While millions of people have been preparing for the possibility of a catastrophic event by relocating to rural homesteads or farms, as well as stockpiling food, water, personal defense armaments and other essential supplies with the intention of utilizing these preparations if the worst happens, the latest executive order signed by President Obama on March 16, 2012 makes clear that in the event of a nationally deemed emergency all of these resources will fall under the authority of the United States government.
The signing of the National Defense Resources Preparedness executive order grants the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense and other agencies complete control of all US resources, including the ability to seize, confiscate or re-delegate resources, materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense as delegated by the following agencies:
Sec. 201. Priorities and Allocations Authorities. (a)
(1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;
(2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;
(3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;
(4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;
(5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and
(6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials.
(b) The Secretary of each agency delegated authority under subsection (a) of this section (resource departments) shall plan for and issue regulations to prioritize and allocate resources and establish standards and procedures by which the authority shall be used to promote the national defense, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.
The new order provides specific definitions for each of these essential infrastructure elements, indicating that all resources, not just those owned by large farms and businesses, are to be directly controlled by the government. Thus, if you think the investments you made in digging a water well, building a solar array, or stockpiling food were for your own personal use, think again:

Sec. 801. Definitions. In addition to the definitions in section 702 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2152, the following definitions apply throughout this order:
(b) “Energy” means all forms of energy including petroleum, gas (both natural and manufactured), electricity, solid fuels (including all forms of coal, coke, coal chemicals, coal liquification, and coal gasification), solar, wind, other types of renewable energy, atomic energy, and the production, conservation, use, control, and distribution (including pipelines) of all of these forms of energy.
(c) “Farm equipment” means equipment, machinery, and repair parts manufactured for use on farms in connection with the production or preparation for market use of food resources.
(e) “Food resources” means all commodities and products, (simple, mixed, or compound), or complements to such commodities or products, that are capable of being ingested by either human beings or animals, irrespective of other uses to which such commodities or products may be put, at all stages of processing from the raw commodity to the products thereof in vendible form for human or animal consumption. “Food resources” also means potable water packaged in commercially marketable containers, all starches, sugars, vegetable and animal or marine fats and oils, seed, cotton, hemp, and flax fiber, but does not mean any such material after it loses its identity as an agricultural commodity or agricultural product.
(f) “Food resource facilities” means plants, machinery, vehicles (including on farm), and other facilities required for the production, processing, distribution, and storage (including cold storage) of food resources, and for the domestic distribution of farm equipment and fertilizer (excluding transportation thereof).
(i) “Health resources” means drugs, biological products, medical devices, materials, facilities, health supplies, services and equipment required to diagnose, mitigate or prevent the impairment of, improve, treat, cure, or restore the physical or mental health conditions of the population.
(j) “National defense” means programs for military and energy production or construction, military or critical infrastructure assistance to any foreign nation, homeland security, stockpiling, space, and any directly related activity. Such term includes emergency preparedness activities conducted pursuant to title VI of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. 5195 et seq., and critical infrastructure protection and restoration.
(n) “Water resources” means all usable water, from all sources, within the jurisdiction of the United States, that can be managed, controlled, and allocated to meet emergency requirements, except “water resources” does not include usable water that qualifies as “food resources.”
Additionally, like the Selective Service established to draft Americans into the military in the event of war, all Americans are automatically registered for the National Defense Executive Reserve, an agency responsible for identifying experts and skilled laborers for jobs that may need to be performed during a national security. That means your entire work history is now stored, aggregated and flagged in a national database and you can be called on at any time and forced into service for national security reasons at a government-run institution or labor camp:
Sec. 501. National Defense Executive Reserve. (a) In accordance with section 710(e) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2160(e), there is established in the executive branch a National Defense Executive Reserve (NDER) composed of persons of recognized expertise from various segments of the private sector and from Government (except full time Federal employees) for training for employment in executive positions in the Federal Government in the event of a national defense emergency.

(d) The head of each agency with an NDER unit may exercise the authority under section 703 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2153, to employ civilian personnel when activating all or a part of its NDER unit. The exercise of this authority shall be subject to the provisions of sections 501(e) and (f) of this order and shall not be redelegated.

Sec. 601. Secretary of Labor. (a) The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall:
(1) collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal of the Nation’s workforce needs for purposes of national defense;
(2) upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services;
(3) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order, consult with that agency with respect to: (i) the effect of contemplated actions on labor demand and utilization; (ii) the relation of labor demand to materials and facilities requirements; and (iii) such other matters as will assist in making the exercise of priority and allocations functions consistent with effective utilization and distribution of labor;
The EO also outlines compensation for resources and labor that may be seized by the government. Payments would be made debt receipts and overseen by the Treasury Department in conjunction with the Federal Reserve. Similar to compulsory eminent domain provisions, a government official would determine what your land, resources or labor are worth, and you would have no choice but to agree to that value:
Sec. 301. Loan Guarantees. (a) To reduce current or projected shortfalls of resources, critical technology items, or materials essential for the national defense, the head of each agency engaged in procurement for the national defense, as defined in section 801(h) of this order, is authorized pursuant to section 301 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2091, to guarantee loans by private institutions.
(b) Each guaranteeing agency is designated and authorized to: (1) act as fiscal agent in the making of its own guarantee contracts and in otherwise carrying out the purposes of section 301 of the Act; and (2) contract with any Federal Reserve Bank to assist the agency in serving as fiscal agent.
As of March 16, 2012, your land, your food, your water and your abilities as a laborer are now a wholly owned subsidiary of the United States government at any time they choose to initiate the provisions of this order, which according to the order itself, can be during an emergency or a non-emergency.
While some reports indicate that the general impact of this new executive order is negligible, when considered with the broader implications including the introduction and passage of laws allowing for the indefinite detention of American citizens without charge or trial, restricting the general assembly of individuals to protest, the establishment of an internet ‘kill switch’ contingency plan and jamming of all non-government communications, the existence of FEMA refugee and detainment camps, coupled with confirmations that the U.S. government is training members of the armed forces for domestic policing duties and preparing for economic collapse and civil unrest, this latest legislation may very well be the final nail in the coffin for American liberty as we have known it under the US Constitution.
When implemented simultaneously with existing laws and Presidential orders, the National Defense Resources Preparedness executive order establishes a clear chain of command and control over all aspects of American life in what can only be described as a police state under martial law.

Homeland Security is already currently meeting with the HAM radio clubs and advanced amateurs, according to a friend of mine who’s hard-core in the hobby.
FCC has the right to ‘inspect’ your station at any time it wants.
Having said that, I am studying to take the test and get my entry level Amateur Radio Serive license (Technician) this weekend.
It’s called SERVICE by the FCC because the government won’t let HAM guys use all that valuable bandwith for nothing: they are expected to help out during emergencies since the very beginning when licenses were originally granted. My friend owns and operates two solar powered 2-meter band FM repeaters and he *knows* DHS will ‘take’ his repeaters during an emergency. By ‘take’ he means use them but the way this works is that DHS would ‘ask’ my friend to ‘let’ them ‘use’ the repeaters while he is ‘in charge’ of maintaining them. It’s not like DHS is going to take away the rack and its contents, no! My friend, as a licensee in the SERVICE, would be required to maintain the facilities.
There is nothing wrong with getting a FCC Amateur Radio Service license. I have learned a lot from my friend and I don’t plan of rebelling against the Federal Government. The learning that goes on in amateur radio just means more power to you!

My stores confiscated by Obama? I doubt that’s the intent. Material during an emergency has always been subject to use of governmental bodies. As a history guy and vet I would feel it was our obligation to assist in any way the defense of our population. If indeed your stores were confiscated you would be given compensation by the Feds or whomever for any use of your property. I do have a problem though with the sweeping civil powers the Executive assumes under this proclamation. Thank God for the ACLU because I doubt anyone else would take this case on. I’m sure this order would not stand a Constitutional challenge in the Courts.

This is nothing new, and is not unique to Obama. This article is also quite inaccurate as far as the literal meaning of the order.
While this specific executive order is new, orders like it have existed for quite some time. I know you guys want to have a reason for hating Obama, but come on…Democrat, Republican…they’re all crooks. Reagan signed numerous executive orders that are far worse than this, and the wordage used was not at all vague. They flat out said that the federal government can take your home, vehicle, whatever, if they deem it necessary. It was all in relation to “REX-84”.
Executive orders are, in my opinion, unconstitutional, unless they pertain directly and exclusively to the workings of the executive branch. But alas, I am an original Constitutionalist, and a strong proponent of State authority and minimal federal powers (as outlined in the Constitution). So, quite literally, 99% of what the federal government does is unconstitutional. Even the beneficial agencies, if they delegate authority over the states, are unconstitutional (ATF, FBI, CIA, Dept of Energy, Dept of Education, etc). But whether they are beneficial or not is irrelevant (fruit of the poisonous tree theory).
The federal government has very quickly evolved into an evil regime. The Civil War was a good start for them. Remember, we were supposed to be a confederacy. Hence why we are called the “United States”, and not the “Federation of States”.

Thanks for this post. The wording of the Executive Order itself, as I read it, is in partial contradiction to the tone of this article – which seems to describe a threat of the government basically taking over everything for any reason. The Executive Order does place some limits on what the government can do, at least in terms of deploying or confiscating private property.
That said, it’s still a concerning piece of regulation. For starters, it expands the power and authority of the executive branch of the government – basically redefining what the Constitution says about the limits to executive power. Also, again as I read the Executive Order, it does say that under the right circumstances, anyone can be drafted into the service of the National Defense Executive Reserve. Until now, if someone objected to the actions of the government, they didn’t have to go to work for it; it appears that this no longer is the case.
Despite what can be viewed as a tone of hysteria in this article, the Executive Order still looks pretty disturbing. Even putting issues of personal rights aside, it very much reads like a wartime policy statement, and that has me very concerned about what’s planned, or at least anticipated, to happen.
I read it on the Government website. It doesn’t appear to be all lies to me. It reads pretty much the way it appears here. Do you need further clarification? Government can confiscate whatever it wants period. Anything they deem necessary and there isn’t anything you or I can do about it except leave the country.

First, I told you so. I’ll explain: The government will be going after the silos, the plants, and the big sources of, well, stuff. They won’t have the manpower or the resources (let alone the time) to chase down every last person who might have an extra can of soup in his cupboard.
However, this doesn’t mean you get to breathe a sigh of relief.
Second, to avoid attracting attention, well, don’t attract attention. Those dummies on “Doomsday Preppers” who show off the mountain of foodstocks and such they got laid up? I’m willing to admit a blind spot here, because when I saw those, I thought of something. While the national government won’t bother you, well, I bet that the local constabularies in their respective towns will concoct some “OMG we’ve been deputized by the gub’mint!” excuse to come and confiscate the stocks from obvious preppers. Oh, I know the response… “I got enough guns to fend off the entire Eighth Army!” Won’t do you any good. You’ll get a couple of ’em, but given a big enough group of hungry and deputized people bearing down on you, you’re boned if they know what you have and where you are.
Third – an idea: Without being stupid and showing off your stockpile (seriously? It’s stupid), find a small town, move into it, and get enough of your neighbors involved that you can, as a group, cut off the rest of the world if needed. For instance, I live in a small town. All we would need to do is to block/blow two bridges, and we’d be perfectly isolated for quite awhile. (Mind you, eventually any place can be reached, but then it becomes a question of resources spent getting there versus resources gained once you arrive. It’s also called a cost/benefit analysis. In the case of my little burg, the cost would be a mother, and the benefits? Outside of timber, there’s not really enough here, to support anyone not already living here.)

I have no illusions that there will be local teams that form up and become raiders. I sincerely doubt that they will all be specialized SWAT teams with scary-crazy tactics and abilities, however. Most will be rank amateurs at best, but with violent tendencies and hair-trigger attitudes.
There’s one more thing that gets in the way of your scenario: The more stuff and personnel such a team collects, the slower they are stuck with going. After a certain size, they won’t be able to get anywhere at all without breaking up. This limits the size of a group to anywhere from 12-30 people, maximum. Anything bigger and logistics gets in the way, especially over any long distances such as those found west of the Rockies, or in desert (or mountain) terrain.
I’ve covered a lot of this ground before… in some areas, such groups will thrive, but in others, they will have a very hard time of it, if not come apart or die in the middle of nowhere.

I would say you have nailed it. This has always been my belief that they would grab your kids at school and hold them until you turn in your guns and anything else they want, stop you at a random roadblock take your keys and go to your house and take what they want. they will already know if you have any registered firearms. Lastly the Patriot Act gives them the right to do a break and enter of anyones home and either take what they want then or come back later with a warrant. The big difference between Obamas latest Ec and previous ones which were very similiar is his does not require a national emergency to implement. OQ: You couldn’t have said it better. Showing off your stocks is just asking for trouble. As far as blowing the bridges, most military units have mobile bridges and most of their vehicles can ford streams or use of a Chinook Helicopter (used in Battle: Los Angeles) to ferry troops and equipment across. Another resource the govt has, most people overlook and don’t even know exist, is the State Defense Force. They are apart from the National Gd and are controlled by the governor.
I agree perfectly. There are bridging units and helicopters. The only questions attached to them are these:
* are there any helos nearby, and how much fuel would they eat?
* can they cross a dead bridge 200′ long and 150-200′ above a steep ravine?
* given the mountainous terrain I live in, landslides are quite common anyway, and can take days to clear out, even with specialized equipment. Imagine having to clear one out every two miles…
All said, it is certainly possible, and with enough effort and time, for those obstacles to be cleared. The question however is this: is it worth doing so? Would there be enough resources at the finish line to be worth the massive resources spent getting to it?
I contend that the answer would be a firm, flat, “no”. The reasons why are pretty simple:
* there are no resources here worth the massive investment in fuel, firepower, and time-based (food, water, warmth, etc) to be considered sufficient.
* in a situation of collapse, scarcity means that you conserve what you have, else you’re either going to starve/thirst/freeze to death, or be easy pickings for anyone else who is in better shape than you. This goes for armies as well as individuals. Further this means that the unit in question will have to really question whether or not to spend the time and treasure getting here, or if easier pickings can be had elsewhere, closer by.
This is where the whole cost/benefit analysis comes in that I mentioned :).

If it’s done in response to a reaction against an increasingly and obviously fascist government, then the best tactic would be to do it quietly – to slowly shut things down, make it look like natural events.
The primary reason for isolation isn’t the government, though – it’s to block off the hordes of humanity that will certainly come out of Portland and Salem. The governments (state and federal) will have a much, much bigger problem on their hands, what with rounding up ~2.5 million fleeing people scattered across the countryside (2m from PDX metro, 0.5m from Salem metro). That task would be a lot more important to them than in starting a dick-waving contest against a small town in BFE.
I agree with the all stand together,but, how do we get all together? That simply can’t happen without a whole lot of planning and communication which would cause a red flag to pop up and we would be shut down before we could get started. Best we can do is group together in small groups and stand as long as we can. Sounds bad,but,the only other thing we can hope to do is make those attacking us realize we are all friends and relation and not to harm our own, look at those who are giving the orders and realize this is and order not to obey. Would our troops join with foreign troops to harm and kill American people?

Regarding the “Third idea” If you’ve already made the stupid mistake of showing off your cache to anyone and everyone, because you couldn’t keep your fat mouth closed, because you and your ego are too stupid to be quiet. Then here’s an idea:
1. Make the cache you have, a dummy cache. One that’s visible and known to other individuals that you stupidly told about already. If you have 20 buckets of beans and rice, then remove the contents from 19 of the buckets to a new safer location (leaving the empty buckets in plain veiw where people already know they are and fill them full of dirt. The 20th bucket (still filled with beans or rice) is the one you always open up to keep showing everyone how stupid you are for showing off your cache to everyone in the first place.
In the mean time. Build your new cache (or if you have brains, more than one …..) where only you and those who are MEANT to know where it is, can find it!! And remember, if you have all your eggs in one basket and someone finds it, you’re screwed. So have your “eggs” spread out.
3 month supplies of food in 6 separate caches = 18 months of food. One cache in the basement. Two buried in water tight containers in different parts of the garden (with food growing on top of course!!) Anotherone somewhere else …. You get the idea.
Point is, if it’s a hassle to you to build several caches of food ect ….. It’s a hassle for others to search and find.
My worry would be, if the authorities came in and took my livestock!!! Once there gone, they can’t be replaced. So, how do you cache livestock!? And keep them safe from confiscation or worse still …. Extermination!! !The chickens, the pigs and the milk cow??? Bet that’s got people thinking now huh??
Most of us talk more then we should, but the best plans are small community based plans even if its just your street. The draw back is the show and tell. I’m not going to plan with you if you don’t have the stuff.
One of the problems for most people with the Dummy Cache is they don’t have a secondary physical location. So just moving the real stuff from one closet to the next won’t help much.
I’m blessed to have caches in 3 different cities and one mobile, but its also a logistics and rotation nightmare.

Prepping as a community is necessary, but it’s like dating: You have to show a little to get a little. Okay, bad analogy, but close enough to work. The trick is that you don’t give guided tours of your supplies, but you do let select and trusted people know that you’re preparing, and expect them to reveal enough of the same info to trust them any deeper than that.
IMHO, the ones who adamantly refuse to prep in your small community (neighborhood, town, whatever) leaves you two options: Come SHTF, you either remove them from the community (by force if necessary), or you stockpile enough extra to keep them alive for long enough to get them up to speed in the foraging/agricultural department.
It’s a big fat gray area though. That guy may not prep, but may be a damned good doctor. Any Christian knows (or should know) full well about the command for charity. Each situation will obviously be different, though IMHO I’d rather prep a bit extra for an unprepared doctor down the street, than even think to buddy up with Mr. Person (as mentioned in the article).
I was just talking to a military friend of mine who said all the people in his unit say they will not turn on the american public. I then explained how it would go down. That is, the gooberment would tell them “This section of people are rioting and we need to declare martial law and stop the rioting.” Little do the troops know that same order went out to the entire military about diferent parts of the country. They being good military personel would follow orders without question. By the time they realize what they just did the damage would be done. The question is how long before the police, military, and feds find out what is really going on and will it be to late to reverse? He got a scared look on his face, becasue he just woke up.
As a marine I was tought “instant, willingness, obedience to orders”. You trust in your leaders and just do what you are told. I say I would never turn my gun on the american people, yet my unit was on standby and ready to go into LA at the turn of Y2K to put down riots. Thankfully they never rioted. So I saw first hand how easy it is to get our good ole military or even our boys in blue to turn.
When it happens we can expect about half of the military siding with the people, essentially we will have civil war if and when martial law is declared by this illegitimate and unconstitutional government. The same can be said of law enforcement officers, there will be those who blindly follow orders, then there will be those who take their Oath seriously and defend the Constitution!

If I was dumb enough to take a photo of my diploma with my name on it, I would. I will say that I went to NC State University, class of 2010, and I graduated with a major in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in design.
There are many advantages/disadvantages of the two wing profiles, but the main difference is shock performance for flying at sound speed and beyond. No, I didn’t get that from Wikapedia. We can talk about Boundary Layer Theory if you want. Or better yet, Differential Equations. Maybe the Finite Element Method. Where did you go to school? I graduated from a major research institution. I got grants from NASA for my senior design projects. Oh yea, my best friend, who happens to be black, got a similar NASA grant and works for Eaton corp. My other college buddy just got his doctorate from Cornell free of charge…he’s black too.
Where do you work? What kind of educational credentials do you have? If a company never knew my race, I’d still get hired there. I am glad you didn’t get that info from Wikipedia, because it is not really a good answer. The point of a swept wing is to get an effective longer span for a given actual wing length. This gives you a slower maximum mach number over the span than you would have for the shorter effective span (straight wing). The aircraft speed can be faster while still keeping the max M on the wing below 1. I don’t think shock performance is relevant, as no straight wing fly supersonic to begin with (never seen one).
Anyway, engineer or not, I’d be glad to know that you know your stuff. This is from your 2nd comment (below): “If a company never knew my race, I’d still get hired there.” If that was the case, then you didn’t need AA, right? That contradicts your first comment above.

To avoid pages and pages of explanations and math, I’ll just point out that almost all modern transport aircraft all use the swept wing planform but never go near transonic speed.

In 1929, my grandmother’s family’s property was confiscated, and her parents were sent to the camp where they were killed by the government.
A 5 year old girl was out in the street, with nowhere to go and no one to help her.
Her own older sister, which was married and had a family of her own at the time, was scared to death and refused to take her little sister in… Yes, the times were that bad.
Eventually, complete strangers picked up the hungry dying child from the street and raised her with their own kids.
Until her death a few years ago, she considered that family hers, and those children her brothers and sister.
Like I said: I will not let this happen to my family and my kids, and I will either defend them , or die trying.

I traveled the country for many years and took as many backroads thru the REZs as possible. No one has been vacinated against smallpox since the seventies when the disease was declared eradicated. It was however but samples were kept in govt. labs for research. I have a Vietnamese friend who went through the re education camps and then like many fled as a boat person. One of the best people I have ever known. If Obama were to declare martial law, it would only be after a false flag event that would shift public opinion. In my estimate, at least one third of the population (if not more) would fall in line behind him- remember what has happened with other occasions in the past? Also look at the approval numbers that Obama is currently getting in the opinion polls.
Another third would be indifferent. All they would care about is their daily lives and finding ways to survive. These are the people who are just hoping it will all go away and return to normal. Also the people finding drugs or other means to zone out.
That would leave the rest of us. A group that would be scattered, uncertain of who to trust, and unsure of what to do. Indeed, this would be a major challenge.
Has anyone considered how easy it will be to determine who has food supplies? Allow the population to starve for three or four months. If you haven’t lost weight and you’re not one of the well fed elite, then it will be time for them to locate your supplies.

There is ample evidence that government controlled farms lead to starvation; just look at the collective farms in the former USSR which before the government took over were highly productive, but after the take over could not produce enough to feed their nation.

E.O’s are written and signed by Presidents: then they are sent to the Office of the Federal Register where it assigns the number: then it is printed in the Federal Register.
The process takes about two weeks. Looking at the Presidents E.O.’s for 2012 the Executive Order number should be #13603 or 4.
My question, will we see even more E.O.’s further expanding on the concept of expanded Presidential power
without the full role of the Congress in place??

They are bound by military law and we use civil law. Simular but different. There is no doubt they are sailing into harms way. They know that. If you ever seen the gear that comes up on a carrier and do not forget the battle group, you will see they are not defenceless. They honor their contract they signed.

You know what, Executive Orders are nothing but a license that allows dictator powers over the people. While there is “suppose to be” a balance of power that prevents a radical president from becoming a Vladimir Putin, Fidel Castro, Assad, Hussein, or that little prick in North Korea that just died, or even a Hitler, in the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch. Hey, “suppose to be”.
It is understandable that during a “true” crisis there has to be a leader that takes charge quickly to save the country from disaster. However, a president that knows that they are not going to be re-elected under any circumstance and is crazed with power can “wag the dog” and literally stay in power. Yes, during certain scenarioes the general election can be postponed or cancelled. Just basic logic says this if no one can get to the polls because of some type of catastrophe, means no election.
The real issue here is that it was never meant for one person to have this much power to abuse it. Executive Orders should have some sort of fail safe device in which it can be overridden, quickly enough to curb and stop some mad president from becoming a nice little tin horned dictator and retaining that power. In 1986, Maryland banned small, affordable handguns called Saturday night specials. Within two years, Maryland’s murder rate increased by 20 percent, surpassing the national murder rate by 33 percent. Then Maryland passed a one-gun-a-month law. Yet between 1997 and 1998, 600 firearms recovered from crime scenes were traced to Maryland gun stores. Virginia, one of only two other states with a similar law, ranked third as a source of guns used by criminals in other states.
On the other hand, New Hampshire has almost no gun control and its cities are rated among the safest in the country. Across the border in Massachusetts, which has very stringent gun-control laws, cities of comparable size have two to three times as much crime as New Hampshire.
Vermont has the least restrictive gun-control law. Texas is a good example. In the early 1990s, Texas’s serious crime rate was 38 percent above the national average. Since then, serious crime in Texas has dropped 50 percent faster than for the nation as a whole. All this happened after passage of a concealed-carry law in 1994.

Obama will arm his followers on the civilian level to be used as a bunch of “brown shirt” thugs to control the big cities first and will then “spoke and hub” this control mechanism to slowly work his way out to the “flyover” country/rural areas. We have precious little time to get our preps in place and our defensive teams mobilized. I find the discussion regarding the legislation that Obama signed on March 16, 2012 interesting. I had no idea out government officials had this much power.
In further research I found that Bill Clinton signed Executive Order 12919 on June 3, 1994 that looks almost exactly like the one that Obama signed on March 16, 2012.
I also found that Ronald Reagan signed Executive Order 12656 on November 18, 1988. It was an attempt to accomplish the same thing.
It really looks like to me that the house and the senate needs to pass legislation that prohibits Executive Orders and requires a full majority approval of both the House and Senate in order to use these powers. It appears as though we give the President way too much power.

Some history:
Jewish property was seized by the Nazis. Japanese-Americans had their personal property and business seized by the government. White owned farms were seized by the Zimbabwe government. Or was it allocated? I would be interested in seeing the laws passed to seize Japanese-American property. Was the word “seized” used, or the word “allocate”?
Another question: Does there need to be a declared state of war, as defined by the Constitution to put this EO into effect? Something else interesting: Recently, farmers has to fill out a mandated survey from the USDA. It asked a bunch of questions, mostly demanding that farmers disclose all assets, like farm equipment. A coincidence?

Generally you are correct but the US Military Regulars are insufficient in number to carry out the “mission” described above. National Guard and Reserves are far less likely to carry out “orders” to murder Americans wholesale. Law Enforcement are even more so. If such orders were given and troops disobeyed and were executed and news spread (and news must spread to make it effective) a rebellion involving real military forces such as the National Guard fighting Regulars would likely occur. US Soldiers refusing and in one case stopping wholesale civilian murder has occurred. Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson Jr flew flew his chopper between US troops killing civilians at My Lai preventing even worst carnage. At one point his door gunner was aiming directly at US troops intentionally.
I have little faith in the Regulars and Officer Corps but some in the National Guard and Reserve Forces to “do the right thing”.
Now if a virus gets spread “somehow” by the power elite and only the chosen were vaccinated that is far more likely to me: Oh, or the vaccination is the virus and the opposition gets exposed to it.

What grabbed my attention is that the Department of Defense (!) has been delegated authority over all “water resources.” That term includes ALL of the water in the land, EXCEPT bottled water. You will be able to pick that up at your local FEMA office.
They can’t stop the rivers from flowing, but look for detachments to be deployed to the dams, water treatment plants, navigable waterway chokepoints, water towers and reservoirs, and distribution control centers.

However, the limits set by previous administrations have now gone by the wayside. This is nothing new. I drive trucks and in the MCVSR book it says that in the event of a emergency, you are to report to local, state and or federal authorities to assist in operations. It also says it on some log books.
While I agree with a lot of what is being said, I need some ideas for my situation. I’m a retired Firefighter/Paramedic, but I have also become somewhat disable (6 back surgeries) in the past few years. I can still get up and around but limited to what I can do physically. I live in a small subdivision (in FL), no room for livestock. I don’t have the financial abilities to have another (bugout) location. I do have enough firearms to defend my wife and myself, and some room in the garage for food. I welcome some suggestions. Thank you in advance.
Make sure your vehicle is in good condition if you have to leave. Get some canned goods that you would normally eat and stock some water. Make sure to have enough ammo for a year of vigilance, whatever that means to you. Get to know the neighbors and decide who may be able to assist in local defense of the area. Find out what the neighbors do for a living, think about the skills there. Locate a defensible area near you for a community garden site. Make sure to have basic tools for garden and home. Maintain security by not blabbing about food, guns, etc. Get some oil lamps and lamp oil and wicks ASAP, and toiletries ASAP, then add to the food you started with on a weekly basis. Get to as many yard sales as you can, lots of good stuff there. Plan on family or friends needing to shelter with you, or having to go to them. Have a couple of spare guns if you can. Sell any oddball caliber guns and ammo, use it to buy .22, .223, 30/06,.308, 7.62×54, etc, calibers you will be able to stock up on for less money and availability.
Don’t forget to include items for trade and barter , A carton of smokes will get you a lot of the things you need . a quart of booze will do the same. extra ammo ditto, .22 or 9mm or 12 guage will work. and you can trade them for just about anything . do your best to join a group and work within that group for mutual support. Good Luck !

4th amendment is the Search and Seizure Law on military and Law enforcement. There must be probable cause for any seizing of property when a crime occurs.
@DTOM. Yes, the 5th amendment does have the protections for criminal charges, but this is not the only thing the amendment has. It ALSO has the “no taking without just compensation.” Read the Amendments a bit more slowly and you will find it.

Let’s also say that the “President” signs it into “law” and the Supreme Court upholds it when challenged. Is it law? No. Why? I followed the link to the Executive order text. I’m as suspicious as the next guy who follows this kind of thing, but I can’t see what the writer of this piece is basing his findings on. This is typical boilerplate for emergency procurement; not commandeering your property or labor. If we, as a group, want tobe taken seriously, we need to stick to the truth.

Building a civilian army, equal in strength to the current military, for use when civil disaster strikes (the reason offered)doesn’t “wash”. We already, in each State, have a National Guard who’s duty also encompasses this. I don’t see anyone in the medial questionning this. Strange.

The morons were the stupid dumb asses that allowed government(s) to assess property and school taxes. This stupid law was a hidden rip off of ALL – EVERY SQUARE INCH of the property in the US. The taxes are rent! When you “buy” property, you simply buy the right to use it! Stop paying rent on your “bought” property and they will throw you off and resell the right to use it to someone else…and they incorporated over 30,000 more laws into effect this year – 2013! We are all criminals according to the law and they can manipulate you and yours any time they wish and the law and order collaborators will tune a deaf ear while they ruin you…
I think the DHS/DOD/FEMA will shut down cell phones and/or jam and/or radio locate Ham Radio transmissions, GMRS, FRS, CB, and any other communication means for civilians. I think I need a radio scanner to monitor Federal and Local Police communications to know when their goons are coming to my neighborhood to confiscate my guns and emergency supplies and try to send me to the FEMA camp if I survive that. I need to know about what type of radio scanner to invest in and what frequencies and communication modes to monitor so I won’t be surprised by my door getting smashed down in the middle of the night. I found the Federal National Interoperability Field Operations Guide published by DHS that lists many of the communication channels but I suspect they do not publish the secret channels. Someone suggested to me on a RadioReference Forum that the DHS communication will be on 666.6625 MHz with digital encryption and even provided the encryption key. I have no way of verifying that. Either that person was spoofing me or he must be a DHS insider. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
