We’re All Enemies of the State: Draconian Laws, Precrime, & the Surveillance State

Do you LOVE America?

This article was originally published by John W. Whitehead at The Rutherford Institue.

“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.”—H.L. Mencken

We’ve been down this road many times before.

If the government is consistent about any one thing, it is this: it has an unnerving tendency to exploit crises and use them as opportunities for power grabs under the guise of national security.

As David C. Unger, a foreign affairs editorial writer for the New York Times, explains, “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have given way to permanent crisis management: to policing the planet and fighting preventative wars of ideological containment, usually on terrain chosen by, and favorable to, our enemies. Limited government and constitutional accountability have been shouldered aside by the kind of imperial presidency our constitutional system was explicitly designed to prevent.”

Cue the Emergency State, the government’s Machiavellian version of crisis management that justifies all manner of government tyranny in the so-called name of national security.

Terrorist attacks, mass shootings, “unforeseen economic collapse, loss of functioning political and legal order, purposeful domestic resistance or insurgency, pervasive public health emergencies, and catastrophic natural and human disasters”: the government has been anticipating and preparing for such crises for years now.

It’s all part of the grand plan for total control.

The government’s proposed response to the latest round of mass shootings—red flag gun laws, precrime surveillance, fusion centers, threat assessments, mental health assessments, involuntary confinement—is just more of the same.

These tactics have been employed before, here in the U.S. and elsewhere, by other totalitarian regimes, with devastating results.

It’s a simple enough formula: first, you create fear, then you capitalize on it by seizing power.

For instance, in his remarks on the mass shootings in Texas and Ohio, President Trump promised to give the FBI “whatever they need” to investigate and disrupt hate crimes and domestic terrorism.

Let that sink in a moment.

In a post-9/11 America, Trump’s promise bodes ill for whatever remnants of freedom we have left. With that promise, flippantly delivered without any apparent thought for the Constitution’s prohibitions on such overreach, the president has given the FBI the green light to violate Americans’ civil liberties in every which way.

This is how the Emergency State works, after all.

Although the damage wrought by these power grabs has been most evident in recent presidential administrations—under Trump, Obama, Bush, and Clinton—the seeds of this present madness were sown, according to Unger, in 1940, when President Roosevelt, the “founding father of modern extraconstitutional presidential war-making, the military-industrial complex, and covert federal surveillance of lawful domestic political activity,” declared a national emergency.

So what does the government’s carefully calibrated response to this current crisis mean for freedom as we know it? Compliance and control.

For starters, consider Trump’s embrace of red flag gun laws, which allow the police to remove guns from people “suspected” of being threats, will only add to the government’s power.

As The Washington Post reports, these laws “allow a family member, roommate, beau, law enforcement officer or any type of medical professional to file a petition [with a court] asking that a person’s home be temporarily cleared of firearms. It doesn’t require a mental-health diagnosis or an arrest.

Be warned: these laws, growing in popularity as a legislative means by which to seize guns from individuals viewed as a danger to themselves or others, are yet another Trojan Horse, a stealth maneuver by the police state to gain greater power over an unsuspecting and largely gullible populace.

Seventeen states, plus the District of Columbia, now have red flag laws on their books. That number is growing.

In the midst of what feels like an epidemic of mass shootings, these gun confiscation laws—extreme risk protection order (ERPO) laws—may appease the fears of those who believe that fewer guns in the hands of the general populace will make our society safer.

Of course, it doesn’t always work that way.

Anything—knives, vehicles, planes, pressure cookers—can become a weapon when wielded with deadly intentions.

With these red flag gun laws, the intention is to disarm individuals who are potential threats.

We need to stop dangerous people before they act”: that’s the rationale behind the NRA’s support of these red flag laws, and at first glance, it appears to be perfectly reasonable to want to disarm individuals who are clearly suicidal and/or pose an “immediate danger” to themselves or others.

However, consider what happened in Maryland after a police officer attempted to “enforce” the state’s new red flag law, which went into effect on Oct. 2018.

At 5 am on a Monday, two police officers showed up at 61-year-old Gary Willis’ house to serve him with a court order requiring that he surrender his guns. Willis answered the door holding a gun. (In some states, merely answering the door holding a gun is enough to get you killed by police who have a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later.) Willis initially set his gun aside while he spoke with the police. However, when the police attempted to serve him with the gun confiscation order, Willis reportedly became “irate” and picked up his gun again. At that point, a struggle ensued, causing the gun to go off. Although no one was harmed by the struggle, one of the cops shot and killed Willis.

According to the Anne Arundel County police chief, the shooting was a sign that the red flag law is needed. What the police can’t say with any certainty is what they prevented by shooting and killing Willis.

Therein lies the danger of these red flag laws, specifically, and pre-crime laws such as these generally, especially when you put the power to determine who is a potential danger in the hands of government agencies, the courts, and the police.

After all, this is the same government that uses the words “anti-government,” “extremist” and “terrorist” interchangeably.

This is the same government that, in 2009, issued a series of Department of Homeland Security reports on Rightwing and Leftwing “Extremism,” which broadly define extremists as individuals, military veterans and groups “that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.”

This is the same government that, as first reported by the Wall Street Journal, tracks military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and characterizes them as extremists and potential domestic terrorist threats because they may be “disgruntled, disillusioned or suffering from the psychological effects of war.”

This is the same government that keeps re-upping the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which allows the military to detain and imprison American citizens with no access to friends, family or the courts if the government believes them to be a threat.

This is the same government that has a growing list—shared with fusion centers and law enforcement agencies—of ideologies, behaviors, affiliations and other characteristics that could flag someone as suspicious and result in their being labeled potential enemies of the state.

For instance, if you believe in and exercise your rights under the Constitution (namely, your right to speak freely, worship freely, associate with like-minded individuals who share your political views, criticize the government, own a weapon, demand a warrant before being questioned or searched, or any other activity viewed as potentially anti-government, racist, bigoted, anarchic or sovereign), you could be at the top of the government’s terrorism watch list.

Moreover, as a New York Times editorial warns, you may be an anti-government extremist (a.k.a. domestic terrorist) in the eyes of the police if you are afraid that the government is plotting to confiscate your firearms, if you believe the economy is about to collapse and the government will soon declare martial law, or if you display an unusual number of political and/or ideological bumper stickers on your car.

According to the FBI’s latest report, you might also be classified as a domestic terrorism threat if you espouse conspiracy theories, especially if you “attempt to explain events or circumstances as the result of a group of actors working in secret to benefit themselves at the expense of others” and are “usually at odds with official or prevailing explanations of events.”

Additionally, according to Michael C. McGarrity, the FBI’s assistant director of the counterterrorism division, the bureau now “classifies domestic terrorism threats into four main categories: racially motivated violent extremism, anti-government/anti-authority extremism, animal rights/environmental extremism, and abortion extremism.”

In other words, if you dare to subscribe to any views that are contrary to the government’s, you may well be suspected of being a domestic terrorist and treated accordingly.

Where many Americans go wrong is in assuming that you have to be doing something illegal or challenging the government’s authority in order to be flagged as a suspicious character, labeled an enemy of the state and locked up like a dangerous criminal.

    That is not the case.

All you really need to do is question government authority.

With the help of artificial intelligence, a growing arsenal of high-tech software, hardware, and techniques, government propaganda urging Americans to turn into spies and snitches, as well as social media and behavior sensing software, government agents are spinning a sticky spider-web of threat assessments, behavioral sensing warnings, flagged “words,” and “suspicious” activity reports aimed at snaring potential enemies of the state.

It’s the American police state’s take on the dystopian terrors foreshadowed by George Orwell, Aldous Huxley and Phillip K. Dick all rolled up into one oppressive pre-crime and pre-thought crime package.

What’s more, the technocrats who run the surveillance state don’t even have to break a sweat while monitoring what you say, what you read, what you write, where you go, how much you spend, whom you support, and with whom you communicate. Computers guided by artificial intelligence now do the tedious work of trolling social media, the internet, text messages and phone calls for potentially anti-government remarks—all of which is carefully recorded, documented, and stored to be used against you someday at a time and place of the government’s choosing.

This is the world that science fiction author Philip K. Dick envisioned for Minority Report in which the government is all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful, and if you dare to step out of line, dark-clad police SWAT teams will crack a few skulls in order to bring the populace under control.

In Dick’s dystopian police state, the police combine widespread surveillance, behavior prediction technologies, data mining and precognitive technology to capture would-be criminals before they can do any damage: precrime.

In the film Minority Report, the technology that John Anderton, Chief of the Department of Pre-Crime in Washington, DC, relies on for his predictive policing proves to be fallible, identifying him as the next would-be criminal and targeting him for preemptive measures. Consequently, Anderton finds himself not only attempting to prove his innocence but forced to take drastic measures in order to avoid capture in a surveillance state that uses biometric data and sophisticated computer networks to track its citizens.

With every passing day, the American police state moves that much closer to mirroring the fictional pre-crime prevention world of Minority Report.

For instance, police in major American cities have been using predictive policing technology that allows them to identify individuals—or groups of individuals—most likely to commit a crime in a given community. Those individuals are then put on notice that their movements and activities will be closely monitored and any criminal activity (by them or their associates) will result in harsh penalties.

In other words, the burden of proof is reversed: you are guilty before you are given any chance to prove you are innocent.

Dig beneath the surface of this kind of surveillance/police state, however, and you will find that the real purpose of pre-crime is not safety but control.

Red flag gun laws merely push us that much closer towards a suspect society where everyone is potentially guilty of some crime or another and must be preemptively rendered harmless.

Again, where many Americans go wrong is in naively assuming that you have to be doing something illegal or harmful in order to be flagged and targeted for some form of intervention or detention.

In fact, U.S. police agencies have been working to identify and manage potential extremist “threats,” violent or otherwise, before they can become actual threats for some time now.

In much the same way that the USA Patriot Act was used as a front to advance the surveillance state, allowing the government to establish a far-reaching domestic spying program that turned every American citizen into a criminal suspect, the government’s anti-extremism program renders otherwise lawful, nonviolent activities as potentially extremist.

In fact, all you need to do these days to end up on a government watch list or be subjected to heightened scrutiny is use certain trigger words (like cloud, pork, and pirates), surf the internet, communicate using a cell phone, limp or stutterdrive a car, stay at a hotel, attend a political rally, express yourself on social mediaappear mentally ill, serve in the militarydisagree with a law enforcement officialcall in sick to work, purchase materials at a hardware store, take flying or boating lessons, appear suspicious, appear confused or nervous, fidget or whistle or smell bad, be seen in public waving a toy gun or anything remotely resembling a gun (such as a water nozzle or a remote control or a walking cane), stare at a police officer, question government authority, or appear to be pro-gun or pro-freedom.

Be warned: once you get on such a government watch list—whether it’s a terrorist watch list, a mental health watch list, a dissident watch list, or a red flag gun watch list—there’s no clear-cut way to get off, whether or not you should actually be on there.

You will be tracked wherever you go.

You will be flagged as a potential threat and dealt with accordingly.

This is pre-crime on an ideological scale and it’s been a long time coming.

The government has been building its pre-crime, surveillance network in concert with fusion centers (of which there are 78 nationwide, with partners in the corporate sector and globally), data collection agencies, behavioral scientists, corporations, social media, and community organizers and by relying on cutting-edge technology for surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, biometrics, and behavioral epigenetics (in which life experiences alter one’s genetic makeup).

If you’re not scared yet, you should be.

    Connect the dots.

Start with the powers amassed by the government under the USA Patriot Act, note the government’s ever-broadening definition of what it considers to be an “extremist,” then add in the government’s detention powers under NDAA, the National Security Agency’s far-reaching surveillance networks, and fusion centers that collect and share surveillance data between local, state and federal police agencies.

To that, add tens of thousands of armed, surveillance drones and balloons that are beginning to blanket American skies, facial recognition technology that will identify and track you wherever you go and whatever you do. And then to complete the picture, toss in the real-time crime centers being deployed in cities across the country, which will be attempting to “predict” crimes and identify so-called criminals before they happen based on widespread surveillance, complex mathematical algorithms, and prognostication programs.

Hopefully you’re starting to understand how easy we’ve made it for the government to identify, label, target, defuse and detain anyone it views as a potential threat for a variety of reasons that run the gamut from mental illness to having a military background to challenging its authority to just being on the government’s list of persona non grata.

There’s always a price to pay for standing up to the powers-that-be.

Yet as I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, you don’t even have to be a dissident to get flagged by the government for surveillance, censorship, and detention.

All you really need to be is a citizen of the American police state.

      1. Interesting post.
If you haven’t figured out by now that Democrats and the Governments aren’t your friend. This won’t help you much.
Prepare for the worst. Get out of the city and relocate to an area where they can barely afford police.
Technology mentioned in the post is expensive and difficult to do in rural areas. I’m a tech sort of guy. I lose my internet if it rains too hard. My UV-5R radio doesn’t work here unless I get high enough. My cell phone only works depending on where I stand on my property and it is one of the best you can buy.
I can get Satellite pictures of my property, they are several years old. Even the county pictures of my property that they use for taxes are old and the plane that takes them crashed a few months back.
My point is the further you get away from cities where the government can concentrate resources, the more freedom you will have.

        • the run to the countryside plan is played out. trump signed funding to bring 5g broadband internet services to the rural parts. spynet is coming to a town near you. trump said he didnt wanna leave country folks out. we all know people move out there to be left the hell alone. if everyone heeded this advise to run to the woods the woods would be full of people the state needed to watch. gov knows people are fleeing the cities to the sticks and they are gonna deal with it. you can run but you cant hide.

You were told you that the USA government/Mossad, would NEVER allow him to go to trial. You were also told government would “suicide” him. Epstein had TOO much dirt on dirty politicians, corporate heads, princes and kings.

          That is how they operate.

These are tools your “elected” government/politician/corporate/TechMonopoly rulers use:
Mass Media Propaganda, Staged Fake Events for media distribution, Death, Destruction, Distraction, False Flags, “Black Mail compromises”, Suicides, Murder, War, Oppression, Tyranny, Famine, *** Divide and Conquer tactics between races/religion/socio economic classes.

They Will take YOUR guns/ammo with made up “Red Flag” laws, with no due process.

Then the Genocide begins when the sheep are unarmed. They want You Deplorables/Patriots unarmed before they Collapse the World economy. Wolves don’t like armed sheep. You are what’s for dinner.

But they better hurry along with gun confiscation. Economy is house of cards built on Lies-Fraud-Worthless paper Fed Notes-Derivatives. One card pulled and All Fall Down. Not just USA. EVERYWHERE. World Economic Collapse.
          – – Last time they did that there was World War 2.

          Next Item:
Things are getting real. (Read story about South Carolina cop shooting innocent man in his own home.)
Violent, Trigger happy, poor marksman, extreme Poor Judgement, very typical Police, . . . . innocent guy lived after being shot through his window.
Take a bully psychopath, give him authority with no consequences of actions, give him a gun, minimal training, then you have a Police Officer.

note how few comments here. Corporate media does not allow such conversation. You are just supposed to watch mindless “sports”/movies and “buy stuff”. Watch that Tel LieVision and be “programmed.”
You will not likely see this comment. But there it is.

          – – – Are you RedList, RedFlag, and Deplorable Proud?

      2. Rellik, damn good points. I feel like a whole new man since leaving stinkin’ Memphis. No more leftist/demorat/minority BS to tolerate within my immediate area because my NEW ‘immediate area is a totally different world, the RIGHT kind of world. Only relatives close by and the nearest libturd trash is in Atlanta, a 3-hour drive from where I sit. Anyone who comes trespassing around here could easily get lost.

        • BTW, I forgot to thanks Mr. Whitehead for another fine article. His website is definitely worth your time.

          • DR, glad to see you finally made it. Hope it doesn’t turn out like my place. One day everything is great and the next thing ya know some asswipes move in next to you. Buy all the land you can around you, overpopulation has a price for those seeking privacy…

            • Ha ha and watch a show called “Fear thy neighbor” it is on ID channel.

              • Genius, the family owns all of the land on the dead-end back road we live on so it will stay great. We all know who belongs and who doesn’t on our back road. We’re not going anywhere and not giving up anything either. Outsiders come into our area at their own peril.

                • All Excellent points from our professional expert SHTF Commentators, rellik, Genius and Dep Ren. rellik’s description of his property sounds like min. No way the LEO’s could triangulate my cell phone position as I am far enough away from any decent cell tower signal. No red light cameras in my sleep small village, no facial recognition, a few County Do-Nothing Deputies.

Get all of your property Boundary areas posted with No trespassing signs and write the words Video surveillance on the bottom of the No trespassing signs. Had 3 County sheriff cars and Deps at my gate a week and a half ago and they were so polite to me because they saw all my signs and probably various cameras taking their photo. I ripped them to shreds of their obstruction of justice, failure to investigate, suppressing evidence, harassing me the victim of County Aquatic personnel trespassing on my private owned canal dumping their aquatic pesticide poisons without my permission, and these deputies refuse to arrest these out of control County Employees who ignore my No trespassing signs and filed on the record a “No Tres Pass Warning” served to them. And yet they still trespass. The basturds need to be full of lead and they will not be trespassing on my property again.

Get your certified land surveys and record your land survey at the County Records Dept . Also contact the BLM in Washington DC and ask to get your Land Patent sitting on the shelf waiting for you to pick up since 1913 or so, as a Warrantee Deed is just the color of title to your land, but a Land Patent is Absolute Title to your property and will beat any land dispute or warrantee deed in al court room land disputes. You will win every time. Once you get our land patent, complete the research on all owners of your property title from the land patent 1845 for Florida all the way to today so you create a complete sandwich of ownership titles to the present date of your ownership. Total cost to get your land patent is about $16 total for 3 certified copies. 1 for you to hold on to, one to file at the Co Recorders Office and the other to send to the Property appraisers office and kindly tell them you are not responsible for their public debt and stop sending you a property tax bill. You can do this by Unrecording your property warrantee deed. They then have no one to send the tax bill to. See legal advice to fit your circumstances.

Land theft by the government is well under way as they are trying to steal all waterways, canal, streams, ponds, back waters and any ditched they claim they can navigate a boat on. They will declare it DEP or County owned with no title work. they just steal it by changing the owners name on their appraiser web site. I just discovered my FL County stealing 6700 acres of wetlands, they have no title work to, nor can or have they produced any paperwork of ownership transfer or any history of sales or granted quit claim deeds. They have NOTHING to claim any of this 6700 acres, as I requested this documents in various Pubic Records Requests to them, in which they replied they have no title transfer paperwork. So thus if you have no title ownership transfer paperwork then basically they just stole all that land on paper or on the Property Appraiser Website. PRR’s -Public Records Request are a powerful tool for citizens to hold your Governments accountable. When going after the Feds, use a FOIA request. Freedom of Information Act.

The government is required to produce reports, docs and any other information you request. and if they fail to promptly you can then take them to court and get fines placed upon them for PRR violations, and you can also have all of your Atty Fees paid by them.

Here are the “Rules to Winning” most every time.
#1 Rule = Know the Rules, Laws, Policies, Ordinances, etc
#2 Rule = Those who have rules like the government has to adhere to, Make them accountable to their own set of rules.
#3 Rule = If some Government Agency attacks you, Go dig into their business for mistakes, flaws, violations, fraud, financial fraud, misuse or abuse of their actions, permit flaws, etc. But dig well into their business activity and docs, and you can do that by asking them for their permits, licenses, Indemnity insurance policy Co info, policy numbers and insurance contact info. Including ask for their Insurance riders or policies for “Errors and Omissions” Insurance policy so you can file a claim against them for damages, permit violations, just rip them to shreds and make them fear you are going to take away their operating licenses because they violated your space or property. Never give an inch, and keep moving forward to your goals. Nobody is above the law, nobody. To win, you need to be smarter than them. I like winning. So should you.

                  • t said, “Those who have rules like the government has to adhere to, Make them accountable to their own set of rules.”

^^^ Saul Alinsky (ites) said the same thing. Make them retrace every step, then.

          • Ketchup, I finally said to hell with everything in the stinkin’ city and made the big move. I did receive an inheritance from my Dad after he died. Not saying how much but it’s enough to live comfortably for the next few years. I bought an old Dodge Ram 4WD that had been parked in a garage for several years and had to spend a fortune on it to get it driveable. It’s a 2003 with only 132000 miles on it, a one-owner. The owner died and his wife was going to sell it to a junkyard for only $1000. I offered her $5000 cash-on-the-spot for it and she jumped on it. That proves that cash still talks. Had to spend another $5000 replacing hoses, fluids, belts, tuneup, dry-rotted tires, brakes, and an A/C compressor. It runs like a champ. So for $10000 I got a truck I would put up against any of the new overpriced trucks with all their electronic junk. Big difference between $10000 and $60000-$70000. I feel like a whole new man being at the BOL permanently now.

            • Howdy TDR,
              On that note…your new purchase, congratulations. You (as well others here) might well find the following ti be particularly interesting, automotively speaking that is. Go over to your search bar and type in – in quotes! – the following;

              “540ratblog oil analysis”

This will take you over to the blog of a rather interesting gentleman who has an absolute fixation on friction which unbeknownst to me is an actual branch of the physical sciences and goes under the name of ‘Tribology’. Aside from being a certified ME (Mechanical Engineer) he got his start around age 10 wrenching on various motors and etc. In short, the proverbial gear-head.
At the site, about halfway down an excruciatingly LONG page you’ll begin to see his rankings for motor oils (both for diesel and gas engines) which as of late contains about 250 oils of various viscosities and manufacturers. Naturally, the first listed is the ‘Best’…but by WHAT criteria?
Well, Rat being an engineer as well as a gear-head came to the conclusion quite a while back that EVERY oil manufacturer was basically blowing snoke up the asses of the entire General Public since they all – without variance – invariably claimed to be the ‘best’.
So, per his dialogue in the preamble to the actual rankings he explains that so long as a non single molecule thick layer of oil exist separating the various bearing surfaces in an engine everything is just fine: the simple physical fact here is that fluids ARE incompressible generally.
However, if it happens that an engine is operating at extrenely high temps, is just being started after a protracted period without being ran or is being started in extremely cold temps then it is quite possible if not in truth likely, that your engines various surfaces are being stood off from each other by an EXTREMELY thin layer of lubricant.
NOW, here’s where we finally get to the good stuff!

Rat developed a mechanical test which when ran produces single molecule thick films between parts…and then ramps up the pressure until that thin film fails and metal to metal contact occurs. The very ‘best’ oils as he determines therein register above 120,000 lbs/square inch (oils for gasoline engines) while the corresponding top diesel oils peak around 102,000 lbs/square inch.

The suprising point in all this is the ‘who’ in the rankings. I won’t spoil your fun in advance but I am quite sure that most reading that might well be shocked as to how thier tried and true blue choice of motor oil fares under extreme stress. Anecdotally, I’ve been a Mobil1 guy since it came out in ’77 and to be sure there are several high value oils listed there which are marketed by Mobil Corp…however, I mistakenly relied on thier prior reputation in selecting oil for my initial foray into the automotive diesel arena. Suffice it to say that the highly touted Mobil1 5W40 Turbodiesel didn’t quite measure up to my expectations when I saw it’s actual ranking…#169 out of 256, that being all ois tested.
Thereafter I purchased a 2016 Silverado HD 3500 and immediate moved it over to the highest ranked diesel oil listed there. The truck has ran flawlessly for over 20K miles since the change over and along with a large variety of neccessary modifications (full delete…) I’m running today with a highway mileage of right at 25 MPG and a around town of just under 18.

Please go check this guy’s site out…make up your own minds, naturally, but I believe that everyone who does will benefit big time in the long run.
As a parting shot for the diesel guys here…I put the AMSOil dual remote filter assembly on the new truck…and I go about 5000 miles before the oul starts to turn dark at all…you can still read the hash marks on the dipstick easily.

              Happy motoring everyone!

      3. The root cause of societal chaos is economic. It is likely to be felt in other ways as the public becomes disruptive, hence the changes, “color of law”, (assuming the US Constitution / Bill Of Rights is the ultimate law of the land). The big question is “when”? What signs will there be to predict it? Chase Bank just forgave all outstanding balances in their credit cards in Canadian hands. Poof…….balance is now zero. Something is going on here that is unusually abnormal and I believe unprecedented. I can’t imagine that this is occurring in a vacuum.

        • WOW! That is unprecidented. Maybe they made a deal to throw it on the govt. debt? I wouldn’t hold my breath on it happening here. Maybe I should get a chase card lol.

        • I have one. No body cancelled my balance, which is 0 at the moment.

        • K2,
          I verified.
Chase didn’t have a lot of debt on those cards.
I assume the Chase stockholders will take up the slack.
Perhaps Most Canadians are like us (SHTF)
and don’t have a lot of debt on our cards?
I pay my Amazon Chase Visa card total balance
every month. I’m surprised they haven’t dumped me yet.
I have a pretty good credit line, I could buy a small car,
          or motorcycle.

They probably were charged with “Predator Lending” and was slammed by a Judge and had to wipe off the debt. Any links to that story out there?

If you ever get hassled by a bank or disputing their illegal fees, tell them you are going to file a banking, Predator Lending” complaint with the FTC – Federal Trade Commission or your State Banking Commission who regulates these banks.

One of the biggest illegal scams bank pull today on the public is charging you a check cashing fee on a check drawn from their bank. The bank teller likes to ask you, “Do you have an account with us?” And you rely back “heck no I hate banks.” Then you kindly tell them its the law, that they have to disclose all fees prior to a transaction, and that there was no warning statement posted on the physical check that cashing it at their bank, would incur a check cashing fee. And if they persist on charging you a fee, tell them that is predator lending. Fees without disclosure.

You see the law is now that if you take money out of an ATM the Fee to be charged is posted on the ATM screen prior to the transaction, and you can choose then to proceed with the transaction or not to use that particular ATM. If there is no Transaction check cashing Fee listed on the check, than you accepted a payment on demand check from their bank and they did not disclose the check cashing fee. I tell the banks if they are going to charge a check cashing fee they need to post that fee notice on the actual physical check for full disclosure. If No fee is posted, they cannot legally charge you a check cashing fee. Charging you as much as $7 to cash a $50 check is like a 14% interest fee and with no disclosure, and that is called “Predator Lending.”

Be smart and stop getting ripped off by banks and their illegal activities. Use your brains, it the best weapon you have to defend yourself against tyranny and rips off schemes.

      4. all these shootings are causing the president to take a stand on guns which will cost him his re election. if he signs any gun control bills he loses my vote. trump remember who got you elected. no new gun laws.

      5. Before Americans can be free again they need to think like free men and women. Mercy, watching those professing to be liberty-minded cling to Republicans’ post 9/11 Warfare State, Torture State, Police State, Prison State, Security State, and Surveillance State is like watching a Ken Burn’s documentary on the Stockholm Syndrome.

      6. Since Mac never allows posts unless they support his advertisement goals I seriously doubt this will make it.

They can get to you any way they can to protect their interests

Epstein is now dead…Long live the Clinton’s I guess. They will never be prosecuted and held accountable for their actions.

      7. They killed epstein

      8. I think of privilege as just another amoral tool, which has found it’s way into the hands of monkeys.

Proactive participation and a human presence, in their turf, is the most disturbing thing, to rats and barbarians.

      9. So one anti government bumper sticker is ok? It would have to fill the whole back side of the car to even hint at the grievances publicly needed.

      10. “use certain trigger words” hypertext ->
‘Scantily Clad Bikini Barristas of Everett Washington’ twerk on popup window in a thong.

I know that it exists, because I saw it in an encyclopedia, once. 😉

My words for it are underwear, nudity, and prostitution.

      11. Real freedom is an illusion in this country. No matter how much land you own, you still live in the digital gulag. Ask the NSA.

      12. Howdy Y’all,
Did you all catch this morning’s news?

Up at the Hedge, “A Shocked World Reacts To News Of Epstein’s Impossible Suicide’
I am SHOCKED… SHOCKED I tell you! Who could see THAT coming with Epstein – effectively – in Super-Max lock-Up. (sarc).

I’ve just about concluded that the sole remaining corrector here is about a thousand Ex-Army or Marines with Sniper backgrounds locked and loaded with Barrett M102A’s chambered for the B416 round.

Here’s your qoute for the day kiddies,
“When Government becomes the Lawbreaker it invites everyman to become a lawbreaker, it breeds Anarchy”
        Justice Louis Brandeis.

Get ready folks…time is short to TAKE it BACK.

      13. DR congrats man, glad someone made it out of the chaos. while I’m in a gated “conservative community” my bug out location is 30 miles away in the mountains. hope I don’t need to use it.

        • Jim in VA, the way things are going I wouldn’t be waiting so long before going there. I think you’ll need it a lot sooner than you think. At least you don’t have far to go. At least go there once a week to make sure everything is OK and go ahead and move some supplies there if you can secure them well enough. When I made my move I had to go 270 miles and that’s not a short trip. There’s nothing left for me in the city. I’ve been wanting to make this move for the past 3 years. Well, let’s just say that someone gave me the right reasons to go ahead and throw in the towel so I loaded up what I had left in the Dodge and took off. I still have another truckload of stuff left to get but I’ll get that later. For now I’m just having some time off before I go to work in one of the family businesses starting in October. I need a nice long break from all of the BS. Now I’m where I really belong and with all of my supplies. I’ve been at the BOL for a week and haven’t even left the cabin for any reason I feel like a whole new man.

      15. Careful now you’re talking about the rights beloved Leo here now. Don’t want to sound too much against LEO now do you?
But it’s LEO in you’re from my cold dead hands you will shoot if you do so.
Case point: Guy in a red flag stated have already been killed by that law. And it was LEO who did it.
People don’t get it when they say cold dead hands, they think it will be the govt or some other agency when making that comment but it’s their beloved Leo who will and do enforce those laws. Remember LEO killed Lavoy and it will be LEO who kills us when and if we have enough guts to stand.
The only hope for it to actually escalate is for one to survive then go to neighbors trying to recruit, but my fears are they will slam the door on your face.
Then you’ll be on the news and LEO Loving right won’t care or know.

      16. reading about Monsanto and how they have fusion centers for surveillance… they are staffed by former CIA…
