in order to avoid property taxes, HOA fees, etc and leave the former homeowner on the hook for these. I have heard that if you are going to walk away, you should file a Quit Claim Deed with the county. May be worth looking into.
We were lucky to get our very nice house sold 3 years ago. Told the dh at that time that government will never cut spending and that taxes on everyone would go up, whether through inflation or just plain increases. We sold, bought a cheap, old house in the country and have NEVER looked back. No regrets, just totally grateful we could cut our expenses and get prepped as much as possible. Other houses in our old neighborhood are sitting empty or have been foreclosed on.

Bob, the reason that house is sitting empty is because it belongs now to Fannie Mae or Freddi Mac (HUD). They were the Federal entity that insured the no doc – no down – no verification loan that the bank made. They had to pay the original lender 95% or more of the loan.
They cannot start selling off the 1 or 2.9 million foreclosures they own with out crashing the existing equities in the houses around you. I could go on but it is boring and repetitive. But that is the upshot.

Max Keiser recently went out on a limb and predicted the collapse for the tail half of April, after tax day this year… and I tend to believe it. We’re already in full-tilt currency wars and trade wars, which classically always led to hot wars.
The only reason the DOW is hovering at 14,000 is because all those big companies already laid off all the people they could and still work… so they could give those “savings” to the stockholders. That is not sustainable because it is not based on performance. The whole thing is about to come crashing down.
The reason our prostitute politicians are going for the gun grab is they are afraid of the aftermath of the crash. Most of their hidey-holes have already been done away with. Remember that “earth quake” that hit DC a couple years back? It wasn’t an earth quake. It removed their east coast hideout.

You will start accruing penalties and interest on the “owed” amount and the amount “owed” will start to grow rapidly.
The extension does not apply to your taxes “owed” but only to your 1040 filing. The extension is supposed to be accompanied with the estimated shortfall for your “owed” taxes. A wrong estimate will cost you extra if the IRS feels they were under-paid.

We can all “feel” that things just don’t make sense.
There is an old saying that govt gets more of what it subsidizes, and less of what it taxes.
What gets subsidized? Laziness, out-of-wedlock births, inefficient energy businesses, wildly speculative investment vehicles, inefficient agricultural activity, any entity that pays off the politicians.
What gets taxed? Work, savings, petroleum based energy production, manufacturing, profitable agricultural activity, anything the government does not like (that doesn’t pay off the politicians).
The activities this government rewards subtract from economic output The things this government punishes are exactly what the ecomony needs to once again be strong.
We know this is immoral, that it is wrong in every sense of the word, and we know it cannot go on. We don’t need a PhD in Economics to know this does not make sense. Is March the month? Nobody knows. We do know, however, that this cannot go on indefinitely. Our inner sense of what is right and wrong tells us that there will be a consequence for this foolishness. Our job is to be in the best position possible to care for those who we are responsible for. That is all we have control over.
They will float the markets back up if they strike a miracle last minute deal on the sequester.
I hope they won’t.
The biggest problem is that the Fed is destroying the dollar. If all we had was an economic crash we could recover from that.

I just sent off for a solar array with a battery pack and inverter. It should arrive in the next couple days. Time is short. Get supplies while you can. I hate that we’re being kept on the edge all the time, but in a way it’s better than not having a clue.
Scout, I hope you purchased a good charge controller. All the charge controllers under $30.00 are junk. They will eventually boil your batteries(personal experience). You want Monocyrstalline solar panels and deep cycle batteries(Golf Cart, AGM, or Marine DC). Car batteries will not last. These are the companies that I have landed on for small off grid solar systems. Morningstar – Charge Controllers, Interstate Batteries(cause they are local) – Golf Cart & Marine DC, Solar Panels – Amazon’s Instapark 15 n 30 watt & Home Depot’s 100 watt panels are well made.
EMP event has led me to get a extra Charge Controller and Solar Panel and hide them in my metal cage. Batteries would most likely survive as long as they are not connected to anything.
I spent hundreds, so I’m hoping for something higher caliber than offered by say, Harbor Freight. I’ve seen what 30-dollar junk looks like, and it’s less than appealing. This is a power kit from Survival Warehouse. I’ve been mulling it over for some time, and as of late felt motivated to go for it.

You can charge car batteries with solar. Car batteries are built different than Deep Cycle batteries and do not hold up well to deep discharges. Their lead plates are thin, DC batteries have thicker lead plates and will hold up much better. I am not sure you want all the physics behind the physics. Here is a short example. A good 12 volt battery at rest with no load should be between 12.6 and 12.9 volts. When you use a battery the voltage will drop. Car batteries can be safely used to about 12 volts. If you run them down farther than that you can damage them. DC batteries can with stand voltage drops to 11.2 volts with out causing damage. Thus a DC will give you more useable energy before the sun comes up.
In closing I would not use your car battery for “little things in a short term power failure. Internet, heater, etc.” The only thing maybe to charge your phone. I would invest in a Deep Cycle battery. Today I bought another “Blem” DC Marine 27 series battery from Interstate Battery for $47.50. A new one would be closer to $120.00. If you want to keep the battery in the house I would get a AGM style battery. That may be closer to $200.00.

You need to first work the equation backwards.
1st How many watts do I need and for how long?
2nd How much sun is available at this location?
3rd Stand alone or grid-tied system?
Answer those questions and it will point you to the equipment and ultimately the cost.

You need a professional to come take a look. How are you going to heat your water? What are you plans for AC? What do you do for heat? Solar electric will not solve those questions. To run the normal electric stuff in a 2000 square foot house may cost $15,000 – $30,000 to keep the freezer cold, lights, TV, computer, water well, and a few other things. If you live alone you could get by with less, but factor in wife, kids, laundry, and the price goes up.

I have a trad IRA and I’ve agonized over whether to withdraw it and pay the tax or leave it there. I’m 68, retired, have pension and PT-work income. I’ve already gotten out of all mutual funds, and my IRA is almost all cash. I took some out last year and owe a lot to the IRS this time. I wanted this savings for “old age” issues (I’m 68 now). If I take it out, I would not want to spend it, but keeping FRNs in my safe might also be foolish. Maybe I could buy a very small farm back home (Texas), but it seems that time is running out.
Not a tax adviser, but your are Never to old to buy dirt. Farm ground would be you best hedge against the future. I would not keep more than $5,000 in FRN, the rest would be in silver dimes, quarters, halfs, dollars. I might grab a couple of 5 dollar gold pieces too. Texas is a great state! We live a couple of states north of there.

The Obama administration’s recent decision to lift the ban on women in combat has opened the door for a change in the law that currently compels only men between age 18 and 25 to register for a military draft, according to legal experts and military historians.
Never before has the country drafted women into military service, and neither the administration nor Congress is in a hurry to make them register for a future call-up. But, legally, they may have no other choice.
Now that front-line infantry, armor, artillery and special operations jobs are open to female volunteers who can meet the physical requirements, it will be difficult for anyone to make a persuasive argument that women should continue to be exempt from registration
On the question of re-establishing a military draft, male and female voters said they were opposed, 65-28, according to the poll. If a draft were called, however, men backed the conscription of women as well as men, by 59-36, the poll said. But 48 percent of the women surveyed said they did not want women to be drafted while 45 percent said they should be.
Sounds like the reason to get rid of “don’t ask – don’t tell” and allowing gays in the military… Claiming to be gay will no longer be grounds for avoiding a draft.

We are prepping like crazy, as fast as we can with what we’ve got. My only fear is I know my husbands job will be GONE in the collapse and we do not own our home. The bank does. Our mortgage is pretty high ($170K – which is average for our area).
Will the banksters be coming for my home if and when EVERYONE with a mortgage defaults? I worry about having a shelter and somewhere to live. And there just isn’t money to pay it off or even sell it right now, as we are underwater a bit. No money to go buy land, etc. I just don’t know what to do. The idea of being homeless scares the **** out of me worse than anything else.
I’m pretty resourceful. I can feed & clothe my family. I’m a good gardener. Experienced in raising chickens, etc. Good marks-woman & have guns & ammo. But the shelter thing…thought of losing my home scares me horribly.
I think in a total collapse..the bankers coming for you home will be the last thing on thier mind, they will be too busy trying to get away from everyone who will want thier hide..not to mention..in a breakdown of society and financial break down those who can protect thier shelter will own it, if you get what im saying?

MomTo3, I hope others chime in on your dilemma — so much is changing that it’s difficult to plan.
I would ask if you feel safe and secure in the home you’re in and paying on. I would also ask if you feel it will be reasonably safe when the “S” hits. Do you trust neighbors? Do you believe your community will pull together? Or are you a newbie or a non-belonger or outcast? What you’re possibly facing is a serious issue, plan accordingly.
Right now, the propagandized-media claims that the housing market is “improving”. What is not being disclosed is the shadow inventory of homes in the process of foreclosure. So the housing market is being artificially propped up. No surprise there, huh? Maybe you could read up on the current housing market in your region and how the bankers/financiers are handling residents of homes that are in the foreclosure process. You could go so far as to check records, too, and track addresses to see if people are remaining in homes that have been foreclosed on.
In truth, who’s buying? And what are they buying? What about the comps in your area? Are the homes selling or sitting? Are they vacant/abandoned or are there people living there?
I feel there will be millions of “squatters” in the future, not necessarily people who are displaced, but people living in their own homes they have financially lost. People will do what they’ve got to do in order that they’re housed, safe, and secure. But beware the position of being “homeless” and then discovered by the government. There may come a time when the government wants to help the “homeless” to a new home, ie encampment. Do not go there. Literally. DO. NOT. GO. THERE.

We are happy here. Lived here all my life (in this area). Our kids are happy here. We live rurally so not many close neighbors and the ones we do have we like (but have no clue we are prepping, tho one may suspect w/ chickens goats, etc)
Ideally I want to stay here in my home. If we lost this house before everything went crazy, we could live with my parents or my inlaws whose homes are paid for. It would work – wouldn’t be ideal as we have issues w/ family but would work…if that makes sense.
I am seeing more and more families pull together and live together these days. Multiple generations under one roof, which I guess is how it should have been all along?

Mto3, some good feedback here from the others for the most part. Banking and mortgages in natural law is fraud. Fractional reserve lending allows them to create your loan out of thin air. They have nothing at risk and everything to gain (the improvement to the property; house, utilities, etc). This position succeeded occasionally in older court cases, but is almost impossible now as most courts function exclusively as the banks that they are (yes, you read that correctly… lots to learn there).
As was stated previously, not paying property taxes is far more dangerous than not paying your mortgage. Courts have no hesitation liening a property on behalf of the commonwealth, but in many cases, couldn’t care less about the banks and their endless trail of ownership swaps. I have a friend legally squatting in a $300K home that he was renting until the owner went into default. His numerous attempts to buy the house out of forclosure from the bank has been met with months of stalling as they know all too well that the property is worth more than the Federal Reserve Notes that my friend would pay for it. He has become a custodian of sorts for them. They call every so often to make sure the place is being heated, lighted, etc. and probably drive by on occasion to be sure it looks kept up.
The biggest issue however, is that since 1871, there is no such thing as allodial title in the US. So when you ponder the question of stable ownership, consider that we are all squatters to one degree or another. The US is a corporation in bankruptcy, so everything has a lien on it. “Title” is not ownership, contrary to what you’ve been taught. Title is privilege to use. They can take your so-called property any time they want technically (eminent domain is one example) but it’s bad for the illusion, so they usually don’t.
The coming reset, collapse, or whatever our grandchildren will call it some day, will change everything we think we know. TPTB will reallocate the land anyway they see fit to service their utopian, wet-dream counterfeit creation scenario. They are sick bastards and they have been perfecting their skills for thousands of years.

I have similar concerns. I have a mortgage but with equity. I don’t have enough saved to finically get by without an income for an extended time and if there’s a crash, who would have the money to buy my home anyways. If you save cash for bad times and then there’s hyperinflation, then that wipes out the value of your savings. If you have to start to cash out PM’s to get by, then so will everyone else and the crooks will bid you down well below the PM’s value. If there’s hyperinflation and you think you can sell some goods at the hyper inflated prices and then pay off your mortgage early, think again, the banksters own congress and will have all mortgages converted into variable rate mortgages.
Failing to pay property tax will get you thrown out of the home a lot faster than failing to pay the mortgage. Banks are leaving people in homes that are significantly in arrears on the mortgage while the banks continue to pay the property tax. If the property tax goes unpaid for too long, even the bank can lose the house.
If this is the “land of the free” then why must I pay property tax?

We had to depend on her credit card for couple wks to buy food. But we ALWAYS put nutrition first!! What I see today is something very, very different, and the amount of government involvement and control is staggering. Allow me to share an e-mail I received this morning from a structural inspector in my area. Two of his inspection orders have been cancelled within the last 7 days due to buyers loans (in process) who have had their hours cut back or furloughed by employers due to Obamacare, and they no longer can qualify for a loan to buy a home. Neither of these people work for the same company This is one inspector in a town of about 80 thousand people. As the realty of the costs of Obamcare to employers becomes more and more evident, this situation will become common place, beyond what it already is, IF those businesses intend to survive. The horrendous effects of Obamacare is merely one factor in this economy. Wide spread, dwindling factory orders, payroll tax increases, gas hikes, resulting in already stretched and stressed family pocketbooks. As a nation, we are slowly being financailly strangled to death, and we are all being lied to during the process.

In my humble opinion, we are knee-deep in the spectacle of collapse….and it is an engineered one. I’ve been getting these very strong vibes lately that time is short…..call in premonitions, call it ESP(n) or call it gas!! Regardless the feeling is unpleasant and the result won’t be good…..the time is late, the slide will pick up steam and in short order the S will surely HTF!!!!
Back about 1913 money was at the start of turning into something that had less and less backing, until Nixon finally killed the silver coins for good. Money is not physical anymore, want to know why? Because when money become a ghost it can be manipulated to just about any amount.
Here’s the problem with a financial disaster being the sole cause of hell in the U.S. Other countries are in the same boat, at least most of them. Misery loves company, but it is deeper than that. For the U.S. to suffer, someone else has to be doing much better. If not, then the misery just floats like crap in the toilet. If everyone else is doing very badly there are no other countries to benefit off the failure of everyone else. The world just gradually falls into a depression, not that quickly. Kind of like a flat real estate market, the prices just plain stay low, and there is no rapidly falling prices.
If you price in the value of gold and other precious metals, the stock market is not up that much from the 2008-09 levels of around 6500. In other words the stocks don’t have that much to fall again to reach the stock value in hard currency. In other words if the stocks lost half their value to 7000 or so, this would be like 3000-4000 in 2008-09 levels.
Okay, again in my opinion stocks can lead to a disaster on the long term like WW2 after the 30’s, but a rapid massive collapse, I just don’t feel it is going to happen because money is a phantom and can be jiggled around. It is called COOKING THE BOOKS. It can still be done and we could be talking about a 25 trillion dollar debt 1-2 years from now still waiting for that collapse.
This is why I say to look to the PHYSICAL disasters that are looming to collapse everything, including collapsing the economy. Real true physical disasters hurt, they are painful and have to be dealed with physically. Look at Fukushima, this is real. We are talking about some serious real radiation from this that can and will kill and destroy scores of property. A major quake with all those gas lines on the New Madrid would be catastrophic. War is beyond a nightmare to clean up and recover. A panademic would cost just about one trillion dollars for every 1-4% of the population that would die. Trust me everyone, look for the physical calamities to take down everything including the economy, that cannot be manipulated and played with.
Some people claim that’s why China, etc have been stocking up on gold and other goods. Because they know the U.S. is going down the tubes, they (China,etc) just can’t pull the plug yet because then they would be suffering also.
But if they stock up on gold, rice, etc beforehand, then when they’re fully prepped, they can pull the plug and suffer less damage, and take our place on the world stage, while we wither…

I agree completely. The collapse is more about societal breakdown than monetary insolvency…..ours has been so debased over time it has lost it’s intrinsic value. However, when the bloods and crypts are guarding Louis Farrakan and the Nation of Islam, when the Mexican gang-bangers are chasing the blacks out of California and the government is destroying religion in every form…and our moral compass along with it……we only need one small spark to get this conflagration going!! When that fire is lit…..well, be someplace either surrounded by water or on the upwind side. Prayer probably would be good about now if there wasn’t a predator drone outside my house using infrared or thermal technology to shoot a sidewinder up my keester if I get on my knees with a bible…….I think that particular fuse was lit in 2008/09 and is just starting to enter the drum of gunpowder!!!
Be Informed, I studied the issue of climate change religiously for a few years– read everything I could get my hands on about the subject. According to some experts, around 2030– 2035, Catastrophic Climate Change is going to be so well… catastrophic, that GOVERNMENTS will collapse. That’s right– that’s what many experts from various fields are predicting. An excellent and very up to date on the subject is “climate Wars”. If you want something to scare your socks off, this is the book to read. And everything predicted in that book is confirmed by top climate scientists (not pseduo-scientists paid for by the fossil fuel industry; I’m talking about real climate scientists).
Another rather interesting tidbit: According to Re-Insurance magazine (published several years ago), the Pentagon’s reports state…”there is substantial evidence to suggest that significant global warming will occur in this century… the evidence of an imminent and abrupt shift may become clear and reliable within a
decade.” (around 2015). A “shift”, that is, from the weather we’re used to having in the Halocene period, to Catastrophic climate, which some scientists describe as “Biblical Scenario” around 2050. (I did a term paper on this years ago).
