There Have Been 296 Earthquakes In The Vicinity Of The Yellowstone Supervolcano Within The Last 7 Days
Is it possible that the Yellowstone supervolcano is gearing up for a major eruption? If you follow my work on a regular basis, then you already know that I spend a lot of time documenting how the crust of our planet is becoming increasingly unstable. Most of this shaking is taking place far away from the continental United States, and so most Americans are not too concerned about it. But we should be concerned about it, because a major seismic event could change all of our lives in a single instant. For instance, a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would have the potential of being an E.L.E. (extinction level event). That is why it is so alarming that there have been 296 earthquakes in the vicinity of the Yellowstone supervolcano within the last 7 days. Scientists are trying to convince us that everything is going to be okay, but there are others that are not so sure.
The biggest earthquake in this swarm occurred last Thursday evening. It was initially measured to be a magnitude 4.5 earthquake, but it was later downgraded to a 4.4. It was the biggest quake in the region since a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck close to Norris Geyser Basin in March 2014. This magnitude 4.4 earthquake was so powerful that people felt it as far away as Bozeman…
The main quake was centered about 5.8 miles underground.
The quake and aftershocks occurred just over 8 miles northeast from West Yellowstone, according to the U.S. Geological Service.
A witness reported that she felt the building she was in move.
Dozens of people reported that they felt it in and around West Yellowstone, Gardiner, Ennis, and Bozeman.
But by itself that one quake would only be of minor concern. What is troubling many of the experts is that this earthquake has been accompanied by 295 smaller ones.
There is normally a rise in seismic activity before a volcano erupts, and according to theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, a long overdue eruption at Yellowstone could “rip the guts out of the USA”…
Scientists currently believe that there’s a 10% chance that a “supervolcanic Category 7 eruption” could take place this century, as pointed out by theoretical physicist Michio Kaku who appeared on a segment for Fox News.
The grey haired physicist told Shepard Smith that the “danger” we are now facing with the caldera is that it’s long overdue for an eruption which Kaku said could “rip the guts out of the USA.”
Kaku said that a “pocket of lava” located under the park has turned out to be twice as big as scientists originally thought.
I would like to try to describe for you what a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would mean for this country.
Hundreds of cubic miles of ash, rock and lava would be blasted into the atmosphere, and this would likely plunge much of the northern hemisphere into several days of complete darkness. Virtually everything within 100 miles of Yellowstone would be immediately killed, but a much more cruel fate would befall those that live in major cities outside of the immediate blast zone such as Salt Lake City and Denver.
Hot volcanic ash, rock and dust would rain down on those cities literally for weeks. In the end, it would be extremely difficult for anyone living in those communities to survive. In fact, it has been estimated that 90 percent of all people living within 600 miles of Yellowstone would be killed.
Experts project that such an eruption would dump a layer of volcanic ash that is at least 10 feet deep up to 1,000 miles away, and approximately two-thirds of the United States would suddenly become uninhabitable. The volcanic ash would severely contaminate most of our water supplies, and growing food in the middle of the country would become next to impossible.
In other words, it would be the end of our country as we know it today.
The rest of the planet, and this would especially be true for the northern hemisphere, would experience what is known as a “nuclear winter”. An extreme period of “global cooling” would take place, and temperatures around the world would fall by up to 20 degrees. Crops would fail all over the planet, and severe famine would sweep the globe.
In the end, billions could die.
So yes, this is a threat that we should take very seriously.
But today, most Americans think of Yellowstone as little more than a fun tourist attraction. But the truth is that many tourists have discovered just how dangerous Yellowstone can be. Some have been scalded by boiling water from geysers that can get as hot as 250 degrees Fahrenheit, and one man from North Carolina recently had to be flown to a burn center after he mistakenly fell into a hot spring…
A North Carolina man was flown to the University of Utah Burn Center after falling into a hot spring at Yellowstone National Park late Tuesday night.
Gervais Dylan Gatete, 21, was with seven other people in the Lower Geyser Basin north of Old Faithful when he fell, according to a park news release.
The group attempted to transport Gatete, an employee with Xanterra Parks and Resorts, by car for medical treatment. Just before midnight, they flagged down a park ranger near Seven Mile Bridge on the West Entrance Road.
Since Yellowstone is still very active, scientists assure us that it will erupt again one day.
And when that happens, all of our lives will be completely turned upside down in a single moment.

The number of earthquakes at Yellowstone this year is the same number as most previous years. Nothing important going on there right now. The only interesting thing about the story is that Yellowstone has the potential to eliminate the US. Wipe us off the map. When it goes, we go. And the rest of the world suffers through famine because of failed crops. Other than that, everything is okay.
Hearsay, but interesting. More quakes than reported?

boyo,
Maybe you should tell people that Tom Lupshu posted this video on YouTube March 23, 2014. Kind of old news, don’t you think? By now, either the bison have returned or Yellowstone blew up and nobody told us about it(government cover-up)!
Which do you think is more likely?
Good I hate long waits and/or the thought the libturds might be successful in destroying us first….
It’s a good thing when there are lots of little earthquakes. It means the tension is getting dissipated.
It would be alarming when the earthquakes disappear and there’s a large amount of crustal deformation.
Snyder is a bit of a alarmist
All Snyder does is rip off other people work and research, and just rewrites it with his name on it. I’ve printed lots of info here and then a day later these writers come on here and report it like they discovered it. Pffttt.
Remember the Famous Polar Bear on a small Ice sheet PHOTO, and the Hoaxter’s claiming the Ice caps are melting due to Global warming and Polar bears will soon be instinct because they lost their habitat?
Well Polar Bears climb on all sized of ice sheets, and in fact Polar Bears can swim 60 miles at a time to reach other ice caps and ice sheets. Yep ALL a Hoax Folks. Nothing here, now move along. Its all about Alarmist Sheisters trying to make a Buck and peddle their Fiction Fear Books.
I’m gonna write a Book, “How to Survive the Fear Porn Peddlers.”
There are more polar bears alive today that at any time in the past since they’ve been counting.
I didn’t even know polar bears COULD count!!!
Beautiful!!! hahaha
All we get is constant bullcr*p from Crack. As if the world needs another ignorant person’s ignorant opinion.
Sorry, But as a geologist I say no, That can be true on a strike slip type of fault such as the San An, but not on a volcanic problem. In a fault the land movement is the problem, in a volcano it is just a symptom. I only live about 200 miles from Yellowstone. I can only hope it’s not the big one, lots of small ones, even they would not be good.
Paranoid I think you kind of answered my question. It seems like on one hand we’re talking about an Earthquake and on the other a Volcano. I suppose there are usually Earthquakes leading up to a Volcanic eruption, but has there ever been a flat earth Volcanic eruption. AS some seem to suggest that there could be an eruption without any warning wouldn’t there have to be a cone developed first. And as for the animals, they come and go out of the park all the time, and it’s not unusual to see the Buffalo running. Trekker Out. I usually wear weights around my ankles!
In the 1940S a man was plowing his cornfield in Mexico? ground split open gas and dirt started coming out and over the next few years a brand new volcano built up. It’s in all the geology books 40 years ago. I’m sure you could find pictures on the net.
Think more about it as the cork being popped out of a champlain bottle. Its the sudden release of pressure that will spew everything into the atmosphere. The earthquakes now are likely due to expansion of the crust from increased pressure.
Lets hope it holds.
Happy trails
Well said!
Yellowstone Park is very deceptive. It is so large and peaceful. It is hard to believe that you are walking over the mouth of a super volcano, even with the geysers and hot springs. A full eruption would be devastating.
Yes, I am concerned. But – aside from stockpiling a ridiculous amount of food and fuel, there’s nothing I can do about it. If (when?) it does blow up I can take some comfort in knowing I live just past the 600 mile line and upwind at that. Still, I and most of my neighbors will die. There’s nothing I can do to physically protect any of us from such a disaster so my only recourse is to prepare to meet my maker.
I think that’s good advice for all of us, regardless of which disaster du jour we’re assailed with.
I would love to see REDOUBT wiped off the map, and those on that other wanna be prepping site, who are trying to sell you property up there, get their asses handed to them, think they know it all. How about write a Book “One Second After Yellowstone Blows.” Yeah that nut-job.
Living in FL, we are far removed from Yellowstone, with mild temps, a year round growing season, low taxes, one of the best economies in the country, plenty of fresh clean water and wild life abound, vs. these freaks living up in their cabins in the Mountains, with 3 cats, and freaking out, spending half their lives fighting the elements just trying to stay warm. I just laugh.
Quite a sight here today. Had at least 26 Turkeys, I could hardly count all of them, 4 adults and the rest were month old babies circled in to feed, was a thrill to see. And when that was happening, a yearling Buck wandered in to see what was going on. I got a few Pics of the deer and turkeys together. They were not bothered by each other and seemed to assimilate together just fine. And this all unfolded about 20 yards from my cottage door. I think 1 of the 2 Doe’s on my property finally had a fawn, the Doe’s are feeding separate now at dusk, which means one is back there watching the nest and baby, while the other is out feeding. They take turns. My property is a big natural nursery. And backs up to miles of nature preserve and waterways. Been raining almost daily now in the afternoon for a hour, like clock work of the summer rain patterns. You want to understand nature, go live out in it and observe. These clown Authors sitting behind a keyboard all day trying to convince us about what nature is doing are Frauds. Just saying.
Yeah I was thinking similar thoughts, but you’ve said it better than I could.
Sounds like you have a great spread down in FL…I enjoy visiting your state a few times a year.
Not sure why you are bashing the folks in the Northwest though…it is beautiful country. Yes, winters are cold, but summers are amazing. Florida winters are amazing, but I would not want to go through summer in Orlando/Jacksonville/Ft Myers/Tampa without AC.
I do agree with you that the doom porn is getting quite tedious…events occurring on a geologic time scale are not worth worrying about day to day.
I think you have been sniffing too much Corexent from the Gulf. If you think you will survive the coming economic collapse anywhere in Florida than think again. The next hurricane will probably wipe you out if you do survive.
I’m only bashing the Huckster Authors who live up in the NW. One is a First aid giver in the military knows how to can food and has 3 cats and can’t remember his name since he has no credibility. The other One Second after Author, turned Traitor to the US, the SH!ll that stands with Israehell and says so on his website pushes Redoubt, which will be wiped off the map after Yellowstone Blows No-Doubt!!
Have not had any kind of Hurricane here in FL since 2004-2005. And I am now inland and up to 45-47 Ft in elevation. Away from the coast. So life is good. The summer heat is no big deal. People have been living in Florida for 5000 years with no A/C. And you just have to hydrate (Drink Water) and get all your work done early in the day or later in the afternoon. Nappy time mid day and relax. I will take heat before freezing temps any day. Go swimming to cool off!!
Everybody needs to go find their slice of paradise out in the country. Get out of the cities ASAP!! There are no excuses period.
I don’t like the thought of Tsunamis. But the ocean will not be fished out. And salt water can be desalinated.
Without mass mosquito control Florida would be hell?
I rarely use insecticides preferring, always natural means. That said, in a disaster expect nature to fill voids left by people. I do purposely keep a stock of insecticides. I intend not to lose if possible the fruit and nut trees I’ve planted, or the berry perennials growing in my yard.
If you have any doubt read “The Little House on the Prarie” books to your kids. The survival aspects are a great lesson for kids. Amazing how many time nature nearly destroyed them.
Enjoy your mercury laden thunderstorms, worthless soil, and cannibal apes. I wouldn’t want to live or survive in FL.
CSS hopefully you are at least 50 miles from Florida coasts and 50 ft above sea level.
The Seven TRUMP-ets will blow in every corner of the land.
The Yellowstone is one of them.
If a Cracked Skull laughed in the swamp and nobody was there to hear him but the Mis-skeetoes would anybody care. Trekker Out. Probably not Braveheart!

Interesting info on how much of each state is owned by the Feds.
Fear porn. Old news.
Do you have anything relevant to us today? Such as Sharia law in the Great Lakes, or the looney left marching around?
A little physics….”Some have been scalded by boiling water from geysers that can get as hot as 250 degrees Fahrenheit,…”
Unless the water is contained (like in a pressure vessel, radiator etc.) when you get past 212F @ sea level you have steam which is very wet (saturated) and becomes less saturated as the temp goes up.
At altitude, the boiling point drops lower than 212F depending on how high. For instance, at 10,000 ft water boils at about 193F.

Man seen falling into Yellowstone geyser presumed dead, officials say: That was last June 2016.
Last week June 13th 2017:
Man severely burned after falling into hot spring at Yellowstone National Park
GREAT FALLS –
Gervais Dylan Gatete from Raleigh, North Carolina, sustained severe burns after falling into a hot spring at Yellowstone National park on Tuesday, June 13.
It happened in the Lower Geyser Basin off of Fountain Flat Drive just north of the Old Faithful area, according to a press release.
Gatete, 21 years old, is an employee with Xanterra Parks and Resorts.
He was with seven other people when he fell.
After the incident, the group attempted to evacuate Gatete by car. Just before midnight, they flagged down a ranger near Seven Mile Bridge on the West Entrance Road.
Park staff provided immediate medical assistance and took Gatete via ambulance to the airport in West Yellowstone.
From there, he was flown to a hospital.
Since rangers were not at the scene of the incident last night, it is not yet clear exactly where and how it occurred.
Park officials are investigating the incident.
“Yellowstone’s thermal features are dangerous,” said Park Superintendent Dan Wenk. “We continually stress that people must stay on trails and boardwalks in geyser basins, not only to protect resources, but for their own safety.”
DUH!!!!
Lots of hot springs natural features form hard crusts of mineral deposits on the surface over soft mud or even liquid pools. Continuing water flow can move soft mud or earth beneath surface crusty mineral deposits.
The ground can look solid, but gives way under a humans weight, and drops you into scalding water or mud.
Stupid tourists keep dying in this stuff by crossing barriers.
I visited a glacier in New Zealand. Same problem, stupid tourists think they are standing on solid ground. It’s really soil and mineral tailings the glacier has been pushing out of the way. Below the Rock and soil is flowing, and melting ice. At any moment tons of rock and soil can give way, and tourists die. New Zealand, very geologically active, is not a country I’d want to escape to, if the planet ever fought back against the sins of man.
Ain’t skeert. Maybe they could use one of Hillary’s bloomers to place over top the cauldron and gag it. I believe it would fit…….
Those might gag a maggot but a volcano?
Says the world-renowned geophysicist and Volcano Hunter Michael Snyder….LOL!!!
I wonder if he’d be up for pickin some winning lotto numbers for me…..
Doubtful. Just look at all the bogus time frames on the collapse(s) he’s predicted.
Snyder is a washed up Lawyer. One thing I do see that he did learn in Law School is, if you don’t have the Facts or the Law on your side, then just Baffle them with your BS!! #1 Rule in Law School.
Off Topic:
I checked out the website recommended by Tina.
Anna Von Reitz.com
This lawyer is a prolific writer. I think she is a judge.
If I’m correct, she says lawyers take an oath to the English Crown. “British” in BAR
Presidents can’t be lawyers. Lawyers can’t hold positions in any political party.
Lots of info and solutions.
__
I see your Governor Moonbeam just received his 5th raise in 5 years.
Taxpayer dollars hard at work in California. His pension is in PotCoin.
She is way out there. Most of that stuff is hogwash. The word “bar” is not an abbreviation for anything. Simple research would show that.
That’s just like the people who say your birth certificate is worth billions because it has a serial number and your name is in all caps. Silly. My birth certificate has no numbers at all, other than my birth date, and the book and page number where the original is located. And my name is typed in initial caps. All hogwash.
BRITISH ACCREDITED REGISTRY
https://www.google.com/#q=what+is+bar+british+accredited+registry
That leads you to a bunch of links to wacko sites.
Snyder, Do you believe there is anything that can be done to prevent an “extinction level event”?
I’m thinking no, because it would not be billed as such.
That being the case, and it is, then what did you gain by “going public” with this “information” (riiiight, ha ha)?
Money,that’s all.. always money.
Peddle your doomsday fear some place else, pimple head.
An extinction level event means world wide, which means there’s nothing you can do to survive it.
This is like running around, flapping your arms, and screaming “We’re all going to die sometime in 80 years!!!”. Yeah, duh. You can’t do anything about it, so why worry about it?
Yellowstone will erupt but we don’t know when. Unless you are in the 100 mile radius, there is a chance for survival. If you are in 1,000 mile radius you’ll be under ten feet of ash.
Someone in a high rise with sealed windows and doors on a windy day might be OK.
There will be an ice age but people survive. Get out your winter survival gear. Breathing ash is going to be a problem. But I’m sure there are solutions.
Extinction is not an option.

So now doom-porn purveyor Mike Snyder is an expert in geology, too. At least he ends the article with useful advice for SHTFPlan readers: Don’t touch boiling water.
Guess I’ll go in the first blast, so when I quit posting get your dust mask on. Trekker Out. Ain’t felt no tremor!
Magnitude isn’t a major indicator of impending eruption. The quakes that get your attention as a volcanologist are the type called ‘harmonic tremor’ which indicate magma movement, usually shallow. These often have magnitudes under 3, but can mean that an eruption is imminent, like hours to days away. Sudden introduction of fresh hot magma into a cooler, more stable melt will chemically and thermally destabilize the magma body. Rapid exolution of gas is likely, and can lead to overpressure and BOOM. My St Helen’s 1980 eruption was a small example of that process.
Does this headline fall under the “no shit, sherlock” category?
Ya think? Wow amazing that a super volcano would cause world wide trouble I thought it was only super duper volcanos that did that.
You are right… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlaou2xO9ew
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEAukURihiE
Yellowstone better erupt before it gets blue balls.
Yellostone Lake should be drained to prevent an ELE!
Hey…..mebbee it’s Mother Nature’s solution for Global Warming, ya know…Nuclear Winter. {snort}
Would “rip the guts out of America?”
Sorry, but the fascist left did that years ago
@Snyder
well duh. could happen with many other supervolcanoes too. just nobody knows when.
I’ve heard much lower figures for the amount of ash put out by a Yellowstone eruption. There would be a significant amount out to a few hundred miles, but it would be less than an inch farther out.
Breathing problems, suffocation, or later lung problems would be the worst result.
After the dust settles, people would need to wash down buildings, cars, streets, etc. Then they would need to plow the ash under. The ash might actually be a good soil amendment and help mineral-poor areas, depending on exactly what the ash contained.
Some believe a layer of ash would replenish the soil with the minerals farming has depleted ? 6 inches of potash would be perfect?
If you haven’t seen . Take Shelter. With Michael Shannon . Great prepper movie?
Yellowstone could blow any second, in geological time! I’ll pass the warning onto my great, great, great, grand kids in a time capsule.
Old faithful is running down not up, by the way.
“overdue” = that sucker might blow tomorrow. that sucker might blow in 10 years. that sucker might blow in 10,000 years or 100,000 years. overdue on a geologic time scale is not the same as overdue on a human lifespan scale.
Plan Twice, you are NOT getting the message!!!
Your/our life time, THIS YEAR…!!!
Just the fact that lately so much has been written on this subject should be ringing the church bells all across the US but unfortunately the critical thinking has disappeared and is now just another relic.
Yes… only weeks left.
For those still asleep, it’s in hundreds of years… keep on snoring.
Bobane,
I do and am prepped. You have no idea!
So far as the end of the world, Jesus Christ is my ultimate prep.
It its my time, I will happily go to my Lord and Savior. My preps may then help others.
The only safe area of US is north of road 322 in the North East. That would be the hills of Vermont, Maine and parts of hilly NY state.
Pray for the rest!
Man does this guy dig hard to puke out some fear porn every day or what!
My question for Michael Snyder is he lives in Idaho.. If you think this is close to happening.. Why haven’t you moved your family ?
The streets melt, and they blame people for going beyond the velvet rope.
Alot of these answers were written for irony, in the tradition of Bastiat’s broken window, but chaos was not very creative for the Pompeians.
Yeah, it seems like I’ve been hearing this stuff for years. I’m not saying that it’s nothing to be concerned about, but I am saying that by crying “wolf” year after year will cause no one to pay any attention when there really is a valid concern.
This is the REAL reason that there are so many Yellowstone “OMG it’s gonna blow!” stories. It is a DISTRACTION!
