The 2016 election has been a wild ride, with two insurgent grassroots campaigns literally giving the political establishment a run for its money. But as the events of this presidential primary season play out, it’s becoming clear the U.S. election — and even more so, the presidential race — is a big scam being perpetrated on the American people.
Events from the last week have exposed the system as an illusion of choice and a farce. They have reinforced at least one study showing the U.S. is an oligarchy rather than a democratic republic.
The Wyoming democratic caucus took place on Saturday, purportedly to allow voters to have their voices heard in the race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Sanders lost the Wyoming caucus by winning it with a 12 percent margin.
Wait, what?
How does one lose by winning 56 percent of the votes? This happens when the political process is, according to the New York Post, “rigged” by superdelegates. The Post summed up this “strange” phenomenon:
“[U]nder the Democratic Party’s oddball delegate system, Sanders’ winning streak — he has won seven out of the past eight contests — counts for little.
“In fact, despite his win, he splits Wyoming’s 14 pledged delegates 7 to 7 under the caucus calculus.
“Clinton, meanwhile, also gets the state’s four superdelegates — who had already pledged their allegiance to her in January. So despite ‘losing,’ she triumphs 11-7 in the delegate tally.”
Even media pundits on MSNBC openly called the process rigged:

The superdelegate process is complicated, as we’ve noted before, but they have one essential function: to prevent candidates like Bernie Sanders from winning the Democratic nomination.

Adding insult to injury, even when Sanders does win states (despite Hillary’s advantage in superdelegates), the media can be reliably counted on to discount Sanders’s wins as nothing more than prolonging the electoral process, which will inevitably elect the presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton. This pervasive commentary continues despite the fact Sanders only trails her by several hundred pledged delegates.
Meanwhile, according to the same media, the non-establishment Trump campaign is threatened every time Ted Cruz beats him — even though Trump leads by a larger percentage of pledged delegates than Clinton does. When Clinton loses, it doesn’t matter because she already has the nomination locked up. When Trump loses, his campaign is in big trouble. Starting to see the problem with the media coverage?
When you examine these media narratives, a troubling pattern emerges that goes beyond the political establishment’s self-interest. You begin to see that American corporate media also functions as an arm of the political machine, protecting establishment candidates while attacking — or dismissing — candidates who seem non-establishment.
This brings us to the events that transpired during the Republican nomination process in Colorado on Saturday. The Republican Party of Colorado didn’t even bother letting people vote before using arcane rules to strip the democratic process of its democracy. According to the Denver Post:
“Colorado GOP leaders canceled the party’s presidential straw poll in August to avoid binding its delegates to a candidate who may not survive until the Republican National Convention in July.
“Instead, Republicans selected national delegates through the caucus process, a move that put the election of national delegates in the hands of party insiders and activists — leaving roughly 90 percent of the more than 1 million Republican voters on the sidelines.”
Unsurprisingly, Trump’s non-establishment campaign walked away with zero delegates. They were all “awarded” to Ted Cruz.
“How is it possible that the people of the great State of Colorado never got to vote in the Republican Primary? Great anger — totally unfair!” Trump said on Twitter. “The people of Colorado had their vote taken away from them by the phony politicians. Biggest story in politics. This will not be allowed!”
In an interview on Monday, Trump was even more frank. “The system is rigged, it’s crooked,” he said.
The Colorado GOP didn’t even bother hiding its intentions, tweeting — then quickly removing — what was possibly the most honest insight into the back-door dealing so far this election season
The Republican party chooses the nominee, not the voting public. Still in disbelief? Watch a Republican National Committee member explain it better than I can:
What we are witnessing — for the first time on a large scale — is the political establishment’s true role in selecting the president of the United States. The illusion of choice has become apparent. The establishment anoints their two picks for president, and the country proceeds to argue vehemently over the two candidates they are spoon-fed. This dynamic is reminiscent of a prophetic 1998 quote from philosopher Noam Chomsky:
“The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum.”
Ahh, the illusion of choice. Sure, in reality there are third party candidates who should be given a fair shake, but in our mainstream media-augmented reality, third parties do not exist. They aren’t mentioned. They aren’t even included in presidential debates. This is another way the media stifles healthy debate, stamps out dissenting opinions, and preserves the status-quo.
“We The People” don’t choose our presidents; they are hand-picked by a powerful group of political party insiders — parties that have long since sold out to the highest bidders. What we have on our hands in America is a rigged oligarchy, and that’s not a conspiracy theory — it’s fact. I Live in Wyoming. We do the caucus system. I realized 10 years ago just how crooked it was. This year I went and specifically spent my time trying to figure out who was voting for who. The vote was mostly a rise your hand for who you were interested in then a write on a piece of paper who you were voting for as the delegated. 70% of the people raised their hands for Trump. Yet when all was done Cruz got all the delegates. Im not sure that Trump got a single one.
I voted for trump. But I believe in democracy and would have supported whoever he people wanted. But this is not what the people wanted. It is little better than a Banana Republic. You have a small group of people who go thru the motions then choose whomever they want.

While we can say that it’s nothing new that elections are rigged, for many people it is news. Some of the sheeple may have had a wake up call from Sanders and Trump. They have showed them that voting doesn’t mean anything. If you vote, you have to vote for one of “them”. If they thought we could vote “them” out, they would simply change the rules. Also, the US, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have given ISIS, Al Nusra and Al Qaida manportable air defense systems. MANPADS. Shoulder fired missiles for shooting down aircraft. 4 Syrian/Russian aircraft have since been shot down in the last month. This wouldn’t possibly be a problem for civilian flights, would it? The Russians may retaliate and give similar weapons to other groups like the PKK, etc.

None of the Trumpbots seem to have a problem that Captain Hairpiece has a larger percentage of the delegates than he has of the votes. What? *cricket cricket* What about the “winner take all” states? In effect that is similar to the electoral college. Once you take the majority you take the entire state. It kept one from pandering to a state like California at the expense of Nevada. There is a huge difference ; PEOPLE VOTED and he got the majority of the votes cast. The People had no vote at all here.
In State A a person with the majority of the votes gets all delegates.
In State B a person with no votes gets all the delegates.
One can see with the above clarification that the opportunity for corruption lay with State B above.

I’ll add to your well written post above that the Federal Reserve is just one Franchise of the IMF. Another action needed is a standard not fiat currency needs to be established that cannot be circumvented via Fractional Reserve Banking. It used to be called, “Living within your means”. Another is strict adherence to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. A clarification of “Equal protection under the law”, requiring equal enforcement under the law. Its of course implied but like “Shall Not Be Infringed” not having teeth there needs to be some legal repercussions when the Bill Of Rights is bypassed. Certainly politicians voting themselves perks that are unheard of in the private sector like a pension for life after serving one complete term should be addressed.

I listened to two Republican Party officials, each on a different channel; they both tried to explain how and why there was no primary in Colorado, but gave different explanations. Therefore one HAS to be lying, but likely they both are. The political, electoral, voting process is hopelessly corrupted, they truly don’t want to hear from average citizens; it has even been by party officials it’s not the voters who elect candidates, it’s the delegates, and rest assured many are “on the payroll” The system is not only corrupt, but purposely murky. Politicians say the political systems of the USA is transparent, they want you to believe that great lie so that you will continue to have faith in the system, the system from which they derive their wealth and power. That system that confiscates our wealth, property, and assets from us against our will for THEIR purposes and use. The voting process, though inconsequential, exists only to make citizens believe they have a voice. STOP being gullible!
I’ll say it again, STOP voting. The middle class is only a milk cow to them. When you vote you are lending them legitimacy, that power you give them is in turn used against you. STOP voting! Besides, there is a difference ideologically between Dem.’s and Rep.’s, but not in practice. The Rep. cannot have what they want, neither can the Dem. unless they compromise (collude) to give each other what they want. The citizens are rarely privy to the actual processes by which deals are attained. But the fact most of them are hidden speaks volumes.
These politicians have voted for gigantic deficits, endless wars, tax increases, trade deals that have destroyed our manufacturing base, the prison/industrial complex, bailouts for Wall Street-nothing for Main Street, a bogus national health care act, etc. How have they really helped the majority of working citizens? I do know this, it hasn’t helped the middle class but it sure as hell helped the wealthy and powerful. Wealth concentration is at an all time high, and continues unabated even as the economy gets worse for everyone else.
Government is essentially a private club, the members see themselves ruling over their own fiefdoms where they do as they want, and get away with it because they are above the law. I can guarantee you if you did only one thing Hillary did you would certainly spends years and decades in prison. Stop buying into the system, stop voting, stop it now! They truly don’t care for you. They actually despise the public in general. Even Trump as a billionaire is not welcome because he’s not in the club. And for the naive, even all that is said in this comment barely scratches the surface.

This has been going on for a long time but they have been adding a lot more rules over the last couple of decades. They have the power- through these rules surrounding delegates- to determine who is nominated, to a point… They do not have complete control yet. The democrats are far worse, Bernie wins the popular vote in some of the states and Clinton takes almost all of the delegates.
This election is exposing just how corrupt the system has become.
