Editor’s Comment: As usual, these government training scenarios play a double game, by spreading fear throughout the population and preparing the people and federal agencies alike for greater government control in the face of crisis.

Nevertheless, the factors are all too real, and this is yet another piece of the puzzle that makes it so clear that chaos has been sown, and that there will be incredible challenges in the near future that will threaten to unravel society as we know it, pitting unrest against strong-armed control. Personally, I’d be certain that mine are prepared with a food supply to outlast a disaster of any foreseeable durable – years if possible.

FEMA Contractor: Unrest After 395% Food Price Spike Coming Soon

    by Claire Bernish

Preparations by various cogs of the national security complex, including FEMA, indicate a coming worldwide food shortage — and a resulting crisis marked by extreme civil unrest around the globe.

As Motherboard noted of two reports published previously by CNA Corporation, but which largely escaped attention, the world’s food supply could be insufficient to maintain even current populations much further into the future. And the crisis — which several factors indicate may already be underway — may begin to worsen considerably as early as 2020.

Employing a desktop game simulation of the conditions of a global food shortage, titled “Food Chain Reaction,” CNA’s Institute for Public Research brought together “65 officials from the US, Europe, Africa, India, Brazil, and key multilateral and intergovernmental institutions,” Motherboard explained. And the Institute, which oversaw the simulation, “primarily provides scientific research services for the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA].”

According to the website for Food Chain Reaction: A Global Food Security Game — no commentary on Orwellian overtones needed — the “simulation and exercise intended to improve understanding of how governments, institutions, and private sector interests might interact to address a crisis in the global food system,” and took place in early November 2015.

“The scenario,” the description continues, “is set five years from today in a world where population growth, rapid urbanization, extreme weather and political crises combine to threaten global food security. The game’s players — high-level decision makers representing nations, international institutions, and the private sector — will collaborate, negotiate, make decisions, and confront tradeoffs while dealing with a chain reaction of consequences resulting from their actions.”

Participants received the briefing for the game through a mock TV newscast, which “challenged players to imagine a global food system under stress due to extreme weather and other environmental factors, urbanization and other demographic pressures, rising global food prices, and falling food stock levels.”

After receiving information specific to each participant’s national and regional geography and climate, players were also permitted to employ solutions to the game’s burgeoning food crisis scenario on “national, bilateral, and/or broadly cooperative” levels.

Divided into four rounds, the simulation found spikes in food prices up to a whopping 395 percent, driven by extended crop failures in key regions, resultant from the confused reactions by international officials, drastic changes in the environment, and skyrocketing oil prices — many similar factors, the report notes, that drove a global food crisis spanning 2007 to 2008.

Though, at the height of the simulation’s worst repercussions, the food crisis affected virtually every societal and governmental aspect — such as mass civil unrest and widespread crop failures in the planet’s ‘breadbasket’ regions — the Institute ultimately painted a rosy picture of economic and agricultural recovery.

But for as detailed and reactive as the scope of the game sought to be, several glaring omissions likely skewed both results and proposed solutions — and despite backing from the U.S. government, the simulation’s corporate participants could have tacitly or overtly influenced the outcome.

Commissioned in part by Cargill, an industrial agribusiness behemoth, and Mars, the giant whose candy business has vested interests in promoting both genetically-modified food and industrial agriculture, the Food Chain Reaction simulation excluded among possible solutions the abolishment of industrial, factory farming. Considering large-scale agribusiness’ sizable impact on the environment, as well as the paradoxical system whereby industrial agriculture largely supports livestock from factory farms, that exclusion certainly calls into question any results.

Additionally, with FEMA an aspect of the futuristic simulation, it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility to see a call for increased funding in the name of ‘being prepared’ for a coming crisis of epic proportions.

Perhaps, though, an imperative exists in examining both the aspects of massive food shortage studied as well as potential solutions omitted. China recently began the push away from a meat-centric diet, in part because pollution from factory farms has wrought havoc in the air and water. All moralistic pontificating aside, a return to small-scale, organic farming and switching to vegetarian diets, or at least a reduction in consumption of meat, could avert or abate the coming crisis.

      1. I was first, let’s see how long it takes to post.

        • “The white nationalist group that got into a bloody confrontation with counter-protesters in Sacramento over the weekend has announced plans to attend the Republican National Convention next month to “defend” Donald Trump supporters.”
          http://sputniknews.com/us/20160629/1042188794/neo-nazi-group-rnc.html

Those guys are indeed masochists (and stupid too): they got badly beaten in Sacramento, CA and now are heading to the Republican convention!!!… Trump’s advisers and financiers are surely rubbing their hands of excitement knowing that tons of money are to be made due to broadcasting rights, advertising, marketing and publishing…radical groups like the Traditionalist Worker Party (TWP) can surely deliver such humongous profits during the convention.

Forgot to mention that the people behind the Trump campaign (advisers & financiers) have deep connections with the Zionist regime and most of them are dual citizens of the US and Israel?…the real power behind the curtain!

It shouldn’t be a surprise to learn that the Traditionalist Worker Party (TWP) is in reality a government sponsored PSYOP focused on collecting data of dissenters and the main leaders of that pseudo organization are on the government’s payroll:

          • WHERE’S KULA AND RELLIK! I just read where Hawaii passed a law where Gun Owners will be registered in a FBI data base. Also since Conservative Justice Scalia died the Liberal Supreme Court is on a roll. They upheld a unconstitional law where a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction prohibits you from owning a gun. They may push to the point where many become something more than keyboard commandos. Trekker Out.

          • When it comes to Hunger, who do you think FEMA is going to Feed First? Government Officials or the Public?

All this stockpiling of Food, with No public Access to it? FEMA is one of the Biggest Government Scams out there Ripe with Plunder. Oh they may airdrop some MRE’s on the public for their Photo Opp. FEMA employees steal Ammo and anything else they can from FEMA.

          • Reggae, we should all join the White Nationalist Party. And the score was 2 White stabbed, and 3 niggs.

          • Interesting television ‘programming’ tonight, such as 12 Monkeys, Independence Day, Red Dawn… Who actually benefits if/when shtf? Maybe the fear & freakout is being encouraged & directed. Would appreciate your thoughts on that.

          • I don’t recall reading that they got theirs tails beat…Rather the opposite occurred… The BLM mob, which greatly out numbered them attacked the whites with knives. Now, at this point I don’t think that white people of ANY persuasion should be taking to the streets. This just plays into Soros and company… I do agree with others that the Cleveland police will not protect Trumps supporters when the savages attack them…Perilous times ARE dead ahead.

        • Speaking of food and hunger, I just received this email today. It is a little long but you need to read and not support muslims. The pictures did not copy but can be looked up online. Check your labels before purchase.

          Australian Grocery Chain

Make sure the grocery buyer in your household reads this.

There should be more leading Australians like Dick, he gets to the bottom of important issues and anything that amounts to selling out Australia is very important.

          A WARNING FROM DICK SMITH:
You may be aware that ” Dick Smith ” chain franchise stores are being pressured by the Islamic Council of Australia to gain ‘Halal Certification’ otherwise they will be proscribed and banned from Muslim custom.

          This is their response:

          A MESSAGE FROM DICK SMITH.
“We at Dick Smith ‘s have received a number of letters from people asking if we will be putting the Muslim Halal logo on our food.

To acquire Halal certification, payment is required to the endorsing body (the Islamic Council) and involves a number of site inspections of both our growers and processors in order to ensure that our practices comply with the conditions of Halal certification.

It is important to note that this does not reflect the quality of the food being processed or sold – it only means that the products are approved as being prepared in accordance with the traditions of the Muslim faith.

We are aware of an increasing number of large companies both in Australia and overseas, such as Kraft and Cadbury, who have obtained accreditation to use the Halal logo. We don’t believe they have done this because of any religious commitment but rather for purely commercial reasons.

Perhaps these large organizations can afford to do this.

While we have a choice however, we would prefer to avoid unnecessarily increasing the cost of our products in order to pay for Halal accreditation when this money would be better spent continuing to support important charitable causes where assistance is greatly needed.

We point out that we have never been asked to put a Christian symbol (or any other religious symbol) on our food requiring that we send money to a Christian organization for the right to do so.
Others would add that money paid to ANY Muslim ‘organization’ (and you had better believe it: these people ARE ‘organized’) can easily find its way into the hands of Islamic extremist-fanatics and murderers, irrespective of assurances to the contrary.

What other assurances do we accept from Muslims? Oh, that’s right, ‘Islam is a religion of PEACE’! How less Australian can companies get, than to place money into the hands of those who seek to exploit us?”

This is an example of how the leaders of Muslims in Aus./NZ. are bullying large commercial organizations (especially in the food industry) into paying what is no more than blatant extortion money. The amazing part is that these weak-kneed organizations (Cadbury/ Schweppes/ Nestles/ Kraft etc.) actually pay the large sums demanded by these self-appointed religious bureaucrats.

Of course, the manufacturers promptly pass this levy on to unwitting consumers as cost increases.

Next time you buy a block of Cadbury’s chocolate, look for the Halal Certification seal on the wrapper. So, regardless of your own religious faith, you end up subsidizing Islam.
The Council also controls the Muslim voter bloc which, as yet, does not have sufficient critical mass to make a difference – but give them time.

Several state jurisdictions are under pressure to adopt or permit Sharia Law in Marriage, Family and Property matters and some, under the delusion that they are being progressively liberal, are permitting this. This has already happened in some local authorities in the U.K. Google the U.K. Education Department’s current investigation into the conduct of Muslim-run schools in the Birmingham area of England.

How many more warnings do people need?
Check the produce on the shelf and don’t buy anything Muslim extorted.

THANK YOU FOR READING THIS RIGHT THROUGH TO THE END.

          • Nice post Fishandmud

          • Well said fishandmud, been banging on about the stealth introduction of this disgusting halal crap for ages. The sooner more people realise what’s going on the better. BOYCOTT HALAL.

Got to be a detective to uncover all the hidden taxes. ‘U’ is a tax. It’s not a Star of David but some would prefer a Star. I Would prefer that food not be taxed period.

            • Food that you grow yourself is not and should not ever be taxed. They can tax grocery bought food all they want, along with consumption of any other product or service.

It is INCOME of any form that should not be taxed, in any way.

              • Wyoming has no tax on food. Trekker Out.

                • Mountain:

California has no tax on food, either. These other taxes are hidden.

            • I bet most Every item sold at dicks stores already Has and has Had for a very LONG time now, kosher labeling symbols on said items sold.

Obviously those islamics deamdning a symbol and payment for it are simply Copying what the “kosher Kwaps” aka kosher label rabbis has been doing Worldwide for many decades already eh….yet the abject Silence on That Kosher labels is Deafining no?

NO religion should be allowed to swindle folks like that period. And for them what do not believe its a swindle scam that Pays Huge profits?

In usa alone…A small group of kosherized rabbis overseeing Their labelings Earns an aprox $3 BILLION dollars Per year Every year!

And due to being religious Non profit 501C expempt status as per usual for such orgs…Its all 100% PURE profit YOU Unaware Goyim gentiles pays for!

And one Must consider the Demographics of it all too…That being that only aprox 1.5% of general usa POP are kosher bound, compared to the Goyim general rest of america pop consists of that Other 98.5% and are whom Pays the huge main Bulk of Fees attached to all such labelings…

And also! while it always begins with “proper kosherized food Products”…Islamics are very likely to also Include at some future point, like them Kosherized rabbis Did…

Most EVERY thing/item/product Made and sold at stores nationwide and worldwide..

Why does reynolds Alum Foil wrap Require Kosher labelsings?

Or Tiddy Bowel toilet cleaner chems! and Most every item sold at stores today has that label and YOU Goys Pays for most of it!

Put total Halt to ALL such fee labelings crap period. Be it Islamic or Kosherized or Hindu or whatever religion demands it done.

Adds up to YOU Pay Fees that act as a TAX on essentials such as FOODS! WRONG WRONG WRONG Period!

Memo from the VP of Marketing, OkieBrands, Inc.
            To: ALL Marketing Team Members.
            .
I called the International Halal Certification Council and asked if they could certify our new OkieBrand Pork Skins. (Regular, Spicy Hot and, new Bar-B-Que flavor). Perhaps we had a bad phone connection, or maybe there was a miscommunication through the interpreter. Either way–They hung up on me! What a bunch of rude twats!
I hate to think of the missed sales we’ll suffer in the Islamic market. Still, they can’t say we didn’t try.
As we press on through these tough economic times, we will do everything possible to expand into the ever-growing Islamic markets. However, our efforts to sell even a small percentage of our products have, so far, been futile.
In Syria, Jordan, and most of Lebanon, our sales of OkieFried brand bacon and sausage have been pitifully low. Even our new SmokinHot Jalapeno Camel Jerky has been met with consumer indifference, in spite of a massive advertising campaign and tremendous price discounts.
All I can say is, these people evidently don’t know a great product when they see it. Therefore, we have cancelled the roll-out of OkieDoke Cocktail Weenies throughout the middle east, and will instead begin focusing on a campaign of consumer education. Somehow, we must find a way to tap into these burgeoning markets. We can’t let the competition get to them first!
Keep thinking positive, team! We will find a way to educate and empower these idiotic rag-headed nitwits… I mean, consumers!
            Sincerely,
            SmokinOkie, VP of Mktg.

***No actual Muslims were harmed in the production of this comment***

            • Okie, it was pork skins that saved me from all the kosher religions.

            • Outstanding

            • Smokin, LMAO! Another good one. I do enjoy pork skins myself on occasion.

            • Oakie:
              ?????????

              That-a-boy. A job well done.

            • It is a shame no muslims got hurt.

To the other commenters, their is no tax on unprepared food anywhere in the US that I know of. But the halal certified mark of approval is a fee or tax or donation to muslim extremist, whatever you want to call it, It is a tax that is passed onto the purchaser. The profits go toward making there way of life, the law, and our way of life extinct. Infidels have to pay a tax in order to exist among muslims.

Do not take my word for it. Look it up for yourself. While you are looking it up, check out all of the marks that are used for halal food. Their are quite a few different ones.

              • The Illuminati Triangle with e K in it is the Mark of the Beast. and Needs to be removed from all food labels here in the USA. Let the Jews starve to death. Let them eat pork without them knowing it. If you work in a factory, making Kosher foods, dump bacon grease into the Mix. Watch the rats eat it with joy.

~WWTI… Why are Jews so Short? Makes picking up loose change on the street much, much easier.

            • OkieBrands Inc. should require all personnel to have muttonchop whiskers

            • The entire email might not be a true quote. I just passed on an email. But the halal certified labels, that have to be bought, are the truth. I have looked it up and encourage everybody to look up everything they hear and read. Believe nobody. Take all the info you learn and confirm it for yourselves.

          • Islam makes up >2.1% of Australia’s population, behind Buddhists and Hindus. As a voting/economic bloc they are meaningless. That doesn’t mean they won’t be in the future but Australia is tightening its immigration.

          • This is the jizya: a tax that must be put on non-Muslims in accordance with the Islamic faith. You will notice Muslims are grabbing the commanding heights of the economy. We now have close to zero percent interest rates – charging interest is unIslamic – we have halal food taxes being imposed, we have much of the banking sector reliant on funds from the Gulf states. Muslims own most of the property in London, much of the businesses (Harrods etc.), and now the mayor. The previous London mayor makes much of his Turkish Muslim background and has just set off political chaos in Europe. Is there a plan afoot? Go figure…

I would support hipster butchers who do not use halal methods and bypass the grocery stores. Pork-loving hipsters with tattoos and a love of a good whisky and who get the accounts done by a hot chick in a miniskirt: they will get my money.

            • Muzzies can take their brand of taxes and stuff them.

          • FishandMudd; Are you aware that the US Food Industry is also getting shaked down by the Jews and Cabal? Look on most labels on food today. Do you know what the K with a Triangle on the labeling is for: Well I’ll tell you. Its Basically the Pyramid of the illuminati and the K stands for Kosher. US Food corporations are Shaked down too with the Kosher Hustle.

Long story short. Back in the late 80’s I drove part time Limos. This Black robbed Rabbi I picked up at Chicago Ohare, and drove to Hormel Factory in Southern Wisconsin. The Rabbi had a meeting with the Corporate head. I happened to accompany him, and we went inside.. I waited while they had their meeting. When the door opened, the CEO came out. The Rabbi in the office started rifling into the items on the CEO’s desk like grabbing pens, anything he could grab. The CEO returned about a minute later with about 5 big boxes of Corn chips and all the shit food Hormel makes, and the Rabbi and I carried the boxes out to the Limo and we drove off. He was laughing when we took off. I was young and did not understand it all at that time. but soon after I figured out what the meeting was a shake down.. The Kosher stamp is a BS SCAM to fleece US Corporations and get special treatment for Jews. F*ck them, Dump pork grease on those chips and let them fly out of the factory with the Illuminati Triangle K symbol on them. Let them eat Pork. And we get to laugh.

That freaking Blacked Robbed Rabbi was a thief. In fact this shake down by the Jews is never ending. They got their BS Kosher special BS deal with Thousands of US Food companies in the US to ensure that the food was kosher for the Cabal.

So you see the Muslims are learning by the same standards as the Rip Off Jews have had in place for decades. Their Creepy Jew Claws into everything like a Bag of parasites on a Bag of Chips.

I been around this World and seen a lot of BS. Pay attention.

~WWTI… If it was my food company, I would have told the black robbed jackass to get off my company property. You see the weak sheep submit to this BS Shakedowns. That clown probably does that for his full time job.

            • WWTI : No I do not know what every symbol on our food is. I learn from reading and some from this site. When I have something to add, a life experience, or a teachable moment to share, then I will add my 2 cents worth. I did not know about this halal thing until it came to me in an email. After confirming, I needed to pass it on to others. One of life’s little controls that we have is our purse strings. I will not knowingly support muslim extremism or any part thereof.

          • I’ve read that they torture animals before harvesting. Makes the meat more “tender.” Horrid practices. Videos all over the internet if you want to check it our.

          • Excellent Information. Thank you for taking the time to post this. It appears more and more that the only food to eat is food you grow. Stop buying from these Big Corporations. It is junk food and now we see where their interests lie. Money, Money Money is all they want. They do not care how they get it. USA and Canada selling arms to these people and now big corp is supporting them through your hard earned money. Wake Up Sheeple

        • You’re missing the real issue here. America has been sold out to the globalists, and they’re about to take delivery. FEMA and others are set to enforce the end of American sovereignty, and they are prepared for war to achieve their goals. The 2016 is just a circus show to keep everybody distracted until it’s too late. Turkey just sacrificed, or rather “martyred” 41 of their own people as part of the price they must pay to join the European Union. Brexit? also a diversion. Why do you think Obama doesn’t care at all what he does?

        • You know what I am getting sick and tired of. The US Military Hijacking every Holiday, and sporting event we have. The 4th of July does not have a Goddamn thing to do with the US Military. In fact, if anything they are the cause of our losses of FREEDOM. They Rob our country and treasury of financial resources every day all to fund their Genocide, and Tyranny and terrorism around the Globe and create hate around the world towards America. That translates into Loss of Freedoms and loss of prosperity. They steal from us for building highways, sidewalks, schools, businesses, infrastructure, but they got no problem wasting our money to build this crap in Iraq so they can go blow it up the next day. Real Fn Heroes they are.

I hear these radio commercials now close to the 4th of July, about how we need to Thank the troops, I say Fuck the troops. F-n Brain dead Morons. I just want to go puke on the Radio commercial Moron who says this propaganda crap, who is fn clueless.

The MICM – Military Industrial Complex Mafia is also to blame for the incompetence and Plunder all for a fat greedy profit. They need to be shut down and kicked to the curb. The entire defense budget needs to be shaved in half ASAP. and half of the 1000 Military bases around the globe need to be closed. All Military Bases are, is a Stinky Whore House and Pig Trough, Ripe with Fraud and Plunder. Sucking off Tax Payers Tits to enrich the contractors pockets. And that’s all it is, and why they keep these bases open, to transfer America’s wealth to the few 1%’ers.

We need to get back to spitting on these shills in uniform so they quit. And feces thrown on them. And they call themselves Heroes. Disgusting POS scumbags.

If you see this Military Propaganda Crap spewed out there on the 4th of July, You set the record strait, not this BS Propaganda that is shoved down our throats, glorifying the Uniform of Genocide and Murder Incorporated. The largest Terrorist Gang on the planet is the US Military. That’s the truth, just go ask all the civilians living in the Occupied Countries about the US Military is stationed there and what they do to the civilian populations. Go ask the innocent dead people families who were murdered by Obama’s Killer drones. Killing hundreds of innocent for just a possible suspected enemy. Millions of innocent humans murdered globally by the US Military, and for what? A Heroes welcome home parade?? Sick Muther Fckkers. You hear this propaganda crap, call the radio station and tell them to stop the BS military propaganda. Ignorant f#cks

You see a Military person in uniform, tell them they are a real POS. Just a dumb ignorant Pawn for the bankers.

          ~WWTI…

          • Thank a veteran for your freedom.

            • Thank a Braindead Veteran for our $19 Trillion Dollar National Debt. Veterans are accomplices to Global Genocide.

              ~WWTI…

              • You can thank your president for that debt.

      2. i aint hungry,and i never will be.

      3. They will kill us by War, Disease and Famine.
They don’t even have to round us up for many will go to the camps willfully.

        Prep for War.

        • Anon, the sheeple will be begging FEMA to take them. They won’t get me.

      4. If this is about the report I saw, it was a projection out to 2040 (and not mentioned in this synopsis). That said, war and famine will arrive much sooner than that for many countries; but not the USA, without nuclear war, pole shift or Yellowstone blowing.

Bought a big can powered honey. Anyone ever use that before??? 🙂

        • Just add honey. Nah, use it for sprinkling over food that would benefit, use it in cooking, use it as a sweetener in coffee, use it in BBQ rubs, or mix it one part water, and 3 parts powder.

          • Thanks. 🙂

        • What the ALL the ingredients in your powdered honey?

I remember seeing some at Costco, but there was some ingredient I didn’t like so passed on the purchase.

        • Durango. No I haven’t. That sounds neat how does it taste? I bought powdered peanut butter that don’t taste too bad. And where u get it? Also anybody seen that movie called amerigeddon about the emp bomb? I can’t find it anywhere close to me. Heard theaters weren’t wanting to play it. Idk?

          • Ted.. I had also aked if anyone saw the movie Amerigeddon. Its all about Martial law. A close training film for the awake of how to handle yourself in that sitation. The trailer is on YTube.

            Netflix??

            -WWTI…

      5. Every communist regime in history has used food as a weapon.

        Expect it.

        • Yep, and America will be producing more food than ever while we all starve to death.

Se, the left understands history very well when they want to.

They’re gonna have to start the disarmament first in CA because the San Joaquin Valley probably supplies the majority of the food for the planet.

          They control the water.
They control food production based on the water.
          They control the EBT system.
They control weapons and ammunition through punitive laws.

          They control…..

          • Sounds like a depressing rerun of Scotland after Culloden or of the Irish potato famine.Ships laden with Scottish & Irish grain made fortunes in exports for the Elite in both cases while populations starved.

History doesn’t repeat but it rhymes – so in the States look at how the First Nations managed to stay alive when they were shafted by the elites. I bet you’ll find a humble native local food crop you’ve previously overlooked to plant in your garden. If you haven’t already adjust some of your outside space so it becomes a wild permaculture area that looks to the stupid like a pile of weeds. I’ve not forgotten that in Venezuela people’s private garden produce has been commandeered by the idiots in charge – don’t make too much of your food supply easy for the Jackboots to identify. Allocate the mauraders an area or crop you choose to lose over your own life if needed.

As for grocery shopping – have you built a good relationship with local independent producers and shopkeepers? If trouble strikes it’s in the nature of the small family business to look after their regular customers first, especially if you have something they need to barter with. For many of us medicinal herbs and home produced essential oils take up very little storage space but are great old school barter items when Big Pharma meds are out of reach of ordinary folk. In Greece the shortage of medications hit before the food shortages did.

            • Look at Jerusalem artichokes for something no one will notice

            • Lonelonmum
              DITTO
I have barley sprinkled through my weeds in front. Nobody knows what it is but I will harvest it. I got salads late winter same spot from wild mustard. Wild parsnips coming up. 5 acres of food forest. prickly pear ripening. Herbs everywhere. Wild day lilies in a flowerbed and all edible. blueberries are a foundation shrub. And so on.

          • As Tonto said to the Lone Ranger, when they were surrounded by hostile Indians: And the Ranger said: “We are going to die!? Tonto said: “What do you mean “WE”; white eyes?” “WE” aren’t all going to starve. Here in Wyo, They don’t control the river, they don’t control the ranches or farms, I don’t give a XXXX about EBT, and they sure as hell don’t control ammo or guns.

          • Great Post CR! Can you update us on the situation with the drought and how you see that playing out in the near future. Thanks.

          • You are confused about how much food is produced in the San Joaquin Valley. It’s only a very small percentage of American production.

            • “Though it has been called “The food basket of the World”, the San Joaquin Valley has not been nationally recognized for the diversity of its produce. Walnuts, oranges, peaches, garlic, tangerines, tomatoes, kiwis, hay, alfalfa and numerous other crops have been harvested with great success. DeRuosi Nut, a large walnut processing plant in Escalon, has been in the valley since 1947. Certain places are identified quite strongly with a given crop: Stockton produces the majority of the domestic asparagus consumed in the United States, and Fresno is the largest producer of raisins, originally a Middle Eastern commodity.”

“The food basket of the World”.

Water is the key. No water, no basket.

              • A MASSIVE new aquifer has been discovered deeper in that valley. MASSIVE. MASSIVE. MASSIVE. Good water.

Even DEEPER down a massive aquifer has been discovered below the new one. It is SLIGHTLY salinated.

No shortage of water for crops or humans. 🙂

              • Ca Res. what town were you raised in?

              • It is not the “food basket of the world,” just called that by some unidentified Wikipedia editor. All of California produces less than 20% of US food, and San Joaquin is only a part of that. I wouldn’t call that a “majority of the food for the planet,” not by a long shot. Based on the list of crops you quoted, I don’t eat a single thing from San Joaquin valley. Hay and alfalfa aren’t food anyway. And I get all my peaches and tomatoes locally.

                • Don’t forget sweet potatoes, 4 rows in the garden. One of out largest cash crops.

                  • I grow a type of white sweet potato. Its not orange like the Yams. Its a actual sweet potato. And we grow asparagus also. We let some mature and its went to seed. lettuce & kale tomatoes. We are harvesting squash ,sweet corn , cucumbers, tomatoes at present. I drove truck and hauled many refrigerated loads out of the valley. Anything they grow could be produced in many places.

                • Archivist,

The San Joaquin Valley has been dubbed that term since way, WAY before Wikipedia or the internet ever called it that.

Secondly, contaminate or regulate the valley so it can’t produce food and you’ll see just how quickly the rest of the world will take notice. All it would take is a false-flag manufactured perceived disaster to stop production.

Can we say tainted water supply? Can we say Lawrence Livermore Lab accident? Can we say Delta Mendota Canal contaminated?

Perception is truth. Remember: Facts don’t matter.

                • Archivist
My tomato plants are 12 feet high and have 12 inch buds oh never mind, wrong garden.

              • Almonds

          • There are about 450 million acres in the US designated as ‘cropland.’ Although very fertile, CA land is but a fraction of that total. It is true that some varieties are peculiar to CA and would become seasonal if we lost the production, but the US can grow most everything we need in the balance of the 450 million. The consequences of losing CA production would be more seasonality in our produce and, of course, higher prices. I haven’t even mentioned the millions and millions of acres available that fail the designation of ‘cropland.’ Here in GA we can even grow stuff in that old red clay (amended a little) 🙂 <bb

            • And A lot of everything picked in California is Picked by illegal aliens. So keep supporting their scam. Get off their GRID. Be independent also with your own regenerating food source. Grow gardens, Raise rabbits and chickens. Pretty maintenance free with them.

              -WWTI…

        • you right…food is a weapon

        • Kissinger: “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people.”

      6. Wow. 395% increase?!? It’ll be Black Friday everyday and everywhere!!! The Walking Dead!!! Lock and load….. and pray.

        • I banged my wife’s best friend.

      7. Fear porn again. Basically the article says that if things get bad, things will be bad. Nothing is expected to occur other than that some day event that we all think will occur anyway. Nothing new here IMO.

      8. The New World Order is creating the Food Shortage.
They have used government over regulation to force thousands of farmers out of business.
Governments around the world are drying up the food supply by stock piling vast amounts of food in underground storage (And it’s not for you).
This is a pending crisis that they are engineering, to help bring about the New World Order.
When your family is starving, Remember Who The Real Enemy Is!

      9. I can’t afford meat and wouldn’t eat it if I could, at least two decades of no meat. Now that country of origin labeling has been done away with, who can trust any of it store bought. Off topic, there is a great Youtube 6 minute video titled: The Dude Drops Orlando Shooting Hoax Truth Bomb Live on TV!!! It’s not American TV because he would never be allowed to say that on TV in America. He is a US Civil Rights activist.

      10. If it Hasn’t happened by now…..All of this BS will happen one day …. I’m on board with the theory .. But it isn’t going to happen in our lifetime..the 1% isn’t going to sacrifice You and I – being the 99% – which is their main source of income..

This is never personal to them .. It’s always business to them.. It’s Just personal to you and I..

So.. Here is my Advise… Go Have some fun.. Don’t worry so much about dooms day.. God in heaven .. (Not alibaba) is the only one that can make the world disappear in a snap
Of a finger .. Not man..

Live, love and Laugh.. Cause life is too damn short to sweat the small stuff…

        • Didn’t someone say something like .. The pesemists are storing gold . The realists are storing food brass and lead. I’m sure I’m wrong.

      11. Great article.

It brings to mind the old expression; “He who controls the oil controls a nation. He who controls the food controls the people.”

And it is all about control.

        • … Take Back Control. It’s all about FREEDOM!

      12. Meat doesn’t have any problem eating me out in the wild. Bears, lions, snakes, bugs, sharks, feral hogs, vultures… all enjoy a good human occasionally. Shoot, even the worms getcha on the flip flop. I like my veggies and grains, but I am a blood Type O shortly descended from hunters and gatherers who left me with 4 canines to rip and tear flesh. When I teach, I always ask my students about the old Inuit diet (Eskimo) after forcing them to watch Nanook of the North. Very Atkins (y). The only reason to avoid meat is because it is tainted, and sometimes that is a good reason with all the crud out there in the feed and water

      13. They can shut down the food and water and then they will start to attacking the people
They do NOT ever want Ranchers and Farmers..
And No Nation want our food any ways..
They do NOT even want to feed it to their animals.
The only ones taking it are the country who wants to depopulate the people.

        • So…take a good, hard look at humanity. Especially Urban and “well educated” humanity…and tell us if you were an “elite”…wouldn’t you want to depopulate the planet? Just a little?

      14. Since the elites can torch their crops to deny them to the people after the people quit buying their stuff, the elites themselves, and their dead henchmen, can be eaten by the people.

      15. Yes, there will be food shortages. Of course, they will be engineered by the government. When a government makes it a criminal act to have a small family garden, you can expect full and well the same government is planning to starve a few million people (a la Holomodor).

      16. As in the last article. I just got more food and water purification. (Saywer).

My garden is looking great. Just got my first picking of peas, tomatoes, Peppers, Kohlrabi, Broccoli, and Cauliflower out of the Garden. Forgot a quart of Red Raspberries. Corn, Beans, Potatoes, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Onions all look great. The God Lord has given us the rain when we needed it. So with garden there will be enough food for the Wife and I to last until the spring. That doesn’t mean we won’t still buy more for the stock pile. A person that won’t do this is NUTS.

Folks we know that it is coming!!!! NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT!!!!!!

        Sgt.

        • Gardens are good insurance for sure. I just picked the earliest jalapenos that we have ever had and the tomato plants are loaded as well. Zone 3-4 is cold and we are lucky we have a greenhouse for a head start each year.

This year may be the one that it all pans out and the preps we have been working on for years pay us back. Those who have drug their feet and have no preps are going to be in for a hurtin real soon I think.

The 6 cord of logs that have to be cut and split is the prep for July. Have to get that done before the canning begins in August!

Campsite prep is an ongoing thing.

        • Our fig bushes are hanging full, and we’re having plenty of rain.

          • Every Italian immigrant that had the capability had a fig tree. They wrapped them up the fall for winter with straw, tar paper and twine in the north east.

            • We don’t do a thing to our fig bushes except trim them back occasionally to keep them from taking over the yard. They tend to spread out.

        • My special heirloom sweet corn, Stowells Evergreen, is ten feet tall and tasseling. I have spaghetti squash the size of basketballs, from seed I saved from last year.

Let me tell ya, this seed saving and heirloom planting can become addictive.

I just dumped into the corner of the garden my first run of compost. Black gold!!!! Got my next batch of last falls leaves loaded into the bin and tomorrow will clean the chicken house and add to that.

Even if tenotwawki never happens in the my life time, I’m having the time of my life playing in the dirt with all this stuff. 🙂

          • Seems growing anything takes a green thumb and ten dirty fingers…

            Be well all…

            • So I guess that finger lickin’ takes a little longer in your abode eh… Eight fingers and two thumbs. Unless you’re one of THEM!!!

      17. Just For Everyones Info

AOL is having issues with logging on and E mails today.

        • They’re still around? I quit AOL and CompuServe 20 years ago after I got internet.

          • AOL? I remember Compuserve and GeoWorks. Before then, BBS for ALL!!!

            • I used Delphi and GEnie before CompuServe. Delphi was my first access to the internet, before the world wide web. The main thing back then was gopher menus, along with Archie, Veronica, telnet, and finger.

              • Anybody remember “Just Ask Jeeves” search engine?

                • Or AltaVista, the first search engine back in 1996?

          • Also, I liked DRDOS, SCOUNIX, OS/2, Xenix, NOVELL, and so many other programs and OS to ever list – and I’m in my 40’s.

        • AOL? Who uses AOL anymore these days? Reminds me of the Juno days, kinda like those obsolete fax machines of the years past.

          • I use aol. First email I’ve had and never changed. I am horribly offended by your comment. I’m on the phone with a lawyer now discussing possible pain and suffering.

      18. I have been doing plenty of preaching as to things coming to a head in the next few months. What has me thinking is all the free and low cost material that has come my way. I told you of the plywood. I was given some cinder and solid blocks. Cheap magazines in real good condition in the flea market. Two boxes of hurricane straps by the side of the road. (I went back to the same place I got the plywood and there they were in the trash.) There has been other gear that has shown up that I have purchased.

Now this streak of luck has been the longest I have ever had in my life. Even the garden has given me 22 eggplant from 3 plants. Broccolli and cabbage has began resprouting. With more cherry tomato’s I can handle. Green peppers on their way. Already pulled up 60 onions.

I tell you it is weird how things that I could not get done before is coming together.

        • Make hay while the sun shines.

Right now, genealogy is doing the same thing for me. New information is just flowing my way with hardly any effort on my part.

Get all the building supplies you can. Anytime you want to build something, you can just go out back for supplies instead of going to a store. I rarely have to go shopping when I’m working on a small project.

      19. If Americans put half the effort in going food that they do maintaining their golf green lawn they wouldn’t have a grocery bill. The WWII victory garden had the intent of boosting morale but low and behold it ended up producing 20% of the US fresh vegetables.

        • People on my road don’t have lawns. They have yards with whatever volunteers to grow in them. I have dandelions, clover, oxalis, wild onions, honeysuckle, wandering jew, Queen Anne’s lace, and maple trees keep trying to grow everywhere.

[My previous comment was blocked because I had the nerve to name a wildflower, the wandering j–.]

        • The suburban lawn rabbit, almost tame, will probably get one hell of a surprise in the future like the buffalo did when settlers arrived.

      20. Growing not going

      21. I am putting in more preps again and scattering them out all over my area.. not keeping my food at one location… Scientist says that very bad, bad, very bad things are about to happen and he has been reading my post and even told me that I am telling the truth and I am being laughed at some, and that most of your guys on here mat survive it. he say that 50% of all real preppers will survive it.. it’s the satellite and drone strikes and air force is what we need to worry about because the cabal will activate AI, after they bail. women are really screwed, he keeps bringing up the women’s situation…all the women will be a thing of the past mostly men will survive and men are responsible for the mass extinction of women globally.. what kills them tells us, the same thing that take place when armies invade, so i don’t have to report the sick gory details.. you get the picture… every one needs to get ready, he said that the level of violence and pestilence that we will experience is undetermined at he present, that October and November of this year is when it starts.. then the 1 th planet startd to reck the earth’s environment, yes Niburi is not gone yet, first comes the floods then it’s winds and crystal shifts, California, is need to leave there immediately within 30 days and get the hell out..quit your job, get out now..

        Regards

        HCKS..

        • Methinks you are full of shit. You said a couple of months ago it was going down a couple of months ago. WTF?

          • Methinks his “scientist” friend is f’n with him. Probably likes to get a rise out of him and make him panic.

        • HCKS: Switch the car off and get out of the garage.

        • HCKS
I hope you are wrong with Oct. and Nov. Keep the info coming. A lot of the time when the info is out things don’t happen.

      22. like the Jews of WW2 if you enter one of these camps there you will DIE you may enter but never leave

      23. “population growth, rapid urbanization, extreme weather and political crises combine’

So first we must accept that the population will explode , next we accept that there is no longer farmland [ does agenda 21/socialism cause rapid urbanization ?], then we accept that “wild” weather is climate change/warming , and then we need to worry about anyone but Hillary for political office .

So junk in and junk out .

        • Over populated UK, more and more immigrants being added to an already overcrowded small island, roads blocked with traffic, not enough schools for children, waiting several days to see a GP-“doctor” hospitals being overwhelmed by the number of extra patients, homelessness spike due to the lack of housing… As a result there is a mad dash to upgrade the housing stock. Any and every available space within cities and towns is now being developed, our precious “greenbelt” areas that are suppose to be protected from developers is being bulldozed, along with vast sways of good farmland. The UK is now unable to produce enough food for its population, over 50% of foodstuff is now imported from overseas and still the number of people entering the UK rises rapidly!!! The freedom of movement policy dictated by the EU is having a terrible affect on many people in Britain, and there are some idiots who are still trying to work out why the UK democratically voted to leave the EU… We are Taking Back Control.

      24. Plant trees. Trees have roots that go deep. They pull up water and once established will survive with little to no attention. Plant perennials that continue to fruit year after year. Develope the soil in your yard by adding earth worms, old leaves, chicken droppings. You will be amazed how much better you feel when you start working outside and start eating your own fruit, which tastes so much better than store bought. Pick a few of your favorite vegtables and try your best to not kill them. Get a helper. You don’t have to do it all. I lucked out. My son sent me a guy who had gone to horticultural college and was a really great gardener. He did the work and explained why he did what he did. I’m guessing there is a jr. College or state college that have horticultural classes that you could take or if you’re too lazy to do it, find a student who wants a chance to get some real world experience starting and maintaining a food project.

      25. I appreciate this article, but I don’t agree. Malthus’ premise is fatally flawed, exactly as was demonstrated by the Julian Simon/Paul Ehrlich (former catastrophic global cooler turned catastrophic global warmer) wager in the 1990s.

Julian Simon: “The most important benefit of population size and growth is the increase it brings to the stock of useful knowledge. Minds matter economically as much as, or more than, hands or mouths.”

Simon that bet global coolers Paul Ehrlich and current-warmer-then-global cooler John Holdren that the price of chromium, copper, nickel, tin, and tungsten would go down, not up, by Sept. 29, 1990. In fact, all five commodities – which Ehrlich selected – went down by the targeted date. In Oct. 1990, Ehrlich mailed Julian Simon a check for $576.07 to settle the wager. No word if current unelected Obama science czar Holdren chipped in any dough or not. But – as the last refuge of scientific (or economic) scoundrels – of course, “this time will be different.” See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon%E2%80%93Ehrlich_wager for the Wikipedia summary of this wager.

      26. Oh yes. Speaking of that non-Einstein Ehrlich, who has still not gone away (one might think – to save the environment – he might have done himself in by now, but apparently that’s for other people). In April, 2012, the Royal Society published People and the Planet – calling for the West to be de-industrialized, as well as for a drastic reduction in population based on their demonstrably preposterous “modeling” analyses. Ehrlich states: “They (population and resources) multiply together. You have to deal with them together. We have too much consumption among the rich and too little among the poor. That implies that terrible thing that we are going to have to do which is to somehow redistribute access to resources away from the rich to the poor…you might be able to support in the long term about 4 or 5 billion people. But you already have 7 billion. So we have to humanely and as rapidly as possible move to population shrinkage.” And $100 to first person who guesses who will be in charge of that redistribution process, as well as who will be exempted because they are “special” (and you can start with Nancy Pelosi and her exemption of herself, her district, and her union cronies from Obamacare, or ask Michelle Obama on her next uber-luxe vacation).

Long story short, the Guardian reports that the Royal Society basically would like to sequester everyone on megacities to reduce material and energy consumption, as well as “systematically decoupling economic activity from environmental impact.” In sum, Agenda 21 –see the Planet Under Pressure article at http://www.planetunderpressure2012.net/pdf/pr_27_03_12_options_opportunities.pdf for full details. Or as the chief scientist behind Planet Under Pressure, Michail Fragkias states, ““the answer (to population growth) is denser cities.” Of course, the question presents itself as to whether these cities are meant to be Nazi-like ghettoes, to allow better control of the sheeple. Meanwhile, AD Barnosky, et al, in Nature, June 17, 2012, warns that by 2050, we will have at minimum 9.5 billion people, with distinct possibility of there being 27 billion people. The UN also cited a figure of 9.5 billion by 2050 in Science (7/29/11). The indefatigable Ehrlich lets us know in Nature that “in biophysical terms, humanity has never been moving faster or further from sustainability than it is now.”

Truth is, population is expected to peak in the very near future, then shrink drastically. But don’t expect the fascist left to tell you that – too much control available if they stampede the sheeple into being controlled by the elite.

      27. Look, I believe in preparedness, for all kinds of reasons. But Malthusianism? A scam. Facts? Here are some scaremongers from the past:

        – Best-selling economist Robert Heilbroner in 1974: “The outlook for man, I believe, is painful, difficult, perhaps desperate, and the hope that can be held out for his future prospects seem to be very slim indeed.”

        – Former catastrophic global cooler turned catastrophic global warmer ecologist Paul Ehrlich in 1968: “The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s [“and 1980s” was added in a later edition] the world will undergo famines—hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked on now … nothing can prevent a substantial increase in the world death rate.”

        – Jimmy Carter in a televised speech in 1977: “We could use up all of the proven reserves of oil in the entire world by the end of the next decade.”

        – Philip Cafaro at Univ. of Colorado stated “Scientists now speak of humanity’s increased demands and impacts on the globe as ushering in a new geological epoch: the Anthropocene. Such selfish and destructive appropriation of the resources of the Earth can only be described as interspecies genocide…Ending human population growth is almost certainly a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for preventing catastrophic global climate change. Indeed, significantly reducing current human numbers may be necessary in order to do so.”

        – In 2004, emeritus professor of physics at California State University, Roger Dittmann, stated that all policies related to Agenda 21 should be pursued with the aim of worldwide population reduction and population control. “The Big Die Off,” the professor eagerly added, “has already begun.” In order to facilitate such a massive “die-off,” the professor proposes (page 18) global governance to make sure the directives will be universally applied:

        – “University College’s Emeritus Professor John Guillebaud, patron of the UK-based “Population Matters”, who depicted among other things a machine-gun, a hospital bed, and a knife dripping with blood, as examples of “natural” population control as opposed to “artificial” methods such as contraception and family planning.” The word Nazi comes to mind when I think of this disgusting person.

        – DeWayne Cecil, a former NASA climatologist, has argued recently on the Sharon Kleyne Hour Radio Talk Show that the earth cannot support more than 500 million people if the current “western” lifestyles persist.

The misanthropy gets worse. Professor Ignacy Sachs, in a classic case of Newspeak, advocates for a “virtuous green path” (aka Agenda 21), which is essentially a policy, as presented in a 1991 UN Conference on Environment and Development, for a transfer of wealth and a world dictatorship. You can read the UN paper yourself at http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0009/000902/090217eb.pdf, but here are a couple illustrative quotes from Sachs: “The bolder the steps taken in the near future… the shorter will be the time span that separates us from a steady state. Radical solutions must address to the roots of the problem and not to its symptoms. Theoretically, the transition could be made shorter by measures of redistribution of assets and income”; “The aim is to build a civilization of being within greater equity in asset and income distribution, so as to improve substantially the entitlements of the broad masses of population and of reduce the gap in standards of living between the have and the have nots.” Of course, Sachs points to the political difficulties his green nostrums being implemented because free humanity tends to distrust any national government let alone transnational government to redistribute its well-earned wealth. Thus, the programe is to be prosecuted by stealth, over time: “The pragmatic prospect is one of transition extending itself over several decades.”

Wired.com notes about the acid rain emergency of yesteryear, which was the 1980s version of AGW: “In the 1980s it was acid rain’s turn to be the source of apocalyptic forecasts. In this case it was nature in the form of forests and lakes that would bear the brunt of human pollution. The issue caught fire in Germany, where a cover story in the news magazine Der Spiegel in November 1981 screamed: “THE FOREST DIES.” Not to be outdone, Stern magazine declared that a third of Germany’s forests were already dead or dying. Bernhard Ulrich, a soil scientist at the University of Göttingen, said it was already too late for the country’s forests: “They cannot be saved.” Forest death, or waldsterben, became a huge story across Europe. “The forests and lakes are dying. Already the damage may be irreversible,” journalist Fred Pearce wrote in New Scientist in 1982. It was much the same in North America: Half of all US lakes were said to be becoming dangerously acidified, and forests from Virginia to central Canada were thought to be suffering mass die-offs of trees (in fact, the use of coal, and later oil, stopped the destruction of forests in early America, and later the destruction of whales. Fertilizer made from natural gas also halved the land requirements for agriculture and freed it for wildlife, more trees, national parks, and more.) Conventional wisdom has it that this fate was averted by prompt legislative action to reduce sulphur dioxide emissions from power plants. That account is largely false. There was no net loss of forest in the 1980s to reverse. In the US, a 10-year government-sponsored study involving some 700 scientists and costing about $500 million reported in 1990 that “there is no evidence of a general or unusual decline of forests in the United States and Canada due to acid rain” and “there is no case of forest decline in which acidic deposition is known to be a predominant cause.” In Germany, Heinrich Spiecker, director of the Institute for Forest Growth, was commissioned by a Finnish forestry organization to assess the health of European forests. He concluded that they were growing faster and healthier than ever and had been improving throughout the 1980s. “Since we began measuring the forest more than 100 years ago, there’s never been a higher volume of wood … than there is now,” Spiecker said. (Ironically, one of the chief ingredients of acid rain—nitrogen oxide—breaks down naturally to become nitrate, a fertilizer for trees.) As for lakes, it turned out that their rising acidity was likely caused more by reforestation than by acid rain; one study suggested that the correlation between acidity in rainwater and the pH in the lakes was very low. The story of acid rain is not of catastrophe averted but of a minor environmental nuisance somewhat abated.

        • I wonder if the fact that we are hear is that something destroys us before we can permanently destroy the planet . Then God patches things up . But this time it’s different. We go to the next level with him?

          • LW, partially true. The fact is, if you believe in Scripture, God told us in Genesis to be fruitful and multiply. Nothing wrong with *natural* methods of birth control, but God has put in a natural equilibrium where population is **generally** matched with human development to allow that population to survive. In fact, we have enough calories today to feed the world. The problem is *distribution* and other sociopolitical things. For example, a few years ago, writer Os Guiness noted that rats – that can’t be killed for socio reasons – in India eat enough to feed the population. What if we had the political will to use thorium for power? The list goes on and on. God has made provisions – is is man’s intractable-ness that is the problem. Wayne Grudem has a recent book on this. You might check it out.

      30. Looking forward to the weeding out

      31. Damn, that whole article should have been titled Health, Safety and Welfare, how your Government will protect you. This article is intended for the mental and physical protection of all Snowflakes in the butt hurt generation of losers. I can see all the tear stained faces of the masses of poor me snowflakes shouting to the heavens their praises of the government who will wipe their tears, powder their butts and lead them to safety behind the walls erected by fema to protect them. They will obey all directives even as they take their last breath knowing that the government will see to all their needs.

To hell with history and the actions of tyrants. Can’t let facts interfere with what der government claims is the best chance at survival. But hey if there is going to be a food shortage as they claim then what better way to harvest protein powder for smoothies then a good vibrant fema camp.

In reality the further you are away from anything that says government the better your chances of survival no matter what the condition. It seems these articles are great fodder for the masses who are being programmed at an alarming rate to accept the commands of faceless officials who only have your best interest at heart.

Like stock yards, a great way to cull the herds is come on in to “Camp Fema”. Just trust us we know what is best for you, don’t waste your time studying history or relying on your own resources. You might learn something, and then you will be part of that racist, sexist, homophobic, Christian group that gave you this problem.

      32. The only people who will receive food, will be those who surrender their freedom and follow the government.

My plan is to hunt those who are being fed, and eat them. God will forgive me.

      33. This is just my humble opinion but I think we need a food shortage crisis. I think it’s very possible along with many other scenarios. We have become such a wasteful country. I am sick of seeing waste everyday. Restaurants and grocery stores throw out millions of pounds of food. Don’t even try to find a use for it. And can’t hardly do anyway because somebody might get sick and sue. Once again , dirty , leech sucking lawyers in play. France passed a law that grocery stores had to find someone to give the groceries to if they were throwing food out. Might not b exact wording but u get the idea. Can’t imagine our forefathers seeing our wastefulness today. Maybe a few million mouths are hungry for a while they will learn to appreciate food and the farmer. This globe can’t support more people. I wish there were more articles on that subject. You think it’s bad now , throw in a few more billion people. Mostly chimps and ragheads. I’ll be saving the last bullet for my temple

        • Here in the US a store cannot give away expiring food to a food bank without facing legal liability. Lots of places won’t even accept fresh food grown in a garden or even a farm, for the same reason.

      34. The sissy average person goes to the emergency room for a cut or sniffles. People used to have thick skin some still do. Tuff as nails. If your soft people put yourself through harsh reality now voluntarily. No whining. When we are all struggling people are not gonna care about others crying for band aids.

      35. Food will never go up 395%. There will be only three kinds of food after SHTF – what you have in your preps (no change in price), what the food rioters took after after looting grocery stores (free?), and the “barter price” set by whomever still has any food they are wiling to trade.

      36. America is a throw away society. We waste lots of things and place too much stuff in landfills. At our place there is no garbage for the trash man. the paper and some food things like tea bags, banana peels go in the compost. the rest of the food scraps goes to the pigs. We burn the plastic and cans. The burnt cans then go into the compost and rust away to nothing. I break up the glass and cram it into groundhog holes to stop their digging or give it to a recycling place. Most things come in plastic jars anyway. Yet I see the rural garbage pickup run every week.

        • Old Guy- good point about trash. I’ve often wondered how we were going to stop generating trash as a tell tale sign of having food, paper products, etc. You see people obsessed with having paper plates and toilet paper as preps, but that stuff has to get thrown out, burned or flushed and there will probably not be any flushing going on come shtf around here. Various reasons I won’t go into, but we live on hilly terrain and we are close to a lift pump operated by a generator that runs to a sewerage plant.

Trash is going to get some people killed.

      37. Out house. corn husk leaves a wet rag. sears catalogue. /folks where wiping their ass long before toilet paper.
