Do you LOVE America?

Arizona Corporation commission member Gary Pierce responds to Los Angeles politicians’ calls for an economic boycott of the state:

If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation.

I am confident that Arizona’s utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands. If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona’s economy.

AZ provides about 25% of the electrical power to run Los Angeles. If California wants to play the boycott game, it likes like Arizona’s citizens may be happy to oblige.

      1. This is what’s referred to, on the street, as a “BITCH SLAP”.

        Hooooorraaaaayyyy Arizona!

      2. By all means Arizona, flip the California circuit breaker.

Let’s make California and Obama squirm at what a sovereign state like Arizona can do if pushed.

Pull the plug on Pelosi’s home state!

The rest of the country is with you in your anger.

      3. said it many times, civil war /seccesion is coming.

      4. If California wishes to be a Socialist haven then by all means feel free to do so……………just don’t expect the rest of us to support your Utopian agenda. California is becoming more of a liability with each passing day.

      5. Love the move by AZ… could be the start of a trend of regional conflicts … the not-so-united states..

      6. Good move by someone here in power. I recommended just that on a local post about a week ago. Imagine the chaos there if they can’t turn the lights on after dark. And then, we could always cut their water off too. In five years they won’t need either.

For all intents and purposes, LA is history. 5/24

      7. Just want it to be known I stand in agreement with you guys.

      8. Lights out in Hollywood?   No more of their garbage spewing out of the television and the movie houses for our children to see?

Can AZ unplug Washington D.C. too?   Shut Obama up.  Please say yes Arizona.   We’re sick of the man.

      9. Along with the power to be cut the next shot across the bow will be all the water that comes from Arizona’s Colorado River !!  I have herd talk to the effect that “Lets not stop with power , Stop the water too”!!! La-LA land needs that water , But if thay want a boycott well Arizona can just stop that evil H2O from evil Arizona as well !  But seriously , look for obama to get his legal eagles to declare that Arizona must supply California with power and water , or they will come in and take over .

      10. I would like to see the Attorney Generals for all states do exactly what Arizona has done.  It would have several purposes:   1.  It would let Washington know The American People are against the immigration reform that is being forced on us  2.  It would take some of the heat off Arizona   3.  It would tell the illegals in this country that they do not call the shots.

      11. Perhaps I’m a bit niave here… but doesn’t the term “illegal immigrant” mean they are here illegally?

        I’m just sayin…

      12. I heard this on the radio today and it made me smile!   L. A. can be left in the dark.   Hell with them.

      13. Obama will side with the illegal aliens, he is after all a ILLIGITIMATE PRESIDENT.

      14. Go Arizona, Go! Screw the liberal imbeciles in California. What are they gonna do when their hair dryers don’t work? Ha Ha Haa…

      15. Willie Wonka is 100% correct; Civil War and/or Seccesion is coming. And as far as what Barkie Obungle and the Feds have to say about everything; who actually F-ing cares? If everyone just ignores them, what the hell can they actually do about it anyway? We can all become refusenicks and see how they like that. The worstr insult that you can pay anyone is to simply ignore them.

Let’ all go to the polls for the midterm elections this coming November and vote each and every incumbent out of office. Think the congress-critters and senatorial-sabsuckers will get the message? You bet they will!!!!

      16. “I am confident that Arizona’s utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands.”

Another example of how socialist, government-owned public companies care not one whit about the profit motive. They play political games and threaten their customers. Meanwhile, needed capital is being directed away from private companies striving to satisfy the most urgent needs of consumers.

“please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona’s economy.”

I think declaring war on part of your population might fall under that description. There is a price to be paid for blithe ignorance of economic science.

      17. “Perhaps I’m a bit niave here… ”

What’s naive is worrying about the criminal picking of fruit and the felonious operation of multi-wheeled rotary blade landscaping units. While this does affect you by reducing the prices of fruit and landscaping services, there other crimes that might be important, e.g., the destruction of 98% of the dollar since the Fed was founded.
