On September 28th, we will witness the last of the four blood moons that fall on Biblical festival dates during 2014 and 2015. This blood moon will be a “supermoon” and it will be clearly visible from the city of Jerusalem. According to Google, a supermoon is “the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth.” In recent years, there have been some that have suggested that there is a link between supermoons and increased seismic activity on our planet. But others have written articles that claim to debunk this theory. Personally, I have read what both sides of the argument have to say, and I do not know which side of the argument is correct. But what I do know is that seismic activity along the Ring of Fire has picked up dramatically in recent years.
According to Volcano Discovery, there are 32 volcanoes on or near the Ring of Fire that are erupting right now. If that sounds like an unusually high number to you, that is because it is an unusually high number.
We have seen earthquake activity increase along the Ring of Fire as well. Just a few days ago, a massive 8.3-magnitude earthquake hit Chile. It produced a tsunami that was approximately 16 feet tall, and tsunami advisories were issued as far away as New Zealand…
A tsunami advisory was issued for the coastal areas of Southern California, which means strong currents are likely and residents should stay away from the shore.
Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties warned residents to stay away from beaches and harbors due to the chances of strong currents. But authorities in the three counties said land inundation is not expected.
“Widespread hazardous tsunami waves are possible” along the coast of Chile and Peru, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said, and a tsunami watch is in effect for Hawaii.
A tsunami watch is issued “to alert emergency management officials and the public of an event which may later impact the watch area,” the center says. A warning is issued when a “potential tsunami with significant widespread inundation is imminent or expected.”
Even New Zealand, which is 6,000 miles away from the quake’s epicenter, issued a tsunami warning.

Approximately 80 percent of all large earthquakes each year happen along the Ring of Fire, and at some point we are going to see natural disasters occur in this “danger zone” that are going to absolutely shock the entire planet.
In particular, you need to watch Japan.
Everyone remembers the tsunami that happened back in 2011, and within the last 30 days we have seen an eruption of Mount Aso and a 5.3-magnitude earthquake that really shook a lot of people up.
At some point, a major earthquake will strike Tokyo. When that happens, the damage to Japan (and to the entire global economy) will be incalculable. The following is from an article that was published a few years ago that discussed the devastation that a magnitude-7.3 earthquake would cause…
Although newer buildings in Tokyo are built to withstand powerful earthquakes, a large quake in the city has the potential to cause widespread damage.
According to the government, a magnitude-7.3 earthquake would kill about 5,600 people, injure 159,000 and destroy 850,000 buildings.
Unfortunately, what is coming to Tokyo is going to be far, far worse than that.
And don’t forget, Mt. Fuji is very close to Tokyo as well. At some point that volcano will erupt again, and the death and devastation it will cause will be absolutely unimaginable.
I hope that we don’t see any major seismic events in Japan or anywhere else at the end of September. Let’s hope and pray for a very peaceful and quiet end to the month.
Sadly, the mainstream media is having a field day mocking those that are warning that this upcoming “blood supermoon” could be significant. For example, just check out this excerpt from an article in a British news source…

Secondly, I know for a fact that Mark Biltz has not been saying that the second coming of Jesus Christ would happen this September.

The end of the world will surely come, but just as surely it will not be this Sunday night or Monday morning when a super moon combines with a lunar eclipse to create a “super blood moon.”
Basically, despite the doomsayers, we’re just going to call it:
No world destroying comet, no Earth shattering quake … and if a religious figure comes/returns, our guess is that it will be on par with a personal visit like what people say happens every day … no Earth-scorching fire and brimstone will happen this weekend.

The situation in Europe with the invasion of the refugees is certainly going to put a stress on all the governments and countries there. The situation in China and over leveraged markets throughout the world are creating economic instability and recessions. Race relations here in this country are not getting better but appear to be getting worse. The sky is falling and needs to be prepped up! I live at the foot of Mount Hood in Oregon. I know I’ve felt little tremors while in bed, there was one about 2 am earlier this morning. I’ve felt about a dozen or so this year. They only last for a minute or so. I probably only feel the ones when I’m in bed being still and quiet.

Anon, I agree. I never trust anyone who sets dates for any type of events. They usually end up with egg on their faces. Michael Snyder gets egg on his face a lot. Seems like he would be tied of that by now.

I actually admire people who set dates. It takes a lot of Chutspa! It also helps to be able to focus on a particular date or place or circumstance in preparing for the anticipated event. I really don’t have a problem with date setters just so long as you take it with a grain of salt. It is like the weatherman. It is an exercise, allows those exercising to prepare for the real event. That is what they were doing with Jade Helm or any other drill or military exercise. Train, train, train. Do not get discouraged if you are doing the right thing.
Laeagle, I take datsetters with a whole shaker of salt. While the time frame could be relevant; could come before or after the aforementioned date; you’re right that it’s a big risk to take. good points.
Date setting should be cause for concern for any Believer. Jesus said to look for signs and gave the example of looking to trees to know when a season change is coming…not a specific date.
I don’t post on here often but I do frequent this site and do read many of the comments. I choose not to get involved in any petty squabbling but will say this. I’ll be the first to admit, anyone who claims to know how and when the SHTF will happen is full of BS and is just fear mongering. However, I can testify from personal experience, that Doomsday happens everyday. It might not be here and it might not be you, but someone somewhere will experience some sort of Doomsday at some point in their life. It’s as certain as death and taxes. Just ask the Chileans, or the Haitians, or somebody that got hit head-on by a drunk driver (that one was mine). Something bad WILL happen to you at some point in your life. period. You can speculate on what your Doomsday will be, but whatever you do…PREPARE for it as extensively as you can! Personally, I don’t know who’s dumber…the fear-mongers or the trolls that want to ridicule the people who choose to be proactive…

Whether you are preparing for Grid Down, Tsunami, Meteorites, Zombie Apocalypse, Earth Quakes, Volcanos, Alien Invasion, Nuclear Apocalypse, etc., etc., it is an opportunity to check your lists and look for deficiencies or gaps in your preps. Like one of you said, SHTF scenarios are occuring all around us and all over the world. Just cause it did not happen in your corner does not mean that you are safe or don’t need to prepare.

I consider myself to be at terminal prep. Where additional preps can become more of a liability. My wish is that I had a large back hoe tractor and a large tree farm. I already have a chain saw, axes, brace and bits, etc. What I would build. I would agree that too much energy is wasted on topics, although informative, are not conducive to survival. Yes, you can always prepare for disaster, it’s advisable to do so. But the one thing you CAN’T do is escape from it, prepping will never help anyone to live forever, it’s as certain as the sunrise, some day we all die, prepped or not.

The thing about all those personal disasters/tragedies and out of the blue accidents, they are happening every hour, on the hour, everywhere in the world.
I guess the least likely to have those kinds of personal tragedies would be the little pygmies down in New Guinea.

But a cataclysmic event that affects hundreds of thousands and possibly millions, that is a scenario that we have not witnessed in our lifetime. Do I fear such an event?
No, because we are situated far enough away from the Ocean to have an immediate effect on us. An earthquake could crumble our homes at anytime. but we are not situated on a major fault.
Our biggest threat, because of living in the woods, is fire. We have taken precautions for that scenario as best as we can.
My point is this. People like Snyder and even myself, aren’t trying to push fear porn or doom and gloom. We are just saying to wake up and assess the situation of where you are and where such a threat may come from, and prepare accordingly.
As I mentioned in a comment earlier, for us regulars, and long timers, a lot of the articles for us is like beating a dead horse. These articles now, for the most part, are for the folks just pulling their heads out of the sand and realizing this is just about “oh SHIT” time.
There are new people clicking on and reading here everyday, for the first time. The variety of lively conversations has something for almost everyone.
I guess I’ll never understand why regulars that don’t enjoy the comments or information, for whatever reason, just seem to enjoy wasting time here to piss and moan about stuff. If I didn’t think that my posts were possibly having a positive and helpful effect on a few, then i would be long gone because i don’t see me ever learning anything more about prepping than what i have already done over the past ten years, plus.
There are many people here that i think a whole lot of and consider as my friends, and some as brothers and sisters in Christ. For that i am thankful.

He was flying down the street so fast there was no time for her to avoid it. she never stood a chance. Back in those days, the judicial system was so lenient on drunk drivers…… anyway, 6 months after her funeral, the same Haitian got hit by another drunk driver head-on and both of them were killed. I sometimes hear people say they don’t want to survive when shtf because it would be too terrible. Good thing they weren’t around in prehistoric times or none of us would be here today. Our people were designed to survive all kinds of nasty stuff. Famine, plague, pestilence, war, treason, earthquakes, etc. Bring it on.
One big difference is prehistoric people weren’t thrust from their present style of living back into the stone age, they were already there. It has taken thousands of years for people to become dependent on the systems in place we have today, you don’t just adjust overnight to being thrown back thousands of years of civilization. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it and find it’s not exactly to your liking after all.
But if that’s all you were around growing up you are used to it. Unfortunately now we have too many comforts, so going backwards in regards to food, water, shelter, sanitation, etc would be more than many could mentally take.
Mental preps are just as important as any physical stock piling. If you don’t have the mental fortitude you won’t make it long term.

Anyone out there intimately familiar with the M855 5.56 green tip round on soft targets? Any soldiers out there who have first hand knowledge of what the round does hitting a person? Maybe some hunters out there who have used the round on pigs or something? The reason I ask is this is the round that I have stocked up on in bulk for a shtf defensive round. I know there are probably better 5.56 rounds like TAP or some some JHP for expansion. I also know the round was originally designed for punching through Russian helmets at 600 yards and I’m probably not going to be shooting at to many Russian helmets in a shtf. You guys think I should look for some better 5.56 rounds for a shtf or are my green tips good?

Natchez emailed me this afternoon. 1000 rds, 62 grain green tip for 399.99. Green tip are ok and were used to penetrate glass on car bombers. They are light barrier blind. They’ll do ok if you hit head, heart or big bone.

The rifle twist makes a difference in accuracy. 1 in 10 twist I do believe is the right one for 62 gr penetrator green tip. Mini 14 have 1 in 7, 1 in 9, and 1 in 10 twist, Have to look at the prefix number to tell.
55 gr fmj for 1 in 7. Not much info on 1 in 9.
55 gr. usually is 1 in 9. 1 in 7 for heavier bullets like 75 gr. etc. In ‘Nam it was 1 in 12 I believe.

All rifles are different, you can buy 2 different brands of AR and one could have a 1-7 twist and the other 1-9. More the twist the better the accuracy.
It really doesn’t matter. Keep it simple people
For heavy or long bullets in an AR-15 you want 1 in 7 twist. It stabilizes the bullet by spinning it faster. 55 grain are ok down to 1 in 9 but I wouldn’t go less than that.
I’ve seen green tip go through an Iraqis head. From what distance I do not know. It didn’t make much of an exit wound at all. I don’t think it tumbles on contact like normal FMJ. Green tip was designed to penetrate thick web gear and magazines on the enemies chest.
That’s what I’m worried about that the round is just going to make nice little holes through people because it is traveling so fast and because it is so hard. Head shots done is done but center mass I would like some expansion.
You don’t have to worry about that, you hit someone they are going to have a bad day, starting right then.
If you hit them center of mass, you are going to end their planned activities for the day.
The m855 will work just fine. Are there better? yes. Do you need them? No. I’ve used them in Close quarter and at multiple distance.

Don’t get caught up in the barrel twist debate. I’ve ran m855 through 1/7, 1/8 and 1/9. It’s fine. The other post are mostly correct, but it’s not a concern for a fighting weapon.
I did not sigh on to the Hague Convention which restricts the use of hollow points in war. I think 62 gr soft points or hollow points shoot just as well.

Do you know that there are some places now teaching to aim at the belt buckle area and not center mass. Shoot low hit them in the leg, shoot high hit them in the chest. Makes sense to me.

The 175 SMK stays supersonic at long range…good choice. I have been comparing Lapua 168 to the Sierra 175 at ranges over 600 yds with my .308. Both are pretty good.
Anything over 600 to 800 yards you will probably want to step into the .300 Win Mag or .338 Lapua cartridges.
We were screwing the 62 grain green tips core into steel plates at 500 yds. I wouldn’t want to be down range.

Green tip ammo was designed to punch through vest that are carrying mags in them. In short making them some what bullet proof. We found that the turds that we were fighting were wearing AK chest packs with loaded mags and the 55 Gr. slug wasn’t going through. So here comes the Green tip. Then we found that the heavier 75 grain bullet didn’t work well in a 1-7 twist. So the made the 1-9 twist that worked very well. You can get ok results in a 1-8 twist also but the best one is the 1-9 or 1-10 twist.
Now for a green tip on bare flesh it works just like a armor piercing round small hole in small hole out. Unless you hit bone.

I do know that a 55gr FMJ standard, non green tip will smoke right on thru a 1/4″ thick steel plate at over 100 yds.. like buttaaa

there is a speed a certain bullet can travel thru a barrel depending upon the bullet type and the twist of the lands and grooves of the rifling
so it is rocket science after all,, reloading isnt re-guessing
its an exact science , powder burn rate / amount of a certain powder, type of projectile, barrel length , and rifling twist etc all go into a formula and a given result is the ballistics of that round and its performance or lack there of
Back to weight of the bullet vs. rifling twist rates…
It’s NOT the weight of the bullet,although weight does go up due to the length of a bullet from 55Gr to 62 gr to 72gr etc
It’s the LOAD BEARING SURFACE on the sides of the bullet,
The part that contacts the rifling.
More load bearing surface, the tighter twist you can run on those little bullets.
Larger/longer bullets naturally have more load bearing surface, so they hold the rifling better,
Smaller bullets, especially boat tails, will have a tendency to strip the copper off the jacket and NOT twist with the barrel.
Longer bullets also naturally stabilize easier.
Shorter bullets like to wobble in flight.
Longer LIGHT WEIGHT bullets (NOT lead core),
Same weight as smaller lead core, but longer with a different core material,
Will stabilize just fine in the same barrel.
The big deal I run into a bunch is ‘Crap’ barrels from the factory.
ARs are so popular, they are cranking out barrels just as fast as they can make them,
The tools get dull, out of specification, but the barrels still keep rolling off the line… (There is a buck to be made, damn the quality…)
Run a bore scope down some of those barrels and you would think they were machined with broken glass!
Fire a few rounds, and the copper they collect is ridiculous.
Proper break in is mandatory for a rough barrel since the copper collected those first few rounds is going to ‘Hydraulic’ and magnify every scratch, pit, chatter mark, ect. as the new barrel work hardens.
When you get a barrel, it’s ‘Soft’.
The first 50 rounds or so is going to compact the grain in the metal, ‘Work Hardening’ the bore.
If there is copper being compressed into those scratches, pits, chatter marks,
When the barrel is new and soft, it will push steel aside, increasing the size of the ‘Issues’ in the barrel,
Making them ‘Problems’.
CLEAN THE CRAP OUT OF THAT BARREL when you get it.
Scrub with something that will break the chips/burrs off the rifling edges.
Then shoot a couple of rounds,
Clean the copper out!
Do that for about 20 times, keeping the copper from building up in the barrel.
As you shoot, two things are happening,
One is the barrel is work hardening, also described by some shooters as ‘Settling In’,
The second is, any copper in the pits is getting hit with HUGE FORCES by the next round down the tube,
Along with that, any sharp edges are still taking copper off the next round, and adding it to the copper in the hole.
If you remove the copper in the hole, scratch, ect.
Then the next round smooths over the sharp edge eventually, but you have to keep cleaning out the copper for this to happen while the barrel is work hardening.
My 25th round in each mag is a tracer. This way I know there’s a mag change coming. Learned it in the Army from a Vietnam vet. My reasoning was that he’d done three tours and lived. He knew what he was talking about. 1st Sgt was a hell on a guy.

The idea bandied around the officer corps in the eighties was attrition. The 5.56 was designed to wound. The wounded soldier would require his comrades to carry him off the field, medical attention and evacuation. Took more than one man out of the fight and tied up enemy resources. In any potential war with NWO occupiers, we may need to employ this strategy. Effective guerilla combat is all about wearing down the enemy.
I reload Barnes and the bullet length is THE factor. I shoot them out of a 1 in 7 and right on the box it tells you no less than 1 in 8. I think people get confused that the smaller number is a faster spin rate. 1 in 10 is for short and light varmint rounds like 40 grain. Lead bullets can be shorter due to the density difference between lead cores and a pure copper round. Go to the Barnes or Hornady web sites; they make it perfectly clear.
I wouldn’t shoot anything over 62 grains in a slow twist barrel and expect sub-MOA accuracy. Hitting center mass at 100 yards can be done with any of them. It’s a 15 MOA wide target at that range for fuck sake. If you can’t hit that, you should turn in your weapon.
FBI uses soft tips. However Id rather use greentips to punch holes in engine blocks or punch holes through the enemy hiding behind steal thick I-Beams. One green tip can punch holes through 2 or 3 bodies at a time. Stick with greentips. Just my opine.

Oops … tsunami warning issued for CT
The state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection said a tsunami warning for Connecticut was inadvertently broadcast from the National Weather Service Thursday morning. The alert included Fairfield County, part of Long Island Sound and New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.
“It was an internal test for the alert that went live,” said Scott Devico, spokesman for the department. “The message was sent through the emergency alert system. The first thing we did was make contact with the National Weather Service and was told it was an accident.” The department later sent out a tweet letting people known it was a mistake. I come from the land Downunder. 🙂 Earthquakes are rare. Very rare. And Earthquakes over 4 are extremely rare. Tremors happen all the time but are not noticed because they barely register. But, in the last month we have had 2 earthquakes near each other off Fraser Island which is in Queensland – the first 5.4 then another 3.3 a couple of days later. They were centred in the sea but felt on the mainland. At the same time one in Victoria registered 3.3. Australia is outside the Rim of Fire. So, if we are getting bigger ones, there has certainly been an uptick especially the two within a couple of days and near each other off Fraser Island. BTW. Fraser Island is the worlds largest sand island and years ago an area was swallowed up with sink holes.
Can you believe this! I have an earthquake APP and I was shopping and I heard an ‘alarm’ and thought it was the guy next to me. I heard it a second time and thought nothing more. I got out to the car and checked my phone and I had the first earthquake notification about 100klms from me! It was only 3.2 but I can assure you it will make the news tonight!!

Technically a person is unable to prepare, it’s not how it works.
People will be judged by how they lived their lives.
Seems most religious people “fear” this scenario when their humanly body dies and wonder where their spirit will eventually go – up or down.
If a person lives their life as being an asshole to others and disrespects others their right to live. Then that person should have something to worry about.
That is the only way to prepare for your God.
From day one, live your life to the best of your ability and that person will not have anything to worry about.
If a person goes through life feeling a lot of guilt, then I suggest that person should start making things right and repair whatever damage that is ailing them.
A person has to be right with themselves, before they get right with their god, otherwise a person may end up on God’s “naughty list”.
As it is said – “treat others, the way you like to be treated.” If a person can live their life honestly and noble as possible. How can God reject that spirit?

I got out of work early today, so drove the 2 hours back to the farm. spent the afternoon with hubby giving him pointers on how to check zero on his scope. Fist time I’ve had the opportunity to shoot my .308 from 200 yds since I bought it (I have a redfield reticulated scope, supposed to zero at 200 yards, reticulated for a 500 yd shot). 1 teeny tiny small leftward adjustment at 200 and I was all set. at 100 yds between the eyeballs on a gourd.
We’re both all set for deer season. I can’t wait for squirrel season the little fockers ate all my pears, and the scuppernongs, too!

Our biggest problem now is population: we need to get human populations down by 5 billion and to ensure the remaining people are high-value. That’s the challenge for the 21st century.

I have believed for decades that Jesus was conceived around Dec 25 and was born sometime around the end of Sept. So… when this Sept 28 convergence happened I thought to myself… I wonder if Jesus was born on the Feast of Tabernacles which this year is Sept 28 ?? So I searched the internet and found a couple of websites that also say something similar… but nothing really jumped out at me.
So imagine my surprise when just a few minutes ago I received this in an email from a rabbi.

What the authors indicated; that they are “Warnings” or “Signs of the Time,” if you will.
