I wrote an article called 5 Places NOT To Be When The Dollar Collapses. In it I wrote that societies that benefited the most from the dollar would be the worst places to be when it fell apart. While the dollar has not even collapsed yet, the strain in these areas is becoming more apparent. England is number 3 on the list has had 4 days of violent riots as people start to lose it. Israel is number 1 on that list has had massive protests. There is revolution in the air all over the world except in the US.

America is still in deep denial which is still the first stage of the Awakening. This denial will be wiped away when the dollar collapses. For now the economy is still functioning with food and fuel available. Americans still have the illusion of wealth and normalcy. They still are stuck in the false left right paradigm and think some other sock puppet will turn things around.

When the dollar collapses, all American illusions will collapse with it. Deep denial will turn into deep anger. The violence I expect in the other 3 areas on the list and all urban areas in the US, will make all other global riots pale in comparison. America is deeply infused with arrogance, denial, narcissism, drugs and violence. There is no other society that I know of that has the degree of intensity and combination of these factors.

    “We’re Number 1! We’re Number 1!”

    1. Arrogance- All of our lives we have been fed the lie that somehow we are better than everyone else. We believe this so much that we feel it is morally acceptable to stick our noses in everyone’s business. We have 777+ military bases all over the world. Our currency is the world’s reserve currency. We control most international organizations like the UN, IMF and World Bank. We control the world’s shipping lanes. Our media is the most popular and sought after propaganda in the world. Our corporations harvest the resources that our empire provides. This has lead to an American way of life that is not negotiable. We print debt and consume. This way of life was only possible by the very real and hard sacrifices made by Americans long dead. America today is nothing more than a spoiled brat blowing through the last of their inheritance. The only thing the US is number 1 in is spreading debt and death.

This American arrogance will be turned on to other Americans as the dollar collapses. We will no longer be able to maintain the global empire of force without a functioning currency. All of our troops will be forced to come home and we will no longer be able to import 25% of the world’s oil. This sudden shift will turn arrogant Americans on each other as they seek to enforce their inflated sense of self worth on to others. They will think that somehow the world somehow owes them something and they believe that lesser people should make that sacrifice for them. After all, the American way of life is not negotiable… at least that’s what Dick Cheney said.

“Everything is fine today, that is our illusion.” -Voltaire

    2. Denial- For those that aren’t arrogant, they are in denial that somehow they are okay because they are good people. They believe that the America will recover and that the American Dream is still alive. They believe this because they either lack the ability to logically see through the lies or they believe that the people ruling them have the same morals as they do. You cannot spread freedom with war. A nation cannot enforce their will on another nation anymore than you can enforce your will upon another. There will always be blow back. Of  course that is the plan of your rulers. They do not share the same values as you do. They seek to create chaos and division so that they can garner more power and profits.

“You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of reality.” Ayn Rand

The dollar collapse will end the ability of the average American to deny their active or passive participation in the dominance of the world by spreading debt and death. When people’s entire life’s savings are wiped away, they will wonder what their life has been all about. All of the missed times with their family and connections with others has been stained by the pursuit of material gains. Only when everything is taken from them, will they start to see the real importance of life. Many will not be able to come to terms with this coming reality. Those that are aware and prepared stand a great chance of making it through this paradigm shift and thrive. (Join the Sons of Liberty Academy.)

Why am I not happy? Why am I not happy?

    3. Narcissism- The amount of narcissism in America is epidemic. The fascination with celebrities and their clothes consumes so many women. Men are addicted to worshiping sports figures. We have this fear of competition and view others as enemies. This leads to shallow and transitory relationships. Americans consume their way into debt as they try to create an outer facade to hide a void in their vapid lives.

The Baby Boomer generation is known as the “Me” generation. Their obsessive pursuit for material possessions was matched by their embrace of debt. The dollar collapse is going to hit the Baby Boomers the hardest as they are forced to come to term with the trail of pain they have left in their wake. Broken families and debt are just the tip of the iceberg. The war and debt machine they enabled and unleashed upon the world is a much harder reality they will have to deal with. The real problem is the sad fact that many of them will be too old to have a second chance on life.

    4. Drugs- Millions of Americans turn to drugs to fill the void of true purpose in their lives. Instead of dealing with a past a hurt or seeking a higher purpose in their lives by helping others and using their natural talents to make a better world, people turn to drugs. The worst kind of drugs are the ones that people believe are making them better. The powerful psychotropic drugs like Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) or more commonly known as anti-depressants. These drugs are extremely powerful and can cause psychotic breaks that lead to violence.  Go to http://ssristories.com/ to see the list of nearly 4,300 cases of crime related to these drugs.  These stories include everything from the Virginia Tech shooting to the mom that drowned her 5 kids in the bathtub.  I would say that these drugs are much more dangerous than guns, because they cause the people to break from reality and cause the violence.

I don’t have time to go into the mass medication of America and the real reason why Marijuana is illegal, but I do want to warn everyone of one thing.  Nearly 10% of the country or 27 million Americans are on these drugs.  Knowing that there is only a one month supply in the system and the kind of psychotic breaks that will happen if people come off these drugs too fast, this is definitely not a good thing.  When the dollar collapses, we not only have to worry about the 7 to 10 day supply of food and fuel in the system, we really need to worry about the 1 in 10 Americans who are not going to be medicated while their world paradigm collapses.  I can see it now, humanitarian airlifts dropping Zoloft and Lexapro from the sky…

    5. Violence- Violence has been apart of our American culture since the beginning of our country. We have the most armed population and the highest crime rates in the world. The violence we will see in some parts of America could become as bad as the Reign of Terror from the French Revolution. I wrote the 2 Coming American Revolutions. One Revolution will embrace founding fathers vision of Life , Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The other Revolution will be some collectivist vision of coercion and fear.  Some parts of this country will confront the new post-dollar paradigm by embracing freedom and honest money. Others will try to hold onto power by becoming more tyrannical and finding enemies within their neighbors.

We are surrounded by violence and have been desensitized anti social behavior. Our movies and video games show the killing of others but rarely the consequences of those actions. Even other anti social behavior has been normalized. I even realized my favorite show of all time Seinfeld was all about normalizing anti social behavior. The series finale was based on a man getting mugged and all 4 main characters not only not helping the man, but actually making fun of the man as he is violently robbed. This lack of empathy is at the root of our problems. So here we now have a society that not only cares only about themselves and their materialistic needs, we also have a society that no longer cares about other’s feelings.

The American riots will be the worst the word has seen because of the amount of will be of arrogance, denial, narcissism, drugs and violence in our society. These factors are systemic and infect every level of society. I do fear that our nation is sick enough to unleash a series of false flag events to spread our violence even further. This violent Anger phase in the 5 Stages of the Awakening will not last long and not happen in every part of America. There will be a few months of violence that will shake the faith in mankind. Those that live by the sword, will die by the sword. After the most violent are either killed, brought to justice or burnt out, we will enter in a societal depression as we try to come to terms with what has happened. This period could last for years as we struggle with the loss of wealth and life.

I am hopeful that this collapse will actually be the beginning of something really great for mankind.A new paradigm not based on debt and death is a very real outcome of this collapse. With the collapse of the dollar, those that were lured into a senseless narcissistic consumer lifestyle will be forced to come to the understanding that instant gratification is not why we are put on this earth. Those that were ill prepared for the collapse will start to ask questions, then they will seek answers, then they will want blood. The Elite that created, perpetuated and profited off of this paradigm will be running for cover as the world wakes up to what they have done. It will be nice to have consumerism, militarism and narcissism flushed away. (ReadResonate IV)

This collapse will not result in a One World Order. The Elite that are trying desperately make this happen will no longer be able to operate in secrecy. Their minions will lack any legitimacy with the people they rule. After all who is going to trust a President who says he did not see this coming when you and I can see it coming from miles away. The result after a very violent Anger phase is going to be massive decentralization of power not more centralization of power. Local communities, cities counties and states will assert more power over the daily activities of our lives. Some will will slip into tyranny to make order out of chaos. Others will attract the best and brightest by embracing freedom and honest money. The end result is a life where we can reach our highest and best self. How we get there is a rough road, but one I feel is easily traveled if you are aware and prepared.

      1. …damn!

      2. Two Words: Dogtown Reservior

      3. Add to that America’s overall refusal to quietly tolerate any hardship… that’s something we apparently forgot how to do during the last two or three generations.

        • There is a person in my family I think of when I read a post like your own. Maybe two people actually; my brother in law and his son. The elder brother in law (almost 60 years old) is a man described as one with a heart of gold. Yes he does anything he can for anyone (including me – several times); and I love him like a brother. When SHTF though; he’s dead if I can’t save him.

Worse then him is his 15 year old son. This kid won’t make it. I don’t have the hear to tell “dad” his kid can’t survive in a society where his worth is in his abilities, talents, skills all of which he has none and refuses at this rebellious stage to develop any. We have a nice BOL I could invite them too, but he’d be a waste there and likely get knocked off by someone tired of his whinning, crying and inability to contribute – anything.

      4. Open the gates of Hell and let slip the dogs of war! I am the Alpha and the Omega, and I’m fresh out of Alpha.

      5. Well written. Fairly well thought out too. I believe that your unfolding is a little shallow as it seems to be too formulaic and crumbling Empires do not follow logic. For example, you mention that we will no longer be able to fund the wars overseas if the dollar crumbles. At least that is what I have comprenhended from your commentary. Why do I differ on this point? Because, the wars will continue and can afford to be continued because the government will stop paying the soldiers and force them to accept zero pay. The government will also conscript more soldiers rough the “Draft”. All unnecessary use of Oil and Gas will be re-routed to the military. All ammunition and firearms will be re-routed to the Military. We may have a lot of Guns per capita, but when your run out of ammo…Game Over. The only way that the country can be taken back would be a la Fight Club. Watch it again if you do not get what I mean.

        • You mean we need to shoot ourselves and then blow everything up?

          • The other way around.

        • “Because, the wars will continue and can afford to be continued because the government will stop paying the soldiers and force them to accept zero pay.”

Uh… like hell they can and I can say this with 100% certainty since I’m ex-military.

          • The military will last longer than any resistance movement.

            Military not paid? No problema.

During the Chinese anarchy of 1912-1949, no Chinese warlord took the trouble pay his soldiers, including the commies.

It was where free market capitalism had reached the zenith.

The soldiers were not paid; they were expected to take whatever they wanted from the people, including the people themselves to sell, and gladly did so.

Being a soldier was a license to loot and kill, and quite a lot of them became wealthy from it and eventually ended up in Taiwan and North America for their troubles, in the expenses of untold millions nobody cared to record.

            • The Chinese didn’t and don’t have millions of it’s populace armed to the teeth.

Also, cut off military supply lines and see how long they last against the above mentioned.

        • The only reason that most of our military is there is for the money. That and the job that they can’t get anywhere else. Try to stop paying them and see what happens! A draft? Please send me a large bag of whatever it is that you are smoking; it’s obviously much better than what I have available to me. There isn’t anyone stupid enough to respond in the affirmative to coerced military service.

Do you have any idea of just how much ammunition that there is stockpiled out there among the civilian population? Run out of ammo???? Just about the time that hell actually freezes over!!!!

          • If everything else fails the military will be given a license to loot. And they will loot the ammo along other things.

          • I have been a soldier for 10 years now, and I can tell you that I intend to keep my work of “supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. This means that if the military is used in any capacity to oppress the people of this great nation, I refuse to partake. At that point, the enemies of the Constitution would consist of politicians and military leaders (this is partly true already) and a large portion of the military would leave to go take up arms with their fellow citizens.

            • white soldiers maybe. I know Asian soldiers don’t give a sh*t about constitution or liberty; they have lived thousands of years under emperors, and an imperial system would suit them just fine.

Remember, in Rome’s last days, very few Roman soldiers were actually “Roman”.

            • I hope you have lots of friends!!!

            • That’s okay Publius, your conscience will be respected… if you should choose NOT to partake, you can always be sent somewhere that the same thing is going on, only you won’t speak the language, and the ENTIRE population will be hostile… Alternatively, after a short, but intese period of massacre and repression here in the US, you’ll be thrown into a victimized community, in your best BDUs, and ordered to “clean up” and assist – they’ll ALL be VERY happy to see you and will probably greet you with flowers! Damned if you do, damned if you don’t!

            • God Bless You ! I am in complete agreement!
              SEMPER FI !

          • Yes ammo isnt scarce but the tools needed to stand against an oppressor arnt there the governments air capabilities and armored trucks are something that no country has stood over a few months against yes we as Americans are armed to the teeth but the actual ability to use tactical thinking and survive isnt there because morality has been flushed out of the people. To stand against such a thing is to sacrifice ones life for the good of others tell that to the 15 year old gang bangers across America who will enter your homes at gunpoint to steal kill and rape. Ya youl defend your home the first few times but as things get hard youl have to face harder facts of life like feeding your family and caring for the sick. Cant do that behind a gun. SO When it FAILS for real whats more important to you Just remember AMERICA doesnt love it hates history is proof of that and no amount of ammo will stop whats going to happen.

            • Could not agree more. No amount of ammo will stop what is coming our way. It will be the wrath of God of which no man has control. Better start living your life as if it was the last day. Love your family and be a true friend to your friends.

      6. We were spoon-fed all our lives and THOUGHT we were free. We didn’t know we were socialists. What we are witnessing is the DEATH of socialism.

        • Bingo!

        • What? You ever even read Marx or Trotsky? The US is not socialist ffs! Get your political philosophies right at least fella jeez

      7. I can’t tell you haow many calls I have been on regarding crazed people where the first thing the witness tells you is “He/She is off his/her Meds”. This is a very astute observation by the author in what will result when 10% of the population is Off Their Meds.

Scary thought especially if there are weapons available.

        • Ssshhhh……I have the lead pill cure.

        • As a 20 year vet of a major PD in the US, I actually shot a man when he went off his meds and tried to kill me with an axe. I couldn’t agree more.

        • Thankfully, they won’t last long without their drugs.

        • many cases in the future when you hear someone is off their meds. Meds will mean they’re off their meth, cocaine, crack, heirom ect.

      8. It will all depend on where one lives, how one lives and why one lives, and, if one is able to contain the Fire within.

From landscapes resembling Hell to landscapes resembling Heaven and everything in between.

      9. Very well stated..

I pray this ALL does Not Happen.. It would be HELL on Earth!! At this point it’s really out out of our hands.. And until something Big happens… Most of the lazy, obese and freeloading parasites in this country will continue to live in the Manner that they know best… “The American Way.”
Once this way is take away.. Is when the SHTF! It would be To late at that point to change…And we ALL will face our own demons. Those whom aren’t prepared Will parish.. Those whom choose to survive.. “Will” but at great sacrifice..

I feel it in my bones.. It’s not much longer that the USA can hold it all together before the usd $ falls flat..

Until then.. I fight poverty..I work!

Pray for the best – BUT- Always prepare for the Worst.

        • I have thought about this kind of situation for a couple of years now and how to prepare for it, and I have no doubt its coming. My wife came on board 5 or 6 months ago and recently our kids came around to. I am loading up on anything I can think of. Food stores, hardware, protection, water and power sources, communication devices, fuels stores.
This might be all for not, one way or the other. There is a slim possibility this won’t come to fruition then there is a possibility there is one well placed shot and it’s all over for me. Who knows?
We believe in spirit and karma, the rest is up to what ever happens next.
I figure the first 3 weeks for us will be the roughest. We live 15 miles out of town and a good rifle shot between 2 major north/south and east/west freeways from a 15 million population that will be looking to get out of dodge when the shit hits. By the time they get this far they will be running out of gas, food and water, and here we sit. This won’t be enjoyable at all. I have run scads of scenarios about this and how we will survive and what we will have to see and endure as we do. This is going to be pitiful. My wife and I just read One second after, wow how enlightening.
          Good Luck to all…………….

      10. I hope for the last paragraph.

My confidence and participation ended long ago. Join me in routing out the bankers in memory of Andrew Jackson.

        • YOu know, I have a theory about Andrew Jackson. Apparently he was kind of a mean, very foul mouthed bastard.

…I think I know why! He saw the world for what it was and he did not like it! He tried to change it but at tremendous personal cost.

I’d be glad to join you on your “route”. Do you advocate the use of hemp, nylon, polyester or sisal? …or lead?

          😉

          • You made an interesting point (perhaps without realising it).

“He saw the world for what it was and he did not like it! He tried to change it but at tremendous personal cost.”

How much carnage, both mental and physical, have been generated because somebody didn’t “like it”. We should all try to accept things instead of insisting on changing them to suit OUR perception of how things ought to be.

Don’t get me wrong. There are things that SHOULD be changed, primarily because these things don’t suit ANYONE’S perception of how things ought to be. But there ARE things that may simply oppose our PERSONAL viewpoint that should simply be accepted (at best) or ignored (at worst). In time, we might even come to understand why these things are the way they are.

I probably just fried someone’s brain cells, and I don’t have examples. I just know that this has happened to me often enough that I learned early on to “let it be”. And, later, as I said, I realised why those things were as they were. Usually, there was a damn good reason.

            • CS, I know what you mean. I somewhat misrepresented myself. The world tries to present itself in a certain way. I think Andrew Jackson saw the world for what it was. …and what it was was evil and greedy.

I absolutely agree with you: there are many things that don’t “Fit Your Thinking” but its none of your concern and you should let it be. I don’t think those kinds of things are what made Andrew Jackson mean, I thin it was things that really need changing.

What you talk about is part of what is wrong with America. People want to change things to fit their personal preferences when those things they want to change are none of their damned business. The funny thing is that most of those people have given up trying to change their own lives, without success, and have decided to change other things that they know EVEN LESS about.

No, the idea of freedom and been bred out of most of us. Only a few, 3%, really understand. Most of us are preppers, gun owners and survivalists. Too many people in America want to control others and keep them from prospering. Envious and covetous, that drives much of our legislation. …or used to. Pretty sad.

But, a new day is dawning. All this control takes a huge amount of bribery at the hands of the federal reserve to sustain. Its all dying. …and I simply cannot express how happy I am to see it buckling.

        • I am already with you in that regard.. need to help direct the anger in the rite direction from the now… I have been trying though the past but it isn’t easy, the majority of our people have become very, very ugly.. as example, I see it everyday on these boards with many self righteous holier than thou postings… #1 on the list, Arrogance is the truth..

I will stand by common law and no others..
          enough said.

          • ” I see it everyday on these boards with many self righteous holier than thou postings… #1 on the list, Arrogance is the truth..”

Amen brother & that is exactly why I rarely post on sites anymore. I firmly believe in the right to ones opinion and expression of free speech… however, that being said… their are some GOD DAMN STUPID people who post some of the most rediculous things I’ve ever read!! You can’t logically debate with these morons.

        • thats the best solution if you want successyou take down the supplies of finance,,,,Bankers

      11. I believe you’re referring to the AZ place? I checked
into it a bit last time you mentioned it. Sounds like a
nice place to ‘hang’ whilst the shit hits the fan.

On another note, Mac: Thank you for your continued
dedication and ongoing articles. I have been reading this
site for , maybe, 2 years? I come here almost daily, and
your articles are well written and entertaining. I
        thought I’d just leave a hat tip………..Harry

        • Harry: A perfect spot for motorhomes and campers. Bring your preps and tools.

      12. Three words: SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!

        • Here’s three more words: “God Bless America”?
By saying that, I simply mean that our country (as a whole) HASN’T let God be in charge, and look where we are…

      13. With our ability to believe all the “America is the greatest in the history of the world!” b.s., the riots will be HUGE!!!!!!!

      14. For quite a while we actually WERE the best, there really is no way to deny that when the best were coming here and the government was small. Yes, we started getting TOO involved in others business (some is necessary) BUT there is always someone out there to try and take down the best out of jealousy, fear, inferiority complex, whatever, and thats whats happened. A massive move against us by most of the world and the NWO’ers along with ignorance, incompetence (and enemies) within have what destroyed us.

      15. URP ( unrelated post ). CME just raised margin requirements on gold futures by 22.2% effective close of business on Thursday..

        • Gold at 1817.60 prior to announcement. At 1787.65 now.

      16. The big cities will be first New York ,Chicago, L.A., and Atlanta then it will spread to smaller ones. For those who for some reason havent prepared when you see the first big riots in the cities go and empty your account and buy guns, ammo, food. For those who have prepared get a rocking chair and your 12 gauge and a box of shells and sit back and watch the show.

        • Oakland Ca…..I’m 75 miles away and don’t feel real safe

          • Jim; You aren’t. Get above 5,000 feet.

          • I would not feel safe in Oakland

        • crash and burn, You are rite but don’t forget the 4th largest city, Houston. they will not be immune even if some will want to think so..lol, no big city’s will be immune period.

          • Didn’t Houston inherit a lot of “Katrina refugees”?

            • Yes, and we’re praying the price!

        • C & B..you know it will be too late then…prepare now!!

        • It’s often hard to get $1500 cash out of a bank, so don’t expect to be able to pull everything out when the chaos starts. Start pulling out now, convert to small bills, and bury it if you need to.

      17. Seek Him now while He may still be found.

        • Amen, sister!

        • Here I is!

      18. silver shield is one of those schizophrenic people who hate America and capitalism yet supposedly want to have what our founding fathers envisioned. He/she uses a mixed rhetoric of marxist and libertarian ideas without realizing they are the anti-thesis of each other.

America is not the problem, the corrupt “progressive” government is……….

        • Amen!

Glad I wasn’t the only one going back and forth trying to get a grip on his/her philosophy!

          Where’s my Dramamine???

        • Actually JJ silver shields real name is Chris Duane and he’s an ex-marine who served for seven years. He is NOT schizophrenic nor is he a marxist who hates america & capitalism. Infact he’s quite the opposite & is trying to wake people up to the elitist agenda and showing people the value of sound money inwhich he believes silver is more precious than gold. Perhaps maybe you should take a better look at what he has to say by visiting his daily blog at http://www.dont-tread-on.me/ and also visit http://sonsoflibertyacademy.com/

You are entitled to your opinion… I never debate someones RIGHT to their opinion… but I will debate their viewpoint. In this case I respectfully disagree with what you wrote & hope to guide you to wisdom.

        • What Capitalism? The banks skim off the top like the mafia in Vegas. The US is a Nationalist Socialist empire by exact definition. Anyone who doesn’t see that is in total denial.

        • Where did you get the idea that the founding fathers would have embraced capitalism? They were mercantilists, and also, in deference to religious beliefs, doled out a lot of money to help the less fortunate. NOWHERE in the constitution is ANY economic system enshrined. The worst part is that folks like you can’t see that around the bend is a society controlled as servile by few capitalists (oligarchs), or a socialist sytem… just by your own “rhetoric” it’s easy to see that you won’t let others, let alone yourself embrace liberty because you fear it.

      19. I have warned a few of my friends that the first people to go stupid are the one’s that can’t get their drugs, meds and alcohol.

Yes, I can see violence erupting in america with in about three weeks of a collapse.

        • I fear that you are overly optimistic. A lot of people will be armed versions of the thugs in the UK and will immediately try to take advantage of a crisis.

      20. Good article with some pertinent observations. The author should have used a spell and phrase checker though. I do disagree with some of the points; but heck, we’ve never been through a societal collapse; so his opinion is about as good as any other. Whatever happens, if an when it does, it is not going to be nice nor pretty.

        • My city probably came close to that societal collapse beginning in 1873 with the yellow fever epidemic. We actually had two of those. Some 80% of the population either fled (if they had the money to do so and somewhere to go) or, literally, lay dead in the streets. Commerce halted as the city was avoided at all costs. The city even lost its charter for 20 years. But, those remaining, generally too poor to do otherwise, came together despite their ethnic, religious or any other differences. Whores became saints, making an impromptu hospital of a brothel, and made history. The community survived, then thrived. The charter was recovered. Life went on.

There are certainly more people and more factors in play today, but we have that history between us also. For my town, I predict an astounding increase in the number of justifiable homicides early on. That will eliminate a lot of repetitive actions by the same individuals. And, actually, we’ve seen that already. In recent years, the city went from some 5,000 carry permit holders to more than 25,000. The murder rate dropped significantly when the number of justifiable homicides jumped some 300%. A lot of “the bad” that happens is perpetrated by a select few doing the same crap over and over. If they’re taken out by the third stunt, well, how many dozens does that prevent?

I don’t know about the rest of America, but here, though it’s bound to be a wild ride early on, we shall overcome… and likely quicker than many other locales.
          (Knock on wood.)

      21. Order out of chaos, its on the back of the FRN we carry around in our wallets, the elite are not going to give up their power. God only knows what they have stored up/planned for the masses. My responsibility is to resist, protect what and whom I can. It’s not gonna be pretty, but the ending was already written!

      22. Be sure to acquire items you use that are made outside the U.S.. Stores will close down during violent civil unrest and many will never open their doors again. When the smoke settles and stores do open, a lot of the products you take for granted may not be available for a very long time. Plastic ziplock bags, shoes, electronics, batteries, clothes,,,, lots of things you will have to learn to do without.
        Gear Up & Good Luck

        • We may still have the junk available, but if the dollar devalues vs foreign currencies, the items will cost much more. But I agree, stock up on whatever anyway. Shaving razors, condoms, shaving cream, blank cds, printer paper, tires – all the crap you routinely use, it’s nice to have a stockpile of.

      23. Just wondering has anybody joined up on the Son of Liberty?

        • yes

          • Informative???

      24. Mac,

Another fine article you’ve pulled in. Thanks again.

        Everyone,

As collapse gets ever closer, remember: Security first. Once you get out of the city, if you have any food or other supplies if you don’t have any guns and the willingness to use them you’ll soon lose everything. EVERYTHING. You won’t be able to protect yourself, your supplies or your neighbor’s supplies. To not have the proper equipment to survive this collapse that is coming is simply irresponsible. Get the stuff you need, but first, get the stuff you need to protect the stuff you need. Skipping the part that protects the stuff you need means you’ll have nothing.

Here are a couple plans. If you don’t know anything about guns, you should.

        Cheap but adequate:

NEF Break Action Buck Blaster shotgun, 12ga, 200 rounds of anything #5 and larger.

        Hi-Point C9, 500 rounds of ammo.

Ruger 10/22 (rural), Hi-Point Carbine (urban), 1000 rounds of ammo.

        Expensive but not extravagant:

Remington 870 Riot Shotgun, 12 ga, extended tube, 400 rounds of anything #5 or larger.

        M1911 45ACP Pistol, 500 rounds of ammo.

Good 22lr bolt gun, 1000 rounds of ammo.

Ruger Mini14 or an AR15, 223, 1000 rounds of ammo.

        • Just a side note to this list if you are not skilled with a rifle I would suggest picking up one the new high powered pellet guns, this would allow you to not only pratice shooting, but it can be done in your own back yard if you live in town, not to mention it sure cuts down on the birds that crap on the cars. LOL I picked up the gamo big cat for $120.00 and after getting it scoped in its very effective plus you can shoot 1000 rounds of lead for around $3.00 and it will shoot at 1000 fps in a shtf time silent hunting maybe very good. Just a thought for some of the newbies that didn’t get to grow up with guns like myself.

          DPS

          • DPS, excellent suggestion! A good 22cal air rifle could easily be used for small game and pest elimination. …and its very silent. I used CCI CB Longs. They spit out a 29gr slug at 700fps, just about double the muzzle energy of a good 22cal air rifle.

            • NetRanger

Yep gotta love those cb longs, but I live in the city limits and hate when PD knocks on my door. I have a few 22cals but with this gamo I can shoot in the back yard anytime I want. Me and a buddy did a test on this gun and found with the alloy pellets and shot 1249fps and at 175 ft my grouping is the size of a half dollar. The 22cal shot the same grouping at this distance but at 1080fps. I will never give up my 22’s but damn that little pellet gun sure is fun. And 1000 rnds for under $10.00 and for that price I’ll have to sit on my 10,000 rnds.

              DPS

            • Well, the CBs probably wouldn’t bring the cops but they’d still be upset if they found out!

An inch and a half at 60 yards? Dang! thats pretty good. What model gamo is that? I need one! 🙂

Of course the pellets are only 15 grains or so but well within useable for small game.

I’ve been doing a little studying and there are quite a few 25 cal air rifles that pack a little more punch too. They even make 9mm and 45 cal air guns. But, the problem with those is that you have to charge them from a scuba tank. The 25s, though, are hand pumped.

            • NetRanger,
I picked up the gamo bigcat its a 177cal and I can tell the stats on this gun are very impressive so far, like I said the bird crap on my truck is way down and the cats are getting pretty fat.My grouping is way kewl after my post earlier i tryed it at 50 yrds. and still keep it within a 4 inch pattern. with the alloy pellets. And this comes from a basic toy, but the numbers don’t lie so pick up one of these. However if I had it to do it again I would have to go with the whisper for $70 more, That little gun is very quiet.

              DPS

        • Drop the hipoint and pick up a barely used P89 hi cap 9mm. In a riot a hi cap piece is essential…

          • Jim, don’t worry about the riot. Avoid them. But, the P89 is an upgrade for sure. Just about double the money, though.

        • Don’t want to sound like a gun nut, but totally agree that what’s yours is yours only until somebody can take it from you.

        • Hi-Point C9?…Really? You should never recommend one of these to anybody-not in good conscience at least.

It retails for $189.00 for a reason…It’s a piece of $h!t and you would be ill-advised to use/count on it for self defense!

You’d be much better off spending the $200.00 on the Henry .22 cal. survival rifle that breaks down and stores in it’s own butt stock.

          • Really? Is that your informed opinion? I own 5 Hi-Points. All are reliable and all are far more accurate than any guns costing 3 times the amount.

In fact, there are a group of us around here that use Hi-Point conversations to find out who knows their stuff about firearms. People that talk shit about Hi-Points get ignored.

Go buy your foreign made junk. I’ll buy my American made stuff with a lifetime warranty and lo-cap mags and put the rest in silver.

Go pedal your high priced pistol philosophy somewhere else. I’ve had them all and your haughty anti- HP attitude will get you killed when SHTF.

Your attitude is limiting, arrogant and, frankly, stupid.

BTW, there is a reason they come stock with 8 round mags: they actually hit what you aim at. With the others, you’ll need the extra rounds to actually hit what you’re aiming at. I’ve owned Sigs, Glocks, Smiths and Colts. Never had a gun that would group better than my $139 Hi-Point C9, 9mm. (…of which I own 3.) Its comical when I go to a range. People that have that haughty cheap pistol attitude STFU once they see the groups.

            • Hipoint 9 is a very lost cost but well built gun. I have shot this little 9mm just once and did enjoy it, low cap mag was my reason for not buying one. I settled with a s&w9ve for $279.00 and a beretta 92fs both shot very well and both have hi cap mags. The beretta ran $546.00 new but you get what you pay for, My s&w had some trigger problems very hard pull which made it hard to get use to, How ever I did learn some things about this trigger. First and formost DO NOT change out the striker spring for the wolf 3.5lb spring , test fire showed out of 100rnds I had 9 no fires and this is from a gun that has never misfired in the 3000 rnds prior to the fix. After doing some research I found a video on the problem, come to find out the trigger was made to be stiff for the LEO’s to avoid I guess shooting their own foot off.LOL. Anyway I did the fix and it cost nothing just alittle time. After 100 rnds and no misfires it shoots a well as the beretta and I prefer carrying it because its so light. But hey carry what makes you feel safe. Academy sports carries the s&w signa in a 9mm or 40cal for $279.00 everyday and for that price you can pick up some extra mags. below you will find the link for the trigger fix.

              Stay safe folks

            • An inexpensive weapon like the Hi Point, an SKS, or many others can be very reliable. The AR snobs and their 1500 dollar larues mocked my home built model on a cheap 139 dollar Plum Crazy lower……my rifles haven’t failed me at the range and I hit everything they hit. Nice thing about your hi points is the trade value later….after the SHTF and some normalcy returns.

            • lol…ok man…whatever you want to tell yourself! I buy american and, any other weapon from any country that’s reliable. HP’s are $h!t…just cause you & your buddies use ’em don’t change that dude, sorry.

And yes, that’s my informed opinion! Use whatever ya want though by all means! I’m one of those people that believes we should remove the warning labels in life for people like you & just let the problem sort itself out on it’s own! You and your HP will be a fine example of that.

They wear out quickly, have come apart on the range (I’ve seen it happen on two occasions) and their fire control groups (that’s the actual wording for trigger Net Ranger) are crap.

Again, that’s ok Net a/k/a Gecko45…load up on whatever ya want. I’ll come by and pick up your preps afterwards…

            • I suspect there will be a lot of upgrading of munitions after the first skirmish anyway. Use what is comfortable for you until then.

        • Wow why so much? You are talking what $10 to $12k in weapons and ammo?
Here’s a cheaper way if they haven’t got weapons now.
A bolt action .22 and LR ammo. Range $200 to $500 Small animals and wounding assailants.
A Mosin Nagant 91/30 7.62x54r and a case of Russian ammo 880 rnds $300 to $500 large animals and knocking down assailants at a distant.
A Remington 12 Ga pump and 400 rnds of #4 and some game loads, $400 to $500 Fowl, small animals CQB and taking down a lot of assailants.
Pistols and nice and convenient but a little pricey for most. Black guns are way out of the park price wise for most people. Not to mention most don’t know how to use them. There is a lot of guns in this country but to there a load of people that don’t own one and in this scenario my guess would be they would only think of owning one as they are hiding in the closet franticly punching 911 as intruders are kicking down the front door.
Something is going to be better than nothing IE Don’t ever be involved in a gun fight holding a steak knife. Everybody FEARS a shotgun and even a 5 year old knows the sound of a round being racked in.
If I was an unarmed white collar pencil pusher my first choice would be the shotgun followed by the .22 and last the Mosin.

          • Already have a S&W sw9ve and 500 rounds of 9mm ammo. Getting ready to pick me up a mosin nagant (for hunting & long range shooting) in the very near future and also plan on picking me up a remington 887 tactical in the fall. I’m still on the fence about choosing between an AR-15 or an AK-47, I’m familiar with the AR from the military days & like it’s accuracy, but like the reliablity of the AK.

            http://www.ar-15.us/AR-15vsAR-180.php

As for a high powered pellet gun, I’ve thought about that too. It’s nice to see someone else saying it though… definately going to look into that as well.

            • Cynical
Have you done anything to the trigger yet? I have sw9ve and did a trigger mod and damn I love it now.

              DPS

            • Cynical O;
I have 6 Mosins and love them, a few of them might be traded or bartered. I bought 5 of them an a deal, $70 each if you buy 5 or more. $70 bucks? You can’t buy a .22 for that. I have been buying 7.62×39 and I don’t even own an AK. I’ll imagine that after all of the ammunition is shot out AK and SKSs will be common place and easy to acquire. A friend of mine just got back from the sandbox and he said an AK can be had in Iraq for $20 bucks, it’s the ammo that is expensive. I have a tendency to center off onto the mostly common guns with common ammo. .22, .223, 9mm, 7.62×51, 12 gauge, exotic guns are nice when you can find the ammo but when you run out you end up with a fancy stick. Not good! With the Mosins I buy the ammo by the cases, hell it’s cheap! If you go to the right places. Off of the shelf 54r is a buck or more a shot. 147gr steel core at 500 meters, shit I wouldn’t want to tangle with it. I get an 880 round case at my door for about $200. The FFL I deal with told me that there is a movement to keep the Mosins out of the country. I know the Russians at the end of WW2 stashed 17 million of these rifles away in issue ready condition with the anticipation of WW3 with us. And billions of rounds stacked out in spam cans. As a result the stuff is cheap and plentiful. If nothing else their a great starter gun.

          • I personally would just keep low profile til everyone else has exhaused their ammo because once it’s gone there will be no more,.
I would store a couple good flint locks and extra parts as flint can alway be found and black powder can always be made.there’ll be plenty of lead laying around in old car batteries

            • Black powder will be king when all the caps are busted

            • Huh? 50 million homes have guns….
              Ave 1,000 rnds per home ( hey I’m at 40k) ….
              Means 50 billion rounds

If you wait for the last shots to be fired you best be immortal because no one here today lives that long.

          • Jim

50 million people may have guns and they may all have 1000 rds of ammo and a few people like you may have 40 thou rounds of ammo but within 6 months of a total collapse all those guns and ammo will wind up in probably a couple thousand hands or in the hands of different militia groups. I know everyone who has a gun has some romantic idea that they’ll be the next rambo if the SHsTF and take on the world, I say good luck to them

            • “They drew first blood!!”

              Sorry… I coudn’t resist…;)

            • What you say makes perfect sense. If TSHTF that badly,
              we will all die!
Frankly, if the World gets that bad, I don’t see what the draw in America will be? We will all starve or be blown to pieces eventually!

          • Hard to beat an 870 (even low end one) or Mossburg. I know several people who bought Tokarev 9mm pistols. They (the guns) are ugly, but every time the trigger was pulled, they all went bang!

            • I bought the Mossberg pump cause I like the safety and forward action button configuration. The 870 seemed backwards to me. IMHO Add the six war adjustable stock from ATI…priceless.

          • Nice to see that their are still some out there who believes in those old bolt action rifles.I have a Swedish Mauser, (M96). It is 6.5×55 cal. I can shoot the eyes out of a fly with it useing iron sights. This was made in 1900. Workmanship is superb.Since this only has a 5 rd. capacity, it is not very desirable for a mass attack, but with a fixed 9″ long bayonet and my boys behind me with the AR and Uzi, I feel very confidant that I can hold off a looting in my home from 5 to 20 gangbangers. I have a Walther PPK in .380,(9mm short), that I use for greeting the doorbell, (in peacetime or not). When useing the old Mauser in the defense of my home, I will also have either my Colt Govt. Model..(.45)stuffed in my belt, or a SW Model 19, (.357/.38 special…4″barrel)in a holster or stuffed in my back pocket. My battle plan is to hold my home as long as possible. At least I can barricade myself inside. I feel that this is better than bugging out to places unknown and being exposed in the roads or open fields where some psycopath can easily snipe you or a gang of toughs can surround you.(I would rather fight room to room) Bugging out is a last resort for me. As far as .22’s…I like them and have a couple but for my situation, they are only good for small feral dogs.(or as a last ditch weapon)I agree with what some other poster said about shotguns. (12/20 ga. only) They have great fear value with that wide muzzel, esp. with slugs or 00 buckshot, inside it. (great for close confine situations)

        • NR, you may want to consider a Glock Model 21 instead of the 1911. Don’t get me wrong, I love 1911s, but the Glock with a 13 round mag holds nearly twice the cartridges as a 1911. Price for a good used one ($350-400) will be less than a 1911.
The .45 is a great round for killing lots of zombies if it comes to that, but another option (to your “cheap but adequate” list) is a Ruger .22 semi-auto pistol. A 22/45 or an early Mark-series Ruger is a great pistol, and you can still get an insane amount of ammo for it.

      25. Because we have the right and weapons to defend ourselves its nor going to be like any other place on earth.

To put up an picture of Sarah Palin as a representation of America’s arrogance is absolute bull shit. To say its the Tea Party causing the decline is bull shit too and there is a lot of that going on today.

We are, where we are because of corrupt governments around the world. We are here because of moral decay. We are here because everyone wants their rights. Not as defined by God, but as defined by government. We are here because of a lack of personal responsibility and accountability.

These criminals will not burn my business or my home because I will defend myself. I guess I’m just one of those “freaked out white guys” as Meredith Whitney described.

Here is my arrogance; I believe in my God, Duty, Honor, Country and Constitution. Oh yeah I believe I’m better then most too. Wake up America there is a big difference between Arrogance and Confidence.

        • amen!!

        • Well said!

        • Patriot One, where do you see Sarah Palin being shown to represent the tea party ??
all I see is a representation of showing the finger of 1, meaning mass thinking in we are #1 and we are GODS or something.

not to try and piss you off or poke at you, but I am sure you will get mad at how I would respond to someone, telling me what you said, but I am sure you wont give a hoot anyway in what I would say, as you are fired up in defense mode but o well… I will say it.

          I will say,
If you are so into the constitution as you say, why have you allowed them to throw it in the garbage bin over and over again.. yep, that is good confidence in your country that we have even gotten to this point.

what kept you passive in your younger days ?? simple, MONEY.
what makes you think you are better than most now ??, simple, MONEY.
what corrupts politicians ??.. simple, MONEY.
who controls the money… simple, INT BANKERS.
who controls this Country ?? simple, the INT BANKERS.
who controls most ALL country’s ?? simple, the INT BANKERS.
who owns you and made you what you are today even if you do not know it yet ?? simple, The International Bankers.

all money comes from the bank and all money goes back to bank with hard assets as interest.. The entire planet will be theirs unless we all can stop them.

sorry everyone if truth hurts.. we are all in this boat together, so thinking yourself is better, is a joke you are playing on yourself.

I say, take this ‘current’ country with its Mob Rules democracy and stick it.. I want my Constitutional Republic back defending the Constitution and Bill Of Rights in ALL regards, not just what ‘they’ deem correct, ALL of it, or NONE of it after they give me my death. (and they probably will)

Arrogance can also be defined in thinking anyone, or someone has a ‘contract’ with GOD that gives them the right to be able to tell me or anyone period what I or they can, and can not do to themselves or their body’s, or their private property, or as in other foreign lands.. that is not only arrogant but also delusional and power tripping over authority.

Like I said, I am not trying to attack you PO, but if you feel the need to attack me and vent anger.. go ahead, I can take it, I have absorbed my fill from this mob rules hell, that your kicks on me will feel like a child kicking me with words… I truly do wish you the best my fellow American, so don’t get too viral on me, I still think you are pretty cool..lol

          • BlackSheep

I don’t have any need to attack back, your own writings show your true colors and convictions. This is America and I have fought to give you your rights.

            What have you done?

            • Something I came across, lost the link:

millions and millions of Americans hold to the idea that the military defends our freedoms.

“I stomped through the jungles, missed holidays with my family, slept with one eye open for fear that I might have my throat slit or a grenade tossed in my bunker, etc., etc. And while I was doing these things, the very freedoms I was supposedly fighting for were being stripped from me and I now realize that I was only a pawn for the NWO bunch. I killed innocent people who had not attacked my country nor even threatened it. I was a hitman for the banksters. If we were attempting to secure freedom we failed miserably!”

            • The Troops Don’t Defend Our Freedoms

“How often do we hear the claim that American troops “defend our freedoms”? The claim is made often by U.S. officials and is echoed far and wide across the land by television commentators, newspaper columnists, public-school teachers, and many others. It’s even a common assertion that emanates on Sundays from many church pulpits.

Unfortunately, it just isn’t so. In fact, the situation is the exact opposite — the troops serve as the primary instrument by which both our freedoms and well-being are threatened.

Let’s examine the three potential threats to our freedoms and the role that the troops play in them:…”

An Open Letter to the Troops:
              You’re Not Defending Our Freedoms

“…How does the constant threat of terrorist retaliation arising from your actions in Iraq and Afghanistan make us freer here at home, especially when you — the troops — are responsible for engendering the anger and rage that culminates in such threats, owing to what you are doing to people over there?

Consider also what the U.S. government does to our freedoms here at home as a direct consequence of the terrorist threat that you, the troops, are producing over there. It uses that threat of terrorism to infringe upon our freedoms here at home!

…what you are doing is not defending our freedoms, you are jeopardizing them”

I saw a video of Senator John Kerry (yeah the idiot liberal who could have been our president in 2004) talk about “The Tea Party debt downgrade”. Talk about the kettle calling the pot “black”. What a lying sack of @**^. If it were not for the Tea Party no one in Washington would even be complaining about the massive spending, the deficits, and the debt. Thank God for the Tea Party.

        • PO: Plus one.

        • Agree!

        • +1000 Patriot One! I agree 100%

        • Roger that!

Isn’t it funny how corruption perverts the facts and comes up with a truth that is anything but the truth?

        • “why have you allowed them to throw it in the garbage bin over and over again.. yep, that is good confidence in your country that we have even gotten to this point.”

Key word here is “allowed”. You lost me there.

You are assuming a lot there BS.

        • Roge-O PO couldn’t agree more. We as Americans are better because we were founded by patriots and endowed by our creator to be the pointy end of HIS spear!! We who have served our country did so selflessly and willingly but failed to realize that while we were out shedding our blood, sweat and tears in hellholes around the world, sniveling and slimy bastards were plotting behind our backs to take that which we fought so hard to protect. And it was there we erred……we placed trust in those who placed no trust in our great system and country. It is time to strap on the pack and rack a round and once again step to the line….age has no meaning when we defend what we believe in and those we love. I know where I stand and while I may not win in the end I’ll certainly not lay down willingly….rather I’ll fall gasping out my last breath dying with confidence in my choices…….dying on my feet rather than submitting on my knees.

      27. gee, that was an uplifting article. Can’t say I agree with it. Matter of fact found a number of errors. Narcissism is different from idol worshipping. Most Americans are not narcissist but rather idol worshippers.

Many are clueless due to their reliance on TV for their directional propaganda. When they realize the dollar is collapsing they will be caught off guard. Not that they are stupid.

The people will adapt rather quickly. However, I do not in any way, shape of form believe the troops would come home and the wars would end if the dollar collapses.

Matter of fact just the opposite would happen. A draft would be put in place. Martial law declared and we would invade Venezuela, then Iran for their oil. Like Iraq we would get it at gun point. And if we end up in a war with china and Russia our self serving leaders would be just fine with that.

Our media can turn out propaganda like no tomorrow. Most Americans will think China is to blame. Instead of “Shoot a Jap” slogans we will have “Fry the chics” or some crap like that.

The dollar collapsing and our troops coming home would be a dream senario. The best case scenario. Not gonna happen.

Many Christians have had visions of America’s financial collapse, and obviously even non-believers can see it!
But how many are aware of our impending nuclear destruction by Russia and China?
God is bringing these nations together to attack America.
          Why?
          For starters, 50,000,000 abortions (MURDERS).
Did not God say to Abel,
          (Genesis 4:10
The LORD said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.)

50,000,000 million innocent lives MURDERED here in America!!
Blood is on our nation’s hands, and it is crying out to God!!
Mentioning also, God has been kicked out of school, etc., etc., etc….

Many different visions of America’s calamaties, I urge you to read these.

          http://unconstrainedtruth.wordpress.com/2009/10/18/obama-administration-to-show-russia-our-nuclear-sites/

President Obama is allowing Hillary Clinton to meet with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to form a treaty between the US and Russia. This treaty would allow the Russians to visit nuclear sites in America to count missiles and warheads.

          A vision;

Russia Will Attack and Invade America!
Foreign Armies Will Bomb Our Churches and Synagogues

Vision of New York City Bombed by 10 Russian Nuclear Missiles
Around 1986 God took me up into the heavens and I found myself flying like superman through the air. I was in the clouds and the cover was so thick that I could not see my hands in front of my face. I couldn’t understand why I was flying through the air. As I dropped in altitude and started to get below the clouds, I began looking to my left and to my right. As I was looking, I saw five nuclear missiles, long range intercontinental ballistic missiles to my right and to my left. A total of ten missiles! Each one carried multiple warheads with the red Communist star on the fuselage of the missiles. The five pointed red star is the universal representative symbol for Communism. The star that I saw on the missiles looked like the second red star below. At the time of this vision Russia had a red star on their flag which is the first picture below. I feel in my spirit that these will be Russian missiles.

As I looked down to the ground I saw Staten Island, Manhattan Island and New York City. I could not believe that these missiles were getting ready to hit New York with such a magnitude. They were coming right down onto the state of New York. The next thing I knew, I was standing down on the ground looking at all of the devastation. All the buildings were totally annihilated. The big skyscrapers had fallen over as though a domino effect had happened when they were blown up. When they started falling, these skyscrapers fell one against another knocking each other down. There were dead bodies lying everywhere. Tens of thousands were dead and the air smelled of rotting, burning flesh. Not only did the air smell foul but as I looked everything was dark even though it was midday. I could not believe my eyes!

I then sensed time had passed, weeks and months. God then let me see little children taking instruments like butter knives and scraping the corpses of the people that had died. The children were looking for food by scraping the flesh off the people’s bodies only to cause their own death later of radiation poisoning. The devastation was beyond anything of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The death and the disease that broke out after was beyond imagination. I could not believe what I was seeing. I was overwhelmed and sickened by the devastation. I asked God why He showed me this? He said He is going to judge the United States and He’s going to judge it hard. He said that the enemies of the United States are going to attack.

After having this life-like vision of what is coming, it was quickened to me later that Chicago and a lot of other big cities are also going to take a hit. From what I’m receiving right now, this is going to be worse than anything this nation could ever imagine. The American people will not believe what is happening to them. God is going to execute His judgment on this nation and He is going to pay America back double for the sins that have reached into Heaven.

Did you read that article or just copy and paste it? If you really believe what that says then damn you my have got a bad batch as well. Do you really believe that in 1986 this man was flying like superman? Sorry sir but I just can’t get on board with that. But I do believe in Jesus as my saivor and I thank him everyday for dying on the cross for my sins, and with that being said Jrsmac I hope you find the peace in your life you are looking for. But I believe when judgement day comes it will not be just the good ole USA that will be judged.
And to this sir I add we shall all be held accountable!

China has government sanctioned Homosexuality because it has a critical shortage of females. The only enemy America has and always had is greed and the love of extreme wealth! Not some foreign invaders at our borders. If the same holy people who protest at funerals and sit in air conditioned mega-churches actually cared about the poor and homeless, instead of cathering, whorshipping the rich and wicked we would be a better country. Our Aryan arrogance is the problem!! Continue to worship all things blond and blue eyed instead of love for all humanity. Our leaders Our greed Our inability to see Our own fails but never can see the virtue of others. This country is built on supremacy not equality. Gods blessings on the rich and scorn and hatred on the poor.Next time you curse the poor remember 300 million people and 200 million Europeans. Our the majority on welfare. Our majority on food stamps. Browns,Blacks, Reds and Yellows combined don’t add up to over 100 million people. You have let Our own rich lie and deceive us for decades. Vision of New York City Bombed by 10 Russian Nuclear Missiles…………………………………….

          • This is ridiculous! Russia invading the US? The Russians had a hard time defeating the Chechens let alone trying to invade us. Russia’s military is weak and would get its ass kicked in a war with the US. Plus we have nuclear subs in the black sea and Pacific waiting to strike back not to mention our European allies would nuke Russia as well.Have you looked up the Russian navy? It is filled with rusty boats that would break down. The Russian army uses conscripts. This mean moral will be low in a slug out with the US. The Russians will not go further past Alaska!! Seriously stop watching Red Dawn movies.

            • This is almost spot on…..they would get thru Alaska but the Canadians would likely stop them before reaching WA state……just saying!

            • Rachel: You were doing great until that 4th paragraph. NO draft. There would be blood in the streets.

Invade Venezuela? I would be just happy if ILLEGAL Latino Nation went home.

Ever heard of Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD)?

            • MA: Good analysis! Not to mention that a new Poland and a restored german power would like to get a crack at that Russian conscript army.

Without nukes Russia hasn’t got a prayer.

            • If things are so bad in this country that we’re all hiding behind a tree with a gun and forging for food or setting on a bucket of rice in the basement, pissing in a pail with a gun cradeled in our arms, the rest of the world will already be eating the bark off the trees, they’ll not be attacking America.

          • Another BS many believe, that all others are out to get us.
Russia and has no interest of invading us, don’t flatter yourself.
I am not sure about China, they may need more room for all their people, but that would be the only reason 🙂
Unlike, the US, other countries are not interested in being empires. Seriously. Most just want to be left alone.
Get over yourself, nobody needs to invade us, we’ll do all the destroying ourselves.

          • I still believe that the nation that forgets God will be turned into hell.
That being said it seems this fella(with the vision) got a bad batch of something he ingested.

            • REB, ‘bad batch’ that was good..lol 🙂

      32. Sorry for this long post, but I am getting tired of a few dolts who post regularly here who adamantly and ignorantly claim hyperinflation is rare and can never happen here. It in fact already has happened in the U.S. once before, and in a number of countries multiple times!!

        Examples of Hyperinflation

        Angola

Angola experienced hyperinflation from 1991-1995. It was a result of exchange restrictions following the introduction of the novo kwanza (AON) to replace the original kwanza (AOK) in 1990. At the first months of 1991, the highest denomination was 50 000 AON. By 1994, the highest denomination was 500 000 kwanzas. In the 1995 currency reform, the readjusted kwanza (AOR) replaced the novo kwanza at the ratio of 1 000 AON to 1 AOR, but hyperinflation continued as further denominations of up to 5 000 000 AOR were issued. In the 1999 currency reform, the kwanza (AOA) was reintroduced at the ratio of 1 million AOR to 1 AOA. Currently, the highest denomination banknote is 2 000 AOA and the overall impact of hyperinflation was 1 AOA = 1 billion AOK.
        [edit] Argentina

Argentina went through steady inflation from 1975-1991. At the beginning of 1975, the highest denomination was 1,000 pesos. In late 1976, the highest denomination was 5,000 pesos. In early 1979, the highest denomination was 10,000 pesos. By the end of 1981, the highest denomination was 1,000,000 pesos. In the 1983 currency reform, 1 Peso argentino was exchanged for 10,000 pesos. In the 1985 currency reform, 1 austral was exchanged for 1,000 pesos argentinos. In the 1992 currency reform, 1 new peso was exchanged for 10,000 australes. The overall impact of hyperinflation: 1 (1992) peso = 100,000,000,000 pre-1983 pesos.
[edit] Criticism of the official view

        Austria

In 1922, inflation in Austria reached 1426%, and from 1914 to January 1923, the consumer price index rose by a factor of 11836, with the highest banknote in denominations of 500,000 krones.[18]
        [edit]

        Belarus

Belarus experienced steady inflation from 1994-2002. In 1993, the highest denomination was 5,000 rublei. By 1999, it was 5,000,000 rublei. In the 2000 currency reform, the ruble was replaced by the new ruble at an exchange rate of 1 new ruble = 1,000 old rublei. The highest denomination in 2008 was 100,000 rublei, equal to 100,000,000 pre-2000 rublei.
        [edit]

        Bolivia

Bolivia experienced its worst inflation between 1984 and 1986. Before 1984, the highest denomination was 1,000 pesos bolivianos. By 1985, the highest denomination was 10 Million pesos bolivianos. In 1985, a Bolivian note for 1 million pesos was worth 55 cents in US dollars, one-thousandth of its exchange value of $5,000 less than three years previously.[19] In the 1987 currency reform, the Peso Boliviano was replaced by the Boliviano at a rate of 1,000,000 : 1.
        [edit]

        Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina went through its worst inflation in 1993. In 1992, the highest denomination was 1,000 dinara. By 1993, the highest denomination was 100,000,000 dinara. In the Republika Srpska, the highest denomination was 10,000 dinara in 1992 and 10,000,000,000 dinara in 1993. 50,000,000,000 dinara notes were also printed in 1993 but never issued.
        [edit]

        Brazil

From 1986-1994, the base currency unit was shifted three times to adjust for inflation in the final years of the Brazilian military dictatorship era. A 1967 cruzeiro was, in 1994, worth less than one trillionth of a US cent, after adjusting for multiple devaluations and note changes. In that same year, inflation reached a record 2075.8%. A new currency called real was adopted in 1994, and hyperinflation was eventually brought under control.[20] The real was also the currency in use until 1942; 1 (current) real is the equivalent of 2,750,000,000,000,000,000 of Brazil’s first currency (called réis in Portuguese).[dead link][21]
        [edit]

        Bulgaria

In 1996, the Bulgarian economy collapsed due to the BSP’s slow and mismanaged economic reforms, its disastrous agricultural policy, and an unstable and decentralized banking system, which led to an inflation rate of 311% and the collapse of the lev, with the exchange rate to dollars reaching 3000. When pro-reform forces came into power in the spring 1997, an ambitious economic reform package, including introduction of a currency board regime and pegging the Bulgarian Lev to the German Deutsche Mark (and consequently to the euro), was agreed to with the IMF and the World Bank, and the economy began to stabilize.
        [edit]

        China

As the first user of fiat currency, China has had an early history of troubles caused by hyperinflation. The Yuan Dynasty printed huge amounts of fiat paper money to fund their wars, and the resulting hyperinflation, coupled with other factors, led to its demise at the hands of a revolution. The Republic of China went through the worst inflation 1948-49. In 1947, the highest denomination was 50,000 yuan. By mid-1948, the highest denomination was 180,000,000 yuan. The 1948 currency reform replaced the yuan by the gold yuan at an exchange rate of 1 gold yuan = 3,000,000 yuan. In less than a year, the highest denomination was 10,000,000 gold yuan. In the final days of the civil war, the Silver Yuan was briefly introduced at the rate of 500,000,000 Gold Yuan. Meanwhile the highest denomination issued by a regional bank was 6,000,000,000 yuan (issued by Xinjiang Provincial Bank in 1949). After the renminbi was instituted by the new communist government, hyperinflation ceased with a revaluation of 1:10,000 old Renminbi in 1955.
        [edit]

        Free City of Danzig

Danzig went through its worst inflation in 1923. In 1922, the highest denomination was 1,000 Mark. By 1923, the highest denomination was 10,000,000,000 Mark.
        [edit]

        Georgia

Georgia went through its worst inflation in 1994. In 1993, the highest denomination was 100,000 coupons [kuponi]. By 1994, the highest denomination was 1,000,000 coupons. In the 1995 currency reform, a new currency, the lari, was introduced with 1 lari exchanged for 1,000,000 coupons.
        [edit]

        Germany
        (Weimar Republic)

Germany went through its worst inflation in 1923. In 1922, the highest denomination was 50,000 Mark. By 1923, the highest denomination was 100,000,000,000,000 Mark. In December 1923 the exchange rate was 4,200,000,000,000 Marks to 1 US dollar.[22] In 1923, the rate of inflation hit 3.25 × 106 percent per month (prices double every two days). Beginning on 20 November 1923, 1,000,000,000,000 old Marks were exchanged for 1 Rentenmark so that 4.2 Rentenmarks were worth 1 US dollar, exactly the same rate the Mark had in 1914.[22]
        [edit]

        Greece

Greece went through its worst inflation in 1944. In 1942, the highest denomination was 50,000 drachmai. By 1944, the highest denomination was 100,000,000,000 drachmai. In the 1944 currency reform, 1 new drachma was exchanged for 50,000,000,000 drachmai. Another currency reform in 1953 replaced the drachma at an exchange rate of 1 new drachma = 1,000 old drachmai. The overall impact of hyperinflation: 1 (1953) drachma = 50,000,000,000,000 pre 1944 drachmai. The Greek monthly inflation rate reached 8.5 billion percent in October 1944.
        [edit]

        Hungary, 1922-1924

The Treaty of Trianon and political instability between 1919 and 1924 led to a major inflation of Hungary’s currency. Unable to tax adequately, the government resorted to printing money and by 1922 inflation in Hungary had reached 98% per month.
The 100 million b.-pengő note was the highest denomination of banknote ever issued, worth 1020 or 100 quintillion Hungarian pengő (1946).
        [edit]

        Hungary, 1945-1946

Hungary went through the worst inflation ever recorded between the end of 1945 and July 1946. In 1944, the highest denomination was 1,000 pengő. By the end of 1945, it was 10,000,000 pengő. The highest denomination in mid-1946 was 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pengő. A special currency the adópengő – or tax pengő – was created for tax and postal payments.[23] The value of the adópengő was adjusted each day, by radio announcement. On 1 January 1946 one adópengő equaled one pengő. By late July, one adópengő equaled 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 2×1021 pengő. When the pengő was replaced in August 1946 by the forint, the total value of all Hungarian banknotes in circulation amounted to one tenth of one US cent.[24] It is the most severe known incident of inflation recorded, peaking at 1.3 × 1016 percent per month (prices double every 15 hours).[25] The overall impact of hyperinflation: On 18 August 1946, 400,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 4×1029 (four hundred octillion (short scale)) pengő became 1 forint.

Some historians believe[26] that this hyperinflation was purposely started by trained Russian Marxists in order to destroy the Hungarian middle and upper classes.
        [edit]

        Israel

Inflation accelerated in the 1970s, rising steadily from 13% in 1971 to 111% in 1979. From 133% in 1980, it leaped to 191% in 1983 and then to 445% in 1984, threatening to become a four-digit figure within a year or two. In 1985 Israel froze most prices by law[citation needed] and enacted other measures as part of an economic stabilization plan. That same year, inflation more than halved, to 185%. Within a few months, the authorities began to lift the price freeze on some items; in other cases it took almost a year. By 1986, inflation was down to 19%.
        [edit]

        Krajina

The Republic of Serbian Krajina went through its worst inflation in 1993. In 1992, the highest denomination was 50,000 dinara. By 1993, the highest denomination was 50,000,000,000 dinara. Note that this unrecognized country was reincorporated into Croatia in 1995.
        [edit]

        Mexico

In spite of the Oil Crisis of the late 1970s (Mexico is a producer and exporter), and due to excessive social spending, Mexico defaulted on its external debt in 1982. As a result, the country suffered a severe case of capital flight and several years of hyperinflation and peso devaluation. On 1 January 1993, Mexico created a new currency, the nuevo peso (“new peso”, or MXN), which chopped 3 zeros off the old peso, an inflation rate of 10,000% over the several years of the crisis. (One new peso was equal to 1000 of the obsolete MXP pesos).

        North Korea, 1947-2009

Though the North Korean won never technically failed, and is still the official currency of the reclusive communist nation, a 2009 revaluation showed the rest of the world rare cracks in the monolithic image Pyongyang presents. The government gave citizens seven days to turn in their old won for new won — with 1,000 of the old worth 10 of the new — but allowed a maximum exchange of 150,000 of the old won, or about $40 worth. The revaluation and exchange cap wiped out the savings of many North Koreans, and reportedly caused unrest in parts of the country. According to a September 2009 BBC report, some department stores in Pyongyang even stopped accepting North Korean won, instead insisting upon payment in U.S. dollars or Japanese yen.

Nicaragua went through the worst inflation from 1987-1990. From 1943-April 1971, one US dollar equalled 7 córdobas. From April 1971-early 1978, one US dollar was worth 10 córdobas. In early 1986, the highest denomination was 10,000 córdobas. By 1987, it was 1,000,000 córdobas. In the 1988 currency reform, 1 new córdoba was exchanged for 10,000 old córdobas. The highest denomination in 1990 was 100,000,000 new córdobas. In the 1991 currency reform, 1 new córdoba was exchanged for 5,000,000 old córdobas. The overall impact of hyperinflation: 1 (1991) córdoba = 50,000,000,000 pre-1988 córdobas.

        Peru

Peru experienced its worst inflation from 1988-1990. In the 1985 currency reform, 1 inti was exchanged for 1,000 soles. In 1986, the highest denomination was 1,000 intis. But in September 1988, monthly inflation went to 132%. In August 1990, monthly inflation was 397%. The highest denomination was 5,000,000 intis by 1991. In the 1991 currency reform, 1 nuevo sol was exchanged for 1,000,000 intis. The overall impact of hyperinflation: 1 nuevo sol = 1,000,000,000 (old) soles.

        Philippines

The Japanese government occupying the Philippines during the World War II issued fiat currencies for general circulation. The Japanese-sponsored Second Philippine Republic government led by Jose P. Laurel at the same time outlawed possession of other currencies, most especially “guerilla money.” The fiat money was dubbed “Mickey Mouse Money” because it is similar to play money and is next to worthless. Survivors of the war often tell tales of bringing suitcase or bayong (native bags made of woven coconut or buri leaf strips) overflowing with Japanese-issued bills. In the early times, 75 Mickey Mouse pesos could buy one duck egg.[27] In 1944, a box of matches cost more than 100 Mickey Mouse pesos.[28]

In 1942, the highest denomination available was 10 pesos. Before the end of the war, because of inflation, the Japanese government was forced to issue 100, 500 and 1000 peso notes.

        Poland, 1921-1924

After Poland’s independence in 1918, the country soon began experiencing extreme inflation. By 1921, prices had already risen 251 times above those of 1914, but in the following three years they rose by 988,223%[29] with a peak rate in late 1923 of prices doubling every nineteen and a half days.[30] At independence there was 8 marek per US dollar, but by 1923 the exchange rate was 6,375,000 marek (mkp) for 1 US dollar. The highest denomination was 10,000,000 mkp. In the 1924 currency reform there was a new currency introduced: 1 zloty = 1,800,000 mkp.
        [edit]

        Poland, 1989-1991

Poland experienced a second hyperinflation between 1989 and 1991. The highest denomination in 1989 was 200,000 zlotych. It was 1,000,000 zlotych in 1991 and 2,000,000 zlotych in 1992; the exchange rate was 9500 zlotych for 1 US dollar in January 1990 and 19600 zlotych at the end of August 1992. In the 1994 currency reform, 1 new zloty was exchanged for 10,000 old zlotych and 1 US$ exchange rate was ca. 2.5 zlotych (new).

        Republika Srpska

Republika Srpska was a breakaway region of Bosnia. As with Krajina, it pegged its currency, the Republika Srpska dinar, to that of Yugoslavia. Their bills were almost the same as Krajina’s, but they issued fewer and did not issue currency after 1993.
        [edit]

        Romania

Romania experienced hyperinflation in the 1990s. The highest denomination in 1990 was 100 lei and in 1998 was 100,000 lei. By 2000 it was 500,000 lei. In early 2005 it was 1,000,000 lei. In July 2005 the leu was replaced by the new leu at 10,000 old lei = 1 new leu. Inflation in 2005 was 9%. [2] In July 2005 the highest denomination became 500 lei (= 5,000,000 old lei).

        Soviet Union / Russian Federation

Between 1921 and 1922, inflation in the Soviet Union reached 213%.

In 1992, the first year of post-Soviet economic reform, inflation was 2,520%. In 1993, the annual rate was 840%, and in 1994, 224%. The ruble devalued from about 40 r/$ in 1991 to about 5,000 r/$ in late 1997. In 1998, a denominated ruble was introduced at the exchange rate of 1 new ruble = 1,000 pre-1998 rubles. In the second half of the same year, ruble fell to about 30 r/$ as a result of financial crisis.
        [edit]

        Taiwan

As the Chinese Civil War reached its peak, Taiwan also suffered from the hyperinflation that has ravaged China in late 1940s. Highest denomination issued was a 1,000,000 Dollar Bearer’s Cheque. Inflation was finally brought under control at introduction of New Taiwan Dollar in 15 June 1949 at rate of 40,000 old Dollar = 1 New Dollar

        Ukraine

Ukraine experienced its worst inflation between 1993 and 1995. In 1992, the Ukrainian karbovanets was introduced, which was exchanged with the defunct Soviet ruble at a rate of 1 UAK = 1 SUR. Before 1993, the highest denomination was 1,000 karbovantsiv. By 1995, it was 1,000,000 karbovantsiv. In 1996, during the transition to the Hryvnya and the subsequent phase out of the karbovanets, the exchange rate was 100,000 UAK = 1 UAH. This translates to a hyperinflation rate of approximately 1,400% per month. By some estimates, inflation for the entire calendar year of 1993 was 10,000% or higher, with retail prices reaching over 100 times their pre-1993 level by the end of the year.[31]

        United States

During the Revolutionary War, the Continental Congress authorized the printing of paper currency called continental currency. These notes depreciated rapidly, giving rise to the expression “not worth a continental.”

During the U.S. Civil War, between January 1861 and April 1865, the Lerner Commodity Price Index of leading cities in the eastern Confederacy states increased from 100 to over 9,000.[32] As the Civil War dragged on, the Confederate dollar had less and less value, until it was almost worthless by the last few months of the war.
        [edit]

        Yugoslavia
A 500 billion Yugoslav dinar banknote circa 1993, the largest nominal value ever officially printed in Yugoslavia, the final result of hyperinflation.

Yugoslavia went through a period of hyperinflation and subsequent currency reforms from 1989-1994. The highest denomination in 1988 was 50,000 dinars. By 1989 it was 2,000,000 dinars. In the 1990 currency reform, 1 new dinar was exchanged for 10,000 old dinars. In the 1992 currency reform, 1 new dinar was exchanged for 10 old dinars. The highest denomination in 1992 was 50,000 dinars. By 1993, it was 10,000,000,000 dinars. In the 1993 currency reform, 1 new dinar was exchanged for 1,000,000 old dinars. However, before the year was over, the highest denomination was 500,000,000,000 dinars. In the 1994 currency reform, 1 new dinar was exchanged for 1,000,000,000 old dinars. In another currency reform a month later, 1 novi dinar was exchanged for 13 million dinars (1 novi dinar = 1 German mark at the time of exchange). The overall impact of hyperinflation: 1 novi dinar = 1 × 1027~1.3 × 1027 pre 1990 dinars. Yugoslavia’s rate of inflation hit 5 × 1015 percent cumulative inflation over the time period 1 October 1993 and 24 January 1994.
        [edit]

Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo)

Zaire went through a period of inflation between 1989 and 1996. In 1988, the highest denomination was 5,000 zaires. By 1992, it was 5,000,000 zaires. In the 1993 currency reform, 1 nouveau zaire was exchanged for 3,000,000 old zaires. The highest denomination in 1996 was 1,000,000 nouveaux zaires. In 1997, Zaire was renamed the Congo Democratic Republic and changed its currency to francs. 1 franc was exchanged for 100,000 nouveaux zaires. The overall impact of hyperinflation: 1 franc = 3 × 1011 pre 1989 zaires.

        Zimbabwe

Hyperinflation in Zimbabwe was one of the few instances that resulted in the abandonment of the local currency. At independence in 1980, the Zimbabwe dollar (ZWD) was worth about USD 1.25. Afterwards, however, rampant inflation and the collapse of the economy severely devalued the currency. Inflation was steady before Robert Mugabe in 1998 began a program of land reforms that primarily focused on taking land from white farmers and redistributing those properties and assets to black farmers, which sent food production and revenues from export of food plummeting.[33][34][35] The result was that to pay its expenditures Mugabe’s government and Gideon Gono’s Reserve Bank printed more and more notes with higher face values.

        • WW: A lot of good work unfortunately it is not relevant to OUR situation. The examples you cite are third world countries or banana republics. The US dollar IS the world currency controlled by the gangster banksters, who use it to control the world economy through managed trade.

Contrary to some fools who post here, the dollar is still in demand by OUR friends and foes alike. OUR friends have borrowed $16 trillion dollars in the past 2.5 years, and China BUYS more than a billion dollars a day, every day. They can bitch about our printing dollars if they want too, but the fact of the matter is that they want US to print them one billion dollars a day.

Its not how much money is printed that creates hyper-inflation, it is how that money is deployed. If you understood the mechanisms involved in banking you would understand what is happening and why WE do not have hyper-inflation and probably will not have it. Double digit inflation yes, that is the PLAN. Hyper inflation, NO.

Hyper inflation MAY occur in the pole shift, or with a global EMP. It will not happen as a matter of Bernanke’s money management. I don’t say that to support Bernanke, I believe he should be in jail. I say that as a matter of economic reality.

      33. Our children and grand children are our future. Don’t forget to store away some baby formula and other stuff the little ones need. If you are with a church group prepping you should especially put up something the little guys will need to make it through. Clothes, etc. Bring a nurse or doctor into your group.

        • Omega Man,

I agree with you. I have been saving baby items and other stuff for children.

Also, cloth diapers, diaper pins, rubber pants (they now sell these at our local Walmart), baby & childrens clothes, baby & childrens shoes, socks, underware, jackets, coats, etc.

Outlet stores, sales, garage sales often have these items at low prices – especially if you buy in the off season.

        • God bless you for that reminder. Everybody just thinks of canned foods and bullets in these matters. Babies and young children have needs to, and these might not be easy to come by in a pinch.

      34. I don’t even live in the US and it terrifies me!! All those guns, drugs and angry people! Not a good mix! Around the globe, we are bombarded daily with fear and worry and conjecture. Fear of war, fear of total financial collapse, riots, food shortages, gas shortages and job losses and muslims under the bed. This fear emanates from two places, our media and our politicians.
        That’s it!! No where else!!!
Riots and total civil breakdown are not the paths to follow. It just gives encouragement and reason for the power hungry to tighten down the screws!
Ghandi had it right. Total peaceful non compliance by the masses in every aspect of OUR daily lives. If 2 million people sat down in one city ….. How long would it take for the authorities to remove them, one by one?

        • How long would it be before that 2 million had to get up to find a bathroom and then something to eat ?

Oh yeah, and become a mob when they didn’t find either.

          Get a clue, man.

      35. Oh, I don’t know. Seems to me like they’re already here.

I live near the forest mentioned here:

        http://www.infowars.com/detcamp.html

Why would they have signs written in English and Russian at an apparent detention camp IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI?

        • Samurai, dang that is interesting.. if you are by there, can you confirm them signs and such as being there ??

          • YES…post photo’s please….or just send them to MAC..Thanks

        • Interesting…
SFOR (Stabilization Force) is NATO-led multinational peacekeeping force , was used in Bosnia.
Not sure if the sign is in Russian, hard to see, looks like misspelled transliteral translation of “SFOR checkpoint”, but it is written in Cyrillic alphabet.

      36. The root of the problem is that we don’t really have to work for anything anymore, it’s just handed to us. Want an education? Just go get yourself a student loan from the Government, no credit check necessary. Want friends? Just add them on Facebook. Want money for food? Just go sign up for food stamps. Don’t want to work? Don’t go, someone else will do your work for you while you kick back at home on the dole whilst sippin’ on your can of Milwaukees Beast watching reruns of Jersey Shore. Can’t afford that 52 inch plasma and have bad credit ’cause you can’t seem to pay your bills on time? Fuck it! Go down to Rent-A-Wreck and buy one at extremely inflated prices.
When you don’t need to work for something and it’s just handed to you, the appreciation is lost. No wonder all of our jobs are shipped overseas and households are in debt up over our eyeballs. I’ve worked hard all my life and rarely used credit and when I did, I used it sparingly and responsibly. I always try to repair everything before just throwing it away because I appreciate my items I worked so hard to obtain.

        • Beefcake, you reminded me of the caution from the repair man about my new freezer malfunction that cost me about $500 or $600 dollars…

He said not only are the parts inferior in the applicances today made here, but the employees just didn’t care any longer about their performance..says it all, huh??

          • Everything made now adays is meant to be disposable, hence the inferior quality. The manufacturers got smart and realized that if they made goods durable no one would buy anything anymore. Look at all those ’50s and ’60s Chevy and Ford pickups still on the road, they are still alive and kicking because of the legacy of what American ingenuity and workmanship once was. Now everyone is so busy keeping up with the Jones family that they don’t usually keep a car for more than 2 or 3 years before trading up. I still go to the Salvation Army and thrift stores from time to time to buy other people’s junk because it’s new to me 🙂 Sometimes you can go out to their junk pile or as-is sections and pick up some cool stuff that just needs a little TLC or is missing a simple part or two that can be found online or fabricated at home (ya I was always a big fan of that TV show ‘Junkyard Wars’).

      37. I agree with some things and others are stupid or offensive. I agree that things are going to be bad and people need to prepare thought I think that most will not. To say that it will only be bad for a couple months is stupid. It took a week or two after katrina just to bring in some freaking water. When a collapse happens there will be no help coming. I can’t even think of what would make the madness stop, maybe when the nuttiest people run out of bullets? What about the rest that just want to feed their kids and have a gun but no food? Our government will be just as screwed up. Cops will be gone stealing tv’s from Walmart or taking care of their own families. I’m just saying, how the hell would you know that things will start to get better after 2-3 months? Also, I hope that nobody takes the warped view God from an athiest George Carlin any more than than they should be getting their news from comedians on tv today. Not smart! The picture of Palin is stupid and offensive. My God, you couldn’t think of any other picture to put up there??? Anyway, I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but you don’t have to post vulgar, athiest idiots and a picture of Palin who is a true american patriot or pretend you know details about the collapse that are impossible to know. My advice is to humble youself before God and stock up on guns, ammo and food. I frustrates me to think that people that know what’s comming haven’t prepared at all and will be fighting some little old lady at the grocery store for a loaf of bread. We should be in a position to be helping people not fighting them at the store before the shelves clear out.

      38. The Politicians have F/U our country with their greed and lack of leadership

      39. Obama would welcome race riots in the U.S. as a cover for his inept leadership. Obama’s strategy for being a piss poor leader will be to “Blame Whitey”.

      40. I have issues with this article…

6 Reasons why the Riots Here Will Resemble Riots There
        1) The American people aren’t the only ones in denial and continuing to believe the illusion. Anyone, anywhere, living with a fiat currency is in the same boat. ALL fiat currencies are about to collapse. Looks like the Euro will be first major currency to fall, with the dollar not to far behind it.
        2) Arrogance? Americans, as a people, have tended to be optimists over time. Read Alex de Tocqueville. Free people are like that. Traditionally, as a nation, we’ve been isolationists. 20th century European wars changed that. Especially the last big one. Out of necessity, we stepped up to lead the free world. Those days are ending now and the free world is going to be jarred awake when Pax Americana ends. I wouldn’t want to be living in Taiwan or South Korea right now.
        3) Denial. You’re confusing denial with hope. Many American patriots still have faith, hope, and love. God bless them. Can’t spread freedom with war? Tell that to the Redcoats and the Nazis.
        4) Narcissism? We’re nowhere close to being alone on this one. I’ve circled the globe a few times. Narcissism exists wherever the devil treads.
        5) Drugs? Read #4 above. Ever been to Geneva or Amsterdam?
        6) Violence? You really think we’ve cornered the market on that one? No way. No how. I’ve been to Bosnia. I’ve flown into Rwanda. Man’s inhumanity to man is, unfortunately, a very global problem.
So how will our riots be different? Well, the only true difference between ‘us’ and ‘them’ is our 2nd Amendment. If the ‘yobs’ here try to destroy my property, they’re going to take a round of .308 to the head.
Have a good day and God bless.
        Mal

        • Agreed!

      41. Greetings,
I just wanted to post a comment regarding the issue of psychotropic medications. I am a psychiatrist…also a conservative, born-again Christian and a prepper. The fear about SSRI’s (Zoloft, Lexapro, etc) in the prepping community is unfounded. Antidepressants do not make crazy, dangerous people docile. They do make depressed people less depressed and anxious people less anxious. Abruptly stopping these medications (in SHTF) will not lead to mass hysteria and murder. Some people will have flu-like symptoms for a few days if they stop abruptly, but I’m not worried about people becoming dangerous from stopping these meds.

Even the vast majority of people on antipsychotics would not pose a threat to others. Once off these meds, some would quickly relapse into psychosis, but this group represents the most severely mentally ill. Some of the remainder would become psychotic over the course of weeks to months, and some would not become psychotic at all, because they were never psychotic to begin with. Though “psychotic” may be a scary word, in reality, the people on these medications are not wild-eyed, would-be felons and would most likely become more frightened, confused, and unable to care for themselves. While some may become violent, it would be the small minority. They would not likely survive long in a post-SHTF world and due to their mental illness, lack of organization, and lack of resources (including weapons), would pose little threat.

The people that we should be concerned about in a collapse are the welfare-fed underclass in our society. This is a desperate and angry (and armed) portion of the population. Within many of these groups you already have some semblance of organization and hierarchy with gangs and once the lid of civil order is removed, these gangs will explode.

        • Dr. P…thanks for clarifying that! What you wrote makes a lot of sense…

        • Dr Prepper- No dissagreement with your comments concerning meds and lack of them in a post-shtf world. But, since you mentioned them, I have to ask, do you prescribe SSRI’s to your patients?

      42. I’ve read a lot of the popular books around collapse (Patriots, Lights Out, One Second After, etc) but perhaps the most insightful one was written by someone who actually lived through the economic collapse in Argentina in 2001. (“The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse”) While not overly popular, I thought it gave the best perspective on what we could expect and not just a preppers fictional story. The author of this book uses a no-BS approach and right from the start says “you’re going to have to man-up to make it through this.” Now the major difference I see here is that the USD was still the global standard currency and they (in the book) always based their collapsed peso on it. When the standard dissolves, it’s a new ballgame.

Point being, in his book (of real life situations) he made many counter arguments about things that, in the prepper community, are typically considered “standard practices”. For example, do you really think your group of 5 guys rotating guard duty each night is going to last when 1 or 2 of them is offered a good job in another city? Hmm, guard duty at a bug out location or the chance to feed my family and get back on my feet? Little things you might not think of.

Bottom line is, I would suggest this book to any prepper if only just to get the fist hand perspective of someone who actually lived through it.

      43. I must say! This is a rather funny posting, you display a great deal of arrogance and narcissism! We are going through a time like anyother collapsing culture, Egyptgian, Athenian, Roman, etc, etc… Violence is they way of nature and we are no less or more violent then other nations, we are just late to the metro-sexual party that embraced Europe after WW II. You are correct that we are headed for a great deal of violence but it is not something special to the US, Again, we will be the last to the party and with our numbers and size will most likely have a bigger violent reaction in urban areas. We did have something special and better then the rest of the world but then we got involved in geo-politics and that eroded what we started with, thanks to Teddy Roosevelt and Wodrow Wilson for the start of that!

        Cheers, and stay prepared!!

      44. That alaskan redneck named S Palin should go home and stay there !

        • Why? She has as much right to state her opinion…as do you! Been listening to the liberal media much???

        • I detect jealousy and an inferiority complex….

      45. This is indeed an interesting article. I have this bad feeling that this world economic/financial crisis will get pushed back again and again, while the rest of us continue to suffer. Meanwhile the sheeple just keep thinking and expecting hand outs from the government and that the U.S. is in a recovery. The ones that are awake have to continue to prep in discreet. It frustrates me that we can’t even mention the truth and what is really going on and how bad things are to the sheeple. We will get ridiculed and labelled for being that crazy, conspiracy theorist who is always negative about everything. I have given up on trying to awaken people, that even includes my family members. My parents are half awake and my wife is about a quarter awake. I only have one good friend that is on the same page as all of us here, how sad is that.

        • “I have given up on trying to awaken people, that even includes my family members. My parents are half awake and my wife is about a quarter awake. I only have one good friend that is on the same page as all of us here, how sad is that.”

I hear you! It’s frustrating at times.

          • The people that are the most awake say “I’ll just come live with you when it crashes”! As if I’m preparing to take in everyone I know. Then you are a dick if you say “No you aren’t”? It will be hard to turn people away.

      46. Personally I think one of the biggest reasons of all was not listed – probably because it’s not “PC”. Our entitlement crowd has got to be one of the world’s largest, the world’s rudest, the world’s most selfish AND the world’s most lacking in morals.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying all of them. I’m simply saying most of them. They take our money, live off of it and then sit around all day with nothing but time on their hands to figure out how they can get even more of our money – so, they go out and steal it from you or from a business.

All you have to do is watch a few episodes of Bait Car or any other cop/sting type show or simply read your daily newspaper or watch your local news. You will see exactly who will be rioting & what you will be up against. These folks just have absolutely no conscience and they have less reputation to lose than those of us who hold down a respectable job or own our own business.

        It will be hideous.

        • They have nothing but contempt for the people who earn what is handed to them.

      47. The one thing no one ever covers is the fact that we give money to every country that has a Natural disaster

When The dollar collapses so will our humanitarian aide.

        • TOM, that is a very good point. I hope the other nations are ready.

      48. They are all on vacation Wolfman.

        • A lot of truth to that as most Europeans get 30 days of paid vacation every year and sometimes vacation at their government owned resorts in other countries of Europe. Norway in particular I believe.

      49. Quote from our Destroyer in Chief at his annual Istar dinner at the WH. :
“This evening reminds us of both the timeless teachings of a great religion and the enduring strengths of a great nation. Like so many faiths, Islam has always been part of our American family, and Muslim Americans have long contributed to the strength and character of our country, in all walks of life. This has been especially true over the past 10 years.

Riots are coming.. BHO needs them and will encourage them; most likely through the use of race and those accustomed to their “entitlements”. All his community organizations and union buddies will fan the flames and pour gasoline on them until they errupt. He needs this. He must have this because he knows he can not win the next election and if he can not retain power; he will unleash destruction. I never thought I would honestly think that about a president of the US.. but that is where I am. This man is not one of “us”. He is an enemy of the Republic.

        • Some believe he is the third Antichrist who has followed Napoleon (the 1st) and Hitler (the 2nd). Quote from Nostradamus “Out of the country of Greater Arabia Shall be born a strong master of Mohammed, He will enter Europe wearing a blue turban. He will be the terror of mankind. Never more horror.” Greater Arabia (Kenya is close enuff to it isn’t it?) master of Mohammed (Barack Hussein?) blue turban (tidy bowl blue UN helmets?) Europe is in a currency crisis and being consumed by riots right now isn’t it?

Yeah I know I’m looking too deep into it so I’ll go put my tinfoil hat back on.

        • Thats why all those “disturbances” at various state fairs were occureing lately. These are professional assults. My guess is that since these actions are directed by cellphone and other PDA type devices, and the 12 year old thugs even HAVE them tells me that they are supplied these things by ppl in a command/control capacity. (but only my own theory, if you have something better…share your thoughs)In fact thses terror attacts have been happening in Philly, and a lot of other large cities. No media coverage to speak off except on internet news sources.

      50. My take is that there is going to be no mass awakening in America. For the past 14+ months we have been producing the only truth show in all of New Zealand. NZ is going through the same thing that the states are, however, because of a small population and a safe food supply, I think we will be okay here. My prayers go out to America. I could not live in fear any more and exited California in 2007. While I was able to save my wife and my two younger daughters, I have never met my own grandchildren and I worry about their safety.

Please you all. Love your family while you can. Get out if you can and your inspired to do so as it’s not for the faint of heart.

      51. Mac

Another great article and thanks for spreading the word brother, however with a sad face I have to say that this (Your comment is awaiting moderation.) has pushed me over the edge. Instead of this system getting better it has gotten even worse, it now takes around 2 hrs for my post to show up. I will countine to read your site but its hard to join in the comments with this kind of lag time.

Sir I do thank you for such a eye opening that I recieved in the 8 months I have been coming here.

        Sincerely,
        DPS

        • yea, here to, DPS….I’ve tried to post 2 comments today…they didn’t post…let’s see if this one does…Hope Mac get’s it fixed soon 🙂

      52. Herres my take on all of this. the S&P has downgrade the USA and now the politicians can blame them when thery cut entitlements. Both parties have wanted to do this for a long time and now they have a scapegoat. Austerity is coming to the USA now. Taxes will be increased on everyone not just the rich. This will include those on some form of government hand out. Once all this starts the politicians are going to go after your savings and 401K’s.

Once all of this hits the American people riots will ensue just like Europe. Middle class will be wiped out and they will be the ones leading the masses. Then the SHTF. Until then not alot going to happen. As long as people have a roof over their head, food and the propaganda machine telling them this is just temporary they will be happy. We are indeed headed to dangerous times. But now the politicians havea scapegoat they will do as they please because this is not their fault. This ie how it is going ot play out. Commodities are going to soar as interest rates are 0%.

      53. Just a heads up for those not paying attention. During the Rodney King riots, when the Koreans fired at the blacks, the blacks pulled back but did not disperse! When the Koreans stopped shooting the blacks surged forward again. And so it went. After the riots a black guy went in to a Korean store weeks later and shot and killed the merchant. This next crisis will be for keeps. No mercy. They won’t be showing you any mercy. And if you don’t kill them all, they will come back later and get you! If you don’t have the stomach for it, I suggest you slit your wrists right now.

        • While I agree that you must do what you must to defend yourself or your property (as I will), I’m concerned that I’ll end up shooting an assailant in self defense and what’s left of the police force will come to file paperwork/or remove the body and there goes my AR 15 in the back of their car pending “investigation”. And with it goes my main battle riffle and means of defense.

Where do you draw the line?

          • Better to be tried by 12 than to be carried by 6. Where you draw your line is you buy a second AR or AK and hide it between the walls or floorboards of your attic. When first is stolen by “authorities” for “investigation”, you pull out # 2 for the next attack.

            • EXCELLENT response! 1 gun is NOT enough! Hopefully you have already purchased them. Now TPTB will be watching very closely!

      54. Mac:

I feel a day is coming in the near future, were we all will look back and realize just how meaningless and petty most of our squab-bling with each other really is. I have to admit I myself have been guilty of going over board with my own bitching and going on …but, I know I’m just pissing up a rope standing in the wind.

There are a lot of good people Mac, that you have brought together here on (SHTFplan.com). Don’t know about everyone else but, I did not seek this site out to bite anyone’s head off, cause they don’t agree with my views. I’m here to find other like minded preppers in witch to share Knowledge, views & maybe even learn something of value and I have.

I will share this great magazine that I have been getting for years, some of you may already get it yourself. (The Backwoodsman) go to http://www.backwoodsmanmag.com This is a really great mag! It’s a how to book on Muzzeloading, Woodslore, Survival, Homesteading, History, Indian lore and much, much, more!

        Mac

my most gratitude for all the hard work that you have put into building and maintaining site!

        Bloodyfellow

        Semper Fi

        • good video KY Mom.. that IS what, and where any cuts need to start from.. next after that, would be the department of war in my opinion.
          Thanks for sharing that !

      55. Bloody well stated. I basically crunch numbers and follow the markets in my spare time. I am really a history biff and sad that we are indeed repeating the same mistakes. I found this site acutally for the same reason. I dislike squabbling it solves nothing. I was around for some of those watts riots and it was ugly.

I am also and old military man and have seen carnage on a large scale and it is not pleasant. I will defend my property if need be. Alot of people call for doom and gloom all the time and do not realize it is not here yet. Will it be here in the next year or two most likely not. But what do I know. I am an ole country boy and have been prepared for a long time and most country boys preapre and do not even know they do. Why because we live in rural areas and need supplies and we hunt. Most peoapl around these parts know each other. Something you will not see in the cities.

      56. SilverShield………………go back to your buddy Al Gore’s iceberg.

      57. Patriot One, Like I said, I am sorry if I offended you but it appears you are missing my point if you do not see MONEY is the devil in the dress of arrogance. you only see tea party when it was never even said in this article… democrat, republican, tea party.. they are all the same in reality with arguing that leads nowhere but to divide and conquer.

money controls everything and IS what corrupts, it is the ’cause’ of most things you stated above. NOTHING gets corrupted without it is all I am saying, and that includes the church’s.

we both fought to have more and more of our liberties took away??, it was not to gain anything for freedom… You did not fight to give me jack… we both fought for banking and corporate gains nothing more…
you deny this ??… tell me what we the people gained??.. I gained nothing, I only LOST Friends and Family in pools of blood for wrong reasons period and now my liberties are always on the chopping block.

I feel ashamed my military time was used for Banking and corporate interests, I am not proud of it and never will be…

know this, I will fight for YOU and I, but never again for banking and corporate interests period..
I wish you the best Patriot One, I truly do..

        • Look BlackSheep I have no beef with you. Why you keep referring to personal attacks is beyond me.

In my humble opinion you have it wrong. Money is nothing, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Money can do nothing on its own, its like a weapon you have to put it in someones hand to do good or evil.

With that said, please don’t address me any more here. When someone is ashamed of their Military service and thinks an object (money) is evil; I must conclude you are not of a balanced mind.

          • I only refer to personal attacks because that is what most people think when another does not agree with them and questions them, I simply wanted you to know that I am not attacking you as I respect you.

I was only trying to debate some thinking and engage your mind.. None has power without money in the modern ages, with money they then get power or vice versa, they go hand in hand..

Money is the devils dress that creates arrogance in thinking we are #1 as stated in the article above.. not confidence, and the article does not make reference to the tea party at all… that is from your own mind of the tea party being shown.

Thank you for attacking my mind, I like that from time to time to remind me of what reality is and the world I live in…

You must be correct in thinking I am unbalanced in my mind because, I am NOT proud of killing and I do NOT think I am better than anyone else like you humbly stated above about yourself… I Believe we are ALL equal.

For the record, the only reason I killed was I was SCARED AS HELL they would kill me and they would have no doubt.. never will that make me proud, being scared or killing..

now all I have is nightmares haunting me from time to time.. Thank you very much mr GOV and you scum Bankers… I will leave now and leave you and those that are proud of killing for bankers and corporations to yourselves.

            • Valid points BlackSheep. I killed too! It was for my own survival, not some holier than thou, gung ho attitude!
I fought in the 1968 Tet offensive. You fought or you died, we were out numbered 10 to 1.

      58. Though I might disagree with some of the terminology, the general tone of the article is fairly logical. It has been my experience that folks in other countries have the same general attitude as we do. There are differences, but minor overall. The problem is public-funded normalcy bias with a lack of personal responsibility.

I tend to think most of the violence will be in the inner cities for the same reasons many of you pointed out.

        Re: Palin
        Please don’t send her back.

The best weapon for defense is that grey matter between your ears. Well that and a shotgun. Second weapon would be a high-powered pellet gun. I have a pump-up BB gun that kills rabbits just fine. Just too bad the rabbits haven’t got any fat to go with the protein. Friend of mine has a Moisin-Nagant and the capabilities pretty much match 30-06. Top it off with an SKS or Mini14/30. A pistol is a specialized weapon that requires lots of practice to master, but handy for carry. I prefer a kukri for carry. The old 20 foot rule.

        • Overtheedge

My little gamo pellet gun is the break over model,Not sure about killing rabbits , but I will get my dove limit in my own back yard this yr.. And I has done wonders for those damn birds that keep craping on my truck.

          DPS

      59. OK, I get it! You hate America. But do you really think you can make a case that it is America is “spreading debt and death”?? Most of the aid to the rest of the world (food, health care, teaching, protection, rebuilding after a disaster, etc.) comes from America. Maybe you were simply brought up in a dysfunctional family and the only pleasure you get is insulting and degrading others. But even given your mental health issues do you really think you can prove your claim???

        • Hahahaaahahaaaahawwwwwww! That was funny!!! 🙂

      60. i disagree about the drugs section, refering to maryjane and HARMLESS drugs. all other chemically made drugs make sense though.

      61. I’m absolutely positive we only need one reason to riot: we’re oblivious to our world and prefer to bury our heads in the sand than do anything productive about the problem. And since we’ve been avoiding the problem for decades we’re in more trouble than anyone likes to admit.

        • very good millenniumfly, I would have to agree.

      62. I just had rocket launchers put on my electric wheelchair. I’ll show you young whippersnappers how to riot!

      63. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Get out of the cities if at all possible. Smaller communities are closer knit and have a better chance of coming together for the greater good.

      64. The question that nobody is asking about the debt crises that nations are facing right now is, of course… “Who do the nations of the world owe their money to?”‎$3trillion of the US debt is owed to China… what about the other $13 trillion?….:It’s all a game.!!

      65. There is no way back to the Garden of Eden, back to nature, and no chance of becoming the gods we appear to think we are now. We neither would want to overcome nature nor would we want to go back to nature. There is at least one more option: to find balance with nature. This could be a sensible, alternate path to the future and a goal to be reached with all deliberate speed for the sake of the children. After all, we are borrowing this world from our children. Surely we will not continue mortgaging the children’s future and ruining the planet all of us inhabit here now to the point Earth cannot be fruitfully inhabited by them and coming generations. Certainly not on our watch!

Responsible people will have to stop colluding in elective mutism and ignoring the best available scientific evidence of human population dynamics and human overpopulation of the Earth. The time remaining for us elders to secure a good enough future for the children is fairly short, I suppose. We cannot effectively address any global challenge if we do not allow ourselves to understand from whence it orginates. If people cannot see that an actual threat exists for which the human species bears great responsibility, that itself is a problem to be understood and confronted forcefully. Fortunately many of us in this community can see that the family of humanity has a human-driven global predicament before us that has not been adequately acknowledged, let alone begun to meaningfully address and actively overcome by the human family.

Some people say that we have too many challenges to confront now; that we have to deny how certain global ecological challenges are themselves posed to humankind by the skyrocketing growth of absolute global human population numbers. Unfortunately the human community appears not to have space-time available to much longer avoid facing the question of why looming threats to future human wellbeing and environmental health are occurring with such vengeance in our time. Please consider that we cannot wait “until tomorrow” to respond ably to such ominous threats as appear to be emanating from the colossal scale and unbridled global growth of human overconsumption, overproduction and overpopulation activities. Please take time to reflect upon the untapped potential of the human species. Within the human family there is the capability to deal with the formidable ecological challenges that are already visible on the horizon. Despite the pathetic ways we are behaving, we can do better than we are doing now much better than ostriches when it comes to choosing a posture suitable for seeing the world in which we live. Look up, look ahead!

Human beings may be acting in our time as if we are more stupid than ostriches when we place our heads firmly in the sand while proclaiming we see what is happening. But the human species embodies so many more gifts from God than the ostriches, even though many too many of us with our heads in the sand follow leaders who take pride and engage in unsustainable overconsumption, overproduction and overpopulation activities that make our stupidity plain to see. How much longer will knowledgeable members of the human community with splendid gifts such as only human beings possess silently stand by and, by so doing, condone the incredible greed, the pathological arrogance, the extreme foolhardiness of a tiny minority of the family of humanity, that is not only ruling the world absolutely in our time but threatening to destroy life as we know it and the Earth as a fit place for the children to inhabit? A remarkably small group of self-proclaimed masters of the universe hold the ‘destiny’ of all in their hands. This elite international group appears to be operating behind the scenes these days and “growing” the global political economy to such a colossal scale that it could soon become patently unsustainable on a planet with the relatively small size, make-up and environs of Earth. Although we are presented with a virtual blizzard of propaganda to the contrary, our planetary home is not, definitely not “too big to fail.”

Earth is bounded and finite; its ecology is frangible. It cannot be sensibly compared to a maternal presence, in the sense of it being like a mother’s teat at which humankind can forever suckle. Neither a mother’s teat nor the Earth is actually inexhaustible, despite the children’s fantasy and adults’ belief that either one is an eternal source of sustenance. The human family ignores human biological limits and Earth’s physical limitations to support life as we know it at our peril.

      66. I’m wondering if the riots will really be all that bad.

Where will the riots be? They are likely to be in the worst of the gun-controlled rust-belt big cities. (Let’s not forget L.A.)

Past that, who here thinks that rioting will actually occur in their smaller towns? Middle sized cities?

Just looking at this from another point of view…

        • I’m not that concerned about riots. I’m much more concerned about the violence that would follow when food is no longer transported to stores and we no longer have electricity or running water. That will make the safest small town in America ten times worse than inner city Detroit.

        • I look for all the rioting if any to be in the largest cities with the most people on social programs as when the money drys up the programs dry up. Even the smaller cities with populations of 30,000 will have plenty of troubles, I know a the nearest city to me has a pop of about 30 thou and many of them rely of government assestance of some kind, HEAP,Food stamps, unemployment at least they’ll keep the cops occupied so they don’t bother us.After what happened in New Oleans, I fear our own cops more than anyone, they can shoot us,rob us or what ever with no reprisals or witnesses, I keep wondering how bad or how far out of hand do things have to get before we can ignore people coming up to the door and saying they’re a cop and we let the foxes in the hen house.I don’t think they’re all bad, but I don’t want to open my door to find out.Like Reagan said, the worst thing you can hear is, I’m from the government and am here to help.

          • we are 9 m strong and whaiting

      67. We’re going to have a hyperinflationary collapse. When food costs ten times as much as it does today millions will starve or die violently. I expect 95% or more of Americans to die. I don’t see any way around it.

The violence will be much worse among black people. We’re already seeing a lot of unprovoked black on white violence in this country. Other than that I see no reason to think riots will be worse here.

      68. This collapse WILL lead to a one-world government. It’s foolish to deny that.

        • As it is meant to.

      69. Why haven’t my previous comments been approved? Comments made 12 hours after mine have been approved.

      70. jews are to blame for all of this completely
like it or not deny it or not
        JEWS ARE TO BLAME

        • A few years back I would have called you a nutcase.

          • Now its called stating the obvious 🙂

        • It’s true. The jews ARE to blame. From the HolyHoax to 9/11 and the financial collapse, the jews are responsible. Nuke Israel!

      71. This was written by non patriot of America. Bunch of crap. We AMERICANS ARE THE BEST!!!! Everyone else can kiss our a..If we weren’t people wouldn’t be trying to come here legally or illegally.

        • They’re coming here because of our easy to get welfare programs, not because we’re the best. Cut off the free money and they go home.

      72. The riots will be worse in bigger cities, worse on the coasts where people are more liberal and expect government to take care of them. They won’t be as bad in rural areas or the south or midwest.

I expect riots to worse in European countries where people have been sold on the idea of cradle to grave government care.

      73. You know another reason it is going to be bad? Because the pay back is about Karma.

Every bad thing the establishment of America has done is going to come back at it. Same as in UK.

USA has created a monster on the international stage and that monster will play out it’s final act at a theatre near you!

I read in the Guardian UK that Libya has recognised the rioters in England as the legitimate government.

        Peace

      74. I feel like you wrote this really well, but be careful, by speaking of revolution and saying that it will be the worst you may cause one. It is like you said, so many Americans are ignorant of the world, so many people don’t even cheerish life, even that if the tiniest organism. It is in most of humanities nature to be violent, we must becareful what we say because words spoken in a calm disposition and from the heart are the ones that lead to the greatest eras.

I wish we had better elected officials. Most of them are all so corrupt. This problem has been seen again through out the ages…Not all the economic classes are represented. All of the elected officials are from the upper class..How barbaric..

What kind of countries congress takes a vacation after all agreeing to a compromise about what to do with the debt crisis…When even was their last paycut?…Welcome to America…

I don’t have the answers for everything, but I truly wish that it was easier for one person to make a difference. Especially when in their hearts, those people want what is right, not just for themselves, but for everyone.

      75. All the result of Liberal policies imo.

      76. Riots? Put out a message on TV, internet… then stop the trucks from delivering the food, fuel… shut off the power… no more water… strict curfews with barely enough time to wait in ration lines with rations doled per person, not per family…

Urban areas will be the safest… the bands that escape the city into the rural areas will be the hardest to control.

“We know he’s all locked up in there, and he’s got GUNS. Probably a lot of good stuff, too” “Okay, mix up the ammonia and bleach (all they could find at the looted store) and put a few down his chimney and vents… we can wait, it’s been working great for the last few weeks… nothing like easy pickins”

        • Mark what you forget is food is trucked into large metropolitan areas thru rural areas. In fact rural areas actually support big cities with food. Although it may be easier to control once food is gone police and riot control will no longer apply. Cities actually pose a greater danger to the innocents as organized looters can overwhelm local police. Local organized looters can strike before other forces can be brought in to stop them. Think about a large city not being able to get food as they are no longer running to those locations.

Control is not easy to establish. Farmers trying to provide for their families will stop shipping food as they will need it to barter for other goods. You can only control so much ground period. I imagine the powers that be will be protectiing the farmers over the cities.

      77. “May you live in interesting times”

      78. I have been telling folks for 10 years now. WHEN is happens, The world will know why Americans are the way they are.
The second civil was will make the first one look like a scouting event.

        It will not be civil

      79. About a year or so ago, Baxter County Arkansas lost their electricity for a week, due to an ice storm. No heat, no gasoline, no cook stove, no tv etc. for a week. There was no big problem with crime because of the demographics. They’re almost all white folks. Green Acres, that’s the place to be!

      80. Go to borderlandbeat.com everyday to see what your country will become if you don’t secure the border.

      81. I agree with what youre saying Silver Shield. The warning of USA collapse is at the door knocking or shall i say about to knock it down. Attacks from other groups will happen and many deaths and distruction will take place. American people will wake up and realize they are not untouchable and indistructable. People of the USA heed this warning , the signs are everywhere. Your economy is falling faster than a meteorite. Invasion of the enemy is there now. Look around and get your provisions together , food, water, acessories needed such as batteries, medications . Time is closing in on you folks to the south of Canada. I’m your Canadian cousin who will be praying for your safety and well being.

      82. Hopefully the Author of this article will be one of the first casualties of the upcoming violence!

      83. No joke! I was reading this article and right in the middle of it we had an earthquake here in Northern, Virginia. How sick is that?

      84. You’re all a bunch of fucking fools. Die soon, leaches.

      85. You have it right on the nail, no one has said it any better, you should win a noble prize for what you know. Those in the country will be seeing smoke bellowing in the skys from the cities that are on fire, from riots, your children will be screaming and crying asking you why!! Than you will wish you had pulled your head out of your butt and listened!!! The military will cut you off at the exits leaving town, ever wondered why all roads leaving cities are built the same way, so the military can station a tank and just a few troops there and you can not get out. And they will shoot you, they are like most americans arrogant they do not care. You are cannon fodder to most troops. And after so long people will resort to eating human flesh, it’s been done in the past, do something sane and prepare!!!!
