What exactly is President Obama doing and why all the delays? Is he looking for a way out, in essence telling the Syrians and Russians we are going to strike, but don’t worry, we aren’t going to go after anything important in the hopes that nothing else will come of it?
Our Commander-in-Chief has not only shown his incompetence in geo-political matters, but has, as Greg Mannarino notes in the commentary below, turned the United States into the laughing stock of the world.
All signs suggest that the President of the United States has no idea what is really going on in the world. And after Russian troops started piling off ships into Syria, and Vladimir Putin mobilized his Navy and reportedly threatened a counter-strike on Saudi Arabia, Obama may have realized that he is in way over his head, and that he has brought the world to the brink of global conflict.
Nonetheless, out of desperation and to save face, the distinct possibility of confrontation remains, and will more than likely be initiated within the next 72 hours.

Commencing the attack this morning at 1:00 am eastern would have been ideal. It was after the markets closed, television prime time news was over and most of the country was sleeping. It would have given the markets 3 full days to cope with the attack and the UN team quit yesterday a day short.
Now the clock is working against BO unless he has been using a machiavellian ploy of forecasting limited strikes and instead is preparing for a bigger, more pronounced attack. A 5th destroyer was moved in yesterday and an amphibious assault ship today.
The whole scenario is very odd and reeks of behind the scenes dealing. Nothing makes conventional sense when preparing for a military conflict. That fact alone is the most telling and worrisome.
Putin is a very smart, very dangerous man. I certainly hope Obama realizes he is at a serious personal disadvantage dealing with him.
Putin knows how to get it done and he’s not afraid that his connections to powerful people. Obama, on the other hand, does everything in his power to hide this from the public. And there is the whole ruthlessness thing. Yes, Obama is ruthless, by Western standards. However Putin is in a whole different league. Look at Chechnya and Georgia as examples.
If anything this might look as a meeting of equals and Obama might make a lot of noise, and maybe the US will have the military edge but make no mistakes, in the fact it will be Obama asking Putin how to make things right.

Here in South MS, we had an election for mayor of Hattiesburg. The vote was so close, only 20 or so votes separated the two opponents. Then, “voting irregularities” were discovered like the incumbent’s wife handling other people’s votes, and prisoners, who weren’t supposed to be voting being told “vote for ***incumbent***, and we’ll reduce your sentence”. Obama just backed out. He just said he’ll seek congressional approval before ordering and green lighting the strike. There isn’t much of a chance he’ll get that.
If BO and his cronies are concerned about fallout over this on the world markets, especially the oil market, then Saturday would be the day. You would have the rest of Saturday, then Sunday, then Labor Day to calm down everything so oil doesn’t hit $150 or $200. The darkest part of the sky would be Thursday with no moon. I think BO and his puppet controllers would be much more likely to not do it on Labor Day, too many people home to be fixated on this to go back to work the next day ready to dump their stocks. On finite resources, I’d rather use up the oil that’s in the rest of the world and save ours for future generations and for security. We need to pump out just enough of our own to keep the infrastructure intact and to balance out a cutback by a supplier but not so much as to drain us. Oil is a global commodity and any increase here will just be sold on the global market with prices set by Wall Street speculators. We the people will see no benefit outside of employment within the industry, which means the overwhelming majority will see no benefit. We are gasoline exporters and we are setting export records of gasoline. It’s one of the dirty little secretes that’s not being reported while you are paying near four dollars a gallon for gas and while our economy is hurting.
Russia attacking Saudi Arabia, I think there’s this little shrine there called Mecca. If Russia tries her best to not target Mecca, the CIA or Mossad could see to it that it is hit. You might be mistaken about a false-flag on Mecca. Russians have never had any trouble claiming their more controversial (in the West) military actions. So if they say they didn’t blow something up, it’s a safe bet they didn’t. And if they do blow up Mecca, their most likely answer if asked would be along the lines of “yep, what are you going to do about it?”
And everyone knows the Russians will have no problems punishing civilian populations in case of a reprisal strike for their actions.

Maybe before this is all over we will be, by your ” Nom Degerre” it appears your are located in one of the best regions to be at when this all goes down. Most of us like minded people may end up at this destination out of necessity if it all goes to hell . I could not think of a better place that will remain free regardless of what happens to the older eastern states. We sort of have the short stick here , I can see some of us surviving and making it out west fighting the whole way to freedom. Epic things have happened in the past and they will happen again.
What we are facing will not be easy , it will be hard , brutal , many may not survive but even a glimmer of hope is better than nothing and the will to never surrender can never be underestimated, Time works for us only us.

The military-industrial complex is winning again. Some Syrians have been gassed! Wow! As if various peoples haven’t been gassed before. Gassing began in the First World War, and has continued ever since. Iraq gassed Iran, and gassing has been used over and over again, without a war being started. Millions have died, been hung, electrocuted, poisoned, tortured, imprisoned, drowned, shot by the millions, decapitated, and in many various ways done away with, and no war started. Stalin killed 30 million, and Chairman Mao another 30 million or so, and no one went to war over that.
Who did it? It can be proven by newspaper clips in the Wall Street Journal and others, that the rebels had sarin and other gasses. No one has seen a newspaper clipping that said Assad has gas. Maybe he does, but he says the rebels did it. Who knows? For that matter, WHO CARES? I don’t, because war is downright stupid, and those who foment, them are absolutely evil, in my opinion.
America now has four destroyers stationed off the Syrian coast, and they were there long before the gassing happened. Was the war decided in advance? Is Congress going to Constitutionally declare war, or is this to be another Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, and Vietnam, none of which we won? The last war we won was World War Two. Will the dumbass Republicans vote for it, like the dumbass Democrats? Will Obama even give them a chance to vote for it? He has violated all Constitutional edicts and legalities already in hundreds of times, why stop now? I just re-read “Obama Nation,” which was written before he was elected, and I had forgotten all the left-commie- black theology – Islam – South Chicago – Saul Alinsky – Bill Ayers – Rezko ties Obama had and has today, I am certain. How could that man have ever been elected?

They want to keep Assad in office and Syria intact, with a government, regardless of how crooked it may be, as opposed to total anarchy. Syria, under Assad, can’t be more crooked than Afghanistan and Iraq. Is Iraq less violent now than before Bush invaded it? Forty Shiites died in Iraq yesterday, and it happens all the time. It’s the same old story in both Iraq and Syria. The Sunnis against the Shiites in both cases. Saddam begged Bush to inspect and prove he had no weapons of mass destruction WMDS, and none could be found. Bush invaded anyway, as well as Afghanistan Why should we get involved, and since we undoubtedly will, why be on the wrong side?

We live in a country founded by geniuses, and run by idiots, both Republican and Democrat.

I had something stupid to say but forgot what it was. I think I’ll go out and start planting my fall/winter garden. I prepared the ground over the last couple weeks, now it’s time to start planting. I’ll plant big radishes, turnips and green onions today. Carrots, beets, collards, lettuce, mustard greens and Swiss chard next week. Will plant spinach and set out Cabbage sets the following week. Next comes garlic the second week of October and Strawberries in November. Put up 18 quarts of peaches last week and will make some Jalapeno jelly tomorrow and roast a bunch of green chilies and jalapeno peppers. Roasted peppers smell and taste awesome and are great for making green chili and seasoning in general. Screw the psychopaths and their war, I’ve got too much work to do to be bogged down with their shit.
When canning peaches, use 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 5 quarts of water for the anti-browning agent (This is drinkable), instead of salt and regular vinegar. After canning the peaches, this juice is drinkable and canable. Just pour the leftover remaining syrup into it, bring it to a boil and pour into quart jars. Makes a great cold drink. Waste nothing. Keep on prepping.

The two words to most look at with all of the are the “Nabucco Pipeline”. This would provide an alternative to the Russian monopoly on natural gas to Europe. Qatar would be the southern supplier of this but runs into a problem of getting it to Turkey. Qatar can ship this through their ally Saudi Arabia and then Jordan would allow this, but then there is a road block from there, SYRIA. Qatar can’t ship it htrough Iran, and Iraq is not wanting this to go through their country for many reasons, namely economic competetion. Syria is the problem for Qatar’s natural gas getting to the pipeline “Nabucco” that would make Russian natural gas a lot cheaper, Russia loses hundreds of billions in revenue. That is worth going to global war over.
There are also natural gas deposits to the south of Turkey that again are blocked by Syria to via Turkey. No wonder Turkey is so interested in funding the collapse of Syria to western friendly allies. Syria, Iraq, and Iran are blocking the natural gas access routes to Turkey. Syria is the easiest of the three countries to get this access of natural gas to the Nabucco pipeline. Russia MUST defend Syria, not because they think highly of Assad, because their economic well being is at stake here.
Qatar has enough natural gas to easily flatten the price of gas to europe. Competetion drives prices of anything down. On top of that the natural gas deposits off of Israel also would add to the natural gas supplies to this pipeline. Syria stands in the way of creating a lot of money for the west, and stands as a barrier to Russia losing a boatload of money in the future. That is one of the major reasons Russia is willing to go to war, use nukes, and attack first strike on western powers. IF the U.S. was going to lose trillions in revenue because of a similar threat, they to would easily go to war also.

@ ScoutMotto. Radiation detector? Does it go beyond the 1 Rad, Rem capacity. Many radiation detectors on the market today become saturated beyond 1 Rad and are meant for radiation detection on the minimum scale for home safety. War time radiation detectors will go up to 500 rads or higher. It is likely that many areas could be experiencing hundreds of rads a hour or more after an attack or nuclear accident. Also those radiation detectors need to be calibrated every 4-10 years depending on how still the unit has been kept. You are so correct about keeping th gas tanks topped off. I read that it is not good for the car to let the tank go below 1/4 tank for any length of time as the fuel impurities are more concentrated then.
By the way the earthquake activity on the planet is unbelievably low, not one 5+ on the planet since late Thursday night except for the 7 pointer in the Aleutian Islands. Even that has yet to have a 5+ aftershock. Something is building again. I would say probably from New Guinea to Fiji, and Kermadec Islands to Tonga would be the most likely places. The I woould say from central Japan to just north of the Kuril Islands. Peru to northwest Chile and Panana to southern Mexico. Then I would say Iran to Greece and lastly India to Burma. These are the only areas that seem to still be showing signs of stress from the precursor quakes from the past two weeks.

I read where an off the grid person installed an oversized alternator in his pickup truck, 300 amp, he’s got it rigged as an emergency generator for charging his solar power’s battery bank. Not a bad idea for a redundant system. My home is wired for a generator back up. My boat has an oversize alternator, hmmmmm, an inverter that will except 85 amps, run two 110 lines out for a 220 system and plug that into my sub panel. I smell a DIY project.
Hey Rick, you might want to have a couple of batteries between the alternator and inverter. Inverters have a huge draw when starting things with motors etc. and who knows what will happen when the inverter needs 200 amps for a few seconds. Sounds like a cool plan just dont forget about surge draws 🙂
I’m in the process of rigging up a couple of 100 watt solar panels to a charge controller to four 6 volt batteries, to an inverter. I could use the solar system as a buffer to protect the alternator but if I went that rout then I’d have to add a few more solar panels and batteries in order to have a good enough system to handle the load. Decision decision decision, one thing will lead to another. More research.

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren’t good for the environment.
The woman apologized and explained, “We didn’t have this ‘green thing’ back in my earlier days.”
The young clerk responded, “That’s our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations.”
She was right — our generation didn’t have the ‘green thing’ in its day. Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.
But we didn’t have the “green thing” back in our day.
Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags that we reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown Paper bags as book covers for our school books. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribbling. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.
But too bad we didn’t do the “green thing” back then. We walked upstairs, because we didn’t have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn’t climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.
But she was right. We didn’t have the “green thing” in our day.
Back then, we washed the baby’s diapers because we didn’t have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts — wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.
But that young lady is right; we didn’t have the “green thing” back in our day.
Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn’t have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn’t fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn’t need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.
But she’s right; we didn’t have the “green thing” back then.
We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family’s $45,000 SUV or van, which cost what a whole house did before the “green thing.” We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn’t need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.
But isn’t it sad that the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn’t have the “green thing” back then?

So… interesting article, but… It’s worth pointing out a few things here… (just my opinion)
1. Consider that Congress doesn’t reconvene until the 9th of September, so action beforehand (zomg! in the next 72 hours!!) is extremely unlikely.
Consider that if the situation were indeed that dire, I think we could probably get folks back onto the Hill for a vote. Clearly, this is a discretionary campaign at best. So ask yourself why?
2. Deconstruct the situation. The “why” is more important than the “what”. The reason that the President chooses a path to War is very simple really. We do not have the funds to wage even a token campaign. Yet another War will push us into bankruptcy just that much more quickly. And there is the very simple answer to “Why”.
