    power-grid-attack

The entire Los Angeles metropolitan area and most of Southern California can expect blackouts this summer.

The power grid is under direct threat as a result of the unprecedented, but little reported, massive natural gas leaks at Alisco Canyon that was ongoing for  four months as an intense summer heat wave sets in.

    According to Reuters:

California will have its first test of plans to keep the lights on this summer…

With record-setting heat and air conditioning demand expected in Southern California, the state’s power grid operator issued a so-called “flex alert,” urging consumers to conserve energy to help prevent rotating power outages – which could occur regardless.

Electricity demand is expected to rise during the unseasonable heatwave on Monday and Tuesday, with forecast system-wide use expected to top 45,000 megawatts, said the California Independent System Operator (ISO), which manages electricity flow through the state. That compares with a peak demand of 47,358 MW last year and the all-time high of 50,270 MW set in July 2006.

That could put stress on the power grid, particularly with the shut-in of Aliso Canyon, following a massive leak at the underground storage facility in October [Editor’s Note: which was not stopped fully until mid-February 2016].

The large-scale natural gas disaster – which curiously escaped media frenzy and widespread environmental concern – has resulted in the shutdown of key storage facilities that supply most of the power for the southern portion of the state.

As summer demand for electricity to cool homes and businesses kicks into high gear, power plants are planning to shut down, with supply shortages triggering controlled blackouts and brownouts.

Reports say that “all customers” should expect to be without power a total 14 days – 2 weeks time – out of this summer. Some 21 million Californians stand to be directly affected:

All customers, including homes, hospitals, oil refineries and airports are at risk of losing power at some point this summer because a majority of electric generating stations in California use gas as their primary fuel. In April, millions of electric customers in Southern California were warned they could suffer power outages on up to 14 days this summer due to the closure.

    […]

Unlike some other gas transmission systems that can store large amounts of so-called linepack gas in pipelines, like PG&E Corp in northern California, SoCalGas cannot function with only pipeline or storage supplies.

Planned rolling brownouts have been done on a regular basis in Southern California since the days of Enron and the California energy crisis of 200o-2001, but the situation is getting more dire.

As demand spikes, customers can expect to pay more for electricity, even as supplies threaten to be cut off, leaving families, residents and businesses in the dark.

All this, as California’s historic drought problems continue to plague the state and restrict available services.

    As Tess Pennington notes:

This puts stress of the other electrical grids who then compensate for the loss of energy to that existing grid. When these events take place, there is an overwhelming increase of power in homes and commerce to either generate heat, air conditioning or electricity. When this need overwhelms the grid, the utility company intentionally “shuts off the power to an area in order to reduce the load on an electricity generation and grid. The utility company turns it back on, and then shuts the power off in a different area, with outages in any given area typically lasting 60 to 90 minutes, according to the California Energy Commission. This is a last resort measure of utility companies to avoid an even worse situation — a total power blackout.

Of course, there is plenty of room for unplanned blackouts as well, as an increasingly vulnerable power grid nears the perfect conditions for a grid down scenario.

In the worst case scenario, these massive power outages, particularly if they are sustained for longer periods (authorities estimate up to 2 weeks without electricity is likely, though not necessarily in consecutive days), could interrupt other vital services – including grocery deliveries, water, gasoline at the pumps, and even communications.

The larger question is whether or not they want the grid to fail.

It is simple economic fact that the power companies stand to make more money of a power shortages during a crisis than they do during abundant and cheap energy.

Homeland Security and other government agencies have been preparing in secret for a grid disaster for several years now

Former DHS secretary Janet Napolitano ominously warned ahead of the Grid Ex II multi-agency drill that an unprecedented collapse of the power grid is imminent, and could result from a cyber attack, an EMP or a massive natural disaster:

The outgoing Homeland Security Secretary has a warning for her successor: A massive and “serious” cyber attack on the U.S. homeland is coming, and a natural disaster — the likes of which the nation has never seen — is also likely on its way.

    […]

An electrical grid joint drill simulation is being planned in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Thousands of utility workers, FBI agents, anti-terrorism experts, governmental agencies, and more than 150 private businesses are involved in the November power grid drill.

If the power grid fails, a lack of electricity and food delivery are only the first wave of troubles facing the American people. Police could face major problems with civil unrest. Of course, there also would not be any electric heating or cooling, which easily could lead to many deaths depending on the season. (source)

It seems that it is a matter of when, not if.

That’s why having an off-grid, alternative source of energy is essential for any prepper or level-headed individual, though many communities are now discouraging solar by requiring that it be connected to the grid and regulated by energy companies.

At a minimum, with an admitted potential for two weeks with the light out, you should have a one month supply of food for your family, as well as basic emergency supplies (including candles, flashlights, batteries and other light sources).

    It is also prudent to:

    1. Follow energy conservation measures to keep the use of electricity as low as possible, which can help power companies avoid imposing rolling blackouts.
    2. Look into alternative power sources to supply your home with power.
    3. Have ways to prepare food off the grid.
    4. Keep your car tank at least half full because gas stations rely on electricity to power their pumps.
    5. Be aware that most medication that requires refrigeration can be kept in a closed refrigerator for several hours without a problem. If unsure, check with your physician or pharmacist.
    6. Know where the manual release lever of your electric garage door opener is located and how to operate it. Garage doors can be heavy, so know that you may need help to lift it.
    7. Keep a key to your house with you if you regularly use the garage as the primary means of entering your home, in case the garage door will not open.
    8. Have money on hand in case stores are not processing credit cards.

This isn’t just planning for the possible, this is planning for the inevitable, and even the California authorities admit it.

      1. I expect other areas will have the same

        • Of course this presents dire circumstances. But then California and the enviros there that stop anything and everything that might ease the strain on power supply and distribution have no one to blame but themselves.

Their chickens are coming home to roost.

          • Wilson
those chickens might be BUZZARDS, if you know what i mean!!

          • This website allows you to see in real time how many megawatts California is using and how many megawatts is being produced.

            http://www.caiso.com/outlook/SystemStatus.html

If usage gets very close to production, be prepared for the worst. At this time every thing looks good. We will know more as the summer progresses.

I like the Honda 2000i with the propane modification. You can still use gasoline but a 100 lb propane tank (25 gallons) on a dolly is much easier to deal with than five, 5 gallon containers of gasoline. The other advantage is propane stores forever.

            • >Red Leader< Where can I get the propane modification for that Honda 2000 generator. Thank you.

              {mm}

          • Way to go, CA. Do everything you can to prevent construction or upgrading of any power generating stations. The only solar systems I am interested in are off-grid.

            • SOLAR?
Uses what little water we have, to cool the stupid motors. And, what nut would want to attract the sun to the desert during a drought? I did not vote for the obomanation, and my neighbors didn’t either.

        • Two words: solar energy or: honda generators. The 2000i is only $999 and can be linked to another 2000i to create 4000 watts. $2,000 is cheap insurance.

And don’t forget the solar ovens !!! 🙂

          • Only In California
            .
            .
The Energizer bunny went to California, just to prove he keeps going and going…. But, apparently, he doesn’t.
Early reports claimed he short-circuited in the heat of the desert near Barstow. State climatologists say that’s unlikely, given that daily high temperatures have only reached the low 90’s..
Others said he’d been hit by a truck on the Santa Ana Freeway and turned into road kill. Cal-Trans (the state’s highway department, not to be confused with the gender-identity group of the same name) strongly denies this.
A few days later, a bay area man calling himself Zippy T-Bone said he’d seen the bunny on numerous occasions in the Haight-Ashbury district. During an interview with Channel 7 News reporter Janella Gonzalez-Martinez-Ramirez , Mr. T-Bone said, “I seen him over at the Mile High Smoke Shop just yesterday. The dude that owns the place says he’s a regular.”
The news interview was cut short however, when two men in lab coats escorted Mr. T-Bone into a van and quickly drove away. The Energizer Corporation flatly denies that their famous, fuzzy pitchman has ever visited the store. The news station’s reporter, meanwhile, left to search for more hyphens for her last name, so the un-aired story cannot be confirmed.
Latest developments into the whereabouts of the bunny took a strange turn this afternoon when a radical animal rights group claimed they’d had him in ‘protective custody’ since he entered the state.
The Leporidae Freedom League (LFL) said in a news release, the bunny was picked up at the Colorado River crossing near Needles and has been their guest for the past two weeks.
According to the groups vice president, QuackMoo Meow, “He’s in good health, his spirits are up, and he’s free to leave whenever he wants. He’s not our prisoner. Well, not really. We just thought it was our duty to save him from the blood-thirsty capitalist pigs who were exploiting him.”
Police swat teams have surrounded the groups headquarters and are attempting to negotiate his safe release.
Meanwhile, the Iowa Pork Producers Council has filed suit against the LFL, claiming defamation of swine in the groups statement regarding the so-called bloodthirsty capitalists as being pigs.

            • SmokinOkie, LMAO! That’s one of your best ever.

            • Yep it has been announced Oil may be back up to $90 a barrel by End of year. That’s Nice, if you like to be a slave and assraped daily. Glad to be off the grid here.

              ~WWTI…

          • Two problems with generators.

One, you need gas. Will gas stations have power? Just how much gas do you have to store, otherwise, to power two generators for two weeks?!

Two, So.The power goes out. You have generators. Most people will not. It is hot and people without such a backup will not have electricity, air conditioning, working refrigerators. Two weeks is a long time. Even the most even-tempered individuals will become “unpleasant”. BUT THEN THEY SEE AND HEAR IT. That one house. It has the lights on. They can hear the whir of generators and A/C condenser units.

Need I finish? TWO WEEKS. The possible BEST case scenario is that they just steal the generators. They have to be outside anyway. Otherwise the carbon monoxide fumes will become lethal to the persons inside.

As for solar – how many does a house require? Aren’t those systems mainly supplemental rather than intended to power the critical elements and appliances in the home? Where do you hide or conceal all of THOSE solar panels?!

            • I can keep a max of 45 gallons of gas around. Six red cans and a 15 gal dispenser tank, I average 35 to 40 gal. If I have notice the generators ten gallon tank will also get filled for a total of 55 gal.

My 4.5 KW portable generator runs on about five gallons a day with a well ballanced load. Longer if I ration. It will run the house plus freezer and fridge.

I do all my own mowing, maintenance and snow removal so I use a lot of gas year round. It does get rotated and I use gas stabilizer. If the SHTF the lawn won’t get mowed.

Part of my madness is to insure, if I must hit the road, the tank will be full and I will have anther 20 gal in red cans that would give me a huge range. Meaning I don’t need to stop at a station and I don’t need money. Food, water and fuel; I’m good to go.

I’m thinking gas stations are an easy place to get ambushed, or at least become someone’s mark.

          • DK, Generac makes an identical model (including the quiet muffler) for about half the price. I’m concerned about being able to acquire gasoline if the power goes out though. As an earlier comment stated, a propane attachment, which Generac does not have for the 2000 yet, is a good idea. I have a couple ways to get gasoline, provided station’s tanks have it, but it looks as though propane is the way to go seeing how it doesn’t go bad.

          • Acid: I see the demographics, low birth of whites, but women are more educated now (Born post ww2, not my parents generation) and want to work to be independent, have an income because no marriage is guaranteed to last forever, men die in wars, etc., raising kids cost a fortune (day care, cost of raising, no guarantee how they will turn out, etc) May be fine for the wealthier classes. Cost of living several said, is why they only had one ( or none, like us) These couples I know are now in their late 40’s and up and few seem to be struggling with debt. People make choices and I am a feminist in that women have a right to education , jobs and equal pay. The stigma of “just a stay at home mom” started in the 70’s and made many women feel low self worth by not drawing a paycheck/having a career. If America’s future is zero- zero anyway, why bother breeding??

            • I have to agree with you in what you say. Sadly since the end of WW2 we have been in decline on all fronts and there seems to be no moral or standard to stop it. Women who learn and desire to get a head have as much right as men, but what I do not agree with is how men in many examples have been taken from the equation. The point is that in this life if 2 people meet and find common ground they should as one build together for the mutual benefit of both. And your correct that no marriage lasts forever for various reasons, chiefly as we as people both male and female in our lifetimes evolve and change and not always on the same page together, and that I believe is an issue that could be resolved and has I am sure by many. Part of the problem with today’s debt is that it has under society been allowed to grow unrestrained on both sides of the equation, the consumer and those who create things like cars, tv’s ect…. the old mantra…..buy now and no payments for 6 months or a year.As to breeding, good point as why bring children into a situation we as a society cannot or in many cases choose not to control…….enjoyed your bit….thanks.30

            • Laura m:

Every Caucasan has the responsibility to perpetuate the white race by having at least two or three kids. Because people like yourself are now probably too old, it is up to the teens and twenty somethings to make up the slack. Those who have inheritable diseases, low IQ, or who are infertile can not and/or should not reproduce. As for the rest, get going. The white people need for high IQ mothers to throw out their birth control. Let their husbands bring home the bacon. Take care of the next generation. Being a homemaker is challenging and ultimately the most rewarding occupation. Yes, by all means, get an education. Homeschool your children. And continue taking classes because indeed, if your husband can not or will not support your brood; you may have no other choice but to return to working outside the home. However, this is only if there is no other alternative. Be nice to your own mother and let her help. It is easier to raise children when all the relatives stay close. Aim for six to fourteen. That is a nice family size.
In two generations we will have saved civilization from ruin. What could be more important? Nothing.

          • I was thinking China so missed an opportunity with their one child per family rule for the last 30 years.

The Chinese had the infrastructure, if they had just sterilized everyone with an IQ of less than 100, or anyone who was psychotic for the last 30 years, and let’s the rest have as many kids as they liked. The Chinese could have ruled the world within five generations.

          • You need to be killed off cause you type all in caps.

          • Acid:

Eleven year old girls are subjected to constant grooming via the music industry, movies, TV, magazines, and radio, and the public schools. They have it nonstop. They are taught that white men are cruel cowardly and effeminate. While men of color are brave, strong, and wise. By the time these girls of eleven become women of twenty-one they are either staunch anti-male lesbians, or manly heterosexuals, slutty submissive slaves to black men, or Christian fanatical nut cases. Women are by nature attracted to strong men. This fact of nature has been perverted through subtrafug.

Stop calling women names and learn to appeal to their primal instinct to be protected and appreciated. Beneath the confusion is a kind and moral woman.
An overweight lady will never loose weight for a man who calls her a fat pig. But watch her head for the gym when she meets a good looking guy who tells her she is beautiful. The same goes for every other aspect of the feminine mystique.

You attract what you put out. If you want a kind woman stop being such a mean dude. If you want a morale woman stop shopping for one at a sleazy bar. Remember, like good men, good women have many potential suitors. You will have to compete. Are you ready to manup. Nobody said it was going to be easy.

        • Power outages in the Big Cities will be lethal after a few weeks. The looting, raping and killing will become a daily common event in these areas. Food and gas shortages will raise the threats big time.

Get out of the Cities, and off the Grid. No Brainer if you love your yourself and your family.

          ~WWTI…

          • Agree, and leave California and other risky areas now, get out folks asap. Big cites should be avoided in general, some worse than others for crime like Chicago, Tampa, etc. Florida is another high density/hi crime state ( wall to wall people) which is why we moved one state up thirty some years ago.

            • Laura, Most all of Florida’s Populations live on the coasts, in Tampa, Miami area, Jacksonville, and Orlando which is inland. Orlando is mostly worker bees and tourists, that get eaten by alligators. Out here in the vast country, not too many people and the smell of freedom is every where. I caught a nice Ft long Bass out of my lake today. Catch n release. Nice to know they are there if protein is needed. I was also told the best tasting part of the Gator was the meat in the Jaw area, sweet meat. And a new pair of boots.

      2. “Know where the manual release lever of your electric garage door opener is located and how to operate it. Garage doors can be heavy, so know that you may need help to lift it.

Rules for Yuppies. You have to be shitting me.

        • rellik

I bought a one year old rear bagging self propelled Lawn Boy mower that had a stretched throttle cable as the previous owner, some MBA banking type probably hit it with his weed whacker. He wanted $50 and my wife offered $25. He was not only incapable of fixing it but was incapable of diagnosing the problem, I shit you not. He said, ” the motor thing doesn’t work”. They had a 4000 sq/ft (or greater) mc mansion and probably then hired a lawn service.

If it wasn’t going to be so bad watching some of this would be funny.

        • If your springs are wound correctly, it should be a one hand lift.

        • “Garage doors can be heavy, so know that you may need help to lift it.”

Oh baloney…..any spring operated door will lift easy as long as the springs are correctly adjusted. The problem is many doors with electric operators get out of adjustment, and the opener motor takes up the work the springs should be doing, and you don’t find this out until you disconnect the opener and try to lift it by hand.

Solution: Disconnect the opener and try to open by hand. If it takes the effort of more than one hand, have the springs adjusted or replaced.

Or you can wait until a power failure and figure it out the hard way.

          • Pull the red cord… and lift. Man, we are so helpless.

        • I completely thought the same thing! What kind of moron can’t open their garage door manually? Well, that would be the same type of moron that has to call 911 because she locked herself in her car and is unable to get out. Another funny thing is electric can openers. Who doesn’t have a manual can opener? Those electric ones suck! But there are honestly people out there that have canned goods on hand that will starve because they are too stupid to open their cans of food.

      3. Why do I don’t care?

        • Anon, most likely because it’s Cali. I sympathize with the good people who have lost power, but the libturd morons…..NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

          • Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein.

That is what I associate California with. Not good vibes.

            • Please add to your list Gov. Moonbeam.

              • Black Heart

Gov. Moonbeam can do what he wants and the people of California can deal with him on a state level.

Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein have influence over the country by being in Congress. To me they are Royal Dingbats. Now if Moonbean said for all Californians had to bark like dogs to vote. That is your problem. For the Three Witches to tell the country to do it. That is another story. And those three are worse than Damn Yankee’s, and the good people of California are paying for mistakes of others. Same damn shit in Florida.

                • Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein are so busy trying to shove gun control down the throats of the rest of America, they wouldn’t notice if California fell into the ocean, and all their constituents died!

Them three are nuttier than squirrel shit that fell out of a tree onto a picnic sandwich.

      4. I predict other states will do the same, nice little way to get people to vote for more “infrastructure” spending.

        • Actually “The Grid” is not public but privately owned. Its unreliability can be traced back to the deregulation craze in the late 1970s onward. At one time the power companies were highly regulated private companies. They approached the Public Utility Commission showing a need to upgrade this and that in either generation or distribution. The rate increase was granted and there was sufficient funds for the upgrade. PURPA came in and forced the companies to compete with pure generation companies which were allowed to build and phase in their power to the grid. The public utility companies had a difficult time raising generation rates so corners were cut on upgrades in distribution. There was a lot of fat with years of virtual “cost plus” upgrades that was cut into. The deregulators used the lower cost to tout their idea. Unfortunately the rubber is meeting the road as the fat is virtually gone and with it redundancy and reliability.

Electricity, Water and Sewer are too important to be left to the whim of bean counters and short term market forces.

          • You meant they’re too important to be left to the devices and corruption of government.

      5. This looks suspicious… no power.. no ebt either… really hot out, tempers flare… look out… riots ahead.. oh darn i guess obammy will have to send in troops to keep order…

      6. Why all the fear of blackouts. Jeez it’s not the end of the world. It’s a good opportunity to do some work around your house because you won’t be online. Split some wood do things. Most people will fruit out not having their face fuck and boob tube. I can think of all kinds of stuff to do. Look they will work like slaves to get the grid back up and running. They can’t charge your bill if the meter isnt turning. I wouldn’t have electric if it was up to me but wife won’t do it. I’m at work all the time so why pay for electric. Probably could get by using a generator on the weekend.

      7. No Problem. Californians glow in the dark from the Fukushima radiation. Jump in the Pacific to recharge.

        • That’s a great flashlight you have there fella? Just a grouper I picked up at the market. Lights the way home, then you can eat it for dinner, cool huh! Yeah man can’t get greener than that!

      8. and???

      9. If they blow their flux capacitor it could be disastrous. The flux capacitor requires 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power to operate.

In a flux catacitor failure this could all go to grounded, and since California is not well grounded in reality, it could cause a shift in the temporal reality at the Hotel California where millions of people who checked in, but can never leave will finally be able to check out.

Imagine the crisis of millions of Illegal Californians trying to cross the border into the rest of America.

        • PTP,
that brought out a chuckle from me! need a sense of humor these days and sometimes is very hard to come by!!

        • PTPO: The Mohave and Sonoran deserts are great filters. Work better than a Berkeley. 🙂

        • If any of those cali libturds showed up in my family’s area, well…..wildlife gotta eat too. LOL!

          • Another threat by braveheart. I guess I will go back to sleep.

            • Tunckuf, that’s the first good idea you’ve come up with. Yes, go back to sleep.

        • @Plan twice, prep once Your input had me in stitches!

      10. The government says it’s coming. Well hell yeah they should know because they planned it. What a gross greedy bullshit system. There should be vast acreage covered with solar power production, nearly free power from the sun. Duh, you stupid freaking greedy moneybaggers. This should have been long established, mostly cloudy areas to get surplus power from stored power in sunny states. Don’t tell me it’s not feasible because common sense says it is total logic. Get rid of the overtly evil and highly dangerous nuclear power, industry, the Earth destroying fossil fuel abomination greedy morons and release the shackles upon humanity. Like a dream.

        • aljamo

The Achilles Heel is not generation but rather distribution. See my other posting.

        • The vast acrerage of the Ivanpah solar array in the Mojave has not met expectations.

      11. East Los Angeles, two weeks without power, dark. The government determines the “need” to legally carry a firearm as the 9th US Court of Appeals that just so coincidently covers that area has ruled a few weeks ago. Having to travel into or live in a dark, high crime area is not a need, being a professional actor and or being wealthy is.

Is the phrase, “Shall Not Be Infringed” not in the English language?

        • Everyone literally get ready for war

        • on My Email emergency weather alerts I get…Just got a News alert email message.

That News alert says..”US Supremes Court has Just Rejected to hear the Case brought by Pro-Gunners et al in New York and Conn. States…A Case the pro gun community of both states wanted us supremes to declare that last summers “Assault Weapons Ban” done away with.

Sooooo…It looks like NY and Conn Bans on such rifles is going to remain Law in each state eh.

This is what’s Radically Wrong headed with the typical NRA Posture of Always telling pro gun folks and nra members the best or even Only choice is to..”File a court Case based upon 2nd amendt rights etc”

NRA uses that as a wedge issue to get support for neocon repubs mainly…However so far most of the repubs usa prez’s Picks for us supreme justices has Failed miserably.

Current repub apointee Roberts?…FAIL!…Prior apointees by various past repub prez’s?..Partial or total FAILS!

Maybe a Better NRA solution need be considered by those High Paid leaders at nra eh?

Yeah so what happens when too many aka a majority judges are also antigun eh NRA?

And when it is the us supremes ct the NRA nor any private citizens or groups go ANY Farther!

Other than perhaps try to get a majority of pro gun polititions elected at state level as well as Fed level.

Well so far That too has failed badly, but for a few still pro gun states eh.

Plus now with the worst ever rates of faled voter counts and outright swindled away elections by crazed for power type polititions, advice to vote for better pols is simply ludacris and abject waste of time and cash.

READ the Letter to NRA by Edwin Vieria at newswithviews website he wrote a week ago…A letter of advice to NRA to Get a solid Plan going to Rejuvinate every states Citizen Militia and his several reasons as to Why it Is a MUST do agenda…Mainly being that a true militia of citizens Must be done as Per the US const Clauses dealing with a militia period…Otherwise private militia’s actually have zero real “Teeth” Nor true legitimacy if not done as Per us const clauses dictate it to be done.

Very great 2nd and Militia info by Edwin folks!! Hes probably americas foremost authority/knowlegde on both issues today. Check his personal Bio at bottom of his articles at that website, look at his massive several volumes sets of several Books on issue of 2nd amendt and citizen militias of several states per us const dictates etc…and a couple multi volume sets of books on Money and fed reserve issues too…Plus he had won most of the 27 us supreme ct cases he had too.

Edwin Vieria is one Very very smart man all folks here should read…He dispels many Myths so many pro gun folks have on Militais and their Leagality etc.

in that Letter to NRA Edwin questions nra board directors as to Why do they Always disregard the First part of the Entire as written 2nd amendt? And Writes on the vast importantce of where the 2nd reads “Being NECESSARY to The Security of a Free State” part of it.

There is NO other place within ALL three founding usa documents, aka us const+BOR+Declaration of Indep. That those words of “necessary to security of a Free State” have been written!…Which shows how Vastly Important those wordss really are if we wish to Keep America Free and Secure!…just READ HIS articles on it all please!

And understand the Real True reason and Meaning of the 2nd amendt as written in its entire whole.

A Citizen Militia of Each State are to be THE Main “Policemen” for lack of better term…

Three Main duties are listed in us const clause for state Militia to Perform as its prime objective duty.

#1 Enforce Laws…#2 Stop Insurections (aka Riots like afrcian savages does when loot and burn cities etc)

And #3 Militia exist to HALT invasions! aka like Masses of Illeagles entering usa from mexico border regions!!!!

Edwin also did an article as an Open letter advice to Trump to Imeadiatly upon sworn in as next usa prez and as trumps very First job to do, to RE-institute the usa const militias of each of all 50 States! ASAP #1 issue trump MUST perform as His prime duty to maintain americas safty and Security etc! Edwins a very smart Man.

          • Justice Roberts decides which cases the Court will hear. Perhaps he put these cases off for another day because he knew we would loose them without Scalia. Gotta pick your battles wisely.

      12. Bullshit

      13. CA. starting to sound more and more like the Socialist Workers’ Paradise of Venzuela, isn’t it!

      14. Here on top of this mountain, 14 days without electricity is a normal summer/winter storm. We probably wouldn’t even notice it much. Them there high falutin’ Hollywood types are gonna die. Bahahaha… and they laughed at us preppers. And no guns …again I say bahahahahah.

        • The mega rich hollyweird gang will rush to buy back up generators, and then lecture the peons about saving the planet.

          • If they can find any. That’s how it is everywhere when the power goes out. After the power goes out THEN they decide to buy generators. I sometimes amuse myself when our power goes out by going to the local Harbor Freight and watch the idiots fight over the last 500 watt generator…or to the grocery store to watch everyone panic over the last 2 loaves of bread and gallon of milk. Ahhh, the things I do for entertainment and to keep myself amused.

      15. Disregard the government.

        • 100% agree.

          Kiss my fùcking asshøle gov

        • Under the above circumstances its ridiculous to be so law abiding to get killed in the process. If you left your home (if somewhat secure) unarmed under the above your trained like a pavlovian dog. Unfortunately if you used a gun to defend your life the aftermath would probably put you in poverty for life.

      16. Grid down?

        Hell yeah , lets go!!!

      17. hate to burst everyone’s bubble

” Despite losing money every year under Trump’s leadership…”

        • Satori: would you rather Trump got his Jet 100% scott Free from Israel and new york HQ jewry like pastor Hagee and Fallwell both did?

Gee wonder what those Two pastors had to agree or promice to do for Dual citizens here and zios There eh?

          AIPCA and CUFI perhaps? Bingo!

At least Trump unlike them pastors sez he desires LESS or ZERO more mid east Wars eh….Hagee and fallwell et al most of them types Foam at Mouth for more mid east wars to benifit Israel and wall street zios, and of course also to foment WWIII aka Armageddon so to “Speed up Jesus’ Return”!!…As…If….Eh!

      18. In the end what we’re witnessing is a sometimes gradual and sometimes accelerated drop in the overall standard of living. A cut here, no gym class because of budget, a cut there, less money maintaining the grid. Private cuts, public cuts, cuts none the less. The root cause? Globalization as the haves, US, Europe, Japan get drained to facilitate a rise in the have nots. Who is causing it? Communists? Russians? Nope, mega wealthy capitalists that abandoned capitalism with its competitive roots who have morphed it in a hybrid fascism / crony capitalism using it with elements of communism to control the masses by dependency. The wild boar, given time and feed became the domestic pig, some bird the chicken, we’re no different in their eyes. The masters and the mastered.

        • Kevin2: Correction..”The Master Race Vs the Goyim” that will Fix it for you!

      19. The natural gas leak was fully the fault of corrupt politicians, their cronies and Occidental Petroleum as reported in the current issue of Earth First! Journal.
Governor Moonbeam fired two state regulators who told OP the storage facility could not be used. OP LIED about safety and the facility being sealed properly in years past, which it never was. OP attorney, recalled ex-governor Gray Davis, called Moonbeam and told him to fire the people standing in the oil giant’s way. They were replaced by an oil company bootlick who approved the use of the facility. The resulting blowout sickened thousands and caused one of the worst environmental catastrophes in history. Thousands will die of cancer from exposure to toxic gas (methane turns to formaldehyde in the atmosphere) in the years to come. Thank the Demorats and big oil for this mess.

        • I don’t believe anything written by the Earth First eco-terrorists.

      20. It’s the first trial of stage 1 of the purge

      21. I posted on another thread about how they could & likely would implement fake power shortages. They can kill off lots of people by cutting the power off. of course the shadow government and nuke plants will still have electricity.

      22. Have family out west, like their beaches and fast pace,I guess.Tried to worn them years ago, thought I was,am,crazy!
I’ll keep my slow paced country life thank you
        Maniac –out

      23. Having personally witnessed the watts riots and the ensuing riots that came after Rodney king verdict what happened then will be a walk in the park compared to what will happen if the power goes out. The powers to be stated up to so many days the power will be down, what happens in certain areas if the power goes out and the ebt cards can not be used. I witnessed the stupid gas rationing of the 70’s and imagine if they can’t get the fuel and food they demand hell will break loose.

Riots, looting, anger directed at one group of people or another will flourish in short order. Those stupid suggestions simply show the stupidity inherent in those that write these articles as to how people actually react. I though Salvo had more sense then giving out such tepid and mundane suggestions. God help those in areas where the power is out more than a very short time. It will become a war zone.

The real root of the problem is the demonrat and rinos in the infested capitol in sacramento (such contempt that they don’t deserve a capitol S). They have bungled everything for so many years in the name of this bug, that fish, that scrub tree, this lizard and the promotion of fat cat scum that sits atop of skyscrapers and doles out the money to control regulation. Hate to say it but Karma is a bitch and about to unleash on the residence of that state if the power goes out.

      24. no shortage.. CA ISO. available 54000mw demand. 46000mw…..bs fear porn.

        • And there was no shortage of gas back in the 70,s? think about it. There could be ample supply but none coming to the substations.

          • Google CA ISO… There is plenty of power. I was a contributing operator way back when.

      25. Makes you kin6d of miss the coal powered plants dont it. Imagaine record heat, no street lights, no EB%T cards, no gasoline no water electric pumps, Instant caveman conditons with all the illegal sweeties and convicted felon6s in So Calif. Death a million times over in all its forms. Stock lots of ammo as well as axes for hand to hand fighting. They will be comin6g for you folks

      26. Let us all Hope that if it entails Massive LA Kalif Riots and ends with Millions of Browns Vs Blacks deaths?

Hope that America don’t experience any Shortages of African savages or Mexican illeagles!

I’d like to see that yutube guy who interviews idiotic libs on the street with questions on the BOR and USA Const issues etc…

Like to see him do a yutube video where he asks the question of..”Yes or No? Are you worried of a potential future Shortage of mexicans or negros within America”

I can just picture the facial expressions on such folks as he asked that.

      27. Gas leaks or have they been fracking ?

Looks to me like these power cuts will be somehow linked to power prices going up like we have seen before but don’t ask me how high drinking water prices will go as the fracking chemicals are found to have leaked into the underground water tables.

Power cuts are good for stopping people and making them think a bit more than they would overwise do.

      28. Isn’t California where they make Froot Loops? I don’t think any of us is gonna have any expectation of reliable power in the future. Obama killed the coal mines and the gas power plants that we have around here can’t handle the load. Coal was the king of power. It put so many people to work and a big trickle effect on jobs too. I have worked for companies that attend meetings with power plant bosses. It’s coming folks. The transmission lines are old, they are shuttering once productive coal burners , and skimping on maintenance big time. We are way too dependent on electric. And I don’t wanna hear the tree jugglers talk about solar and wind. They have no idea the natural resources it takes to make solar and wind tech. It’s pollution to produce something to not make pollution. Until we all wanna go back to living like the Indians in tee pees or sod houses , they can shut the hell up. A lot of the us is just not feasible for alternative energy. Period.

      29. They gotta collapse the grid so civil war will be ushered in and gov can declare martial law. Then they will send in the goon squad to collect up food guns pm’s. They will collect all this stuff up for redistribution so we are all equal guns they will keep and metals too. They will claim civil asset forfeiture in the name of any small illegal thing you might be doing. They will do this its part of the plan to bring in the nwo. All you hard talkers from the gun range will have your oppertunity you better not wimp out and run. I know you will. That’s why I’m willing to go it alone if need be. Anyone comes to my place with an aggressive posture will be viewed as hostile and delt with as such. I won’t run from everything I built. Bugout isn’t an option. stand your ground folks.

      30. Ted, ROTFLMAO! Yes, Cali definitely has own their own fruit loops, LOL.

      31. I’ve always loved visiting California. Great climate, beautuful views. Carmel and Monterey come to mind, as well as the wine region of Paso Robles. It always begs the question to me, how such a state so rich in natural resources can be so mismanaged as to have mandated rolling brown or blackouts. Shoot, I’m from the backwoods swamps of Louisiana and we never had to do that! Back during the last spate, post Enron- I was in Tahoe listening to a massage therapist tell me how Swarzenegger had screwed up Ca. So they dug up Jerry Brown, who shoukd get together with Fidel Castro and talk about old times instead of trying to run a state.

      32. Many power companies have load management systems that kill the power to a/c units to prevent brown outs during peak hours. If done properly, it is hard to notice.

        • After clearing and picking up fallen limbs at the BOL for a year and more. I have a few huge piles of timber wood, stick, branches and tree limbs. Its will all make great fire starter if I really want to conserve on my fuels. Just load up the wheel barrel and go to the fire ring. Many people just burn huge piles of brush to get rid of it. I have room and its staying. lol And I am going to use some of the wood to make a fire and a great meal out of the Lodge Cast Iron. Brush piles will also attract birds and insects and its is a buffet for wild life. When the Red Headed wood Peckers start picking away on dead trees, it sounds like African Jungle music beating on logs. Its natures poetry, Enjoy. This weekend is scallops season in the gulf. Kayak to the Gulf grass flats and snorkel down. Get a bucket and steam them hot melted butter, delicious.

          ~WWTI…

      33. Earthquake activity on the San Andreas. Soon. Call off the election.

      34. The article says:

“It is simple economic fact that the power companies stand to make more money of a power shortages during a crisis than they do during abundant and cheap energy.”

It should be noted that in the People’s Republic of Kali no energy is abundant or cheap. The state has done all it can to prevent new power plants from opening. Laws have been passed to require more and more energy to come from expensive, unreliable, and intermittent forms of renewable energy. The liberal communist environmentalists have made sure that energy is expensive in Kali.

      35. Fear mongering and nothing more. 45,000 megawatts is still 5000 megawatts less than was used at peak during 2006. Fear Mongering will not make us buy gold and silver. This shft stuff cannot be made to happen. Absurd.

        • Yes it can be made to happen. If they decide to on purpose turn off the electric to a certain area or a certain group that can be easily done. turn everyone off except the countinuation of government shadow government and claim it was a EMP. There are some really evil folks in positions of power. I wouldn’t be surprised at anything they do.

      36. California struggles to keep up with demand even though there’s 10’s of thousands of vacated industrial buildings running no light’s, computers, machines and air conditioners. What the hell would they do if jobs where to return. California’s just another example of a failed democrat controlled run into the ground success.

      37. Some people don’t know about what is called a pigtail . If you put two male ends on an extension cord . 10/3. 12/3. Best. Plug into generator then plug into any outlet in house. Best closest to a/c or heater fan. It will power whole house. Best to turn off main breaker. Or neiborhood get some of your power.

        • that info you just gave is so fucking careless. You must have a transfer switch, or at least disconnect your feed wires. Also, when the power does come on, if the genset is running, with the breaker closed, it will become a grenade, killing you, or unfortunately a family member.

      38. Get yourself several L.E.D. flashlights because incandescent bulbs burn out fast. As a full-fledged flashaholic (don’t laugh, we light up the world, LOL) let me make some recommendations:

        – The Nitecore Tube, $9.99, rechargeable battery, best to put it on your keychain or better yet on a lanyard, it’s great for children to wear on them in the event of a blackout; watch it light up your whole bedroom when it is completely dark;
        – The Lumintop Tool, small AAA light, good brightness, about $20. from Amazon;
        – Fenix D25A, fantastic single AA battery light with mulitiple modes;
        – Waka Waka Power: recharges in the sun AND it recharges anything (like a cell phone) you hook a USB cord to AND it provides excellent illumination;
        – Energizer makes a green band 200-lumen Headlamp that can be dimmed and wearing a headlamp of course frees up your hands to get to your BOL in a hurry;
        – Grab yourself a very good Solar Panel from Suntactics or Aspect Solar as well as Eneloop rechargeable batteries (AA and AAA) because your Alkaline batteries will not last terribly long with prolonged usage and you need not only rechargeable batteries BUT ALSO a way to recharge them with the sun!
        – XTAR makes excellent devices to put your batteries in which you connect TO the solar panel to power it; without such a device, your solar panel will not recharge any batteries;
        – Keep a light in your dashboard and be sure to use LITHIUM AA or AAA batteries in the cold of winter since Alkaline batteries often do not work in the cold.

Train your family members what to do in the event of a power outage and insist everyone keep all flashlights either in a central location or in the top drawer of their dresser so they know where to retrieve it in the dark.

I’m not a fan of candles because of fear of fire but one lit candle properly secured in a small room can help heat that room.

Let me be clear: buy these or whatever L.E.D. lights you desire NOW; buy the batteries and other equipment as described above NOW. Yes, secure some in a Faraday Cage, and YES, HIDE some in one or more caches.

As we flashaholics say, 2 is 1 and 1 is none, so be redundant with lights and batteries.

Light and sources of light will be highly coveted when they kill the power grids so use dark curtains so you don’t invite an attack when you have to be covert.

On the other hand, let your light and lights shine– the world NEEDS LIGHT– PLENTY of it!

The only two ways to win when the SHTF is first, to pray continuously, every day, and get right with God each day, and two, to out think the evil guys as much as you can AHEAD of time, NOW, and think like them and what YOU would do if YOU were evil, and prepare accordingly.

Sun Tzu said, “The best battles ever won were those not even begun”.

Amen! Don’t aim to fight, aim to survive. And we all know what survival requires with multiple threats. So get yourself lit up. Be the light of the world.

        God bless you all.

      39. It all boils down to greed.

I remember back in the late 1990’s over a 2-yr period when they had constant brownouts and rolling blackouts. I lived just south of San Francisco then, about 25 miles south. They would randomly take an entire section of town down for a 4-hr period, usually in the early evening when families were home. Very inconvenient and dangerous too.

It seems that they’ve done everything they could do to gouge the public, including claiming shortages so they can gouge/raise prices. The cost of greed is unimaginable.

      40. Just FYI you’re all lumping all of California into the same pot… Northern California is night and day different from southern… Most of us would say bring it on… We have frequent power outages due to weather… We are not like the rest of the sheeple living in the middle of a desert with. No water of their own…let Los Angeles burn nothing lost

      41. This is a genuine concern of mine, and has been for some time. Our family was stationed in California twice, and lived through earthquake scares, wildfire emergency evacuation etc in addition to living within proximity of an ageing nuclear facility (San Onofre).

Unfortunately, we have an adult daughter who still remains in California due to work commitments, although she is relocating out of the state this summer – we are concerned about her emergency plans and preps. Earlier this year I helped her prep a month’s work of premade, precooked pressure canned meals in mason jars so she won’t have to rely on refrigeration if the power does go out (they already experience significant ongoing “brown outs” in her area) and they are easy to reheat by immersion in hot water.

I wrote this post based on a Reader’s request of my own experiences learning how to pressure can with some free resources for those who are interested in reviving this prepper skill:
        (can like your Grandma!)

I hope this inspires others, as not everyone is in a position to immediately relocate and needs to make emergency plans appropriate for their particular location.
