Only Those that Hate America
Don’t Get it
The real battle is over who gets to build America for the next decade.
President Trump has made one of the most extraordinary promises of the 2026 midterms: if Republicans retain both the House and Senate, he says every adult American citizen will receive a $5,000 “Trump Dividend.”
Trump has connected the proposal to the economic gains of his second term and his tariff-heavy trade strategy, although the final funding mechanism has not been established and the potential cost exceeds $1.2 trillion.
The check is the advertisement. Reindustrialization is the product.
Trump’s economic experiment rests on a simple idea: America spent decades allowing factories, supply chains, processing capacity and strategic industries to migrate overseas.
Tariffs, tax incentives, accelerated permitting and domestic investment are intended to reverse that process.
Factories come home. Capital comes home. Supply chains come home. America makes things again.
Whether that program continues at its current pace will partly depend on the political landscape after the midterms. A change in congressional control could complicate legislation, appropriations and elements of the administration’s broader industrial agenda, although many tariff and regulatory authorities also reside with the executive branch.

And that matters because reindustrialization isn’t something you complete in an election cycle!
A semiconductor fab takes years. A refinery takes years. A mine can take a decade. A mineral-processing industry can take even longer. Capital requires certainty.
You cannot build a 20-year industrial strategy around a two-year political clock. And nowhere is that problem more dangerous than underground.
AMERICA CAN’T REINDUSTRIALIZE WITHOUT THE PERIODIC TABLE
Washington can announce a trillion dollars of factories tomorrow.
It won’t matter if America cannot obtain the materials those factories consume. That is the vulnerability almost nobody discusses.
America wants dominance in AI. Robotics. Aerospace. Defense. Electricity. Advanced manufacturing. But underneath every futuristic technology sits something extremely old-fashioned: METAL.
Consider neodymium and praseodymium: NdPr is essential for the high-performance permanent magnets used in advanced electric motors, robotics, industrial automation and numerous defense applications.
Yet China remains the dominant force in rare-earth separation and permanent-magnet manufacturing.
America can design the world’s greatest robot… China can still dominate critical portions of the supply chain needed to build its motor.
Then come platinum and palladium: These platinum-group metals are crucial across catalytic systems, chemical processing and numerous advanced industrial applications.
And look at the supply map: South Africa. Russia. Two BRICS members sit at the center of global PGM production.

Russia alone remains responsible for a huge portion of global mined palladium. This is not diversification. This is dependency disguised as globalization.
THAT’S WHY “MINE, BABY, MINE” MATTERS!
Trump’s mining policy isn’t merely about producing more commodities. It is about recognizing that a superpower cannot remain a superpower if somebody else controls the physical ingredients required to manufacture its weapons, machines, electrical infrastructure and advanced technologies.
The administration’s March 2025 minerals order explicitly described America’s dependence on foreign mineral production as an economic and national-security threat and ordered agencies to accelerate domestic mineral production and permitting.
That is the real industrial revolution hiding behind the tariff headlines.
