Australia’s Bureau Of Meteorology Caught Tampering With Climate Change Data

As time goes, on its becoming harder for any rational person to believe that man-made global warming is a real threat. The foundation of this notion built on data that climate scientists from all over the world have collected. However, it’s been shown time and time again that this data is often flawed and manipulated. It’s not easy to take climate change seriously when the supposed experts are cooking the books.

And that’s exactly what appears to be going on. Just last month, a research report that was peer reviewed by MIT and the EPA, showed that the Global Average Surface Temperature (GAST) data produced by NASA was being “adjusted.” Just about every time a new version of GAST was introduced, the adjustments to the data showed a steeper warming trend. How convenient?

But that is hardly the only example. Recently Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology was caught tampering with temperature data. According to the Daily Caller:

Meteorologist Lance Pidgeon watched the 13 degrees Fahrenheit Goulburn recording from July 2 disappear from the bureau’s website. The temperature readings fluctuated briefly and then disappeared from the government’s website.

“The temperature dropped to minus 10 (13 degrees Fahrenheit), stayed there for some time and then it changed to minus 10.4 (14 degrees Fahrenheit) and then it disappeared,” Pidgeon said, adding that he notified scientist Jennifer Marohasy about the problem, who then brought the readings to the attention of the bureau.

As for why these low temperatures were erased from the record and adjusted, it turns out that the Bureau of Meteorology has an automated quality control system in place to remove “false” data. There are apparently limits in place in the system that prevent it from recording extreme temperatures. In this case, it conveniently removed record low temperatures that were measured in July, which as you might expect is being blamed on faulty equipment.

Bureaus Chief Executive Andrew Johnson told Australian Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg that the failure to record the low temperatures at Goulburn in early July was due to faulty equipment. A similar failure wiped out a reading of 13 degrees Fahrenheit at Thredbo Top on July 16, even though temperatures at that station have been recorded as low as 5.54 degrees Fahrenheit.

So basically, this system is supposed to weed out extreme temperatures shifts that are abnormal and not representative of overall trends. That makes sense. You wouldn’t want rare anomalies to skew the data. But in this case, the system essentially deleted a cold temperature reading that wasn’t as extreme as another reading that was eventually kept.

It erased one supposed anomaly, and recorded another that was even more anomalous. Ask yourself, does that sound like the kind of mistake that a computer would make, or does it sound like the data was tampered with? It’s no wonder why the scientists who caught this “mistake” aren’t buying any excuses.

Marohasy, for her part, told reporters that Johnson’s claims are nearly impossible to believe given that there are screen shots that show the very low temperatures before being “quality assured” out. It could take several weeks before the equipment is eventually tested, reviewed and ready for service, Johnson said.

At this point, anyone who doesn’t at least question the established dogma regarding climate change, should have their head examined.

      1. Here is a thought for those on both sides of this debate. Record the temperature yourself. Next year do it again. Continue. Compare.

You don’t need to be a meteorologist. How did people figure out the time before clocks? How can we settle this debate once and for all? The answer is sooooo hard to figure out. We need lots and lots of data, and many dedicated experts to interpret the data. Or, do it yourself.

No matter how well educated, if he’s a liar he’s worthless.

        • The earth is roughly 4.5 billion years old give or take 10%.
It has seen many changes of climate.
Man, that I care about, that are the ones that can write
and give us information about themselves from their context
is only about 5,200 old. They document cold and warm times.
The statist asses that think they can document and
predict the climate based upon a study of only 200 years
when they can’t even predict a hurricane track accurately, are obviously pandering to idiots.
Democrats as a rule are idiots, so there we are.
So here is my scientific prediction, The earth will
one day be destroyed, Everyone still left here will
die, and Hostess Twinkies will still be eatable.
Can I get a Grant for a study of this?

          • Want to see massive FRAUD in Reporting? Audit the FED. Then Fort Knox. Then the Pentagon who cant account for 25% of their Annual Butgets but request more and more and bigger budgets each year and get it. The US Military lost $1 Billion worth of weapons ststems in IRAQ. Wink wink which was left for ISIS. They have missing planes? Tanks, Helicopters, Hundreds of thousands of Guns and ammo. The Military spent $1Billion blowing up $5Billion in ammunition. Look that one up. They lost Stinger missles, on and on. But they want more amd bigger budgets every year. Had enough of this tyranny? Stock up on lots of rope.

          • Yes, relic, the earth has been through various climate changes in the past– some due to volcanic activity, etc. However, this particular climate change is due to the burning of fossil fuels, mostly.

Burning fossil fuels releases CO2 (carbon dioxide). CO2 is a green house gas. We need CO2 to keep from freezing at night. Without CO2 to trap the suns heat, we could not live because we would be freezing to death at night. The problem is, burning fossil fuels releases too much CO2– sort of like having too many blankets. And there are many feedback loops so that at some point, it will get worse and worse and we will no longer have control over the situation.

            • So far, the oceans have been absorbing most of the CO2 released from the burning of fossil fuels. (Also, the trees absorb it — these are called “sinks” because they absorb the CO2).

Around the middle of this century (or before), the oceans will become saturated, meaning they cannot absorb any more of it and at that point, they will start RELEASING CO2. Then all the heat that had been absorbed by the oceans, will go into the atmosphere instead, and then we will REALLY become aware of catastrophic climate change. At that point, it is game over for mankind. Little children today will inherit an unbelievably horrible world because some people are just too dumb to grasp the science/ simply refuse to listen.

              • Bullcrap.

                • I could not have said it better!

                  • Bullshit.

        • B– My mom passed away a few years ago, but before she died, she said she, what in the world is happening to the climate?? she said she never saw anything like it in her whole life and she was in her nineties.

Some days, we had 100 degree weather for several days in a row, and it was just SPRING TIME!! and up North!!

I remember, walking to my car, it was like walking through hot water– barely make it to the car!!

Also, we used to have blizzards ALL THE TIME up north in my hometown. Nowdays, people go around in short sleeves, out jogging with shorts on and have windows rolled down in the winter!!

FURTHERMORE, THE ARCTIC IS MELTING!!!! ANTARCTICA IS COMING APART!! THINK, MAN, THINK!!!

          • More Bullcrap

      2. And I should care why?…….

        • Warchild:

Since you are not interested in the weather, here is a low sugar recipe from Dr. Mark Hyman’s cookbook, “Blood Sugar Solution Cookbook”.

          Mighty “Meatless” Stew

although there is no meat in this stew, the addition of some Ox Tails would be more better ?.

          Olive oil 2 tablespoons
          Anchovies drained
          Vidalia onion chopped (one)
          5minced garlic cloves
          4 chopped celery stalks
          2 large sliced carrots
          Dried parsley (2 tablespoons)
Marjoram, basil, fennel seed, red pepper flakes
          All 1 tablespoon each
Sea salt & fresh ground pepper to taste
          1peeled large eggplant chopped finely
5 cups thick sliced mushrooms (1 lb.)
          2 zucchini sliced and halved
Peppers 2 12 oz. jars of cherry or banana peppers
          Drain and slice
2 28 oz. cans crushed tomatoes
1 cup low sodium chicken broth
          1/4 dry red wine
1 large bunch kale chopped stemmed
          1cup water
4 cups cooked red kidney beans
Or 2 cans rinsed 15 oz. drained
          1/4 cauliflower cut med florets
1 cup pitted halved black olives
1/2 cup fresh parsley for garnish

          Page 204 for cooking directions.

          • Say now–that sounds quite good.

Most of it would come from my garden (egg plant might not).

Anchovies 🙁 might have to leave those out.

            thanks

          • That’s 1/4 cup of dry red wine. Peel eggplant before finely diced.

            1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. When hot add the anchovies, onion garlic celery carrots, dried parsley, marjoram, basil, and fennel seed. Stir well and cook until the onions are soft, 5-6 minutes. Season with the red pepper flakes and salt and pepper to taste, and mix until the anchovies melt and disappear.

            2. Add the eggplant, mushrooms and zucchini and cook until they’re tender but still firm, about five minutes.

            3. Toss in the hot or sweet peppers and pour in the tomatoes, broth, and wine. Raise the heat to high and bring to a boil.

            4. Reduce the heat to med-low and add the kale and water. Let the kale simmer until it wilts, two-three minutes. Add the beans, cauliflower, and olives and continue to simmer 5-7 minutes. If the stew is very thick, loosen it up with a little more broth or water.

            5. Check the stew for seasoning and add additional salt and pepper if desired. Garnish the stew with fresh parsley and serve. Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 5 days or in the freezer for up to 6 months.

      3. Its been manipulated in Britain and Australia and probably many other places. After all that I doubt the arguments for global warming and would now doubt it if were found to be true. Keep messing with the people’s trust and you will lose will lose it for good.

      4. Thar’s big MONEY the them thar global warming hills.

In fact, Australian Joanne Nova had the temerity to follow the money, and found that trail led to – surprise! – the warmers. Brobdignagian Big Government and its horde of public cash, along with their buddies, Big Finance (who, also have a stake in global warming) which utterly dwarfs relatively tiny Big Oil. Nova notes at http://joannenova.com.au/2010/03/the-climate-industry-wall-of-money/ deep-pocketed Greenpeace searched high and wide for Big Oil money, and found $23 mm paid by Exxon over 10 years, which has stopped. They found nothing more. Moreover, Nova’s article points out that while Big Oil may not prefer emissions to be traded, it’s not the end of the world if they are, as any taxing of Big Oil will just be passed on to the consumers, and past experience shows that even with higher prices, consumers still have to use fuel, so profits will not be impacted. In contrast to Exxon’s $23 mm, consider the carbon-mongers’ budgets, such as Stanford’s Global Climate and Energy Project for $100mm. Meanwhile, the co-opted government has spent $79 billion on climate initiatives since 1989, and this figure is only the U.S. alone, and also does not include private concerns. Even Australia put out one quick advertising campaign at $13.9 mm recently. And what is England’s BBC, if not one big, publicly funded advertising arm for the warmers?

In sum, Nova notes “There is no question that there are vastly more financial rewards for people who promote a carbon-made catastrophe than for those who point out the flaws in the theory.” Worse, there is no group or government funding designed to check flaws in the warmers’ work, and the very logic of government funding steers the researchers to do what they were mandated to do – look in one direction for warming, as their grant applications ask them to. As Nova states in her article, “It’s possible that honest scientists have dutifully followed their grant applications, always looking for one thing in one direction, and when they have made flawed assumptions or errors, or just exaggerations, no one has pointed it out simply because everyone who could have, had a job doing something else. In the end the auditors who volunteered—like Steve McIntyre and AnthonyWatts—are retired scientists, because they are the only ones who have the time and the expertise to do the hard work.” While there are massive numbers of heavily funded organizations looking for global warming, I have yet to hear of even one “National Institute for Natural Climate Change.” Need another example? Mr. Hockey Stick himself, Michael Mann, while at Virginia State Univ. received almost a half million dollars in funding prior to his departure to Penn State. And while people like Peter Gleick talk about Heartland Inst. receiving $7 million in annual funding (with only a very small fraction coming from corporations having anything to do with the global warming, James Taylor points out, in contrast, :the Natural Resources Defense Council receives close to $100 million in annual funding, Greenpeace receives close to $200 million in annual funding, the World Wildlife Fund receives approximately $600 million in annual funding, etc., etc., etc. Which groups, indeed, are the “well-funded” entities “focused on protecting narrow financial interests?”

        • The fossil fuel industry is the most powerful industry ever existed, with billions dollars/day from people burning fossil fuels. Do you really think they are about to let scientists interfere with their billion dollar/day industry and convince people to switch to renewable energy? Hell, no! that’s why they hired the same PR (public relations) firms the tobacco industries hired when scientists said smoking cigarettes is bad for your health.

I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU PEOPLE CANNOT GRASP TRUTH??!! You complain abut liberals not understanding the importance of the second amendment. WHY are you so ignorant when it comes to the climate? You have your heads buried very, very deep in the sand. F– ostriches!!!!

      5. Sorry, deleted my name accidentally above. Speaking of BIG GREEN MONEY, Jo Nova also stated that, according to the World Bank, carbon trading reached $126 billion in 2008 (last time I cared to look), and PointCarbon came in with $130 billion in 2009. (It’s only got a thousand times worse than back then) If warmers whine about involvement of “Big Oil,” what about the involvement of Big Finance, who stand to make money when carbon is bought or sold? Could it be that those shouting at skeptics are in the employ of Big Finance? Nova writes “Banks are keen to be seen as good corporate citizens (look, there’s an environmental banker!), but somehow they don’t find the idea of a non-tradable carbon tax as appealing as a trading scheme where financial middlemen can take a cut. (For banks that believe in the carbon crisis, taxes may well “help the planet,” but they don’t pay dividends.)”

o, in sum, is seems there are some generally unpaid skeptics who are taking on massive business interests and groups of warmers who have a vested interest to continue getting their grants and trips to exotic locales for meetings (anyone wonder why the don’t row there?). No one seems to mention they also have to fight “Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, and every other financial institution or corporation that stands to profit like the Chicago Climate Exchange (before it imploded from its own poison gas emissions, see http://www.masterresource.org/2010/11/death-chicago-climate-exchange/ ), European Climate Exchange), PointCarbon, IdeaCarbon (and the list goes on… ) as well as against government bureaucracies like the IPCC and multiple departments of Climate Change.” CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton even stated in the near future he could “ see carbon trading being a $2 trillion market… the largest commodity market in the world” while Richard L. Sandor, chairman and chief executive officer of Climate Exchange Plc, who received $1.1 million in grants from the leffist Joyce Foundation to launch the CCX, agreed and predicted trades eventually would total $10 trillion a year – that is, until Cap and Trade blew up – at which point, Mr. Sandor received $98.5 million for his 16.5% stake in the CCX (Chicago Climate Exchange) when it was sold. Not too shabby for a failed enterprise that somebody else financed.

And Mr. Sandor isn’t the only one making off with big bucks. There’s good ol’ billionaire greenie Nat Simons. Brian McNicoll notes “He’s in the energy business, and he’s not afraid to throw money around to get government policies that help his bottom line. He buys scientists to crank out favorable research. He pays think tanks to formulate policies that fatten his wallet. He contributes vast sums to politics – both in direct support of candidates and in advocacy. He doles out tens of millions of dollars per year to groups to forward his energy views, and the source of much of this money is the darkest of secrets. And to top it off, he rides to work on a yacht – a 54-foot, 1,550-horsepower craft with a 550-gallon fuel tank (which I think is around the same size as John Kerry’s yacht). McNicoll goes on to note that Simons Sea Change Foundation doled out more than $100 million in 2011 and 2012 to groups such as the Sierra Club, the Natural Resource Defense Council, Food and Water Watch, the League of Conservation Voters and the Center for American Progress. Just more, you know, of the BIG GREEN MONEY cabal. And it is all funded by some secretive, Bermuda based organization called Klein, which gave Simons Sea Change $23 million recently. And where does Klein get its money from? Why, from ““executives with deep ties to Russian oil interests and offshore money laundering schemes involving member of President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle.” States Lachlan Markey of the Washington Free Beacon. And of course the Russians want something for this dough – namely a carbon tax in the US, which would drive US energy costs higher, and help… well, you get it.

Perhaps most revealing is the 2017 article in WattsUpWithThat, where the vice chair of the Financial Stability Board disclosed that “the world will have to spend $93 trillion over the next 15 years – five times the size of the entire 2015 US economomy – on “renewable, sustainable” energy and low-carbon infrastructure programs, as part of the Climate Crisis, Inc. plan to de-carbonize and de-industrialize the planet. Naturally, most of that money will flow to its crony corporatist allies. Their ultimate goal is to enrich and empower themselves … and fundamentally transform the global economy – to our detriment, and especially the detriment of the world’s poorest families – using our taxpayer, consumer, and investment, retirement, insurance and pension fund money!” As one example, this article notes the big green money banksters include “UBS Financial Services and the $5-trillion BlackRock global financial management firm, which now has an index fund for people and organizations that want to divest from companies that BlackRock, AXA and the Cabal have targeted with their anti-carbon campaigns. The tax-exempt anti-carbon pressure group Natural Resources Defense Council has put $70 million into the fund.”

In fact, in 2000-1, Discoverthenetworks noted in a Dec. 1, 2015 article that the Joyce Foundation – on whose board Obama sat at the time – had made a tidy little $1.1 mm grant to get the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) off the ground, which was to be “North America’s only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide.” As they said in the Depression (the 1930s one, not Obama’s one), “nice work if you can get it.”
Total money given by Sea Change from 2007 to 2012 to push carbon tax or cap and trade totaled a cool $173 million, reports McNicoll which help both the Russians as well as Simons green energy scams. Nice work if you can get it. And, concludes McNicoll, Simons’ “green groups thrive on a panoply of government grants, low- or no-interest loans and breaks from bureaucrats who save their regulatory zeal for fossil-fuel projects.” And the left has the lying temerity to accuse others of being in the back pocket of big oil! In fact, the back pockets are in the BIG GREEN MONEY pants: in 2014, New England started down the green path – and saw energy prices rise 40% (see Forbes 12/12/14). Somebody is making a bundle off that increase. I’ll leave you to do the research on that one.

      6. $ Follow the money $

      7. It don’t help when those Hollywood libtards get to use there fame and influence to manipulate the weak minded fools.
        Take that fuckin Leonardo DiCaprio.
Comes up here to shoot his movie in the foothills by Calgary Alberta. A Chinook blew threw and ate up 3.5 feet of snow in an afternoon. A true Chinook only happens in this small region along a short stretch of the foot hills from about Lethbridge Alberta to Calgary Alberta the wind comes over the mountains and on the backside picks up speed causing friction and therefore heat.i myself have gone to work at -40c 10 hours later it’s +15c it happens every year.
That moron gets up and says “I experienced first hand climate change” and goes on to describe how sad it was. Showed dead caraboo in a river (died during migration) I’ve seen this video it’s called BEFORE THE FLOOD.
My god , “and yet if I had them killed; I’d be the one To go to prison”
        Montgomery Burns.

        • I grew up with Santa Ana winds.
the heating effect is more from
          compression than friction.

As for the DiCaprio, I don’t think the
RCMP will look very hard for you, if an
          “errant” shot took him out.
Too bad American police weren’t more
like the RCMP, we might respect our
          local cops a little bit.

          • The RCMP mostly aren’t bad guys.
However lol I would NOT recommend shitting in his shreddies. These guys are tough.

            • I was stopped by the RCMP once in Saskatchewan, it was in the day of 55 MPH on Highway 1, I was returning to Minot, ND after terrorizing Regina, night life.
I had blown through a town at 55 MPH. There were no speed limit
signs in the town. He explained that everyone knows you slow to 35 mph in a town. He then asked where “Mississippi” was( I was military, I still had those plates and hadn’t switched them to North Dakota just yet). I told him where it it was, he still looked confused, and he just said slow down in towns and wove me off. I understand these days that was one hell of a ticket he could have given, or even a visit to jail.

        • Hi Beav. Learjet leftist DiCaprio mistaking a chinook for global warming. How utterly classic from the utterly ignorant left.

          • Remember the “smog pollution” and “acid rain” claims of the 80’s? Where did it go? What about that big hole in the Ozone? Did poster boy Al fly up there all by himself and plug that hole and save humanity? Notice the pattern to all this? Every decade or so something “new” is created and is automatically worse than the previous claim..Get some Hollywood celebs onboard with the plan, add the media to the mix,and market/hype it to the max and eventually millions will start believing it..Just look at those onboard with the GW scam and you’ll see their lavish lifestyles…Learjets,Limos,multi-million dollar homes,etc..And yet they act so concerned about the planet…Take all those luxuries away from them and you’ll see just how concerned they would be..Ever notice when environmental supporters don’t get their way what they do? Burn tires and throw trash everywhere!!! Yeah, their concerned all right…In the end it’s ALL about Control and CASH!!!!!

      8. Al told us the ocean is going to flood the east coast. All this global warming and DC is still high and dry.

      9. Well of course.

Does anyone think the global warming excuse could ever stand the scrutiny of the real scientific community?

      10. John Stossell has a series of videos on U Tube debunking the glowbull warming myth. Its about money. The greenie scientist who push the man is killing the planet myth are heavily funded. Any scientist who questions the lie is chastised. The truth seekers are not funded and any funded scientist who doesn’t go along to get along is very quickly out of a job. Man caused and man mitigated Climate change is a Lie- Myth- religion. President Trump was right to pull out of the Paris Accord. Why should we in the USA pay billions to other places for nothing in return.

      11. Professors get money from the government for their University research projects. So they are going to go along with the program in order to keep the money coming in. Even in the US the weather stats have been modified. There were charges that the temperature gauges were even moved to warmer locations to get higher readings. From grassy areas to hot tarmac on airports.

      12. Anyone who believes the bullshit you are publishing needs to have their head examined. You either work for the fossil fuel industry yourself or are very, very naive… or both.

      13. HIM, Professors are NOT climate scientists… geezh, you people are really ignorant. 🙁

      14. FROM OLD GUY–
“John Stossell has a series of videos on U Tube debunking the glowbull warming myth. Its about money. The greenie scientist who push the man is killing the planet myth are heavily funded. Any scientist who questions the lie is chastised.”
        ——————-
THE TRUTH(IF you can GRASP IT!!): Who is John Stossel? A nobody!! HE is a nobody! JIM HANSEN, the world’s leading CLIMATE SCIENTIST says differently. So, if you have a functioning brain, who would you believe? THE WORLD’S LEADING CLIMATE SCIENTIST, OR SOME SMUCK CALLED JOHN WHATEVER? THINK ABOUT IT!

Furthermore, its not about “Green scientists”. True– there are some “green companies” who are making tons of money by PRETENDING to care about the planet. HOWEVER, the leading climate scientists FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD all say that climate change is happening and we are contributing by burning fossil fuels.

Who is REALLY benefitting? the FOSSIL FUEL INUSTRY by spreading dis-information, saying that climate change is a myth. Just like the tobacco industry did when scientists said smoking is bad for your health, they hired people to say the scientists were lieing.

        • Who is Al Gore? just a politician who gets rick from the Globull warming scam myth lie religion. you are the one who spouts bullshit. Anthony watts has a website. Watts Up With That. He does a credible job at debunking the glowbull warming lie. Watch Stossell’s videos He brings on real scientist and lets them debate idiots like Bill Nye the Science guy. And old bill when he couldn’t refute the facts started resorting the old worn dogma lies.

      15. LIBERALS DON’T WANT TO THINK THE GOVERNMENT IS BAD, UNTRUSTWORHY. THEY WANT TO THINK THEY DON’T NEED GUNS, ALL IS WELL, THE GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM.

AND YOU PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO THINK CLIMATE CHANGE IS HAPPENING– YOU ARE JUST AS WILLFULLY BLIND AS THE LEFT IS–

        YOU BOTH ARE SHEEP!!!

      16. I never stated climate change is not happening. The climate is always changing . My argument is there isn’t any such thing as a normal or optimal climate. And no person group or government has any right or authority to state what the climate should be. And lastly Mans activities are not the root cause of climate change. And Man cannot mitigate any climate change. All the USA spending billions of dollars by adhering to the Obummer agreement would do is make the USA billions of dollars poorer. Trump was correct to cancel that deal. Now the fact is everything in on or about the earth is a natural thing. All man does is combine natural elements in a unnatural manner. And just as soon as man does that combining nature starts taking it apart again. Man cannot make something from nothing and cannot make something into nothing. So how are mans activities creating climate change. Common sense tells us man isn’t creating anything. All man is doing is using what god makes available to his best advantage.

        • Old guy,
I thought God was spelled with a capital “G”.
Man can really pollute things locally, but I don’t think
we can change the world’s environment, we aren’t stupid
enough to do that yet. We can kill off fish, birds, mammals,
plants, and et al, but we cannot stop or increase ice
accretion in the Antarctic, or on the volcano I live on.
or cool your Houston summer afternoon.
What most these climate cultists forget is that
everything is going to get colder.
2nd law of Thermodynamics, if you
          believe that sort of stuff.

      17. yep my bad a capital G is the correct spelling. But you know who I was referring to. Back when I was a teen I loved working on old vehicles. We didn’t own a shop. However There was a big White oak tree on the creek bank that had those spreading limbs. I had a chain hoist hung from a stout branch. And I pulled and swapped engines . rebuilt engines and cleaned parts there. The grount was oil soaked and for all intents it was the same as asphalt. Nothing grew there. However after a few years passed without any more petroleum residue being deposited there the grass returned. Today the Fescue grass grows greener and taller around that old white oak than elsewhere in that area. Apparently some kinda oil eating organism took care of and recycled that oil. The cattle would shade in that spot and chew their cuds. And whenever a cow gets up the first thing that happens is they make a cow pie. I suspect that the digestive bacteria and ammonia and methane from the cow manure helped to break down that oil grease mixture.

        • Old Guy….. Oil has microbes which are naturally present to clean up the oil if spilled. Some spills are “farmed ” by disking up the soil and adding hay and purchased microbes. In time the microbes eat up the oil and you have very green grass. As always, God knew what he was doing when he created things and He is the one in control of the climate, not us. we are to be good stewards of the earth but he controls it, not Al Gore etc. Take care of yourself Old Guy as I am one myself.

      18. Firstly, the claim needs to be falsifiable —
        who, what, where, when, why
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits…by their fruits ye shall know them.”
        — from Matt 7

One possible interpretation of this passage is that you should be able to test, prove, or disprove it. Objective information, only.

(Using the name of the Living God, in vain, is blasphemy, and there are traditions, about that. Alarmists will abuse the Bible.)

But, secularly speaking, these people should be held accountable, to a degree, commensurate with the disturbance they have caused — lost time, missallocated resources, civil unrest, etc, etc. These are measurable, in discrete terms.

Also, losing academic tenure and credibility. Maybe, there is some scarlet letter or mark of humiliation. Let’s say, figuratively speaking.

Chicken Little and the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Even moral relativists, relative-truthers know the meaning of it, from infancy. The person is not now, and never has been, entitled to an opinion. Their participation in civil society is a waste or abuse of resources, since you meant to ration.

Count what they have wasted, formally, and restore the victims.

You want to say that all people cannot afford the same standard of living. Do not afford it to liars and reprobates. Favor the useful and altruistic.

      19. Last nite I watched john coleman’s video about about the glowbull warming scare started. That professor of Al Gores who startet the sdudy about greenhouse gasse’s even acknowleged that the science was half baked. When he did Al Gore dismissed his testimony by stating he was senile. Any road the video very truthfully tells of & how all the billions of funding the government pays to so called climate experts to perpetuate the half truths and out right lies. Yep those guilty charlitans need to be held accountable.

      20. I blame George Bush myself!

But our BoM are renowned for ever month, every season, every year, releasing a “Hottest on Record” claim.

A bit like the boy that cried wolf!
