Snyder: “A Major Event Just Happened In Financial Markets”

by | Aug 19, 2014 | Headline News | 230 comments

Do you LOVE America?

Editor’s Note: We are on the cusp of possibly the greatest financial and economic collapse in the history of the world. That may sound sensational, but when you consider the liabilities taken on by the United States of America in recent decades (Over $200 trillion and counting) and the continued degradation of Americans’ wealth and income, one can’t help but wonder if this is how informed Romans felt before their entire civilization collapsed into a medieval nightmare that spanned centuries. In the following analysis from Michael Snyder, author of The Beginning of the End and founder of The Economic Collapse Blog, we see fourteen key reasons for why the party may finally be coming to end. Though it’s impossible to predict ‘when’ the waterfall event will take place, what we can surmise with near certainty is that a collapse in our way of life is now inevitable.

14 Reasons Why The U.S. Economy’s Bubble Of False Prosperity May Be About To Burst
    By Michael Snyder

bubble-collapseDid you know that a major event just happened in the financial markets that we have not seen since the financial crisis of 2008?  If you rely on the mainstream media for your news, you probably didn’t even hear about it.  Just prior to the last stock market crash, a massive amount of money was pulled out of junk bonds.  Now it is happening again.  In fact, as you will read about below, the market for high yield bonds just experienced “a 6-sigma event”.  But this is not the only indication that the U.S. economy could be on the verge of very hard times.  Retail sales are extremely disappointing, mortgage applications are at a 14 year low and growing geopolitical storms around the world have investors spooked.  For a long time now, we have been enjoying a period of relative economic stability even though our underlying economic fundamentals continue to get even worse.  Unfortunately, there are now a bunch of signs that this period of relative stability is about to end.  The following are 14 reasons why the U.S. economy’s bubble of false prosperity may be about to burst…

#1 The U.S. junk bond market just experienced “a 6-sigma event” earlier this month.  In other words, it is an event that is only supposed to have a chance of 1 in 500 million of happening.  Billions of dollars are being pulled out of junk bonds right now, and that has some analysts wondering if a financial crash is right around the corner.

#2 The last time that we saw a junk bond rout of this magnitude was back during the financial crash of 2008.  In fact, as the Telegraphrecently explained, bonds usually crash before stocks do…

The credit market usually leads the equity market during turning points, as happened when credit markets cracked first in 2008.

Will the same thing happen this time around?

#3 Retail sales have missed expectations for three months in a rowand we just had the worst reading since January.

#4 Things have gotten so bad that even Wal-Mart is really struggling.  Same-store sales at Wal-Mart have declined for five quarters in a row and the outlook for the future is not particularly promising.

#5 The four week moving average for mortgage applications just hit a 14 year low.  It is now even lower than it was during the worst moments of the financial crisis of 2008.

#6 The tech industry is supposed to be booming, but mass layoffs in the tech industry are actually 68 percent ahead of last year’s pace.

#7 According to the Federal Reserve, 40 percent of all households in the United States are currently showing signs of financial stress.

#8 The U.S. homeownership rate has fallen to the lowest level since 1995.

#9 According to one survey, 76 percent of Americans do not have enough money saved to cover six months of expenses.

#10 Rumblings of a stock market correction have become so loud that even the mainstream media is reporting on it.  For example, just check out this CNN headline from earlier this month: “Is a correction near? Wall Street on edge“.

#11 The civil war in Iraq is spiraling out of control, and Barack Obamahas just announced that he is going to send 130 troops to the country in a “humanitarian” capacity.  Iraq is the 7th largest oil producing nation on the entire planet, and if the flow of oil is disrupted that could have serious consequences.

#12 As a result of the conflict in Ukraine, the United States, Canada and the European Union have slapped sanctions on Russia.  In return, Russia has slapped sanctions on them.  Will this slowdown in global tradesignificantly harm the U.S. economy?

#13 The three day cease-fire between Hamas and Israel is about to end, and Hamas officials are saying that they are preparing for a “long battle“.  If a resolution is not found soon, we could potentially see a full-blown regional war erupt in the Middle East.

#14 The number of Ebola deaths continues to grow at an exponential rate, and if the virus starts spreading inside the United States it has the potential to pretty much shut down our entire economy.

Meanwhile, things look even more dire in much of the rest of the globe.

For example, the economic slowdown has gotten so bad in some nations over in Europe that they are actually experiencing deflation

Portugal has crashed into deep deflation and Italy’s inflation rate has fallen to zero as the eurozone flirts with recession, automatically pushing these countries further towards a debt compound spiral.

The slide comes amid signs of a deepening slowdown in the eurozone core, with even Germany flirting with possible recession. Germany’s ZEW index of investor confidence plunged from 27.1 to 8.6 in July, the sharpest fall since June 2012, during the European sovereign debt crisis. “The European Central Bank has to act now,” said Andrew Roberts, credit chief at RBS.

And in Japan, GDP just contracted at a 6.8 percent annual rate during the second quarter…

Japan’s economy suffered its worst contraction since 2011 in the second quarter as consumer spending on big items slumped in the wake of a sales tax rise.

Gross domestic product shrunk by an annualized 6.8% in the three months ended June, Japan’s Cabinet Office said Wednesday. The result was actually better than the 7% contraction expected by economists.

On a quarterly basis, Japan’s GDP dropped by 1.7% as business and housing investment declined. Japan’s economy last suffered a hit of this magnitude after the 2011 tsunami and nuclear disaster.

There is no way that this bubble of false prosperity was going to last forever.  It was never real to begin with.  It was just based on a pyramid of debt and false promises.  In fact, the condition of the global financial system is now far worse than it was just prior to the financial crisis of 2008.

Sadly, most people do not understand these things.  Most people just assume that our leaders have fixed whatever caused the problems last time.  And when the next crisis arrives, they will be totally blindsided by it.

You’ve got to hand it to the banksters…they are better with smoke and mirrors than Houdini, Copperfield or Blaine!

The question is- WHEN are the masses going to figure out it is all slight of hand? Probably too late.

        • admin

          Agreed… when it’s too late.

They won’t believe until the EBT system is halted or the price of food becomes so expensive that most won’t be able to afford to eat.

They’ll believe it when their retirement accounts have been vaporized.

They’ll believe it when Ferguson, MO style riots are happening in every major city.

But even then, it’s quite possible that most people will have no idea what happened, who caused it, and where it will lead next.

The end result is going to be a catastrophe on the order of World Wars I and II, if not worse.

          • SterlingSilver

The smoke and mirrors campaign of Ferguson is robbing the headlines of what is occurring in the financial world. Distraction works.

According to a highly classified leaked document from the Pentagon known as the FCWTSOD protocol (Fried Chicken and Watermelon Tacitial Strategy of Distraction), this civil uprising in Ferguson would be quelled in 30 minutes if properly executed by the DOD and law enforcement. That this protocol isn’t being deployed makes me smell a rat of conspiritorial proportions. Publically funded tax revenues wasted on tear gas and bullets could have supported KFC, Popeyes, and the local fruit stand while saving lives and realizing a positive impact on the local economy.

            Distraction works both ways.

            • eppe

              Pop goes the weasel!!!

              • Be informed

@ eppe. Pop goes the nuke. These banksters just will not allow the economy to go into a total collapse or out fo THEIR control. These maniacs are so power induced into their black souls that they rather take down everything along with them than lose their control. A worldwide economic collapse means anarachy. Even though many people feel it would usher in a globist type of martial law, it really won’t. Too many cities and even towns are so dependent on living from the outside that without this they stop existing. The elitists can only control so much without keeping the “serfs” contained.

The alternative to war BEFORE a worldwide economic cave in would be a germ released. It is NOT Ebola in the present form. A perfect biological weapon is one like the flu that is contagious BEFORE you have any symptoms. With all the bio-engineering of decades I would suspect that a true mass killer would be something we never have seen before, or some Frankenstein version of a virus or some combination of a few.

I truly feel that before we see any true economic catastrophe, we will see something a lot worse. The elitists don’t care about killing off 95%+ of the population to save their own hides. An economic collapse would mean the elitists losing their stranggle hold on everyone, because almost everything in this world is money based. That is why we all better look for the Earth shattering blast before the economic storm.

I believe this administration is PURPOSEFULLY destroying the middle class in America.

The economy is in bad shape and many Americans are unemployed, yet the White House meets with big business to discuss BOOSTING the supply of FOREIGN WORKERS…

Report: After WH Meets with Big Biz, Obama May Use Exec Actions to Increase Guest-Worker Visas

Obama is said to be working on a plan to give MILLIONS of WORK PERMITS to ILLEGALS, so they can stay in the U.S.

“After White House officials reportedly met with big-business groups, President Barack Obama is considering executive actions that will give them more guest-worker visas in the high-tech and low-skilled sectors.”

Of course it’s on purpose. No one reaches these levels of power by lacking intellect, so we can rule out negligence and incompetence. Intentional design (i.e. treason) is the only option left.

                • Miggy

I am glad you get it about the destruction of the middle class. Unfortunately, it is not just this administration as the right vs. left paradign just does not exist. Voting at the federal level is folly.

Also, they have been at the middle class for years, it started with NAFTA.

                • Tucker

KY Mom is right – but, come on, everyone. For the millions of self-hating, white-guilt ridden, White idiots who voted for Obongo because they thought they could relieve and absolve themselves of their ‘White guilt’ – there was plenty of easily found evidence that this guy was a Communist and every significant mentor and influence in this guy’s early life was a known and avowed Communist sympathizer. Frank Marshall Davis was considered to be such a dangerous Communist subversive that he was on the FBI’ watch list! But, instead of turning off their electronic brainwashing devices and doing a little homework on Obongo’s background – they allowed the Cultural Marxist Communist controlled mainstream media guilt-trip them into voting to put this Communist monster into the White House.

Anyone who’s done even a few hours of research into the evil ideology known as Communism and who’s looked into the writings of Karl Marx – will know that the Communists have always viewed the middle class and the traditional American family as their two biggest enemies and so, they have to work to destroy both of those obstacles in order to prepare a nation for a Communist takeover.

So, is it any surprise to anyone that these vile and despicably evil leftists in the DemonRat party have been waging a full scale, openly declared war on both the traditional family and on the middle class for the last 50 or 60 years? That’s why they keep screaming and scheming for ways to increase the tax burden on the middle class. That’s also why they keep trying to force their homosexual and lesbian and trans-I-am-so-confused-gender crap down the throats of America and especially down the throats of our innocent children.

That’s why the left, through their vehicle known as ‘feminism’ have been trying to brainwash White females into seeing motherhood and traditional marriage and raising cute little White babies as a fate worse than death. Its all part of their war to destroy the traditional White American family structure – which has traditionally been the strongest family structure in American history. Pitting White females against White men; they want to transform what used to be a loving, healthy partnership into an adversarial relationship.

What is going on in our society and culture is not a Rubik’s Cube, folks. It is not that difficult to figure out what the ‘agenda’ is, and it reeks of Communist subversion of our nation.

have lost our personal freedoms by default.

If some of you think that all we need to do is flap our guns on this site, you are fooling yourself. Many of you, by your own posts are not even close to engage for the moment. Let alone a long one.
Hell we can’t even communicate between us. OPSEC. To further hinder our cause for freedom. What one man thinks is the right course, many will not follow. So we stand alone. That may be good as for when the shit hits the fan we have only ourselves to blame for our short comings that will cover a multitude of sins. I would rather have that then to stick my neck out and have those dissipate into the shadows when it gets tough. Most of all I want to know that my cause is right and not based on lies because if I have to kill it is for a right reasons.

                  • SterlingSilver

@SolitaryMan – What similarities do you see between the ferguson riots and the bundy stand off? Other than armed LEOs, I don’t see ANY comparisons. Or were you being sarcastic?

              • Eagle 71

OK anymouse, I can only respond to your rant with a racially-motivated joke. You started it. Here goes:

A black man enters a store and asked, “In what aisle could I be findin’ me some watermelon?”

The clerk asks, “Are you African-American?”

The black man, clearly offended, says, “Course I be black…you blind or sumthin, you cracker? But let me ax you sumthin.

If I had axed for eye-talian sausage, would you ask me if I be eye-talian?

Or if I had axed for German Bratwurst, would you ask me if I be German?

Or if I axed for one ‘a dem kosher hot dawgs would you ask me if I be Jooish?

Or if I had axed for a Taco, would you ask if I be Mexi-can?

Or if I axed for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I be Irish?”

The clerk says, “No, I probably wouldn’t.”

The black man says, “Den, why did you ax me if I be black?”

The clerk replied, “Because you’re in Home Depot.”

                • Gonetoolong

Although I agree with your sentiments, I don’t see the whites and blacks ever getting together on a grand scale. The black and white populations are just different. It is actually as simple as that. Call it good or bad but it is a fact that white and black populations think, act, and work differently. I was raised in the south in predominantly black areas and understand well how this will be almost impossible to reconcile. My family always spoke of a coming race war, and I KNEW that they were full of shit. I am now rethinking what my family used to try to tell me.

                • CuzzinJim

I agree with you. The .gov has done there very best at creating a racial divide in this country. Blacks have let themselves be enslaved by the system so to speak. The programs that were designed to help them have put them in the lowest economic class, and they are basically encouraged to not work. Hell, why work when you can spit out babies all day, none having the same father, collect a check, have a place to live, etc. And the situation has just declined over time. Yes, the .gov wants us divided and fighting amongst ourselves. Ya don’t have to look any further than Ferguson, MO.

The media is focused on Michael Brown, yet have IGNORED the case of the toddler Bou Bou Phonesavanh, who was “severely injured on May 28, 2014 by a flash bang grenade thrown in his play pen during a botched police raid.”

The county police department responsible has now “REFUSED to pay the over $800,000 in medical bills for the child that they permanently disfigured and nearly killed.”

“They blew a hole through the face and chest cavity of a 19 month old child, permanently disfigured him, put him through an unfathomable amount of agony with treatments and repeated surgeries, and now, the family, which was already struggling financially after losing their home in a fire, is stuck with the bill, which will continue to climb, since Bou Bou is looking at several more operations.”

Please keep this child and his family in your prayers.

              • sharonsj

The media didn’t totally ignore the case of the baby injured by the flash grenade. It was definitely in the news, but there was no follow-up. That’s what the media does–or I should say, doesn’t do. They never tell us the final outcome or go after the perpetrators (especially if it’s big business). The protesters in Ferguson were lucky the militarized cops didn’t take them out with missile launchers.

            • Ideas Time

Your right. But here is the catch. They only get to do it once, and by that I mean mow down protesters. After that every one will get it and respond from a distance. As to financial markets, the math does not work with fake money printed out of thin air. The time of truth is coming to those who don’t get it.

I have been and I’m pretty much over it now

          • Jim(another Jim)

Mac, I don’t know how people cant see what is going on every time they go to the grocery store. The price of food is scary. I rarely eat out, but I had to make a road trip after work and was feeling lazy, so I didn’t make a sandwich. I thought it has been a long time since I ate at the golden arches, so I will treat myself to a burger and fries. WOW. When the little voice told me what the cost of that heart attack in a sack was, I thought I was having the heart attack before I even ate the thing. My idea of eating out is a 5 dollar sub at subway. I should have stuck with the sub. I don’t know how families with three or four kids can eat out all the time (I know ones that do it)
As for this story, I am not sure if it will happen soon. I mean, it will only happen when TPTB determine it is time. People are too lazy and complacent and lazy to fight until they are dragged kicking and screaming into battle. When The TPTB figure they are ready, they will shut down the EBT and credit systems, and chaos will be in the streets.

            • Winston Smith

Sadly that $5 sub isn’t what it used to be either and most likely isn’t $5 anymore. I used to eat at Subway a lot but then they started both noticeably reducing the portion size and noticeably increasing the price as well. I used to be lazy and eat out a lot, but now that has become financial suicide so I just cook for myself. I get more/better food for less money.

              • lastmanstanding

All of their food is subject to a price point and maximum profit.

          • tophand62

Mac…We could very well have Ferguson style riots in the major cities sooner than later….The inability of the police (goons) to de-escalate the situation there could likely enable this to spill into St. Louis….From there it’s not far to Kansas City or Chicago…Who knows what the “trigger event” will be?….A stock crash and a bank bail-in?…People will become desperate ( I believe they are already, most just don’t realize it yet)….And…WW1 and WW2 were fought on foreign soil, when SHTF, it’s going to be HERE….And that will be a catastrophe…

          • TheGuy

            1. Food: I’m still nowhere near that. I’m eating like a fricking pig on $160 a week. If I had to go to subsistence diet? Maybe half that. Don’t know what the heck people are eating. Of course, eating out is getting astronomical, but that’s business doing what business does… pushing ROI until it breaks then whining about breaking it…

            2. Retirement accounts: Yeah. That’s… yeah. Any minute now I think.

            3. Ferguson: Wonder if that’s not about to go down, actually. I hear tell that a lot of the protestors are imported at this point. Travelling there. This looks like it could go extremely badly… that’s sort of mini-revolution type stuff if it isn’t brought under control real soon. Imports: understand what you’re forcing to happen here… if you’re spoiling for a fight, you’re going to get it, unfortunately. You ready for that? I doubt it very much…

            • TheGuy

              Correction: $160 a MONTH.

Yeah… I thought something was wrong with my math there, haha!

              • Warchild Dammit!

Damn Guy,was gonna say,160 a month, didn’t know rock stars visited on this site,160 will prep one person food wise for a year easy if they don’t have to hump it on back.

I don’t claim to have all the answers but it seems to me that much could be accomplished by…

              1. Deactivate all Obamaphones within the St. Louis metropolitan area.
              2. Set up checkpoints to prevent influx of outside troublemakers from other cities.
              3. Canvas St. Louis metropolitan area hotels for customers who are from outside the area and who clearly appear to be in town to participate in the unrest in Ferguson. Expel them from the area and notify all hotels of their names with strong requests not to provide them with hotel rooms.
              4. Get the Ferguson kids back in school. Missing school is the last thing that community needs.
              5. Arrest anyone with paraphernalia indicating they are part of ISIS, making molotov cocktails, or engaging in other violent militant activity and intentions.
              6. Reinstate the curfew and make it longer, beginning at sundown and continuing to 1 hour after sunrise.
              7. Keep up the pressure on local leaders to pressure their congregations, neighborhoods, etc. to refrain from gathering to protest. Protesting does nothing to resolve the situation and only stokes emotions.
              8. Stop covering the situation with such extensiveness in the media. Many of the participants now are there just to get on TV.

Yes, this involves some suspension of some civil rights, but given what is happening every night, this would be better than the alternative of riots, destruction of private and public property, and shootings.

“price of food becomes so expensive that most won’t be able to afford to eat.”

The price of food is already too expensive for the majority hence the extremely high percentage of sheeple using EBT. Sure would be nice to know just how many in each area using them. In NV I’m told its nearly 60% of the sheeple. If this is accurate, when these cards are stopped or drastically reduced the riots in Ferguson will look like a picnic. Hang on to your butts or they may be eaten when EBT ends.

            • KY Mom

For many families, the EBT cards are already not lasting the month.

I have a good friend that volunteers at the local food pantry. The number of people and families they are helping now has INCREASED dramatically in the past year. She said they are always swamped the last 2 weeks of the month, as the EBT card has run out.

              • maddog

The USA isn’t Iraq. The people of Iraq do not own private firearms like we do. That means that if the government refused to properly take care of the problem, the ordinary people would. Yes, we would suffer casualties but we would also make our streets run red with the blood of these Islamic infidels. I wonder if hogs would eat subhuman flesh? I mean, I can think of no better way to dispose of ISIS dead. Well, I guess that if they decided to fight us on our soil we’ll have to find out!

When you “load up” your shopping cart with the best of the best, and the junk after junk, at the first of the month your ebt card probably wont stretch to the end of the month.

              • Winston Smith

Yup. I talked to one of the people I work with who is on EBT and she ends up eating a lot of ramen. Sadly, she also works full time and still can’t make ends meet.

              • WhoWuddaThunkIt

Food Pantries are like feeding Neighborhood Cats, As long you keep feeding them they will keep coming back. They need to cut off all food stamps for a few months and have mandatory work programs and after you put in a full day of work, you get a daily food ticket. Many use their EBT Cards to buy drugs. They sell the card values for money, then use that money for drugs. ER’s have a higher incident of Meth and drug over doses on the day EBT and Welfare credits hit the card holders account. That is fact.

                • Warchild Dammit!

Who,food pantries are voluntary and thus none of your fucking business, you do not have to contribute if you choose not to,oh,and I feed stray cats and try and home them when I can and do volunteer carpentry at animal shelters, once again,my business. As for the social safety net I agree, tis a fucking joke that is abused by many and citizens are FORCED to contribute with tax monies.I would say change it to a social trampoline to help folks rise, not be trapped. The way to do this is to end the large portion of bullshit govt. control on business and the economy, have true free markets and not crony capitalism small business will flourish and folks will get to work and earn a living, end all the bailouts welfare for banks/business/agi. ect.Legalize drugs but keep dui ect. as then endangering others, end the drug/cop/court/prison cartels, for most part just more welfare mooches, wanna die from drugs/food/booze risky sports not my business, just want your drugs cheap so you don’t need to rob/deal to feed your addiction. You disagree at least then push to outlaw alcohol,a truly destructive and most prevalent drug for some, including me,put down the bottle but would never outlaw it,plenty of folks use it no problem, some kill themselves with it,their choice,oh,and end the pharm industry and it’s taxpayer support of most of the useless/damaging drugs handed out in the name of health care.We need to set up a country with true opportunity again before changing the ebt system or of course you will have riots, you feed someone for generations of course they will go feral due to survival mode if cut off, that said, end the waste/abusers of system immediately, look in the mirror,we are all responsible to a degree to let our country head where it has, lets all do something to try and change that tac of course.

                • sharonsj

Change your name to WhoDon’tThunkIt. There are no jobs. And food stamps are used by the elderly, disabled, and veterans. And I know you can’t read or you would have seen the articles about the states that instituted drug testing for EBT recipients. For example, during the past year, the state of Utah has spent over $30,000 giving drug tests to welfare recipients. In that time period, only 2.6 percent tested positive.

              • Burt Gummer

Our Sunday School class takes up a donation every week to support our local help center. People in need come in for food and clothes. It is amazing how much they give away considering our county is one of the best in the state for employment.

              • Oldfart

My wife is the Pastor of a small Church in what used to be the “black” part of town. They have a small (15′ X 40′) garden from which they donate food to people every week. Last year they helped 70 families and this year it looks as if they’ll break that record.

                • Warchild Dammit!

Excellent idea, would be nice if folks with land would do this more on a voluntary basis, folks learning to feed themselves and get fresh/healthy food a great thing.Once again,in many areas illegal to have a garden in YOUR front yard ect.,we need as a country to end that insanity.

            What rubbish!

The Black Legends about “Dark” Ages are simply meant to smear Christendom.

Especially when compared to modern times, the medieval centuries were times of RELATIVE peace and slow, but steady advancement in science and agriculture. Of course, all that is lost on those dumbed down by a public fool system invested in creating slaves for banksters who worship only themselves and money.

            • Hunter

              John Q-

Hmmmmm?!?…your post spurred some research on my part, John!

Seems there exists a solid correlation between the “Inquisition and the Renaissance” period….

The church’s prosecution(not persecution) of the “evil tribe’s infiltration” of European society, resulted in the forceful banning of “USURY” and and other un-GODLY practices within European Christian societies of that era.

…hence, once the jew-parasite was removed from the backs of the Christian populace…you had the “RENAISSANCE PERIOD” to immediately follow.

i.e….and it resulted in the flowering of (Christian) Western Civilization.

Sadly, we’ve now come full circle and today…mainstream Christianity is again…an anti-truth/anti-Christ, kosher construct!

Keep the FAITH bro’….and pray much in the meantime!

              • John Q. Public

Unfortunately, pagan philosophy, including Kabbala, was “re-born” during the “Renaissance.” Infiltrators attempted to “baptize” the Kabbala and, by the 18th century, the “extrinsic titles” loophole for usury had made steady headway.

By the 19th century the mortal sin of usury no longer required confession and absolution. The money-changers’ vices that had angered Jesus to violence became routine abuses in the Vatican Bank. The Judaizing worship of money and man slowly built in the Renaissance to the ruinous explosion of “Vatican 2,” a council of an imposter church.

                • sharonsj

Really? Then perhaps you can explain the modern Christian mega-churches that teach Jesus wants you to be rich?

                  • John Q. Public

Please read carefully. I briefly explained that infiltrators, usurers, and Kabbalists subverted the Church with their worship of money. What part of that don’t you understand?

There is nothing “modern” about the love of money, but the worship of money exploded with the Judaizing of the Renaissance, the Protestant Deformation, and the so-called “Second” Vatican Council.

These are the bullies playing with our lives, without them people can live in relative peace and harmony. Here is another Manipulation in the Energy sector. You may have noticed Gasoline prices dropping the last few months. And the demand and price of a barrel of oil is also dropping another $2 today down to about $94 a barrel. Well several Gasoline producers have now taken their Gas productions facilities off line, to manipulate and jack up the cost of gasoline again. That’s right, they produce less gas and get paid more. What a scam. This entire market is so manipulated. I hope they all crash and burn into Oblivion. Any anybody still being a sucker or greedy, will get slaughtered.

          • Gonetoolong

Lower gas prices (although I like to see them) only indicates as you stated, lack of demand=lack of human activity=lack of economic activity=more negative economic news – just as we all are feeling right now. What with the new norm in wages either being now lower or hours being cut for most working Americans it would seem that we now have only two classes left. The well off who own thier own home and have an household income over 100 thousand or the vast majority of not doing so well renters with a combined household income of 550,000 per year. Not to many people in the middle anymore. Just food for thought?

Suppose you were a committed leftist revolutionary who somehow got elected president of center right America. You masked your socialist agenda in the appealing rhetoric of fairness and justice, but secretly loathed the American system of constitutional government and free market capitalism.

Suppose you were great at making speeches but little else.

Suppose you also had developed into a psychological narcissist with an absurdly grandoise view of yourself and almost no tolerance for criticism and disagreement.

Suppose your ego was so fragile, your world view so distorted your mind so angry beneath your charismatic exterior, and your self image of being a devinely gifted leader now in danger of disintegrating in the light and heat of mounting geopolitical turmoil and your own stunning failures of president.

To ‘stay the course’you were on–of forcing hardcore socialism on an unwitting capitalist country, despite mounting cries for you to stop–you would need help.

Meet the ‘most powerful woman in America’.

Historians will no doubt look back and ask how it’s possible that the 44th president, Barack Obama, could possibly have been so disastrously out of touch with reality, so consistently wrong headed in his decisions, never course-correcting in any meaningful way despite staggering evidence at every juncture. With the clarity that comes with the passaage of time, they will surely conclude a great deal of credit goes to Valerie Jarrett, Obamas’ Rasputin, for enabling the president to stay the course–a course she herself was instrumental in setting his feet upon decades earlier.

A former editor of Time Magazine describes
Valerie Jarrett in many ways as the “DEFACTO PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

The complete article is a great history of Valerie Jarrett and her climb to fame in the White House.

You will understand why the president golfs and vacations so much. THEY DONT NEED HIM. VALERIE JARRETT IS THEIR COMRADE FOLLOWING COMMUNIST MARCHING ORDERS BY TPTB.

Exactly, BC. The coming Russia-led invasion of Israel will prove your point. Israel will never fire a shot, and the invaders will be completely routed.

The bad news is that it looks like that event will be followed by nuclear war.

everybody always thinks God is on THEIR side

years ago I remember watching a WW2 movie

in one scene the Germans are all gathered together with their
and they are praying to God for victory against their enemy

in the next scene the Americans are all gathered together with
          their minister
and they are praying for victory against their enemy

          God is looking down
and I wonder what the hell is He thinking

these men creatures he created are within minutes
          of killing each other
bombs shredding bodies into little pieces
          eyes shot out
          faces blown off
arms and legs ripped from bodies
thousands and thousand of horrible deaths within a few hours
thousand of widows and orphans created

bet God regrets ever creating this man creature

Right, but what’s interesting about that is: what would a lot of them actually DO?

I mean… between automation and resource constraints… the whole point of industrialization was to save labor (and… the whole truth about finite resources is the fact that you can’t produce infinite widgets)…

Well… y’all saved labor. Now what? Bunch of jobless people. As I recall from the futuristic mural paintings they were all supposed to be chillin’ by the swimming pool and writing poetry by now… or something…

I have been out of the Stock Market since 2007, because everything is literately fake. Everything is a lie. I could not believe the amount of off book accounting. In my day this was fraud!

As Paul Craig Roberts recently said, ‘it is hard to say what exactly is going to happen and when, because just about everything that is happening in the financial world was illegal when I was in Washington.’

One thing is clear though, it’s that they can keep thing going longer than anyone would think possible. I mean who thought Japan could take on so much debt?

        • WhoWuddaThunkIt

@Justice… Me too…People used to invest in the markets using Economic Fundamentals. Now it is all electronic tick by tick high speed momentum plays. Nothing to do with any fundamentals what-so-ever. Just watch the day soon coming, when the Top 1% Pros pulled out of the market at the same time, and the 401K holder working stiffs, won’t realize it, till they get their quarterly statement showing all Goose Eggs.

And a warning to all 401K holders, Just move the investments to a safer segment within the fund NOW, and out of all equities. That will be where the mass blood letting slaughter occurs. And or Take some money out, pay off all your debts, like a house mortgage, and stock up on some preps. Just thank me later.. lol

          • marcus of arrington

…and don’t forget to get receipts for those paid down debts.
After 19 years of loyal service to company X, I got fired in 2012 then quickly dumped my 401K and took the tax penalty + tax hit. Like many, I had to survive in this “system”.

Those dollars evaporated quickly, but they were worth more when I spent them than they would have been in “the future”. 401K plans are a carrot on a stick.

Cash out while you can, buy something useful and discard the notion that your 401K will make you rich. It ain’t gonna happen.

YARD SALE!!! Folks, start cleaning your house out. Get that yard sale going and clear out all the needless junk in your house. You can use that cash to stock up on food and preps. List your junk on Craig’s list and yard sales for free. Just list your sale 3 to 4 times a few days ahead of time to get a better response. There may be a day coming up when you have to abandon your home and leave it all behind, so it is best to get rid of it now to raise cash. I did this last weekend and made about $150. Nothing great, but got rid of more stuff.. I have sold items off of Craig’s list of over $4500 worth of needless stuff over the last few years. It’s just stuff. Clean and clear it out. Lots of people looking for odds and ends of stuff. You would be amazed. Make sure you have really good road signs with big arrows pointing the way to your sale. Everyday people have less and less money to spend, and all that junk will be come somewhat worthless.

          • Winston Smith

The question though is whether the person was peacefully protesting or rioting. I only cut and pasted the headline off of BBC World News and had no other information. If they were rioting then I really have no sympathy for them. It sucks for their families that they are dead but then they should never have been taking part in the violence to begin with. If they weren’t doing anything violent then I will be outraged (as much as a person can be outraged in out callous times). Then again, it’s sort of what happens when you have a dynamic situation where government forces may be afraid for their lives. They won’t restrain themselves indefinitely, which is why you should avoid crowds and violent scenes lest you get caught up in them.

            • Smokey

The one shot today was a thief, followed out of the store by security, when confronted by two police, he pulled a knife and charged them, saying ‘Shoot me now. Kill me.’

Withholding useful or damaging information is the same as saying Ocommie love’s the USA. A lie is a lie is a lie. What is for sure is all the misinformation and outright lies from the LSM and government is not going to end well. Nothing is as it seems so all there is to do is prepare for anything as much as possible and keep vigilant. You know whatever TPTB do is nothing good and very bad things this way come. Start fighting back. Give them nothing and do not participate in any libtard movements or ideas. Cooperation is a ploy of the communists to push their fucked up utopian plan. Resist.

They will not allow too many more to wake up. Something major is just around the corner, what it might be is truly hard to say, but it will evolve massive concern on all the people of the world. It is so true they will not lose control, now the fly in the ointment; a major Natural Disaster that they have no way to control. What happen in Japan has moved up their time table and they are now just getting the final touches on the event to put a stop to their collapse. Whatever it maybe will cost tens of thousands of lives worldwide. The old saying War is business and business is good. Just spend all your spare coins on preparations for what may come our way. Re: “#9 According to one survey, 76 percent of Americans do not have enough money saved to cover six months of expenses.”

Sadly, there are many people who are struggling to cover the current month of expenses. If there is an unexpected expense – illness (part time job doesn’t include sick days), car repair, etc., they are in bad shape.

Those part time jobs paying minimum wage don’t provide for a family like the ones many were employed at previously.

This is an example of the Obama “recovery”…
June FULL-TIME JOBS PLUNGE By Over Half A Million, PART-TIME JOBS SURGE By 800K, Most Since 1993

Walmart controls all their stores thermostats remotely from company headquarters. Have you been in a Walmart recently? They have the temperature set at about 78 making it feel uncomfortable. Walmart is hurting and finding ways to save a buck.

        • Anonymous

hmmm, now I know why Walmart smells so bad. Least they can do to install showers for their staff to clean up.

        • jpl_texas

I go to a rural Walmart at times and find them willing to negotiate on prices; taking mark downs. I bought a ladies bicycle that was originally priced at $129, had a little rust on the crank, and got it for $40. They also had these covered yard swings that originally went for $170, was marked down to $130, but got it for $100. So, I agree, Walmart is in a current retail climate where it is receptive to doing a little more negotiating to move those big volumes they have setting on the floor.

I was amazed at Wal-Mart the other day. I needed a new wristwatch, and I’m fond of the brand and model I’ve been wearing for over 20 years. I couldn’t find one like it and asked the clerk. She went to a case I hadn’t looked at and instantly found the identical model for me. It’s a Timex Indiglo. The battery will last about seven years if you don’t use the light much. The case and buttons eventually corrode after about ten years, but it doesn’t cost a lot. I do have my father’s pocket watch and other clocks in case of EMP.

When the economy of Japan collapsed, Japan did not fold up and move into the dark ages overnite. When the economy of Brazil (or is it Argentina…damned age-induced CRS!) collapsed, Brazil (Arg.) did not fold up and move into the dark ages. Both countries evolved and moved on. I cannot recall hearing of mass Japanese starvation back then.

I don’t think we Americans will vaporize overnite either the way some folks portense it. I’ve prepped a little, but also know that I cannot lone wolf a financial disaster and the ensuing conflict a dollar collapse will bring. I do believe that things will go “local” in a hurry before the president comes on the air with the National Emergency patriotism speech.

When our fiat paper goes to zero value- as it eventually must- we’ll find a new modality of exchange. Greenbacks anybody? I think most likely we’ll retrovert back to a modified gold standard and just start over with a new currency. Recall Bernanke telling us of a “soft landing”? I read Bernanke to mean controlled and supervised but necessary.

So,…if you have a million bucks in the bank in digital dollars, or a million bucks in the new paper Benjamins (FRNs), both will be equally worthless at the time of the zero value default. Hey! At least we can start a fire with the paper to get the woodstove lit. :O)

Just got details on another food bank that is hidden and away from normal locations for food storage. We have our men there. The government actually thinks that we are going to let them have this food when the time comes. I would rather burn it all down to the ground before I let the shit government take a hold of it. Believe me when I say any food that they get from us, will be poisoned and they will die like the rats that they are. We are too many, and we are armed by the government. We will turn our rifles on anyone coming between us and ours. Everything that they have done, they have done to defend themselves, while at the same time telling me to fuck myself and my own. So fuck them, and fuck you all for letting them get away with it.

The US Feds will keep printing until other (independent) nations flat refuse to accept USDs at the exchange table. That could be a very long way off; the USD still has a lot of buying power relative to currencies outside US borders, and will for a long time. Unfortunately, the further it goes, the more financial abuse other (dependent) nations will suffer. Look around; dependent nations are being inhumanely brutalized – sanctioned to death (trade and food embargoes), and bombed – rock throwers are shot down and the takers walk out with all regional resources. The indicators referred to in this report just indicate the need for more quantitative easing (print more money and ease credit approvals). This is an amazing and cruel time.

        • Old Guy

Jpl. The Mint has been going 24×7 for decades. However the actual printed cash does not exist. Mostly what is printed is $20 and one dollar bills. And paper money wears out quickly . So truckloads are printed and truckloads burned. until they start printing money in demoniations of more that $100 the actual cash wont exist. the debt is in the form of treasury notes etc. signatures on paper much like a home mortgage.

          • jpl_texas

OG, good clarification. I am referring to “printing money” as “expanding the money supply” on the basis of credit obtained thru t-bills or exchange of tangibles (i.e. gold, land, food, labor, etc.).

It’s been like that for YEARS or did you just realize that yesterday???
Did inflation also cause the 2008 market crash otherwise I guess inflation just started in 2009….. Your comment is so unintelligent and laughable!!!!

A few indicators listed by Snyder are spurious or meaningless. Walmart has issues caused by the economy in addition to self inflicted issues and distain regarding past business practices. Walmart also depends on China and resulting exchange rate.
Home ownership has declined for reasons related and not related to the economy. Buying a house is not a good financial decision for some buyers. The current break even is currently three years. Some buyers want options and some are transitory. There is also a larger number of people who pay cash and don’t apply for mortgages.
The Ebola issue is not an issue. I know many here will disagree, but Ebola hasn’t spread in the US like many predicted.
We have been in Iraq for years. 130 troops have been sent to pacify liberals and Obama can act like he cares about the ongoing slaughter.
The pending wars will have an impact if they commence. Then again, wars may be an opportunity for some.
The fact 75% of the population can’t last six months? That isn’t much higher than normal. 35% of Americans are also involved in a credit collection. This isn’t a surprise and is actually a sign of attitudes. What does your credit rating matter when you and potential lenders will overlook issues.
Junk bonds are a bubble and everyone is bailing to the next bubble.
There are reasons to be concerned. Backwardation of silver, the drought, the entitled generations who don’t mind living with parents until they are 30, ( by the way. If you get a chance, thank a gen x for paying your social security…not). The do nothing government who don’t make tough decisions and only want to stay in office, the debt, and the fact we are breeding ourselves into stupidity are more likely concerns.

        • Winston Smith

I wouldn’t call Ebola a total non-issue just yet. Right now it’s nothing to worry about and it doesn’t look like it will come here, but it’s too early to tell. You should still have some minimal provisions available in case they are needed for Ebola, or any other pandemic for that matter. Of course, duct tape, plastic sheeting and food and water go without saying (if you prep, you already have some), but some Tuberculosis rated respirators, sealed goggles, a few Tyvek bunny suits and nitrile gloves may not be a bad idea. I would also add a face shield or two, just in case. Now is the time to buy these things, while they are available. Hopefully it turns out to be a waste of $200 or so but when you need it, you won’t be able to get it.

          • Fyyff

No doubt that I could be wrong about Ebola. I also agree with a pandemic of some type potentially being an issue. I would give Snyder some credit regarding Ebola. I just don’t think Ebola will be the pandemic.

          • jacksofhearts

each manufacturer of jewish rabbi “kosher” certified foods PAYS A TAX of (.0003 cents) to place that kosher symbol on each kosher food item.

            billions are sold yearly.

that accumulates into the ten’s of millions yearly to only a small handful of zio-jew families who control the kosher trade mark.

it’s just one more jew-cog wheel in the financial banking machine of global zio-jew control and influence of the entire world.

Cop cams could change police behavior, but technology can only do so much

“So it is in Rialto, Calif., where an entire police force is wearing so-called body-mounted cameras, no bigger than pagers, that record everything that transpires between officers and citizens. In the first year after the cameras’ introduction, the use of force by officers declined 60%, and citizen complaints against police fell 88%.”

        Canadian’s Version of David Letterman’s Top 10
Just makes you wanna shake your head in disbelief.

Number 10 Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 per plate Obama campaign fund-raising event.

Number 9 Only in America …could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General and roughly 20% of the federal workforce is black while only 14% of the population is black 40+% of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans – 3X the rate that go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics!

Number 8 Only in America…could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

Number 7 Only in America…can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

Number 6 Only in America…would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just ‘magically’ become American citizens (probably should be number one).

Number 5 Only in America….could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as EXTREMIST’S.

Number 4 Only in America…could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

Number 3 Only in America…could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. Oil company(Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).

Number 2 Only in America… could you collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

And Number 1 Only in America…could the rich people- who pay 86% of all income taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.

Does anyone have a comment about Tom H. comments below?

UNITED States of America – It can now be reported as geopolitical chaos continues that the U.S. Federal Reserve has signed off on a massive ‘Bail-In’ on all U.S. savings and checking account deposits as well as pension funds at the U.S. Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, along with Mellon Bank of New York.

The massive ‘Bail-In’ is scheduled for September 2, 2014 the day after Labor Day, which coincides with the trigger date tied to $15 TRILLION in wrap around ass backwards derivatives linked to German Deutsche Bank.

I have a GRAND that says no “bail-in” on September 2nd. Any takers? Bail-ins are for EUROPE where a different banking system exists.

The FED has QE and has been bailing the banks OUT since the 2008/2009 Crash. QE is a CONTINUATION of the Great Bank Bailout and the Sheeple haven’t a clue. Don’t be a FOOL!

The Federal Reserve is running a classic Ponzi scheme: Every “dollar” in circulation is created by a debt instrument (bill, bond, or note). The promise is to pay back the “loan” with interest. The interest is never created. It is impossible to fulfill the contract. A debt that cannot be culminated is an act of fraud and is legally void upon its inception. The only way to pay the interest is to incur additional debt. That is the classic Ponzi scheme. Ref.

The Board of Governors (owners) embezzle $4 billion daily using the FRBNY’s exclusive handling of auction accounts of Treasury securities. Those accounts have never been audited nor have they ever been reported to Congress. The money legally belongs to the government. Ref. .
What can $4 billion daily buy? Try FUNDING THE NEW WORLD ORDER.

They are in control, they will not lose control in an event like this. All this would mean would be a new more universal dollar that would encompass the EU and the US.
