ONE OF HISTORY’S MOST EXTRAORDINARY PARADOXES IS THAT A FAILING SYSTEM OFTEN LOOKS STRONGEST JUST BEFORE IT BREAKS!

Before a political order collapses, it can become MORE AGGRESSIVE, MORE RADICAL, MORE CENTRALIZED, and seemingly MORE POWERFUL than ever before!
And that is precisely why I believe the progressive-globalist movement’s apparent resurgence deserves a radically different interpretation.
The conventional wisdom is that yesterday’s results represent the beginning of a new progressive era.
MY THESIS IS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE!
What we may be witnessing is not the birth of a new political order, but the increasingly desperate struggle of an old one to preserve its dominance.
Consider four extraordinary warning signs.

HYPERNORMALIZATION: EVERYONE PRETENDS THE SYSTEM IS WORKING!
In the late Soviet Union, the political establishment projected extraordinary confidence even as its underlying economic and institutional foundations deteriorated.
The leadership controlled the narrative. The bureaucracy maintained its appearances. Official propaganda insisted the system was functioning.
Then, in 1989, communist governments across Eastern Europe began falling with breathtaking speed.
THE APPARENT STABILITY HAD CONCEALED EXTRAORDINARY FRAGILITY!
The lesson is not that democratic electoral victories resemble Soviet propaganda. They do not.
The lesson is that political institutions can mistake their ability to maintain influence for proof that their underlying ideology remains sustainable.

RIGIDITY: WHEN A POLITICAL MOVEMENT LOSES ITS ABILITY TO ADAPT!
Healthy systems accommodate criticism, correct mistakes, and evolve.
Fragile systems increasingly interpret disagreement as an existential threat.
They demand ideological conformity, punish dissent, and become trapped inside their own assumptions.
WHAT LOOKS LIKE UNBREAKABLE UNITY CAN ACTUALLY BE THE LOSS OF THE VERY FLEXIBILITY REQUIRED FOR SURVIVAL!
In my view, this is one of the greatest long-term vulnerabilities facing the progressive-globalist establishment.

CENTRALIZATION: THE MORE POWER THEY ACCUMULATE, THE MORE EXPOSED THEY BECOME!
Complex systems become vulnerable when too many institutions depend upon the same assumptions and decision-makers.
This phenomenon is sometimes described through tightly coupled systems and correlated failures.
One institutional breakdown can spread across the entire structure.
THE SAME CENTRALIZATION THAT CREATES THE APPEARANCE OF INVINCIBILITY CAN MAGNIFY THE CONSEQUENCES OF FAILURE!

CRITICAL SLOWING DOWN: THE SYSTEM IS RUNNING OUT OF RESILIENCE!
Scientists studying ecological and other complex systems have identified a fascinating warning signal: as resilience deteriorates, recovery from disturbances can take increasingly longer.
In politics, the analogy is unmistakable.
When every crisis requires extraordinary political capital, every disagreement becomes existential, and every election is portrayed as civilization’s final battle, something fundamental may be changing.
THE SYSTEM IS NO LONGER SIMPLY GOVERNING. IT IS FIGHTING TO PRESERVE ITSELF!
Now consider the broader geopolitical picture.
The ideological confrontation between national sovereignty and global governance, between traditional institutions and progressive transformation, and between competing visions of Western civilization is intensifying.
The so-called red-green alliance—an often-uneasy convergence between elements of the radical left and Islamist political activism—is one manifestation of these tensions.
But these movements are not identical, nor do they constitute a single coordinated organization.
MY CONCLUSION IS THAT YESTERDAY’S MIDTERMS MAY REPRESENT A PEAK IN POLITICAL MOBILIZATION, NOT THE BEGINNING OF PERMANENT DOMINANCE!
That is a thesis, not a certainty. Political movements can recover, adapt, and win repeatedly.
But if the historical analogy proves correct, the years ahead could bring extraordinary institutional disruption and geopolitical confrontation.
I BELIEVE WE SHOULD PREPARE FOR WAR—ABOVE ALL, A WAR OF IDEAS, ECONOMIC SYSTEMS, TECHNOLOGIES, AND COMPETING VISIONS OF CIVILIZATION!
Financial resilience, strategic independence, and the ability to withstand instability will become increasingly valuable.
THE BIGGEST MISTAKE WOULD BE TO CONFUSE YESTERDAY’S ELECTORAL STRENGTH WITH TOMORROW’S HISTORICAL INEVITABILITY!
SOMETIMES, THE CANDLE BURNS BRIGHTEST JUST BEFORE THE FLAME GOES OUT.
