The Mattis Dilemma

The resignation letter of Secretary of Defense James Mattis that was published last Thursday revealed much of the Deep State mindset that has produced the foreign policy catastrophes of the past seventeen years. Mattis, an active duty general in the Marine Corps who reportedly occasionally reads books, received a lot of good press during his time at Defense, sometimes being referred to as “the only adult in the room” when President Donald Trump’s national security and foreign policy team was meeting. Conveniently forgotten are Mattis comments relating to how to “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.” His sobriquet in the Corps was “Mad Dog.”

In the media firestorm that has followed upon General Mattis’s resignation, he has been generally lauded as a highly experienced and respected leader who has numerous friends on both sides of the aisle in Congress. Of course, the press coverage should be taken with a grain of salt as it is designed less to praise Mattis and more to get at Trump over the decision to leave Syria, which is being assailed by both neoliberals and neoconservatives who believe that war is the health of the state.

The arguments against the Trump decisions to depart from Syria and downsize in Afghanistan are contrived for the most part and based on the premise that American intervention in places that Washington deems not to be sufficiently promoting democracy, rule of law and free trade is a good thing. Peter Ford, former British Ambassador to Syria, put it nicely when discussing the reaction in the media: “Trump’s critics…will have the vapors about ‘losing ground to Russia’, ‘making Iran’s day’, and ‘abdicating influence,’ but their criticism is ill-founded. Contrary to their apparent belief, the US does not have a God-given right to send its forces anywhere on the planet it deems fit. Withdrawal will see the US in one respect at least follow the international rules-based system we are so fond of enjoining on others, and will therefore be a victory of sorts for upholders of international law.”

The central argument of the Mattis resignation letter that is being cited by critics relates to Washington’s relationship with the rest of the world and is framed as a failure by President Trump to understand who are friends and who are enemies. Mattis wrote

“One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a nation is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships. While the US remains the indispensable nation in the free world, we cannot protect our interests or serve that role effectively without maintaining strong alliances and showing respect to those allies.

“Similarly, I believe we must be resolute and unambiguous in our approach to those countries whose strategic interests are increasingly in tension with ours. It is clear that China and Russia, for example, want to shape a world consistent with their authoritarian model – gaining veto authority over other nations’ economic, diplomatic, and security decisions – to promote their own interests at the expense of their neighbors, America and our allies. That is why we must use all the tools of American power to provide for the common defense.

“My views on treating allies with respect and also being clear-eyed about both malign actors and strategic competitors are strongly held and informed by over four decades of immersion in these issues. We must do everything possible to advance an international order that is most conducive to our security, prosperity and values, and we are strengthened in this effort by the solidarity of our alliances.”

General Mattis does indeed hold views that were shaped by four decades of experience, but most of it was bad and produced wrong conclusions about America’s place in the world. The Cold War was essentially a bi-polar conflict pitting two adversaries that had the ability to destroy all life on the planet. It generated a Manichean viewpoint on good vs. evil that did not reflect reality which was succeeded by a global war on terror declared by Washington that also exploited the good and evil paradigm. Mattis was a product of that kind of thinking, which was also fueled by the concept of American exceptionalism, which saw the United States as the proper promoter and enforcer of universal values.

There is, of course, another viewpoint, which is that American blundering and use of force as a first option has, in fact, created the current dystopia. The United States is not currently venerated as a force for good, quite the opposite. Opinion polls suggest that Washington is overwhelmingly viewed negatively worldwide and it is perceived as being the nation most likely to start wars. That is not exactly what the nation’s Founders envisioned back in 1783.

Trump is right about leaving Syria where nothing beyond prolonging the bloody conflict is being accomplished. Mattis is wrong about supporting “friends.” For an educated man, he misreads history. The First World War and Second World War developed as they did because of alliances. Countries that appear friendly can exploit relationships with other more powerful nations that will have devastating results. Alliances should be temporary, coming and going based on the interests of the nations involved. In the Middle East, Israel and Saudi Arabia are not actually friends of the United States, and are engaged instead in manipulating Washington to suit their own purposes. Mattis does not understand that and sees a permanent state of war requiring the continued existence of NATO, for example, as a vehicle for deterrence and peace. It is neither. Its very existence depends on a perception of being threatened even where no threat exists, which has poisoned the relationship with Russia since the fall of communism. Worse still, that false perception of threat can lead to war and a global nuclear holocaust.

        • Mattis is a warmongering general, typical of most generals. They like war, they want war, they need war, to justify their existance. Peace is boring and meaningless to the generals. War empowers them, feeds them.

Trump was right, Mattis is wrong. The end.

              • Nice sabbath….. very cool segue…

          • Infidel, Mattis qualifies to be a war criminal under the current Geneva and Hague Conventions. He officially cleared 8 marines of any wrongdoing in a massacre they perpetrated in Fallujah, Iraq back in 2005. Not to mention all of the DU [depleted uranium] munitions used there. People ae still dying from that shit in Iraq even to this day. And people wonder why I don’t trust the US military. This is only one reason. I can name plenty more but I won’t. Mattis and that other neocon who quit, McGurk at the State Dept., are just 2 less neocon scumbags to worry about.

      2. “War is a racket”-Smedley Butler. Mattis needs to go home and play with his grandchildren.

        • War is a racket…no doubt.
Im just questioning the number of years it takes one to figure that out.

          • Since there are thousands of years of recorded war in history with no end in sight, I’d say a lot more than anyone will ever realize.

At least till the second coming.

            • Mattis needs to be assasinated. That globalist warloving global warming pushing freakshow got how many idiots killed? For what? That psyco nutjob needs to have a nice acid bath. Fook him and all the retarded morons that like him…

Thats trouble that fosters instability. The President asks the Secretary Of Defense to leave and they leave. That is functioning government. Toss in political violence and all that comes from it is anarchy.

        • Donald J Trump was elected President of these not so United States, BECAUSE “fly over country” wanted PEACE.
He promised Peace and to stand up for USA.

Clinton would have gotten in a war with Russia.
Only a psychopath is in favor of war. NWO Elite/bankers want war. They want USA and Russia to detroy each other.

Russia is stationing nuclear capable bombers in the carribean, off coast of Venuzuela. Why is this allowed?

China is building man made islands with landing strips.
          Why is this allowed?
China has many troops and equipment prepositioned in Panama to destroy canal just prior to military action against USA.
China is taking over ALL of Africa.
          Why is this allowed?

Mexican and OTM’s are storming our southern border.
          Why is this allowed?

          . . . – – – . . . Secure the US borders.

Why doesn’t USA Special Forces engage Mexican drug cartels and kill them all? No arrest. No trial. KILL the drug cartel members. Use the FULL might of the US military to destroy/kill the cartels. Drugs are a threat to our youth and foolish. KILL ALL DRUG CARTEL. Take the fight to the drug dealers on their turf.

Remove the Russia bombers by diplomacy, or other means available. Those bombers should have accidents. When they are replaced. The replacement Russia bombers should have accidents. Make it very expensive and costly for Russia. After the loss of a dozen aircraft Russia would understand consequences of provocation.

But would it matter? Russia nuclear launch subs are always off east and west coast of USA. FYI.

. . . – – – . . . Why is it that NO one spesks of the above? Why the silence? Never let an enemy get foothold.

Russia-China-Drug Cartels are the real National Security and military threats. No one else really matters.

Newsflash. Wachovia laundered 378 BILLION (yes with a B) of dope money W/o anyone being charged. This isn’t some abnormality it’s what is actually normal. More opium is being processed in Afghanistan under US occupation than under the Taliban that pretty much ended it. See anything wrong with this picture. Another Newsflash, the US don’t own the South China Sea, (hint is in the name). Newsflash the US has 6800 bases outside of the US around the world, Russia has 2; who is threatening who? “China is taking over ALL of Africa.”. Newsflash, China has money, think they weren’t going to expand for resources? They’re not invading, they’re buying. Who greased their bank account? Before China Free Trade they were broke.

            • 800 not 6800 bases worldwide.

            • China is in debt to the tune of 30 trillion. And that’ll just government debt.

It’s not about China v USA. It’s about corporations located in China, manufacturing in China receiving a supply of raw materials, and selling the finished goods unmolested. For the USA, it’s corporations not manufacturing in the USA receiving a supply of raw material and selling the finished goods unmolested. Interestingly much of those goods are manufactured in China. It’s far more Warren Buffet than Carl Marx.

      3. Great job General Mattis. Thank you for your service. Semper Fidelis. Now go home and try retirement like the rest of us old folks.

      4. The views and words of those who created this nation are available to all to read, and endless wars were not/are not allowed LAWFULLY, but FORBIDDEN.

General Mattis’ Oath was to SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE US CONSTITUTION which forbids endless wars and maintaining a “standing military”, proclaims that any “war” without a declaration of war by those who actually serve within the Congress are crimes, etc. Nor are we to be allied with foreign nations, just trade with them, etc.

George Washington: “It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world. The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.”

Thomas Jefferson: “I have ever deemed it fundamental for the United States never to take active part in the quarrels of Europe. Their political interests are entirely distinct from ours. Their mutual jealousies, their balance of power, their complicated alliances, their forms and principles of government, are all foreign to us. They are nations of eternal war. “

John Quincy Adams: “America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom.”

James Madison: “The power to declare war, including the power of judging the causes of war, is fully and exclusively vested in the legislature … the executive has no right, in any case, to decide the question, whether there is or is not cause for declaring war.”

George Washington: “The constitution vests the power of declaring war in Congress; therefore no offensive expedition of importance can be undertaken until after they shall have deliberated upon the subject and authorized such a measure.”

James Madison: “In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence against foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people.”

James Madison: “Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied: and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals, engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”

Thomas Paine: “Not a place upon earth might be so happy as America. Her situation is remote from all the wrangling world, and she has nothing to do but to trade with them.”

Thomas Jefferson: “Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none.”

Alexander Hamilton: “Foreign influence is truly the Grecian horse to a republic. We cannot be too careful to exclude its influence.”

Henry Clay: “Far better is it for ourselves, for Hungary, and for the cause of liberty, that … avoiding the distant wars of Europe, we should keep our lamp burning brightly on the western shore, as a light to all nations, than to hazard its utter extinction among the ruins of fallen or falling republics in Europe.”

John Quincy Adams: “Wherever the standard of freedom and independence has been or shall be unfurled there will America’s hearts, her benedictions, and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher of the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.”

Those were LIES USED by those who were willing to destroy this nation from the inside in order to keep military power, money, etc; NOT TO DEFEND this nation and people.

Oh, and those who serve as US Presidents are ONLY the Comanmnder in Chief when war has been declared by those who actually serve within the Congress and the military called up, or the Militia of the several states is being used for the constitutional reasons listed, “when called into the actual Service of the United States;”.

AS far as what those who serve within our Congress lies about being able to extend the powers that they are ALLOWED to use while serving within our government…

Thomas Jefferson: “Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated.”

Daniel Webster: “Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.”

        • Bullseye Cal

        • Cal, thanks for the great quotes. On one founding concept I disagree. “A standing army” is required for survival in this age of “standing army’s” in all large countries. I’m glad the President is trying to reduce our expensive standing army presence in other countries. 80 years of bases in Germany, 70 years of DMZ presence in Korea, many years in Bosnia, and on and on; the financial burden on the U.S. taxpayer has crushed our economy.

          • They’ve got you believing that their standing military is “necessary” to defend against all their foreign standing armies that they built and keep for that very reason–to cite as the “necessity” for the U.S.’ standing military. The Second Amendment of (not “to”) the U.S. Constitution (the Bill of Rights Amendments amended, changed the U.S. Constitution, they didn’t “clarify” or “re-state” anything that had already–not–been provided for by the erstwhile “supreme law of the land” Constitution that those Amendments were demanded to amend–to change, correct and state for the first time in the Constitution–as the condition, by the necessary number of states to ratify the Constitution, before the necessary number of states needed to ratify the new Constitution of the Union would join the new Union as “free and independent states” such as they had just sacrificed their “lives”, their “fortunes” and their “sacred honor” to become during the Revolutionary War against the state of Great Britain) makes the Militia–the people– the only military. The Militia Constitutionally constitutes the only U.S. Army or Navy , and only then when that portion (logically only an equal portion of each state’s Militia that federally amounts to no more than the smallest member state’s population, its Militia) when called into actual service of the United States. Hence, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the Security of a free State, the Right of the People to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” The age of the Founders was also an “age of standing armies in all large countries”. Nothing’s changed except some altered tactics–achievable by Militia– to accommodate modern weaponry in war and, but more decisively, U.S. Americans’ modern loss of the Spirit of ’76 (at the behest of the “mainstream” media) that makes them unable to correctly understand the libertarian essence of the U.S. Constitution as amended by the Bill of Rights. Gen. of the Armies George Washington created the standing military when the invading Militias were beaten by the Natives who were defending the (Old) Northwest from U.S. invasion of their lands. Thus, tyranny (suppression and repression) is the only purpose for a standing army.

        • Great post. One of the best i have read on here in the 10 years i have frequented this site!

        • Daniel Webster: “Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.”

This quote especially caught my attention. It is so applicable to current politics.

        • All of those quotes from our Founders and historical patriots are impressive. And they were correct in their day when America was separated from the cares, conflicts & squabbles of the world by three oceans.

Technology has changed that reality forever. America cannot allow the NWO to control the world or a large part of it (Europe). Neither can America allow a few powerful nations to expand their borders & influence unchecked (Russia & China) if our own society is to survive their expansion.

Like it or not America does live in an inter-dependent world that requires alliances, global rules of conduct, and other common bonds to guide Western Civilization to a peaceful, prosperous future. These responsibilities must be shared and fair.

NATO as one of the most visible “entangling alliances” is necessary in today’s global environment if western civilization is to continue upon its path of self determination and self realization.

There is strength in numbers and history has proven that alliances are necessary if America is to secure its own future. The American Revolution, fought by a rag, tag band of revolutionaries would have never succeeded against the British Empire if not for the fledgling nation’s alliance with France.

Case in point: It was the French Fleet that crushed the British Navy that allowed American rebels to defeat the British at Yorktown; signalling the end of British rule in the Colonies. 🙂

      6. The big difference now from 200 years ago, is that oil is our life blood and there is no substitute for oil. That is why we maintain a presence there and support corrupt despots like the Saudis.

To walk away from it all then have to invade when they cut off the oil, would be a horrific option. Access to cheap oil is everything. Without a steady flow of oil the US would collapse.

Russia, Iran, Syria etc. would love to see us leave so they could dictate the price of oil.

Those are the cards we have been dealt.

        • America is a petroleum and natural gas exporting nation.

          • Cost of production per barrel US vs Saudi Arabia? Game over

            • There are those who say that Saudi wells are running dry, which is why it has started to reinvest its revenue in new, local technologies, anticipating the day that their wells DO run dry.

Saudi wells are shallow. But I remember Dr. Armand Hammer of Occidental Petroleum bought up shallow, dry wells in Libya decades ago from a “seven sister”.

The he went in and drilled deeper wells with lots more oil. 🙂

Thank God for civilian control and judgement.

          • And people like K2 that have a brain.

            • Genius

Thank you. I tend to agree with your thought process too.

I’m not smart; I’m just interested. I read encyclopedias as a kid, stuttered, wore thick glasses precluding any sports ability and hence interest, one TV in the home taken by Mom or the sports fanatics; nothing else to do but read. Never met anyone that had a strong interest in following sports that had an insight into the world. It’s the opiate of the people. I theorize that less than 10% are reasonably knowledgable to cut through the deception we’re bombarded with to see behind the curtain. Another 40 % know things are not as presented but think to varying degrees that we can’t be told the truth for our own benefit. The remaining to a great degree follow the trend and or just don’t care as their far too concerned with things day to day be it necessity or pleasure. The socialists certainly are in the follow the herd group as their power derives for it. True conservatives are more individualistic and then to think. Neo-Cons (and largely the military) are of the herd mentality who follow the leader substituting the veneer of “patriotism” for the dreaded questioning of authority.

              • Kevin2 and Genius, The Deplorable Renegade is on the same page with both of you. I’m also sick of these wars simply for the neocon/globalist/NWO crowd, the lives lost and ruined, and the drain they’ve been on our economy. The USA needs PEACE. We need to cut the defense budget and stop other useless things the feds do with our tax dollars. We need to re-invest in our country, especially our infrastructure. Kick out all foreigners here illegally and that will save a bundle. I can even support investing in people as long as they’re the RIGHT kind of people. People willing to work and pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. Any people with a LEGITIMATE need for disability should be kept on it; maybe even give them some increase from what we’d save kicking out all the scum foreigners. For far too long DC has shown so much favoritism to these foreigners while ignoring Americans. It’s time for that to change. We need to take care of our own who have legitimate needs but those who are able-bodied need to get off their dead asses and go to work doing SOMETHING, ANYTHING. Stop leeching off us working folks who can barely hold our own.

                • The Deplorable Renegade

Everything from the trade agreements, carbon emissions and immigration facilitate merging of the world in wealth and culture. “Taking care of your own” is something that TPTB, through their tentacles in academia, media social and official decree are suppressing as greedy and no longer desirable. The youth are buying in while simultaneously their opportunities, once common, are distributed “for the greater good” globally. These youth have the “luxury” of supporting such ideals because they’re remaining adolescents, still connected to their parents wallet well into their 30s and beyond.

      8. http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Springfield_Mafia

        Paraphrased —
Fat Tony D said, “One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a (racket) is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships…Similarly, I believe we must be resolute and unambiguous in our approach to those (rackets) whose strategic interests are increasingly in tension with ours.”

      9. After spending hundreds of trillions fighting stupid wars and engaging in illegal bombings and drone strikes not authorized by Congress, just one president after another using the nebulalous executive War Powers Act of 1973, then what do we have to show for it????

What if we had spent that money domestically? Is there anyone who thinks it’s been better to waste money supporting dubious allies who then stab us in the back economically and politically?

Think of the immense sums spent on Germany yet they are horrible allies. Or Japan…or Korea.

What would America look like if ALL of that money was spent on infrastructure and improving the lives of our citizens?

      10. Maranatha, very good points. If that money had been spent the way you describe I’d say we’d be much, much better off right now. The neocons will be the death of this nation unless they’re stopped.

      11. Why title this article “The Mattis Dilemma”? Getting rid of a neocon scumbag is no dilemma IMHO.

      12. In a JUST world

that zombie slab-faced moron Mattis would be swinging by his neck… until those little piggy eyes popped out.

      13. “The fall of Communism”.

        Right.

Don’t you mean “the transference of Communism to yet another nation”?

By the way, the ex head of the KGB is busy running your sop called “non communist” nation.

      14. I was a jar head but, I don’t consider myself a Marine. To do so is to be like a high school football player talking about glory days. People need to GTFU. Hint, the first word is grow. To make it to general takes political pull. He was in someone’s pocket. There has been a huge cut in the officer corps under Obama. I bet there isn’t to much good now to choose from. Ike was right, the military industrial complex is alive and well. We need to pull the plug on policing the world. What we cannot produce here is very little and we don’t need it anyway. Do away with the income tax and run the government off of tariffs as we use to. Kill the beast from Jekyll Island.

      15. Mattis’s undereye saddlebags tell a lot of killing. This mofo needs to be waterboarded along with his like minded goonsquad pentagram murderer worshippers called the Pentagon. These evil bastards intend to kill us all.

        • Indeed, they do. They’ve got to get the guns first and or be able to red flag their political opponents.

        • Maybe drawn and quartered or acid bath or impaled or burned at the stake or buried up to his neck in a fire ant hill.

      16. The determination of when and where to declare war is not determined by Generals.
It is wholly perpetrated by our Universities and K-street think tanks/lobbyist.

      17. Jumped the Shark: I think alliances amongst allies are a fine thing. HOWEVER,while our supposed allies were giving out free healthcare, tuition, and modern transportation,we were footing their defense costs. Some allies. I liked Matthis, but he’s wrong here.

      18. When isis reemerges the Kurds are screwed.
NEVER ALLY WITH THE U.S. is the new mantra worldwide

          Who is arming ISIS?

          It’s not Russia

          It’s not Iran

          It’s not Syria

          • It depends on what day you ask

            • Irresponsible arms transfers by countries including the UK, USA, Russia, China, Germany and France have provided the armed group with a huge and lethal arsenal in the past.

              • ht tps://youtu.be/BOH8GwYKs6U

                • Mattis knew about the pullout long ago…but if you want to believe that’s his reason for retiring then sobeit.

              • Irresponsible arms transfers by countries including the UK, USA, Russia, China, Germany and France have provided the armed group with a huge and lethal arsenal in the past.

                No sir.

Very orchestrated shipments of high tech missiles out of NATO stores (checking numbers, see Zero Hedge) air dropped by the US are arming ISIS. ISIS is armed and funded by those nations desiring the overthrow of the Syrian government. That is Saudi Arabia, Israel & the USA (with the USA doing the air drops).

You’re being scammed. ISIS is a creation of the aforementioned three.

                • CIsisA

                  • Infidel

Please educate me. What is CIsisA?

                    • CIA and ISIS combined. As you probably know, CIA created ISIS.

                    • Got it, yes well aware.

                    • Kevin2, it sounds like a spinoff of Al-CIAIDA. Right after 9/11 I remember Alex Jones start using that term to describe the CIA. Al-Qaeda was created by the CIA in Afghanistan back in the 80s when we were arming the mujahideen against the Soviet occupation.

      19. Mattis is a globalist hack and supported allowing trannies to serve in the military.

        I can’t stand him.

        • Probably gets a paycheck from the IDF too.

      20. I hope they were 400 turbos

      21. “People should not be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of their people.”

      22. That old peckerhead is not a patriot

He’s a corrupt nwo pos stooge

        Fuck him

      23. Trump is having a difficult time finding “qualified help” to fill Cabinet positions that aren’t already globalists. This speaks volumes for the massive infiltration of government, academia and media that has occurred over many many decades.

      24. Dave Hodges recently wrote Mathis or his family members might have been threatened, hence his confounding rationales, and his resignation.

The Creep State will stop at nothing: murder, blackmail, and more.

Pray for the President. He’s under attack 24/7 by the demoncrats and lame stream media.

Since when do we seize attorney-client records? Why do we keep permitting this wanton destruction of our Constitution? Even then, Mueller found NOTHING on Trump! Why do we remain silent about this Joker? He & Hilary sold $400 million of Uranium to the Russians!

“Evil results when good people remain silent”, Edmund Burke said. So KEEP speaking up!

These people are bullies and should not scare you one bit. They are BULLIES!

        DEMAND your Constitution back!

        Stand UP to this tyranny!

Empower others by naming the evil!

Demand that Bush and Obama face prosecution for treason by permitting and legislating NSA 4th Amendment intrusions and violations!

Stay alert, and keep your head on a swivel.

      25. Mattis knew about the pullout long ago…but if you want to believe that’s his reason for retiring then sobeit.

      26. Trump is a game player. Mattis had skills to defeat ISIS, and now Trump needs a different skill set. Talk on the street is that Kelly and Mattis are moving to perform duty in the Military Tribunals that will soon come to pass.
A comment to “Lone Ranger”… men have no idea how to stand up to government. Other than using “lead”, there is no option other than politics, which is fraudulent. Give specific instructions, if one wants specific actions… or be quiet. The Yellow Vests are doomed, because they allowed gun confiscation BEFORE they became active. Hint./12.29.18

“Mattis had skills to defeat ISIS”

The US armed ISIS. ISIS was attacking the Syrian government and hence allied with us. Forget the news. It’s nonsense.

          • “Mattis had skills to defeat ISIS”

God you have to be the stupidest person to ever post here… WOW!

      27. Mattis is smart enough to get out before the shit storm hits in January.

        • The executive order on treason and military tribunals takes effect on Jan 1, 2019 and the rumors keep getting wilder based upon those indictments. Also note many politicians and former politicians have either recently taken their accounts down or have gone strangely silent despite habitually making at least daily tweets or facebook posts.

          It is at least peculiar.

          • Maranatha

“…executive order on treason and military tribunals…”

As necessary as that may be it is bone chilling. It is not implying but boldly stating that the Constitutional government has failed. The cause isn’t inherently systemic due to the Constitution but rather not following the Constitution. That 2000+ year old question still arises and as of yet hasn’t been adequately answered,

“Who protects us from our protectors”.

All government has a flaw. It’s administered by people.

            • You know we might be better off if we were ruled by an AI computer that only dictated the constitution. All court cases, policies, laws were screened through this AI constitution computer and the decisions final. And it would be hackproof. I bet it would be waaaaay better than corrupt human assholes making law.

              • Once again frightening but likely preferable. People in power may (unlikely) or may not (most probable) be benevolent. The ambitious rise to power, the meek do not inherit the earth and good does not triumph over evil; greed is the likely driver.

                “Who watches the watchmen”?

              • Genius, I’d be willing to give that idea a try. At least we could destroy the damn computer if it ever started doing like the scum we have now.

            • kevin2, I think the answer would have to be, WE DO IT OURSELVES SINCE WE’RE ON OUR OWN ANYWAY. As you correctly pointed out, government is totally flawed.

              • I can’t move manufacturing jobs to the US. We can at best educate those that will listen.

      28. To all you believers in Q or these dreamed up military tribunals get a grip nothing will happen to these criminals they will all stay rich and die quietly and peacefully and secure in their mansions behind their walls.

      29. Mattis works for the military industrial complex. He should be tried and executed for treason.

        • BillW

Thats a tad harsh. I’m not comfortable with executions with a political goal. The rein of terror of the French Revolution followed by Napoleon filling the political vacuum and the assassination of Tzar Nicolaus followed by Stalin less than a decade later is the likely road map.

      30. The power that the Secretary of Defense and State have can start a war. We’re witnessing both having “gone off the reservation” with statements (and likely orders) that certainly go against the spirit if not the letter of the Presidents directives. This is in the overt. In the covert world of the CIA types its even worse. They are a government into themselves apparently directed by forces outside of the legal chain of command. One must wonder if other great powers have the same disorder? I just can’t imagine the Chinese or Russians having rogue departments within their governments. If they do you can guarantee that war is inevitable.

We’re witnessing political theatre that is part suspense and part comedy. The joke is on humanity.

“All the world is a stage”
        William Shakespeare

      31. Career military folks tend to be people who cant make it in the real world. Most government parasite workers are folks who cant hold a job where they have to be productive enough to make a profit for a civilian employer. Of course the General is a New world Order advocate. And He thought he could boss Trump on Foreign Policy. And Trump like Truman cant be bossed. Truman Fired Mc Arthur for not doing as he was told. And Trump fired Mattis for the same thing. Hurrah for President Donald Trump.
