Scientists from the University of Colorado in Boulder are sounding the alarm that the Earth’s magnetic poles are showing signs of reversing. Although the pole reversal, in and of itself, isn’t unprecedented, the solar winds that would take out the power grid and make parts of the globe uninhabitable could cause widespread disasters.
The Earth has a fierce molten core that generates a magnetic field capable of defending our planet against devastating solar winds. This magnetic field is vital to life on Earth and has weakened by 15 percent over the last 200 years. This protective field acts as a shield against harmful solar radiation and extends thousands of miles into space and its magnetism affects everything from global communication to power grids.
Historically, Earth’s North and South magnetic poles have flipped every 200,000 or 300,000 years. However, the last flip was about 780,000 years ago, meaning our planet is well overdue. The latest satellite data, from the European Space Agency’s Swarm trio which monitors the Earth’s magnetic field, suggest a pole flip may be imminent. The satellites allow researchers to study changes building at the Earth’s core, where the magnetic field is generated. Their observations suggest molten iron and nickel are draining the energy out of the Earth’s core near where the magnetic field is generated. While scientists aren’t sure why exactly this happens, they describe it as a “restless activity” that suggests the magnetic field is preparing to flip.
The signs of the Earth’s poles reversing are also apparent to Daniel Baker, who says this would devastate the power grid. If a switch happens, we would likely be exposed to solar winds capable of punching holes into the ozone layer. In a new report, Baker, who is the director of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado in Boulder, claims if this reversal happens, it is likely to render some areas of the planet “uninhabitable” by knocking out power grids.
Baker’s comments were made in an in-depth Undark report written by Alanna Mitchell, who has a new book about the topic titled “The Spinning Magnet: The Electromagnetic Force that Created the Modern World and Could Destroy It.”
“The dangers: devastating streams of particles from the sun, galactic cosmic rays, and enhanced ultraviolet B rays from a radiation-damaged ozone layer, to name just a few of the invisible forces that could harm or kill living creatures,” Michelle writes.
“This is serious business,” Richard Holme, Professor of Earth, Ocean, and Ecological Sciences at Liverpool University told MailOnline. “Imagine for a moment your electrical power supply was knocked out for a few months – very little works without electricity these days.”
Researchers predict that in the event of a flip, every year a hundred thousand people would die from the increased levels of space radiation. Radiation at ground level would increase so much that some estimates suggest overall exposure to cosmic radiation would double causing more deaths from cancer. “Radiation could be 3-5 times greater than that from the man-made ozone holes. Furthermore, the ozone holes would be larger and longer-lived,” said D. Colin Forsyth from the Mullard Space Science Laboratory at UCL.

That’s the danger. While the flip is going on there will be times when the magnetic poles will be facing the sun and allow the cosmic radiation to come in. Twice a day bursts of cosmic radiation. Kind of like a micro-wave oven set to run for one minute every hour. Eventually your cooked.

But we have no idea when this cycle started, because this article is all based on hyperbole. Supposed science is just now even considering such events. So yeh, it could happen soon or Yellowstone could blow. We simply do not know although it is verifiable Yellowstone so bulging and the ring of fire is acting up all over the globe as well. So nobody actually knows for certain any of it, as we have only been able to watch such events in very recent times compared to the history or humans and the earth.
Either way I choose to be fit and string and enjoy it all everyday , today, for many reasons ! If it all blows tomorrow I will either survive because of my attributes or I won’t, simple as that. But I will know I enjoyed everyday and fought the good fight and did not live in fear like a whipped dog !

Well, we have been without power for 4 months and 11 days now and we have no idea when it comes back.
But we have not missed a thing because we were ready.

Heartless, indeed there has been previous pole shifts and it has happened about 9 times prior. It is NOT about all life being eliminated, it is about the normal cycles and moving events of the universe and cosmos constantly in motion on a grand scale and time line.
It is clear also that humans are very destructive and need to be thinned out occasionally. It has happened several times prior and will again for sure by natural forces. But rest assured there will likely be survivors as there always has been and I will surely be one, if it happens in my lifetime and I have many years to go hard if it plays out still. Every 6XXX years our Solar System passes through the Milky Way’s Galactic Plane. This plane has incredible gravitational forces, and when the earth passes through, the Oceans/Seas/Water is pushed to the Northern Hemisphere, causing a “Noah’s Flood” type event. The Grand Canyon was formed when the water backed up against the Rocky Mountains, then eventually eroding through the layers of rock. This might be a stupid question, but is the radiation only in the daytime? Or is it at night too? If only in the daytime then us night owls would be ok. And will the radiation go thro the roof into the house? Will we have to live in the cellar in the daytime or all the time?

And it is a fact the earths magnetic poles are shifting. and have been shifting increasing amounts lately. But its not a certain thing that there would be a flip or complete reversal. A reversal normally occurs over thousands of years. And If the earths core spinning creates the magnosphere. Just where is the source of energy coming from that makes the core spin? You cannott make something from nothing? (Well the FED created Digital dollars from nothing LOL) But the core does not make the magnosphere. The Sun directs radiation at the magnosphere and that is where the power originates that spins the core. The magnosphere holds earth,s organic life within the planet. And prevents other organic life from entering the earth. Apply logic .

Also, one thing about iron, when it gets hot it LOSES it’s magnetic properties.That’s how knife smiths know when to start forging. They touch a magnet to the hot iron. If it DOESN’T attract the magnet, it’s hot enough. I worked in a steel mill and molten steel is not magnetic. Whether it is spinning or not.

The other issue is we do not know when a new pole shift started as we have only been capable of even scratching the surface of observation in a miniscule time scale of recent events. So this could be well advanced. There is clear evidence that the actual magnetic poles have moved in just the last 100 years for sure. But we have no idea how much over time. It is likely just another cycle in the grand scheme of things in our solar system and universe ? No big deal, so enjoy the ride as we are all only renting when all is said and done !

The only effect we’ll see from a magnetic pole flip is our magnetic compasses will suddenly be wrong.
/archivist you are pretty much correct if the reversal is gradual over time. But a sudden flip like when you try to push opposing poles of two magnets together and let go and they turn and attach to each other. That would cause extreme crustal shifting of the Tectonic Plates and a huge world wide clatyclism that would be earthquakes floods, volcanic eruptions and weather anomolys.
Old Guy, all of that is possible, but nobody actually knows what could or would happen for sure. What we do know is that the earths surface has changed drastically over a long period of time and not all at once in various events. So it is always moving , just in slomo ! If the flip is gradual you have cold places getting warmer and vice versa. shifting shore lines. climate change. and so on. The deepest hole ever made in earth was the Kola Superdeep Borehole by the Russians, and that was only 12km deep. How do they know the earth has a molten core, and what about Admiral Byrd’s hollow earth ?
I don’t know what the core of the earth is made of or what it looks like. I do know this you cannot make something from nothing. and you cannot make something into nothing. that why perpetual motion does not work. Hello kinfolk, I’ve seen a few visions that have come to pass is why I share the following. I very vividly saw Revelation 12 in a vision before I even read or knew about the verse. It indeed describes a pole shift that is caused by Nibiru (red dragon, red kachina, planet x) due to Nibirus enormous mass and electromagnetic pull. The poles are shifting more and more rapidly each day. At a certain point (very soon) the poles will shift at light speed and will cause an evolutionary jump planned by the creator of course ?.
