With tensions heating up on the Korean Peninsula after North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un fired several test missiles into Japanese-controlled territory, and following President Trump’s deployment of Navy Seals whose sole purpose will be to decapitate the leadership of the communist state, Un issued a shocking warning on Sunday.
If even a single bullet is fired, says Un, his country will immediately initiate a nuclear attack on the United States.
In a statement, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said: “The Korean People’s Army will reduce the bases of aggression and provocation to ashes with its invincible Hwasong rockets tipped with nuclear warheads and reliably defend the security of the country and its people’s happiness in case the US and the South Korean puppet forces fire even a single bullet at the territory of the DPRK.”
In an earlier statement U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson pointedly told North Korea that the policies of previous U.S. administrations, which allowed the North Koreans to achieve the nuclear bomb, have ended and that the United States will be pursuing a new strategy to disarm its long time adversary.
Noting that no option is off the table, Tillerson demanded North Korea cease pursuit of all nuclear programs:
Let me be very clear… the policy of strategic patience has ended… we are exploring a new range of diplomatic, security and economic measures… all options are on the table… North Korea must understand that the only path to a secure, economic prosperous future is to abandon its development of nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles and other weapons of mass destruction.
We have repeatedly warned that North Korea could be the trigger for war that could see a dozen or more countries in conflict should President Trump no longer pursue the failed policies of patient diplomacy taken by his predecessors George Bush and Barack Obama.
Statements from Tillerson, as well as the North Korean response threatening outright nuclear war, show that the situation in the region is escalating.
And though most Americans have gotten used to the rhetoric and inaction of North Korea, the Trump administration’s approach could be a global game changer with severe consequences.
It is not that difficult to envision a scenario in which President Trump takes military action involving more than a single bullet in response to Kim Jong Un’s nuclear and missile tests.
In that scenario, Kim Jong Un may take things to the next level, which could see the launching of nuclear tipped ballistic missiles or even Super EMP weapons designed to disable the U.S. power grid in one fell swoop.
While we hold out hope for world peace, we encourage concerned Americans to prepare for any possibility, especially as it relates to nuclear or radiological fall out:
- Have an emergency plan to get out of major cities: They will be the primary targets. If rhetoric turns to reality, you should be ready to exit metropolitan areas immediately.
- Minimize Radiation Intake: In case of a nuclear or radiological event, the Department of Homeland Security recommends countering the effects of radiation poisoning by supplementing your diet with an FDA-approved thyroid blocker.
- CBRN Respiratory Protection: An attack with Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear weapons of mass destruction is more probable today than anytime in the last 50 years. Protective tactical gas masks and NBC rated filtration systems can mean the difference between life and death in a nuclear emergency and the hours that follow.
- Nuclear Fallout Body Protection: In addition to protecting your thyroid and respiratory system, nuclear fall out can have deadly effects on the skin. Nuclear, Biological and Chemical full body suits are a necessity should you find yourself out in the open or trying to escape from a city.
Should North Korea or another adversary opt for a more strategic strike, such as detonating a single EMP-based nuclear weapon directly above the central United States, it could take down our entire power grid.
Experts have warned that such an attack could revert the United States back to the 1800’s, a scenario that could lead to the deaths of some 90% of the U.S. population within one year due to starvation, disease and violence.
This kind of disaster requires longer-term planning and stockpiling of essential supplies like emergency food, potable water and personal defense armaments.

What can be said about a ruler who executes people with anti-aircraft guns?
They can probably manage to hit the West Coast of the US, but not any specific target accurately. And they still have a satellite that passes overhead daily. There is still some debate about how much EMP would actually be necessary to take the whole grid down.
The larger danger in this is what China would do. They could probably stop NK from doing anything with a phone call. But, they now consider themselves at least minimally prepared to go to war with the US, which is on their list of “10 Inevitable Wars”.
If such a conflict does begin, even if China does nothing overtly, the various fifth columns within the US will get busy.

An EMP attack may well be possible, but unlikely to be totally effective in taking down the US electric grid. NK has nuclear capability, but not a delivery system to get nukes to CONUS.
Even if NK can’t put nukes on missles of any kind, they have had conventional weapons targeted at SK for decades, and can quickly turn Seoul into rubble. I think 40% of the SK population lives in greater Seoul. They should have moved out of artillery range a long time ago, but SK has depended upon US intimidation for decades. The US force left in SK is a speed bump. USA is now afraid of Chinese conventional forces. China can now threaten our vaunted carrier-based forces. USA is unused to fighting an adversary who can really threaten us back, as the US navy hasn’t come under serious fire in over 70 years. Many SK citizens could end up living a nightmare. Catastrophic EMP is a myth.
The inverse square law reduces it to local effects at most and the only part of the “grid” affected would be the part laid out in parallel relation to the pulse direction with most of the rest mitigating it.
Most electronics, and almost all straight electrical equipment would be unaffected unless it was in the immediate area of the blast.
Solar flares, the large ones, pretty much demonstrate this. When was the last time you saw catastrophic grid and electronic failure from a solar flare?

If you need to bug out by car, do you have a tire patching kit, a 12volt air compressor, and can you remove a nail or a screw from the tire before patching it? Sometimes it’s possible to do so without taking the tire off, if you can find the problem and get to it.
You’ll need needle nose pliers and possibly vice grips to do it. A four way lug wrench is a time saver, too.
Tire patch kits, under $10.
Otherwise an aerosol tire inflater can.
I’ve had good results from the sears craftsman 12v compressor although the air pressure gauge is worthless after a short time.
A small spotlight that plugs into the cig. lighter will help as well as a way to directly attach it to the battery (alligator clips). Just in case..
And remember what people here said, in case of emp, take the battery cables off, wait a minute and replace. Maybe it’ll restart. You need the right wrenches for that, usually 1/2″.
One thing that got me home after a concrete light pole got in my way one night was a small hydraulic jack. Needed to push the fender off the tire so I could drive it. Saved me a lot of hassle and probably a dui ticket, too.

Anyone that uses a 12v tire inflator had better have a long time to wait and have the wheel off of the ground. The best thing to have is a “Tire Plugger” and at least a foot pump. The Tire Plugger has a gun shape and a mushroom shaped tire plug that it injects into the tire. I’ve plugged many a tire with great results.
I agree, forget the 12v tire pumps that take forever. I always carry a few cans of Fix-a-Flat, that stuff works great so long as the tire bead seal hasn’t been compromised.

The North Korean missile program is a red herring. North Korea can nuke the US in many ways via letting one off on a ship, or letting off pre-positioned mini nukes within the US. No missile shield can stop that. As for a retaliatory strike back on NK, they have been preparing for that since the late 1950s. That’s a long time. Their baseline assumption is that the US will launch a full-scale nuclear strike on them. That’s why 90 per cent of NK is undergound in bases.
NK knows the dirty secret: its population is prepared for such an event and trains for it constantly. As for America, it is the country at highest risk in such a war. Its economy and society is not designed around taking such hits. Even one hit would bring the US economy to a halt and set off epic rioting and race war.
