The final stop of Turning Point USA’s tour attracted violence on Monday, November 10th. The campus at the University of California, Berkley has been plagued by political violence over the past few years.

Inside the event, speakers like actor Rob Schneider and Dr. Frank Turek (Charlie Kirk’s religious mentor and a Christian Nationalist) praised TPUSA’s late co-founder, Kirk. They emphasized the need for free speech despite the chaos outside.

Masked protesters, including alleged Antifa members, created the chaos by attacking attendees. They also clashed with police, leaving one conservative student, seen as political opposition, bloodied. Six people were arrested for the violence.

The major problem is that when leftists get violent against Christian Nationalism, which would be horrific in practice, even for some Christians, they make the right-leaning psychopaths look better, or even correct in their views.

The demonstration was organized by unaffiliated groups, including Students Organizing for Liberation. The protest saw hundreds of people gather and surround UC Berkeley’s Zellerbach Hall, chanting slogans like “Down with White Supremacists” and attempting to breach police barricades. Masked protesters, some clad in keffiyehs and allegedly linked to Antifa, clashed with police and attendees, according to a report by Natural News.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office spoke out against the violence while pointing out that the majority of demonstrators peacefully protested. Newsom’s office said that statistics were on their side, with only six arrests out of a total of more than 900 protestors. Newsom added that the agitators were controlled by state and local law enforcement.

“Violence is not a legitimate exercise of First Amendment rights,” a spokesperson for Newsom’s office told Fox News Digital on Wednesday afternoon. “While people have the right to protest, it must be done peacefully.”

The violence drew condemnation from federal authorities as well. U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon warned UC Berkeley and city officials to expect “incoming correspondence” over the incident. “In America, we do not allow citizens to be attacked by violent thugs and shrug and turn our backs,” she declared, according to Natural News.

Antifa expert Andy Ngo identified the protest’s organizers as By Any Means Necessary, a group with a history of confrontational and sometimes violent tactics at Berkeley.

This event was the last stop on the “This is the Turning Point” tour of TPUSA.
