This article was written by Michael Snyder and originally published at his Economic Collapse blog.

Editor’s Comment: There is no doubt that the government that exist today in Washington is part of the evil that has swept over the land. It takes part in many nefarious and sickening agendas, and conspires to deprive people of their rights so that it can accumulate more and more power.

Americans today are fed up with it, and the serious depth of that anger is seen in the unprecedented support for atypical candidates like Trump, Cruz and Sanders. Many don’t support these false leaders either, but see a bigger upset coming, and a crumbling system that will have to reset the bargain the population somehow, or face revolutionary pressure. The country is divided against itself and so hardly anyone in power is standing up for the right reasons. How much more can the situation take before it breaks, and spills into unrest?

Americans Really, Really Hate The Government

    by Michael Snyder

If there is one thing that Americans can agree on these days, it is the fact that most of us don’t like the government.  CBS News has just released an article entitled “Americans hate the U.S. government more than ever“, and an average of recent surveys calculated by Real Clear Politics found that 63 percent of all Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction and only 28 percent of all Americans believe that the country is heading in the right direction.  In just a few days the first real ballots of the 2016 election will be cast in Iowa, and up to this point the big story of this cycle has been the rise of “outsider” candidates that many of the pundits had assumed would never have a legitimate chance.  Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders have all been beneficiaries of the overwhelming disgust that the American people feel regarding what has been going on in Washington.

And it isn’t just Barack Obama or members of Congress that Americans are disgusted with.  According to the CBS News article that I referenced above, our satisfaction with various federal agencies has fallen to an eight year low…

A handful of industries are those “love to hate” types of businesses, such as cable-television companies and Internet service providers.

The federal government has joined the ranks of the bottom-of-the-barrel industries, according to a new survey from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Americans’ satisfaction level in dealing with federal agencies –everything from Treasury to Homeland Security — has fallen for a third consecutive year, reaching an eight-year low.

So if we are all so fed up with the way that things are running, it should be easy to fix right?

Unfortunately, things are not so simple.

In America today, we are more divided as a nation than ever.  If you ask 100 different people how we should fix this country, you are going to get 100 very different answers.  We no longer have a single shared set of values or principles that unites us, and therefore it is going to be nearly impossible for us to come together on specific solutions.

You would think that the principles enshrined in the U.S. Constitution should be able to unite us, but sadly those days are long gone.  In fact, the word “constitutionalist” has become almost synonymous with “terrorist” in our nation.  If you go around calling yourself a “constitutionalist” in America today, there is a good chance that you will be dismissed as a radical right-wing wacko that probably needs to be locked up.

The increasing division in our nation can be seen very clearly during this election season.  On the left, an admitted socialist is generating the most enthusiasm of any of the candidates.  Among many Democrats today, Hillary Clinton is simply “not liberal enough” and no longer represents their values.

On the other end of the spectrum, a lot of Republican voters are gravitating toward either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.  Both of those candidates represent a complete break from how establishment Republicans have been doing things in recent years.

Now don’t get me wrong – I am certainly not suggesting that we need to meet in the middle.  My point is that there is absolutely no national consensus about what we should do.  On the far left, they want to take us into full-blown socialism.  Those that support Donald Trump or Ted Cruz want to take us in a more conservative direction.  But even among Republicans there are vast disagreements about how to fix this country.  Establishment Republicans greatly dislike both Trump and Cruz, and they are quite determined to do whatever it takes to keep either of them from getting the nomination.  The elite have grown very accustomed to anointing the nominee from each party every four years, and so the popularity of Trump and Cruz is making them quite uneasy this time around.  The following comes from the New York Times

The members of the party establishment are growing impatient as they watch Mr. Trump and Mr. Cruz dominate the field heading into the Iowa caucuses next Monday and the New Hampshire primary about a week later.

The party elders had hoped that one of their preferred candidates, such as Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, would be rising above the others by now and becoming a contender to rally around.

The global elite gathered in Davos, Switzerland are also greatly displeased with Trump.  Just check out some of the words that they are using to describe him

Unbelievable“, “embarrassing” even “dangerous” are some of the words the financial elite gathered at the World Economic Forum conference in the Swiss resort of Davos have been using to describe U.S. Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

Although some said they still expected his campaign to founder before his party picks its nominee for the November election many said it was no longer unthinkable that he could be the Republican candidate.

The truth is that the Republican Party represents somewhere less than half the population in the United States, and today it is at war with itself.  Supporters of Trump have a significantly different vision of the future than supporters of Cruz, and the establishment wing wants nothing to do with either candidate.

A lot of people seem to assume that since Trump is leading in the polls that he will almost certainly get the nomination.

That is not exactly a safe bet.

It is my contention that the establishment will pull out every trick in the book to keep either him or Cruz from getting the nomination.  And in order to lock up the nomination before the Republican convention, a candidate will need to have secured slightly more than 60 percent of all of the delegates during the caucuses and the primaries.

The following is an excerpt from one of my previous articles in which I discussed the difficult delegate math that the Republican candidates are facing this time around…

It is going to be much more difficult for Donald Trump to win the Republican nomination than most people think.  In order to win the nomination, a candidate must secure at least 1,237 of the 2,472 delegates that are up for grabs.  But not all of them will be won during the state-by-state series of caucuses and primaries that will take place during the first half of 2016.  Of the total of 2,472 Republican delegates, 437 of them are unpledged delegates – and 168 of those are members of the Republican National Committee.  And unless you have been hiding under a rock somewhere, you already know that the Republican National Committee is not a fan of Donald Trump.  In order to win the Republican nomination without any of the unpledged delegates, Trump would need to win 60.78 percent of the delegates that are up for grabs during the caucuses and primaries.  And considering that his poll support is hovering around 30 percent right now, that is a very tall order.

In the past, it was easier for a front-runner to pile up delegates in “winner take all” states, but for this election cycle the Republicans have changed quite a few things.  In 2016, all states that hold caucuses or primaries before March 15th must award their delegates proportionally.  So when Trump wins any of those early states, he won’t receive all of the delegates.  Instead, he will just get a portion of them based on the percentage of the vote that he received.

In 2016, more delegates will be allocated on a proportional basis by the Republicans than ever before, and with such a crowded field that makes it quite likely that no candidate will have secured enough delegates for the nomination by the time the Republican convention rolls around.

If no candidate has more than 60 percent of the delegates by the end of the process, then it is quite likely that we will see the first true “brokered convention” in decades.

If we do see a “brokered convention”, that would almost surely result in an establishment candidate coming away with the nomination.  That list of names would include Bush, Rubio, Christie and Kasich.

And if by some incredible miracle either Trump or Cruz does get the nomination, the elite will move heaven and earth to make sure that Hillary Clinton ends up in the White House.

For decades, it has seemed like nothing ever really changes no matter which political party is in power, and that is exactly how the elite like it.

Our two major political parties are really just two sides of the same coin, and they are both leading this nation right down the toilet.

      1. The folks in Burns, Oregon learned their lesson the hard way. 1 dead, 5 or more arrested. This is a lesson in “how not to do things”. Anybody remember Gordon Kahl, Randy Weaver, and the Covenant, Sword and Arm of the Lord incidents? Get guns, get camo, get a group of people, get arrested or get killed. Those that don’t get killed get long prison sentences. Study this incident. This is not how to defeat the feds. Be smart. Be invisible.

        • The problem was that they did not have a national issue. Yes, the BLM is a bunch of bastards, but most Americans will never have to deal with them so it didn’t resonate and the movement didn’t grow large enough to have overwhelming numbers. If you are going to do such a thing (not that I am suggesting you should), it has to be something that will draw massive enough support to have uprisings in most states simultaneously. Anything less will just result in the government having it’s way and having control over your message.

          • If they had organized a regional tear-down of fences and left the Wildlife Reserve alone, they would have had a lot more support, both in Burns and nationally.

I said this was the wrong place and the wrong time, and the wrong approach, at the outset of this. Maybe next time the folks that want to do something like this will think a lot harder about how to win.

          • Reading between the lines you realize the shocking overreach of the FBI and Oregon State Police.

Everybody expected Bundy and his group to be arrested eventually. There were trespassing on federal property.

But why did the FBI and State Police provoke a shoot out on the highway? Bundy had been going to the FBI headquarters at the airport trying to talk to the FBI. The FBI could have arrested him there at any time without incident, but they choose to force a confrontation on the highway when these men were driving 70 miles away to share their story at a group meeting. The FBI clearly did not want these men to tell their story.

            Here is the shocking part:

The FBI said all eight face a federal felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation or threats.

Where is the criminal trespass on federal property charge? Fox news reports: Another man “who was a subject of a federal probable cause arrest” was killed in the shootout.

A probable cause arrest is an “on view” arrest. This means that a Federal Agent witnessed a crime then made the arrest. This is not a “warrant” arrest. A warrant arrest means a judge signed a warrant accusing the Militia Members of a crime.

So, The federal agents stopped the Bundys and Militia Men, provoked a shoot-out, then arrested them for “impeding an officer” or as we know it better, resisting arrest. Where is the warrant? Where is the charge of criminal trespass?

The FBI stopped these people without criminal charges then provoked a shooting so they could kill.
Why are they not charged with criminal trespass? The answer is: a judge has not signed a warrant for criminal trespass yet because that information is public record and it would have been in the news.

Three months from now we will read about this again and it will all have started from a “traffic offense” which they will use as justification for the traffic stop. That is why the Oregon State Police was there, to make fake traffic charges. The FBI has no jurisdiction over traffic related offenses.

It is also noteworthy that local law enforcement was not involved in this. I suspect the locals rejected participation because they knew this was an illegal provocation.

It is Ruby Ridge all over again.

            • I am not disagreeing with you in the least. What I am talking about is political strategy. In any movement you need people who are willing to be the muscle and those who are the strategists. I am suggesting that their strategy was not sound, not that they were in the wrong so far as the core issues go.

          • The bag of dicks was a genius level move.

Some young guy in some alphabet agency is getting promoted for that one.

Instant “I don’t give a fuck either” from many of the fence sitters online. Once you’ve made them into clowns, well, it’s not like anyone’s going to love the agency that took ’em out, but it’s not like anyone’s actually going to care either.

Allowing an (almost) totally peaceful take down of the situation. Well… totally peaceful compared to Waco / Ruby Ridge / Dorner… on and on…

Bravo. Someone came up with a better way of doing it. They just sat it out for a while and then turned them into a mockery until no one cared and everyone stopped paying attention. The child molestation hat trick… it’s old, man. No one buys that shit anymore. I see they were about to “go there” and then canceled at the last second. Probably a good call.

          • I have a real question: Why aren’t gun owners/second amendment advocates organized so that we SPRING into action/protest should the government attempt an Australian gun grab?

They past the legislation so fast after a shooting incident and then you had a short time to turn your nugs in or be guilty of a felony.

We MUST be ready and prepared to first take peaceful action to let them know we will not comply! We need to show the world that we are ready to fight rather than surrender our right of self defense and ability to act as a check on a tyrannical government.

Right now it seems our response is just come and get them. Someone please tell me that we will stand in, at first, serious non-violent protest. The kind that makes the Vietnam protests look tame!

      2. Just on fox how local police have until April 1st to return equipment ect that they received from the U.S. government so hey that tells us were good till then at least

        • Godsoldier:

Well to me it looks like the Government is going to make their move, and True Patriot Cops will be disarmed to help locals to fight back.

As far as discontent with the Guberment. Well Hell Yes!!!!

We work and then the Guberment tells me because I work I have to give you almost 30% of what I make to you and so that you can built roads (that look like a B52 just dropped a full load on it) Put in sewer systems then turn around and charge me to use it. Take care of the pour and needy. Then you find out that they are driving better cars and eating better food than you and the are getting about 9 of sleep a night then they don’t do anything other than set at home and what the TV. And have more kids. And free housing.

          Sgt.

        • or between now and April 1st they will “Find” many uses to “justify” needing such equipment

          stay frosty my friends

        • They want it back so when shtf we cant use it aganist the feds. Wake up folks. The fed does everything for a reason. Its not for your good

          • They were caving in to ghetto mob demands, looking for votes.

      3. 19 Trillion in debt
        220 Trillion in unfunded liabilities

And the following which I’ll start seeing…

I don’t know where you guys live, but my guess is if you look around you’ll see a similar situation.

In about six weeks as spring starts to arrive here in central Idaho, I’ll start seeing vans with out of state plates drive pass my little farm and pull off on the Federal land about a mile east of my home.
The vans are overloaded with people from parts unknown, some look Mexican other Central American Indians. They are cargo, vans or trucks some with local plates pick up the ones they have ‘ordered’?
Where do they go from here? Who knows? They may end up on local ranches, some shipped further north to parts unknown.
My friend who works at the local health clinic will provide them with health care then they disappear.
You may hear a rancher quip about getting young ‘brown tail’
They create a black market economy no politician acknowledges.
This is madness, Trump has my vote.

      4. The structure of our government isn’t what is flawed. We’ve had many years of good times with the same basic government. It’s the friggin’ communist/liberal/progressives who have been voted into office that are wrecking the country. These people go directly against the tenets this country was founded on. We are now reaping the rewards.

        • rednek101

Are you familiar with the depression era banking and finance regulations known as Glass-Steagall that reined in the excesses of the Financial Sector? It was championed for demise by Republican Establishment, they we’re vilified in the Main Stream Media for their desire to remove it and deregulate the financial sector and it was Democrats that tagged along and ended it in 1999. How has that worked for the economy?

Are you familiar with Free Trade that eviscerated US manufacturing and sent it to the 3rd world? The Republican Establishment championed that too, were vilified for doing so and Democrats completed the task in 1994 and 1999. How has that worked for the economy.

See a pattern in the above? One side starts it, the other finishes it. Blame is cast and your standard of living falls.

The system is fascist at the very top, a collusion of Banking / Business & Government. From there down the goal is sharing what is left over through communism.

Face this fact, both party’s are guilty. I do find the Democrats a bit more deceitful. The Republicans will proudly say they support deregulating the Banking / Finance sector and Free Trade. The Democrats vote for it then say……Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush to their ignorant supporters.

          • People have GOT to figure out that there”s only ONE party: the “elites” party! Call ’em Republicrats or Demopublicans, it doesn’t matter. The “elites” have chosen all candidates, and when it matters they choose the winners. NOT US.

        • redneck 101

We’re actually fascist at the top and what hasn’t been taken by them is being distributed as much as possible through socialism.

Free Trade, banking / financing deregulation were started and completely supported in the Neo-Conservatives huddle. They were carried to a touchdown by the Democrats.

Most of what you see and hate with entitlements are symptoms not causes.

        • Well, with all it’s faults, I still think this country is the best in the world over time. Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Mussolini, the list goes on and on, all killed millions for their causes. The clown commies/liberal/progressives we’ve put in office the past 30 years have done a lot of damage but they haven’t killed millions. You can dump on the U.S. all you want but it’s still much better than most countries. The ammo needed to swing the pendulum back the other way has already been fired and is having effect. This ammo was fired off by the liberals who fail to understand that their policies cannot work because they defund themselves. The economy is falling and defunding the liberals. Even a died in the wool liberal is seeing the effect of the liberal agenda and policies. It doesn’t work. Hasn’t got a prayer of working.

          • rednek-

I agree, the US is still the best thing going.

          • “Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Mussolini, the list goes on and on, all killed millions for their causes. The clown commies/liberal/progressives we’ve put in office the past 30 years have done a lot of damage but they haven’t killed millions.”

Really? Have you checked out the poisons called vaccines and other “medicines”? How about the aluminum, barium etc. content of the air you’ve been breathing? Toxic food additives? And on and on…

*sigh* They’re just being more sneaky this time.

      5. The divide in the nation wasn’t this bad 7 1/2 years ago.

The whites hate the Guberment because they told us that they are taking more of our money to fund the Guberment.

The Blacks hate the Guberment because they aren’t getting every thing that they thought that they would with a 1/2 Black Prez. in office.

The Hispanics hate the Gubement because they had the Idea that they would be welcome with open arms and just move right in and take over an area.

And the reason this is not going well and there is such division is because you have already over taxed the middle class. Black, White, Red, Yellow. There just isn’t any more to be taken from US!

One day the Leaches and Zombies will want more and when they are told they can’t have it they will revolt. Then the Givers (RED WHITE BLACK YELLOW) middle class will get their bellies full and fight back. There will be a target rich environment. Don’t think for one minute that the super rich will fare well when this all comes down. I wouldn’t want to be the Super Rich or the Leaches.
        On the day of Reckoning.

        • “The divide in the nation wasn’t this bad 7 1/2 years ago.”

          second.

i never feared being a white guy until obama set race relations back 50 years.

its true that both parties are to blame for the economic state of things but the blowback on whitey and blowback on cops is all on obama, which i’m sure probably makes him smile. what a POS.

          • This!!!!

        • just so you know Dale, the blacks dont and never saw Obama as a 1/2 white anything

blacks ignore the “other half” if it suits thier purpose , there are those that are black and hate him,, but its not the black half they hate..its the white half

          • Just so everyone knows, there’s no such thing as being half balack. You either are or you’re not.

        • I’d like to think you are right, Sergeant, but you’re talking to a bunch of cowards, about 100,000,000 cowards, last count. Most of the cowards are perverts, dopers, alcoholics, psychos, commies, progressives, liberals, left wingers, democrats, right wingers, and republicans. And did I mention, lawyers?

My dad’s generation took Guadalcanal, Midway, the Philippines, Okinawa and Paris.

Ain’t going to be no day of Reckoning.

Nobody today going to take that hill. You want that hill, Sgt., you take it.

          The rest are cowards.

          Semper Fi

          • Perhaps part of the reason nobody wants to “take that hill” is because some people realize that IT’S NOT OURS TO TAKE!

With all of the wrongful endeavors the military has been used for, people are starting to realize that WE are in the wrong, most of the time now. We’re not “taking hills”, we’re stealing oil, opium fields and gold. We’re bombing hospitals and schools, not terrorists. We’re game pieces for an elite that cares nothing for what is right, but only for what they desire.

That’s not an incentive to go all “gung-ho” into the next war – which will be a big mistake too.

People are sick of dying for securing more profits for the elites…as it should be.

      6. I have come to the conclusion that it does not matter one iota what any of us think or do, the decision has been made to put Hillary in the white house and it is going to happen. All you have to do is watch the noise coming from the financial elites and world organizations to see who they pushing for. And it doesn’t matter how bad she screwed up during her time in office, she will be pardoned. Just like when Ford pardoned Nixon for anything he may have done while in the white house, Obama is going to give Hillary a pardon for any and all crimes she may have committed while in office. He has the power to pardon her for any crimes, whether charged or not. Obama asked Sanders to meet with him today and I am sure he was told that Hillary is his choice. I don’t know where it is going to end, but the people are not in charge and never will be.

        • Kevin2, exactly.

          • Maybe we’re not in charge, but that doesn’t mean we should roll over and present our bellies in submission. We may be outgunned, but we’re not beaten yet…unless we believe we are.

There’s still some bite left in this old dog.

      7. Everyone here should test your own water, you cant trust the Feds or your local politicians ,, they would kill you or your child and never blink an eye.. the only thing that would change this attitude is immediate prison sentences , with out giving any consolations that these people were PAID to care take the safety of their states residence.. they FAILED..all of them, so they all should be in prison

The state-specifically Governor Snyder’s administration-has completely ignored the plight of the people of Flint. Until it became a political brush fire through media coverage. While the residents of Flint were being poisoned daily, the governor’s henchmen concerned themselves with the important business of concocting excuses for why the state shouldn’t be responsible for fulfilling one of it’s most fundamental duties-the protection of it’s citizens. If the residents of Michigan can’t count on Snyder to protect them from their drinking water, they damn sure won’t be able to count on him intervening on their behalf if/when the feds start their gun confiscation program. I consider him to be just another NWO, establishment hack, along with everyone else in positions of power in local , state and Fed government

        • Flint is a glaring example of what the common public is thought of. I see little substantive difference between here and the USSR in about 1970. There is a difference for now, you can vent but can’t make changes. From a practical standpoint there is no effective difference in political power and control.

As the comedian and political satirist George Carlin accurately stated, “Its a big club and your not in it”.

          • R.I.P George Carlin. That man was a legend, spoke for some of us that was well awake even back then.

        • And it’s the same with big Pharma and the medical establishment. If they make a mistake, it’s just “whoops, sorry”. Sometimes, not even an apology because that admits culpability. Flu shot leave you with Guillain Barre??? Whoops, sorry. NSAIDS gave you a heart attack after ruining your stomach? Whoops, sorry. Know that advice about taking an anti-inflammatory and using ice after an injury that we pushed for years??? Whoops, sorry. Just found out that it inhibits the initial healing process substantially. Well, you didn’t need that shoulder anyway, did you?

        • Enemy, I live less than a hour from Flint. it was not the Governor who did this!! Here is the story. It started with the Democraps in Detroit were given a monopoly on water in SE MI. After years of corruption we pay California rates for water because of the thieves in Detroit!!!
Why? The people in Detroit and flint stopped paying their water bills when Obama came into office. Detroit and Flint finally gave up collecting and told the suburbs YOU will pay the difference in non payment.
As part of this debacle Flint Democraps went off on its own and built a cheap water system. The net result was Flint Democraps poisoned their own people because they did not know how to build a water system!!!
When doctors finally discovered people were being poisoned In Flint the democrats panic button was pushed. The democraps do has they always have done blame some one else. In this case it was the governor. Pure BS the whole fiasco on the news…

          • Thanks for clarifying.

      8. Well as long as the American people VOTE then sorry it ain’t gonna change folks ever.

      9. I dont have much to say, but will say a few things.

After reading what happened in Oregon, the murders, etc. I know know what Dr James Garrow warned us about. He had mentioned that The Texas air space is controled by the feds, and that if the state refuses to allow it, then people will bot be able to travel to and from our state. I dont have much comment about the incident, but will say this. I know for a fact that chinese soldiers are in my state, and in my city and the jihadist, russians are in here for sure. If you recall how i found out about the russians. I believe with ever fiber in my being that tanks will be rolling into Houston down Hwy10, Hw 45, hw6 all the major highways. During Hurricane Icke, they went to Pearland, and Friendswood, trying to take peoples guns, etc. The tanks and equipment was shipped in Jade helm 15, remember.

The milita leader was shot in his face, and 6 rounds in his body and the snipers emptied out 120+ rounds into the vehicle, they killed a woman. This is natzi germany, stalin, and mao. This is why they are trying to take the guns. Can you all even imagine what will take place next now that this happened. I can almost gaurantee you that they will not be releaseing the body to the militia mans family because they know that he will be photographed to show online, to the public and belive me, i cant even imagine what happens next…

I am just watching what comes next, if its bad, i will face and take it like a man. If i die, then phuck it, then i am dead. But i will not surrender myself to foreign soldiers to watch them rape women, girls, children, brutal executions, etc, and all the crap that they enjoy doing to civilians. This govenment is evil beyond comprension, and this is just a fact of life. Muslims run the united nations, muslims project that power. The chinese are allies with those phuckers and so are the russians. They will come in together. its here now, the war is here, the enemy has taken over, and this is just a fact. I am going to die inside this country soon and i accept my faith. I no longer fear death. I was warned that 2016 is where the laughing stops, and it’s just January, so what will the next 11 months look like. The war is here and it already started, the webbots picked it up.

        Aka,

        HCKS.

        • every man dies

          not every man lives

          • BTW when anyone speaks of this LaVoy Finicum

he was MURDERED.. Not killed or any other such narrative .. the FBI want to have full control over the “words” used

the word for what happened to this man is he was Murdered

            period!

watch and wait for the spin

            • The spin is already in. The govt has dubbed the sheeple as VICTIMS in this affair. The Bundy’s were stealing from “The People” lands that “belong to the people”.

WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT. As if “The People” ever had any control over that wildlife refuge. As I pointed out in another forum – just let the govt decide to close those lands, for any reason, and see what happens. Remember the sequestration? They closed the national parks and monuments, even posting guards to keep people out – if “The People” own those so-called public places, how did the govt justify closing them and arresting people who trespassed on govt places?

The government doesn’t need to justify or explain itself = because THE PEOPLE do not own those lands and monuments – THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOES.

It’s a stroke of genius to label the citizens as victims, and then unleash the slighted hounds. The govt let the mad sheeple do the dirty work for them.

And not one stupid sheep realized it. They were too busy fighting an imaginary war, for their imaginary brass ring.

              • THIS WAS A PERFECT PSY-OP.

        • One of the things that scares me is that so many people support Trump without thinking. He is not really interested in individual liberty but rather is an authoritarian who chose to run as a Republican. He has come out in support of eminent domain being used to transfer property from private citizens to corporations as well as having said he wants to get rid of “assault weapons”. Back in 1990 (the interview was on Zerohedge in the last few days), he also said he supported how the Chinese government dealt with Tienanmen Square because they used a show of strength. He also said the problem with Obamacare is that it doesn’t go far enough and give enough power to the government, so he would double down on it. It sounds to me like he wants a single payer system that none of us wanted in the first place. The thread that runs through everything he says is that he likes heavy handed tactics and concentrating power in the hands of the few. Sadly though, people are looking for a messiah lo lead them out of the wilderness and not a president, so the details and his record mean little. He says a lot of things I can agree with in general but the details of how exactly he would accomplish them I cannot agree with.

      10. 1. The Feds picked this fight. They apparently suckered Ammon and Co. by having locals invite them to a meeting, intending all along to ambush them at a deliberate road block and to simultaneously take down the occupation site.
        2. This was totally unnecessary since the resolve of the occupiers was weakening and they were in negotiations to achieve a peaceable exit. What the hurry was is mystifying to me since the Feds negotiated with the Montana Freemen for 81 days before coming to a peaceful resolution.
        3. Our attitude was that as much as we disagreed with Ammon Bundy’s choice of targets, tactics, timing and “friends” like the sociopath (and probable Fed provocateur) Ryan Payne, the Feds had a higher duty not to violate the occupiers’ due process rights.
        4. A sniper’s bullet at a pre-planned roadblock is NOT due process.
        5. Such an action would not have been done without the sanction of the political leadership in the White House. Therefore we can conclude that this is, once again, the Feds making a show of the Waco logic embodied in Catch 22: “We can do anything you can’t stop us from doing. We are the Imperial Feds and you WILL obey us.”
        6. We need more information and confirmation of what I have written, but it is apparent that the Feds are giving us all a choice.

        Sipsey Street ..Mike V

        • Yup. There was no reason to murder this man except that the Feds had to use force to make an example out of someone. They had not used violence in any way to occupy those buildings and had stated repeatedly that they did not want escalation. The only reason for them to need guns for this protest is that it forced the issue into the national spotlight before the Feds could silence them and sweep it under the rug. I could hope that it would at least cause people to think about BLM excesses for a while and try to see their point of view, but the Super Bowl is on TV in a few days so this will quickly be washed out of the news cycle and things will go on as they have.

          • A few days away? Try more like 12 days away from today. Anything short of a major attack or major assassination will be long gone from the news cycle before 12 days is up, this guy was already off the radar as far as news goes, the last card he had to play was going out with a bang, which is what he said he would want over going to jail so he made his last headline and the rest opted for room and board at the graybar hotel for awhile, proving nobody stays in the spotlight too long anymore, the news cycle simply moves too fast. This entire episode will be long forgotten within 3 months time from now, that’s simply how it is.

            • 12 days? I thought it was this Sunday. Shows how little I care about professional sports!

      11. There is a reason that we as a nation are as divided as ever. Put quite simply it is the divide and conquer playbook being implemented upon the American people. As long as Americans are put in a position where all their energies are taken up focusing on things they shouldn’t have to be focused on, Americans become a disorganized rabble that can be easily manipulated and controlled. So long as we are fighting amongst ourselves, those that have created this nightmare we are now living in, can steer us like sheep in any direction they want. Our sheep mentality is predominantly a result of what we see and hear via the media. So long as the box in our living room says “all is normal, nothing to see hear”, we believe it to be so. The opposite can also be true as the media stirs the pot to divide us and pit one group against the other over the most trivial of things.
I find it astonishing that more public anger was stirred up over a president lying about a BJ than a president lying about reasons for a war that cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and cost a trillion dollars. The bottom line is this, so long as the American people allow such things to occur, we will get the government and the future we deserve. The only way to stop the manipulation of the American people is for us to recognize that we are being manipulated by those that are supposed to be our representatives, not our shepherds. It is only then when we can do something about it and restore our nation. We as a people have far more in common with each other than we have differences, but to listen to corporate media, you would never know it.

        • ❤❤ 🙂 ❤❤

      12. If Trump gets the nomination, Obama will manage to stay in office. A crisis will be created so he has to “temporarily” suspend elections until order is maintained. This is what I see is going to happen. No one is stopping him from all his illegal actions so he will keep going until he is dictator-in-chief.

        • HILLARY WILL STOP HIM, BECAUSE THAT SEAT BELONGS TO HER! Damn it, she’s going to be queen, and she doesn’t care who she has to kill to get that crown. Wait and see.

      13. “63 percent of all Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction and only 28 percent of all Americans believe that the country is heading in the right direction.”
The problem is obvious, Liberal progressives and union Government employees are our problem( the 28%). Eliminate/marginalize them.

        • That’s exactly it too – by the time you add in the immediate family, about a third of the populace works for the government. I saw that figure somewhere else.

      14. I will be interested to see what the Oregon troopers involved say, and what the men who were arrested say. Also, was there police video? There should be, right?

Does not pass the smell test.

Seems like a story out of Russia or China…

        • Russia and China are not like they used to be either. Right now, WE are the new communist state headed for a nose-dive.

      15. Forget it. We’ll see and hear what they WANT us to see and hear. If they have to, the Feds will see to it that a bus “accidentally” blows up with all of the occupiers in it, or an airplane falls on them… SOMEthing. THE FEDS DON’T CARE whether we believe them or not! As long as we can’t prove it wasn’t an accident, or it wasn’t started by the official Bad Guys, they won’t listen to us. If they DID listen, we’d be in danger ourselves. That will come too soon enough.

      16. americans have set quietly while illegal immigration is being used to destroy their country, its will end badly just like germany, france, sweden and other countries in europe, america will be no different.

      17. We’re toast – we just haven’t got the sense to pop up yet.
