After our socio-fascist government implemented all of Germany’s directives, the Greek people have come to an absolute desperation and poverty.
What is also outrageous is the fact that are own government has passed the message to the global banksters and other nations that Greek people are
lazy and incapable.Today, after two years of screwing and pressing us, most households and businesses have stopped paying. Stopped paying taxes, utility bills, toll fees, or anything else related to the government.
Two hours ago, this same government announced a new property tax (added to the 2 previous ones). This one will be calculated on every and each household, business, cottage, or even a barn for animals. It will be 4 euros per square meter calculated immediately, to be paid by this December the latest.
Once again let me tell you that we are not a lazy nation or useless people.
This has to do with some 4% of the working force, and all of them public servants who were hired by each government in order to gain votes for its next election campaign. So what’s actually happening is the same person who hired those people, now tries to persuade the rest of the nation that they are incapable.
The steps were very wisely thought out and implemented by the globalists.
- They made fools out of us
- They turned one against the other.
- They decreased salaries and wages.
- They increased prices of necessary goods.
- They put us into poverty.
- Now they demonize property by implementing more and more taxes
- The next steps are to force us sell our properties to German and Chinese companies, and create jobs in German and Chinese factories for the thousands of hungry.

I agree with you Rich. All I have to say is that the US dollar is the WORLD RESERVE CURRENCY. I’m also sick and tired of hearing how the EU will collapse starting with Greece. They have been saying this for years now and still manage to keep everything afloat and running. The US will continue on for probably another 4 to 8 years. Its going to be a very slow and very painful collapse for the US, death by a thousand cuts.
I wonder if Manos can back up his claim that “most” are not paying anything to the government now? That seems hyperbolic to me. I can see most anarchist, libertarians and the like wanting to do that, but few willing to risk going to prison in doing so.
And while I can see we are headed in the wrong direction in the USA our currency is still the worlds currency. Only when that ends are we headed in the “Greek, English, Argentinian” way. That is some time off – I was thinking Thanksgiving of 2011 if Assad wanted to make it happen by forcing an OPEC vote to drop the dollar on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and then having some of his elite troops hit Mexico and Canadian pipelines….then STHF on Monday.

American currency is NOT the world’s currency any longer. Many merchants in other countries no longer accept the American dollars they used to covet before. Many of the businesses in border towns here in Canada have signs up saying do not accept American money at this time.

Well OPEC takes the dollar. The majority of nations on the planet – including some that hate us – keep the dollar as their reserve currency. So are we to assume its not the world currency when a shop keeper on a border town stops taking it – or perhaps when nations stop banking it as their reserve currency? Hmmmm?
I’m sorry to be so sarcastic, but the relevance is important is it not? When OPEC stops taking dollars, when China/Russia/Brazil and a few others stop buying US dollars/bonds…..then I see the hand writing coming to SHTF…..those things are NOT happening right now.
Daisy: Historically, the percentage of trade in the world that is exchanged in dollars has fluctuated between 55-70%. As I remember, it is around 60% now, down a bit in the last few years. Nothing Americans need to get concerned about with all those dollars Uncle Ben has printed. They will be used. Many nations covert OUR dollar.
Overall, the percentage of trade in dollars compared to other currencies is probably considerable; kind of like the level of gold WE have compared to any other individual nation.
If you get concerned, buy the Chinese (RMB) yuan. Its appreciating at about 5% a year, just don’t take them down to China Mart and expect to get very far with them.
The clerk would not know what to do.
As for not taking US Dollars, guess what? Merchants here in America generally won’t take Canadian or any other currency either.

It’s completely understandable that other countries won’t accept pesos or rupees or what-have-you. I suppose my comment is directed towards the lack of faith had in the American dollar, where people used to salivate over the possibility. It’s considered a losing proposition these days. If not losing, then at the very least, risky.

You are NOT permitted to know exactly why you were put on it, nor can you challange it once you are placed on it. To address Rich’s dilusional belief that everything is fine now and will contiue to be so, I’d like to take his expectation and modify it slightly. Its not a question of “if”,…but “when”.
Basically he thinks that everything will not get much worse anytime soon.
The realty is, it is a 100% certainty that all the western cultures are at the end of their ropes.
What Rich doesn’t seem to understand is that financial systems (like most systems) are non-linear.

Fact: Never in human history have so many people been alive on this planet, Never before in human history have so many countries been so indebted, ESPECIALLY the US & Europe. It is ABSOLUTELY impossible to pay off ANY of these debts. All the financial systems across the world are at their “tipping point”.
The fact our financial system DIDN’T implode this summer doesn’t mean “they” miracalously fixed them or that its not coming, it just means you have a little more time to prepare,…that is a gift.
The trick is to figure out what the real warning signs will look like as the system is entering its Late-Polapse Phase (happening right now, but started in 2007), and then is slipping into its Collapse Phase (which could be this Oct/Nov).
The problem: The reaction time you may have avaialble to yourself to make suitable preparations as you go from the Late-Prolapse to Collapse Phase maybe only weeks, days, even just hours!
There is no way to accurately define how long the Prolapse Phase will be, when the Collapse Phase will start, or how quickly either phase will deteriorate.
There really is no precedent for this, so therefore, we have no previous model to guide expectations.
This is where you just have to pay attention to the news, especially underground news sources so you can get a more accurate picture of whats ging on around the world.

Regarding the chain of events, described in a prophetic word (see below), that is attributed to David Wilkerson to the awaited economic collapse, Greece is a much better fit for the start of the chain reaction then Kuwait or Iceland was:

Greece is a good fit for three reasons:

We’d like to teach you a song about God’s protection. It goes like this.:

Very few are physically prepared. What’s happening in Greece is truly a “wake up call” to the world.
I looked up the population of Greece, 11,262,000. America, 305,006,000.
Who ever is running this scam had better have a real good plan. Their going to have a big problem like about a 305m problem. I without a doubt I know that the resourcefulness and fortitude of this many Americans we will get on top of this no matter what they do.
It looks like if they get this thing running it will end up as a conflict of attrition. Here again they loose. Except for a couple of horrifying scenarios and I wouldn’t put it past them. I feel; they will be willing to sacrifice as many people/Americans as it takes to get what they are after. If we don’t get Obama out of here and straighten up a bunch of bad acts in this country, we are going to have many years of bad time. If we are going to lay around like a bunch of lumps bathed in Normalcy Bias, we are going to take some licks.
Just remember 50 million of those Americans are already unemployed. 45 Million(and growing) are on food stamps. While the focus is on Greece, do not look past Belgium, Spain, and Italy. The EU is collapsing under the weight of Socialism and massive unemployment. You cannot change or ignore the facts. With the ACTUAL US debt closer to $80 Trillion, we are not that far behind the EU. The math is simple Debt $80 Trillion / GDP $15 Trillion = 5 years of every dollar made in the US to pay off the debt. We would be a Nation of paupers!

Jobs are hard to find and that is what unemployment is for and that is what savings accounts are for and that is what families are for (to help each other in times of need). Welfare is a whole different can of worms. They are the “gimme dat” group I speak of. They don’t plan & they do not take personal responsibility for their own actions.
It’s not my job to pay for someone else’s kids or desire to not work. If you can’t feed ’em, then don’t breed ’em is what I say. I waited years to have mine – until I was sure I could support them. Personal Responsibility is sorely missing in the USA.

Don’t worry Dboy they start with soaking the rich first and then they’ll get to your property taxes. Added benefit in the horrible decline in value is that property taxes usually are based on value in this country not size like in Greece. My property tax bill is half what it use to be now, and that means more preps.
Also in the plight you describe silver will do quite well and is still quite affordable. With that property tax bill buy a few ounces each year, tuck away, and in the future they could well pay your property taxes.
Greece has way too many public employees. They’re all overpaid and underworked. Greeks have a sense of entitlement that’s become all too common in the Western world. Everybody wants everything to be free. A typical example of Greek mismanagement is the fact that the tolls collected for the national train service don’t even cover the labor costs associated with running it. People who work for the electric company are government employees too. People who work for at least 35 years can retire at 60. It’s insane.

I don’t see taxes rising anytime soon, it would collapse what little economy they have.
About the only thing I can see is a reduction in the freebies handed out to the parasitic class, or an inflation that does the same thing.

Rising property taxes are the main reason we purchased a small 6-room fixer-upper 20 years ago for under $40,000 and did the renovating and repairs ourselves (friend who is electrician did re-wiring). Same for buying used cars – taxes too high on new ones.
State and municipal governments, water districts, etc. may attempt tax increases however this will not result in any increased revenue. The only thing I can see happening would be a widening of the divide between public employees / welfare recipients and whatever taxpayers may be left.
I have given up on any rational discussion with public employees / leftists / union members. Point out that any increase in corporate taxation will simply be added to the cost of the product or service that the corporation provides and that the consumer of such product or service will, ultimately, end up paying the tax and said leftist will stick fingers in ears and scream la la la I can’t hear you. On the other hand try explaining that absolute laissez faire, unrestrained capitalism, while an excellent method of mutually beneficial trade for moral folks, at it’s logical outcome is susceptible to the same greed and corruption that James Johnson used to destroy Fannie Mae and screw the taxpayers.
The present system in the US is NOT sustainable. Until the day arrives that people can put aside their emotional investment in their ideology and calmly review the empirical evidence to ascertain how to best use true, free market capitalism in one’s self interest while simultaneously finding some power other than a tyrannical government to restrain the greed and corruption that we see today in the GBs we are going to have to deal with what we have.
I believe our current system is only suitable for a religious and moral people. Unfortunately America has tolerated and embraced a non-stop assault on the moral foundations that were the bedrock of our founding.

I live in Florida and we have a state constitutional amendment that limits prop tax on your primary home to 3% per year!
That way the bureaucrats cannot just F*** us anytime they run low on their pensions for the teachers & firemen that we’re supposed to worship as national heroes.

I served in the Persian Gulf War.
I only took the Red Pill myself a year ago, and it has been one hell of a rude awakening!
I would have laughed at anyone who said the US Gov’t did 9/11 2 years ago, but then while over a friends house I saw Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura (Ex-SEAL), it was about the Pentagon on 9/11.
Most of the show was fluff, sensationalism, cloak & dagger nonsense, but there was a couple of things he showed that I said, “Ok, now we have a problem”, either Uneversal Physical Law has been altered, or someone is lying about 9/11.
My background: 6 yrs USMC, specialty: Missles Systems and Aircraft (graduated at top of class), High Markmanship Expert (recommended for sniper school), 3 degress in Engineering, former VP of Engineering for a Aerospace Company.
Once I had seen that physical impossibility shown on Venturas show, I then spend the next several months digging through forensics, reading the 9/11 Commission Report, The Penatgon Building Perfformance Report, etc, etc, etc.
The difficulty was not in recognizing what a load of crap the gov’ts story was, the real problem was in over coming the emotional resistance to accepting the truth.
After several sleepness nights, and many more hours of reviewing the hard evidence, it all became crystal clear that 9/11 was committed by our own gov’t.
After studying the birth of our financial system (Secrets of the Fed, The Creature From Jekyll Island, etc), I came to find the “money trail”.
Stealth, you and I have come home, but it is not the home we were brought up to believe in.
After taking the Red Pill and learning about all the deceit, lies, treason, and corruption that truly is the US Federal Government, it feels like the life we had before combat was a pure fantasy, and combat is the only reality,… and now, our gov’t trying to enslave us is the new reality.
We’ll adjust brother. Now we’re fully awake and armed with the knowlege about what is really happening.
We know what has to be done, we just need a way to unify.

Someone said Greece had too many government employees. I saw a chart the other day, state, local and federal government spending in the US is 50% of the GDP. That would suggest that we are in worse shape than the Greeks. In the US we have real unemployment around 20%, the banks are permitted to fake their books, the states are nearly insolvent (already insolvent?), the national debt is beyond paying off, the government is out of control. This is it. It may not look like a disaster movie yet, but give it a little more time. Nothing is real, there’s nothing to get hung about, strawberry fields forever. Farm out! Right arm!

My father warned me as a child about the banks. He, being a young man during the Great Depression, knew firsthand of the joblessness, starvation, aggressive looters – he told me several times of a story where 6 guys got out of their car at the end of the driveway, with guns. It was only a stroke of luck that the men (NINE families lived under one roof)weren’t out looking for work that day, and how when 8 men stood across the porch with guns, the thugs got back in their car and left.
He also told me of how the younger boys were the night watchmen and their job was to stay alert and to (he always emphasised this) “sound convincingly” like a lot og dogs…to scare away THEIR NEIGHBORS and others passing through to stop them from stealing the siding off the barn TO HEAT THEIR HOMES.
Can I say we alive today have no reference to those kinds of conditions.

Scott – thanks for the post. Hubby’s parents were city folks, as were mine, so did not experience the horrors that your father did. Must have been a frightening time for a young boy. An elderly friend of mine lived by a train track in rural W.Va. during the 1930s. She remembers seeing hobos jumping off the freights and knocking on her door during the day when her father was at work. Her mother would tell the men to go sit at the edge of the porch, then would put sandwiches outside the door. When she had come back in and locked the screen door behind her, she would tell them to come get the sandwiches. My friend said the hobos were never abusive or violent, just hungry, and always offered thanks for the food. Can’t imagine this scenario today…

So my point would be that we are in the final stages of the, as you so aptly pointed out, collapse of nations. All my cars and 9 others on my street we broken into a week ago. I talked to the deputy and he told me the number was 27 for my whole neighborhood. Just a sign of the times.

Same thing in this area. Anywhere near the city kids just break into cars and take anything. Its happened so much lately that the news doesn’t even report it. In the last year, a good friend of mine has been broken into 3 times (house, not car) in BROAD DAYLIGHT and all her “carriables”, electronics, jewelry, musical instruments, tools, anything of value, GONE. And the cops won’t do anything about it.
Fortunately, I live out in the “boonies”, unlike my friend who lives in town. It will be a while before they get to me. I just hope they wait until after the fall rains. Digging a place to bury the bodies is hard even with the backhoe when its so dry.

I really don’t think it will be a shtf scenario. I do think it will be very similar to the Depression minus the government handouts. It will be hard but not seriously violent.

Yes. My father lived through the depression in Eastern Europe. Does not speak of it much, but has said “You do not know what people will do when they go hungry”. I take away from that statement that there will be some good, there will be some indifference, and there will be some bad.

I didn’t even bother mentioning any of the MANY catastrophies that have been occuring, or the explosion in basic food commodity prices, so I’m glad you at least made a note of a few of them.
The one item I should have mentioned and didn’t, because according to people like “Rich”, it will be “alright”,, so no need to worry, but the following is a sobering number.
There are now over 24 MILLION unemployed in this country (not counting the drop-in-the-bucket 30,000 that BOA just annouced it is going to layoff).
Even if you could devise a jobs creation program that generated REAL jobs (NOT more Federal or State gov’t jobs since in the end, the tax payers really pay for those jobs). Real jobs of say 100,000 new jobs a month, EVERY MONTH, NON STOP, it would still take 240 months just to put the current unemployed back to work. THATS 20 YEARS OF UNINTERRUPTED JOBS CREATION JUST TO GET PEOPLE WORKING AGAIN.
Problem: What about that class of uncounted job seekers, all the college graduates that will be coming into the job market during that 20 years, and all the people who decide to go straight from high school into the job market, and it is certianly not counting all the people who where just about to retire, or where retired and had to come BACK into the job market because the gov’t has successfully wiped out their retirement savings or taxed them back into poverty.
Even if you double that figure, lets say this Fuk’n genius Ocrapa gets a blinding insight of brilliance and comes up with a plan that can generate 200,000 new, REAL jobs (NOT gov’t jobs) per month, every month, uninterrupted. It would still take over 10 YEARS just to put the current unemployed back to work.
The same class of uncounted people still applies.
In other words, AIN”T GONNA HAPPEN.
If anyone has done the Federal/State Debt Calculations, the Jobs Replacement Calculations, or the International Funds Flow calcualtions, you would see that it is mathematically impossible for this country to do anything but suffer a massive depression, the likes of which we had not fathomed was possible.
It is a 100% Mahematical Certainty that this country is going to collapse both Financially and Economically. Its just a question of how long can the keep stalling the inevitable. Answer: For as long as possible, thats the only option they have left.

US Marines; There are a few in denial, on this site. What they are overlooking is the fact that most people that are in power, can’t change courses or be reasoned with. They become like unreasoning animals, acting on instincts (paraphrasing the book of Jude). This present government doesn’t play by the rules (constitution). Yet eveything they do (911-Patriot Act-Job Stimulus and so on) is an indication of where they want to lead this country. History is more relevant to those of us that can learn from it and see the repetitiveness of it.
Signs to look for, concerning the collapse, are the bank holidays and especially the government trying to gain access to credit unions. The credit unions (state, city, county, military, and government employees) haven’t needed bailouts. More retirement money and savings have been (for the time being) safer in credit unions than non-credit union banking. Next time you all go to your credit unions, look at the deposited assets, normally placed in plain sight for all members. We are talking, collectively, trillions in assets to enclude safety deposit boxes.
With all the federal regulations, and the 5,000 more that Obama is trying to pass, you’d be foolish not to think there won’t be a collapse.
Just keep in mind, the socialist have to have control of the money/wealth, without it they are defeated. They don’t contribute to society via trades, they are parasites. Without a host (finacial control) they will die.
And to think they make ethanol out of corn and tons of h20 to produce, mouths could be fed, but no someone has profit in mind!
JJ: Most ranchers I know have ranches in several states, so they move operations from Texas to New Mexico, to Arizona to Colorado to Montana, etc, to compensate for drought anyway. Arizona is not in a drought.
If smaller local ranchers are slaughtering their stock, back up the truck when prices fall in your area and stash it in your freezer.
Eventually prices will go back up.

I think you are failing to understand the depth of the drought here. I live in a part of Texas where farmers are selling out completely and will never buy back in. The cattle herd is at its lowest level in our lifetimes. This is going to be ugly here if it doesn’t rain soon. My family is holding out til the bitter end as are alot of folks, but that will only last another month or so.
Cattle auctions are over loaded and its not going to get any better. Add to that the fact that prices still haven’t fallen out the bottom yet, and if anyone thinks beef is going to go up – way up – in 12-14 months, I have a bridge to sell you.
Add to the fact that feedstock for the feed lots (ie grains etc) are in the tank crop wise, the cost to feed those calves in the feed lots is up.
And next year…. when the calf crop is 1/3 to 1/2 here?
And what about the feed and fertilizer suppliers?
Don’t underestimate the damage. Especially when you add in the fact that the last time this happened here (the 50’s) banks could keep ranchers and cattlemen afloat without the FDIC in their business. Not now.
Maybe you know ranchers that move them to all these states. I know feed lot owners, cattle auction owners, farmers, ranchers etc in several different areas of Texas, and not one of them can move their operation to another state.
Finally, the overlooked part – dairy farmers.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride. We will survive, but it will be rough because too many in our nation think the government owes them everything.

Beef prices will drop with the slaughter of the herds. Beef prices will rise when there is a shortage of beef from the slaughter of the herds, because there a fewer cows having calfs. Thats supply and demand. Eventually the markets will swing back and forth and seek equilibrium.

JJ: I am not a cattle expert but have been told by ranchers I know, who are experts, that Texas is over grazed. Has been for years. Rather than using FEED LOTS to grow and fatten cattle, maybe Texas Ranchers need to adopt a “greener” approach to cattle raising.
Maybe its a good wake up call for ranchers.
Weather patterns are changing and will continue to change. Texas cattle ranchers should sell their herds, cut their losses, move their operations north, and lease suitable land.

I am beginning to agree. I have been watching for two years, prepping, waiting, giving myself an ulcer and it seems to be the same thing. The “This is it” alert gos out just enough to keep my nerves frayed. I think it is a good idea to keep an eye out for what is coming, (which is why I read this and other sites) but I don’t think my health can take all this sky is falling stuff much longer. Looking back at articles, it has been the beginning of the end since the beginning.
I like you got caught up in the chicken little scare in y2k and then again for about a year after the 08 crash. Since then I have re-evaluated the threat and realize that most of the people posting are very concerned. The problem is this is a self perpetuating mindset. FYI for the super marine posting like a small scared child, I served in desert storm/desert shied. I have 12 years as a 13 fox. I probably have a set 3x as big as his, but I don’t need to prove it. I have come full circle and realize life is short and I no longer wish to spend my time dwelling on things that we have little or no control over…..so I will just enjoy my family and friends and be at peace…come what may.

Sure, a soft landing into the next rip-off system is possible, (ie. Bretton Woods II, World Currency, etc.) but it is still good to be prepared for collapse. Being prepared makes it easier to enjoy life, not more difficult!

Vision of New York City Bombed by 10 Russian Nuclear Missiles
Around 1986 God took me up into the heavens and I found myself flying like superman through the air. I was in the clouds and the cover was so thick that I could not see my hands in front of my face. I couldn’t understand why I was flying through the air. As I dropped in altitude and started to get below the clouds, I began looking to my left and to my right. As I was looking, I saw five nuclear missiles, long range intercontinental ballistic missiles to my right and to my left. A total of ten missiles! Each one carried multiple warheads with the red Communist star on the fuselage of the missiles. The five pointed red star is the universal representative symbol for Communism. The star that I saw on the missiles looked like the second red star below. At the time of this vision Russia had a red star on their flag which is the first picture below. I feel in my spirit that these will be Russian missiles.
As I looked down to the ground I saw Staten Island, Manhattan Island and New York City. I could not believe that these missiles were getting ready to hit New York with such a magnitude. They were coming right down onto the state of New York. The next thing I knew, I was standing down on the ground looking at all of the devastation. All the buildings were totally annihilated. The big skyscrapers had fallen over as though a domino effect had happened when they were blown up. When they started falling, these skyscrapers fell one against another knocking each other down. There were dead bodies lying everywhere. Tens of thousands were dead and the air smelled of rotting, burning flesh. Not only did the air smell foul but as I looked everything was dark even though it was midday. I could not believe my eyes!
I then sensed time had passed, weeks and months. God then let me see little children taking instruments like butter knives and scraping the corpses of the people that had died. The children were looking for food by scraping the flesh off the people’s bodies only to cause their own death later of radiation poisoning. The devastation was beyond anything of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The death and the disease that broke out after was beyond imagination. I could not believe what I was seeing. I was overwhelmed and sickened by the devastation. I asked God why He showed me this? He said He is going to judge the United States and He’s going to judge it hard. He said that the enemies of the United States are going to attack.
After having this life-like vision of what is coming, it was quickened to me later that Chicago and a lot of other big cities are also going to take a hit. From what I’m receiving right now, this is going to be worse than anything this nation could ever imagine. The American people will not believe what is happening to them. God is going to execute His judgment on this nation and He is going to pay America back double for the sins that have reached into Heaven.

Hey Damon, Nicole Nordman has a great song. It is about two people, one is a christian, the other isnt. She says yeah, you could be right, there might not be a God. However, what am I hurting by believing. I feel it makes me a better person, more forgiving and caring. Now lets say that I am right and you are wrong. There is a judgement day and we go to the places that the bible says we will. Think on that for a bit my friend.

We had a kidnapping in our little suburb of Chicago about 2 hours ago. Domestic related. From the section 8 apartments. They are re-gentrifying Chicago, so they send all the problem people to the suburbs for us to enjoy. He also stole the getaway car. Probably end up a hostage situation somewhere. When’s that balloon going up? I can’t wait.
Section 8 housing has been scattered around our state like buckshot too. Crime is no longer mostly concentrated in one area – now it is spread all over the place. Developers who want to put condos, housing or apartments in are forced by the govt to “set aside” a certain percentage for Section 8.
Home landlords who want to make a quick & guaranteed buck are renting their houses to the govt for section 8 housing (only to find that in most cases it is totally destroyed when the tenant moves out so their quick buck turns into a nightmare repair)
Just wait until obama finds a “use” for the foreclosed homes. Who do you think he will “rent” them to? If you answered Section 8 then ding ding ding! You guessed correctly.

It’s happening all over our state. It could be controlled by the cities but it is not only in one city doing it – it is in all of them. I don’t like it, thats for sure.
I live in a fairly “uppity” neighborhood.. the 6 bedroom, 4000 or so sq ft house on 1.25 acres right behind me has been rented section 8 for the last year.
The family just moved out and the owner intends to continue in the section 8 program. Her reason is that she knows that she will always get her rent.. she couldn’t afford to keep the house as her primary residence.
I am seeing the section 8 effect as well. It used to be called “scatter site”. The obvious intent is to scatter the leeches so they don;t drag one area down. The effect is to drag many areas down, only not to such an obvious degree.
This is always carried out by people who absolutely do not want any section 8 housing near their own home.
We live in the only state without concealed carry. However, some folks know how to carry w/o the paperwork. Old folks don’t get searched for no reason.
Do you smell that? The change in seasons is coming. It’s been taking a rest to make another run. Who wants to keep up. It doesn’t do anything but just sit there.

For someone new to prepping building a Bug Out Bag can seem like a big task. Everybody you read about has been tweaking theirs for months or even years and has a pile of gear built up. It’s hard to know where to start, but if you cover just all of the basics in a survival situation you will still be much better off that 99% of the people.
We started with one of the kits (Expedition Extreme) from http://www.shelfreliancesanantonio.com/jmp/jmp_emergency_kits.php) and added copies of important papers, extra clothing and an emergency radio too. It takes only a few minutes to pick out a kit that works for your family and have it shipped to you, instead of driving all over town trying to find all the items you need for a good bug out bag. Then spend a day reviewing the contents and adding your extras. Put it in the hallway closed by the door and it’s ready whenever you need it. Total time spent probably 2 hours = Lifetime of Peace of Mind!

Reading the comments posted here, I see we have a failure to communicate. Perhaps I can help. Perhaps not. There are varying levels of collapse. It seems we disagree on the level to which society will sink and for how long. Will the currency collapse or just continue to decline in value? Will we be hit with more inflation or deflation or a combination of both? Will the government lose the ability to govern or become bigger? Will society breakdown or continue to stumble along? Wether you’re right or not, time will tell. It all depends on your level of objectivity, your powers of observation and intellect. And when it’s all said and done, it’s still just your opinion. I like to question people when they make statements I don’t believe in. For example Manos here suggested most families are not paying Greece their taxes and I find that unbelievable? Most is representative of 12 million people. Maybe he should have written ” many” and I would not raise the question. I find his plight difficult and hope only for the best to him and his family.

It could, but I will argue it has not yet. ” Routine” was the wrong word. I have a niece in the FBI. I worked in federal LE, and I have friends there now. So many folks here hate our government so much they forget those in govt are people too. I never did a search without cause, and homes get even more protection. Those hating on BATF, FBI, DOJ et al might be surprised to know many are constitutionalist and the next Paul Revere will likely be a govt type sounding the alarm. I know these agencies do not routinely enter our homes with out warrants.
1. 500.000 utility bills unpaid for the year 2011, of the amount of 423 million euros. Not counting the previous’ years bills.
2. 1.000.000 cars with unpaid insurance, more or less around 1 billion euros, for 2011 only.
3. The same car owners haven’t paid the annual state fees for the car, which is another 350 million euros.
4. 35% of the drivers don’t pay toll, from the ones who pass through the tolls. Because around 20% of total drivers seek alternative routes in order not to pay the toll fees.
5. 30 billion euros from unpaid taxes from around 7.000 businesses. If you take in mind that most of these businesses closed down there is no way that money will ever be collected. Moreover, by closing down, these businesses fired all their personnel without any compensation at all, which means that all those people cannot pay their bills.
There are more and more people who cannot pay anymore.
For example, restaurant owners and taxi drivers are on strike these days, and they just don’t pay taxes.
We are not bad people, or we don’t want to avoid taxation.
But what Greece is living the last two years, is taxation big as a cucumber in the b….
An we have a saying here in Greece, that if you close the cat’s exit, it will jump and take off your eyes.

After reading through the thread involving the Marines DHS might be right about veterans being a real domestic terrorist threat. I’ve never read so much bitter stuff from a bunch of PO’d people. Welcome aboard! Can we work together to stop the overthrow of the government?
What depression? Im sitting in Panama City as the OG’s say “stackin’ ends”, but no, I’m not “servin’ fiends”, (unless electricity counts).
Lots of folks still have jobs, and the money has never stopped flowing, except from any equity profits(and even those have kept coming for many). However, that is really just one part of the situation. The real question is the fate of the current currency/financial system. I know people who are making the most money they’ve ever made. At the same time, I know lots of folks (me included in both groups) who have been through a good bit of uncertainty as to where there next dollar is coming from.
The guys I know who are actually making money right now are working overseas, where the real money is to be made (developing the world’s resources: oil/gas, minerals, electrical generation, etc…) Not to mention the Federal gov’t can’t rob you for social sec., medicare/caid, income taxes (up to $97,000/yr income tax free). Who you know matters more than ever, and lots of times that doesn’t even guarantee anything. What you know also matters believe it or not. Those not afraid to wallow through third-world shitholes to apply their life’s skills will likely find opportunity if he looks. These countries can be rough for most westerner’s who are so sheltered, and effeminate, that the locals recognize their softness at first glance (and joke about it). Lots of expats get mugged, raped, killed, and maybe even fed to the crabs, or some maggots(or locals). However, some of the locals get killed as well(the house loses a lot actually:I know this as a fact), and luckily the ‘law enforcement’ doesn’t always waste time investigating what to them are simply matters of everyday life. So yes, most (def. not all) westerners have been so conditioned, sheltered, and safe, that they tremble with fear at even the smallest sign of ‘trouble’. And then when real danger is presented to them, without any government to protect them, naked in the big mean ass world, they are devoured whole.
Back to where I started though, there a way to make a living out there. Life is still much easier than it ever was during say the days of America’s wild west/Australia’s equivalent/SouthAmerica’s equivalent. Life has always been hard. Get used to it. If you really ‘tune in, turn on, and drop out’ you will find youself amused by the endless chatter among some on this site (not all). The world ends every second for someone. So get used to it. Is a major hyperinflationary depression/collapse coming? Maybe, and if so get ready. Use your emotions to your advantage. Don’t cuddle up in the fetal position and suck on an MRE.

I dont truly believe there will be a domino effect leading to the US. The socio fascists lead by Obama will not prevail in the next election. The only way they can complete their mission of destruction is to declare an emergency and try to take over the Country before the 2012 election. That will result in a massive civil war which the military here wont support. The military will instead support the Constitution and will arrest the administration who will be tried for treason at that point. This will also lead to a backlash against illegals and Islamists who will be forcibly ejected from the Country. The newly elected administration will fire every Democrat appointee and replace them with Constitutionalists. Every law passed since before 1960 will be reviewed for Constitutionality and nullified if not Constitutional in the strict sense. A takeover attempt by socio-fascists could be the best possible thing for restoring the Republic.
Try every law since 1913!! “They” have been in power since then. “take over attempt”???? “restoring the republic” is a take over attempt! We have not been a real republic for many years. If we were a republic, “law makers” would be representatives, “law inforcement” would be keepers of the peace, “officials” would be public servants!! I see parallels between Greece and USA.
I’m sure not all Greeks (Americans) are lazy, but the current government has encouraged laziness and feeding at the public tit. Can people really be blamed for stealing what they are encouraged to steal?
The next several years will be quite painful for Greeks (and Americans), especially those who have for decades fed at the public trough (they will think they have died and went to hell). Probably a noticeable culling of the herd, maybe not masses of bodies in the street, but things like the obese dying earlier than they would with all the life-sustaining assistance available today (ambulances whenever called, power chairs, etc).
Other Greeks (and Americans) will adapt and even prosper.
It amazes me how long we’ve been talking about these problems and not doing a damn thing about them. What does that say about “we the people”.

At least let me give you a general idea, keeping in mind this is being broadcast to the world, and that Big brother is watching and listening to EVERYTHING we do.

The real starting point is to apply Systems Theory and analysis as to what are the Operative Principles that the system is really based on.
NOT what people think it is, or what they want us to think it is, but understand how the system actually operates (I have spent a considerable amount of time on this).
Then we apply Sun Tzu’s priciples of Go.
The “solution” is actually the tactics that will be derived from the Strategy that identified the desired outcome and knowing the “Control points” in the system we wish to “turn off”.
Here is a basic fact:
The US Federal Gov’t is now COMPLETELY corrupt and rotten to the core. This corruption is so incredibly pervasive, that it is now incorporated into virtually all the policys that drive legislative actions & directives.
This gov’t is so broken, so distorted, so dysfunctional, that it is absolutely impossible to initiate any form of corrective actions that could remotely bring it back to something,…anything resembling its Constitutional Base.
This is a critical observation to make and understand, because most people are not willing to accept this realty (cognative dissonance).
Most people are still thinking that somehow this gov’t can be “fixed” without fully comprehending what the hell that really means. Thats why the gov’t keeps getting worse, and why people are still believing repair is possible. Their initial presumptions are wrong,…so every thought on the subject after that is guaranteed wrong.
The solution is actually surprising simple, although difficult to implement (NOT impossible, just difficult), but it is the far better alternative to roll up our sleeves and do some work, then to become perpetual surfs and supplicants by doing nothing.
Allow me to state here, especially publicly, this does NOT mean insurrection, or violent confrontation. This calls for the Sun Tzu doctrine of Victory By OutSmarting the opposition.
Anyone who thinks that violent confrontation is the route, is simply signing their own death warrant.
This doesn’t mean that the existing gov’t won’t go away without a fight, it is absolutely willing to sacrifice as many innocent lives as it takes to stay in power,.. but they do have an Achilles Heel which nobody seems to have recognized,…at least publicly.

Manos doesn’t understand that he and his countrymen have lived way beyond their means for many years now and now the bill is coming due. That bill includes a much lower standard of living. We in the states have also lived beyond our means, but not to the extent that the Greeks have.
People shouldn’t take too much comfort in the dollar being the reserve currency or that simply firing up the printing presses will solve our problems. I read a missive by a long time investment letter writer in which he stated that a dollar collapse could come suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere. People make the mistake of thinking that they will see this coming and have months to prepare for such an event. He contends that given the right circumstances it could all be over with in a couple of weeks.
Imagine going to the grocery store and having to spend a $1000 or even $2000 on a weeks worth of groceries and that’s even assuming that there would be anything on the shelves to purchase. Most people’s savings would be wiped out quickly. People would literally be starving on the streets.
Its exactly what happened to the Germans in the 1920’s. The government thought they could merely print up money out of thin air and pay off their war debt. It destroyed the country and there was a complete societal breakdown. People were eating bread laced with sawdust to fill their stomachs and still starving to death because humans can’t digest wood. People were cutting up their furniture to burn in stoves and fireplaces to keep from freezing to death in the winter.
So, don’t be too sanguine about the government’s use of the printing press to paper over everything. The result could be just as treacherous as a deflationary collapse.
