It’s no secret that the United Nations, with assistance from members of the Executive and Legislative branches in the United States, has been actively working to reduce Americans’ accessibility to firearms. In fact, a recent job posting at the United Nations website suggests that the organization is not only working to get guns out of the hands of American citizens, they are actively preparing personnel to assist in what they call “disarmament, demobilization and reintegration” activities. And if that’s not bad enough, the duty station for this key U.N. Peacekeeping Operations department is New York city, suggesting that the organization believes such operations may be commencing in the United States at some point in the future.

Ambassador Faith Whittlesey, a U.S. delegate to the UN Small Arms Conference, warned in 2012 that the organization’s intention is to eventually disarm all Americans in the name of peace.
“In New York, right here on our own shores, we’ve got a Trojan horse. They won’t accept U.S. firearms policy. They want to take the decision away from the U.S. electorate and undermine our Constitution.”
It would seem that the heavy militarization of domestic law enforcement agencies coupled with ‘Doomsday’ legislative actions and Executive Orders designed to seize Americans’ resources and firearms in the event of a declared emergency may be synchronized with the involvement of foreign troops and officials. In fact, a press release from The Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense and Emergencies confirmed in 2013 that America’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be coordinate with foreign militaries and security teams during disaster operations on U.S.-soil:

Has to be ratified in the Senate. Even if they(Senate) do it does not change the Constitution, in particular the 2nd Amendment. All treaties must pass the smell test of the Constitution and treaties can not change it.
The problem with that, is the Executive branch now enforces what laws it pleases, and ignores others. It’s no longer about “what is legal” or what is “constitutional.”

Article six says the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. But also, as you state, it would appear that any ratified treaty could supercede the established law of the land – but any such treaty also must meet the test of constitutionality.
I believe that any treaty, even though ratified by the Senate would surely be contested to the Supreme Court and I believe that any portion of such a treaty which tries to nullify the Second Amendment would, at least in that part, be found unconstitutional.

“As temperatures rise, toward the end of the century, less than an hour of activity outdoors in the shade could cause a moderately fit individual to suffer heat stroke,” said climatologist Robert Kopp of Rutgers University, lead scientific author of the report. “That’s something that doesn’t exist anywhere in the world today.”
That result emerges from the heat-and-humidity analysis in “Risky Business,” the report on the economic consequences of climate change released on Tuesday. The analysis goes beyond other studies, which have focused on rising temperatures, to incorporate growing medical understanding of the physiological effects of heat and humidity, as well as research on how and where humidity levels will likely rise as the climate changes.
The body’s capacity to cool down in hot weather depends on the evaporation of sweat. That keeps skin temperature below 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius). Above that, core temperature rises past 98.6F. But if humidity is also high, sweat cannot evaporate, and core temperature can increase until the person collapses from heat stroke…”

This is where the fear of Near Term Human Extinction takes shape. We know that at least a 4C degree change in global temperatures is going to occur by the end of this century if no serious action is taken to drastically cut carbon emissions, and that increase alone is enough to make most of the planet unliveable. Even if humans can stay alive longer by staying indoors, what about the plants and animals upon which we depend to survive? They cannot adapt to climate change any faster than humans, so how long will they last with that level of global warming? And what are we humans supposed to live on (indoors) when the oceans, forests and animals are dead?
Now factor in the uncontrollable release of methane from the arctic seabeds, permafrost melting, fracking, etc., and you’ll see what scares the Hell out of me the most – the threat of abrupt climate change in the near-term causing the same extinction event. Not in 100 years, but possibly within 20-30 years.

Fact is the the .22LR won’t even reliably kill a 20lb. groundhog from 40 yards. Accuracy on targets under perfect weather conditions, known distance, ample sighting-in shots, etc. is totally meaningless in combat, or even just hunting squirrels. As every shooter with any real experience knows.
Effective range(50 yards), penetration, and reliability. Must be a centerfire for reliability. A .204 would work great if you are into little bullets.
I would think from talking with many others who have a lot more knowledge/experience than myself & watching plenty of videos on .22LR penetration at well over 100 yards….that if you are shot in the face with a .22LR….your day is seriously screwed and at the very least, you are out of the fight….at least for that day 😉

I can’t see a world in which the economy collapsed having a fraction of troops to go door to door. I can see a scenario of a collapse and grid down with the roving gangs and local law enforcement not being able to keep up. People hungry and cold.

A lot of people gave up and went willingly to the FEMA camps when they ran out of food and water. .308 would be my selection. More than likely to find more feed for it. A .338LP is more of a proprietary weapon. Mission always drives equipment. There are very, very few fits all firearms.
Another point to consider is WHERE you will be engaging the enemy.
.338 Lapua is a long-range rifle. And that’s what you want if you are engaging targets at 1000 yards or so. .308 is also long-range….just not as long as the .338.
If you are in an urban environment, the range will be much shorter in most cases…..AND ….you must consider the sound signature of heavier calibers. You will NOT be firing more than one round from a given location…..unless you intend to only take part in ONE engagement. (If you catch my drift here)
Accurate rifles….in smaller calibers with sound suppression will be the ticket.
Stick with .308. More ammo available and much cheaper than Lapua.
Whatever you have keep it handy. Anything is better than what you don’t have. Today it was a .22, tomorrow it may be .357 or a 12 ga. Just keep what you have handy.
It depends. 7.62 (.308) is plentiful and will be in a war situation. .338 and .338 Lapua not so much. But.. look at the ballistics of .308 VS .338 and there is a bit of a difference. In my AO, bears are measured in feet not inches. The choice is easy when you could be part of the food chain. Here’s a chart for you.

So.. at 200yds, you’re dumping 2815 pounds of energy into a target. If you decide to go crazy and go .300 win mag, LOL good luck! Between the .338 and a .300, the .338 is more enjoyable to shoot and the range of bullets is better.
There’s a reason you can’t find .300 Winchester Magnum brass or ammo right now. Most accurate gun I have, .300 WM and I have .270, .308, 6mm Rem which is close, and a few others. Hard to beat accuracy and power.

I would stay with the 308. There is nothing wrong with the 338, but there is more ammo for the 308 out there. And if you are going to buy ammo you can get almost twice as much for the 308 over the 338.
If you are lucky enough to be around for years the 308 will still have rifling and the 338 rifling will be gone.

I’ve watched guys at our range shoot the .338. Most of them can stand about ten rounds, then they take a month off so the bruises can heal up.
I have played with and owned at one time or another all of the above over the last 30 years. After 100,000 rounds give or take I have landed on a couple of calibers and a couple of go-to rifles. For poking holes in armor you need a .50 cal. For long range tissue a .308 is fine, but I have a .270 and 7 mag that I prefer. The 300+ mags are heavy and beat the crap out of you. If they are not heavy(10+ lbs) and ported they really really beat the crap out of you. For example one of my .308’s with scope is 7.5 pounds and is fun to shoot.

Things to look for in the coming days.
1. A ratcheting up of the propaganda against people who do not comply with the regime.Demonization of typical conservative values.
2. Actions against individuals that do not comply , ie financial, public officials overtly calling for arrest , organized pro government protests building up of their base against a sector of society targeted. ( gun owners , tea party , etc)
3. Direct actions against targeted individuals , harassment (IRS etc ) seizing of assets ( firearms from undesirable , ( from their perspective )individuals) put on terror watch lists using the power of the government to intimidate for compliance . Make examples of people to put fear in the others.
4. False flag event blame the opposition to the regime , crack down on civil liberties , travel , commerce . Threaten to cut off necessities to areas of unrest. Put up road blocks , identity checks , detainment of persons on the list.
5. Cut off all utilities, communication to region , hostile operations start.
The final warning will be loss of power and communication prior to offensive actions .
Develope your own intel , if you see unusual equipment being pre-positioned pout side of large Metropolitan areas pay attention especially field communication equipment or UAV support equipment. offensive forward operating bases are unique in context.
Large movement of Personel requires support , look for for fuel depot’s , field support services ( water , mess , sanitation) it takes time to provide the support infrastructure.
Monitor the ham radio bands do not waist time trying to intercept OPFOR communications they are encrypted , but a lot of noise on these frequencies can indicate operations tempo in your AO.
Ham radio may be the last news that many will hear , many portable radios are compact in size and provide full spectrum coverage in the recieve mode (including some public service bands ) Some run of AA batteries that can be recharged with a small solar charger ( goal zero 3.5 ) I am partial to the YEASU line of portable transevers , some are water proof for field use.Their are some less costly chinese units ones that work as well.
Have all of your gear ready and able to go along with your personal defense system and associated support gear for that system. Prepare two systems one for covert when circumstances rule out carrying a rifle and one when its a full blown situation that requies maximum protection.
Invest in the best gear you can afford pack ONLY WHAT IS NECESSARY TO YOUR MISSION.
Ounces =Pounds =Pain. Think multipurpose and light , I use a Clark Jungle hammock for my Shelter and use titanium field gear ( heavy cover titanium canteen system x2) to cut weight. Get a good pack with an adequate suspension system, a pack with an internal frame and molle attachment points helps for different configurations think modular. Try to keep the pack in the 2500 to 3000 CI size . I use proxucts by Kifaru ,Tailgunner , Molle Express with an E & E pack attached , Urban Zippy for my get home bag all in Multicam. Tactical tailor makes some high quality pockets that fit these packs , A large heavy pack will only serve one purpose , to get you killed.
Be alert , be Aware of your surroundings , use common sense.

If this is journalism, it’s shoddy at best or shit-stirring yellow journalism at it’s worst.
First of all, those jobs are posted fairly frequently on DPKO and other UN Jobs listings with *no* focus on the US and a complete focus on areas of conflict – mostly Africa and the ME right now.
Secondly, the UN can’t find it’s ass with two hands, a GPS, and a seeing eye dog. When you add the absolutely blatant corruption underlying the organization (particularly the missions in Africa), you’ll find an organization that lacks even the ability to pay, feed, clothe, and transport itself.
How do I know this? I worked for DPKO for 9 months in 2004 until I resigned from them in disgust for not paying me on time, screwing me on a contract, the 7 day a week x 12 hr day work schedule, and the utter and blatant corruption underlying the entire organization.

Seems crazy to me, I am not sure how anyone could think that the UN could pull off such an operation. There would be an insurgency in this country that would be second to none. Nobody would wait for some “Blue Helmet” folks to show up at there door. The insurgency would find them first. Former Justice Stevens is unhappy with the 2nd Amendment and has stated that if it were up to him he would modify it so that it only grants a right to bear arms to those serving in a militia.
I would like to help Justice Stevens, …no really. I would make things much simpler and modify the 2nd Amendment to read:
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
